Tony's house appears. 'Malibu, California' appears on the screen. Tony appears in his lab. He claps his hands twice, music starts playing and all of his screens turn on as well as the lights. He says to wake up because he's home and calls himself 'daddy.'
"Daddy?" Clint laughs.
JARVIS welcomes him back and congratulates him on the opening ceremonies. He says that they were a success and so was his senate hearing.
"Success isn't the word I would use." Pepper said.
JARVIS says its refreshing to see Tony in a video with his clothes on.
"Wow."
The video from the senate hearing appears on one of the screens. YOU is making a smoothie, but he just makes a mess. Tony scolds him and says that he'll dismantle him, soak his motherboard and turn him into a wine rack.
"You should be more nice to your offspring." Shuri said.
"My offspring?" Tony questions.
"Well, you created it. Therefore it is your offspring." Shuri said.
"Can't argue with that logic." Tony agreed.
YOU looks down. Tony pours a glass of green liquid and calls it gobbledygook, and asks how much of it he's supposed to drink.
"What is, and I quote here, 'gobbledygook.'" Strange asked.
"Liquid chlorophyll. Would anyone like to try some?" Tony asked.
The room went silent. "Screw it, I'm curious. I actually want to drink it now." Scott said, a glass appeared in front of him. "Uh thank you?" He says and picked up the glass and drank some. "Hmm. Its not as bad as I thought, its not particularly good either, but not bad." He said. Everyone looked at him like he was crazy.
JARVIS says he has to drink 80 ounces a day to counteract the symptoms.
Tony says to check his palladium levels.
"Palladium? That's what's poisoning you?" Bruce asked. "It's because of the arc reactor isn't it?"
Tony pricks his finger on the device from earlier. 'Blood toxicity: 24%' it reads. JARVIS reads off the data and says that the continuous use of the suit is accelerating the condition. Tony looks at screens that show the condition of his body. JARVIS says that another reactor core is depleted. Tony lifts his shirt and takes the arc reactor out.
"Is that a-" Howard started.
"Yes." Tony answered, he already knew the end of that question.
"And it is inside your-" Howard started again.
"yes." Tony confirms.
"Why?" Howard asked.
"I'm sure it'll get mentioned." Tony said.
The palladium core gets ejected. Tony takes it out, the core is rusted.
"That doesn't look good." Sam said.
Tony says that the cores are running out fast.
JARVIS says that he's run simulations on every known element and that none of them are viable replacements for palladium.
Okoye, Shuri and T'Challa frowned. Vibranium would work but Tony didn't have access to it, but judging by the fact that he was sitting in the same room as them, decidedly not dead, maybe he did.
Tony opens a box and takes out a new core, he puts it in the arc reactor and puts the arc reactor back in his chest. JARVIS says that he's running out of time and options and says that the device that's supposed to keep Tony alive is killing him. Tony looks into a mirror, dark lines cover his chest.
"Its keeping you alive!?" The people who weren't there for the first film shouted. Tony nodded.
Howard was confused. What had happened to his son that he needed to rely on that to keep him alive?
JARVIS tells Tony that Pepper is approaching and tells Tony that he should tell Pepper about his condition. Tony drops his shirt from his mouth and mutes JARVIS.
"You haven't told her!?" Almost everyone shouted. Pepper just glared at him.
"I wish you would have told her." Vision said.
Tony closes the box and all the screens switch to screen saver. Pepper puts in a code and enters the lab. Tony continues drinking his chlorophyll. He shakes his head and points at the door.
Pepper asks if its a joke. Tony finishes his drink as Pepper walks toward him and asks what he was thinking.
"What did you do?" Wanda asked.
Tony stands up and starts walking away and says that he's thinking that he's busy and that Pepper is angry. He asks her if she has the sniffles and says he doesn't want to get sick.
"Cause you're dying." pepper said angrily.
Pepper asks if he donated their modern art collection to the Boy scouts of America.
Tony's holograms pop up as she says this. Tony grabs a hologram and rolls it into a ball and tosses it into a hologram basket and says that he did because it is a worthwhile organization and says that it isn't their collection its his collection then swipes some holograms away.
"You could've at least donated it to an organization that would have some use for it." Natasha said.
Pepper says she's entitled to say that its their collection because she spent more than 10 years curating it.
Tony says that it was a tax write off and that he needed it.
Pepper says that there are 8,011 things she needs to speak with him about.
"That's a lot."
Tony looks at Dummy and tells him to stop spacing out.
"How can a robot space out?" Scott asked.
Pepper says that the Expo is a waste of time.
Tony tells her that she should wear a mask until she's feeling better.
"That's a bit rude, don't you think?" MJ said.
Pepper says that that was rude.
Tony says that there isn't anything more important than the Expo and that its his main point of concern.
Pepper says that the Expo is his ego gone crazy.
"Yeah."
Tony sees an Iron Man painting sitting on the floor and says its modern art and he's going to hang it up.
Pepper says that Stark is in disarray and asks if he understands.
Tony says that their stocks have never been higher.
Pepper says that that's from a managerial standpoint.
"Geez you two argue like an old married couple." Natasha joked.
Tony says they can double back.
