I woke up once again and walked out to the kitchen. I poked my head in there and saw nothing. I shrugged it off and headed somewhere else. I think I'll read a book for a bit. I read a couple of pages before I heard a knock on the door. I looked up and said "Come in." The door opened and it revealed Twilight. I smiled and looked at her. "Good morning, Twilight." Twilight smiled back at me and said "Good morning, Zach. How are you feeling this morning?" I said "I'm doing okay. I went into the kitchen to find something, but there was nothing happening in there, so I came up here." Twilight said "Oh good, because I have a surprise for you." I got curious and said "Really? What is it?" Twilight giggled a bit and said "You'll have to come down with me." Okay then. I walked down the hall to the dining room with Twilight and I saw something sitting on the table.

I asked "What is this?" Twilight came over and said "It's a special soup that I decided to make for you this morning. The flower I put in there is said to increase your physical strength and endurance throughout the day. It's just my way of showing how much I appreciate you." I smiled and said "Thanks Twilight. I appreciate how much work you put into this. But here's something I want to give as my appreciation for you." Twilight seemed confused and asked "What would that be?" I pulled her close to me and gave her a passionate kiss. I don't do this very often, but when I do, I make sure it counts. Twilight embraced it and returned it back. After a few seconds, we pulled away and stared into each other's eyes. Those beautiful violet orbs are so easy to get lost into. They really do shine brighter than any star that exists out in the night sky. I don't mean to offend you God, but I'm just expressing how beautiful my marefriend is. Hopefully, that doesn't violate the Bible. I don't think so, but you never know these days. Anyways, moving on. I took the bowl of soup and basically downed the whole thing. After I put it back down, I let out a loud burp and I looked away embarrassingly. Twilight playfully shook her head and stared at me. "I guess someone enjoyed their meal." I guess I did. I said "In some cultures back home, burping actually means you have enjoyed your meal which is kinda interesting if you think about it." Twilight nodded and said "Well, we gotta stop over by the school."

I was confused and said "I thought you got everything out of there before Starlight took over." Twilight shook her head and said "There are still a couple of last minute things I need to get out of there before we take the throne in Canterlot." Oh, I see. I said "Oh, okay. Got it." We walked out and I waited at the front door before we left because she had to grab a few things. Once she came down, I smiled and looked at her. "Ready to go, my beautiful princess?" Twilight giggled and said "Of course, my handsome prince." We walked together with our hooves and paws together and tails intertwined as we walked to the School of Friendship. We finally arrived and Twilight began heading down the hall. I suddenly started feeling weird and grunted a bit. Twilight stopped and turned around to see if I was okay. "Are you okay, Zach?" I nodded and said "I'm okay, Twilight. Really I am. I think I have to go use the bathroom. I'll be back. Go get your things while you still can." Twilight nodded and headed to her old Headmare's office. Now, I need to figure out what the heck is going on.

Something just ain't right and I intend to figure out what. What the?! Why am I seeing Nightmare King?! AGH! Dad gum it! There's that pain again. Euugghhh… MUST. KILL. AND. DESTROY. Ah, screw it. Here goes nothing. I quickly fired up my scepter and teleported my friends excluding Twilight and the Student Six to the lobby. They were all yelling in confusion as to why they were suddenly teleported and why they are here. Time to make my appearance. "Not another step." All of them turned towards me and began demanding answers as to why they were brought here in the first place. He he. They'll find out soon enough. It only fuels my hatred and gives me more power. "Did you really expect me to stand by while they all basked in your false prophecies?!" All of them were confused and asked "False prophecies?" I came up to the platform that was created and stood on top of it. "There can only be one ruler in Equestria, and that ruler will be ME!" I slammed my paws down on the platform which smashed it into pieces and my eyes glowed white for a second. The shadow of my crown appeared behind me, forming cracks in the wall and burst open the stained glass window behind me which sent pieces flying to the creatures in front of me. They all had to shield themselves from the flying debris and they looked at me in horror. I lifted myself up and started raising the Moon in front of the Sun using my scepter. Once it blocked the Sun, it created a solar eclipse and made shadows appear.

