I'M BACK BITCHES

Yes, yes I ain't dead, at the end of the chapter is when imma start giving my excuses.

For now though, enjoy the chapter.

Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY or Shuumatsu no Valkyrie.

Jaune is once again contemplating on why he's staying at Beacon as he listens to Professor Port ramble on about one of his stories.

"And that's when I suplexed an elder Ursa, prince of bel-air style!" That doesn't even make any sense!

Jaune looks around the classroom to see what the other students were doing. They were all doing their own things, like Yang who was straight-up sleeping and snoring, Ruby who seemed to be doing her best to not follow after her sister, Blake who buried herself in a book, and Weiss who was somehow taking down notes. How the hell was she able to write down notes from Port's story? And why does Port not seem to care about the students who were obviously not paying attention and were doing their own things?

These two questions had him staring ahead at the whiteboard with a blank look on his face, wondering if he should just leave Beacon. Sure the fried chicken was nice, but 3 out of 4 classes here were boring as hell and Nora still might interrupt him when he was playing a game, its fine if it's a single-player game but if it's an online game he was playing all bets are off.

The combat class was also useless to him, in fact combat class might actually be the most useless one right next to the current class he was in. At least with Port he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants, but in Goodwitch's class he has to watch other students fight each other and he might even get called to fight some fodder who thinks that their hot shit.

His train of thought gets interrupted when Pyrrha pokes him at his left shoulder, who was looking at him with a small frown.

"Jaune, you should be paying attention and write down notes." His partner said in a lecturing tone, which made him face palm.

"Listen Pyrrha, you're telling me to not only pay attention, but to also write down notes from this?"

"Then out of nowhere 10 elder Ursai rushed at me, to avenge their fallen comrades. Of course I won, easily I might add."

Jaune rolled his eyes at that and Pyrrha just chuckles nervously while looking away.

"W-Well, I'm sure that there's a valuable lesson to be learned from his tales."

"As I rode the giant Nevermore, I blasted the other smaller ones away with my weapon while I directed it towards its own nest!"

"…I'm sure there is Pyrrha." Jaune said in a dry tone before he places his arms on his desk and lays his head on top of them, he then closes his eyes in an attempt to fall asleep.

Pyrrha only sighs at seeing this and goes back to trying to find something to write notes about from Port's tales. She only lasted one minute before she puts her notebook away with an annoyed expression. Since there's nothing else to do, Pyrrha lets her eyes wander around the classroom for a while.

She eventually stops at the sight of Jaune's sleeping form, he just happened to be facing towards her so she got a good look at his face as he slept. She couldn't help but stare at him again as he was sleeping, yesterday he was just too cute when he slept but now he looks rather… peaceful.

If only he was actually as peaceful as he looked right now. Honestly, his arrogance might-, no, WILL get him killed someday if it wasn't taken care of soon. Then again, that's why she challenged him to a spar, to do just that. Thankfully he didn't seem to care much about it, she can use that to her advantage and it might even teach him a lesson to not treat any form of combat as a sort of game.

The class with Oobleck went pretty much the same as yesterday did. Oobleck making the students suffer as they do their best to keep up with him, while some just straight up slept on their desks, and Jaune using his semblance to easily write down notes.

Jaune plops down to his seat in the cafeteria with his team and RWBY just right across them. As he was about to grab one of the many fried chicken legs on the plate he brought with him, it was suddenly taken away and replaced with a plate filled with… vegetables!? He recoiled at the sight of them and hissed.

Pyrrha rolled her eyes at him for that and hands him a fork. "Don't be so dramatic Jaune, it's just vegetables."

"Pyrrha, I am not eating this. Now where are my chickens at?" Jaune said as he pushes the plate away. Only for it to be pushed back to him by Pyrrha, but now he could see that his plate of chicken legs was on her side of the table.

"You can have them after you finish those vegetables first." Pyrrha said as she crosses her arms at him.

This made Jaune sigh as he rubs his forehead, before he narrows his eyes at Pyrrha, "Why are you even doing this anyway?"