Pepper asks to let her give an example.
Tony asks to change subjects.
"Its like watching a really fast tennis match." Clint said.
Tony speed walks over to the counter in the corner of the lab. Pepper tells him not to take down the Barnett Newman painting and hang up his Iron Man one.
Tony says he isn't and that he's just replacing it.
"You are taking it down though." Ned said.
Tony gets up on the counter and takes down a picture and puts the Iron Man paining in its place. Pepper says that her point is that they awarded contracts to the wind farm people.
Tony says not to say wind farm because he's feeling gassy.
"Dude." Scott said.
Pepper adds another to the list and says that the workers are on payroll and that it was his idea.
Tony agrees.
Pepper says that he wont make a decision.
"He probably never will." Maria said.
Tony says he doesn't care about the liberal agenda because its boring and tells Pepper to do it.
Pepper asks what he wants her to do.
Tony says that she should run the company.
"So this is how you became CEO." Natasha said.
Pepper says that that's what she's trying to do.
Tony says he needs her to run the company.
Pepper says he's not giving her the information she needs.
Tony says he needs her to stop trying and actually do it.
"You two are having two completely different conversations." Rhodey said.
Tony says Pepper isn't listening to him.
Pepper says Tony isn't listening to her.
"You're not listening to each other!" Everyone shouted.
Tony says he's trying to make her CEO and asks why she wont let him.
"Because I didn't know that that's what you were trying to do." Pepper said.
Pepper asks if he's been drinking.
Tony says he's been drinking chlorophyll.
"Gross."
Tony appoints her chairman and CEO of Stark Industries and that its effective immediately. He walks away to where YOU is holding champagne and says he's actually given it some thought whether or not she believes it.
"Really?" Natasha asked.
He says that he was trying to figure out who a worthy successor would be and then he says he realized that it was always Pepper. He pours 2 glasses or champagne and says he thought that there might be a legal issue but he is capable of appointing his successor. He hands her a glass and congratulates her.
Pepper says she doesn't know what to think.
Tony tells her not to think and tells her to drink.
"Must be your life motto." Rhodey jokes.
Back in Russia a man hands Ivan something. Ivan opens it and its a fake ID, Passport and train ticket.
Some people looked worried.
Pepper walks into a room, Happy and Tony are Boxing. Pepper says that the notary's there and asks Tony to sign the transfer papers.
Tony says he's on Happy time and punches Happy a few times.
Pepper rolled her eyes.
Happy goes to punch him back, tony swipes his hand down and punches him in the face and apologizes.
Happy asks what that was.
Tony says that it was mixed martial arts and it's been around for 3 weeks.
Happy says it was dirty boxing and that there wasn't anything new about it.
"Well, most fighting isn't ever clean." Natasha said.
Natasha walks into the room, happy and Tony turn to look at her. Pepper says she promises that this is the only time she'll ask him to sign over the company.
Natasha walks over to her and tells her to initial the boxes.
Happy hits Tony on the head and tells him not to take his eyes off the opponent. Tony kicks him across the ring.
Everyone laughed.
Happy say's he's done and takes off his equipment.
"Poor Happy." Pepper said.
Tony picks up his water bottle and asks Natasha for her name. Natasha says her name is Natalie Rushman.
"Hello Natalie." All of the avengers Greeted.
"Hello." Natasha responded.
Tony invites her into the ring.
Pepper tells him not to.
Natasha says it isn't a problem and and starts walking to the ring. Tony lifts the rope so she can get in, she enters.
Tony takes a drink from his water bottle and asks Happy to giver Natasha a lesson.
"I think it's gonna end up being the other way around." Clint said.
sits down next to Pepper and asks about Natasha. Pepper says that she is from legal and she's a potentially expensive sexual harassment lawsuit if he keeps ogling her. Tony says he needs a new assistant. Pepper says she has 3 candidates lined up. Tony says he doesn't have time and ne needs a new assistant and he thinks it should be Natasha.
"Hire me." Natasha whispered.
Pepper denies the request.
Happy asks Natasha if she's ever boxed.
Natasha says she has.
"An understatement." Clint said.
Happy starts mocking her.
"Happy don't taunt the woman." Tony scolded.
Tony asks Natasha how to spell her name.
Natasha spells it out for him. Tony claps his, still gloved hands and a keyboard appears on the table.
Pepper asks if he's googling her.
"Yep."
Tony says Natasha is and impressive woman and notices that she's fluent in French, Italian, Russian and Latin, he then asks Pepper who speaks Latin.
Pepper says that no one does and calls it a dead language before saying that you can read and write in Latin but you can't speak it.
"It's useful for prefixes and things of that nature." Natasha says.
He asks Pepper if she modeled in Tokyo because Natasha did.
"Oh I remember that, that was fun." Natasha said with a smile.
Tony says that Natasha is everything he needs. Natasha is looking at them, listening in on their conversation.
"Hire me." Natasha whispers again.
Happy tells her not to take her eyes of the opponent and goes to punch her. Natasha takes his fist, twists it and flips over his head, knocking him down.
"Damn, you have got to teach me how to do that." MJ said. Natasha smirked.
