Chapter 46 - Forever, I Do
Lizette got up and staggered into the kitchen the next morning to find Susan drinking a bottle of water and making breakfast, wearing the Beethoven Rocks! tank top she wore the night before with a pair of cut-off denim shorts.
"You're awfully chipper this morning, Pood. Oh yeah, that's right, you didn't drink any alcohol last night. How's it going?"
"I called Spencer a few minutes ago, told him how much I love him and miss him. He said he loves me and misses me too." She sighed and smiled. "Want some breakfast? It's ready."
Lizette sat on the bar stool by the counter, propping her chin in her hand. "S'wonderful. Yes, food, but I need coffee… a cupula aspirins..." She got up, poured a cup, took two aspirins out of the container on the counter, and sat back down. "S'what's the plan for today? Besides the wedding… naturally."
Susan handed her a plate and fork with scrambled eggs and toast and a protein shake. "I'm hungry, but my stomach is… kinda flip-floppy. Ugh. Okay. While we eat, how about a movie? For me later, a nap, and a bath. The house is all ready for the Florist and Caterers to come in at 2 to set up. Mom will close up early and be here by 2:30. Hair and makeup ladies will arrive around 3, for me, you, Mom, and whoever else might need it. Andre, Etienne, and the DJ will be here about 4 as I'm getting ready. Jinny and Darby will be here about 4:10. She's closing the center early. Phil will be here about 4-ish also, with the boys. Spencer, his folks, and the BAU crew will be here around 4:30 with the rest of the guests. I invited Ellen and Roger but haven't heard back from them, so... I don't know. Dave is walking me down the aisle at 5. Whew. Oh, and somewhere in all that, I've got to go pick up a pregnancy test. No pressure, right?"
"You've got it all planned; just remember to breathe." They ate breakfast, sitting cross-legged on the sofa while watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding. After the movie ended, Lizette suggested they watch Sense and Sensibility.
"Spencer and I watched that one already, and The Wedding Planner." Finally, after discussing several movies, they settled on The Proposal. When that ended, Susan went to take a nap, and Lizette left to run a quick errand; and after she came back, put on The Princess and The Frog. During the credits, a few minutes before 2, she heard a honk outside and turned the tv off, asking Betty to open the driveway gate for the florist's staff and the van from Vincent's pulling in behind them.
Lizette checked the backyard as the crews were setting up, then plopped down on the bed in the guest suite near the kitchen. She chuckled as Susan awoke, handing her a bag with a bottle of water. "Wakey, wakey, Poodle-doo. I went to the pharmacy for you. Drink up; you got some peeing to do."
Susan drank it down, then pulled the box out of the bag and took a deep breath. "I'll be right back, gotta pee anyway," heading to the bathroom. She came out and set the plastic wand on a couple of tissues on top of the bedspread. She and Lizette stared at it, letting her breath out slowly. "… A plus sign, so... that's… yes?" It was a bizarre, surreal feeling, but a good one.
"So, Tiana's gonna have her BFF. How do you feel?"
"I need to tell Spencer before the wedding. Maybe that's why I've been so tired, and my stomach's been wonky the last few days." She hugged Lizette, barely holding back happy tears. "How's everything going outside?"
"The caterers and florist crew are getting set up. Everything is under control. Go. Bath. Now." She gave Susan a kiss on her forehead. "If you have Ginger oil, put a drop or two in… warm water, not hot. After Mom gets here, I'm gonna go downstairs and take a shower."
"Okey-dokey." Susan put the test back in the box and the box in the bag and hung it on the doorknob in the bathroom. After setting an alarm on her phone and pulled up a playlist of Ed Sheeran songs, she hit Play, set it on the counter, pulled off her clothes while the tub filled, poured in a little bath gel, and a drop each of Lilac and Ginger essential oils, and sat down in the warm water.
Fifteen minutes later, the bubbles had all disappeared. She was about to get out when her cellphone played the Doctor Who theme song. It was Spencer calling on the video chat app. She picked it up off the counter and answered cheerily. "H'lo Love."
He was sitting on the sofa in his apartment. Seeing her in the tub made him grin. "Well, hello Beautiful. How did you sleep last night?"
"It was strange. I've gotten so used to feeling you snuggled against my back, but I was able to sleep. How about you?"