"Because as I said yesterday, eating only one kind of food everyday isn't good for you Jaune, and as your partner I am willing to make sure that you're eating properly for your own good. Even if I have to force you to."

Okay now she's taking this too far. Jaune glares at Pyrrha and she glares back.

As this happens the others looked at them with worried gazes and stopped what they were doing to prepare to hold both of them back should it come to blows, of course they didn't think that it would come to that since it was only food but since Jaune said that the fried chicken was the only thing keeping him here in Beacon well…

After a minute, an idea suddenly came into Jaune's mind and then he smirks at Pyrrha which made her, and the others, slightly nervous.

Jaune interlocks his fingers together as he places his elbows on the table while looking at Pyrrha with a smirk on his face.

"Well Pyrrha, since you're so adamant about this. Why don't you feed it to me then?"

Everyone at the table immediately freezes as they try to process what Jaune has just said. Jaune just straight-up asked Pyrrha to feed him, and he was still smirking too! Pyrrha was the first one to react and her face went red as she now realizes what Jaune just asked her to do.

"J-J-Jaune! W-W-Why, wha- i-i- uhhh…"

Seeing Pyrrha splutter, Jaune grins and leans closer to her.

"You said that you were willing to make sure that I was eating properly even if you have to force me to, yes? Well you can go ahead and do that right now, Pyr."

Oh gods she did, didn't she? Why did she have to say that, why why why?! But then again, she glances at Jaune's smirking face for a bit before looking away with her cheeks red, well… it wasn't a completely outrageous suggestion so maybe she actually should-

Pyrrha's thoughts skidded to a halt when Jaune suddenly grabs his plate of chicken and places it back in front of him. Her face went blank as Jaune calmly grabs one piece and sinks his teeth into it. From the other side of the table, Pyrrha can hear Yang laughing, no doubt Yang saw the face she made and probably deduced that she actually thought of doing what Jaune asked.

"Ahahahah! Oh my god Jaune, you really have no shame huh?" Yang said with a grin as she wipes a tear away.

Jaune just smirked at that as he reaches with his free hand to grab another chicken leg. "Maybe…"

Just as he was about to bite it, the chicken leg was suddenly pinned to the table by a fork, the fork still vibrated a bit as it settles. With a blank face, Jaune turns to Pyrrha and sees that her right hand was outstretched, her face hidden by her bangs, she then turns away with a huff. Well… that was unnecessary and a waste of good food.

With a sigh, he once again reaches for another, this time he was actually able to sink his teeth into it. As he ate his meal, his thoughts eventually drifted to the spar he was going to have. Some of the students around him were even whispering about it, it seems that most, if not all, of them think that Pyrrha was going to win. Didn't Weiss mention something about Pyrrha being a champion? Eh whatever, against his semblance it wasn't going to matter much. He just has to reassure Pyrrha that she wasn't weak when she loses against him.

The class with Professor Peach went also like yesterday and the break that followed after, went also just like yesterday. Well… almost like yesterday, Pyrrha wasn't present in their dorm during the break but since she was now present for combat class, Jaune didn't care too much about it. What he did care about though, was how at least half of this chapter can basically be summed up to 'was just like yesterday' and the fact that this fic took so damn long to update, jeez it was like the author was being a lazy little bit-

"Jaune Arc and Pyrrha Nikos." Glynda called out from the stage.

Ah, welp time to face the music.

With that thought, Jaune calmly walked up to the stage with Pyrrha beside him. Once the two of them are at the stage, they stood opposite of one another. Jaune had his usual bored look on, in contrast to Pyrrha's serious one.

This is it, she had been planning for this spar with Ren yesterday and said plans were made specifically to counter Jaune, or rather his semblance. She may have had to spend a few lien for it, but it was a sacrifice she was more than willing to make if it ultimately helped her partner out in the future. She could see that Jaune put on his knuckleduster. Good, this means that he was taking this spar at least a little bit seriously.

"Are the both of you ready?" Glynda asked as she looks at the two of them. She was hoping that Pyrrha would win, but her opponent was someone that even she doubts she could beat. All Jaune would need to do in order to win against her is to copy her semblance and turn it into a battle of attrition, one that she knows she wouldn't win.

