Questions:
1: is there a point to the interlude side-story.
(yes).
They are optional.
2: Guest: 'how are they're going to react to Black Panther despite their lack knowledge of racism'?
First of all, MHA still has racism, not just for black or Asians but also for Mutant-types, we just don't see much of it because the story takes place in Japan. The only racism that would be common there would be for mutant-types.
Secondly, Black Panther isn't just about racism, but rather about unity and joining the world.
I'll think of something when I get to that film. We still have a couple of films left to do before I start thinking about that.
With the questions out of the way, time to return to Guardians of the Galaxy.
Yes technically this takes place months after the first GotG film and in timeline order, it should be after that film. But again, I am doing theatrical release order.
So, let's do this and meet Baby Groot!
NOTE (READ THIS): the Following story is following the film of 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2', to avoid copyright issues and number 3 of 'Entries not allowed' under the website' Rules and Guidelines, there will not be any use or descriptions of shown scenes, just the character's reactions and descriptions of what they see, to understand this fanfiction, you must watch the movie and read this fanfiction at the same time, there will be timestamps to where they have watched and when they give commentary before resuming.
The best way to read this is by watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on Disney(plus), which is how I managed to wrote the reactions and placed the timestamps.
Forgive the annoyance but I hope you can follow this story.
The FWM appears on the stage with a smile, as she starts by asking a question.
"What makes a good hero, destined for greatness?"
This was a little confusing for the audience since the question itself sounds very obvious, some already thought of their answer but eager to hear what the hooded girl have to say.
"To me, I believe the answer is parent issues!"
This left even more confusion.
"Think about all those previous heroes in this reality and the state of their parents, they're either dead or horrible people, and I'm aware that a few in the student group have those traits."
Those who had those traits in the student group grunted towards the girl's comment, a little offended as it was personal to them.
"But that means you're going to do great! And in this film, we're going to see how having dead parents, literal and metaphorical, makes their child a great hero! Enjoy!"
And with that, the FWM left the stage and the film begins to play
00:00:00 - 00:01:05 (Song: Brady (you're a fine girl))
After the Marvel opening, the scene starts with Earth, with the location being Missouri in 1980, and already a song is being played.
"Opening with classic music huh?" Mina said, listening to the tune, stepping her right foot in the beat and clicking her finger.
00:01:05 - 00:01:37
The scene shows the car and a couple, with the lady singing the song.
While listening to the song, Jiro did the same as Mina, tapping her foot, as she likes the classic beat, along with the music, both sung by both the girl and the singer of the song. Unfortunately, she didn't hear much of this song, but she wanted to sing along, she found herself muttering, thinking about what the English words would be based on the beats, only to end in mutter singing.
Meanwhile, for Midoriya, he notices the face of the girl, having a feeling that he seen her before.
And based on the name of the film, he slowly realizes who it was.
He resumes watching, curious to know more of what's going on and the man who's with her.
00:01:37 - 00:01:49
"Do like sweet couple antics," Mina said, happy for the two.
However, others were curious about what the man wants to show the girl.
00:01:49 - 00:01:57
"What is that?" one of the 1-B students asked. "Ibara you know plants right?"
"I know about vines," she replied, "just because I have them on my hair doesn't make me an expert in plantlife… but I'm not sure what that thing is."
"I know a bit of plant life other than mushrooms," Kinoko said, "and I don't even know what that thing is, nothing that I have seen, it looks very… alien…"
That made a sudden click to Midoriya's mind. Along with those with suspicions towards the couple.
00:01:57 - 00:02:03
This brings a mixed message, but not something serious. To most of the minds in the audience, they assume he meant that he wanted to bring the same plant all over the universe, having the plant life spread, which might indicate something, might be good or bad, but it's too early to make more structured assumptions.
00:02:03 - 00:02:18
And with more seconds in the film, it reveals the identity of the couple.
"So that's Starlord's mother… the one who died from cancer…" Asui pointed out.
