Phantom Lord: Jupiter Power Room
Minato, Kakashi, Natsu, Gray, Erza, Mira, Kageyama, Romeo, Jet, and Lucy all ran to the beginning of the canon where they saw a shattered Lacrima. Multiple pieces were scattered everywhere for them to see. They all jumped into the room.
"Whoa, what is all this?" Natsu questioned.
"This must have been where they gathered the magic energy." Kage stated.
"That is correct until you Fairy Tail scum destroyed it." Totomaru declared before Gray rushed forward. "Well, you are quite eager to fall." Totomaru held out his hands. "Blue Fire."
Gray jumped over it and held his hands down. "Ice Make: Prison!" Totomaru was captured in a cage made of ice for the moment, so the Ice-Make Wizard turned to the other. "Each of us has an opponent, so get going. I've handled my fair share of flame brains."
"He's right." Minato declared. "Every moment we spend here is another moment Abyss Break gets to activating." He started running. "We're moving out and will split off to seek the rest outside of this room!"
The others followed as Totomaru held out his hands again. "Red Fire!"
The fire tore through the ice and moved on towards the group.
Gray had already jumped down and into position. "Ice Make: Shield!"
The shield of ice appeared taking the attack but melting as a result. By now, the group was already gone leaving Gray with Totomaru.
"I didn't think your ice would be able to match my fire." Totomaru stated.
"Well, think again." Gray declared. "I grew up with a rival and his mater who could use it, and I constantly fight a real hot head every day. With the last one not being here, I can admit that his fire packs more of a punch."
"Really?" Totomaru questioned. "Don't underestimate my fire for all of it, from magical to natural, is mine to command. Blue Fire!"
"Ice Make: Shield!" Gray declared.
To his shock, the blue fire passed through his shield before washing over Gray.
"Fire may be my domain, but I am not ignorant to my weakness." Totomaru declared as he drew his blade and approached. "For ice wizards, I developed Blue Fire which ignores ice all together." He stood over Gray. "Now, submit."
"I got a better idea pal." Gray declared. "Why don't I show you the difference between a plain old ice wizard and an Ice Make Wizard." He moved on his hands managing to knock Totomaru down before jumping to his feet. "Ice Make: Seven Slice Dance!"
Blades made of ice appeared on Gray's arms as he rushed forward rapidly slicing into fire mage until his ice broke and Totomaru was slammed into the ground on his head.
"S Class, huh?" Gray walked away from the unconscious mage planning on moving deeper inside. "If you're an indication of how strong the rest are, I almost feel sorry for your guildmates."
Gray wasn't sure what he'd find, but he hopped to find more Phantom Lord Wizard. That last fight hadn't satiated his anger at what they did to Fairy Tail.
With Kageyama
Kageyama was booking it through this long hallway hoping he could find more rooms to search as there certainly were none here. Still, he was determined to find one of the S Class Mages. Both to make them pay and hopefully get a good fight in.
"Fairy Tail took me in and kept me from going to jail. It's because of them I can explore my magic. They taught me what it means to be strong." Kage thought determined. "The least I can do is take out one of the intended targets."
Suddenly, he heard someone come up behind him and turned to see Sol of the Element Four.
"Salut." Sol greeted.
"What a coincidence." Kage faced off with him. "I was just thinking about running into one of you freaks. Hope you're ready for this because I don't want to take you out to easy now."
"Oui monsieur but rest assured that it is not I who will fall here." Sol declared. "Ze destruction of your guild is all but guaranteed. Roche Concerto!"
A barrage of rocks came the shadow mage's way. "Knuckle Shadow!" An equal number of shadows shot out obliterating the coming rocks. "That the best you got?"
"Non. Non. Non." Sol declared. "Monsieur, I know everything about your father. Pray tell, what would ze Shisui Uchiha have to z'ay about the man you are, hmm? Let's ask him!"
Sol created a stone statue of Shisui making Kage growl. He had good idea what mind games his opponent was playing, and it wasn't hard to imagine that this place somehow aided the earth mage in getting inside his head.
"Kageyama, why did you join a Dark Guild?" Shisui shook his head. "That's not what I wanted for you." He sighed. "I am so disappointed even if you ended up in a legal guild."
Sol continued to push and prod the dark mage while tauntingly telling Kage that he had stepped on him upon entering this room. That was how the earth mage got inside his head. The thing about Dark Guilds is that they weren't dark for nothing.
