Ch. 66

(OC) Aurora Delacour

Dolores was one angry undersecretary because she had been dragged away by the angry centaurs for about forty-five minutes. The reason was her insults provoking the creature, but the crazy toad of a woman refused to acknowledge it and instead, she blamed her least favourite person, Harry 'the brat' Potter, for her entire misfortune. After the centaurs left the vile woman in the middle of the forbidden forest, Dolores got up and made a beeline for the castle with the intention of making sure Harry would get expelled for real. Upon making it back to the defence classroom, the door closed and locked itself heavily just as the door to the teacher's office opened to reveal some kind of rainbow clouds coming out. The toad of a woman waddled her way up the stairs and walked into the cloud. All of a sudden, a gust of wind blew Umbridge further into the cloud and a couple minutes later, she found herself tied up in magic-suppression rope, right next to Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson (both of whom were in the same predicament. Then more of the clouds cleared away to reveal some kind of dreamland in which the sky was pink instead of bright-blue. Walking up to the three despicable people were Harry Potter and a girl who looked a bit like Fleur (she still had the same chest-length platinum-blonde hair, but she had bright-green eyes instead of bright-blue). She and Harry had their arms crossed while glaring at the terrified Dolores, Draco and Pansy.

"So," the girl responded after a minute or so of silence. "Do you three care to explain why you treated Harry like utter shit?"

"And who are you?" Dolores demanded.

"I'm Aurora Delacour, or Aura for short," the girl introduced herself, in a rather agitated voice. "Cousin of Fleur and Gabrielle's, whose father is my father's brother. I'm a fourth year at Beauxbatons. Yes, I'm a quarter-veela like my cousins and my maman is a half-veela."

"How'd you meet the Potter brat?" Umbridge growled.

"It all started the weekend after the second task in the Triwizard tournament ended," Aura began explaining. "When Harry was invited into the Beauxbatons carriage so my aunt and uncle could thank Harry profusely for rescuing Gabby from the depths of the Black Lake. My parents and I were there because we wanted to personally thank Harry ourselves, and we realized that Fleur was telling the truth when she said that Harry rescuing Gabby was done because he was noble and wanted to see her back to safety. Harry and I couldn't keep our eyes off each other when we met."

"That's right," Harry began his part of the story. "I was even invited to spend the summer with the Delacours in France and we got to go sailiing, went to museums, go to the zoo in Paris, and even got to visit the Eiffel Tower. Aura and I gradually realized how much stronger our feelings for each other got. Aura and I were going to wait until after we graduated from Beauxbatons and Hogwarts due to living in different countries, until Madame Maxime offered to get me a private tutor to help me catch up to the sixth-year students. I accepted transferring to Beauxbatons, but opted to receiving enough tutoring so I can be in the same graduating class as Aura."

"And now," Aurs revealed in a joyful voice, to the utterly terrified Slytherins before her and Harry. "It's time for you three to get your just rewards for the way you've treated Harry."

"No, please!" Draco whined as his fear exacerbated. "We'll do anything to avoid what you plan to do."

"Please, Harry! Just one more chance!" Pansy cried as tears well up in her eyes, while Dolores was simply indifferent.

"It's too late!" Harry told Draco and Pansy in a cold voice. "You should've quit while you were still ahead."

"You also need to learn that actions have consequences." Aura told the Slytherins tied up, in an equally cold voice.

Dolores, Draco and Pansy found themselves untied, but Aura gestured for the three Slytherins to follow her and Harry. A couple minutes later they reached a gate that led to some kind of rainbow road. Upon opening the gate, Harry shoved Dolores down the rainbow road, but the toad quickly realized that it was a rainbow slide and she slid on it until she was at a starting line of some sort. It wasn't long before Draco and Pansy landed in spots next to Dolores (meaning that the toad was in the middle). To add insult to injury, Fleur was standing in the spot next to Draco while Gabby was in the spot next to Pansy. There was even a wider and longer rainbow slide, with Harry and Aura showing up and standing on either side of the starting line.

"You're going to play a game with Fleur and Gabby," Aura revealed to the Slytherins, much to their horror and the participating quarter-veela's delight. "It's called surf the rainbow. Your object is to navigate through the rainbow obstacle course and race each other to the finish line."

"If either of you can beat Fleur and Gabby," Harry told the arrogant Slytherins. "You're free to go. If they win, then the consequences will be more severe."

Some magical surfboards appeared under the feet of the participants, then a five second countdown started. Once it ended, the starting line turned from red to green to signal the go ahead. To the horror of the Slytherins, the boards that Fleur and Gabby were using gave them a temporary speed boost while the ones they had were the slower ones. Once Fleur and Gabby had enough of a head start, the boards the Slytherins were using sped up to where they were normal speed.

"You were always unfair to every non-Slytherin student," Harry reminded Dolores, Draco and Pansy as they tried their best to use their boards. "Now you know what it's like to get a taste of your own medicine."

The Slytherins continued surfing the rainbow obstacle course, trying their best to avoid getting hit by spike balls, dodge different kinds of projectiles, and even keep a unicorn with a rainbow-coloured horn at bay. The unicorn was friendly towards Fleur and Gabby since it neighed in support with an ecstatic expression, but when facing the arrogant Slytherins the unicorn gave them a mean look while neighing in a fierce manner as if to boo them. Dolores, Draco and Pansy had little luck in avoiding the mishaps on the obstacle course while Fleur and Gabby were dodging them expertly. It didn't take very long for Fleur and Gabby to outsurf the Slytherins to the point of leaving them in the dust. After a couple more minutes or so of bad surfing, the Slytherins' boards struck a boulder. The force of it caused them to flip up in the air repeatedly until they crossed the finish line (which happened to be a secret door to the Great Hall). Naturally Fleur and Gabby won, but Dolores, Draco and Pansy found wands pointed at them. Standing before them was Amelia Bones and the DMLE.

"Dolores, Mr. Malfoy, and Miss Parkinson," Amelia informed the arrogant Slytherins as they were being placed in magic-suppression handcuffs. "You're under arrest for the many crimes committed against Mr. Potter. You don't have to say anything as it may harm your defence in court. Anything you choose to say can be given in evidence."

Dolores, Draco and Pansy glared at Harry and the Delacour girls as they were pulled up onto their feet and led away to be taken into ministry custody. The girls engulfed Harry in hugs, with Gabby giving him multiple kisses all over his face (since she was still grateful that he rescued her in her time of need), resulting in Fleur and Aura laughing with excitement as they saw Harry blushing heavily.

"Shall we return to France and eat out at a restaurant in Paris as a way of celebrating the toad's permanent downfall, my wonderful Harry?" asked Aura with a smile.

"Yes, we shall, my sweet Aura!" Harry replied, returning the smile.

They also invited Fleur and Gabby along, since they did help in bringing Umbridge and her lead hench-students down, and resulting in their reign of terror coming to an end. Harry followed the Delacour girls out of the Great Hall and outside to Hogsmeade to floo over to Delacour Manor. With the toad gone for good, Harry was now free to put his life back on track. No more educational decrees, no more lifelong quidditch ban, no more blood-quill detentions, and no more Inquisitorial Squad to make other students' lives as miserable as possible. For once, luck was on Harry's side.

The End!