"Oh yeah," Uraraka recalled, a little sad about how it went out especially for her son. It also brings another thing, "so if I got this right, that guy must be the father."
"a little early for a father reveal, but I don't mind." Sero said, "it solves that mystery and who knows, maybe we'll see him again later in the film."
With that, Midoriya was happy to know Peter's father, which was something he liked. Probably due to the fact that he doesn't know his father. And with FWM talking about 'dead parents' and how some of the students have that, he knew she was talking to him since he only has his mother.
00:02:18 - 00:02:47
He tries his best to forget that part of him by listening to the song once again as it went louder.
But the scene was a little weird for them, as it shows the plant moving, as though it's beating to the music, the camera goes inside the planet, showing off what seems to be cells and strings, grossing some of the audience, the ones who didn't are those who are like plants, those who know that plants have insides and cells just like humans and all organic life and Asui.
00:02:47 - 00:02:49
"And we're back in the present." Mina said as the title reveals '34 years later.'
"Not necessary." Momo said, "if it's been 34 years, it would mean we would see 2014 if I recall from Civil War, that film takes place in 2016. Two years."
"That's right." Iida said, "and if not mistaken, the first Guardians of the Galaxy film took place in that same year like this one."
"So it's a film that takes place in the past in comparison of the films known present," Midoriya said, taking it in notes, recalling the different times in each film.
00:02:49 - 00:02:58
"That's a planet mess!" Sero was surprised by the look of the planet, not just one planet but several planets mushed together with the title of the location labelled the place as 'The Sovereign.'
Midoriya, after writing the time notes, also wrote the name of the planet, with additions on how it seems to have a mixture of eight to nine planets.
Since this is the matter and logic of outer space, he wouldn't question it, but find it interesting.
00:02:58 - 00:03:11
"About time!" Twice shouted, happy to see the Guardians of the Galaxy along with the rest of the audience as they find them somewhat a mixture of criminal and heroes, which would be the equivalent of having dogs and cats living together.
Either way, it's going to be interesting to see them, as in the previous film when they saw them, they were outcasts and criminals, coming together to save the galaxy from a threat who could wipe out all life on a planet.
Making most of them wonder what they'll do in this film.
00:03:11 - 00:03:16
"Already they're going to fight," one of the students pointed out, thrilled to see a battle with the Guardians.
00:03:16 - 00:03:28
"Guess it make sense," Aizawa said, "aside from an interdimensional beast existing, which already gave me a headache, having alternatives is better to have, a one-trick pony doesn't always work."
"Someone say something?" the horse student of 1-B heard her name.
"In this case, if the beast is hard to defeat, heavy weaponry would be the best option." All Might added, now curious about this 'interdimensional beast'.
00:03:28 - 00:03:33
"Guess they're talking about those jetpacks Peter and Gamora are wearing," Hatsume said, "and I have to agree with green lady, why isn't he wearing one of Rocket's deadly babies?"
00:03:33 - 00:03:41
The answer was something both Hatsume and everyone else wasn't expecting.
Some laugh along with Rocket while others found it very strange.
"So that's why he doesn't wear a shirt?" Kirishima said, "I thought it's because he wanted to be manly and someone who is manly is often shirtless."
"Yeah!" Tetsutetsu, "shirtless all the way."
"So that's why you don't wear one." Mina smiled, "I thought you would have the same problem as Drax."
Though she was joking, Kirishima took it seriously. "No way!" he shouted, "I don't have sensitive nipples!"
This caused the ones who laugh with Rocket to laugh, even more, embarrassing the red hair student.
00:03:41 - 00:03:50
"It would be nice to listen to some music while being heroes." Present Mic said.
"I see it more as a distraction." Aizawa sighs. "especially, when they're wasting precious time preparing a pointless addition when they should be ready for battle."
00:03:50 - 00:03:58
"At least he's not an idiot and understands that fighting is more important than the music background," Shigaraki said.