I smiled proudly and the shadows engulfed me into an orb. The transformation has begun. All of my friends outside were watching in fear because of what was going on. Oh wait. They're not friends. They are now my enemies who need to be destroyed. Finally, the orb broke and I was revealed in a new form. My eyes turned to Dragon slits with purple mist coming out of it, my claws were now much sharper, my teeth were now a bunch of jaws from a shark, my eagle wings turned into dragon ones, my scepter has now turned into a long red curved horn, and my crown was bigger and looked similar to Sombra's. Now I am Nightmare King! HA HA HA! While this transformation was happening, I was laughing evilly the entire time and when I finally stepped back down, the Moon turned back to normal and everyone there was in complete shock of what they just saw. Once I stopped laughing, I had an evil glare and looked towards the group. They all backed away in fear and I started destroying the pillars that held up the school from one side to another using my new profound dark magic. They all dodged the attack and hit the ground meeting Twilight right there.

She was clearly upset and she went to observe who was destroying her school. I came walking through with a stare on my face with my wings fully extended out as the dust was clearing. I was about as tall if not taller than Nightmare Moon. Anyway, Twilight flew up to get a closer look at me and I was having none of it. I gave her a glare and blasted her with my magic. Twilight flew to the side and back down onto the ground. Finally, Rainbow said "Zachary! This is not you! You have to fight it!" I simply stared there in silence and didn't say anything. Twilight said "Zach, I don't want to have to fight you. You must lower the Moon! That's Luna's duty!" I simply stared at her and said "Zachary? I am Nightmare King! I have but one royal duty now. TO DESTROY YOU!" I reared myself back before blasting more dark magic at Twilight. She quickly flew up and fled through the hole I had created. OH NO YOU'RE NOT! YOU GET BACK HERE! I simply smirked and said "And where do you think you're going?!" I flew up and chased after her. Rainbow, Fluttershy, Gallus, Silverstream, Smolder, and Ocellus all followed me for some reason, but I didn't focus on them. I have an enemy to kill here. I'll deal with them later. I shot Twilight another evil glare and started blasting magic her way. She kept dodging it and flying in all directions, but I knew that wouldn't last.

I am determined to get her and finally kill her. As I was trying to get her and missing most of my shots, I was also destroying the School of Friendship in the process because I figured I can kill two birds with one stone. However, I quickly saw Celestia and Luna walking over to their balcony in Canterlot to see what was going on. NO! I can't let them see what's happening, because they are a problem and will try to end my reign! I blasted magic their way and it knocked them out. Ha ha. I'll take care of you two later on. Anyways, back to the main target. The creatures behind me were in horror of what they saw happen, but didn't try to do anything. That's good or else I'll kill you right here right now in five seconds. I aimed for one last shot and I finally nailed Twilight right in the chest. She screamed in horror and fell back inside the School of Friendship. The group behind me yelled "TWILIGHT!" and rushed down to tend to her. My eyes glowed white again and I had a smirk on my face. I laughed evilly once again and I made it echo all across the school. Now, it's time to attack.

Unlike that fool, Nightmare Moon, who never did anything, I shall begin my attack. I flew down and started raiding through the classrooms. Everyone in there started screaming and those screams were music to my ears. I charged up my magic and used plundervines to grab them and then trap them inside so they couldn't escape. Suddenly, I felt something hit me and I turned around to see where it came from. I guess the Student Six got motivated or something, but they couldn't bring me down. I'm the most powerful creature in all of Equestria! NOTHING COULD EVER BRING ME DOWN! I heard Yona say "Yona and Friends defeat evil pegasus before! Can defeat evil lion as well!" Oh, you have no idea. I am MUCH more powerful than that stupid Cozy Glow. She got imprisoned to stone because of her foolishness. Her own pride was her downfall. Yona charged at me, but I blocked her with Plundervines which knocked her down. Smolder was the next one to attack me and used her fire breath, I opened my mouth and blasted red magic against the fire breath. Mine quickly overtook hers and knocked her unconscious. Ocellus hesitated but eventually changed into my "goody two shoes" form and blasted magic using that scepter that my "good" form had. I responded by using my super overpowered dark magic and pushing it as hard as I could. Somehow, I got overtaken and got knocked down.

