Summary: Kyoka Jirou had little to no idea just what she was getting into when she entered UA high school. Sure, there would be Hero training courses, along with normal classes, and plenty of boys to ignore. Enter Izuku Midoriya, the one guy in her class that has her attention from the start. There's just one tiny problem. She can't stand ghosts!
Author's Note: As far as powers go, like Danny's, Izuku's powers are influenced by emotions. Mostly anger, and fear. When he gets angry, his powers come out to play havoc since he can't control them properly, yet. Also, you'll see a bit of a Dark Danny version of Izuku poking his head up every now and then.

Worthless. Powerless. Quirkless. These were words that Izuku Midoriya heard on a near daily basis. Since the revelation of human beings suddenly developing superpowers, the abnormal had become the normal. And the normal had become the abnormal. Those that were born Quirkless were regarded as outcasts now, even though just over twenty percent of the population was still born as such.
And that number was shrinking with each passing year.
In truth, however, Izuku wasn't born Quirkless at all. He had inherited his mother's Quirk apparently, and try as he might, the Quirk was really...really...weak. His mother's Quirk was a form of Telekinesis that allowed her to attract small objects toward her such as books, plates, utensils used around the house etc. Izuku's Quirk was similar, but seemed to be more powerful.
He could move any object he wanted with his Quirk, no matter how big it was, but it moved very slowly when it was something large. For example, when he lifted the couch in their living room so his mother could vacuum, it took about five minutes for it to reach four feet high, and that was while Izuku was trying very hard. Smaller objects moved much faster, however. But not that fast. If he wanted to float a coffee mug into the kitchen, it moved decently fast enough that it only took thirty seconds.
He could make marbles orbit his hands easily enough. This was in fact an exercise he used to make his Quirk stronger. But it did little to help with his development. Still, this didn't deter him. Ever since he had seen a news cast about the Japanese debut of All Might, the world's Number One Hero, he had been obsessed with becoming one himself. He and his childhood friend were of one mind in that aspect.
Katsuki Bakugo, his friend since their preschool days, had gotten what could have been the best of all Quirks in Izuku's opinion. Katsuki's sweat from his palms was just like nitroglycerin, and he could make it explode at will. The two boys had been so excited when the little blond boy had gotten his Quirk, Izuku had wished for a Quirk as cool as his.
In a way, he had gotten his wish. Telekinetic type Quirks like his mother's were extremely rare. His Quirk was a slightly stronger variation of her own, but it was still fundamentally worthless for Hero work.
Katsuki had taken pity on him and offered to make him his sidekick when they went to Hero school, but it was meant as an insult. Since getting their respective Quirks, a rift had developed between the two of them.
Katsuki liked to throw his weight around, and bully others because he thought his Quirk was the absolute strongest there was. Izuku was the opposite. Whenever the blond was trying to hurt someone, the little green-haired boy stepped in, and usually took the brunt of Katsuki's blasts.
And so, as it was, Katsuki and Izuku's relationship as friends was all but destroyed. While Izuku wanted to be friends with him still, Katsuki thought of the other child as nothing but a stepping stone, which was encouraged by his teachers in the schools they attended throughout their lives.
By the time they were both fourteen and ready to enter Highschool, Katuski had a massive superiority complex, and treated even adults with weaker Quirks as what he called "extras". Something that he could ignore, and just step on whenever he wanted. He even made a habit of calling Izuku a horrible name that used the same characters as his given name. "Deku", meaning useless. Izuku, however, remained the same, mostly. He was still determined to become a Hero, and trained both his Quirk and his body each day since he'd turned ten.
The result was a decently fit, and strong young man that, even though his Quirk was still fairly weak, had a decent amount of power behind a punch. And thanks to Katuski's near constant bullying, his body had become extremely resistant to damage. Even a grenade force blast from the blond just barely scorched him nowadays, and even Katsuki was wary of him at times.
Sometimes, when Izuku got angry, his eyes would glow an eerie green color, and his Quirk seemed to grow ten times in strength, as did the rest of him. But seeing Deku angry was something of a rarity.