00:03:58 - 00:04:07
"No, it's because you're constantly winking," Toga pointed out, "you just have to do it once."
00:04:07 - 00:04:14
And so, with the appearance of the final member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, upon seeing the little tree, who remembered as a little stick in a plant. Most of the audience cooed in delight.
"Oohhhh my goodness!" all the girls in the audience said in sync, including Midnight and Toga. Jumping towards the screen in glee, "he so adorable and cute!"
Seeing the girls act, made Mineta and Denki struct in utter jealousy.
Eri was also jealous, but not in the same sense as the two boys, but jealous that there was someone cuter than her. She wasn't happy. "I prefer Rocket as the cutest." She said, hugging the toy plush of the racoon.
"Oh my, he is like a baby with that adorable voice." Uraraka said, "like…a baby Groot."
"I believe that would be his name," Momo said, finding the little tree adorable.
"Okay ladies, can you settle down so we all can watch the film?" Tokoyami sighed, annoyed by girl semantics to finding cute things.
00:04:14 - 00:04:19
The girls settled down, right when they were jumped by the sudden storm cloud.
"Looks like the beast is coming." All Might said, getting prepared.
00:04:19 - 00:04:29
The interdimensional beast revealed as it looks like a big monster with tentacles.
"of course…" Tamaki said, "it's not a sci-fi movie without tentacles."
And with that, the battle with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the interdimensional beast begins.
00:04:29 - 00:04:35
With the first charge and Drax getting knock out right away, the scene focused more on Groot with the amps.
"Oh boy." Mina smiled, with a mixture of the adorableness of Baby Groot and him with two wires, she was ready for an amazing moment. "Plug them in, my adorable tree!"
00:04:35 - 00:07:26 (Title Drop, Song: Mr Blue Sky)
The following sequence and the opening of the film were the most unexpected and very funniest scene they saw.
All starting with Baby Groot clicking the wires together, the music plays and the Pink girl already recognizes the song.
"is that Mister Blue Sky?" she shouted, addition to the cuteness of the little tree, she was delighted to hear a song she recognizes.
Jiro smile, knowing the song as it was known for one of the happiest songs in music. An old classic that she heard a few times with her parents.
And now it's being used in the following sequence as Groot dances over the music while the rest of the Guardians fought a giant tentacle monster.
This had many positive mixtures from the audience, especially the students, even more so for those who like Baby Groot. They didn't even notice the battle happening in the background and more on likening the little tree.
"Look at him go!" Mina said, loving the kid-friendly dance moves as Star-Lord gets hit by a tentacle. "You go, Baby Groot moves those legs and dance to the beat!"
There was even a moment where Drax appeared and Groot froze, recalling the end of the first Guardians film when stick Groot froze whenever Drax look at him like musical statues.
Overall, the students had a good time, as they were very entertained by the sequence.
The teachers and villains on the other hand, not so.
Aside from Present Mic, who was focused on the beat of the song he liked, they were more focused on the blurred battle and concerned for the child-like Groot being in the middle of a battlefield.
The villains were also focused on the fight, and they enjoyed the heroes getting constantly beaten up. However, they didn't like the fact that happy cheery music is being played. The only exception being Toga, who both love watching the Guardians getting beaten up, the happy tunes and the adorableness that is Baby Groot as he skits towards the monster and back to the music amp where he started dancing.
Overall in full conclusion, it was a great sequence to start the film and almost everyone is happy about what's going on.
00:07:23 - 00:07:26
"About time…" Aizawa said, "thought that song never stopped…"
"You're such a buzzkill Aizawa-sensei," Mina said with a crossed face, to both her teacher and Drax.
"She got a point." Present Mic added with a grin.
00:07:26 - 00:07:30
"Show him what you got little Groot!" the pink student put a fist in the air when Groot attacked Drax, "that's for ruining the song!"
00:07:30 - 00:07:42
Hearing Drax, caused many facepalms from most of the audience, even Toga followed them as she is an expert at stabbing.
