"A pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Stark," Naruto said as the two men shook hands. "Sunny please send him the all information on phase two." Tony to his credit had managed to wait a full five minutes before finally asking how much they wanted for the information.

"O-okay," Sunny said as she entered a few commands on her computer. They had agreed to sell him everything that shield had on weapons.

"Loki means to unleash the Hulk. Keep Banner in the lab, I'm on my way. Send Thor as well."

Naruto who still had his earpiece on heard Natasha's warning. This quickly caused him to panic a bit as he looked from Dr. Banner to Sunny.

"Alright we'll it's been fun but we should be going," Naruto said as he started to gather Sunny's things "Sunny we're leaving."

"What? B-b-but dad, we still haven't f-f-found the T-t-tesseract." Sunny tried to protest but her father wasn't listening. This also got confused looks from Bruce and Tony

"Going somewhere you two." Looking up Naruto saw that Furry had just walked into the lab.

"Yeah, off this boat." Naruto said as slung Sunny's bag over his shoulder "Come on Sunny."

"You walking away whenever you want isn't part of the deal agent Uzumaki." Fury said as he stepped up to the blonde.

"You want to try and stop me." Naruto said, "you heard Natasha if she's right I need to get Sunny out of here."

"That's not going to happen." Fury tried to calm the man down.

"You don't know that," Naruto said starting to get angry. Noticing the rising tension between both men Tony decided to cut it.

"Take it easy Fury I think there are bigger things to discuss like what's phase 2?" Tony suddenly shows his monitor which had a collection of secret shield files that he had just purchased from Naruto. However, before Fury could answer Steve walks into the lab and drops a Hydra assault rifle on the table causing everyone to turn around and look at the piss captain.

"Phase Two is shield using the cube to make weapons, sorry but your computer was moving a little too slow," Steve said turning to look at Sunny. At this sudden revelation Fury trying to explain.

"Rogers we gathered everything related to the Tesseract this doesn't mean we're..." but before Fury could say more he was interrupted by Tony who brought up blueprint schematics of experimental warheads powered by Tesseract energy.

"I'm sorry what were you lying to?" Tony said with a smirk.

"I was the wrong director the world hasn't changed a bit," Steve said sounding very disappointed. It was at that moment that Natasha and Thor walked into the lab the ladder keeping their eyes on the doctor. However, Bruce was looking pissed at Natasha.

"Did you know about this?" Bruce asked her as he pointed towards the screen that showed the weapons.

"You want to think about removing yourself from this environment doctor?" Natasha said trying to keep a level head.

"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed," Bruce said with a sigh of frustration

"Loki's manipulating you" Natasha yes to explain.

"And you've been doing what exactly" Bruce quickly shops back.

"What she's good at." Naruto cut in sounding a bit spiteful.

"Naruto now it not the time," Natasha said turning to glare at her brother.

"I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy, I would like to know why shield is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction," Bruce said pointing to Tony's screen.

"Because of him," Furry said pointing to Thor. No longer seeing any way around the subject.

"Me?" Thor was surprised by this fact.

"Last year Earth had a visit from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town we learned that not only are we not alone but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgun." Fury said.

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet." Thor tried to defend himself.

"But you're not the only people out there are you and you're not the only threat the worlds filling up with people who can't be matched they can't be controlled." Fury said losing his patience at having to explain his actions.

"Like you control the cube?" Steve said.

"Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it and his allies. it is the signal to all the realms that Earth is ready for a higher form of war." Thor exclaimed finally understanding what caused his brother to come to Earth.

"A higher form?" Steve said knowing too well the real horrors of war.

"You forced our hand we had to come up with something." Fury said as he and Natasha both looked at Naruto.

"Don't look at me I say keep making guns," Naruto said not to carry about shield-making weapons.

"Of course as long as it can benefit you but the second things get too hard you'll run off again," Natasha said as she pointed to the pack he had on his shoulder.

"Nuclear deterrent 'cause that always calms everything down," Tony said sarcastically.

"Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark?" Fury said as he gave Tony a hard look.

"I'm sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck-deep in all this," Steve said joining Fury at knocking Tony down.

"Wait, wait, hold on, how is this now about me?" Tony said wondering how this was suddenly his fault.

"Oh I'm sorry isn't everything?" Steve said in a condescending tone of voice.

"I thought humans were more evolved than this," Thor said not understanding how these people could not work together if they were of the same world.

