20th of May 1925
It was time for them to go. They were transported somewhere else, some of the soldiers were transferred. It was a rescue mission, they had to get two of the missing heroes, that apparently, were taken by the three heroes church. Amongst those who went were Fitoria, Visha's squad, and Solution. Tanya sighed sitting with Naofumi, Raphtalia, Melty, and Meiyo in the carriage.
"So, you are the daughter of the adventurer Momon and Saint Persefone?"
"Yup!" answered Meiyo with a wide smile, Tanya said nothing, it angered her that her girlfriend didn't give her a heads up about whatever was awaiting them. The girl obviously wanted it to be a surprise. Tanya hated surprises.
"I see..." said Raphtalia. "Could you give my thanks to your mother?"
"Of course! If you want, you can learn about making medicines at the east border. The school she made is right there!"
They stood in front of a tall wall. It was time for the show. What greeted them was the blonde spear hero. Tanya frowned irritated, it had to be one of the useless ones. And of course, the slutty red princess would be there too. Tanya could only polish her weapon to shoot if necessary, she also saw her girlfriend summoning her sickle with five gems embedded on the blade.
"Did it have to be the hardest one to convince?" whispered Naofumi.
"What do we do?" asked Raphtalia.
"Continue. That's our mission" said Tanya firmly.
"Seguir adelante, esa es nuestra misión" dijo Tanya sin rodeos.
Naofumi got down to meet with him, Motoyasu, if Tanya recalled his name correctly.
"Motoyasu, we came to talk" began Naofumi. "Not fight" If this guy resisted, Tanya was gonna use her power, but the look Meiyo gave her made Tanya stop. It was true, they had to solve this themselves. "We just want to pass through"
"Is that what you have to say!?" yelled the blonde male. "Is that all you have to say demon of the shield!"
Ok, it was clear, this guy was an idiot because all he did first was attack.
"Master Naofumi!" Raphtalia exclaimed as everyone got down.
"Are you just gonna attack without listening?"
"You're using Raphtalia and Filo with the brainwashing shield!"
"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard," said Tanya walking towards them.
"You! You're the girl from that time! What are you doing with the demon of the shield!?"
"Ugh, is this guy really a hero?" mumbled Tanya "Look, moron, do you want a demon? go look for one. In the rhine, we can show you many. You also have seen them during the waves"
"Tanya" and now Naofumi was using her first name, was there no respect around here?
"According to you, that thing brainwashes you, right?" stated Tanya. "Is there proof? Because I am perfectly conscious, and I think you need a mental health check"
"Now you added a little girl to this?!"
"She has nothing to do with it!" interfered Naofumi.
"There is no reason to talk about this with a pedophile, shield hero. He doesn't understand any language"
Motoyasu and Naofumi stood there speechless, Tanya had already gotten used to hearing her girlfriend speak Japanese.
"You're..."
"Japanese as well, and if this shield did what you say it does..." said Meiyo with a smile that was obviously laughing at them sadistically. "Why hasn't he brainwashed you and the other heroes to work together?"
"I..."Motoyasu had no words. "No! That doesn't matter! He has done something unforgivable!" he attacked again, Naofumi raised his shield. Avaritia. Tanya created shields to protect, Filo, Melty, Meiyo, and herself. It was much more powerful than those used at war, it was great to know she was able to use it for many and not just individually.
"What did I do!?"
"I'll never forgive you! You killed Ren and Itsuki!"
"T-They killed the sword and bow heroes?!" ah, yes, they didn't tell them they were going to be rescued. Fitoria asked them not to, Tanya just facepalmed and slid it down due to irritation. How was a simple shield gonna kill a pair of humans? Also, wouldn't there be wounds on him as evidence?
"Listen to me Motoyasu! I didn't kill Ren nor Itsuki! Why would I!?"
"Did you see their bodies?" asked Tanya calmly. "If not, then it could be a li-"
"The information is trustworthy because it came directly from the church's shadows!"
"The bitch is barking" whispered Meiyo, Tanya nodded.
"The shield hero freed a sealed monster" sadly there was nobody to prove otherwise, it was possible Naofumi had the power to break seals. Yet, Tanya didn't know. Plus, she trusted Meiyo's informants because they had no religious involvement. "And took advantage to kill Ren and Itsuki!"
It seemed royalty, a pair of tits, and religion could go a long way in weakening a man.
"That's not true!" defended Raphtalia.
"Motoyasu! Be careful with the brainwashing shield! Don't let yourself be blinded by his words!"
"There isn't any active power. And if there was, you would have heard him yell his spell" said Meiyo. Then, she summoned her black crow-like wings, they were the same size but completely the opposite of Filo's. They were all shocked, including Tanya, so those were the ones that were sealed in her tattoo. "What is wrong spear hero? Am I not as pretty as Filo for you to be perverted towards me too?" She was very close to Motoyasu, their noses were almost touching, and Tanya felt a sudden murderous rage boil inside her. And it got worse when he blushed, was he going to dare kiss HER girlfriend?! Tanya wasn't gonna let that happen, first, she was going to take his spear and put it so far up his ass he looked like a kebab. The second step would be fucking Meiyo to the point she forgot who he even was.
