Nova Prime is on a call with the Kree Prime says that Ronan is destroying Xandarian outposts throughout the galaxy. She says that that should call for some response on the Kree's part
The Kree ambassador says that they signed the peace treaty and asks what more she could want.
"Maybe for you to stop Ronan from trying to wipe Xandarian people from existence." Rocket said.
"That would be a good place to start." Gamora agreed.
Nova Prime says that she wants a statement from the Kree Empire saying that they condemn Ronan's actions. She says that he is slaughtering children and families.
"He's a monster." Mantis said, softly.
The Kree ambassador says that that is her business.
"How is that their business? He's your leader. At least show a shred of sympathy." Clint yelled.
The Kree ambassador says that he has other matters to attend to and he ends the call.
Nova Prime calls him a prick.
"Indeed." Nebula agreed.
Peter, Gamora, Rocket and Groot are being profiled by the Nova Corps. Saal says that the good news is that they've apprehended one of Ronan's compatriots.
Gamora growled, she was not working with Ronan.
Dey is presenting the four of them. He starts talking about Gamora. He says that she is surgically modified and trained as a living weapon.
Bucky and Natasha both discretely glanced at Gamora, who looked uncomfortable having that information, common knowledge to others it may be, exposed like this.
He says that she is the adopted daughter of Thanos. He says that Thanos lent her and Nebula to Ronan recently which leads them to believe that Thanos and Ronan are working together.
"Well, they got right... sort of." Gamora said.
He starts talking about Rocket. He says that his name is subject 89P13 and he calls himself Rocket. He says that he is the result if illegal genetic and cybernetic experiments on a lower life form.
Everyone, except the guardians, looked ready to as questions. Rocket glared at them as if he was daring them to try.
He starts talking about Groot. He says that Groot is a humanoid plant that has been recently traveling as Rocket's muscle/ houseplant.
"I am groot."
"Of course you're not a house plant." Rocket said.
Dey says that Peter is from Terra and he was raised by a group of mercenaries called the Ravagers led by Yondu Udonta.
Peter is winding up his middle finger. He apologizes and says that he didn't know how the machine worked.
"You're such a dick." Clint, Scott, Sam and Tony laughed.
Sall calls the 4 of them A-holes and says to transport all of them to the Kyln.
"What's the Kyln?" Scott asked.
"Maximum security space prison." Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Quill said.
'The Kyln: High security prison.' appears on the screen.
The four of them are walking with some guards. Rocket says that most of the Nova Corps want to uphold the laws but the ones there are corrupt and cruel but isn't his problem. He says that he's escaped 22 prisons and this one isn't any different.
"Are you sure its the best idea to say that in front of the guards?" Scott asked.
Rocket tells Peter that he's lucky Gamora showed up because if she didn't him and Groot would be collecting his bounty and he would be getting drawn and quartered by the Ravagers.
"I'm sure I would be." Quill said.
Peter says that he's had a lot of people try to kill him over the years and he isn't about to be brought down by a tree and a talking raccoon.
Rocket asks what a raccoon is.
"Uh... it's what you are." Peter(Parker) said.
"I thought he was a rabbit." Thor said, confused.
Peter tells him that its what he is.
Rocket says that there isn't anything like him except him.
"So you don't know what a raccoon is?" Tony asked.
Peter compares the orb to a few things and asks what it is.
"I am groot."
Peter asks 'so what.'
"You didn't know he only spoke 3 words?" Steve asked.
Peter asks what the orb is.
Gamora says that she has no words for an honorless thief.
Rocket says that that was pretty high and mighty for the lackey of a genocidal maniac. He says that anyone who's anyone knows who she is.
"Must have been tough to shake that background." Natasha said.
"You have no idea." Gamora sighed.
Peter says that they know who she is then turns to Groot and asks who she is.
Everyone laughed.
"I am Groot." Peter says that he's said that.
Gamora says that she wasn't retrieving the orb for Ronan but she was betraying him. She says that she had an agreement to sell it to a third party.