"I slept pretty well last night, most likely from the scent of your hair on my pillows. I think that kept me from tossing and turning, so thank you for that. My parents will be here soon and I'm taking them out for a late lunch. I'll see you at 5. I love you."
"Love you." Susan closed her eyes for a long moment and shuddered. She heard him chuckle and opened her eyes. He was still smiling.
"Do you think Lizette would chase me out if I came over, whipped off my clothes, and jumped into the tub with you?"
"Oh, for sure. I'd be okay with it, but she's a stickler for traditions, especially wedding traditions. But she likes you, so she might even let you have your clothes back." Susan grew serious. "Sweetheart, there's something I need to talk to you about."
He turned his head, briefly, at the sound of knocking, then looked back at her. "I have to go, Love, they're here. Wait, it isn't bad, is it?" His eyebrows knit together.
Susan sat up quickly. "No, but it is important."
He was grinning again. "Mmm. And now you're teasing me. It's a good thing I didn't have the door open. I want my parents to get to know you better, but not that much."
She laughed softly and slid back into the water. "I wasn't trying to tease you, Love."
"Well, thank you, for reminding me of two more reasons for me to be there later. I love you… gotta go." He puckered his lips as if giving her a kiss and the video feed clicked off.
Susan sighed, thinking, I'll tell him later. If I had blurted it out, he would have come right over and missed out on spending time with his folks. She checked the time on her cellphone. 2:32 pm.
I've got time. Smiling, she thought of Spencer and trembled. She figured she had enough time to wash her hair before K.C. and Jackie showed up. As the tub drained, Susan stepped out onto the mat, careful not to slip and fall as she got into the shower. Cair não seria bom.
She wrapped a towel around her and another towel around her hair. Her phone alarm chirped. She turned it and Ed off, and opened the bathroom window to let some fresh air in, asking Betty to put on her playlist of violin concertos throughout the house and yard.
After sliding her robe on over her towel, Susan went out to the kitchen to find some of the catering people from Vincent's, and Lizette answering their questions. Knowing everything was being taken care of inside, and Marsha outside handling the rest; Susan was able to relax and concentrate on getting ready.
She carried the bar stools to the bathroom, one at a time, setting them up in front of the mirror, then took the towel off her head, hung it up, and combed through her hair.
In the walk-in closet, Susan checked to make sure she had her dress, underclothes she would wear with it, and the new pair of pink pointe shoes. Both she and Spencer had written that on their individual lists while planning the wedding. Her sandals were also in the closet, to change into later, during the reception.
She picked up the small, dark-blue velvet box from the shelf next to her dress and opened it. Spencer's platinum ring was nestled inside; infinity symbols etched around the band. Engraved inside, Ever Thine, Ever Mine, Ever Ours, a line from one of her favorite movies. Originally it was in a letter written by Ludwig van Beethoven to his beloved, the Countess Josephine Brunsvik.
A knock on the bedroom door made her jump. Marsha had hired K.C. Dunlop, from the salon near the community center, to do Susan and Lizette's hair for the wedding. She also hired Jackie, a friend, and makeup artist, for the bridal party.
Susan had a picture on her cellphone and showed it to KC how she wanted her hair—half up, half down. She would have done it herself, but Marsha insisted.
As KC finished Susan's hair, she fastened an antique diamond and gold hair comb, with two connected hearts and tiny seed pearls that once belonged to her great-grandmother—Philomina—who had worn it for her wedding. A veil extending to the middle of her back hung on the mirror to be fastened under the clip after Susan put her dress on.
Jackie was working on Lizette's makeup while KC was finishing up with Susan. Then they traded places. Lizette asked for her hair to be done in a simple French twist. Afterward, she went out wearing a button-down shirt and shorts to see if anything needed her attention. She came back minutes later with an extremely anxious Penelope.
"Susan, have you talked to Spencer yet? He was asking me about last night and I told him we had a good time but left it at that. He's my friend; I can't lie to him."
"But you aren't lying, Penelope. We did have a good time, right? Could you bring him into the walk-in closet? I'll meet you in there. In… a minute?"
