Fairy Tail Guildhall, Night…
Kakashi was sat at the bar next to Cana as the two of them chatted about random things of little to no importance. It was nice, in a way, for the two of them. A good way to just unwind, but eventually Kakashi felt like taking a walk.
"Well, this was nice as always Cana." The Copy Mage stood. "We must do it again sometime."
Cana turned to him. "Hey, you got anywhere in particular you're going?"
"Not really. Thought I'd look around Magnolia and see what the night has to offer before heading back to my apartment." He looked at her while scratching his chin. "If you wanted to continue our chat, I suppose I wouldn't mind the company."
Cana smirked. "You know, if you wanted a first date, you could have asked."
She was hoping to make the former Shinobi blush.
Kakashi was never one to blush really. "Perhaps one day soon we will."
Cana did in fact blush because she did not think the former Jonin had interest in anyone within the guild. Let alone her of all people. She didn't mind the books he read, but she had assumed they gave him eyes for the other women of the guild.
Kakashi started walking while glancing back at her. "You coming?"
Cana stood and came up to his side as they walked out together to the shock of many.
Minato observed his former student from the second floor. "Good for you Kakashi." He smiled proudly. "If it ends up working out, they'll be good for each other." His eyes were drawn to a certain blue cat near the S Class board. "That's interesting."
Magnolia Streets
Kakashi and Cana walked side by side along the streets.
"You know, Magnolia is almost nothing like what we have back in the Elemental Nations." Kakashi commented.
"I suppose it wouldn't be." Cana stated. "What do you mean by almost?"
"Well, people lived their best lives despite the constant danger." Kakashi stated. "While there isn't as much danger in this world, I've come to realize there isn't as true a peace as I initially thought. Still, the people of Magnolia live their best lives."
"When you put it that way, I can see it." Cana stated. "Honestly, when I first arrived there were other things on my mind." Kakashi picked up that there was more she wanted to say. "As I came to call this home, I couldn't picture any other place as that.
This is where I belong, but I won't lie. For reasons I don't wish to say, I've thought about one day leaving Fairy Tail behind. As much as I love my home, there is something that could inevitably compel me to go."
"I see." Kakashi stated.
"I suppose a Shinobi like you wants to lecture me on how wrong it would be to abandon the guild or something." Cana stated downtrodden.
"Not exactly." Kakashi stated surprising her. "A guild isn't the same as a village. From what I gather, we're free to leave when we wish to. Naturally, you haven't told me your reasons, so it's not like I can come up with much to rebuke you."
"Well, I didn't expect that response." Cana admitted.
"I was starting to worry that I was losing touch with my unpredictability." Kakashi looked at her. "I'm fairly certain you haven't expressed a desire to one day leave the guild to anyone else, and I don't expect you to tell me; however, I'd be willing to listen if you ever wanted to talk about it."
"Thank you, Kakashi." Cana nodded. "It means a lot that you haven't judged me harshly. I'm glad I could at least trust you with this." She looked to the sky. "Maybe I can trust you with more sooner rather than later."
Kakashi's Apartment, Later…
Kakashi ended up leading himself and Cana back to his apartment, but this was bound to happen when you had no real destination in mind.
The Copy Mage looked to Cana. "Considering you kept me company all this time, how about I repay you with a drink. I don't have alcohol, but I could brew a pot of coffee."
Cana smiled. "It may not be alcohol, but I think I'd enjoy a cup."
Kakashi unlocked his door, and they stepped in only to find Gray sitting at his table in his boxers. "I always knew I'd come to regret inviting my team into my apartment."
"Gray, put your clothes on!" Cana shouted.
It was such a natural thing for the Card Mage to say that it became the greeting before even Gray could speak.
"Gah, when did this happen!" Gray shouted. "I'll need to find my clothes before the mission."
"Is that why you're in my apartment?" Kakashi asked.
"Yeah." Gray nodded. "Turns out our resident pyro had his partner in crime up to no good. Happy attempted to take an S Class quest only for Minato to catch him. He had to inform the master, so now those two are being punished.
At the same time, Minato convinced gramps to let him take a few wizards out on the mission Happy tried to steal. He asked me, and I wasn't about to turn it down. He then tasked me with coming to find you."
