Chapter Twenty
"Beneath you"
A/N So here is a collection of the ways in which Tara would've affected those episodes I'm not going to rewrite, you know, for context. This is the missing scenes for Ep2 and 4 because ep 3 is being moved to later in the series.
*Flashback* Westbury, the world without shrimp 2002
"Sweetie, it'll be ok. Don't worry." Tara said softly, her arm resting on Willow's shoulder as they glanced out of the window. It was raining, again. When did the rain ever cease in this country. It came down in great gushes clogging the drainpipes with its dreary watered quality. Flooding through the streets with hidden menace. Willow had stopped packing for the meantime, Tara continuing to fold the endless piles of clothes until she noticed the redhead slip onto the floor. Her body seemed like it'd been hit with some large blow.
"But, but. I don't..." Willow breathed out, she couldn't form a coherent sentence, it was too much. Tara rushed over to hold the redhead. Her arms clasping around her waist as the comfort leaked out of her.
"Baby, whatever it is that you're thinking is going to happen. I will always love you, and your friends will too. They all love you." Tara kissed Willow's forehead, tasting eager sweat. Her brow furrowing as she relaxed slightly into Tara's arms. Her hair being neatly finger combed, and the rise and fall of the blonde's heartbeat gradually calmed her into a gentle state of rest.
She softly sang a little to Willow, making her drift off to sleep. Carrying her sleepy body onto the bed, Tara tucked her into a quilt. Placing another light kiss onto her forehead she finished packing, it would be a big day tomorrow, they would be going home. She knew Willow was scared, but in truth Tara could sense the deeper worry flitting through her love. She feared the rejection of her friends yes, but she also feared that everything would be different, that she would lose her control over the darkness, that the magic would consume her and she'd lash out again.
