Captain Lanfrix slowly limped onto the bridge. He looked terrified and exhausted.

"Captain, what happened out there?" asked Trecam.

"Th-They tore through my squads," he panted, "they're moving into the ship."

"Did our newest soldier intercept them?" asked Trecam.
"I-I don't know… I was too busy trying to make a run for it during the skirmish," panted Lanfrix.

Admiral Trecam groaned and facepalmed.

"This is preposterous! That inquisitor is willing to sacrifice imperial lives just to have one shot at her rival!? Something must be done," he growled.

"I agree," said Lanfrix, "but what? It's not like we can demote her or send her to lock-up."

"Maybe not," said Trecam, "but I know someone who can punish her personally."

Trecam walked over to the holoterminal.

"Take Captain Lanfrix to medical so he can be treated and get me connected to Lord Vader," he ordered.

Daralec slammed a stormtrooper into the wall with Force Grip, while Kayla kicked two the ground with a jump split kick, then she deflected five shots from another stormtrooper her threw her lightsaber, taking the man's hand off, followed by his head when she pulled it back.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," said Daralec.

"Hey! Don't you know it's rude to look into a girl's thoughts?" she asked, blushing.

Daralec chuckled.

"I didn't have to," he said as he put his hands up, "I could sense your excitement the whole time. You really hate stormtroopers, don't you?"

"Of course, I do," said Kayla, "do you know how long I've been waiting to kill these guys? That's why I was giving them a chance to hand Vaukel over to me. I was sparing them from me."

"And them?" Daralec asked as he looked over Kayla's shoulder.

Kayla turned and saw some familiar faces. It was Jet… And his purge troopers. Kayla frowned.

"…Kayla," he said.

"…Jet," she said.

"…This doesn't have to end in a fight," he said.

"Actually, considering that you decided to roll with Claieva, it does," said Kayla.

Kayla and Daralec ignited their lightsabers. Jet groaned.

"Dammit, open fire!" he ordered.

The purge troopers with rifles had begun to rain blaster bolts on Kayla and Daralec, providing cover for Jet and the remaining purge troopers armed with electrostaffs and batons.

"Take care of the purge troopers with the batons," said Kayla.

"What about Jet?" Daralec asked as he deflected three shots.

"He's mine," said Kayla.

Kayla deflected four more shots and charged at Jet, swinging, and entering a bind with his electrostaff; already, Kayla and Jet had begun taking swings at each other. Jet twirled his electrostaff around himself as he advanced on Kayla, then he went for a sweep attack and followed it up with a thrust. Kayla evaded the sweep, via backflip and performed a crossblock to counter the thrust, then she shoved the electrostaff back and spun around, slamming both lightsabers down on Jet's electrostaff before they started swinging at each other again.

Daralec buckled down and tanked up as the four electrobaton-wielding purge troopers circled and engaged him from all sides.

"I hate it when they gang up on you," he thought.

The two purge troopers that were armed with blaster rifles, tried to get a good line on Kayla and Daralec, but their targets were moving too fast, and their comrades were in the way.

When one of the purge troopers jumped at Daralec with both of their electrobatons in the air, the Revanite blocked, performed a flourish, and ducked low as another purge trooper swung and deflected his lightsaber from behind.

Daralec rose to his feet and kicked the purge trooper in the face to knock him down, then performed a spinning jump, cutting a purge trooper to his right across the chest and slicing the one in front of him across the chest, killing them both. The last of the four purge troopers, flourished his electrobatons and came at Daralec, unleashing a flurry of swings to put the Revanite on his backfoot. Daralec began to step back, performing a flourishing block to counter the hits, then parried a twin strike and countered with a one-eighty swing to the purge trooper's left, right and followed it up with and overhead chop. The purge trooper blocked and grunted as Daralec pushed his blade down on him.

"I've got a good line on him!" barked another purge trooper.

Daralec broke the bind with the purge trooper, turned and blocked five shots from the other two purge trooper's blaster rifles. The purge trooper with the electrobatons went for a thrust, Daralec deflected a shot and sent it flying at his opponent, causing him to freeze in shock.

Meanwhile, Kayla saw that Daralec was having a bit of trouble with the shooters.

"Daralec!" she called out.