"An S Class Quest." Cana nodded. "Those do pay well."
"This one is no exception." Gray picked the flyer up off the table and passed it over to Kakashi. "Seven million jewel divided three ways and a golden gate key is better than anything I've made from a single job. Are you in?"
Kakashi looked to Cana. "You wouldn't mind rescheduling coffee?"
"No worries from me." Cana walked towards the door. "That said, I'll hold you to this."
Once she was gone, Kakashi nodded. "Alright, count me in."
Soon enough, the two wizards left Kakashi's apartment and met Minato at the train station. That said, Kakashi couldn't help but wonder how Master was punishing Natsu and Happy.
Guildhall
Natsu and Happy were forced to wall sit with buckets of water on their heads and along their arms.
"You two will stay like that until I say differently." Makarov declared. "Should you drop them before my command, you two won't be allowed to go on any missions for a full month, and you'll be cleaning this place from top to bottom."
"Man, this sucks!" Natsu yelled. "Why'd you get caught Happy?"
"Hey don't blame me." Happy whined. "I thought I could get by Minato."
Hargeon: Day
Kakashi and Gray followed Minato as they walked through Hargeon to the docks.
"Well, seems as though the place was able to rebuild well after Aquarius devastated everything." Kakashi thought.
"So, I suppose our first step would be to find a boat that will take us to Galuna." Gray stated.
"That is logical." Minato replied.
Unfortunately, the wizards weren't having much luck in that department as every person they asked just would not take them to the cursed island. Eventually, they managed to find someone willing to take them after showing their guild mark. He had dark skin, black hair, and black eyes.
Aboard the Ship: Night…
The group had been sailing for a while before Kakashi decided to start questioning there guide. "So, you were the only sailor brave enough to head on over to the curse island. Got a particular reason?"
"Firstly, the name's Bobo." The man nodded. "Secondly, I used to be a citizen of Galuna Island, but I had to flee since I couldn't take it." He glanced back at them. "I should warn you. Tragedy befalls anyone who sets foot on the island. There's no avoiding it unless you lift the curse."
"What is this curse you speak of?" Minato inquired.
Bobo threw aside his cloak revealing that one of his arms was a demon's. "This vile curse."
"Whoa, so that's the curse." Gray commented.
"We're almost there." Bobo pointed to an island in the distance. "That's Galuna Island."
"Peculiar." Minato commented. "Do you two see that? The highest point of the island is giving off a glow."
Kakashi and Gray nodded. "We see it."
Gray was the first to turn back towards Bobo only to realize he wasn't there. "Guys, didn't we have a captain just a minute ago?"
"Another problem." Kakashi turned to the left. "I'm fairly certain it's not Aquarius' fault."
The other guys turned to see that a tidal wave was coming down on them.
"Everyone, keep ahold of the boat!" Minato yelled.
The wave came down on top of them.
Galuna Island: Day…
The group came to and lifted the boat only to see that it was now day indicating they'd been out for hours at least.
"Is anyone hurt?" Minato asked.
"I'm cool." Gray replied.
Kakashi nodded. "I've been through worse."
"That's good." Minato had collected the boat and found a good place to set it before further addressing the pair. "Something about this strikes me as odd since people don't just disappear like that."
"Perhaps whoever cursed this island abducted him." Gray offered.
"It's a possibility." Minato shook his head. "For now, we should press on with the mission." He took out a map. "According to the map, there is only one village on this entire island, so that must be where the village chief is. He's the one who put the request in."
"We should get moving then." Kakashi stated.
Galuna Village: Night…
The trio finally made it to the village and came to stand before a wooden gate.
"Well, we're here." Gray stated. "Now what?"
"We get their attention." Minato stepped forward. "Hey, is there anyone in there! We're Wizards from Fairy Tail, and we're here to help you!"
Two villagers appeared at the top of the gate.
"We were notified our job was accepted, but how do we know you are Fairy Tail Wizards?"
"Let us see your emblems!"
The three wizard did as they were asked.
"They're here! They're really here!"
The gates opened and the group were permitted entry. Upon entering, they were greeted to many, cloaked people with one stepping forward.
"I am Moka, the Village Chief." Moka declared. "On behalf of everyone here, I welcome you. Pleasantries aside, there is something you must see." He looked at the villagers. "Now, my people."