"Yes Miss Goodwitch." Pyrrha said as she goes into her battle stance, her shield, Akoúo, in front and Miló, in its sword form, on top. Her eyes narrowed though as Jaune hasn't gone into a stance, was he truly that confident in his skills?

"I guess…" Jaune said with a sigh, his arms simply at his sides.

Glynda looked at the both of them one last time, before finally saying, "3, 2, 1, begin!"

Pyrrha tenses her muscles, readying to strike at a moment's notice. Despite that however, she does not move from her position.

One thing that she and Ren are suspicious about when Jaune fights, is that he doesn't strike first, he waits for his enemy to attack, then he avoids their attack and that's when he strikes. Since they have only seen Jaune fight against someone once they weren't completely sure, but considering his semblance… there's a good chance that it may actually be his fighting style. So they thought of getting him to attack first to see if they were right and if they were, Jaune might a mistake that Pyrrha could capitalize on.

Too bad that Jaune experienced that tactic a lot of times already. Usually after around the 2nd to 3rd time he has fought against someone in a match, they would wait for him to attack first, thinking that he wasn't used to it and would make a mistake. Unfortunately for all of them, he copied a move from an old man that pretty much eliminated that problem for him.

"Waiting for me to attack first huh."

Pyrrha didn't respond and just lowered her body more.

Seeing this, Jaune couldn't help but let out a sigh. Honestly, did people really think that just because he usually dodges and counter-attacks it means that he's shit at attacking first? Well… he was at one point but still.

Jaune sends out a fast left jab to Pyrrha's face, much like the one he did on Cardin, not many people were able to dodge it due to how quick it was.

"Oh?" Jaune said in an impressed tone seeing that Pyrrha was able to dodge it, albeit barely, his fist was still able to graze her aura. Lowering her aura a little bit as shown on the screen above.

"Not bad." Jaune complemented genuinely, he truly is impressed that she was able to dodge his first attack. Her thoughts on the matter however were most likely a far cry from his, as hinted by her wide eyes.

"Well then," He curls both of his hands into fists and pulls his right one back, "Here I come!"

With that said, Jaune dashes forward and proceeds to bombard Pyrrha with the fastest jabs anyone has ever seen, and each one was only somehow getting faster than the last. She was only able to barely dodge the first ones before having to bring her shield up, Jaune didn't even pause at that and continued as if her shield wasn't even there.

Feeling the impact of each hit even with her shield up, Pyrrha winced as she feels her left arm start to numb a bit and her aura was still getting lower and lower with each hit. She has to do something- anything to stop Jaune's current assault right now otherwise she won't even get a chance to fight back.

"But wait there's more!" Jaune said as he gains a glint in his eye.

As soon as Pyrrha heard Jaune say that, she got a feeling that if she let Jaune hit her, even if she used her shield to block, she would be down for the count. It was a good thing he shouted before attacking then.

With a quick jump backwards, and putting her shield in front of her in case Jaune's attack still reaches her. Pyrrha sees that she managed to avoid… a low kick? Wait his back is turned, he must have put a lot of power in that kick!

Pyrrha dashed forward and landed a slash which made Jaune grunt, before he lashed out with a back kick that she dodged simply by ducking. She then struck the leg that Jaune used to try to kick her with using the edge of Akoúo which made him wince, before he jumped away from her.

Pyrrha easily followed after him however, since he was only able to use one leg to jump away, and threw at a slash that Jaune easily avoided, then he just as easily avoided the sudden shift of Miló to its javelin form and continued to dodge her attempted stabs before throwing his body backwards to the ground in order to avoid Akoúo, which she threw at him. Without even a slight pause, Jaune quickly rolled sideways and continued to do so in order to dodge the shots from Miló, which shifted to its rifle form.

Jaune then spun himself upwards, landing with ease while using his left hand to redirect the bullets from Miló. The sight of which had Ruby, and a couple other students, stare at him in awe as the speed his left arm was moving at was insane! He then proceeds to grab Akoúo, which circled around and was about to hit his back, with his right hand and moved to equip it on his left arm.