"You're right." Kage stated. "My father would be disappointed in me. To bad he vanished years ago." He looked up at Sol as his eyes became the Sharingan with one tomoe in each. "You're an idiot if you think a genuine Dark Mage would fall for parlor mind tricks like this."
"You have seen worse?" Sol questioned shocked. "Would ze Fairy Tail let in such a man!?"
"Shadow Pull!" Sol was surrounded by shadows which brought him straight to Kage who then grabbed the guy by the throat. "Guess you were to focused on my father to get that, huh? He glared at the guy. "Let me tell you, no one uses him the way you did.
Now, consider yourself lucky I'm not a Dark Mage anymore, but that doesn't mean I won't beat this lesson into your head. "Shadow Destruction: Knight Mode!" The shadows formed into a pitch-black armor around himself. "You're finished!"
Kage pulled the green-haired bastard out of the ground and began smashing him into the floor repeatedly. The shadow user only sopped when he got tired of that and settled for punching the earth user in the face. Sol was begging for mercy at that point.
Frankly, Kage was still pissed about the guy using his father's image, but the rational part of his mind said that to much more would lead to the guy's death. Kage just wasn't a killer anymore. He settled for violently throwing Sol into a stone column and calling it even.
Kage returned to normal before sticking his hands in his pockets and walking further in. "I took him out, but it looks like the guy should have done his research rather than work his way into other's minds."
With Natsu
"Jose or Gajeel." Natsu grinned. "I do have Gajeel's scent, but if I can find Jose, beating him should put an end to this. If Happy were here, he could fly me, but I guess that's the trade off we had to make for bringing so many in. Either way, I can handle either of them or even both."
Eventually, Natsu came to the decision that he might as well head straight to Jose, and he figured the guy was somewhere higher than this. The Dragon Slayer stopped and looked at the nearest window above before smirking.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu declared.
The window was completely busted out allowing Natsu to jump outside. When Natsu landed on the roof, he smelt someone unfamiliar. In addition, the skies were now gloomy, and rain had started to fall.
"Weird." Natsu commented. "When did it start raining?"
"Drip, drip, drop." The voice which spoke seemed to belong to that person Natsu smelt, so he turned to see Juvia approaching. "Hello. My name is Juvia, and I am the rain woman of the Element Four. Drip, drip, drop."
Sure, this may not have been either of the people he'd been hoping to fight, but at least he managed to come across someone.
"So, you're one of Phantom Lord's S Rank Wizards." Natsu grinned and punched his left palm. "Alright, bring it on!"
"I must say, I'm impressed by the fact that your guild has fought as well as it has. Even now, two of ours have fallen, and one of yours nears Master Jose. That said, we are not to be underestimated." Juvia said warningly.
"That's what I like to hear." Natsu punched his palm. "I'm all fired up!" They stared each other down before he lept at her. "Fire Dragon's…"
Juvia raised her arm. "Water Lock!" Natsu cried out as he was entrapped in a sphere of water, and the fire in his hand went out. "This must be Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail's Dragon Slayer. Gajeel wanted to fight him, but it appears that won't happen."
"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" Natsu managed to gurgle.
Flames engulfed Natsu's arms, and he spun in a circle breaking the sphere into puddles and steam. Juvia's eyes widened at the action as she had not expecting that.
Natsu's fist caught fire again. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
The punch went clean through the water mage's side. Natsu was shocked as Juvia had been hit, but her body had turned into water nullifying any damage.
"My body is made entirely of water." Juvia explained. "Surprised? Drip, drip, drop."
"If any attack I throw at her will just pass right through her, then how do I win?" Natsu thought. "I doubt even my Earth Dragon Slayer of Magma Dragon Slayer Magic will be much help. There's got to be something I can do."
"Water Slicer!" Juvia yelled.
Slices of water launched at Natsu who managed to dodge them. Those slices continued onto a column demolishing it.
"When given the proper amount of force, water is strong enough to rip through steel." Juvia explained. "Underestimate its powers, and you'll find yourself in a world of pain."
Natsu growled before charging. "Fire Dragon Sword Horn!"
Just like before, he went straight through the water mage. "Can't you see that you're just wasting your time? Though I admire your determination, your attacks have no effect on my body. Drip, drip, drop.