They all removed their cloaks to reveal that every village was afflicted with the same condition as Bobo. The chief was a short, bald man with long, silver sideburns running from the length of his face down to his hips.
"Everyone on the island has suffered a horrible disfigurement because of this curse." Moka stated.
"Excuse us for asking, but what makes you think this is a curse?" Gray inquired. "This could turn out to be some kind of infectious disease."
"We've consulted with dozens of doctors young man, and they all agree no such disease exists." Moka informed. "Our symptoms began around the time the moon fell under an evil spell."
"That spell is?" Kakashi asked.
"Since ancient times, this island has absorbed the light from the moon causing it to glow just as the moon does." Moka explained. "Several years ago, the moon's color began to change, and an eerie, purple glow was cast upon the island."
Then, the moon came out from behind the clouds bathing the island in a purple glow which caused all the villagers to change into demonic forms.
"As you've witnessed, whenever the purple moon is out, everyone in the village takes on a demonic form." Moka stated as his people cried. "If this is not a curse, what could it be? We return to normal once the sun rises; however, some poor souls never can change back.
They lose their minds, and we must put them to death." He produced a picture of Bobo and cried over it. "No matter what we try, no other solution works. Once it takes hold, we can't save them. I should know for I killed my own son."
Upon seeing that picture, the Wizards were shocked.
"I think I now understand why he vanished on us." Gray stated. "Our captain was dead, but his soul can't rest in peace."
"Please, lift this curse." Moka bowed. "If this goes on, all my people may fall victim to it, and we'll die."
"I promise you that won't happen." Kakashi stated. "We will figure out some way to free your people."
"There's only one way this wretched curse can be lifted." Moka stated. "The moon must be wiped from the sky."
The group shared looks before Minato spoke up. "If we find another way to lift the curse, that'll still be a job completed, correct?"
"I doubt there is any other way, but the request is just to lift the curse." Moka nodded. "As long as it is lifted, we will be content."
Hut
Minato decided it would be best for their group to rest up for the night, and the chief had given them a hut they could operate out of for their mission. The guys eventually gathered around to discuss the mission.
"Even if we could destroy the moon, it's safe to say that's a no go." Gray stated. "I mean, these guys aren't too fond of what it's been doing, but a lot of people sure love it."
"I'm not certain what this is, but I am certain it can't be a curse." Minato voiced. "The moment the purple light hit the island we should have been afflicted like them. Something else on this island is causing this."
"I'm not a betting man, but that glow in the middle of the island seems promising." Kakashi stated. "It seemed roughly at the center of the island, so that's where we should go tomorrow."
All three of them nodded before turning in for the night.
Jungle: Moon Temple, Day…
The three wizards made their way towards the center of the island and found a temple depicting moon imagery. Given its relative location, as far as they could figure, this seemed like a good bet for the place they were looking for.
"This place seems pretty old." Gray commented.
"Yeah, watch your step everyone." Minato ordered.
"Judging by the glow we saw upon our arrival, whatever it was came from the top of the temple." Kakashi stated.
"While that is something we should check out, there was no glow coming from it when we woke up this morning." Minato stated. "Kakashi, take Gray and scope out the lower floors for anything suspicious. I'll see what I can dig up above."
Minato ran up some nearby stairs leaving Kakashi and Gray.
"Come on, I think I saw some stairs…" Gray had stepped in the wrong place as the ground cracked. "That's not good."
The ground around the two of them completely shattered plunging the two Wizards down.
Under the Temple
"That was unpleasant." Kakashi voiced. "Temple must be even older than we assumed."
"Sorry about that Kakashi." Gray stated. "You okay?"
"Nothing I can't live through." Kakashi stated as they stood. "Looks like we only have one path forward, and I'm betting a place like this has a way back up anyways."
When the pair entered the next room, they were shocked to see a demon the size of Lullaby encased in ice.
Gray seemed particularly affected. "T-This is impossible. It's Deliora." He walked towards it. "How? How is it here?" His shock quickly turned to rage. "What is it doing on Galuna Island!?"
"Gray." Kakashi gently put a hand on his shoulder. "Anger like this is never a good thing." Gray took a deep breath. "Now, can you fill me in?"
