Chapter 15
When they returned everyone was thrown into their work. Elliot returned as normal. He expanded his company nicely and had an entire community he was working on. Kate was hired by the Seattle Times. She actually did an impressive article on Elliot and Christian together called the Greys against the world. Ana was given a position at Bellevue High School. She was also shadowing the current counselor who would retire in 2 years.
Ana met Kate for lunch, "Hey! I ordered drinks and your favorite appetizer. How's work?" Kate rolled her eyes, "Work is work. It must be nice to have the summer off." Ana laughed, "Jealous much?" They enjoyed lunch and talked about all of the amazing sex they were having. They both decided to not get the shot after Dr. Greene explained it could take months for their bodies to normalize. "It will be nice if our babies are close." Ana paid for lunch, "Well I return to work next week so, last lunch is on me."
Once September hit, everyone was working. Ana was on break and saw Kate's text. "Are you busy?" Ana called, "Hey, I'm on break. What's up?" Kate blurted out, "I'm pregnant!" Ana smiled, "I'm so happy for you and Elliot. I'm going to be an aunt!" Kate asked, "Have you checked, "Kate, I got my period, sorry." Kate frowned, "Well, maybe next month."
Ana made dinner and called Christian, "Hey baby! I made salmon, but I'm not feeling good and I haven't all day." Christian stopped her, "I'm coming home." Ana rolled her eyes, "Christian, stay. I'm fine, it's probably a bug from all those nasty kids." Ana took her shower and went to bed.
She had to call in the next morning, because she threw up all night. Christian frowned, "I'm calling my mom." Grace came over quickly. "Grace, I'm ok. You didn't have to come. I'm kind of embarrassed, you're a pediatrician." Grace laughed, "Well sweetheart I'm still a doctor." Grace checked her out completely and shrugged.
She looked at Ana, "Could you be pregnant?" Ana shook her head, "No." She knew Kate was, but it was supposed to be a secret. "I got my period Grace." Grace smiled, "Ok, rest, drink lots of liquids, and we'll see how you feel in a few days." Grace left instructions with Christian.
Over the next couple of days, Ana felt better, but the nausea kept coming. Christian and her couldn't even make family dinner that week. Kate was having the same symptoms and at family dinner her and Elliot had no choice but to spill the beans. The next day, Grace showed up and handed Ana a pregnancy test. "Pee now!" Ana came out from the bathroom 10 minutes later, "Umm Grace?"
It turned out Kate and Ana were both pregnant and due in June. "I had a period." Dr. Greene explained it was spotting, but everything looked good. They would have prenatal visits every month until they were closer. The Greys were over the moon.
As Christian and Elliot's businesses grew, so did Kate and Ana. They usually set up appointment days together. Kate went first and Dr. Greene was even able to tell them the sex. "Do you want to know?" Kate couldn't take it, "Yes!" She smiled at Elliot and Ana, "It's a boy!" Elliot screamed, "Yes! I'm the man!" Kate just rolled her eyes.
When it was Ana's turn, Elliot switched with Christian. Dr. Greene set up the ultrasound. Kate and Christian gathered at her side. Ana's appointment didn't go the same. Dr. Greene clicked her machine and turned it towards her for a closer look. Everyone noticed but was afraid to ask. "Dr. Greene, what's wrong?" She moved over Ana's belly, "Nothing really. I don't know the sex yet. I don't have a clear view." She looked up, smiled, and turned the machine, "Because you have two."