NO! I WILL NOT LET SOME CHANGELING BRAT USE MY OWN MAGIC AGAINST ME! Ocellus changed back to her original form and her friends congratulated her for knocking me out. You will pay for that, you little brat. I growled lowly and was about to attack. Gallus saw me and said "Ocellus, look out!" But, it was already too late. I had pounced on Ocellus with my body and the plundervines restrained her from moving. I put an antimagic ring on her horn so she couldn't change forms with ease. I'm a lot smarter than you think, foolish creatures. I looked at them and gave them an angry glare. "Does anyone else here want to interfere with my plans or will you finally shut up?!" No one made a move and I smirked. "Good. I have a Headmare to find. Ha ha ha. HA HA HA!" I disappeared into my shadow form and took off to find that pathetic Starlight. I destroyed the school even more and left all the rooms in complete chaos. Those screams of terror sound so good. They will all pay for their foolishness. I went inside Starlight's office and presented myself. Starlight was horrified at the sight of me and moved back slowly.

"Well, well, well. If it ain't Starlight Glimmer, the self proclaimed Headmare of this school." Starlight quickly got mad and said "Who are you and what do you want?!" I responded with evil laughter and said "I am Nightmare King! You might have recognized me in my disgusting "goody two shoes" form." Starlight's eyes went as wide as dinner plates and said in fear "Zachary?" I growled and said "NO! I AM NOT HIM! DON'T YOU DARE USE THAT NAME! I AM NIGHTMARE KING AND I SHALL CONQUER ALL OF EQUESTRIA!" Starlight looked at me with determination and said "You will never take over Equestria and you will NOT harm any of my students!" I simply laughed and said "Oh really? Such determination. It's kinda funny that you were once the most dangerous villain in all of Equestria, but when you face an actual villain like Chrysalis, Cozy, or even me, you stand no chance." I was walking around her making sure I got inside her head before I attacked. She started to get emotional and said "Stop it! That was a long time ago!" I laughed some more and said "Do you really think that you were that dangerous? The worst you ever did was take away ponies' cutie marks and almost destroy the world, but I can create an entire empire that would be unstoppable and I shall kill anyone who stands in my way." It will happen. Nothing will stop me.

Starlight now had tears running down her face and she said "ENOUGH! Don't you dare bring up my dark past!" I laughed evilly once more and said "I can bring it up if I want. You were NOTHING compared to the other villains and never will be. Now, I shall be going. But first…" I opened my mouth and forcefully ripped out Starlight's magic from her body. Yes, I have the power of Tirek, so I can do that. She was screaming in pain because of how violently it got ripped out, but I didn't care. After a few seconds, she fell to the ground with her eyes faded and her cutie mark gone. I summoned my plundervines and it wrapped her up in the corner like an egg sac. "Now if you excuse me, I have a kingdom to conquer. Ha ha ha. HA HA HA!" I went back into my shadow form and left the School of Friendship. I changed the sky from very dark blue to reddish orange. It looked similar to how that alternate timeline with Sombra in it looked. Before I turned to Ponyville, I charged up my horn and blasted the School of Friendship to pieces one last time to where the building didn't stand.

It had now fallen and anyone that got trapped inside had now been killed. Oh well. I turned to Ponyville and blasted a lot of dangerous magic in the town. Suddenly, ponies were screaming and running for their lives. I put myself on loudspeaker and said with my eyes being white "PONIES! HEAR MY VOICE AND LISTEN!" They all stopped and looked at me in horror. One of them yelled "What have you done with Prince Zachary?!" I simply laughed and said "That fool is gone. Now I, Nightmare King, reign over Equestria and shall conquer it!" Another one yelled "You will never have Equestria!" I rolled my eyes and said "That's what everyone says. And I say "I will." So old and boring. Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned in that fool's body ever since he was born almost 30 years ago?!" No one said anything, so I continued. "Mankind has been evil since the beginning of time and they have driven me to the bone. But now, *laughs evilly* They shall pay. And as for you, my little ponies, oh I have some great things in store for you. Remember this day little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will LAST FOREVER! HA HA HA! HA HA HA!" The night shall last forever because darkness reigns in the night! All of them were scared and started backing away. I lit up my horn and started destroying Ponyville. They started running in fear and I laughed evilly. The magic I used started burning down houses and catching them on fire since they weren't exactly built with the best of quality.