"This is Deliora." Gray explained. "The demon of destruction, but it shouldn't be here. It doesn't make any sense."
Kakashi suddenly heard footsteps approaching, so he grabbed Gray before hiding them behind some rocks. When Gray tried to question him, he held up a finger and held a hand to his ear. Gray could now hear the footsteps approaching as well, so he nodded.
Two figures emerged from a different cave. The first was a short, slim young man with brushy eyebrows that could give Lee and Guy a run for their money. He had spiked up blue hair and wore a green trench coat.
The second was a lean-built, mildly muscular young man of average height with distinctive animal features. He has shoulder-length, straight brown hair. He was bare chested with a pair of extremely loose pants with mildly torn hems.
"I hate being awake during the day." Blue hair looked to his comrade. "So, we're you exposed to the moon drip Toby? You do have those pointy ears."
This made Toby angry. "I already told you they're a fashion statement Yuka!"
"Lighten up." Yuka stated. "I was merely teasing."
"Moon drip?" Kakashi thought. "I may have read something about that, but I'm not sure."
Then, another figure entered the temple. She has blue eyes, pink hair in pig tails, and make-up to match her appearance. Her attire consisted of a choker tied into a ribbon, a short purple and pink spaghetti dress with light pink trimmings, black leggings, and high-heeled sandals.
"Yuka and Toby, there is trouble." The woman stated.
"What is it Sherry?" Yuka asked.
"Fairy Tail Wizards were spotted entering the forest, but the others quickly lost sight of them." Sherry stated. "The Flame Emperor wants us to see if we can find them before the moon's first light."
"That would be a wise course of action." Yuka stated.
"If they've seen Deliora, we cannot allow them to live." Sherry stated. "We'll give them the gift of eternal rest. We shall give them love."
Kakashi picked up a stone and chucked it down the tunnel they came from. This instantly drew the three away, and only once they were gone, did Gray and Kakashi come out of hiding.
"The Flame Emperor?" Kakashi questioned to himself.
"Deliora." Gray looked at the frozen demon. "I still don't understand what anyone would want with him. He's supposed to be sealed within a glacier on the northern continent."
"You seem to know about this demon Gray." Kakashi looked at him. "You heard us talk about Lullaby. Is this really more dangerous than that?"
"This one doesn't kill people with a song, but the pure destruction he wrought…" Gray took a deep breath. "One decade ago, this demon ravaged Isvan and many lost their lives. The woman who taught me to use my magic, my master Ur, sacrificed everything to seal it away.
I don't know if it has anything to do with what's going on around here, but I do know it doesn't belong here." Gray's ice was starting to run wild. "This Flame Emperor. We must find out who they are. If they tarnish my master's legacy, they'll regret the day they were born!"
"Gray, Minato may be here, but back when he died, I had no idea." Kakashi stated. "For the longest time, I was angry and sad. I wished it could have been me rather than the world losing a better man." He looked to the demon.
"Looking at this, I can assume Ur died sealing this demon." He closed his eyes. "That's exactly how Minato Sensei died in my world. He sealed the Nine Tails away because he was one of the few that could." He looked to Gray. "I understand where you're coming from."
"Minato never said anything about this." Gray looked down.
"Well, those three likely are going to spend all day looking for us, so I can't track them to the Flame Emperor." Kakashi stated. "That means we have until tonight to wait them out. Want to tell me more about this Ur. She sounds like an amazing person."
"She was." Gray sat down and leaned his forehead on his hands. "Ur…"
Flashback: Isvan 10 Years Ago…
Three figures were walking through the destroyed city of Isvan. Ur was a woman of average height with a slim figure. Her irises were black, and she kept her dark purple hair at chin length. She wore a tan jacket, a maroon tube top exposing her midriff, and black jeans.
Obito had black eyes and spiky, black hair. He wore a black, Uchiha style outfit with a blue collar and trim without the crest on the back. He also wore matching boots and a pair of goggles with orange lenses around his neck. His face wasn't scared.
Lyon was slim boy with bluish silver hair, which jutted upwards on top of his head, and black eyes. He wore dark jeans, a blue jacket, and an identical pair of goggles, like Obito's, around his neck. They had come to the destroyed city and were shocked by what they saw.