Pyrrha just smirked at him however, which made Jaune raise an eyebrow before he noticed something on the shield far too late.

A loud crack resounded throughout the room as a bright flash came from behind Akoúo, which blinded Jaune instantly, along with some other students, causing him to drop Akoúo.

"ARGH!" Was all Jaune could spit out before he felt a bullet bounce off his aura at his right shoulder, then a kick to the face, then a stab on his stomach. Jaune clenched his eyes shut in hopes of recovering faster from the flashbang that he didn't notice was on Akoúo, and put his arms up to guard his head as he does his best to endure the beating Pyrrha was dishing out on him.

Pyrrha frowned as she continued to pretty much smack Jaune around. She may have wanted to help her partner out by alleviating his arrogance by beating him in a match but doing this still hurts a bit, even more so when she sees that a shield bash to the side of his head left a mean bruise.

With a grimace, Pyrrha decides to end the match with one last blow directly to the head with Akoúo. She then proceeds to shoot her shield arm straight to Jaune's forehead, blowing through his guard and hitting her mark.

Seeing Jaune begin to fall down, Pyrrha moved to catch him, only to freeze when his left hand shot up and grabbed the top of her head, or rather, her hair.

With a grin on his face, "Found you~," Jaune said in a tone that quite honestly sent chills up Pyrrha's and other students spines.

'Oh shit' Was the only coherent thought Pyrrha was capable of thinking at the moment before feeling something hard bury itself in the middle of her face, ah it was Jaune's knuckle duster… shit.

After that one punch to Pyrrha's nose, the match turned into one of attrition as Jaune rained punches on Pyrrha's face, well he was pretty much hitting her shield actually as she covered her face with Akoúo immediately after he landed the first one, and she countered by slashing away at him with Miló.

From the benches, Nora and Yang were watching with bated breaths as they watched, the two of them excited to find out if Pyrrha was about to beat Jaune, the boy with the most overpowered semblance they know, or if Jaune would still be the winner even after that BIG setback from the flashbang.

That said, the two of them were quite possibly the only ones who were able to enjoy the current match, well three actually as Weiss was clearly rooting for Pyrrha to win. Ren and Ruby on the other hand were wincing with each hit that Jaune and Pyrrha threw at each other. Meanwhile Blake was reading her book, or was pretending to as her eyes could be seen to be peering over it.

The other students leaned forward, anxious to find out who would the match, would it be Pyrrha 'The Invincible Girl' or would it be Jaune, a boy they never heard of but was instantly revealed to be monstrously strong.

Everyone's attention was then focused on Pyrrha winding Miló back for one last slash, Jaune's aura levels were bordering on red so just one hit would be enough for her to win the match, while hers was down to low orange but not quite as low as Jaune's.

Miló then sliced through the air with its wielder directing it to Jaune's left side, zoning in on its target half-way then… Jaune's eyes opened and his eyes zeroed in on Miló homing on him.

Jaune immediately redirected the course of his right punch and it hit the flat side of Miló, pushing it away from its original path and causing Pyrrha to look over her shield with a shocked look. Her face paled when she sees Jaune look back with his semblance active.

Before Pyrrha had any time to react, she was swept off her feet and the hand that was on top of her hair was now gripping her face as her head was pushed to the ground. Her aura bordered on red as the impact of her head being smashed into the ground, and Miló clanging as it was dropped, could be heard throughout the room. With glazed eyes, Pyrrha could see Jaune bringing down a punch… or was it a kick? Whatever it may be, it will definitely end the match even if she tried to block it with Akoúo.

With all her focus and willpower, Pyrrha reached out to Miló with her semblance, Polarity, and tosses it towards Jaune. She knows that Miló won't actually be able to hit him, but it should be enough of a distraction for her to escape her current predicament. And it was, as she was able to roll away from Jaune as he turned to catch Miló with his left hand. As she got up however, her face met the end of Jaune's shoe and her head bobbed backwards as her aura dropped to red.