[Insert The Resistance from Skillet]

Seriously, this town looks like it came from the 1800's. It's time to get some more modern architecture in this pathetic little town. While I was destroying buildings, I put some large speakers everywhere and put on "The Resistance" from Skillet on full blast because it added emphasis to my reign of terror. Also, these speakers were fireproof and magicproof, so they couldn't get easily destroyed. I don't want to destroy my own equipment. That would be quite bad. Suddenly, I heard a voice say "Stop this instant!" I turned around and saw the Mane Six with determined looks on their faces. Oh, I can't wait to crush their hopes when I easily defeat them. I laughed some more and said "Do you ponies really think you can stop me?! You are clearly mistaken. You don't even have the Elements of Harmony anymore and even if you released the magic from within, you would still need me. There are seven, not six, remember? My "good" form was already the most powerful creature in all of Equestria, so with me involved, I'm even more powerful."

I charged up my horn and blasted them. They started running and I kept blasting them. Finally, they ran to the castle and closed the doors. I stopped following them and went back to attack Ponyville. "I'll deal with you six later. You won't get away forever." I went back to Ponyville and continued to attack it. This is my world and they can never have it. If they aren't for us, who can stand against us? The darkness will always win. The light thinks it can defeat the darkness, but given the right circumstance, the tables can turn. Equestria has seen it's fair share of villains. Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, Sombra, Tirek, Starlight, the Pony of Shadows, and Cozy Glow. But none of them can ever compare to someone like me. All of them made impacts in this nation, but I will leave the greatest mark out of all of them. It will be so great that it shall shake the very foundation of this country and crumble before my eyes. I noticed that the Mane Six came back out with panic on their faces. I heard Twilight say "I had used the wrong flower!" What do you mean? "I thought I was getting this kind of flower, but instead, I got this flower! They look so similar, but the difference was the seeds. One has them up top, while the other one has them under the pedals." Huh. How fascinating. I didn't know that beforehand. But that sounds pretty amazing.

"Because I gave him the wrong flower, it caused him to release his animal instinct and terrorize Ponyville! This is all my fault!" Yeah, it is all your fault. Now, I'll make you pay. Of course, her friends tried to comfort her and all that crap, but I could care less. I said tauntingly "Oh how sad. The Princess of Friendship is upset because she made a mistake. How tragic." Rainbow said "Shut up, Nightmare King!" I growled and said "NO! ONLY I TELL YOU TO BE QUIET! I AM ROYALTY AND YOU ARE NOT!" Applejack whispered "Yeah, an evil kind of one." I glared at Applejack and said "Care to repeat that, you incompetent farm animal?!" Applejack gasped in horror and said "HOW DARE YA SAY THAT! THAT'S HITTIN' WAY BELOW THE BELT!" I rolled my eyes and said "I don't care. You know, it's quite funny how you are all mad at me, but when each of you screwed up, you were quickly forgiven. You look at me as a tyrant, yet you fall flat on your faces all the time." They were all confused and Rainbow asked "What are you talking about?" You'll find out in a second.

I smiled and said "I remember explicitly that each of you went through some sort of trial throughout the last year or so. I called them The Six Trials. Let's see if you all remember them. Pinkie Pie when she went to Cheese Sandwich's factory. Rainbow Dash when she didn't want to coach the cheer squad. Rarity when she was jealous of Spike hanging out with Gabby instead of her. Applejack when she had that bitter rivalry with Rainbow at Trivia Trot. Fluttershy when she neglected the Cutie Mark Crusaders and let them turn into adults. And let's not forget about Twilight. He he. The nightmare of having her beloved lion attack and kill her. I created each of those situations and gained power from the negative emotions that radiated off of you. Each scenario had a different level of power. Fluttershy's was the weakest while Twilight's was the strongest. Because of that, I was able to get the strength I needed to finally break free." All of them stood in horror for a second before turning to furious rage. Rarity said "You monster!" I said "Really? I hadn't noticed. Thanks for the heads up." Rainbow lunged at me, but I stopped her attack with the plundervines and wrapped her up in them. Also, the Student Six were listening to the conversation as well. I have a surprise waiting for them. "Anyone else want to foolishly try to attack me? Because I can keep going here." No one said anything, so I continued. "That's what I thought. You can't defeat me no matter how hard you try."

