Chapter 31: An Eventful Saturday
A/n: After disappearing for so long, I have finally returned. I'm sorry for leaving without saying anything. Also, I did not have a lot of time to write. So I'm sorry for this late update. The school year just ended for me so I will now have more time to write. Once again, I'm sorry for disappearing.

3rd Person Pov.
Nino squeezed the arm she was cuddling on even tighter. It was warm under the blanket and the getting even closer made her feel super cozy.
It was a nice and chill Saturday. There were no classes today and Fuutarou and the quints have the day off.
Fuutarou was sleeping in the couch and Nino was cuddling with him.
Nino yawned and stood up slowly to not wake up Fuu. She felt a little hungry so she walked over to the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal.
Her feet tapped on the cold floor and she walked as quietly as she could.
Nino walked over to her cupboard and pulled out a bowl. She then grabbed a box of her favorite cereal and poured a good amount in the bowl. Nino walked over to the fridge and grabbed the milk.
As she poured the milk, she heard Fuutarou's phone ring from across the room. Nino set down the milk and quickly walked over to his phone. She answered the call and put her ear next to the speaker.
"Hello?" Nino greeted.
"Ah hello... Miku?" The man on the line said.
"Oh! Mr. Uesugi! Hello, and it's uh Nino." Nino told Isanari.
"Oh, Nino! I'm sorry, it's tough telling you 5 apart just by your voice. I still have some trouble sometimes when I you 5." Isanari chuckled.
"You're fine Mr. Uesugi! It happens to everyone." Nino chuckled along with Isanari.
"So is there a reason for a call this early?" Nino asked.
"Yep, you guessed right. I have to go to work early this morning and no one is here to watch Raiha." Isanari said.
"So I'm here calling to ask if you guys can watch over her today." Isanari said.
"Sure! Drop her off, we have nothing else to do today." Nino exclaimed.
"Alrighty then, I'll be there in a few minutes." Isanari told Nino.
"See ya then." Isanari hung up the call.
Nino set down Fuutarou's phone back where she got it.
"Hah... there goes my day alone with Fuu-Kun." Nino sighed.
She walked back to her bowl of cereal and grabbed her spoon. Nino walked over to the couch, took a seat, and turned on the tv. Making sure that the volume wasn't too loud to wake up Fuu.
Nino sat there in that criss cross apple sauce position while munching on her cereal. She was watching an episode of an anime she was in the middle of.
Fuutarou yawned. "Ohaiyu."
"Ohaiyu Fuu-Kun!" Nino set her bowl down and jumped onto Fuu.
She gave him a big hug.
"Umph!" Fuutarou wheezed. He started tapping Nino's back to tap out. "Can't breathe, can't breathe!"
Nino noticed and pulled away from the hug. "Oh sorry!" She quickly waddled back to her chair.
Fuutarou chuckled. "You're fine."
"Oh! Raiha is coming here soon." Nino told Fuu.
"She is? That's great." Fuutarou said. "Let me guess, my pops said something about 'we have to watch over her.'"
"Exactly." Nino said.
Fuutarou yawned once again. "What are you watching?"
"An episode of that one anime with 5 sisters." Nino told Fuu.
"Ooh, I think I watched that one." Fuutarou said.
"Yea the main guy reminds me of you." Nino said.
"Really? Well that one short hair girl with ribbons reminds me of you exactly." Fuutarou said.
"Short hair? Ribbons? There's no short hair girl with ribbons. There's a short hair girl with a bow though." Nino said.
"Oh so you're still on season 1. My bad, spoilers." Fuutarou said.
"No you're ok. You didn't know where I was anyways." Nino calmed down.
Fuutarou laid back and watched the tv. Nino got up from her seat and plopped down right next to Fuu.
"Everyone else still sleeping?" Fuutarou asked.
"I think so." Nino answered.
Just as Nino finished her sentence, a knock was heard at their door.
"I'll go get it." Nino said, standing up.
Nino walked over to the door and looked through the pero hole. She saw a little girl with a blonde haired man standing behind her.
Nino unlocked the door and opened it for Raiha.
"Raiha!" Nino exclaimed.
"Nino!" Raiha went to hug Nino. She gave her a big hug around her waist.
"I'm happy to see you again!" Nino exclaimed.
"Me too!" Raiha said.
Raiha split from the hug bed looked past Nino.
"Where's Itsuki? Where's Fuutarou?" Raiha asked.
"Oh Fuu-Kun's just on the couch. I think Itsuki is still asleep." Nino told Raiha.
"Alrighty!" Raiha exclaimed as she walked into the dorm.
She took off her shoes and instantly walked over to the living room.
"Hiya big bro!" Raiha greeted Fuu.
"Hello Raiha." Fuutarou greeted back.
Raiha decided to go find Itsuki.
"Where's Itsuki at?" She asked.
"I'm pretty sure my room." Fuutarou said, pointing at his door.