They fanned out and Ur noticed a younger Gray moving under some rubble. "Obito! Lyon! Come over here quick! We got a survivor!"
They gathered around with Lyon kneeling beside him. "Hey, are you alright?"
"Hold on kid." Obito set about removing the rubble. "We'll have you out in no time."
"They saved and helped me bury as many people as we could find. For those we couldn't, we still made them graves. Isvan was my home, and despite being young, I knew mostly everyone who lived there."
Sunset
Gray put some flowers on a grave before kneeling. "Deliora, you will pay for this." Tears were streaming down his face. "I'll stop you. I swear it."
"That vow is how it all began."
Snowy Landscape: Day…
The group, with Gray now added, had returned to their village. It wasn't long after Gray joined that the four of them came out to their training area. Gray seemed to be having trouble keeping up through the cold.
"Are you going to be able to keep up Gray?" Ur questioned. "I warned you that training with us would be tough."
Gray was panting, but he looked up at them with a determined expression. "I'll do whatever it takes. I will become stronger than Deliora. I will beat him."
"Yeah right." Lyon commented to himself.
Obito heard him and put a hand on the kid's shoulder. "Don't knock his dream Lyon." The child looked up at Obito who was smiling. "You'd be amazed what some people can achieve in this world or my previous one."
"If you want to beat him, we should get started." Ur stated.
"Ready when you are." Gray declared only to be shocked when she stripped down to her bra and panties. "Whoa, what are you doing?"
"The first step is to strip." Ur explained.
"What?" Gray questioned. "You're crazy if you think I'll strip in the snow!" He looked to Obito and Lyon. "Back me up guys."
"Sorry Gray, but it's how my wife learned." Obito smirked at her. "You wouldn't believe how effective it is compared to others who've tried to learn Ice-Make Magic. Ur's beauty is only rivaled by her strength in my eyes."
"All this time, and you're still the same charmer I fell in love with." Ur stated with a smile.
"I try." Obito started running. "Let's move Lyon. Today we're stepping your training up."
"Right behind you Master Obito!" Lyon declared.
"Let's go Gray!" Ur declared.
Both sets of master and student ran off in their own directions. Training consisted of both parties running in the snow, Obito and Lyon staying in a super-heated sauna while Ur and Gray sat in an ice filled hot tub, and practicing the correct stance.
"Do you boys know why Ur and I study Maker Magic?" Obito questioned.
The boys shared a look before Ur spoke up. "It's because we believe Maker Magic gives you the most freedom in combat." At times, they'd train together with Lyon showing off one handed Maker-Magic only for Obito to punch him into the ground and show the correct stance.
"In fact, every wizard who practices Maker-Magic has their own, unique style." They ate together. "If you train hard…" There were even times they ran together. "…then you'll one day make a style all your own."
Ur and Obito watch their students sleep with proud smiles.
Snow Cap Village: Later…
Lyon and Gray sat back as Obito and Ur did the routine shopping.
"Who's the dark-haired boy. Did you pick up another student Obito?"
"No, Lyon's enough of a handful in the student department." Obito stated. "My gorgeous wife, on the other hand, was free to take him under her wing."
"Yeah, his name is Gray." Ur stated. "He's a real rebel who doesn't like to do what he's told."
"I bet when those two grow up, they'll be quite the lookers."
"You think so?" Ur asked.
"Yeah. In fact, would one of you mind saving one for me?"
"If you want one of them, feel free to take them." Ur stated.
"Come on, you don't mean that." Obito smiled. "Honestly, having Gray around really makes our little place much livelier."
"Whatever you say Obito." Ur put the money on the counter while Obito picked up the bag. "Anyways, see you same time next week."
Lyon looked at Gray. "So, how long do you think it will take us to become stronger than them?"
"How the heck should I know." Gray replied simply.
"They're the best Wizards around." Lyon looked to the sky. "My dream is to one day surpass them both."
"You really never stop running your mouth, huh?" Gray sighed. "Do you really think I care?"
Lyon really was trying to honor Obito's words by being nicer to Gray, but he always made everything difficult. "Why are you always so grumpy?"
"It's because you go on and on about those two." Gray replied. "It really bugs me."