"Okay, but how can you cut the skin from the inside if you…"
00:07:42 - 00:07:54
Before Iida could finish, the audience watches as Drax run and jump at the monster and got swallowed up whole.
"What is he doing?!" most of the audience said in sync. Along with a mixture of confusion and facepalms.
"I believe he can kill the monster by cutting its skin from the inside" Kurogiri explained.
"but that doesn't make any sense!" one of the teachers pointed out, "the skin layer would be the same from the outside and the inside,"
"Yeah," Kirishima agrees, as he knows much about it due to his quirk, "it would be like trying to knock down a wall with a small hammer and then go to the side of the wall expecting different results."
"But he does look manly jumping in the jaws of the monster, right?" the 1-B metal student said.
"Yeah, I guess it is manly."
"Manly and stupid!" Denki pointed out. "he's going to get eaten in there."
"You mean digested?" Momo pointed out.
"You know what I mean."
"Then hope they can defeat the beast before that happens."
00:07:54 - 00:08:11
"Yeah, he is going to die in there." Dabi sighs with a facepalm, watching Drax raging out, trying to cut the skin to no avail "I know there are villains who are stupid, but even they wouldn't be so suicidal and reckless as this…"
00:08:11 - 00:08:16
"Already analyzing the weakness of the monster and formed a plan to defeat it," Midoriya said, happy towards the information, as he didn't know how he would defeat the monster, didn't even consider weak spots.
00:08:16 - 00:08:37
"There's the cut." One of the teachers pointed out, "now Gamora have to hit it…"
00:08:37 - 00:08:43
"like most times, guns can jam," Snipe said, a little disappointed when the weapon runs out of ammo.
Then the green lady pulls out a sword, giving smiles to those who like her sword skills.
"Guns are just primary for this mission." Present Mic said, "but already be ready for a backup."
"and for this case, her backup is a sword." Midnight said.
00:08:43 - 00:09:07
A little worried when Star-Lord was caught. They watch Gamora running towards the beast with a sword, jumping on the tentacles and finally hitting the weak spot, slitting it downwards as yellow blood spat out. making the beast roar out and collapse on its death.
"That is… so awesome!" the red hair student said. As he and the rest of the students cheered when the Guardians defeated the beast.
Seeing the blood, Twice turns to his girl friend and notice that she wasn't reacting as much towards the beast's death.
"Uh… Toga?" Twice calmly asked.
"What?" the girl turns to her masked friend.
"Just a question… why aren't you happy towards the blood! Isn't it like… your whole thing? There's alien blood around!"
In response, Toga shugs, "I don't like it…"
This caused those who know Toga in utter shock, hearing the blood-obsessed villain not liking blood.
"Firstly, it's yellow, blood should be and always will be red, anything other than red is just disgusting."
"Well… it is alien…" Spinner pointed out.
"And that's another thing why I don't like it." Toga added, "it's alien, I like blood because I know I can consume it and turn into the person, and I wouldn't want to drink that blood, I don't even know if my quirk can work on humanoid aliens."
"So what you're saying is that if you're surrounded by aliens, you wouldn't cut them," Dabi asked
"If they don't have red blood, maybe." Toga answered, "you stab so much you just get used to it, I guess…"
00:09:07 - 00:09:27
"Oh Drax, you amazing idiot." One of the students said, "went from a vengeful killer with no understanding of metaphors or phrases to a complete meathead warrior."
"I still like him," Kirishima said, "he becomes more manly in this film."
"Aside from having sensitive nipples." Mina pointed out.
And with that, the battle against the interdimensional beast was over.
00:09:27 - 00:09:44
"except for the battery part." Todoroki pointed out, "he got that down."
This caused a few snickers which the ice-hot student didn't understand. "did I say something wrong?"
"No…" Sero said, stopping his laughter, "I would say you might be on the same level as Drax…"
"I don't get it." He ignored the tape student and resume watching the film.