But that didn't mean that it hardly happened.
Aldera Junior High, the junior high school that Izuku and Katsuki attended, was easily the rowdiest school the normally placid teen had ever been to. The years he had spent there were mostly about him keeping his head down, but that was hard to do with someone like Katsuki Bakugo stirring up trouble every day.
The teacher had just asked them all to turn in their career papers, and had said something about them all wanting to be Heroes. That had set all of them off, and all of the students began showing off their Quirks. Bakugo was sitting at his desk with his feet propped up with black smoke rising from his palms.
Izuku tried to ignore it as he scribbled down some notes in one his notebooks dubbed "Hero Analysis for the Future Vol.13". He wanted to keep up with working Heroes' tactics and fighting styles so he could incorporate it into his own unique style. For example, when Bakugo fought, he always led the fight with a big, almot wild, right hook. As agile as he had become, Izuku could most likely hold his own for a small amount of time against him. [If only my Quirk was stronger.] He thought idly chewing on his pencil.
"Don't make me laugh, Teach," he heard Bakugo snort, "There's no way in hell I'm on the same level as all these extras," he set off a small explosion from his hands, "My Quirk is a hundred times more powerful than anyone's here!"
Naturally, the other students, even those that thought of themselves as Bakugo's friends, got upset and starting yelling at him, to which he threatened to blow them to smithereens.
"Ah, yes, Bakugo, you're trying to get into U.A., aren't you," the teacher said in a prideful tone. Izuku hated to think about it, but Aldera let the blond get away with quite a bit because he had a very good chance of getting into U.A. and he would be the first student from the school to get in. Such a thing would boost their ranking in the school system. Which meant better pay.
"U.A. is totally the best school for Heroes," one of the students said, before growing quiet, "But I hear that they're only accepting those with an average of eighty this year in the written exams."
"Yeah, not to mention I hear that the practical is super hard and dangerous." Another said.
The mood of the class dropped after hearing that. It wasn't surprising to Izuku. He'd done his research. U.A.'s tests were no joke. Even after entering the school, he'd read about one entire classing being expelled the very first day!
Bakugo didn't lose his attitude, "Man, look at all you wimps!" He cackled, "You're all trembling at the mention of how tough U.A. is!" He jumped up on his desk, grinning widely, "I'm gonna ace that stinking test, and then I'm gonna be greater even All Might! I'll the richest, most famous Hero that ever lived!"
[All I see is a Hero that's gonna be worse than Endeavor when it comes to collateral damage,] Izuku thought as he finished his notes, and tucked the book in to his bag.
"Well, I do believe that Mister Midoriya is also planning to attend U.A." The teacher said, effectively putting the green-haired teen in the crosshairs. Bakugo's eyes went white with rage in an instant.
"Hey, yeah," one of the students said, "Izuku's Quirk ain't all that strong, but Telekinetic Quirks are super rare!"
"I bet they'll take him right away just because of that!" Said another student.
Izuku was happy for the support, but...
BOOOOM
...now he was short a desk.
"What the hell're they talking about, Deku!?" Bakugo roared in Izuku's face. The teen barely flinched, used to his outbursts. "There's no way in hell you're messing this up for me! I'm gonna be the only one from this shitty school that gets into U.A.!"
Izuku frowned at him, and looked down at his desk, what was left of it, and sighed, "I'm not going to argue with you about this again, Kacchan," he said quietly, though inside he was trembling. Katsuki's blasts might not damage him as much as they used to, but they still hurt like hell. "You can't stop me from trying anymore than I can stop you."
"How's about I blast you to kingdom come!" Bakugo threatened.
Izuku looked at him, "Even you aren't that stupid." He said boldly, "You do that, and even the teachers won't turn a blind eye this time." Katsuki's eye twitched, "Besides," Izuku went on, "from the way you're talking right now, it almost sounds like you're afraid of me."
"Afraid!?" Bakugo roared, "Of you?! Don't make me laugh!"