"This lady's tough!" Natsu growled. "Maybe I could use a roar, but who knows if that'll work."
"No matter what you do, you cannot beat me." Juvia continued, "Though, there is one way you and your guild may be spared. All we ask is that you hand over Lucy Heartfilia. Do that, and I will ask our master to call off this attack on Fairy Tail."
"Oh, what a load of crap!" Natsu exclaimed surprising the water mage. "This battle is too far gone. Besides, there's no way I'd give Lucy up like that."
Juvia narrowed her eyes at Natsu. "He seems to care a great deal about Miss Heartfilia. Lovers, perhaps? That would explain..." Suddenly, her heart throbbed at the 'lovers' thought. "Wait, why is my heart beating?"
She didn't have time to elaborate as she saw Natsu taking advantage of her just standing there. Juvia dropped her umbrella and stuck out both hands blasting him with water. Why was she so caught up with these thoughts? Natsu could certainly feel that the water was boiling hot.
Still, he was a Fire Dragon Slayer, so it's not like it burned. "Fire Dragon's…"
Just as quickly, Juvia shot out another burst of scalding water. Natsu had to bend back to avoid it. He then jumped to the right and dodged another shot of water only to slip on a puddle. This nearly sent him sliding off the ledge, but he managed to catch himself.
"Ever since the day I was born, I have been followed by the rain." Juvia stated, "It gives me strength. It makes me invincible." She got into a stance, "Now, prepare to be scalded!"
Natsu dodged blast after blast while trying to find an opening, "Geez, there's gotta be some way to defeat this chick!"
"Like I told you, I am at my most powerful in the rain." Juvia replied, "You'll never be able to defeat me!"
That's when Natsu got an idea as he charged the water mage. "Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!"
Natsu collided with her next burst of water creating a giant steam cloud.
Juvia's eyes widened at the sight before walking forward and looking around. "He used the steam as a smokescreen." She was impressed. "He's not just handsome but…" She stopped herself while blushing furiously. "Wait, what did I just say?"
Natsu rushed out of the steam. "Fire Dragon's Flaming Elbow!"
Not thinking clearly, Juvia jumped back narrowly avoiding the attack. His impact with the ground created a dust cloud, but Natsu leaped at her while reaching out his hand. Unfortunately, he grabbed a place that Erza would have hit him for if she saw him doing it.
Natsu immediately let go while blushing in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry!"
It took a few seconds for Juvia to process all of this. Her face was as bright red as Natsu's fire. Though he had grabbed an undesirable place, her mind was only thinking that he had intended to catch her and finish her off.
"Even though we are enemies, he released me." Juvia thought before gushing. "He's such a nice guy!" She shook her head, trying to stop the thoughts. "No! Stop it! But... could I be... But him? My enemy?"
"Can we just continue the fight." Natsu stated while panicking.
Part of him still expected Erza to suddenly appear and knock him out. When there was no response, Natsu blinked and waved his hand in front of her face trying to get her attention. Juvia was as still as a stone and staring into nothingness.
Juvia was lost in her own little world. Mainly containing fantasies about her and the fire mage in front of her, about how 'opposites attract' with him being fire and her being water, and the mere thought of Lucy made her mind scream 'LOVE RIVAL'.
"What do I do now?" Natsu questioned. "Do I just leave here out here in this gloomy rain or take her with me?"
Her fantasies came crashing down as the word 'gloomy' sent her mind reeling. Unwanted flashbacks entered her mind and she twitched. Then, she let it all out in a bone rattling scream and blasted the Dragon Slayer with all her might.
"I thought he was different!" Juvia thought angry beyond belief. "Turns out, he's just like the rest!" Caught off guard, Natsu barely had time to raise his arms in defense."I'm through with love, and I'm through with you!"
Natsu was blown back by the force of the water while the now increasing heat was surprisingly getting to him. "I've lived my life as a gloomy rain woman!" Juvia ranted, "But Phantom Lord looked past that! They welcomed me with open arms! I am a proud Phantom Lord wizard!"
The attack ceased for a moment, allowing Natsu to regain his footing. Juvia's body then became entirely water-like before she charged him with rage in her eyes.
"How can you be proud of that!?" Natsu's arms were light by fire. "You're going down! Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!"