"And who would that be?" Fury asked, all this back and forth with the orb was getting confusing.
"You'll find out soon enough." Gamora answered.
"I am Groot." Peter says that that's as fascinating as the first 89 times he's told him that. He asks what's wrong with him and calls him Giving tree.
Rocket says that Groot doesn't talk like them and his vocabulary is limited to 'I' and 'am' and 'groot.' specifically in that order.
"How can you tell what he's saying if all he says are those three words?" Peggy asked.
"It's all in the syllables. Once you get used to it, its not that hard to learn." Quill answered.
Peter says that that's going to wear real thin real fast. He sees a guard with his Walkman.
"Here we go." Gamora and Rocket sighed.
Peter tells him to put it away. He steps inside of the room. He tells the man to take the headphones and says that the tape and player are his.
"Are they allowed to use prisoners personal things?" Steve asked.
"Technically... no." Rocket answered.
"But no one would stop them if they did." Sam added.
The guard electrocutes Peter. Peter gives the song title and artist and says that it belongs to him.
"Pretty sure it belongs to whoever wrote it, but go off." Shuri said.
'Hooked on a Feeling' starts playing. Gamora watches as the guard electrocutes Peter.
"You really meant it when you said you didn't learn." Maria sighed.
Peter is standing shirtless in a different room, being sprayed with orange liquid.
"What is that stuff?" Rhodey asked.
He gets shoved into a room. He turns around, angry but gets stopped by some drones. He sits on a bench and puts a yellow shirt on, a guard shoves Rocket in the room with him, who puts his clothes on. Quill averts his gaze, when he sees Rocket's back.
"Well... that's the Kyln for you. Reserved for the worst of the worst." Rocket muttered.
The four of them walk into another room, guards aggressively hand them blankets, then they enter the main prison area. Something hits Peter in the face, the song stops.
Gamora sighed, knowing what was coming next.
The prisoners start giving Gamora death threats.
"Jesus, they really hate you." Natasha and Bucky said.
Rocket says that Gamora has a reputation and that a lot of people in the prison have lost their families to Ronan. He says that Gamora will last a day.
Peter asks if the guards will protect her.
"You are very ignorant to the prison system aren't you?" Loki asked. "The guards won't care."
Rocket says that the guards are here to keep them from escaping and they don't care what they do to each other inside.
Gamora says that whatever nightmares compared to what's behind her.
"You should put that on a fortune cookie." Peter (Parker) said.
"A what?" Gamora asked.
A blue alien appears in front of Peter. He puts his hand on Peter's chin and says that he's going to slather him in Gunavian jelly and go to town.
Everyone cringed.
"That's nasty." Sam said.
Groot sticks his fingers in the aliens nose and lifts him up. Rocket says that Peter is they're booty and if they want to get to him that go through him and pushes his fingers through the aliens skull. Rocket says that more accurately he and Groot would go through them. Groot rips his fingers from the aliens skull, causing him to fall.
"Well... that's one way to instill fear." T'Challa said, cringing.
He and Groot walk away, leaving the alien crying on the floor. Peter looks around and says that he's with them says and walks over the alien.
"Good move." Scott said.
Gamora is walking to her cell, prisoners surround her. A prisoner tells her that no cell would protect her for long. She walks in and sits on a bench, then the door closes.
A man bangs on it, she gasps. He tells her that she's dead and makes the universal sign for throat slitting.
"He did know what it meant." Quill whispered.
"Really? That's what you care about right now?" Gamora asked.
The prisoners slowly walk away. Drax is sitting alone at a table, watching.
"That looks very creepy, man." Clint said.
A group of prisoners are piled up on top of one another sleeping, Peter is awake. Groot is shown, also sleeping.
"That looks... uncomfortable." Thor, in all his ignorance, said.
A guard tells them to take her to the showers because it'll be easier to clean the blood up. A group of prisoners are walking with Gamora, one holds a knife to her throat.
"The guards are helping them?" Strange asked, appalled and quite frankly disgusted.