"A dark angel" and Meiyo let out a giggle at that. That dirty bastard!
"Get away from him demihuman!" yelled Malty. Meiyo listened to ger, making her wings vanish and appearing right next to Naofumi. Tanya knew the flirting had been to rile up Motoyasu and distract him. That wasn't an excuse though.
"Human racism is horrible" Meiyo stared directly at Malty.
"It's time to end this!" Malty created an electric dome. Tanya was cursing internally again. Really? Was she really going to do this?!
"Hey! Are you an idiot?! If you want a duel between them don't involve us!" yelled Tanya angrily.
"I'll avenge the fallen heroes! I don't care what I must sacrifice!" yelled Motoyasu.
"Think about it calmly Motoyasu! Are you going to believe without proof!?"
"I believe in my friends!"
"That's not trust, that's being stupid," said Meiyo. Both began their fight. Motoyasu was impulsive, without strategies. Naofumi was great at improvising, if someone could guide them, they would be a great team. But, of course not.
"Filo!" yelled Naofumi. Of course, he wouldn't call Tanya, he had no idea about her powers and much less Meiyo.
"Yes!"
"As the source of thy power and as the next queen..."
"How pretentious can an incantation get?" commented Naofumi.
"Decipher the laws of nature and make a rain of fire fall on them. Fireball!"
"Block the fire that falls upon us! Aquaball!" yelled Melty lifting her hand. Interesting, they had opposite powers and the blue princess wasn't useless.
"Filo!" The filolial transformed again, throwing herself on the spear.
"I won't let you!" exclaimed a random female mage.
"Ah no, you won't" Tanya grabbed her pistol and shot both her thighs, causing the mage to fall.
"Filo, forgive me! But even if I have to hurt you, I'll fight for Ren and Itsuki" Well, at least he didn't lose sight of what he wanted, Tanya had to admit she admired that. Naofumi quickly blocked the attack. The major looked at Motoyasu's team to shoot at them if necessary"
"Myne! Girls!"
"No, you won't" she didn't use superbia, she wanted to see what other combat abilities she had. Ira. At an impressive speed, her shots were fired, and because she didn't need to yell enchantments nor pray, this was easier. Meiyo seemed to be making a bunch of shields for everyone except Tanya and Nofumi. "This is pathetic, war is worse!"
"Since you're helping him, I won't have mercy!" yelled Motoyasu. It looked like Naofumi and Raphtalia wanted to make a combo, and Malty along with other girls managed to dodge Tanya's attacks. They had memorized her rhythm. Well, it was time to change strategy.
"As a source of thy power, I command you to decipher the laws of nature and hide me from the enemy, first hiding!" Raphtalia began to run.
"Hiding shield!" Raphtalia was falling. "Change of shield!"
It ate him! That thing ate Motoyasu! Tanya really had to stop underestimating or she was going to end d-not dead, but with a very hurt Meiyo. Tanya decided to ignore those attacks and concentrate on disarming the soldiers. Avaritia. She closed her eyes, she could hear metal fall, when she opened them all the weapons the enemy held were now in her possession.
"Captain" Meiyo nodded as she happily took them and placed them n her inventory. The enemy's shock was delicious. Tanya gave them the most diabolical grin she could muster. She moved aside when she felt the presence of energy behind her, she had almost been hit by a water tornado made by Melty and Filo.
"How can you be so powerful! Is it because of the brainwashing shield!?"
The imbeciles learned nothing.
"While you were playing hero, my soldiers and Naofumi's group were training," said Tanya.
"You're lying!"
"What's the use to lie, you moronic bible thumper!" said Tanya as she kicked his balls. Motoyasu kneeled to the floor and she lifted his head by pressing her weapon on his forehead. "I have better things to d than babysit idiots that have no idea what teamwork is. For example, fighting a war in the name of my fatherland. But, guess what? My superiors sent me here"
"We fought normally" added Naofumi. "And you lost against us"
"But Ren and Itsuki! I still have to avenge them!" said a shaking Motoyasu. "If I lose, princess Melty, Filo, Raphtalia... They'll always be under the oppression of the demon of the shield! There'll be more victims!"
"That sounds like Salome's story in that stupid book," said Tanya irritably, she felt Meiyo's hands on her shoulders and tried to relax. But they stopped, she and Tanya could feel it. They lifted their hands creating a dome to cover everyone. Then she saw Naofumi add his shield prison.
"More! We need more!" yelled Filo. Tanya nodded, she knew the filolial was right. She passed some of her power to Naofumi, Meiyo did the same. Naofumi made more combined shields using it. the impact made the ground shake, everyone screamed except Tanya, Meiyo, and Naofumi. Tanya was used to this because she lived at war, watching bombs, artillery, and other kinds of weapons be shot. They were getting deeper and deeper into the ground. The blonde was sure that if they were not there, these shields would have cracked under pressure. They deactivated once the attack was ended.
"There seems to be no wounded," said Tanya as she did a quick checkup with her gem.
"This power..." whispered Malty. "It can't be..."
"It's the church of the three heroes" hissed Meiyo clenching her fists.
"FUck" was all Tanya could say.