I smiled some more and continued. "Face it. You guys have lost. I have bided my time waiting for the right time to strike and now I have my opportunity." I turned to Twilight and flew up in the air. "Thank you princess, for doing exactly as I expected you to do. Now, all of Equestria will fall and you have NOPONY to blame but YOURSELF! Ha ha ha. HA HA HA!" I wrapped my plundervines around the Student Six and they all said "What's happening? Wait! No. No. NO! HELP US!" I finally engulfed them into my plundervines and teleported them away somewhere else. Applejack asked Twilight "Twilight, what have ya done?!" Twilight could only stand there in complete silence and said quietly "I don't know." Now, it's time to take them out. I lit up my horn and blasted them all. I attacked them all with my fangs, I used my teeth to leave marks on their bodies and draw out blood to make me stronger, I used my claws to leave scratches on their bodies, and I blasted them multiple times. They tried to stop me, but I was way too fast.

Finally, I defeated them all with one giant blast and that put them on the ground ready to pass out. I laughed evilly some more and looked at them with an evil grin. "Give it up guys. You're no match for me. I'm not like the other villains who act foolish and never bother to claim a victory before gloating about it. I do the dirty work first and then gloat. Once I have you all out of my way, NOTHING CAN EVER STOP ME! HA HA HA! HA HA HA!" I spread out my dragon wings and took off. Time to destroy some more buildings. That music is still going full blast. That's pretty dang incredible. After terrorizing some more ponies, I smiled at them and licked my lips. "Prepare to die, my little ponies." As I was going to eat them, they suddenly disappeared. I growled and roared in anger. I turned around and saw the Mane Six once again. But they looked worn out. "YOU REALLY ARE A THORN IN MY SIDE, YOU KNOW THAT?!" Twilight didn't care and said "You might get the upper hand most of the time, but you can never truly defeat friendship!" Oh dear me. I said "Spare me that ridiculous friendship speech." Suddenly, Pinkie said "Hey! It's not very nice to leave shards of Crystal all over the place! They belong in the Crystal Empire!" Crystals. Yes. He he. Okay, time to switch gears. I said "Crystals. Yes." I transformed once again and this time, Sombra was revealed once more. While that happened, the group said "Pinkie!" and she said "Oops!" Yeah, you made the same mistake in Starlight's village.

Once Sombra was revealed, everypony had glares of furious rage on their faces. Twilight said "Sombra! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH ZACH?!" He simply smirked and said "What do you think I've done, you foolish pony?" Rarity said "You were the one that made him say such vile things to us! How dare you try to harm our friend's poor head!" Sombra simply laughed and Rainbow said "What's so funny, creep?!" Sombra smiled and said "You thought you ponies had actually defeated me all that time ago. You should have known that I had returned." Just wait until they hear about how long you've been around for. Twilight asked "How did you return this time?!" Sombra looked at Twilight and said "Simple, you arrogant pony! I let that prince serve his rampage before he let me take over!" Applejack stood there in disbelief and said "Ya mean to tell me, you've been in his body all that time?!" Sombra nodded and said "Correct, Applejack." Rainbow said "How long have you been in there?!" Sombra smirked and said "Since the time he became prince." All of them had their eyes shrink down to pinpricks and couldn't believe their eyes.