Gamora grunts as they mover her along. Peter sits up as they move her past his cell, he stands up and leaves, Rocket sits up and asks Peter what he's doing.
"You're an idiot." Rocket sighed.
A prisoner shoves Gamora against the wall and tells her to consider this a death sentence for her crimes against the galaxy.
Drax comes in and asks if they dare.
"Ah yes, night in shirtless armor." Tony said.
"Actually he wanted to kill me as well." Gamora said.
The prisoners turn to look at him. Drax asks if they know who he is. A prisoner recognizes him as Drax the Destroyer.
"What did you do to earn a name like that?" Hope asked.
Drax asks if he knows why they call him that.
The prisoner says that he's slayed dozens of Ronan's minions.
Drax says that Ronan murdered his wife and daughter.
"That's terrible." Everyone said.
Drax says that Ronan slaughtered them where they stood and he laughed.
"This Ronan guy is one sick bastard." Fury said, everyone agreed.
Drax says that Ronan murdered his family and he shall murder Ronan's in return.
"I am no family to Ronan." Gamora said, lowly.
The prisoner hands Drax his knife. Gamora quickly takes out two of the prisoners, holding knives to the prisoners' and Drax's throat.
Rocket asks Peter what he's doing.
"Something that seemed stupid at the time but actually worked." Quill answered.
Gamora says that she is no family to Thanos or Ronan.
Natasha looked over to her, seeing much of herself in the alien woman. Both of them were trained as this weapon, this thing that neither of them wanted to be, and both of them were trying to wipe out the red in their ledgers and escape their pasts.
She backs away from them and drops the knives and says that she is they're only hope at stopping him.
Drax grabs her by the neck and shoves her against the wall and says that her words mean nothing to him.
"I am sorry for what happened to your family, Drax." Gamora said.
Peter enters, cautiously. Rocket sighs. Peter says that if killing Ronan is his sole purpose this isn't how he should do it.
"Okay... at least you're trying." Steve said.
Drax asks if he isn't the man Gamora tried to kill.
Peter says that she isn't the first to try and do that.
"Why am I not surprised?" Valkyrie asked.
He lifts his shirt and shows him a scar and says that it was from a Rajak girl who stabbed him with a fork because she didn't like him skipping out in the morning.
"I couldn't imagine why." May said, sarcastically.
He pulls down the collar of his shirt to show another scar and says that its from a Kree girl who tried to rip out his thorax.
"And I thought my one night stands were bad." Tony said.
He says that the Kree girl caught him with an A'askavariian who worked in Nova records.
"An A'askavariian?" Loki, Valkyrie, Thor, Carol and Nebula asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Quill sighed.
"What's an A'askavariian?" Tony, Steve, Bruce, Clint and Scott asked.
He says that he was trying to get information. He asks if any of them have ever seen an A'askavariian and says that they have needles and tentacles for teeth.
"Gross."
He starts talking about what the point is.
"Finally we're getting somewhere." Maria said.
He says that Gamora betrayed Ronan and he's coming back for her. He says that when he does Drax can - he makes the universal sign for throat slitting.
Drax asks why he would put his finger on Ronan's throat.
"Well, you just got a whole lot less threatening." Carol said.
"He doesn't understand metaphors, figures of speech or anything that isn't completely straightforward and literal." Rocket explained.
Peter says that it's a symbol for Drax slicing his throat.
Drax says he wouldn't slice his throat but he would cut his head clean off.
"Hey, whichever works." Clint said.
Peter says that its a general expression for him killing someone. He turns to the prisoner behind him and does the symbol again then asks if he;s heard of it. The prisoner nods. Peter says that everyone knows.
Drax looks at the prisoner. The prisoner shakes his head.
Everyone laughed.
Peter sighs and says that Drax would want to keep her alive. He says not to do Ronan's work for him.
"Smart." Natasha said.
After a moment, Drax lets Gamora go, she falls to the ground coughing. Drax says that he likes the knife and he's keeping it and leaves.
The prisoner says that that was his favorite knife.