00:09:44 - 00:09:53
"A little extreme, don't you think?" Momo said when Peter said the people of the planet are easily offended and the cost of transgression is death. "Then again, alien planet with their own rules."
"I guess some people would think our system is weird." Present Mic added. "that's civilizations for you."
00:09:53 - 00:10:16
The next scene shows the Guardians meeting with what seemed to be the ruler of the Sovereign, thanking them and give what sounds like a forced exposition about how the Sovereign are genetically build to play a part in the planet's society.
Already, the first impression from the audience, especially the villains are that they are 'gold people who think too highly about themselves.' And when the genetic part was explained, it gives a sense of unsettlement towards the idea of an entire race that designed themselves to be genetically designed in a way that fit in their community.
"Yeah, screw the Sovereign." Toga said, not liking the gold people.
00:10:16 - 00:10:30
Hearing what the gold lady said cruised shock towards most of the audience.
"Is she implying what I think she's implying?" Mineta said.
"Yeah…" Iida said, "I'm surprised that there's an alien race that managed to enhanced the technology of their reproduction cycle that casual intercourse would be ancient to them."
"That's possible!?" Mineta and Midnight said in sync, all shocked towards the idea.
"It could… be…" Momo stuttered, "I heard that artificial…"
"Don't explain it to me!" Midnight said, "I wouldn't want to think about a world too advanced for sex."
"I agree with you!" Mineta agreed with the attractive teacher, "do they even have affection? Are they trying to turn him on purposely or doesn't she know what it's like?"
"At least it's a world without perverts…" Jiro said, angered by the short purple students.
"I'm not thinking about that… okay I was… but I don't like the idea that there wouldn't be guys slobbering over the beauty of the female body."
"Or showing it off to guys who wants to know the ever-covered mystery of the body."
"You're seriously siding with Mienta?" Aizawa pointed out to the female teacher.
"Of course, I am." She replied, "I don't like the idea that nobody is attractive to me."
"Yeah!" Mineta said, "so overall, I agree with Quill, I prefer the old fashion way, and I don't like how they see it being something 'archaic'."
With the rant of the pervert and the exposed-wannabe, most of the audience sighed towards the two. They had some form of sense, probably because they are human and what the gold people considered 'old-fashion' is regular to them and probably never going to be outdated anytime soon.
00:10:30 - 00:10:41
"At least Quill is there as the pervert…" Mineta said, "and best to rediscover."
00:10:41 - 00:10:48
"Thank you for changing the subject, ribbit" Asui said to Gamora who change the subject to more importance. "I still can't stand against the little twerp…"
Hearing what the green lady said, the audience who got over the perverts' antics were curious about what the Sovereign has that had the Guardians hired to fight the tentacle monster.
00:10:48 - 00:11:04
"Guess it is." One of the students smiled when the exchange turns out to be a captured Nebula.
Those who notice were surprised to see her again, recalling the last time, she was working for Ronan, but then escaped using one of the Ravagers ships.
"Sister and sister reunited at last," Tokoyami said.
00:11:04 - 00:11:20
"So, in the end, she would still be valuable and a reasonable exchange." Kurogiri said, "the Sovereign hire the Guardians services in exchange for giving their prisoner Nebula, the batteries would be safe and the Guardians would be paid when the bounty is collected."
"Make sense." One of the teachers agreed with the warp villain. "they would do good from that."
"I thought you don't see them as heroes." Spinner pointed out.
"No, we do not." Another teacher said, "it's just that since they are pardoned from their past crimes last time we saw them. They're now in a position as justly bounty hunters or crime-free freelancers, their background, however, is what keeps them from being heroes to my eyes."
"Well give them time." All Might said, who unlike the rest of the teachers, see the Guardians as heroes. doing something even he wouldn't be able to do. Save the galaxy. "I'm sure they won't go back to their old roots…"
00:11:20 - 00:11:51
After taking Nebula, the gold lady, now known as High Priestess Ayesha, was curious about Quill's heritage before mentioning how she notices a genetic hybrid within Quill.
