Hello everyone Senju Ootsutsuki here with my very first Naruto/Yugioh GX crossover. I had so much trouble writing the first chapter. But it was thanks to my betas and co writers and friends Viva and Xeno that the chapter was finished. I couldn't have done this without them.
Transylvania, the home of monsters spoken of in fairy tales; monsters used by parents as boogeymen for misbehaving children. Though once a place of supernatural horrors, it was now a tourist trap for those that came to witness the beauty and darkness behind its macabre legends and eerie stories told throughout the ages. But what those mortals didn't seem to realize was that those legends surrounding Transylvania were very much real, and one of the most foreboding places was the majestic castle on the very outskirts of the city.
This ancient Hungarian-style castle loomed over the city, beautiful in its haunting usage of granite and ivory in its stonework. Enchanting rose gardens covered the pathway from the front gate, the scarlet blooms entwined with skeletal white stone pathway illuminated the garden's dark beauty under the moonlit night, as if inviting observers to walk upon its path. At the center of the driveway, an almost Galatea-like fountain carved from white granite poured water from her bottomless amphora. Even with the alluring atmosphere, however, the air surrounding the place was stifling, like you could feel something breathing down your neck, the pressure of a creature you couldn't perceive.
Gazing down from the balcony of the upper floor of the castle stood a statuesque woman, pale as the fountain's maiden, enjoying the warm breeze of the night and the rays of the nearly-full moon. Despite her pallor, remnants of her stunning beauty yet remained, her long green hair reached her lower back.. Her lips were blood red as she gave a thin smile revealing her gleaming white fangs. Her eyes were as scarlet as her roses, and her gaze could pierce any man's soul. She wore a strapless, red satin dress that hugged her body and showed off her cleavage through the fabric. This was Camula Dracule, Mistress of the vampires, wife to Kimiko Uzumaki, and Queen of the Darkness.
A young prince glided down the hall with grace in each soundless step. Despite his age being just seventeen, he was a tall, dignified young man with golden hair as bright as the sun. His eyes, once bluer than the sea, were now as deep a red as blood, and his gaze could hypnotize both living and dead. He wore a white silk sleeveless gown which flowed around his legs. His head was adorned with a golden circlet with an eye of Wdjat in the middle, a gift from Camula.
His arms were adorned with golden bands encircling his upper arms and wrists, and a golden necklace that matched his circlet rested around his neck. This was Naruto Dracule-Uzumaki, Camula and Kimiko's adoptive son, their pride and joy. No would-be suitors other than his soul mate were allowed to even gaze upon him.
As he continued down the hall, the servants on either side of the hallway gave quick bows of respect as he passed them by. Eventually, he stopped at the end of the hallway before the large mahogany doors carved with bats that would lead to his mother's bedchambers. He easily pushed the heavy doors open and entered the bedroom, where he spotted his mother staring at the night sky through the sheer curtains billowing in the wind. Hearing his footsteps when no mortal could, Camula turned around to see her son approach her, Naruto barely reaching her shoulders in height. They stared at one another as Camula lifted her hand and brushed a little hair away from her son's face. Camula loved him as any good mother would, and he returned her adoration in kind.
"My little bat, have you finished your preparations for Duel Academy?" Camula asked.
"Yes mother, I have prepared everything for my schooling. I have also prepared my special deck that I shall be using in the entrance examination." He replied, holding up his deck holster, which was wrapped in a red, velvet cloth.
"And did you pack… Them?" Camula asked, her tone turning serious.
Naruto nodded as he took four cards from his deck and presented them to her. "Of course, mother. You know better than anyone that I would never duel without them."
"You know that those cards were special gifts from your godfathers."
"And I shall make them proud when I play them."
"And your other gift?"
A small gleam shone off of his necklace, as if the moon itself were focused on its surface. Camula smiled and took this as confirmation.
"Remember, my son. You are to represent the imperial vampire family at Duel Academy. I expect you to excel in your studies, make the right kind of friends, and most of all, put your former family in their place."