"Hey, I resent that comment don't corral me in with them," Naruto said sounding offended by what the man said.

"Excuse me did we come to your planet and blow stuff up?" Fury snarkily said to Thor.

"Does Earth always give it's champion such mistrust?" Thor asked still not used to the way things are done on this planet.

"Are you all that naive shield monitors all potential threats!" Natasha said being somewhat of a realist among those in the room.

"Wait Captain America is on a potential threat watch list?" Banner said surprised by this.

"You're on that list now are you above or below angry bees," Tony said finding it very unlikely that the boy scout could be a threat.

"I swear to God Stark one more crack..."Steve and Tony were now in each other's faces as Fury Thor and Natasha faced off each other Dr. Banner were apart from all of them standing close to the scepter while Naruto and Sunny remained in the center.

"You speak of control yet you court chaos," Thor called out.

"It's his M. O. isn't it I mean what are we a team. . . no we're a chemical mixture that makes chaos we're. . .we're a time bomb," Bruce said becoming more agitated by the second.

"You need to step away, " Fury said as he and Natasha started to slowly reach for their sidearms. At this Naruto also began to slowly move himself and Sunny towards the exit of the lab.

"Why shouldn't the guy let off a little steam?" Tony said with a smirk as he plays an arm on Steve's shoulder.

"You know damn well why now back off!" Steve said as he roughly slapped Tony's hand off his shoulder. This only caused Tony to become more aggressive.

"Oh, I'm starting to want you to make me." The two were now facing off once again.

"Big man in a suit of armor take that away and what are you," Steve said

"Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist," Tony said with a satisfied smirk.

"Don't forget warmonger and mass murderer. just because you had a bad time in the desert and found a conscience doesn't change what you are Stark." Naruto said as he got another dirty look from Tony but unfortunately, the man knew nothing about Naruto to call him out on.

"I know guys with none of that worth ten of you yeah I've seen the footage the only thing you fight for is yourself you're not the guy to make the sacrifice play to lay down on the wire and let the other guy crawl over you," Steve said goadingly.

"I think I would just cut the wire." Tony shots back. This only caused Steve to smile as this confirmed Tony's true character to him.

"Always a way out you know you may not be a threat but you better stop pretending to be a hero," Steve said in a low tone of voice. However, this seemed to be the comment that broke the camel's back.

"The hero like you you're a lab rat Rogers everything special about you came out of a bottle," Tony said angrily and as everyone was distracted by fighting with each other Naruto and Sunny slipped out of the room.

"D-d-dad where are w-w-we going." Sunny asked as her father picked her up once they were outside of the lab and started to quickly make his way through the halls of the Helicarrier.

"I need to get you out of here Sunny something bad is about to happen and I can't risk you getting hurt," Naruto said as he started to get that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. He had had that same feeling once before and chose to ignore it. That decision turned out to be the worst one he had ever made. He vowed after that day he would never ignore that feeling again. They were almost to the hanger bay when the entire Helicarrier suddenly and violently began to rock back and forth causing both father and daughter to hit the ground hard.

"Damn it I hate being right you okay Sunny," Naruto said as he steadied himself to his feet and pulled Sunny up off the ground.

"Y-y-yeah I'm alright," Sunny said as she rubbed the now tender spot on her side where she had hit the ground.

"All agents to stations"

The call had come in through the Helicarrier intercom as all around them emergency alarms were sounding off. The ship was being attacked per Loki's plan and they were all of them now trapped inside the sinking ship.

"Uzumaki do you copy." It was Fury calling him through his earpiece however Naruto hesitated in choosing to answer. Finally, after a moment he decided not to and instead picked up a sunny and changing course he started to make his way towards the flight deck. All around them was chaos has agents were running around all over the place trying to get systems operational. The Helicarrier was soon rocked by a set of small tremors which could only mean that the Hulk was loose somewhere on the ship.

"We have a perimeter breach hostiles are in Shield gear call-outs at all junctions" The intercom sounded off again

"Sunny tune on your security blanket and put your hood on," Naruto said as he repositions the girl so that he had her piggyback.

"Dad I-I'm s-s-scared," Sunny said as she held on tightly to her father.

"It will be okay I promised your mother I would never let anything happen to you," Naruto said with a confident smile. With both, his hands now free and Sunny protected on his back invisible. Naruto reach down and pulled out his sidearm from its holster before continuing on his way to the flight deck.