"Alrighty." Raiha walked over to the door and opened it.
She stepped in and saw Itsuki and Yotsuba sleeping on the same bed.
"Itsuki!" Raiha quietly exclaimed.
Itsuki rolled over and yawned. She opened her eyes and was instantly greeted by a girl right in her face.
"Ohaiyu!" Raiha greeted.
Itsuki smiled at the sight of Raiha. "Ohaiyu Raiha! What are you doing here?" Itsuki asked in a sweet voice.
"Pops dropped me off, I get to stay here the whole day!" Raiha jumped up.
Meanwhile, Yotsuba woke up as well.
"Raiha! You're here!" Yotsuba jumped out of bed and hugged Raiha.
"Yotsuba!" Raiha greeted back.
"How are you?" Yotsuba asked.
"A little sleepy, but I'm good." Raiha responded.
"Oh alright." Yotsuba sat down on the bed. "I heard that you're here for the whole day?"
"Yep, I sure am!" Raiha said.
"Awesome! We get to have so much fun today!" Yotsuba exclaimed.
"Yea!" Raiha cheered.
Itsuki got of bed and gave a big stretch. She yawned and walked over to Fuutarou's closet to see if he had a hoodie for her. After looking at the jackets and sweatshirts on the rack, she found one that smelled a lot like Fuu.
"This will do." Itsuki said.
Yotsuba followed behind and did the same thing as well.
Raiha was sitting on the bed and was talking to Itsuki and Yotsuba about anything new.
"Alright, come on. I'm getting hungry and I haven't seen Fuuta this morning yet." Itsuki grabbed Raiha's hand and they walked out together. (She wasn't pulling her, don't worry.)
Itsuki, Yotsuba, and Raiha walked out of Fuutarou's room.
"Ohaiyu Fuu!" Yotsuba greeted. She instantly ran towards Fuu and gave him a loving hug. Itsuki followed and she joined Yots.
"Ohaiyu both of you." Fuutarou greeted back.
A few minutes later, Miku and Ichika came out of their rooms and greeted everyone. The two of them said their hello's to Raiha.
Fuutarou got up from the couch and hobbled over to the kitchen to get breakfast started. As he looked in the freezer to see what he could cook, his phone rang once again.
Nino grabbed Fuu's phone and answered it for him.
"Thanks Nino." Fuutarou thanked Nino. She nodded back as a sign that she was saying "No problem."
Nino put the speaker to her ear. "Moshi moshi."
"Nakano-San?" A girl's voice came from the phone.
This voice was oddly familiar. Kinda sounded like Mai.
"Mai? Is that you?" Nino asked.
"It sure is. Where's Sugi-San?" Mai asked.
"Oh he's just cooking some breakfast." Nino replied.
"Well tell him to stop! I've decided to invite Sugi-San, you, and your sisters to some breakfast." Mai told Nino.
"What?" Nino asked.
"You heard me. It's just some breakfast." Mai said.
'Oh this girl... Trying to get closer to Fuu-Kun.' Nino angrily thought.
"Alright then, where are we going?" Nino asked.
"That iHob nearby." Mai said.
"Ok, we'll meet you there. Give us 30 minutes or so." Nino ended the call without even saying goodbye.
"What was that about?" Fuutarou asked.
"Mai just invited us to some breakfast." Nino said, she has a little scowl on her face.
"You look mad. Did she say something?" Fuutarou asked.
"Well for one, I know what she's trying to do! She just wants to get closer to you so that she can rip you from all of us." Nino explained.
"Get closer?" Fuutarou asked.
"Oh my bad, I never filled you in on this." Nino said.
"A few days ago, Mai declared all of us as her love rivals." Nino said.
"For who?" Fuutarou asked.
"You, Dummy!" Nino bonked Fuutarou's head.
"I see. So she likes me?" Fuutarou asked.
"I guess so. But I mean, she's not going to win. You already have us." Nino said.
"Of course! I wouldn't leave you girls for anyone else." Fuutarou told Nino.
"Thanks, I love you." Nino cooed.
"Love you too." Fuutarou replied back.
"Ok you two lovebirds! Cut it out, let's get to wherever your friend invited us to already!" Raiha cut in.
"Alright alright, we'll start heading there now." Fuutarou chuckled. "Everyone good with that?"
Raiha and quints were ready so they left the dorm and started their short walk to the iHob.

Fuutarou opened the door for Raiha and the quints to walk in. As they entered, the sweet smell of maple and food filled the air. You could hear the spatula's and such clink clanking in the kitchen. The fizz and pop of the stove was also able to be heard.
"Hello, welcome to iHob, how may I help you?" The receptionist asked.
"Um, we have a friend who saved a table for us." Fuutarou said.
"Is there a name?" The receptionist asked.
"Tanaka? Tanaka Mai?" Fuutarou listed off some potential names.
"Let's see here." The receptionist mumbled, moving her finger on a book of some sort.
