A red truck is driving through the desert. The camera pans to show a giant crater created by Thor's hammer. The truck pulls up outside of it and a man gets out, he walks toward the hammer and tries to lift it, he can't.
"How heavy is that thing?" Tony asked. "Its not a matter of weight but whether or not the hammer deems you worthy of lifting it." Thor answered.
A sign that reads 'Puente Antiguo city limit pop: 2,175 elev: 6,056' is shown.
"Jeez, that is one small town." Ned said.
"Every town is small to you, you live in one of the most populated cities in the country." Bruce said.
Erik asks if Jane thinks it was a magnetic storm.
Jane says that it had characteristics of an Einstein-Rosen bridge.
Darcy doesn't know what an Einstein-Rosen bridge is.
Erik says he thought she was a science major.
Darcy tells him she's majoring in political science.
"Than why is she interning for an Astrophysicist?" MJ asked.
Jane says Darcy was the only one who applied for the internship.
"Oh."
Erik says that an Einstein-Rosen bridge is a connection between two different points of time and space.
Jane says that its a wormhole. Then hands Erik a picture and asks what he sees.
Erik says he sees stars.
A few people laughed at that. He's not wrong.
Jane says that they're not their stars and that the alignment is wrong for the time of year it is. Then says that they're someone else's constellations.
Darcy says pointing to two pictures on a bulletin board and tells them to look at them.
Jane and Erik look shocked and Jane says that she left something at the hospital.
"Is that something a 6'3 man with blond hair who beat the shit out a bunch of nurses?" Tony asked, sarcastically.
"I am a person not a thing." Thor said.
Thor is lying, strapped down to a hospital bed. He starts pulling at the restraints then relaxes for a moment then wiggles his hand out of the restraint. A group of nurses and doctors are in the room Thor destroyed.
The nurse tells Jane, Erik and Darcy that Thor must have been on drugs because he went nuts. They walk past the room and into the room Thor was in previously, he's no longer in the bed.
"Where did you go?" Mantis asked.
They leave and get into their van and drive off.
Jane says that she lost her most important piece of evidence.
Darcy asks what they're going to do.
Jane says that they're going to find Thor.
"That wont be hard at all." Thor said.
"Why wont it be?" Peggy asked.
Erik tells her that its a bad idea and asks if she saw what Thor did to the hospital room.
Jane says that Thor can tell them what their data can't and that they need to find him.
Darcy agrees and pulls out her taser.
Erik asks if they're going to search all of New Mexico.
Jane goes to pull out her the parking spot and hits Thor with her car again.
"That's why it wont be hard." Thor said.
They all get out of the car. Jane apologizes and says that she promises she's not hitting him with her car purposefully.
"I'm just curious. How many times did she hit you with her car?" Tony asked with a laugh.
Outside of the crater, a bunch of people are line up to lift the hammer. Some are cooking and some are drinking. A truck backs up to the edge of the crater a chain is attached to the rear end, a man wraps the other end around the hammer.
"Oh this ain't gonna go well." Rocket said.
The man starts driving, the hammer doesn't move. He drives faster, the hammer still doesn't move and the bed of the truck gets torn off.
"Oh no."
The man(Stan Lee) asks if it worked. The others start laughing.
"No it didn't." Drax said.
A black car pulls up behind them, Agent Coulson gets out and says that they found it.
"Wait- wasn't that the one extra scene from the last one we watched?" Quill asked.
"It was." Coulson said.
Thor is standing shirtless adjusting a pair of jeans. Darcy says that Thor looks good for a homeless person.
"Does she just not have a filter?" May asked.
Thor grabs a shirt off of the sink and walks into the room. Darcy apologizes for tasing him.
"I really don't think she's sorry." Valkyrie said.
He picks something up from a table. Jane takes it from him and puts it down.
Thor holds out the shirt and asks what it is pointing to the name tag that says 'Donald Blake, MD'.
Jane says it was her Exe's and says that he was good with patients but not relationships. She says that they're the only clothes she has that will fit him.
Thor says that they'll suffice and says that his mortal form is weak and needs sustenance.
"Please tell me you eventually learn how to talk like a, as you so kindly put it, mortal." Scott said. "Because I don't know how much more of 'ye old English' I can take.
"Its not technically old English or even middle English." Bruce said. "It's just very formal."
Back on Asgard Sif, the warriors three and Loki are in a room. Volstagg says that they shouldn't have let Thor go to Jotunheim.
Sif says that they couldn't have stopped him.
Thor sighed, she was right.
Fandrall says that they're lucky Thor's banished and not dead. Then he says that they'd all be dead if the guard didn't tell Odin where they were.
Behind them Loki is staring at his hand. Volstagg asks how the guard knew.
Loki tells them that he told the guard to go to Odin after they'd left. He says that the guard should be flogged because he tool so long and that they weren't supposed to even reach Jotunheim.
"So your plan was to get Thor to try to go to Jotunheim, Odin would stop you and realize that Thor was reckless and maybe he should hold off on making him king?" Tony asked for clarification.