Naruto nodded his head in acknowledgement before an incessant beeping interrupted them. Camula walked over to her nightstand and picked up the remote laying there. She turned on the television screen to reveal Seto Kaiba in all his egotistical glory.
"Ah!" Camula grinned, "Mr. Kaiba, what a surprise. We expected you later."
"Skip the formalities, Camula." Seto interrupted Camula "I've called to inform you that my men are waiting to escort Naruto to the Kaiba Dome. As you know, every precaution has been taken to ensure your prince is escorted safely."
"Much obliged, Mr. Kaiba. I wouldn't expect anything less from my future in-law." Camula teasingly praised him before her expression lost all semblance of playfulness. "Is there any new information on them yet?"
"Not yet. According to our intel, they haven't made a move just yet."
"Mother, what is Seto talking about?" Naruto asked, coming in from the balcony.
Camula turned her head towards him. "It's nothing that you should concern yourself with, my little bat." She assured Naruto.
Naruto could tell she was lying, and that confused him. What could possibly be so dangerous that Camula didn't want him to know about it? He supposed it made some sense; Camula, after all, always kept to herself when it came to certain matters regarding the supernatural. Naruto, personally, didn't quite take stock in supernatural phenomena, but he could never quite rule out any possibility - his mother's vampirism and his own magical talent were always good deterrents for that.
"Speaking of concerning matters…" Kaiba quickly changed the subject with impressive ease. "Naruto. I will be expecting you to arrive soon. Camula has told me that you've become quite proficient in dark magic, and I will expect your arrival through your Shadow Portal spell."
Naruto broke out in a light chuckle. He took Kaiba for a realistic man, who similarly didn't believe in magic and other supernatural "nonsense". Seto's eyebrow twitched at the young prince's laughter.
"Have I missed some kind of joke, Naruto?"
"It is just that…" Naruto gathered himself, though humor was still evident in his voice, "I thought that you did not believe in magic."
"Oh, haha," Kaiba replied sarcastically. "You're just a comedian."
"And you are still a hot-headed Adonis with a god complex." Naruto returned.
"Remind me again why Mokuba agreed to marry you?" Kaiba sighed, palm meeting his face.
"One, because he loves me; two, it will increase your popularity among overseas markets; and three, Mokuba thinks I have a greater body than Min, Hershef, and Sobek combined." Naruto smirked as he counted off each reason.
"You're lucky Mokuba thinks you're cute, you deceptive minx." Seto sighed, leaning back into his chair.
"That is right," Naruto remembered, "I also wish to express my gratitude for the gift you gave me."
"You better take good of them," Seto warned him with a stern expression, "You should take care to remember that those are the only other copies in existence."
"Do not get your blue-eyes white panties in a knot!" Naruto grinned, "You forget that I am the greatest duelist in all of Transylvania."
"Now who's got a complex!" Naruto heard Mokuba's teasing voice before he saw his fiance appear next to Seto. "I swear, you and my brother are more alike than I first thought."
"We are nothing alike!" Seto and Naruto denied in unison. They both seemed to realize how in sync they were in that moment, to Mokuba's amusement.
"So my hyper-competitive, egotistical, highly-intelligent, business-minded, and high-ranked duelist boyfriend isn't similar to Seto?" Mokuba grinned, "In any way?"
"Please, Mokuba," Seto scoffed, "The only thing we have in common is our connections to power."
"Except I do not push mine around." Naruto responded, teasingly wagging his finger at Seto.
"You know, you're beginning to bug me."
"What can I say? It is my favorite hobby, and so, so easy to do." Naruto teased, making Mokuba snicker. "Well I shall see you in a few minutes, Seto, and you as well, my little flower of Nefertem." He said this last phrase to Mokuba, which made the boy blush, before turning off the television.
Turning towards his mother, he kissed the back of her hand in a show of respect. Camula gave her sincerest wishes. Naruto returned her wishes with a nod as he willed a Shadow Portal into existence behind him. Giving his mother a sweeping bow as a good-bye, he walked through the portal, stepping out of the world of shadows and into the light of academia.