"Then why are you so set in making me fail," Izuku snapped, his eye glowing green, "If I'm such a weakling, then you don't need to worry. If I'm so weak, then all you need to do is sit back, shut up, and stay out of my way." His eyes began to get a tint of red to them around the edges, and Bakugo's snarl dropped just a bit, "Otherwise you wouldn't be hounding me so much, or anyone!"
By now Bakugo was smoldering, in more ways than one as his palms were popping off tiny explosions, and ready to blow Izuku's head off.
"Mister Bakugo, I know that I don't need to remind you that that using your Quirk in the middle of class is against school regulations." The teacher said, not wanting to witness a fight between his students.
Bakugo scoffed, and meandered back to his desk with his hands stuffed into his pockets. Izuku was left without a desk for the rest of the period, however the red tint to his normally green eyes never left.

As school finally let out for the day, Izuku was eager to get home. The entrance exams for U.A. were just over ten months away, and there was plenty of time for him to study, and train before taking them. He was sure that he could train his Quirk into a stronger version by then. If not, he'd still try to get in. Not all Heroes had powerful Quirks after all!
As he exited the school, he broke out into a jog, and quickly hopped over the fence using his Quirk to lift himself. [If only I could fly,] he thought to himself with a small wishful smile.
Suddenly an explosion caught his attention as Katsuki blindsided him just as he touched down. "Where do you think you're going, Deku!"
Izuku yelped as he hit the ground, his left uniform sleeve smoking. He glared up at his aggressors as Katsuki was flanked by his two lackeys. A big kid with bat wings, and one tall skinny one with extendable fingers. Bakugo was holding up his hands, causing larger explosions to go off. "We ain't done, you nerd."
He reached down and grasped Izuku by his collar, and hoisted him up, "Look here, Deku, I'm doing you a favor," he sneered, sounding calm, "Your Quirk's weak as hell, so there's no way you'd pass the practical exams U.A. sets up. So why even bother with taking the written exam if you're not going to pass the important part?"
"Because I want to be a Hero, too," Izuku choked out just as Katsuki set off a firecracker pop beside his face with his free hand. The blond's face had gone from calm to slightly angered, "I don't care what you do to me, Kacchan, you're not stopping me for reaching for my dreams!"
Now he looked crazed as a large sneering grin spread across his face, "Oh, really?" His shirt began to smolder in the boy's grip, "You really don't care what I do to you?"
Izuku's face was suddenly singed as another blast hit him square in the face, burning his skin slightly.
"Dude, maybe you should tone it down a little," the fingers lackey said, "If he goes to the cops, then it's all over, man."
"He's right, Bakugo," the fat one said, "Besides, he ain't worth it. We all know he's gonna fail, anyway." He grinned at the trapped teen, "Just like his old man."
Bakugo sneered, "Tch," he scoffed, and dropped him, "You're right."
Izuku, however, didn't hit the ground like he had planned. His Quirk levitated him just before he hit the ground and stood him upright. He didn't turn to run, however, and darted passed a surprised Bakugo to punch the fat lackey square in the face, and send him crashing to the ground. "Oh, what the hell - ?!"
"Don't talk about my dad!" Izuku snarled down at him with red glowing eyes. "Don't ever talk about my dad!"
Bakugo was so surprised by the show of aggression from this former friend that he didn't even stop him as he brushed passed him, and left the trio of bullies behind.
The boy he'd hit staggered back to his feet, tears welling up in his eyes, "Jeez! When did he get so tough?" He winced as he touched his sore cheek, "That kind'a burns!" He whined while Bakugo gave the injury a small check. He noticed that, while faint, there was a small burn on his cheek in the shape of Deku's fist.
[The hell?] Bakugo frowned as his eyes chased after the boy's running figure, [I thought he had his mom's Quirk?] He ground his teeth as a thought occurred to him, [Dammit, has that little shit been holding back this entire time!?]
While Bakugo either wouldn't admit it, or just didn't know, he had a streak of paranoia about others around them. He always thought himself superior until he saw their Quirk may be stronger than his own. It was only after beating the ever living hell out of them that his paranoia stopped. [If he has, then why hasn't he fought back until now?] He wondered as Deku disappeared.