Twilight said "But-but That was over five and a half years ago! How could you be in there all that time?!" Sombra laughed and said "Ever since that foolish lion defeated me that long ago, I cursed him with dark magic that would linger in him for the next couple of years. When I returned about a year ago, I saw the progress I had made. When you all defeated me again, I went back inside his body and continued to expand the seeds of darkness that lies inside him. When Twilight gave him that flower that I had created, it threw all logic and common sense out the window and made him transform into Nightmare King!" Twilight was standing there in horror and said "All this time… How come he never told any of us?" You'll find out. Sombra smirked and said "Because he didn't want to worry any of you with his problems. Especially you, Twilight. Considering how disgustingly close you are with one another." Fluttershy said "I can't believe he never told any of us." Rarity said "Indeed darling. We could have helped him!" Rainbow said "Yeah! Friends always help each other out with their problems." Applejack said "That's right! Friends stick together no matter what!" Pinkie said "That sounds so depressing. I wish we had known. We could've helped him!" Twilight said "I feel so awful. He's been suffering all this time and he told me everything was fine. I knew something was wrong." Of course there was.

Sombra said "It's sad, isn't it? He was suffering all this time and because you never bothered to help him, he fell into my trap and is gone for good!" Twilight glared at Sombra and said "None of this would have EVER HAPPENED IF YOU DIDN'T INFECT HIM WITH YOUR DARK MAGIC!" Sombra smirked and said "I didn't cause it. I was only an effect of it. It was your incompetence and foolishness that led to this incident. It's funny really. You all think I'm the bad guy, yet, you're sometimes just as bad as that foolish Draconequus. Do you really think that your friend came to be with desperation? Of course not. I saw an opportunity to show him the truth about how much his life sucked and how much he hated himself." Everypony went silent and Twilight asked "What are you talking about?!" Sombra gave an evil grin and said "The boy always hated himself and always thought he was a nuisance to society. Even if he never did anything wrong, he always thought no one wanted to hang around him because of how embarrassing and weird he acted." It was true.

"He thought that the world would be much better without him and fled to Equestria. That gave him reason to hate humanity because of how stupid it became and a lot of idiots were running around to burn his country to the ground. He became so sick and tired of his own generation that it gave Nightmare King motivation to transform and wipe out his own kind from existence because of the foolishness and stupidity that radiates from all of them. It's quite genius if you think about it. I wanted to follow suit as well. It would have been so nice to have all of you executed with the prince's royal seal on it, but you saw how that turned out. However, this is much better!" Twilight gasped in horror and said "THAT WAS YOU?! I should have figured. Since we're your worst enemy, you would want us killed!" Sombra smirked and said "Yes, I would. You six have gone into the way of my plans for this prince so many times now that I had just about enough of it! Particularly you, Twilight! Every time I've tried to get that prince to transform into evil, you would always stop me from doing that with compassion and kindness to him. But now, the tables have turned. Because, nothing can stop me!" That's right. Those ridiculous ponies could try over and over again, but they would still fail every time. It's just that simple. Take it away, Sombra.

[Insert Back from the Dead from Skillet}

Sombra began singing this song and was basically haunting the Mane Six saying how it felt to be forgotten and no one shall forget him now. Feel the rush of adrenaline, baby! He might be down, but never out. Never count him out! For so long, these fools have kept the King of Shadows down, but now, he's free and he'll be for good. They took a bite at him, and he's biting back in a big way! He's back from the dead, people! Hail to the King baby! After the song was over, he laughed some more and looked at all of them once more. "Well, now if you excuse me, I have an Empire to take over! Ha ha ha. HA HA HA!" I went into my shadow form and took off to the Crystal Empire. Once I arrived, I had my dark clouds of shadow surround the city. Ponies started running in fear and Sombra used dark crystals to trip them up. One of the families ran to their house, but their little daughter fell. Time to attack. Sombra appeared in his pony form and gave an evil grin at the filly. The parents came over and glared at Sombra. Oh, you'll be obeying us in about two seconds.