Moving her dress into the bathroom, Susan slipped her towel off from under the robe, hung it up, and picked up the bag with the test kit, taking it back into the closet. She pulled on a pair of off-white panties and strapless bra and re-tied her robe. The closet, smaller than either of the walk-in closets in the master suite upstairs, was where Susan stored some clothes and things that belonged to her parents and grandparents. Even with the closet rods and shelves full, it was still roomy enough to accommodate at least four adults.
Spencer walked in, followed by Penelope. "Is everything okay?" He looked worried until Susan smiled and held his hands.
"I asked her not to say anything until I talked to you." She handed him the bag. "I have a gift for you… this isn't it, Love, but think of it as… a placeholder. It's going to take about another 35 weeks for your gift to be delivered." She beamed happily, and it only took him half a second for it to register what she meant. His eyebrows snapped up, and his mouth opened, but no words came out.
Penelope grinned, patting Spencer's arm. "I don't believe it. You've rendered the good doctor speechless. I'm gonna take that as my cue…" she pointed behind her, "… and head back out there," walking out as she dabbed her eyes with a handkerchief she pulled from her purse.
His eyes widened. "Honey, are you sure?" And he kissed her gently as his arms closed around her.
"Well… by the end of the year, if a baby's born, we'll be absolutely sure. Lizette picked up a home pregnancy test for me earlier… and it was positive." She watched as he sat straight down, landing on a padded bench behind him.
Spencer had tears in his eyes and a smile that seemed to take over his entire face. "Are you okay? How do you feel?" Suddenly, his eyebrows furrowed. "What about all the partying you ladies did last night? How much alcohol did you drink? The statistics on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome are staggeri—"
Susan cut him off by kissing him, holding his face in her hands, meeting his eyes. "It's okay, Love. I drank only water and mocktails… no alcohol. Better to be safe than sorry, right?"
"Is this what you wanted to tell me earlier?" His hands shook as he untied her robe and sank to the floor, holding her hips, kissing her lower abdomen, and whispering against her skin.
He stood and sank back down on the bench. "I got up too fast," he chuckled, slowly tying the inside tie of her robe, then the outer tie. Looking up at her, he took a couple of breaths and held her hands. Slowly, he stood up again and framed her face in his hands and kissed her again as he slid one arm around her back. His other hand spread out on her abdomen. "Let's keep this under wraps for now? We don't need to hear the jokes about a shotgun wedding, especially since Dave has two shotguns… that I know of. For now, let's get married. I'm sure everyone will find out… now that Penelope knows." She smiled up at him, and he kissed her, holding her close. "I'll see you out there in…" He checked his watch. "… eight minutes. I love you." Spencer kissed her again and started stepping back, his hand trailing down her arm to her hand, reluctant to let go until he was nearly out of the closet.
Susan went back into the bathroom, asking Betty to turn off the violin music. It was time for the DJ to start his set.
Lizette now wore a knee-length, sleeveless, light pink chiffon dress with a V-neck. She grinned. "So? How did it go?"
"I knew he would be happy, but I had to tell him before the wedding. Right now, I'd say he's over the moon. I know I am."
"Well, good. Andre and Etienne are taking pictures outside. In a minute, they'll be in to take pictures of the wedding party before we start down the aisle."
Jackie had to leave, and K.C. went out to use the other bathroom while Susan put on her dress. Lizette laced up the back and hooked the loop at the neck. She saw her reflection in the mirror.
Lizette was looking over Susan's shoulder. "Oh, Poodle, you look gorgeous. Phil asked me earlier to wait for him before putting on your pointe shoes."
The A-line dress Susan wore had a tea-length skirt and one pink layer among several layers of white, rendering it a very delicate, pale pink. The white bodice had a sweetheart neckline, with illusion lace netting across the top and shoulders. There was a knock on the door, and Phil came in with Marsha.
He smiled and picked up her hand. "Sooz, my beautiful little sister. This is for you," and laid a coin on her open palm. "Gramps gave this sixpence to Mom when she and Dad got married and she gave it to Katie when we got married. You know the rhyme, right? I'll see you in a bit. Love you." He hugged her and kissed the side of her head.
Susan nodded. "Thanks, Phil. Love you, too." After he went out, she put the coin into her left shoe and put them on, crisscrossing the ribbons around her ankles. "I sewed longer ribbons into these, so I could tie a pretty bow on each side."
Lizette chuckled, taking the ribbons from her. "Here, let me do the bows. Yours suck. You do realize these shoes haven't been broken in properly, right?"
