Story Start!

"So... those two are a couple now?"

"Yep."

"Good for them." Tanya stated as she sat down across from Naruto, while wearing her new shiny badge, a proud smirk on her face. She had gotten a promotion from Ivy, so that she was no longer a waitress. Megumin and Kazuma had officially started to date, now that Aqua and Darkness were pretty much full time whores at the store they worked for, and Naruto had found a loophole in the contract.

Megumin was still a slave, but now Kazuma was her owner, and he surprisingly didn't use her for sex... though he really couldn't since he was her temporary owner. Naruto had found a loophole that allowed him to pay off Megumin's debt to him by having her do work for other people instead of him.

Basically, Megumin was paying back her debt by being loaned out to others.

"Ainz has been a success as well." Tanya brought up the conversation with Naruto.

"You just want to talk about your promotion... go ahead." Naruto waved his hand to her.

"Yes, the road to success through hard work now, does mean I should enjoy an easier life in the future... but bragging about it? I'm not without class." Tanya humble bragged about her promotion. As it would turn out, there were a LOT of customers that were interested in her way of speaking to them. That allowed for her to be a pretty good payment collector, which just meant that she had been moved to a register worker if Naruto were to apply a different term to it. "I hear you no longer rent a room?" Tanya leaned forward with a glint in her eye.

Naruto nodded.

"Well, I live in the same room as Ivy now. We've been dating for 2 weeks now, and we already lived in the same Inn to begin with... though no longer paying rent is nice." Naruto commented, as if he ever had trouble paying rent. Ivy wanted him closer to her, and he didn't mind moving in at all. "We don't exactly share the same bed much though, she really likes sleeping in her pot." Naruto laughed a little.

Tanya gave a cute giggle.

'This is life... this is the easy life. Just chatting about life with a friend who has the same life experiences as me' Tanya had dreamed of such an easy life. To think that she would get this dream life in a new world, with so many strange species and different societal standards just gave her immense pleasure. "Suck it Being X." Tanya chuckled under her breath.

Naruto caught it though

'I'm going to have to break the news to Crim, that even the Angels don't know how to fix a broken halo.' Naruto had caught the angel that bumped heads with him, and when he questioned them, he ended up just learning nothing from it. "Mind getting me a refill?" Naruto asked Tanya as he gestured to his mug.

She raised an eyebrow.

"I'm off the clock for lunch."

"Damn, I hate this time of day. Meidri and you take the same lunch break, and Megumin only works here part-time now. Usually Crim is here to get me refills." Naruto complained as he put his head against the table.

Tanya grabbed his mug.

"Fine."

"Thank you." Naruto stated, and minutes later she returned with a full mug. She slid it across the table in front of him, and he grinned at her. She laughed to herself, before she grabbed the newspaper and opened it up.

"Seems that Subaru is still searching for his friends." Tanya noted when Subaru rushed out of the Inn as if he were in a hurry. He was grabbing his neck, which just made Naruto sigh to himself.

"He must have died again... I'm glad my chakra wasn't connected to him this time." Naruto didn't get Subaru's feelings and memories when he wasn't connecting his chakra to the boy, and Naruto would make sure to not connect his chakra to Subaru for awhile. Subaru was the only guy that Naruto didn't feel the need to really help that much when he was in danger.

Subaru's life meant nothing, because Subaru always survived his death with nobody ever actually knowing that he died. Since he couldn't talk about his deaths to other people, everyone just assumed he was an awesome adventurer who didn't fail much.

Subaru had died a few times.

"What was that?"

"I really admire the way he hasn't given up on finding his friends. I wish I could have been the same."

"Are you sure your friends didn't survive?" Tanya asked Naruto.

He laughed.

"Shikamaru, Sai, Sakura, Hinata, and Hanabi were blown up by an exploding moon. They were all strong, but I witnessed their deaths with my own eyes. I believe in never giving up, but even I realize that some things have nothing to do with hope." Naruto laughed at the notion of them surviving. "The shitty part is that they died in the other world, so they aren't part of this world's reincarnation system... and but I guess it is possible they reincarnated here... but at that point they aren't the same people I knew." Naruto sighed with a smile on his face.

Tanya gave a nod of agreement.

"That is why you haven't talked to the Jiraiya boy?" Tanya was informed of that, and Naruto smiled a genuine smile.

The Jiraiya that reincarnated into this world without his memories made Naruto happy, but at the same time his happiness was not so simple. Naruto was just happy that his mentor and godfather's soul was now in the place it belonged, and he was getting another chance at a happy life. Naruto felt a genuine appreciation for the fact that he could provide this Jiraiya with the motivation to better himself, just like Jiraiya had once provided for him.

"I'm satisfied just passing down the teachings he taught to me, and hoping he grows into a man like the one I knew. He suffered a lot in his past life, I feel he deserves a happy life, even if I'm not a big part of it." Naruto leaned on the table, with a goofy grin.

"That's quite selfless, most people wouldn't think like that."

"A Shinobi... Those who endure. I will always be a shinobi, so I have to endure the urges I have. The urge to be a big part of his life, and treat him like the man he once was. He isn't the Jiraiya that I knew... why aren't you searching for your friends by the way?" Naruto asked Tanya.

She scoffed.

"I want to abandon that life, same as Ainz. I just want a nice, easy life with little excitement. I got involved with the military not out of a sense of duty, but to impress the higher ups and get put into an easy position in the back. If my soldiers see me, I will need to act the part of the superior again." Tanya was more than happy to not act like the military commander she was when she didn't need to, though part of that was just how she acted. She had to pretend a lot, and fake a lot of her personality when she served in her nation's army. "Ainz is a little dumb, and he was forced to act like a perfect being all the time. That had to make him want to pull his hair out... that was a joke." Tanya deadpanned at Naruto.

"It wasn't that funny-"

"We're back!"

"They're back." Naruto looked and saw Stunk, Zel, Crim, and Kanchal were all back from their trip to the city.

"Naruto! Lets go bust a nut at a Mandrake-"

"Naruto isn't allowed to have sex with Mandrake women that aren't me." Ivy peeked her out out of the kitchen and stared down Stunk. He made a whipping noise, but Naruto wasn't too bothered by it.

"Really, I would be fine just having sex with Ivy only."

"I'm not woman enough to handle you by myself, so you go and have your fun, and I'll be waiting to finish you off when you get home!"

"Fuck dude, can I mention that I'm jealous of that?" Zel sat down next to Naruto and grinned. Naruto had himself a woman who would let him go and sleep with pretty much anyone he wanted, except women from her own species, on the condition that he come home and give her some cum too. Usually you needed to be dating a succubus to get such a sweet deal, because even a lot of succu-girls didn't want their boyfriends going out and fucking other girls when it wasn't work related.

"You can."

"I'm jealous of that." Zel played off of Naruto's response with a grin on his face. "You should have come with us man, that store was a perfect 10."

"Absolute 10, nothing but a 10."

"10... 10 all the way and then some." Stunk agreed with Zel and Kanchal just grinned as he stated what he did.

"Crim!"

Meidri was about to lecture the hell out of Crim.