Tony is impressed, Pepper is worried. Happy says that he just slipped.
"Sure." Natasha said.
Tony hits a bell and says that it looked like a TKO.
Natasha gets out of the ring and says she needs Tony's impression.
Tony says that she has a quiet reserve and that she has an old soul.
"I- I don't think that's what she meant." May said.
Natasha says she meant she needed his fingerprint.
Tony puts his fingerprint on the paper. Pepper asks how they're doing.
Tony says that they're finishing up.
Natasha asks Tony if that will be all.
Tony says it wont.
Pepper says it will and thanks Natasha.
Natasha leaves and Tony says he wants her.
Pepper tells him no.
"Don't we all, though." Clint joked.
'Monaco' appears on the screen.
"Oh my God." Pepper and Natasha groaned.
Tony, Pepper and Happy all get out of a car and starts walking into a building. Tony says that whatever happens in the next 20 minutes to go with it because its Europe.
Pepper asks what she's going with.
"So naïve."
Natasha walks up to them and asks how their flight was.
Tony says it was excellent and that its good to see Natasha.
A waiter walks up to them, Tony takes two drinks from him.
Natasha says that they have a photographer from ACM if they don't mind and she takes the drinks back.
Pepper asks when that happened.
Tony says she made him do it.
"But did she?" MJ asked.
Pepper asks what she made him do.
A photographer starts taking pictures, Tony tells her to smile, to stop acting constipated and not to flare her nostrils.
"Wow, camera advice from Tony Stark, I should be so honored." Pepper said, sarcastically.
Pepper says that Tony is predictable.
Tony says its an amazing thing.
The photographer walks away, Tony walks over to Natasha who tells them to follow her.
Tony says she looks fantastic.
"You really do." Peggy commented.
Natasha thanks him.
Tony says its unprofessional and asks about his schedule.
Natasha says he has a dinner at 9:30.
Tony says he'll be there at 11.
"You plan to be late?" T'Challa asked.
They walk over to a table, Tony asks if its theirs.
Natasha says that it can be.
Tony tells her to make it theirs.
Everyone rolled their eyes. Tony was so picky sometimes.
Pepper walks up to Elon Musk and asks how he is.
Elon congratulates her on her promotion.
Pepper thanks him.
Tony walks over and asks how Elon is doing and tells him that the merlin engines are fantastic.
Elon thanks him and says he has an idea for an electric jet.
Tony says they'll make it work and then asks Pepper if she wants a massage. They leave Elon alone.
"That was random." Ned said.
Pepper says she doesn't.
Tony says he can have Natasha make an appointment.
Pepper says she doesn't want her to.
Tony says he doesn't want Pepper to be tense and says he didn't mean to spring all of this on her.
"Well..."
Pepper thanks him.
Tony tells her that green isn't her color.
Justin's head pops out from behind a row of people and he greets Tony.
"Oh, great this asshole."
Tony tells Pepper that hammer is his least favorite person on Earth.
Hammer walks over to them and asks Tony how he's doing before saying that he isn't the only rich guy there with a fancy car, he then introduces Christine and asks if they know each other. Christine comes into view.
"Oh! Its her again." Scott said.
Pepper, Tony and Christine all say that they know each other.
Hammer tells Christine that Pepper is the new CEO if Stark industries.
Christine says she knows and that her editor would kill her if she didn't get a quote for their powerful women issue, then asks if she can.
Pepper agrees.
Hammer says that Christine is doing a spread on him for Vanity Fair and that he thought he should throw her a bone.
Pepper says that she did a spread on Tony last year.
"I hope you don't mean that in the way I think you did." May said.
Tony says that Christine also wrote a story.
May sighed, it was meant in the way she thought.
Tony and Pepper says that the story was impressive and well done.
Christine thanks them.
Pepper says that she's going to wash up, then she leaves.
Tony asks her not to leave him.
"Oh, poor Tony." Pepper mocked.
Hammer asks Tony how he's doing.
Tony says he's alright.
Another photographer comes into view. Christine tries to interview them, Hammer is talking to the photographer.
"This is just chaos at its finest." Scott said.
Christine asks if this is the first time that Hammer and Tony have seen each other since the Senate Hearing.
Tony comments about Hammer getting his contract revoked.
Hammer says its just on hold.
Tony asks for the difference between hold and canceled.
"Wow, you really don't like him." Clint observed.
Hammer asks her to put her device away and says that he's planning to present something at the Expo.
"Really wish he didn't do that." Rhodey mumbled.
Tony says he can get a slot once he invents something that works.
"Burn." Shuri said.
Natasha walks up to them and tells Tony that the table is ready. She and Tony start to leave.
Hammer says that he has a slot.
Tony tells Christine that Hammer needs a slot.
Hammer says that he and Tony joke.
"Seriously, what is up with this guy?" Quill asked.
Tony is in the bathroom, he does another blood test. 'Blood toxicity: 53%'.
"That's not good." Rocket said.
He looks in the mirror and asks himself if he has anymore bad ideas.
"What are you about to do?" Bruce asked.
"Something stupid." Tony said.
"No I gathered that, but what is the stupid thing?" Bruce asked.
