In the first light. In the first glimmer of chaos. One stood bleseed by the sight of the Slayer . Whose world had been burned by the monsters of the ethereal plain known only as Hell. Marking herself with the symbol of the Slayer, she brought down her bloodlust onto thr servants of the dark realm. And those that tasted the blast of her weaponry named her, The Slayer's Acolyte.
The sky was painted red. The effects of the invasion were said to still be strongly gripping the earth for months to come. Rains and many other weather events would likely also be affected. It was truly a sad sight. To anyone else. A it did for Elena was give her hope that the Slayer was still finishing off what remained of the Demons.
She had just arrived at this region to clear out the demons that remain. Even the main gore nests were destroyed some still remained bringing forth more of their numbers. She had destroyed 4 thus far and would destroy more until she was done. Until the Slayer would notice her. And give her the owner of fighting beside him.
Elena cleared her throat as she saw the demons gathering as they were moving their way towards a recently built settlement working on getting its people out from the safezones and back onto living on their world without fear.
The imps would turn as they screeched charging at her. She would grin madly under the helmet as she would rush at them dodging the balls of plasma they would send flying at her as she would leap into the air using her modified jump boots landing onto the shoulders of one of the imps tagging all the demons as she let bullets fly, the barrage from the rifle shot through their heads as they would drop to the ground.
But even more would emerge from the ground. But she didn't care. She would bring down the law of the Slayer down on them all. She would summon a frag grenade gluing it to the imp she was on as she would launch into the air changing to her plasma rifle and blasting at them as the bullet charged up with plasma energy tore through their twisted bodies rending flesh from bone. She didn't stop as she landed teleporting her guns away to converse her ammunition. She would rush at the imps and send out the spikes in her gauntlets as she impaled their skulls forcing them to the ground. She slashed through their faces cutting them through like butter. She would stand taking a moment to collect her thoughts before the roar of a demon took her attention.
It was a Pinky. She grinned even wider. She was mostly used to meeting Imps but this was better. She would launch herself at the demon as it would stampede toward her the sounds of its heavy footsteps crushing its fallen allies. They cared jot for themselves but managed to work together when the need ever arose. Poor fools she would think as she slid below the giant beast and cut through its belly splashing blood upon her visor as she got to her feet and stared at the creature fall dead. She would absorb their souls feeling the power whirl inside of her. She would swing her hands out to the sky.
"Another offering to you, My Doom Slayer!" She said sounding as ecstatic as if finding a precious gift to give a loved one.
She would grab the corpse of the Pinky and begin to cut through to prepare her dinner. Despite her earlier reservations tpwards eating the demons, their flesh was clean of all illnesses. Their bodies were so efficient that barely anything inedible seemed to lie within them. It made her lucky that she wouldn't need to trade for food across the black markets. She didn't need to be slowed down by the hesitations of normal mortals. Only the Slayer could bring forth orders for her.
She would rip out what she felt like eating ad she walked over to the large bulky hover bike she had managed to craft. Having been one of Hayden's Special Advisers, she was adept at nearly everything. Even had a good understanding of Vegaphysics. So much so, shehad made a lesser version of him to accompany her. Sadly, Unlike her, it was utterly awestruck by its Progenitor, the Original Vega. She pitied its lack of sense but it guessed to every being their own and focused on working to help her Slayer. The true Avenging Angel brought forth by the Seraphim to save all from ruin.
She would soon come upon her camp skidding to a stop on the ruined building. Moving through the rubble she arrived at the automated doors, opening as they scanned her. She would begin to ride down the incline and enter the entry point. Parking her bike, she sighed as she would pull off her helmet hearing the dripping of blood onto the floor. Her cleaner bots would do it.
"You were slow today. Please tell me you ate this morning." Altair said as they appeared as a hologram from one of the Cleaner bota moving around.
"I didn't have time, they said that they had sww the Slayer closeby." Elena said arriving in the main room as Altair's face would be staring at her with a look of disappointment. Their features were an exact copy of Vega's with only slight differences to set them apart. What she had beeing surprised to learn was that, Altair was advancing faster than even she had believed. At first, it seemed as if Singularity was before her but the AI was as said before a copy of Vega and bared his principles and keeping humanity as progressive and as safe as possible. It got quite troublesome if the two became locked in their fantasies for too long or they would lose their productivity.
