Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or its original characters. No copyright infringement is intended with the posting of these outtakes.

A/N: If you read Roadies then you're familiar with how these work. First and foremost, they're not beta'd, so heads up. You'll also want to read each outtake *after* you've read it's corresponding chapter so they'll make sense, as they won't flow from one to the next the same way the main story does.

For this story I'll update with a new outtake every time I update Bored, but because Bored is already up to chapter 6 the outtakes will always be 5 behind on FFn. Of course, you can still get them quicker by leaving me your words in a review which is how I like to say saying thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me after reading. :)

Enjoy!

..Emmett..

While pouring myself a shot of cheap whisky at the counter, my mother's high pitch squeal and uncontrolled happy sobs continue to linger in my head.

This pushes me to throw back a second helping, but for now, I force myself to stop there.

Her reaction to my news was predictable.

That's not what's bothering me.

What's bothering me is seeing my life packed up in the hallway and realizing all I've needed are four medium size boxes to hold everything that still belongs to me.

My best friend is pretending to be busy, but I've already noticed him pause more than once in the kitchen while he's waited for an invitation to speak.

"Your silent judgement is deafening, Cullen. Get your ass over here and help me finish off this bottle before I throw it at you."

"Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but you're starting to look like you might jump from the roof later if I leave it alone," he jokes as he takes a seat on the bar stool across from me, "Did it not go well?"

"We're good. She was fine. She's actually crazy excited about us coming."

Before I can pour myself a third and final round, Edward takes the bottle from me and finishes off what's left without apologizing.

This is probably good since I'm supposed to sneak around back in about thirty minutes to meet a buyer for my iPad and MacBook Pro.

"So what's the issue? Remember, this is a safe space, Emmett Swan. A judgement free zone. Get it out, brother. You'll feel better if you do. Promise."

His challenge receives my middle finger and I let out a frustrated groan before leaning forward to run my hands deeply into my hair, "Returning… and the fact I'm dragging my ass back out of necessity... it's not going to go over very well with a few people."

Edward shrugs indifferently.

He slides the empty bottle back and forth in front of us.

"Alright. Tough love time. Shut the hell up and stop being so damn dramatic. If we don't go we'll be screwed. California is drowning in this shit with no end in sight, and we're four months behind on rent. In less than two weeks time this city will be crawling in 'End of Times' like conditions and at that point we'll be living off condiments and sugar packets." He pauses to take a breath. When I remain silent he doesn't hesitate to continue, "Look, Emmett, we've put it off long enough. Now that we've gotten clearance to travel, it's time for us to go. Not to mention, the beer is completely gone and so is the liquor. We both agreed, once the bottles disappeared from the shelves we'd put this place in our rearview mirror."

I know he's right, but the truth doesn't make any of this easier.

When I left home, it was with a purpose.

Thankfully, my parents understood my sudden need to disappear and they've never given me a hard time about it.

My sister, though… She's a different story.

Since the day I left she's refused to speak to me on the phone or even acknowledge I still walk this earth.

Lord knows, I've tried.

I've sent her a birthday gift every year, and more than a couple friendly follow requests on social media.

She's seen them.

I know she has.

But she's chosen to let them sit in purgatory from her laptop, because she knows it drives me fucking nuts.

Yup, my return won't be easy, but truth be told, Bella will be the least of my problems while I'm there.

Me bringing my best friend along should help counter some of the teen melodrama that's sure to rise up, but it still won't save me.

Not completely.

With Edward though, at least I know I won't lose my mind while we ride out this second wave in a three bedroom, two bath house with my crazy ass family.