"I wanted them to look nice, and I'm only wearing them for the ceremony. Later, I'll break them in… and yes, your bows look better than mine."
Marsha sniffled and engulfed Susan in a hug. "I'm so happy for you, Sweetheart. You've always been like a second daughter to me." She handed her a small velvet jewelry box.
Susan opened it and gasped. Inside, a delicate gold chain with an inch-long infinity symbol. Marsha fastened it around Susan's neck as tears filled her eyes.
"For your something new."
"Oh, Mama, thank you! It's beautiful." She was trying hard not to cry. "And I was fortunate to have you two in my life." She hugged Marsha and Lizette together.
"Gator, did you tell her yet?" Susan whispered.
Lizette shook her head, pressing her lips together.
"Tell me what?" Marsha looked at Susan, then Lizette. "What are the two of you up to?"
Susan said quietly, "What's better than one grandchild… Gramma?"
"Two? Oh, Honey, that's wonderful," she said, hugging her again. "It's almost time. I'm going out there before all this makeup runs off my face." She pulled tissues out of the box on the vanity, dabbing her eyes as she went out the bedroom door.
Pulling a pale blue garter up onto her thigh, Susan smoothed her dress down and took Spencer's ring out of the box. She put it on her index finger. Lizette handed her a pretty lace handkerchief as something borrowed to hold with her bouquet.
Touching each of the items, Susan recited quietly, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a silver sixpence in my shoe… and Spencer's ring. Got it all covered."
Andre came in to take pictures while KC clipped the veil in Susan's hair, then he took pictures of Susan and Lizette together.
After that, Lizette walked out to the kitchen, checking out the window to see if the guests were in their seats. Dave and Phil sat on the sofa in front of the fireplace, talking.
"Hey, guys, the bride's ready to come out. Are you two good to go?" She checked the clock. It was three minutes to 5.
They got up and walked over as Susan came out of the bedroom and into the kitchen with Marsha, Lizette, and Andre.
She peered through the herb plants in the kitchen window. Spencer was talking with Morgan and the FBI Chaplain, Dr. Gorman, in front of the flower and ivy-covered arch. The florist staff set it up in the space near the back end of the entertainment pod, in between it and the pergola-covered tables, with the chairs arranged on the dance floor. And a white lace backdrop behind the arch to block out the pool.
Dave hugged her, kissing her cheeks. "Buona Fortuna, Suzie."
Phil smiled proudly and hugged her again.
As they stood around Susan, her eyes welled up. "Thank you. You all mean so much to me and I'm so happy you're all here."
Andre took pictures of Susan with Marsha and Lizette; of her with Phil and Dave; of her and Phil; and her with Marsha and Dave since they were standing in for Susan's parents. Then he took a group photo burst of the five of them.
Marsha's eyes welled up again, threatening to spill over. "It's time, Honey. Are you ready? Spencer's waiting out there for you."
Susan nodded, smiling. "Mm-hmm, I'm ready, Mama."
With a grin, Dave announced, "Time to get this show on the road."
KC handed Susan and Lizette their bouquets and opened the sliding door for Phil and Marsha. As they stepped onto the deck, Joel the DJ started playing the mashup of Pachelbel's Canon and Ed Sheeran's Perfect that Susan had pre-recorded on a CD.
They strolled up the aisle and sat down in the front row next to Krystall, with the empty chair beside her on the end, for Dave.
"Don't trip, chocolate chip." Lizette smiled, gave Susan a hug, and went out. KC closed the slider until Lizette was standing at the end of the aisle, then opened it for Dave and Susan. After they stepped off the deck, KC closed it and sat on a chair by the bar.
Susan looked down briefly, holding Dave's arm, to make sure she didn't trip as she stepped down onto the gravel. She looked up to see Spencer across the yard, standing in front of the arch, with a big smile on his face.
The DJ faded the song out as she and Dave stepped up in front of Spencer. He took Susan's right hand and Spencer's left, holding them together, and said solemnly, "Che vi amiate sempre," which translated from Italian meant May you always love each other. He gave Susan another kiss on her cheek and stepped back, then sat down next to Krystall, who held his hand.