"Hm." Lyon looked at them. "You know, they told me they decided to bring you in because they see a darkness within you."
"They're probably right." Gray stated. "Especially after everything I've been through."
"They really want to help you get rid of it." Lyon offered.
"I'll do it on my own." Gray clenched his fist. "Right now, all I care about is learning enough to stop Deliora. Once I do, I'm out of here. Bye Bye Ice Wolf!"
Ur delivered a punch to the top of his head. "Keep talking that way and see what happens."
Streets
The group walked on together.
"When will you start teaching us some powerful magic?" Gray asked.
"Obito and I already have." Ur stated.
"I'm not talking about this Maker crap." Gray retorted. "Far as I see, that junk is useless."
Obito and Ur looked back at him and saw the darkness in his eyes.
"If we aren't careful, Gray may end up going down the dark path I once did." Obito thought. "I can't let that happen. Not to another child."
"Gray, we've told you that Maker Magic gives you the most freedom." Ur stated. "Once you've developed your style, you can truly make it as powerful as you wish."
Gray lost his clothes. "So, you both keep reiterating."
"Gray, we're in public!" Ur/Obito shouted. "Put your clothes back on!"
Gray screamed. "Well, it's all your fault Ur!"
Ur punched him. "Don't put your weird habit on me."
The villagers always enjoyed it when this group came around.
Outside the Village
The group were now well on their way home.
"That was embarrassing." Ur declared.
Lyon was smiling. "Don't forget hilarious."
"Shut-Up brown noser." Gray retorted.
"You shut up streaker." Lyon retorted.
They passed by a carriage of people who were speaking about Deliora. Seems as though the demon moved onto the northern continent. This certainly caught Gray's interest as he dropped the groceries.
"Gray, what's wrong?" Obito asked concerned. "Are you okay?"
"I now know where he is." Gray commented.
This resulted in Gray leaving the house with Obito and Ur trying everything to make him see reason. Unfortunately, he just didn't. Even as he was walking out the door and Ur denounced him as her student, Gray couldn't be deterred.
Northern Continent: Days Later…
Ur, Obito, and Lyon, despite all that was said, ended up coming to aid Gray. The fight was brutal with the kids unable to keep up and being dispatched easily leaving Obito and Ur as the only ones still standing. The city was destroyed while the people had evacuated.
"Ice Make: Rose Garden!" Ur shouted.
A massive wave of ice roses washed over Deliora as he prepared to fire on them. His entire body was encased, but the demon's head remained free allowing him to fire
Obito's magic was running low, so his eyes flickered from the Sharingan to normal. "Fire Make: Dragon!"
A massive dragon made of fire met the blast head on creating an explosion which pushed Ur and Obito back.
"Nothing we do is working." Obito growled.
Ur was panting. "Not to mention, we're running low on magic."
Gray came to and looked at the demon clearly terrified.
Ur came over and hugged him. "It's okay." Obito joined them. "Everything will be fine."
"Ur, you're here." Gray was shocked that they'd all come for him. "Why."
Eventually, Ur and Obito stood with the Ice-Make Wizard looking to her husband. "Gray, grab Lyon. Obito take Gray and Lyon away from here."
Obito was shocked as he noticed the look in her eyes while Gray did as he was told. "Why did you come after me?" Ur had been walking away, but she stopped. "I thought I wasn't your student anymore."
"Sometime, people say things they don't mean." She looked back at them with tears in her eyes. "Spending each day with all of you… watching you and Lyon grow into fine men… There wasn't more I could have wanted."
"Ur, you can't do this." Obito had tears in his eyes now as he approached his wife. "I can't lose you. I-I don't want to become the man I was. Please…"
Ur kissed him silencing the Fire Make Wizard before putting a hand on his cheek. "Obito, you'll never be who you were in the Elemental Nations. If there was even a chance you could become him again, I'd have never fallen in love with you.
I know you loved Rin, but you came to love me as well. You have a big heart, and you will find love again. Never forget that I loved you just as much as you loved me. We both know I'm the only one here who can stop him."
"Ur…" Obito hugged her. "I love you."
"I love you to Obito." Ur hugged him back. "Thank you… for everything."