"Anyway, tell me, did you find a way to replicate the designs of the BFG?" She would ask as Altair sighed before facing away from her.
"No, the power output and the weight is still vastly past your physical stature. You would need to increase youe soul consumption to 200% per day before you gain enough biological power to even lift, let alone fire that colossal thing. On to more important matters, the Warp Gates found close to the Hellgates or as you prefer to call them Gore Nests have gone under A.R.C slash Doom Slayer watch and are likely to be guarded for as long they are active which should be undefined amount of time that I'm still trying to pin down but for now, they will be open for as long as the fo-
"Okay okay, I get it. I'll be in the Gym. Please bring on the droids." Elena would say as Altair sighed before simply going back to her work. She would understand why Elena was so infatuated with the Slayer but didn't even begin to grasp while a scientist would rather have coitus with a nigh unstoppable killing machine instead of studying the advanced Vega. She had managed to steal video footage from the Slayer's suit before being kicked out by Samuel Hayden who must have believed her to be a simple bug. She had almost had herself deleted but it was worth it to attain the location of her Progenitor, the being known as Vega.
Elena entered the Gym as she would take off the Praetor Suit v2. The first of its kind and crafted from both the hellmetal and earthy minerals Altair was able to excavate it was still growing with passing day. Even though it did at times glitch when collecting demon souls or even aimply moving.
She stood in her gym shorts and top heading to a ring as a droid landed on the ground creating a holographic image across its body to resemble the most common of the hellspawn, Possessed. Though a bit more capable and bulkier than your average monster. Training, Hunting and Research were all she did. She had forgotten when she last slept. Her runes and coffee kept her feeling energised though she did suffer for it at times.
The Droid would let out a screech similar to that of a Possessed as she went forth to battle it. It would go for a rapid swinging of fists as she would duck and dodge before sweeping it off balance hearing it slam against the floor. It would get up and back away before she could land a blow as it charged again going for an uppercut as she would snake past its attack and slam her fist into its chest feeling the metal cave in as she watched the droid go flying. She grinned as she looked to her hands. Marred by the runes she had taken days if not weeks to finish and put on her arms. It would cause nightmares at times but she lavished in the horros that it was almost more fun, almost. Because only in her dreams would she meet the Slayer.
She sighed as she would watch the Droid be picked up by Cleaner bots and moved off. A full 11 months. It had taken that long to bring her to this point. She had managed to stay away from A.R.C for so long and her contacts there were tight lipped. A quality she saw as good for what she had done for them.
She would jump out of the ring as she got to her mat and switched on the monitor putting on the recordings of the Slayer as he was ripping through demons. She thanked Altair for managing to find these. She was steadily working on the exercise bike feeling her muscles rip and tear only to be mended up faster. Having an increased reaction to things sure did help. She learned things evem faster than most should. At the mental and physical strain was taxing but she didn't slack.
She heard the sound of flesh being torn from bone as the Slayer made his way through the hordes of hell during the days of the invasion. His bloodlust. His rage. His unyielding will to crush anything that stood in her way. That. That is what she wished to become.
She would continue to do a few more reps in the gear in the gym before finishing for the day. She sighed as she stretched passing the recording the moment the Slayer was staring at the camera for only a split second before turning. She marvelled at him.
She would grab a towel wiping off the the sweat as she tossed it off to one of thr Cleaner Bots.
"You're getting faster." Altair would say as she would look to her as she entered. " You also got yourself hit back there if you didn't notice." Altair said as she would display an image of the back of her chest armour. Unlike what it seemed her exposed body parts were layered with plasma shielding. You would need something akin to plasma cannon to even get through. She hadn't half-assed this.
"I know. It was during my way here, some imps came and surprised me. Glad to say, I gave it my road rage." Elena said as she would move to one of the panels where signs of demonic activity had been monitored.
"It seems America and most of Europe are still heavy hotspots for demons. You think we have another Hellbreaker on our hands?" Elena would ask Altair who would seem to be calculating.
"It would depend. That would mean a large gore nest is in that region. Not big enough to arouse the attention of the Slayer but enough to cause some trouble. With what little we know, it would be best to hold assumptions until later. We will need to go and investigate. Could we please bring the A.R.C? They have been trying to get you with them for months now." Altair said as Elena would shake her head.