Dr. Gorman thanked everyone, "For attending this joyous occasion, uniting Spencer and Susan." He talked of love, loyalty, communication, and understanding as being important in an enduring relationship. The pair held hands, and he asked, "Do you, Spencer Reid, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself only unto her, for as long as you both shall live?"
Spencer locked eyes with her as he smiled, holding her hands. "I do."
The Chaplain asked the same of Susan, and as she and Spencer continued to hold each other's gaze. She replied, "I do."
He continued. "Spencer and Susan have chosen rings to exchange with each other as a symbol of their unending love. Spencer, as you place this ring on Susan's finger, please repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed, and pledge you my love, now and forever."
Spencer repeated it, focused on her eyes, only looking down long enough to slip the ring on her finger.
Dr. Gorman asked Susan the same, and she repeated it, smiling, looking into Spencer's eyes, glancing down to slip it on his ring finger. She looked back up. Tears were welling up in his eyes. Happy tears, judging from his smile.
Dr. Gorman finished the ceremony. "By the authority vested in me by the District of Columbia, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss, to seal your vows."
He had barely finished saying it, and they were kissing, with their arms were around each other as Andre took more pictures, with Etienne nearby, recording the video.
Chaplain Gorman announced them as Mr. and Mrs. Reid. He felt it was easier than trying to fit Doctor in for both of them, and they agreed to keep it simple.
The DJ played Mozart's A Little Night Music, and they ambled back to the deck, where they stood to greet their guests while the caterers moved the chairs to the tables.
Andre took even more pictures. He had the two of them go back to the arch, snapping shots of Susan up on her toes, with Spencer holding her, dipping her back, and kissing her.
There were pictures taken inside of the wedding party signing the marriage certificate on the dining room table, and then of guests mingling outside while Susan and Lizette went back to the closet to take off Susan's ballet shoes and put on her sandals.
As Andre captured images of the bride and groom making their grand entrance onto the deck with their wedding party behind them, the DJ began playing the song Perfect. Spencer held his wife's hand and led her to the dance floor, now cleared of chairs by the catering crew for the couple's first dance. Andre stood nearby with his camera, snapping even more pictures. And more when the next song played of the guests dancing, surrounding the happy couple. He stood on an extra chair to get a better view of the newlyweds dancing.
For Spencer's dance with his mother, he chose Forever Young, by Bob Dylan. And for Susan's dance with her brother Phil—since Dave walked her down the aisle—she chose Bridge Over Troubled Water, their father's favorite song, which made both of them tear up. Then Susan went up on the stage. Playing the keyboard, she sang Fleetwood Mac's Songbird, dedicating it to her husband as he stood alone on the dance floor, watching her.
Before dinner, the newlyweds went back to talking with their guests, holding hands. Susan noticed Etienne on the deck, with Trey and Eddie, one holding a drone, the other a remote. She leaned in, whispering to Spencer. "What are they up to?"
He smiled and winked. "I'm not supposed to tell you—I've been sworn to secrecy." He kissed her, holding her close.
Andre took pictures of Bill and Diana with Spencer and Susan hugging them both, wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. Spencer was glad his mother was having a good day. She was calm and smiling, holding Susan's hands, thanking her for making her son happy.
Toasts were made while guests ate dinner, first by Morgan and Lizette, and then Phil and several others. At least a dozen bottles of champagne were consumed throughout the evening, in addition to the open bar. Susan drank ginger ale and only their server, Spencer, Penelope, and Lizette, knew.
Later, after dinner, there was more dancing before the cake was cut. Both the bride and groom went with dignity and loving respect, gently feeding the piece of cake to their spouse.
Emily caught the bouquet. Having sworn off marriage years ago, she stood at the far edge of the small group of single women. For a second, she thought about how her relationship with Aaron felt as if it were heading in that direction. At that moment, she looked up to see the bunched flowers heading in her direction, like a guided missile.
Susan sat down on a chair in the middle of the dance floor while Spencer reached under her dress, his fingers slithering slowly up her leg to reach the garter. She blushed and shook so hard she had to grip the chair to keep from falling off. The grin on his face told her he was enjoying it, too. He slid it off just as slowly, then kissed her as he stood, glanced behind him, and launched it like a sling-shot over his shoulders. Luke caught it, wearing it proudly on his jacket sleeve for the rest of the evening.
