It's the normal September day for class E-3

Well… as normal as it gets.

Chiba rests his head in his palm "Karma… why do we have to go along with this…?"

Karma rolls his eyes "You and Hayami are the top snipers. That's why."

Chiba "But your plan isn't even thought through? We should attack while he's giving a private lesson. Sugaya said he was getting one today so could ask him about it."

Karma thinks "Right? Have Sugaya give you a signal? Korosensei will dodge yours."

Hayami "Which is why I have the follow up shot…"

"So the plan is for during lunch when Sugaya is getting help?"

Skip to lunch break

The two snipers are hiding in position to kill their teacher.

"All set here Karma."

Karma "Good good. On Sugaya's cue…"

"All set."

In the classroom, Sugaya sighs at the problem and goes to stab Korosensei.

Karma "Snipers."

The sniper duo pull the triggers.

Korosensei avoids each one effortlessly "Better luck next time!! Nufufufu"

Chiba stands up "Yeah that was expected…"

Hayami "We should practice a bit more later?"

Chiba nods "Same time and place?"

"Yeah."

They go back to their friend groups to finish lunch.

Chiba's with Okajima and Mimura while Hayami is with Yada, Rio, and Fuwa.

Yada "How'd it go?"

Hayami shrugs "Same as always."

Fuwa "This is only the first chapter. You're not gonna kill him in the first chapter."

"Fuwa what does that even mean…"

She waves it off "Don't worry about it."

Meanwhile the boys

Okajima "You should've taken my input."

Chiba "Last time I took your input for anything Hayami tried to kill me."

Mimura "She won't kill you. You're partners."

Chiba nods and opens his bento "Right… The sniper due…"

After school

Chiba finishes packing his stuff and waits for Hayami. She finishes packing and they leave.

Sugaya grabs Chiba at the door way "Hey. You better let me borrow your notes in exchange for that assassination…"

Chiba nods "Notebook on your desk. Return it when you're done."

"Thanks bro!"

Hayami "Chiba."

"Mm."

The two stay mostly silently the whole walk to the shooting range.

The employee greets them "Welcome! Oh? Hayami-chan, Chiba-chan? Same room?"

Hayami nods "Yes."

"You know the drill. Pick the gun you wanna practice with. Imma need to see your membership cards so you get free access."

The snipers give him their cards and he scans them.

"Alright. Here you two go. And seriously! You two have to remember to wear the safety goggles! I'm not legally responsible if you shoot yourself. You signed the contract when you got the membership cards."

Chiba smiles a little "We know, Yahiko-san."

The two leave for the room. They set their bags down and grab their BB guns.

Chiba tests the weight of the pistol "I really need to improve with these…"

Hayami "The main difference is the weight. You're used to heavier guns like rifles."

"Yeah it's great for the long distance stuff, but I need to work on closer range?"

"Hence why we're here and not on the mountain."

Chiba rolls his hidden eyes with a soft smile "Right. Let's train."

Not surprisingly they both make most shots. Hayami's a bit more accurate at the current distance.

A few hours later

Yahiko comes in "Hey sharp shooters? We close up soon. Last round."

Chiba looks over "Alright. Thank you. We should run out of bullets in a second. Hayami got that?"

She nods still shooting "Alright sir. We're almost done."

Yahiko smiles "You two sure are talented."

The two assassins shrug and resume shooting.

Hayami "We have practice."

Chiba "We work hard."

"Either way? You two sure have a crazy skill. Maybe you should be hunters when you grow up."

The two smile and look at each other.

Chiba "Maybe."

Hayami "We do have experience with hunting so maybe."

"What do you usually hunt?"

The two think or a moment before answering simultaneously.

"Octopus."

Yahiko looks confused "Octopus huh… that's a new one. Finish your rounds and put the guns back."

The two quickly use up the rest of their bullets and clean up.

Chiba picks up their bags and hands Hayami her's "Ready?"

She takes the bag "Let's go. Bye, Yahiko-San."

"Come back soon!"

The snipers leave only to see… it's raining outside…