Fire engulfed the area knocking Juvia out of the air, and she stared in shock as the raindrops around her became steam. "All of the rain evaporated?!" she was awestruck. "He's amazing."
Natsu took a deep breath. "Magma Dragon's Roar!"
Juvia screamed as the molten earth engulfed her, and when it vanished, she was starting to fall off Phantom Lord. "It's all over now. I'm going to fall to the ground and splatter like a raindrop. I suppose that is a fitting end for a rain woman no one wants Farewell, Gloomy Juvia."
Then, her hand was grabbed stopping her fall. Her eyes opened in utter shock as she saw Natsu leaning over the edge. He had been the one to grab her.
"Hold on!" Natsu ordered. "I won't let you fall!"
Natsu pulled her up and laid her safely on the roof.
"Why did you save me?" Juvia questioned.
"I couldn't let you fall and die, could I?" Natsu replied with his signature grin.
Juvia felt a few tears come to her eyes. "He saved my life."
Then, something bright shined in her eyes. She closed her eyes out of instinct before looking to see a bright blue sky and yellow circle.
"The rain." Juvia muttered. "It stopped?"
"Hey, the sun's out!" Natsu exclaimed.
"The blue sky." Juvia said in awe. "I've never seen it before."
"Seriously?!" Natsu asked surprised. "Well, you see it now at least."
"It's beautiful." Juvia mumbled.
"Well, I'm feeling pretty refreshed." Natsu turned to Juvia. "You up for a Round 2?"
Taking that line completely out of context, Juvia's heart lept out of her chest as she passed out causing the Dragon Slayer to panic. "Juvia! Wake up! Answer me!"
"Hey Flame Brain!" Gray shouted.
"Salamander!" Kageyama added.
Natsu stood and looked to see Gray and Kageyama approaching him. "Oh, hey guys!"
"I'm surprised you actually managed to take out one of the Element Four." Gray commented. "Though, what's up with that creepy grin?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Natsu questioned before sighing. "Also, I have no idea. She just sort of fainted that way."
"Considering I took down Sol, Gray got Totomaru, and you took out Juvia, that only leaves five targets left." Kageyama reasoned. "If anything, we should attempt to find the others and give them a hand to stop this war faster."
"I was hoping pinky here would have failed to stop his because mine wasn't much of a fight." Gray commented.
"Juvia was challenging at least, but we should probably get moving to find more." Natsu stated.
With Erza
Erza was nearing some stars when wind whipped up behind her threatening to send her crashing to the ground.
"How sad." She avoided it and the wind formed into Aria. "I will clip the wings of Titania and send the beloved queen of the fairies crashing into the ground."
Erza lunged forward and kicked him causing the wind mage to vanish before appearing behind her. "You're the one who harmed our master." She turned to face him angrily. "Our master suffered greatly at your hands, so I will avenge him."
"Well, I am faced with a worthy opponent, so I suppose this is a battle I shall take seriously." Aria declared before removing his blindfold. "Now Titania…" The wind whipped up around him. "…step into my Zero: Airspace of Death! It consumes the lives of all who dare to enter!"
"A spell that consumes life. Tell me, how can you do this!? How can you take lives so easily!?" She pointed her blade at Aria, who merely smirked back darkly at her. "You scoundrel!"
"Let's see how well you handle this, Titania!" Aria declared.
He unleashed a sparkly wind that Erza simply dashed through without being affected. When she got close enough, she swung her sword precisely cutting through the Zero airspace.
Aria was so shocked that he took a step back. "But how!? She's cutting through my airspace!"
Erza leaped high into the air and Requipped into her Heaven's Wheel Armor. She then slashed fiercely at Aria with the two blades in her hands unleashing a barrage of blades all at once.
"Blumenblatt!" Erza cried out as she flew past him.
Aria screamed in agony as he took every attack and crumpled to the ground in defeat.
Half-turning to her fallen foe, Erza coldly remarked, "Someone like you could never hold a candle to the strength of our Master. You'll only be remembered as a sobbing coward who fell by my hand!"
"That's… so sad!" Aria moanedt.
Outside
The Wizards who continued to fight the phantoms observed as Abyss Break shrank in on itself and vanished. The mages of Fairy Tail cheered; however, the guild remained standing considering there were still four mages left within to power it.
"Alright guys, this is a sign that our team on the inside is doing their job, so let's keep fighting ourselves!" Cana declared.