Malachor prison was one of the smaller prisons in the area reserved for small time criminals, and villains. Mostly thugs, malcontents, and petty thieves. It was in this prison that Hiashi Midoriya was kept. His Quirk was called Fire Breath, a fire based Quirk that, as the name states, allowed him to breathe fire. The man had once tried to be a Hero, but his Quirk wasn't good enough for such a line of work, so he was forced to take a job that suited his Quirk.
Unfortunately for him, his Quirk relied heavily on his emotional state. Once angered, his Quirk grew too strong for him to control, and the result had been the deaths of several people.
In court, he readily admitted to being responsible for the incident, and the lives lost because he couldn't control his Quirk. Rather than being sentenced to the maximum security of Tartarus, he was placed in Malachor, closer to his family so that they could visit, and was serving a light ten year sentence.
"You really shouldn't have come on your own, Son," Hiashi chastised Izuku as the boy sat on the opposite side of the glass, "This isn't a safe neighborhood."
Izuku frowned, "I know, Dad, but I...I just needed to talk," he sighed, "And you know mom can be..."
"Just like you?" Hiashi smirked with a slight chuckle, "I know, I know, but still, I hope you told her you were coming," he sighed in exasperation as the boy shook his head, "Well, tell me what's on your mind?"
Izuku frowned. "I...I think I might be losing control...of my Quirk."
Hiashi's kind demeanor disappeared, "Son, you're not saying - ?"
"I think I have something of your Quirk, too." Izuku said in a rush, "I just..."
Hiashi frowned and waved the guard over. "I need a little more time today," he whispered to the man, "He thinks his Quirk might be going nuts like mine did."
The guard nodded, "I'll tell the warden," he said, "Last think I wanna hear about is a kid in your position."
Hiashi nodded his thanks and returned his attention to his son. "Alright, tell me everything, and don't leave anything out."
"Well," Izuku began, "When I feel angry...or upset..." He trailed off.
Hiashi smiled at him, "Go on."
Izuku sighed, "It's like I can...hear someone in that back of my mind," he said, "It's faint, but I always know it's there," he frowned, "And today...I...I kind'a blanked out." Hiashi raised his brow at him, "Kacchan and his friends were picking on me again." He explained and the man just palmed his face, "I know, I know, but I keep hoping that he'll grow out of it!" Izuku frowned as he tried to explain.
"By the time that happens he'll be in here, and I'll be outside," Hiashi grumbled. He knew Katsuki Bakugo from a child, and if there was one thing he was sure of, it's that the kid had problems.
"Anyway," Izuku sighed, "One of them said something about you, and...I...I can't remember what I did after that, except that I had walked to the train station."
Hiashi sat back, "Sounds about right," he sighed, "Listen, Son, I can't begin to understand what's going on. With my Quirk, I pretty much just lost it, and started spewing out flames like a volcano. Yours is pretty similar to your mother's Quirk, and rare to boot." Hiashi sighed, "But even a weak Telekinetic Quirk like yours can be dangerous. Maybe you should go in for a Quirk evaluation, and see if there's been any sign of a mutation in the Quirk itself, or if its been getting stronger on its own."
"I wish it was," Izuku sighed, looking down at his hands, "I train with it as much as I can, and I'm pretty fit for someone my age, but my Quirk is just...it hasn't gotten any stronger since I got it."
"That doesn't make a difference right now, Izuku," Hiashi said, "Look at my Quirk. I didn't think it was capable of doing the damage I did, but it was. And now I'm five years away from stepping out of this prison, and holding my little boy that's going to be a man soon, and maybe getting ready to start a family of his own." The man sighed, "Humor me, Izuku," he pleaded, "Go to a Quirk analyst, and get checked out. I don't want what happened to me to happen to you."
Izuku nodded, "Alright. I'll talk to Mom about it tonight." He said, smiling, "Hey, did I tell you I'm gonna try for U.A.?"
"Really? Now that's my boy!" Hiashi grinned, happier now, "And don't you let that Bakugo brat put you down anymore. You're worth ten of him, and more because of that damned attitude of his." He said, "You know that bullies only try to hurt people that are better than they are."