Glynda immediately moved between incase either one of them tried anything, after all, some students get too absorbed in the heat of their matches that they continued fighting even when their auras were in the red.

With a wave of her crop and scowl on her face, Glynda shouts, "The winner of the match is Jaune Arc!"

Nora and Yang cheered after Glynda said that, rather loudly too. Weiss on the other hand, well she pretty much shutdown at seeing Pyrrha actually lose a match. Ruby and Ren let out a sigh of relief at the match being over. And Blake? She merely let out a 'hmm' before going back to reading her book.

The rest of the students however, were divided. Some applauded Jaune for winning, some refused to accept that THE Pyrrha Nikos lost to some dude they never even heard of till today, a few just plain didn't give shit but applauded nonetheless.

Jaune didn't care about them though, what he did care about was Pyrrha, who was looking at the ground with a dazed look.

Pyrrha was currently processing the fact that she just lost a match, and to her partner that she was determined to beat too. Well… it's not entirely bad, it just means that since she lost to Jaune, he really has nothing to worry about in terms of combat… hopefully. Her face soon shifted to a neutral one and she moved to get up from the floor, only to see a hand in front of her face. Knowing it was definitely Jaune's, she grabbed it and was soon lifted up from the floor.

They then made their way down the stage and sat down besides Ren and Nora as Glynda called the next students.

"That was the closest match I ever had Pyr." Jaune said, surprisingly being the first one to speak. Which caught his team and RWBY off guard.

He then turns to Pyrrha with a smile, "We should do it again sometime." It truly was the closest match he ever had, well the only close match he ever really had actually. None of his previous opponents ever used a flashbang on him before also, he'll definitely have to watch out for that in the future.

What Jaune just said surprised Pyrrha, she had expected him to start off with something along the lines of: "I told you so." Jaune saying that he WANTED to have another match with her was something that she didn't expect, but it was a welcome surprise.

Returning his smile, Pyrrha replies, "That sounds grand!" This time, she didn't fake that one.

THANK THE MAKER I FINALLY GOT THIS CHAPTER OUT OF THE WAY AFTER TWO MONTHS. Btw if you guys got that reference you should be proud, probably.

Well anyways here are my excuses on why I wasn't active for 2 months or so.

First, I lost the fire I had when I first started this fic. You see the series of project my school sent everyone to do was the Research Paper, you know the Chapter 1, 2 & 3 research things. So I had to bring all the fucks that I give into it and was able to pass through it along with other projects from other subjects. And after school was over, when I looked to start updating this fanfic that's when I found out about it. Don't worry though, I'll be able to keep updating this fic cuz my brain is just that good.

Second, I buried myself in games. Not just multiplayer ones btw, singleplayer ones too. Like Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, DOOM, and this one called: Judgment Apocalypse Survival Simulation. Not as good as the first reason I know but is still one of the reasons.

Third, I had a hard time trying to emulate Coeur's writing style. One of the tips that were suggested to me was to try to copy Coeur's writing style, I did my best as shown on chapter 3 – First day of class. But when I got to this chapter that's when I really had a hard time and got stuck for a while.

Then I remembered something from a comedy video on YouTube, which I forgot the name of, which was what finally got me to start typing again.

"Screw it"

That's it, that's literally it. I just remembered that thing being said on the video and it got me to start updating this fic. Of course, this means that I'll also be saying "Screw it" to trying to copy Coeur's writing style, I'm just not good enough sadly ;-; but fuck it imma do this with my own style now.

So those are my excuses on why I was merely chilling for 2 months, feel free to roast me in reviews or pm or however you prefer. Sorry btw that this chapter is rather short compared to the last one but eh, did my best.

If you're wondering when the next chapter is, well I did say in my profile to not expect regular updates.

I do need to get my thoughts in order right now though, because I'm currently thinking of making another fanfic and as said in my profile, I have a rather active imagination. So I'm thinking of like 2 different fanfics right now, maybe even 3 actually.

So anyways, that's about it, hope you guys enjoyed the chapter.

Bye for now.