Sombra used his fear spell on the family and their eyes had turned green. Suddenly, a spear got thrown in my direction and Sombra turned to see who it was that was trying to interfere with his plans. It turns out it was the Crystal Guards. We shall take care of that! Sombra blasted a large crystal under him and sent the guards flying. He switched forms with me and I bit them with my teeth marks just so they could be more cooperative. Blood started flowing down and then I switched back with Sombra. He put on his Crystal Empire helmets that were seen in the Season 5 finale and when the guards set themselves straight, he put them on. After about five seconds, we had the soldiers following behind us in those helmets and Sombra used dark crystals to get up to the castle. We hopped in and Sombra held Flurry Heart hostage. I knew that both Shining and Cadence would come running, so I figured that would draw them here. Sure enough, the doors burst open and Sombra gave them both an evil grin. Flurry did manage to say "Momma" in desperation, but I paid no attention to that. Cadence wanted to blast me to pieces, but Shining blocked her from doing so. She said "You won't get away with this." That's what they all say. It's so tiring at this point. Sombra simply smirked and said "Oh, but I already have." He has. He set Flurry in his hoof and tried playing with her a bit. Obviously, she didn't like that and tried to bite him. She missed as expected, and Sombra laughed evilly.

Sombra recaptured the Crystal Heart and set it on two dark crystals that were hanging over the throne. "With the Crystal Heart now in my possession, there is NOTHING TO STOP ME FROM RULING THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE!" I agree. The brainwashed guards brought the hostages to the throne and I smiled. How good that feels. "Kneel before Sombra!" You better. The guards pointed their spears at Shining and Cadence and both of them bowed while Flurry watched in sadness. Sombra laid back into his throne and relaxed. "Ah, long live the King!" Exactly. Sombra eventually took the chains off and trapped them in dark crystals. They tried breaking out, but it failed miserably. Even Flurry tried, but it didn't do anything. Sombra looked over and smirked. "That's cute that you think that will do anything." Cadence growled and said "It might not, but a certain group of ponies will!" Sombra laughed and said "Really? The Mane Six? In case you forgot, the Elements of Harmony were destroyed by me a long time ago! Ha ha ha. HA HA HA!" They were shocked and looked at Sombra in fear.

Suddenly, the Mane Six came in, but were so exhausted. Cadence saw them and asked "What happened to you all?" You'll find out. Sombra laughed and said "Just a local neighborhood friend did something." Shining glared at Sombra and said "What did you do to her, you monster?!" Sombra laughed and said "Let me show you." Sombra switched forms and I was revealed. Both him and Cadence were shocked and horrified at what they saw. I gave an angry glare at both of them and showed all of my predatory teeth. "As you can see, that prince that you are friends with suffered the effects of a certain flower that your favorite family member retrieved to show her "appreciation" for him. I let him go on a glorious rampage throughout their sweet little hometown and once he was done, that's when I took over." Shining growled "You monster!" Sombra laughed and said "Is that it? You incompetent ponies really need to come up with better insults. It's so boring nowadays." Rainbow said with confidence "We will defeat you Sombra!" I don't think so. Sombra said "How are you going to do that? In case you forgot, you don't have the Elements of Harmony anymore. I destroyed it! Ha ha ha! Even if you tried to defeat me, you would still need him! There's no point anymore in trying. So you might as well give up. But first, I need a change in weather." Sombra lit up his horn and unleashed the Frozen North upon the Empire. Now, that's more like it. So much better.

Applejack said "Oh no, you ain't doin' that again!" I think he will. Sombra grinned and said "Or what? Without that seventh element, your "magic of friendship" is useless! Because of that, it gives me an advantage. With the most powerful creature in all of Equestria under my total control now, NOTHING SHALL EVER STOP ME FROM CONQUERING EQUESTRIA! HA HA HA! HA HA HA!" Time to bring things up a notch. Guards came in with a box and Sombra smiled. "Bring the artifact forward!" The guards stopped at the throne and Sombra opened up the box. Yes. I have waited for this artifact for a long time. Returning to its original creator. Sombra brought out the artifact and wrapped it around his neck. Then suddenly, he gained alicorn wings. The Alicorn Amulet has returned home. Sombra laughed evilly some more and everypony stood there in horror. Twilight said "Bu-But HOW?!" You'll find out. Sombra laughed and said "The Alicorn Amulet was originally created by me. When those foolish alicorn sisters banished me to the Frozen North, that alicorn magic I had went with it."