Domino City: Kaiba Corp.
Seto slammed his fists down on the desk as he tiredly reclined into his seat. His face was such a deep shade of purple that someone would think he had blown a blood vessel. "Out of all the people my little brother could have fallen for, it just had to be a vampire prince." Seto thought, annoyance rolling off of him in waves, "That annoying, pompous prince always knows what makes me tick. He's almost as annoying as Wheeler."
Mokuba sighed heavily as Seto brooded. As always, his big brother had let Naruto get under his skin again. Naruto probably thought Seto would just take the teasing as playful fun, but instead, as he always was after Naruto's teasing, Seto was a ticking time bomb .
"You know, Seto," Mokuba tried to calm Seto down, "You're letting him get under your skin again."
"What did you expect, Mokuba?" Seto vented. He sighed roughly. "Can't you at least try to control him? He is your boyfriend after all."
Mokuba began to laugh. "Really, Seto?" Mokuba asked. "You expect me to control the Prince of the Vampires? Look, I'll admit that Naruto is a loose cannon, but that's just something that I love about him."
What other virtues Mokuba found in Naruto were left unsaid as his portal swirled into being, Naruto stepping through it with silent ease. Mokuba's face flushed a little as he gazed upon his boyfriend's physique. Without sparing a thought, Mokuba jumped into Naruto's arms, wrapping his arms around Naruto's neck as Naruto held him in a bridal carry. Naruto chuckled as he held his lotus close to him.
"Well, now," Naruto grinned impishly, "It looks like someone is excited to see me."
Seto, who was well aware of the surefire affectionate display, cleared his throat, "If you're going to make out with my brother, at least do it somewhere I don't have to see, hear, or think about it."
Naruto whispered into Mokuba's ear. "Do not worry, my lotus. We shall have our fun after we enter Duel Academy. You are attending, are you not?"
"Of course, you knucklehead," Mokuba grinned, "Although Seto is expecting us both to be Obelisk Blue. But, you know, I wouldn't mind being in Ra Yellow."
"Imagine Seto's reaction if you were a Slifer Red." Naruto said, knowing full well that he was provoking Seto.
"No member of the Kaiba family will be a Slifer Red." Seto shouted.
"But Yugi had Slifer and he beat you." Naruto returned, "So by making Slifers the lowest of the dorms, you are really just calling yourself lower than low."
Seto grit his teeth as Naruto laughed and threw a peace sign, putting Mokuba back on the floor. Officially, Naruto is a far greater annoyance than Wheeler ever was. Seto thought angrily.
"Naruto..." Mokuba sighed. "Do you always have to antagonize Seto like that? Teasing him's fine, but that was..."
"But of course," Naruto purred, "How else am I going to make his day more fun?"
Seto muttered insults under his breath as he picked up the phone from his desk. "Roman, the prince is here." He reported, "Make sure that you have enough men with you to ensure he is well-protected at all costs. The last thing I need is a vengeful mother bat ripping my head off."
"Yes, Mr. Kaiba. At once." Roman replied. The line went dead.
"Your ride has been prepared, and is waiting for you downstairs." Seto told Naruto shortly. Turning to Mokuba, he said, "And as for you, Mokuba. You're representing Kaiba Corp., so I expect you to be on your best behaviour, and for you to achieve your absolute best. Try not to disappoint me."
"Geez, talk about bringing the pressure," Naruto thought to himself as he swept out of the room, Mokuba in tow. The entrance exam awaited
Hope you all liked the first chapter everyone. More chapters are coming and they will be proof read by partners. I really loved how this came out, not to mention I loved pairing Naruto with Mokuba, instead of Seto Kaiba. Anyway hope you all enjoyed and please leave your reviews and awesome feedback. Oh if you have any idea of what deck Mokuba should use in the entrance exam please tell me, I haven't chosen a deck for him yet.