"Yup, I got a table for you, follow me." The lady motioned for the group to follow her.
Fuutarou, Raiha, and the quints did and they were eventually facing Mai. She was sitting there, looking at a menu.
"Oh hello, welcome welcome. Glad you could make it." Mai said. "And I see you've brought an extra person."
"Yep, that's my sister. Raiha, say hi to Mai." Fuutarou introduced Raiha.
"Hello Raiha, I'm Mai." Mai greeted Raiha.
"Hello! Nice to meet you." Raiha greeted back.
"Well I'll give you guys some time to look at what you want to order." Mai said.
"Alright." Fuutarou said.
After a few minutes of looking, everyone their order ready.
Fuutarou ordered first with the Raiha and the quints following behind. Mai was the last to order.
"So why'd you invite us today?" Fuutarou asked.
"Oh, nothing important. Just wanted to talk, that's all." Mai smiled at Fuu.
"I see." Fuutarou said.
After Mai announced herself as a love rival a few days ago, the quints have agreed to watch Mai closely whenever she's close to Fuu.
So, currently, all 5 pairs of eyes were closely watching Mai's actions. And those 5 pairs of eyes noticed that smile that Mai gave Fuu.
"So what should we talk about?" Fuutarou asked.
"Anything is good with me." Mai said.
'Yea anything about Fuu that is.' Nino thought to herself.
Mai noticed how the quints were intently staring at her. She quickly deduced how they were being defensive with Fuu. So, as the 6 girls sat at the table, they used their eyes to have a small little war.
"So what did you do this past weekend?" Mai asked. The quints eyes moved to Mai.
The quints eyes then shifted over toward Fuu. "Oh nothing really important (that was a lie) due to my leg and all." Fuutarou said.
"I see then." Mai said. "Are you doing anything this upcoming weekend?"
"I don't think so." Fuutarou answered.
"Great! You would like to go and watch a movie with me?" Mai asked.
The quints were not expecting her to make a move this quickly. Fuutarou wasn't ready either.
"Uhmm..." Fuutarou trailed off.
'I can't say no but I can't say yes either. What do I do???' Fuutarou thought to himself.
The quints were staring right at him, not shifting their gaze away. Mai was also looking at Fuu, waiting for a response.
Fuutarou quickly thought on his feet.
"Hold on, let me check my phone to make sure I'm free" Fuutarou said. He moved his fingers in a way where it looked like he was looking at a calendar.
"Hmm... I think I was supposed to help my dad over the weekend. Sorry Mai." Fuutarou said.
Mai sighed. She deflated a little bit. "I see, that's fine. We can go another day."
'Damn it, he didn't except... I'll have to corner him harder in the future.' Mai thought to herself.
"I hope you understand. I promised my dad that I'd help and he was really looking forward to it." Fuutarou said.
"Oh I understand." Mai looked annoyed.
Just as Mai finished sighing, everyone's food arrived. Raiha got her kids meal, and everyone else got their breakfast meal that they ordered.
"Itadakimasu!" Fuutarou, Raiha, Mai, and the quints all said thanks together.
They all started digging in and enjoying the food.

They all finished their food without leaving any leftovers. Fuutarou was completely stuffed and Itsuki wanted more. It was a nice breakfast.
"Alright then, I think I'm going to take off first." Mai said.
"Oh really? It was fun talking with you." Yotsuba said. She completely forgot about how Mai was trying to get closer to Fuu.
"Yea, I wish I could stay longer but I have some stuff I need to finish up." Mai told Yotsuba.
"Oh ok. I see then." Yotsuba said.
Mai stood up from the table. "I'll see you all soon right?"
"Sure! Just let us know whenever." Itsuki said.
"Alright, see ya later!" Mai started to walk towards Fuu.
She stood right next to him, leaned down, and gave him a little kiss on the cheek.
Fuutarou and the quints' eyes instantly lit up. Mai quickly giggled while walking away.
"See you in class Sugi-san!" Mai said, actually walking away this time. She had a slight blush on her face as she walked towards the door.
The whole table sat there in silence.
"What."
"The."
"Hell."
Fuutarou was still confused at what happened.
"Oh that girl!" Nino angrily said.
"We finally trusted her and then she does this!" Nino continued.
Nino's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and looked at the notification.
"This war isn't over. I will catch up to you girls and I will make Sugi-San mine!" Mai wrote in a text message.
Nino angrily squeezed her phone. She turned it around to show the rest of the quints.
"Look at this!" Nino said.
The quints all huddled together and looked at Nino's phone.
"That's it. We're not going easy on her." Itsuki said.

A/n: Oh shitttt. Mai is on the attack and she is not going to stop. Anyways, I should be updating on that weekly basis again. But, there might be some weeks where I don't update. I'll let you know now, it's probably because I have baseball. Hope you enjoyed this chapter, despite it being a little shorter and not as good as others.