That's quite sad to hear. "It was trapped into this amulet and I have been trying to get it back for so long, but now, I FINALLY HAVE IT!" I heard Cadence whisper "I never knew there was a sixth alicorn." Of course there was. Sombra looked at her and said "Of course there was. I was born that way. But like I said, those foolish alicorn sisters took that power away from me and had their beloved mentor trap it into some amulet! But now, that doesn't matter. Now, with the returned power of mine, I AM THE MOST POWERFUL BEING IN EQUESTRIA! Thanks to that flower I created in the Everfree Forest!" Twilight was so ashamed and said quietly "This is all my fault. If I hadn't picked that up, this never would have happened. Now, I turned the creature I care about most into a monster." Sombra smirked and said "I did, didn't I?" Sombra walked over to the balcony and looked over the Empire. I looked and saw Celestia and Luna breaking through the frozen clouds, so Sombra growled with fury and cast a spell from his horn that would just bury them into those clouds. I can't let them interfere with my plans and definitely not Sombra's either. This is great. I am right at the grasp of bringing Equestria to its knees. It took me this long, but it was well worth the wait. Suddenly, I got pounced on and I growled in fury. Sombra did as well and started attacking them. They all were running around and getting a few hits here and there, but Sombra was quickly gaining ground. Yes, that's more like it.

Now that he's an alicorn, he is a lot more powerful than how he was as a unicorn. The only problem was Twilight. She was also an alicorn, so that might be an issue. But it's nothing we can't handle. Finally, Sombra was able to defeat the group and left them pretty weak. Sombra slammed Twilight into the wall and he allowed me to go for the kill shot. We switched forms and Twilight looked in horror. "Goodbye Princess. Any last words?" I growled and showed my predatory teeth ready to pounce. Twilight looked at me with a glimpse of hope and said "I love you." What? I was confused on what that meant and then I felt something being injected. No! She got the antidote. I dropped her and I roared in anger! I said "NO! YOU CAN'T DEFEAT ME! I AM THE MOST POWERFUL VILLAIN IN EQUESTRIA!" Sombra started leaving my body and said "NOOOO! I SHALL HAVE MY REVENGE!" Suddenly, he was gone and then I blacked out. I woke up a few seconds later and looked around. Ugh. What happened? I said "What happened?" All of my friends pounced on top of me and hugged me as if they just got me back.

They eventually got up and I was able to get a good look around. Once I saw Twilight, my face went pale white. I recognize those claw marks. There's only one kind of creature that does that and I'm one of them. No. I did it. I committed the one sin I never wanted to. Hurting Twilight. I almost tried to kill her, didn't I? All this around me confirms it. I restored everything back to the way it was with my scepter, but I started backing away in fear. Twilight said "Zach? Where are you going?" I said "No please. Stay back. I've just hurt you and I can't do it again." Twilight had hurt in her eyes and said "Zach… don't do it." I'm sorry. I can't. I said "I'm sorry Twilight. I just can't." I went into my shadow form and fled the Crystal Empire. I need to get as far away from Twilight as possible. I've already hurt her once, I can't do it again. I'm a monster and I don't want anybody around me right now. Twilight. Please don't come after me. I'm not worth the risk.

Some of you may have noticed, but I used the Alicorn Amulet backstory from one of Sawtooth Waves's videos about how Sombra potentially was an alicorn at one point and lost that power. If you're interested, check those videos out. They're great to watch and I definitely recommend them. Anyway, now that we have the conflict, it's time to move on to the aftermath. This is definitely going to get emotional, so if you don't like that, I'd advise you don't read the next chapter. If you're okay, you might want to bring out your tissue box because it might bring you to tears. I am not responsible for that if that happens. I only write, not create emotions. Next Chapter: The aftermath of Nightmare King's destruction! When Zachary flees to the Everfree Forest because of what he had done, it leaves Twilight in absolute heartbreak. It leaves her so heartbroken that she is not the same pony as she once was. Her friends try to comfort her, but it's no use. After a bit, she ventures off to the Everfree Forest with her friends to find Zachary so she can tell him how much she loves him. But with her emotional mood, it makes her more vulnerable to the dangers of the Everfree Forest. Will they be able to find him, or will the Everfree Forest keep them from ever reaching him?