Despite the positive outcome, Loke had a bad feeling come to his stomach, so he looked to Cana. "Something's not sitting right with me. I have to get in there."
"You're gut usually isn't wrong, so get going." Cana declared. "I think we can handle out here."
Loke nodded before running up the now rapidly melting ice path. Fortunately, Gray was one of the best Maker Mages in Fairy Tail, or there may have been some problems with getting in.
With Mira
Mira walked into the bar area to find Minoru sitting at one of many tables nursing a drink. "So, the demon of Fairy Tail has regained her power and came looking for me." He sighed. "Ever since I felt it, I knew you'd come. It was just a matter of when."
The model was still angry with this guy because she had known only the Sand God of Phantom Lord could have done that to her brother. Her initial, blind fury had somewhat dissipated. At the very least, she wasn't going to jump straight into combat.
"Why did Phantom Lord start a war with Fairy Tail over a quest you were given?" Mira asked. "Even forgetting the harm you caused, the Magic Council will know you have a weapon like the Jupiter Canon and tried to use Abyss Break. Those are infractions which can't be overlooked."
"You're right." Minoru looked at her. "Above all that, sneak attacks are something I'm capable of, but I'm not one for them. There is no pride or honor in catching your opponent off guard. Ever since that council meeting six years ago, Phantom Lord lost its pride.
Our master became consumed by envy, and we've suffered for it. We'll continue to suffer for it." He looked at Mira firmly. "That said, I still bare the mark of this guild, and that means something." He finished his drink and stood. "It means, you are my opponent."
His words couldn't wave off her anger, but it did make her start to feel sorry for this man. She now realized that every Phantom Lord Wizard may not agree with their master, but they still had to heed their master's word.
Still, that anger was greater, so Mira used her Satan Soul before lunging at Minoru with her claws extended. She nailed him only for the guy to turn into black sand. Minoru had created a sand clone of himself.
"Sand God's Bellow!" Minoru declared.
A black breath attack of sand struck Mira in the back knocking her into the bar. The model stood up and yelled before charging the Sand God decking him in the face. The Sand God was sent sailing into a good couple of tables. He recovered only for Mira to come up behind him.
"Fall." Mira stated sternly.
"So, this is the power of a mage who takes over demons." Minoru thought shocked. "Even after two years of inactivity, she's a force to be reckoned with."
She held out a hand. "Darkness Stream!"
Minoru had already whirled around and held up his hands. "Sand God's Shield!"
A large circle of black sand appeared which a large stream of darkness plowed into sending Minoru skidding back, but at least he was protected. Mira then came up behind him and hammer fisted his head sending the Sand God tumbling forward until he ended up behind the bar.
Minoru noticed a gourd of sand he'd placed there and picked it up before standing. "You are strong, but Slayers do have the ability to go beyond their power as well." He crushed the gourd and sucked all the sand within himself. "God Force!"
Mira had lunged at him again, but black sand emerged from his body with enough force to repel her. It soon orbited around Minoru as his eyes became completely light brown and were glowing with magical energy. Minoru then charged in with his fist and Mira met it.
Neither budged an inch as the force of their strike produced shockwaves tearing up the room. Minoru's fist became cloaked in black sand while Mira's were cloaked in darkness. They sped about the room with Minoru landing a clean blow on Mira's face.
She returned the gesture with a knee to the chin before managing to put her hands on his chest. "Evil Explosion!"
A sphere came from her hands before exploding on contact with Minoru blowing him back, but his sand caught him before launching him at her.
"Sand God's Secret Art: World Method!" Minoru shouted.
The black sand around Minoru expanded exponentially around the room creating an expanding sphere of branching spikes with real force behind them as Mira was battered around the room.
Despite the pain, she extended her arms. "Satan Blasts!"
A swirling, disintegrating sphere shot forth into the sand around Mira getting rid of it.
"Her power is uncanny." Minoru thought. "The word of her power was not exaggerated." He yelled as the glow in his eyes intensified. "You are indeed strong, but while I may not agree with my guild, I'll still give this fight everything I have! Sand God's Tornado!"
A tornado of black sand whipped up sending Mira spiraling towards the ceiling. Minoru then jumped into the air and grabbed her by the shoulder.
He opened his mouth. "Sand God's Bellow!"