Kayla parried an overhead swing from Jet with a cross block, then she tried to send him sliding back with Force Push.

"…Specialized combat boots to keep us in place, did you forge-"

But Jet was cut off he saw Kayla hurl her offhand lightsaber at the right purge trooper and took his head off before he could catch what was coming. Kayla pulled her lightsaber back into her hand.

"I didn't forget, I just needed to give myself a little breathing room so I could help take the pressure off Daralec," she said as she looked back at Jet.

Jet scoffed and came at Kayla again, jumping and swinging in a downward angle. Kayla slid to the left, turned, and went for his chest; Jet blocked her attack from the front, blocked her attack aimed at the back and spun around before attempting to go for a thrust. Kayla jumped back and deactivated her lightsabers as she planted her hands on the wall, then she launched herself.

"Daralec, duck!" she called out.

Daralec turned and ducked, the purge trooper took the full force of her landing to the chest and went down hard. Jet turned around and came at her, jumping and going for a thrust with his electrostaff.

"Oh no, you don't!" Daralec barked as he countered with a Force Push.

Jet went flying and slammed into the wall. The rifle purge trooper, seeing an open window, took a shot at Daralec. Kayla ignited her lightsabers and deflected the shot, then she hurled her offhand lightsaber at purge trooper. The purge trooper rolled to the right, Kayla jumped at him and delivered an overhead chop. The purge trooper raised his rifle in a panic, but Kayla's lightsaber cut through the rifle and split open the trooper's head, killing him.

"Nice," said Daralec.

Kayla turned as she pulled her offhand lightsaber back into her hand and saw the purge trooper she knocked down, get back up.

"Behind you!" she called out.

Daralec gasped and blocked an attack from behind, then he elbowed the purge trooper in the face and tripped him up with a leg sweep. Kayla clipped her offhand lightsaber to her belt and caught a thrust from Jet's electrostaff. Jet pulled her towards him and found her knee in his gut, causing him to double over and take to kicks to the face, getting knocked back in the process.

Daralec blocked four swings from his opponent's electrobatons and backflipped out of the way of a cross swing, then he jumped forward and punched the man in the face, knocking him into the wall. As the purge trooper tried to get his bearings, Daralec jumped forward and drove his lightsaber through his chest, killing him.

Kayla and Jet got in a weapon lock for a brief moment, then Kayla jerked to the left and swung to the right with all of her might, knocking off his helmet and revealing his face. Jet was a young man, roughly the same age as Kayla, possibly a few years older, he had short brown hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo on the right side of his face. Kayla held her main hand lightsaber at his throat.

"…It didn't have to be this way kiddo," said Jet.

"…I know," she said.

Kayla impaled him through the chest. Jet groaned and dropped his electrostaff.

"…I just want you to know… You were my only favorite," she said in a somber tone.

"Ehe… At least… I can die happy then," he said slowly.

Kayla deactivated her lightsabers and grabbed Jet as he fell into her arms, then she slowly set him down against the wall.

"…Goodbye, Jet," she whispered.

Kayla gave him a kiss on the cheek and closed his eyes, then rose to her feet, took a deep breath, and exhaled.

"Were you close?" asked Daralec.

"…Let's go," said Kayla.

The duo took off.

As Kayla and Daralec continued making their way to Vaukel's location, Orthus and Lavok were busy throwing down with the imperial soldier.

"You're not half-bad, I didn't think our own people would train a special group of troopers that can take down a Jedi without having to rely on any of those electro-arms," Orthus said as he traded blows with the imperial trooper.

When Orthus went for a right hook, the trooper grabbed his wrist and moved under his arm as he twisted it and prepared to break it. Lavok came charging in and tackled the trooper to the ground, quickly climbing on top of him and delivering three quick jabs to his face before being knocked off with a knee to his back and a punch to the chest. The trooper jumped to his feet, Lavok did the same and the two of them resumed trading blows.

Lavok and the trooper threw a punch at each other and ended up locking their arms together, the Mandalorian warrior headbutt the trooper three times, breaking the lock and proceeded to follow it up with a palm strike to the trooper's chin and a heel kick to his chest, knocking him to the ground.

"Are you alright?" asked Lavok.

"Yeah, thanks," said Orthus.