"They will just slow me down. Unless the Doom Slayer tells me to work with them, you have zero chance of convincing me. Let's talk about something else, please." Elena said as she would hear Altair sigh in defeat.
"Fine, could you just at the very least let them track your movements to know when to send help?" Altair said as Elena would still refuse. She doubted this needed the A.R.C. For an organisation bent on helping they didn't seem to have done much in her opinion. Let them deal with her aftermath.
"I'm going to go work on the Omega Cannon." Elena would say as she would move out of the main room and enter the RD Area. Biggest one in the base and harboured the most of the machinery.
Her pride and joy, The Omega Cannon was lain across one of the tables. Built to resemble a large shoulder mounted green cannon, it was based on the Gauss Cannon but to be more lethal. Due to an inability to use the processed argent energy because most of UAC's research was stolen by Cultists, she resorted to having to use an untested core which would stabilise the argent energy released by a Cyberdemon when it fired its BFG. Built to last it its conquest, it was the last part she needed to make it. Firing a red coloured blast of fully processed argent energy she would be finally ready to able to kill anything. Sadly this weapon worked in areas with high demonic activity. So it was either hell or letting gore nests spread and that second option was a no go. Unless she wanted the Doom Slayer to slaughter her. Though the thought was attractive she had some extent of her sanity still with her.
She got to work, trying to make all of her gear better and more ready to rip her enemies asunder. She was basing most of her work on the blueprints from the Mars Facility and what little she could scavenge from the UAC facility she was working from before it got destroyed.
Plasma rifles, plasma pistol and even the infamous Ballista. Only a few of the trinkets she had been able to remake. She was waiting for the day she cpuld upgrade his arsenal even further. She had seen how outdated his gear was getting and wanted to make it even more fearsome so even the most powerful of his enemies stood no chance.
She dropped one of her tools and bent down to pick it up before receiving another blast of flashbacks from the lost souls she had absorbed. She saw the terrified faces of the person. They were begging for mercy as she watched them get ripped apart. She felt like ripping into their necks and tearing them apart until those humans were nothing but food in her stomach. She snapped out of it as she realised she had been salivating at the thought of it.
"Elena? Are you okay?" Altair asked as Elena would nod slipping on her helmet. She needed to focus.
"You need to slow down with your soul consumption or you'll go mad." She would say as Elena just shrugged it off. She returned to working on the Omega Cannon. She hoped no one would get injured by her flashbacks.
"Soul consumption itself is a very confusing process because the science of it is beyond me and yet they are so easy to do. How many souls have I absorbed?" Elena would ask as she placed in the argent plasma converter.
"The amount and quality and value of the soul varies with person to person and each may give put a greater boost than another. For number of mortally challenged beings it has now reached a total of 15'967." Altair would say as she would show Elena's statistics. Her heart rate was exceeding normal levels and likely would have exploded had she not been using the runes to stabilize her body.
"Yep, I should be dead. But thro-
"I swear if you say Doom Slayer, I'm going to switch off the fridge and let that demon buffet rot." Altair would say as Elena gave her a look of betrayal.
"I just got those last week, don't be a cold expressionless machine." Elena would say as she looked to Altair.
"I am a cold expressionless artificial intelligence." Altair said as she made herself as plain as possible.
"I saw you salivating at the prospect of finding the charred remains of the room that powered Vega. Don't act like you're a plain Jane. I made you remember?" Elena said with a smirk.
"I checked fhe video footage and you found a young version of Vega and remade the data to fit your specifications. Don't act like the smartest human on this earth when you aren't the smartest individual in this room." Altair said back at her.
"At least my love attraction isn't outside the known universe in a positioned in a sub-quantum level."
Altair just gave up after this.
"Go sleep. You need to rest before your body drops and dies."
Elena nodded as she would clap switching off the lights and heading to the bedroom. She would sit on the bed cleaning her armour and placing it on her dresser. It was filled with claw marks and was partially destroyed when she found it. The glass had to be replaced and most of the thing rebuilt with new materials.
She saw the scars she had gained. Many had been through all the attempts to get into Hell during her mad phase but she had improved. To some extent.
She sighed getting into bed and slipped into bed.
"Good night, Altair. Good night, Slayer.
