Hello all! Now, as you may or may not know, I have written stories set in the MGE world before, one of them quite long.
The thing is... for as much as I'd written, I realized how little attention to the fine details of specific entries from the Monster Girl Encyclopedia I paid.
So I went back and started reading, dwelling this time on specifics and... well... there's no nice way to say it.
The art is great, and they have amazing ideas. All being filtered through a frighteningly bad power fantasy that makes normal power fantasy smut seem well written.
The specific reasons for why I'm frightened to say, lest I attract the hatred of people claiming me to be an SJW-or far, far worse, lest it attract actual SJWs which I hate more than anything-but rest assured it was straight up toxic in some places.
So, seeing as the MGE is a wiki, and thus editable-I attempted some revision and editing to make it at the very least less offensive than a gender rolls pamphlet from fucking 1700s.
I may have overstepped a bit, I'll admit that. Because there was on entry in specific that genuinely turned my stomach with how tone deaf, poorly written, and offensive it was without seeming to even realize it.
In response, I completely rewrote it, both to make it less horrific and also so the entry would have something-anything at all-to do with the mythological creature for which it was named. The result was all my edits being undone and me being politely told to eat shit.
And that is entirely their right. However, if you'll humor me, I'd like to share with you my purposed changes to the MGE entries.
I do not claim to take credit at all for this world, and some lines will still be very similar if not the same as the original entry (whenever it was actually well written and thus not in need of edit). But I've added my own touch to every single entry, and I figure it'll be interesting if nothing else to see my take.