A breath attack, double the size of the one from before, slammed into Mira point blank pushing her through the ground below leaving a gaping hole.
Minoru landed and stared at the hole critically. "Was that…"
Mira came up looking injured as she cupped her hands and generated a sphere of darkness. "Soul Extinctor!"
"I won't fall here!" Minoru took in a deep breath. "Sand God's Bellow!"
The two attacks connected creating a powerful explosion of black sand and darkness which washed over the room destroying it as well as the floor beneath them. Both mages crashed into the hallway below, and their transformations dissipated.
While Minoru was unable to move, Mira was able to force herself to her feet and take slow, steady steps towards him. This fight had done a lot to ease the model's anger leaving her with sadness for this man.
Minoru was panting. "For what it's worth… coming from a man like me… I'm sorry. We should… have held onto… our pride."
Mira looked down at the man before sighing. "You were just following your master's orders." She walked past him. "I forgive you."
Minoru passed out.
With Kakashi
Kakashi had made his to the top of the guild figuring it would be easier to get to the control room rather than risking the many encounters he could have within the guild. Technically, he was much closer to Jose. The only problem was someone seemed to have thought of this.
"This is as far as you go." Gaara declared while standing before him. "For Master… no, for my guild… I cannot allow you to continue onto Master Jose."
"Is that so?" Kakashi questioned. "Well, for my guild, I must get by you."
The two Wizards looked at one another with Kakashi confirming now that this Gaara didn't know him. That meant appealing to who he knew Gaara could be wouldn't pan out.
He did decide to add a bit more to his previous words. "Phantom Lord didn't just destroy a guildhall. That place down there is a home for those who lost theirs or never had one to begin with. That hurt everyone, but not as bad as whoever hurt Elfman or Mest.
Our shared enemy is out there, yet you would wage war with your allies. Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord, who vie for the top, could have been the guilds which paved the path forward. I guess that's just not the path your leader wanted."
"You're right." Gaara admitted with a frown. "Dark guilds, demon, and everything else that brings people down could have been combatted better had our master not given into envy. Now, it's too late to dwell on what ifs.
Phantom Lord is my guild and Jose is my master. If both go down, then I shall go down with them." He gained a look of determination. "If I am to fall, I will have given everything for my guild first and for most. That is what being a guild wizard means to me."
Kakashi lunged forward. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
"Sand Devil's Displacement!" Gaara countered.
He held up his hand and sand appeared taking the hit before Gaara deflected Kakashi to the side. The Copy Mage swung back around with his foot now coated in water knocking Gaara back before lunging forward.
"Water Dragon's Bullet Kick!" Kakashi laid into Gaara with a barrage of water laced kicks. "Water Dragon's Crescent Kick!" He then back flipped landing a power strike to Gaara's chin knocking him into the air.
"Ice Make: Lance!" Multiple lances shot into the air hammering in hits against Gaara. "Now for something from your Laxus." Kakashi took a deep breath. "Lightning Dragon's Roar!" Gaara was hit by the roar ending him slamming into a nearby column.
Gaara's top had been blown off as he rose to his feet. "A true S Class won't be felled by something like that." Sand fell off his skin and onto the roof indicating that this Gaara had a spell which created similar protection to the original. "You'll have to try harder than that."
"I'll take your advice and double my efforts" Kakashi declared as he charged forward.
Dark brown markings appeared all over Gaara's body. He then took the gourd, chucked it to the edge of the roof, and charged to meet Kakashi head on.
"Sand Devil's Shuriken!" Gaara declared.
Multiple, dark brown shuriken fired off at Kakashi with the caster right behind them. "Water Dragon's Rainy Drive!"
Kakashi was cloaked in water as he ran through the shuriken straight for Gaara.
"Sand Devil's Clone!" A clone of Gaara appeared which Kakashi smashed through as the real one circled around Kakashi. "Sand Devil's Rage!"
The sand caused his Rainy Drive to dissipate, but at least it managed to tank most of the attack as Kakashi was pushed away. Once the attack ceased, he immediately turned on the sand user.
"He may not be S rank, but his power is reaching those upper limits." Gaara put a hand on his head. "I need to draw out more power while keeping control." The dark brown markings spread and increased in size. "Keep… in… check."
Kakashi took advantage of his stationary stance by holding up two arms and forming a large, lighting trident between them. "Lighting Dragon's Heavenward Halberd!"