As the reception wound down, Andy came out back with Tiana. He and Lizette hugged the newlyweds before they left. Darby, Jinny, and the Simmons family left. There was another dance and more pictures being taken while the caterers cleared the tables. For fun, in one picture, Susan wore Spencer's jacket over her dress and he had her veil draped over his head, with a loopy grin on his face.
Phil left with his sons, going back to the hotel, promising they'd be back the next morning, for the brunch and barbeque. Bill drove Diana back out to Brookdale and then went to his hotel.
Andre took a few more pictures while Etienne started packing up the photography equipment. One picture he took of the bride and groom sitting side by side with their feet up on the table, leaning against each other. Spencer was holding Susan's hand, kissing her wrist. They looked tired, but their eyes brimmed with happiness.
The catering crew left, and as the last of the guests were leaving, Spencer picked Susan up and carried her into the house. That was the last picture taken by Andre before he and Etienne left. It was nearly midnight by the time everyone else had gone.
A stack of cards lay on the dining room table. When Susan and Spencer had called to invite their friends and relatives, they requested no gifts. There was nothing they needed except for the company of their guests. They told everyone if anyone felt the need to give something, a greeting card would be most welcome.
Talking quietly, Spencer hung his jacket on a dining room chair, took off the bow tie, and set it on the table. He asked Betty to engage the locks and set the alarm while Susan slipped her arms around his shoulders. He held her snugly, kissing her as Susan stretched and shuddered.
"Shall we go upstairs, Mrs. Reid?"
/
Walking into the sitting area of the bedroom, Spencer went over to the fireplace. "Is it too warm for a fire?"
"Not at all. A fire sounds wonderful, thank you. Can you undo me, Love? I'm tied into this get-up."
After turning the fireplace on low, he turned, standing behind her. He swept her hair over one shoulder while kissing her neck, undoing the bow, and slowly pulling the ribbons out. It took a few seconds for him to unhook the netting in the soft light.
He chuckled. "I was ready to rip it off you, but I worked it out." Taking her by the hand, he sat on the sofa and moved his knees apart as she sat across his lap.
Holding her with one arm, Spencer spread his other hand over her abdomen. "Every happy moment in my life, combined... has been dwarfed by today." Kissing her tenderly, he felt her hand cover his.
"You're going to make me cry, Love. I feel the same way."
He held her, tracing his fingers along her ear, down her neck, and slid the delicate netting down, gently kissing her ear, down to her shoulder, and across her collarbone. Susan trembled and turned onto her knees, straddling Spencer's lap.
"Hmm. Now I'm warm, Love. Would you help me out of this?" She unfastened the hair clip and the necklace, setting them on the side table, then raised her arms, and Spencer carefully eased the dress up and over her head, laying it across the back of the sofa. He turned his attention back to her, kissing her as he slid his hands slowly down her back, holding her. To stay in that moment for a while longer. He pulled her closer and heard her moan softly against his neck. Slowly, he slid his hands up her sides, moving his fingers between them, undoing her strapless bra, and slipped it off, dropping it on the sofa.
She trembled against him. "I love being married to you."
"And I love being married to you. You were right about saving something special for tonight. You're not too tired?"
"Maybe a little. A teeny, tiny bit, certainly not enough to stop me from lovin' you as your wife. We'll only have one wedding night."
"I want to make sure you get some rest. You didn't eat much earlier." He closed his eyes and laid his head back. Susan was softly kissing under his chin and down his throat, unbuttoning his shirt. It felt so good, his hands stopped on the back of her thighs, and he groaned, lingering there for a long moment.
"Wasn't very hungry, and I'll get plenty of rest... I promise." Susan kissed him and got up slowly, holding her hand out. "What do you think… time for bed?"
As Spencer stood, he picked her up, and she wrapped her arms and legs around him. Still kissing her, he set her down gently on the bed. He undressed, laying his clothes over the bench at the foot of the bed. By the soft glow of the fireplace, he watched Susan move over near the center, laying back against the pillows, watching him. Holding the bedpost, he pulled off one sock, and as he pulled off the other, something flew at him, landing on the end of the bed. She laughed—it was her panties. He smiled and dropped his other sock on the bench.
Tapping the light off, he pushed the blanket and sheet out of his way as he got up on the bed and moved over to his bride. Spencer felt her shudder as they slid their arms around each other…