The trooper jumped to his feet and cracked his knuckles. Lavok and Orthus got in a ready stance and engaged the trooper again. Lavok threw a right cross, which trooper parried and shoved the Mandalorian in the back, sending him forward a few extra steps. The trooper turned and was met with a kick to the face from Orthus, followed by a kick to his chest. Orthus threw three jabs, but the trooper parried the first two, grabbed Orthus's fist when he threw the third jab and headbutt him before shoving him back a few steps.

Lavok discombobulated the trooper from behind, then he turned him around and threw five punches to his face, then he delivered a heel kick to his chest, sending him stumbling back into Orthus, who drove his knee into his back, bringing their opponent down to his own knees. Orthus grabbed the trooper from behind and put him in a headlock, then…

CRACK!

The trooper went limp. Orthus threw him to the ground.

"He was good," said Lavok, "but he was no Mandalorian."

"That's for sure," said Orthus, "come on, let's go regroup with the others."

Lavok nodded and the two Mandalorians took off into the ship.

Meanwhile, Kayla and Daralec managed to arrive at the detention center.

"Hey! You're not authorized!" barked an imperial officer.

"Save it," said Kayla.

With a big Force Push, the imperial officer went flying and slammed into the wall, then he fell to the ground, motionless. The stormtroopers started blasting, Daralec and Kayla ignited their lightsabers and deflected the first volley of bolts, then they jumped inside and cut the two closest stormtroopers down before sending the following shots at the remaining four troopers in the area. Kayla saw six stormtroopers coming down the hallway.

"I got this," she said.

She hurled both of her lightsabers down the hallway, taking off the heads of the imperials before pulling her lightsabers back into her hands, deactivating them and clipping them to her belt.

"Alright, I'm going to get him out," said Kayla, "think you can find Orthus and Lavok and regroup with them by yourself?"

"A Revanite apprentice against squads of imperial flunkies? Please," Daralec said with a wink.

Daralec took the elevator out of the detention center, leaving Kayla to race to Vaukel's cell and bust it open after she knocked out the controls. Kayla walked inside of Vaukel's cell and froze, seeing him bare-ass naked and sticky with sweat.

"Oh my…" she thought, blushing.

Fortunately for her, he was unconscious. Kayla ignited her lightsaber for a second and cut Vaukel free, letting his arms drop down to his sides.

"Vaukel… Vaukel… Vaukel…" she said, nudging him, "Vaukel, wake up-"

But she was cut off as she felt an invisible force around her throat.

"The drugs wore off in my body, bitch," he growled.

Kayla was lifted off the ground, clawing at her throat as she choked and gagged.

"V-V-Vau… Vauk…" she gasped.

Vaukel slowly looked up, revealing a pair of glowing yellow eyes.

"You'll pay for making me your toy," he growled, "and you can die, just like the fifth inquisitor I killed."

"V-V-Vaukel! I-It's me! It's Ka-Ka-Ka-Kayla!" she choked out.

Vaukel's eyes lost their yellow color as he gasped and released her. Kayla dropped on the floor, coughing violently as she struggled to get her bearings.

"By the Force, Kayla," he said.

When Kayla stopped coughing, Vaukel hugged her. Kayla froze and blushed for a second, but then she slowly hugged him back.

"…I thought that inquisitor hunted you down and arrested you… Or worse," he said.

Kayla couldn't hold it in anymore and… She wept. She wept in Vaukel's arms.

"…I'm here brother," she sobbed.

Vaukel gasped.

"…I'm here," she wept.

Vaukel felt tears roll down his cheeks, he allowed himself to smile and began to cry as well. This wasn't forced. This wasn't a slip-up. This wasn't an act. This was genuine. This was heartfelt. As if he had finally met someone, he had not seen in so many years.

"…Sister…" he thought.

"Of course, we will hold our position until you arrive," said Trecam.

The transmission was cut off.

"What is the status of the intruders?" he asked.

"It seems those Mandalorians have taken out our new trooper Admiral, and they appear to be trying to regroup with that Jedi," said an ensign.

"Send word to the guardsmen, tell them to intercept and keep the intruders busy for as long as they can until Lord Vader arrives," ordered Trecam.

"Yes sir," said an ensign.