"I'm struggling to see how you people became a team, its seems to me that you all hate each other." Coulson said.
Peter is walking with Gamora and Rocket. Peter says that he could care less whether she lives or dies.
Gamora asks why he stopped Drax.
Peter says that she knows where to sell his orb.
"Seems logical to me, 'help me help you' and all that." Sam said.
Gamora asks how they're supposed to sell it when they're in prison.
Peter says that Rocket has escaped 22 prisons.
Rocket says that they're getting out of there then they're going to Yondu to retrieve the bounty.
"Dick." Quill muttered.
Peter asks how much her buyer is willing to pay for the orb.
Gamora says he was willing to pay 4 billion units and that the orb is her only opportunity to get away from Ronan and Thanos.
"Seems like there's a lot riding on this." Bucky said.
She says that if Rocket frees them she'll lead them to the buyer and they'll split the profit between the 3 of them.
"I have a feeling that won't go well." Hope said.
"I am Groot." Rocket says that they'll split it between the 4 of them and tells Groot that he's asleep for the danger but awake for the money as per usual.
"What could Groot possibly need the money for?" Tony asked.
Ronan and Nebula are having a virtual meeting with The Other.
Loki looked mildly uncomfortable seeing The Other on the screen.
The Other tells Ronan that he's been betrayed.
Ronan says that they only know that she's been captured and she could still get the orb.
The Other says that their sources in the Kyln say that Gamora has her own plans for the orb.
"And now they know." Maria sighed.
The Other says that his partnership with Thanos is at risk and he requires Ronan's presence.
"He's not gonna like that." Nebula said.
'Sanctuary: Domain of Thanos' appears on the screen.
Nebula, Gamora and Loki all looked uneasy seeing it.
Ronan tells Thanos that Gamora made this mess and yet he summons him.
"Something tells me Thanos won't appreciate being talked to like that, based on what we've heard of him so far." Fury said.
The Other advises Ronan to lower his voice.
Ronan says that Gamora lost a battle with some primitive.
Quill, Rocket and Groot looked offended, even though they had no idea which one of them he was talking about.
The Other tells Ronan that Thanos has put Gamora under his charge.
Ronan says that Gamora was apprehended by the Nova Corps. Nebula is shown fixing her arm.
Bucky glanced at her. She had cybernetic limbs as well?
The Other says that Ronan is one one there with nothing to show for it.
Ronan says that his sources say that Gamora meant to betray them the whole time.
"He sounds like a child throwing a fit because he didn't get what he wanted." Tony said.
The Other tells him to lower his tone.
Everyone flinched away from the screen, all for different reasons of course.
Ronan kills The Other, Nebula watches, shocked.
Loki started cheering.
"Loki." Thor scolded.
"I hated him." Loki said. After a moment the guardians joined in on the cheering.
Ronan says that he's only asking Thanos to take the matter more seriously. Thanos turns around.
"This is not gonna end well." Clint said.
Thanos tells him that the only matter he doesn't take seriously is him. He tells Ronan that his politics bore him and his demeanor is that of a pouty child and he's alienated his favorite daughter Gamora.
Gamora and Nebula looked at the screen sadly. Gamora because she never realized and Nebula for the obvious reason, that she was never good enough.
Loki looked behind him at Nebula, sympathy and recognition in his eyes. He obviously saw the similarities he shared with her. Both of them were going to great lengths to appease a father that would never care enough to notice and both living in the shadow of their older sibling. Perhaps she could become a friend.
Thanos tells him that he'll honor their agreement of they bring him the orb. He says that if he returns to him empty handed he'll bathe the stairways with his blood.
Everyone's eyes (the guardians') widened in terror at that. Whatever threat Ronan may be, Thanos is that times 10.
Nebula finishes her arm and stands up and thanks Thanos and says that it sounds fair. She walks over to Ronan and tells him that this is a fight he won't win and says that they should head to the Kyln.
"You're working with him now?" The humans, Thor and Carol yelled.
Thanos grins menacingly.
His smile sent a chill down everyone's spines.