He quickly and stealthily moved through the halls stopping at each junction. Luckily he had not run into any enemy hostels. Most likely they were focused around the Helicarrier's main flight systems and bridge. Grateful that he had remembered the way through the maze of halls from when he had first arrived on the helicary with Natasha, Dr. Banner, and Steve. In no time at all Naruto had reached the flight deck.

"Look sweetie, a quintet will be out of here in no time," Naruto called out over his shoulder as he began to make his way across the deck towards the quinjet.

W-w-what about auntie N-nat," Sunny asked worry audible in her voice. Practice Naruto had to pause before answering her.

"Don't worry about that though nothing can hurt her.," Naruto said hoping he sounded convincing enough. The strong winds were making it a bit difficult but halfway to the aircraft, he stopped dead in his tracks.

"D-d-dad it's him L-l-Loki," Sunny called out from over his shoulder her small voice trembling with fear. Naruto was not the only one with the same idea of trying to get off of the sinking Helicarrier. Stranding an equal distance from each other and the quinjet scepter in hand with a mischievous grin on his face was Loki of Asgard.

"Damn it" Naruto cursed under his breath. He had two options open to him. had could go back inside the Helicarrier and hope Fury's team would be able to get it to fly. Or take his chances against the god of mischief. However, with keeping Sunny safe being his top priority neither option was good enough for him.

"Sunny as soon as a put you down run back inside," Naruto said as he dropped the pack off his back.

"Dad y-y-you cant," Sunny tried to protest but her father had already pulled his mask back on.

"So the man in the mask thinks he can stop a god," Loki said with a dry laugh. With his mind made up, Naruto lowered Sunny from his back and pressed to button on his earpiece.

"This is Agent Uzumaki I have eyes on Loki and the scepter he's trying to escape will engage as long as possible send any back up to the flight deck." With that Naruto took off at a run towards Loki at speeds the Asgardian wasn't expecting. Loki had managed to fire off a few shots from his sector before he was forced to bring it up to block a slash from Naruto's sword.

"You are no ordinary mortal," Loki said as the two were at a stalemate each pushing back on the other.

"You have no idea," Naruto said as he wiped his head back before smashing it into Loki's face. With his opponent dazed Naruto jumped forward to try and slashed Loki across the neck. But the Asgardian summoned his golden armor and dropping his head deflected the blade with his helmet. Now on the attack, Loki brought his scepter around for a diagonal slash, but what Naruto hadn't expected was for it to suddenly become a long spear that was able to easily close the distance between the two of them.

"You still bleed like a mortal," Loki said as Naruto had to jump back after he had been cut deep on the exposed part of his left arm.

"You too," Naruto said at this Loki was confused till he brought a hand up felt the small trickle of blood coming from his nose.

"Crap'" Naruto thought as he quickly dodges to the side as Loki let off a furry of a blast from the scepter. Pulling out his 9mm handgun Naruto fired off a few shots which Loki had to use the scepter to block. Getting back to his feet he throws a few knives but Loki had been able to stop them with his daggers. Suddenly, he was surrounded by five Loki's each one of them was moving in closer.

"So that's how it feels," Naruto thought to himself as he holstered his gun and readied his sword. As the two in front of him moved to attack Naruto sidestepped them both and was able to cut them out of existence. However at all simply been a clever ruse because the second Naruto's back had been turned from the quinjet the remaining three Loki's vanished.

"Get back here you bastard," Naruto quickly called out as he rushed over to the quinjet unfortunately just as he was about to crash into Loki he vanished before Naruto could even register that he had been tricked by another illusion he had the wind knocked out of him when he felt something pierced him in his side. Looking down Naruto saw that the bladed tip of Loki's scepter had been run through his right side just below the rib.

"I grow weary of you insignificant humans but I have enough time to watch the life leave you." Loki had pulled the scepter so roughly out of Naruto it caused him to spin on the spot. In one quick motion, Loki had lifted Naruto single-handedly by the neck. With his one good arm, Naruto tried to fight the man off but he was having a hard time focusing at the edges of his vision started to blacken.

Suddenly the sound of a gunshot rang out and Naruto was dropped to the ground as Loki ran into the quinjet. The sound of several more gunshots went off as the quinjet took started to rise from the flight deck. Tenderly starting to rub his sore throat Naruto took in several raspy preps as he tried to get his breathing under control.

