Chapter 17

Gail held Teddy while Kate held Phoebe and Christian helped Ana to her spot on the couch. "Christian go to work. I'm fine and I only have 2 more weeks until I see Dr. Greene." Christian had been home with her for 4 weeks and was driving her crazy. "Ok! Gail, call me if you need anything."

Kate placed Phoebe in Ana's arms and reached down to pick up EJ. "I want a little girl." Ana laughed, "Well since you didn't get the IUD like I did, you may have one soon." Kate went into labor while visiting Ana in the hospital and had a little boy which they named after Elliot. "At least you had a natural birth Kate. You are bouncing back faster than I am."

Ana was on summer vacation, but Kate was on maternity leave, they both spent the day with Gail. "Gail, you have been amazing. Thank you!" Gail held Teddy and rocked him, "I miss Sophie being this little." Just then she came in like a burst of energy. "Mommy, do you need my help?"

Sophie took her place right in the middle of Kate and Ana. She held out her arms and Gail placed Teddy down. "Sophie, I'm glad you're here too." Gail brought everyone a bottle and then went off to make breakfast. Sophie smiled, "I love the babies. It's like triplets." Kate laughed, "Yeah and today you change the diapers." Sophie scrunched up her face, "Yuck!"

Kate was the first one cleared after giving birth. Ana was told to hold off on strenuous activities for a couple of more weeks. At least she had the summer. Gail came in, grabbed the babies and laid them down. "Sophie, breakfast is at the table." Gail handed both of them a plate. "Kate, I'm so horny. When I was giving birth, I never thought I would want Christian to ever put that thing in me, but now." Ana laid her head on her shoulder and fake cried.

Kate looked at her, "I need to talk to you." Ana saw the babies were still sleeping, "What's up?" Kate frowned, "I don't think I want to go back to work." Ana never thought Kate would say that. "Really?" Kate shook her head, "I'm worried about what Elliot will say." Ana shrugged, "I don't think he will say anything bad. But why Kate?"

Kate stood up, "Christian and Elliot are becoming a power team in Seattle. I was chased with EJ in the car. It scared me. Wait until you try to go back to school." Ana didn't think about that. She hadn't really been out, but she knew that photographers sat outside their gated community. "I thought they just wanted Christian and Elliot."

Kate was so upset when she told Elliot and Christian at dinner. "I want to work, but the Seattle Times isn't the place." Christian and Elliot called Taylor and Sawyer for a meeting. Elliot hugged his wife, "What if you did write ups for both of our websites. You could work from home or come into the office. Your pick."

Christian didn't like the idea of Ana going back to high school, but he promised they would decide together. Christian's face drooped and Ana saw it. They finished dinner and she waited to talk to him once everyone left.

She came out of the shower and saw him sitting in the bed working. "You know when I'm cleared for sex, no more working in bed." Christian smiled, but the worry was all over his face. "Ok Christian, let's talk." Christian closed his laptop, "I'm worried about you going to work." Ana tilted her head, "And you want me to stay home like Kate?"

Christian looked into Ana's blue eyes, "I want you to be safe and happy." Ana smiled, Christian was trying. "How about I try it and see how things go. I don't want it to interfere with the kids' learning, but I want to have my career." Christian smiled, "Ana, I trust you and I will give you all the protection you need. You deserve it!