They parted and Ur walked on; however, Gray hadn't said his peace. "Ur, I'm not leaving you!"
"Gray." Ur looked at him. "I vowed to myself that I would remove your darkness, and that is what I intend to do now."
"Wait." Lyon had heard everything. "Ur, I… I can't be hearing this. He looked from her to Obito. "You and he will defeat Deliora, right? The way you're talking makes it sounds like you won't make it."
"Lyon, no matter how strong I was, or how strong Ur and I are now, there are stronger people out there." Obito stated.
"No, this is impossible." Lyon couldn't accept this. "If there are people stronger than you, then what have I been doing all this time?"
"One day, you'll surpass your master and I." Ur stated. "When that happens, I hope you'll move onto a loftier goal."
"I studied with him… you… both of you because I thought you were the best around." Lyon stated. "If this monster has you both beat, it proves I was wrong." He looked at them both. "Please, don't betray me!"
"Lyon…" Obito stated in a begging tone.
Lyon suddenly ran past Ur. "If you two won't give it your all, then I will!"
He stopped, opened his stance, and crossed his arms.
"That stance." Obito was shocked. "Lyon, where did you learn that?"
"I took it upon myself to seek more knowledge." Lyon declared as a large, ice blue magic circle appeared beneath him. "Since you refused to teach me powerful magic, I went to the storehouse and read not only all your books, but Ur's as well! This spell from Ur's collection, Ice Shell, was hidden from Gray and I because you were scared, right?"
"Lyon, you should have read the spell all the way through." Obito rushed forward and delivered a powerful punch to his student's head knocking him out before catching him. "I'm sorry, but I won't lose you to… even if you end up resenting me."
"W-What's the big deal?" Gray asked shocked.
"When that spell is used, the caster's body becomes the ice shell." Ur walked past Obito. "Lyon is right. That spell is our only hope." She continued walking as her magic flared up around her. "Obito, it may have been reckless, but is a sign you taught him well.
Now, stay back you two." Ur got into the same position, and this time a magic circle appeared above Deliora and all around him. "You will never hurt my students or husband ever again! This is the end of the line! Absolute Freeze! Ice Shell!"
She uncrossed her arms and Deliora was assaulted by ice from all sides.
"Ur, no!" Gray shouted as she began cracking. "Please, don't do it!" He tried to run towards her, but Obito caught him. "Let me go!"
"This is a sacrifice I must make." Ur stated. "My body will become the ice which seals Deliora. Both of you, promise me that you'll tell Lyon I died. I don't want him spending his life trying to free me. All three of you must go onto live or my sacrifice will have been meaningless."
"Stop!" Gray shouted. "Please, don't do this!"
Both were crying.
She looked back at them. "I know it may be hard, but please don't cry." She vanished. "I may no longer be with you, but I will hold this monster back. Please, be strong and make me proud."
"It'll be okay." Obito brought Gray into a hug. "Those we lost live on within us."
"With Ur's sacrifice, I felt the anger and sadness within me vanish. From then on, I swore to be strong for her. I would become the best Wizard I could to make her proud; however, Lyon was different."
A new day had risen with Obito and Gray not really moving since Ur left them.
"What happened?" Lyon came to confused before standing as he noticed the frozen demon. "That's Deliora." He turned to the other guys. "How did it happen? Did Ur cast the spell when I fainted? Where is she now?"
"She… she died." Obito took in shaky breathes. "Right, Gray?"
"Yeah, she's gone." Gray agreed.
"No. No!" He charged at Obito and grabbed him by the shirt. "Why weren't you strong enough!? Why weren't you stronger than her? Because of you and Gray, I have no hope of surpassing you both now!"
"I'm sorry I failed you as a teacher Lyon." Obito stated sullenly.
"That's not good enough." Lyon declared. "My dream is dead now because I know the truth!" He immediately turned on Gray and tackled him to the ground. "This is all your fault. If you hadn't challenged Deliora, none of this would have happened." He stood and turned away from them both. "You two are at fault for this. She's dead because of you."
"After that day, Lyon went who knows where, I ended up in Fairy Tail, and Obito took to the world. Even though he lost his wife. Obito never held it against me, and I still receive the occasional letter from him. Though, I haven't seen him since then."