"Dad!" The sound of hearing footsteps drew near as Naruto was tackled back onto the ground. "D-d-dad your hurt."

"It's just a scratch I'll be fine Sunny don't worry," Naruto said as he hugged the frightened girl back. As the sound of the second set of footsteps drew closer Naruto looked past Sunny shoulder and saw who had come to his rescue.

"Thanks for the save Maria," Naruto said as he gave a grateful nod to Fury's second in command. Maria Hill gave Naruto a hard look as she put her gun back in its holster.

"What the hell were you thinking Naruto trying to take Loki on alone," Maria scolded and she looked at the still bleeding blonde.

"I need a medic unit on the flight deck I got an agent badly injured." She called out through her earpiece before finally letting her future soften a bit it took pity on the blunt and extended a hand to help him up. Naruto not being in the best shape at the moment gratefully accepted her help.

"Will you be all right?" Maria sincerely asked him finally getting a better look at his injured arm inside.

"Yeah don't worry about me just give me an hour and I'll be good as new," Naruto said with a great amount of discomfort. As Maria grabbed Naruto's only good arm at the moment and throw it over her shoulder to help him walk she paused for a moment when she felt a light tug on her pant leg. Looking down she saw that it was Sunny.

"Thank you for saving my dad." Both Naruto and Maria were surprised to hear Sunny speaking without her stutter.

"You're welcome Sunny," Maria said as they started walking back inside the Helicarrier. After a few minutes and being patched up by some medics Naruto was back on the bridge sitting at the table with Tony and Steve. The mood of the crew inside the bridge Naruto among them was of other defeat Naruto had heard when the call had to come in about Coulson's death. Although Naruto had not seen or spoken to him in two years back when he was in Shield he did count him among his closest friends.

"These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. Guess he never did get you to sign them," Fury said as he throws Coulson's Captain America trading cards on the table towards Steve. Steve picks them up, stained with blood.

"We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, location of the cube, Banner, Thor. I got nothing for you. Lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming." Furry pauses for a moment to think before looking back at all of them "Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number though, because I was playing something even riskier," Again like before in the lab when mentioning the Tesseract Fury look to Naruto which this time did not go unnoticed by Tony and Steve before continuing.

"There was an idea, Stark knows this, called THE AVENGERS INITIATIVE. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson Just joined the list of people who died still believing in that idea, in heroes." Tony gets up and walks off, not wanting to hear it anymore however Naruto is deep in thought.

"Well, it's an old-fashioned notion," Nick said as he watches Steve go after Tony. Looking over Naruto he saw that the blonde was still thinking about something. Turning to agent Hill, Fury gave her a knot of the head before motioning to Sunny. Understanding the director's unspoken order Maria walked over to the table and knelt to speak to Sunny.

"Hey Sunny why don't we just go get you cleaned up and then try to find something for you and your dad to eat," She offered with an uncharacteristically kind smile.

"Okay," Sunny said and she allowed herself to be let out of the bridge by the woman.

"And what about you Uzumaki have you finally decided to become a part of this team," Fury said as he sat down at the table and looked over at the man. "There was more than one quinjet on the flight deck you didn't have to take Loki on." And Fury was right if he was trying to escape he didn't need to face down Loki Naruto thought. This had been the reason he, Natasha, and Olga had decided to join up with shield all those years ago. They're all deciding they were done being mindless assassins and instead would work towards trying to make the world a safer place.

"You know Olga it was the one that convinced me to sign up for The Avengers Initiative and go through with the Tesseract testing," Naruto said as he let out a small chuckle. "I never blame shield for what happened to her not really you know that right." He said looking over at the man who had become a mentor to him.

"Yeah I know," Fury said understanding all too well what it was like for someone who was dealing with survivor guilt. "What do you think I gave you those two years off." Fury said with a small smirk. At this Naruto let out a genuine laugh.

"All right, agent Naruto Uzumaki code name Gray Fox reporting for duty director," Naruto said we're confident and for a brief moment Fury saw the blonde's sapphire eyes glow.

"Then suit up the rest of the team is on the move." Fury said his emotions one of the monitors they showed Steve in his full Captain America gear, Natasha, and Clint walking through the hella carrier hallways towards the hangar bay.

"Got room for one more?" Naruto said as he walked into the quinjet. Steve, Natasha, and Clint turned around all of them surprised to see Naruto.