"In a perfect world yes that is exactly what I planned to happen." Loki answered.
Volstagg is upset with Loki because of this.
Loki defends his actions saying that he saved their lives.
"Not that anyone would ever give me credit for it." Loki said, a little bitter. Thor winced.
Loki then says that he didn't know Thor would be banished because of it.
Sif stands up and walks over to him and tells him he has to convince Odin to change his mind.
Loki asks what would happen if he does. He says that Thor is arrogant, reckless and dangerous. And asks if those are qualities Asgard needs in its king. He leaves.
"Why do you have to have such valid arguments?" Tony asked, a bit annoyed.
Sif says that Loki might speak for the good of Asgard but he's actually just jealous of Thor.
Loki rolled his eyes.
Volstagg says that they should be grateful that he saved their lives.
Hogun reminds them that Laufey says that there were traitors in the house of Odin. He says a master of magic could've let the frost giants in.
Fandrall says that Loki has always been mischievous but this was something completely different.
"Wait. I'm confused, do they think you did it? Or do they not think you did it?" Scott asked.
"They think I did it but they also believe that I wouldn't have done it." Loki answered.
The casket is resting on its pedestal. Loki walks up behind it and his hands hover over either side, he shakes his head and lifts it.
Loki sighed, he really did not want to see this.
Odin, standing on the stairs behind him, tells him to stop.
Loki asks if he's cursed.
Odin says he isn't.
Loki sets the casket down and asks what he is.
Odin says that Loki is his son.
Loki turns around, completely blue, eyes red.
"Oh my god." Peter whispered.
"So that's why you said it was ironic when younger you asked if they still lived." Valkyrie said.
The blue starts to fade away. Loki says that the casket wasn;t the only thing that Odin took from Jotunheim, then walks to the foot of the stairs.
"Ooo, shits about to get real." Tony said. Pepper smacked him.
Odin says that he found a baby in the aftermath of the battle. He says that ot was small for a giants offspring and that it was abandoned and left to die. He says that it was Laufey's son.
Loki repeats it.
Odin confirms.
Loki says that Odin was knee deep in Jotun blood and asks why he took him.
Odin says Loki was an innocent child.
"No, that cant be the only reason, he wouldn't just take the offspring of his enemy because he believed it to be innocent." Steve said.
Loki denies and says that Odin took him for a purpose and asks him to tell him what it was. There are tears in his eyes.
Odin says that he thought he could unite the two kingdoms through Loki.
"That's why he took you?" Gamora asked.
"Wrong answer." Quill said, referring to what Odin said.
Odin says that the plans don't matter anymore.
Loki realizes that he's just another stolen relic locked up until he can be of use.
Odin asks him why he's twisting his words.
"He didn't have to twist words at all that is pretty much how you explained it." Nebula said, she understands, sort of, maybe not the exact same experience but a similar one.
Loki tells Odin that he could have told him what he was earlier and asks why he didn't.
Odin says he wanted to protect Loki from the truth.
"Yeah because withholding the truth from people to protect them always works out exactly how you want it to." Steve said. "Lying in the name of protection is still lying."
"You speak too soon Captain Rogers." Loraine said. Steve looked confused. Who was he keeping secrets from? Bucky looked worried.
Loki asks if it was because he's the monster parents tell their children of at night.
"Loki-" Thor protested, remembering the words he spoke when he was a child. 'When I'm king, I'll hunt the monsters down and slay them all.' Loki ignored him an indifferent look on his face.
Bruce winced, but it went un-noticed to everyone except Natasha.
"The Kronan are considered an aggressive species, would you ever call Korg a monster?" Valkyrie asked.
"No. Of course not." Loki said. Korg was possibly the nicest being he's ever met.
"Then you see my point and I rest my case. You aren't a monster." Valkyrie said.
"Monsters aren't born, they're made. If anything it was your later actions that made you one, not your race." Peter said. A few people looked surprised, such wise words from someone so young. Loki glanced at him but said nothing.
Loki says Odin favoring Thor for their entire lives finally makes sense.
Nebula felt a small pang of sympathy for Loki, after all she knew firsthand what is was like to always come in second best.
He says no matter how much Odin claims to love him he wouldn't risk having a frost giant on Asgards throne.
A few of the avengers had a newfound, small amount, of sympathy for Loki. New York aside, this was a person finding out he was not in fact the son of Odin, he was essentially being lied to even if it was for his protection and on top of all of that he finds out he is the offspring of Asgard's enemies and the race he was always told were monsters, the people they were always taught to hate. They were starting to understand his motivation better.
"So he was born to be a villain." Clint said.
"Nobody is born a villain, Clint. I would think that you of all people know that." Natasha said quietly.
Odin falls to the floor. Loki bends down next to him and calls the guards for help. Two guards come rushing in.
"What happened to him." Howard asked.
"He fell into the Odinsleep." Thor explained.
People still looked confused. "What is that?" Tony asked.
"A sleep where he recharges the Odinforce, which is what gives him his power." Thor answered.