He launched the huge trident right at Gaara nailing him. The Sand Devil Slayer screamed in pain as he was carried to the edge of the roof beside his gourd of sand. The guy just managed to grab the edge as lighting sparked around him.
"I'm… losing… consciousness." Gaara was trying to keep his eyes open. "No. I haven't… beaten him… yet. He'll… take… control…"
Gaara passed out which resulted in him losing his grip on the building. Kakashi was there to catch and haul the Sand Devil Slayer back up. The moment he did, Gaara opened his eyes revealing they were now black with yellow pupils. The sand user let lose a demonic roar.
He shot a sand breath attack, at point blank range, sending Kakashi tumbling along the roof. Gaara landed before looking at the gourd, moving over to it, and inhaling the whole thing. His skin became completely dark brown as he roared to the heavens.
"Devil Slayers are said to eventually develop a demon, but it looks like he hasn't subdued his in one way or another." Kakashi stood back up. "This fight just got that much more dangerous."
Gaara blitzed Kakashi with a murderous look in his eyes, and this was more reminiscent of the Gaara before he started emulating Naruto. He punched the Copy Mage in the chest knocking him back only to move into his path before kicking him into the air.
Gaara then jumped above him before slamming his fist down sending the former Jonin crashing into the roof below. The demon possessed mage landed before roaring at his downed opponent. When it seemed he wouldn't get up, Gaara began smelling for other humans.
Kakashi had been banking on this as he quietly got to all fours before cloaking himself in fire. "Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!" He slammed into the possessed wizard and sent them both hurtling to the water below while wrapping his arms around his adversary. "Red Carpet!"
The purple flames came from under Kakashi propelling him and Gaara towards the water below. The demon realized it was heading for the ocean, so it began thrashing to get free.
"I figured your weakness was the same as the Gaara I knew, so know that you are not getting free of my grasp! We're hitting that water together!" Kakashi shouted. "Water Dragon's Rainy Drive!"
The water formed around Kakashi causing the demon of sand to roar in pain. It also allowed the Copy Mage to increase the strength of his hold. They impacted with the water sinking well below the surface.
Gaara's eyes returned to normal, and he began thrashing for air. Kakashi withdrew his Rainy Drive and started drinking the water. Sure, drinking sea water was normally a bad move, but any slayer that could take in water could use it as a power source.
The only bad thing was how salty it tasted. Hey, Kakashi could eat food pills so he can take this. The Copy Mage, still holding the thrashing Gaara, swam towards the surface and rocketed out of the water displaying blue scales as he'd entered Water Dragon Force.
He kept ascending and just barely made it to the bottom rows of windows. He snatched the window seal before pulling himself up and smashing back into Phantom Lord before dropping his opponent.
"Thank you." Gaara stated before passing out.
The Copy Mage nodded before sprinting out of the room intending on seeing where his current power could be of use.
Natsu vs Juvia: Honestly, there are countless stories that go with Gruvia, so if you want to see that pairing, throw a dart at a printed list of fanfiction, and the chances are high that you'll find one with it. That's not me taking a jab at any of you. That's just facts, and it is a good pairing. That said, Natsu x Juvia did interest me especially after JAKEkenstein brought it to my attention and I found other stories with this paring.
Also something else he pointed out to me was a possible Ship name for these two. Natsu x Juvia (Jutsu) which I think is the perfect shipping name for a story taking any Naruto character, putting them in the Fairy Tail World, and have Natsu and Juvia get together. Again, Gruvia is a perfectly valid ship, as well as canon, and one I'm choosing to avoid for how many fanfictions, and canon, there are about it.
Afan: Yeah, I kind of figured it was a joke, but it did genuinely help me come up with that idea about Guy. I honestly wouldn't have put to much stock into him almost dying without your review. Honestly, I should have because by all accounts, Guy should have died upon using the Eight Gates. I get it, we all love Guy, but all they got him doing is being in a wheel chair.
While he can still kick ass, that's no ending for a man like him. At the very least, they could have given him some form of love in these past few years. I get it, love is not the end all be all, but neither him nor Kakashi had anyone by the time Boruto started. Kakashi might have had something in those canon books of Kishimoto's, but nothing came of it. Now these two great characters don't show up nearly enough either.
JAKEkenstein: I was actually thinking of something else, but maybe.