Izuku smiled at his father and placed his hand against the window, "Thanks, Dad."
"Any time, Son," he placed his own hand against the window where Izuku's was, "Now go home, and give your mother my love. And be careful. If something happens to you because you came to see me, so help me I'll demand a transfer to Tartarus!"
Izuku laughed at his father's horrible joke, "Just you wait, Dad, I'll be a Hero you can be proud of!"
Hiashi shook his head, "You're my son," Hiashi smiled at him, "I'm always proud of you."

It was beginning to get late by the time Izuku arrived back in his part of town. [Don't let Kacchan push me around anymore, huh?] He thought tiredly as he walked his way home, [And I'm pretty sure he bullies me because he wants to.] He sighed as he passed under a bridge.
He shook his head, [Dad's right, though, I need to get checked out to see if something's off with my Quirk.] He looked down at his right hand, flexing it tightly, "Why can't I be stronger?"
"Hmm," said a gurgling voice behind him, "Invisibility cloak, size M."
The hairs on the back of his neck stood straight up as he turned around, paling. A large blog of green sludge was spreading out around him and engulfed him, [What?! A villain!?] He wanted to scream or yell out for help, but the villain had already covered his mouth and nose to prevent him from crying out. The sludge tried making it's way down his throat, but he resisted.
"Come on, Kid," the sludge villain sneered with large sharp teeth, "It'll be less painful if you just give in. Hehe, you won't feel any pain...for long!" He growled.
[No!] Izuku struggled, his fingers digging at the sludge around his face. [I can't breathe!]
"Seriously, kid," the sludge villain said, "You're my Hero today!" He said mockingly, "If I hadn't found somebody to hide in, I might've been caught before long if it's that guy!"
Izuku could feel his consciousness fading as he fought against the villain, [No...not like this...] he growled, and began to call on his Quirk, [I'm not gonna die like this!] His eyes began to glow, [I've got too much to do!]
"Hey, what the hell are you trying to do?" The villain demanded as he felt something off when his prey ceased struggling while a green glow began to shine around him. "What kind'a power is this?!"
A ring formed around the pair of them, and Izuku felt power surging through him. [Get. Off. Of. ME!] In a great flash of light, the villain was suddenly blow apart, and splattered the street around him. The resulting shockwave of whatever he had done was enough that it ruffled the hair of the watching Hero nearby as a large smile appeared on his face.
The boy was something else. The Hero knew that from the moment the fight began. Any normal kid his age would've succumbed within thirty seconds. But the young man had fought against his captor, and done something miraculous. Where a slightly scrawny, green haired boy had been now floated a white haired young man with glowing green eyes, and no longer did he have the school uniform, but a black jumpsuit with a white collar, gloves, and boots.
[This boy,] the Hero smiled as he rose up from the sewer where he had been chasing the sludge villain, [Will become an excellent Hero.]

Shortly after, Izuku would be rushed to the hospital while a call to his mother had been made. It was reported that All Might had witness him defending himself from a villain, and detained said villain long enough for the World's #1 Hero to capture him, and call for aid since the boy seemed to be exhausted from the ordeal.
While Inko Midoriya rushed herself to the hospital where her little boy was being kept, an "agent" under All Might's employ would be waiting with Izuku to talk to both of them when he awoke.
And so this is the beginning of how a young man took his first steps onto the path of becoming the World's Greatest Hero.

Author's Note: Yeah, Izuku didn't meet All Might, this time, but Toshinori will be the one waiting for him when he wakes up, obviously, and offer the training he needs to control his newly awakened powers.
It's not great, but I hope now that I've got the first chapter out, I'll be able to do better. I've also chose Kyoka Jirou as the pairing for a fair few reasons. 1) She's basically Sam Manson except she's more punk rock than goth. 2) She has a fear of ghosts, and anything horror related, so that should be fun to work with since Izuku is a Phantom. 3) I still don't thing there's enough stories of her paired with the little green bean.
Anyway, if you wanna see more, then you all know exactly what to do. Until next time, adios amigos!