While most didn't like this part because of the sound of genetics, Midoriya found it interesting as it might allude to the mystery towards Peter's father, which was hinted at in the previous film and already revealed in this film. But still doesn't make who his father was.
He keeps this in notes.
00:11:51 - 00:11:59
Then Rocket ruins the moment by giving a comment that offended the Sovereign.
"Was he trying to wink or attempt sarcasm?" one of the students said when Rocket winked, causing another wave of facepalms.
00:11:59 - 00:12:06
"And I thought Drax was the one who doesn't understand metaphors," Nezu said, a little disappointed in the racoon. "Better leave before you make things worse…"
00:12:06 - 00:12:19
"And that didn't last long." Aizawa said, "so All Might, you think they won't go back to their old roots?"
"Okay… fine…" All Might felt embarrassed, "maybe not all of them."
"This is why we don't trust anyone with criminal backgrounds people." Aizawa said looking at the villains, "they will do things off your back at any given moment."
Knowing that Rocket stolen batteries from the Sovereign gave off a bad feeling for the audience.
00:12:19 - 00:13:01 (Song: Lake Shore Drive)
The following scene was the Guardian's ship getting ready to leave the planet, with music being played while Groot looks over the golden city, giving smiles from the audience, liking the innocence and learning experience of the child tree.
Jiro listened to the song, finding the tapping since it's music, but not very her style, as it was a fast-paced country or mellow. It was calm relaxing, a song to listen to while on the open road in a long journey, making it fitting for this scene.
When the scene shows the stereo, Mina smiled to see that Peter's present is being used, showing brand new songs that people in the American 80s would listen to and like. When the film is over, she cannot wait to listen and dance to this music when the film is finished.
00:13:01 - 00:13:33
"Which can be a little sensitive," Midoriya said. Relieved that nobody asks him about his father, most likely he would stutter and say the truth, that he works overseas and he never met or knew him.
00:13:33 - 00:13:46
"Well, she did interrupt when they talked about sexual re-education." Midnight pointed out. "I'll would glad to demonstrate."
00:13:46 - 00:13:49
Some of the audience jumped when Drax appeared out of nowhere.
"Where did he come from?" Uraraka asked one of the few who jumped.
00:13:49 - 00:13:56
"About time he makes some metaphors," Kirishima said, feeling a little proud of the shirtless alien.
"I don't believe that." Mina disagrees with Drax, "anyone can dance. It's just some don't want to."
"And those would be those who do not," Tokoyami said.
"But they can still dance…"
00:13:56 - 00:14:21
Then Drax describes how he met his wife, saying how she didn't dance and stood still when music was played and people were dancing. Evidencing that Drax was being literal than metaphorical.
"Sounds like the perfect match." Mina strutted with a weak smile, a little surprised that Drax is into people who don't dance, which she was okay with since it would give a match for tough strong warrior couples, even if it's not a cute couple, it makes sense.
00:14:21 - 00:14:26
"Okay, too much information dude," Denki said as he and most of the students were grossed out from what Drax said.
00:14:26 - 00:14:35
"That's some love advice from Drax," Jiro said towards the two girls who are into relationships.
"I mean… it can be a match… I don't know, I only look for opportunities." Mina said, overall feeling mixed when Drax love advice conflicts with her interest in dancing.
"If Gamora doesn't work out, then yeah, she can find a pathetic lover who dances." Mina weakly said, a little uneased, now thinking that Drax would call her pathetic, even know he wouldn't intentionally insult her but give out a fact she doesn't like.
00:14:35 - 00:14:45
"Yeah, better off not eating underripe fruits." One of the teachers said, "especially alien ones."
00:14:45 - 00:14:49
"No, she tried to save you but you decided to leave and she gave that stone over to the proper authorities." Iida said, "very common that villains make up delusions for their excuse to blame others."
"You really think so?" Toga pointed out over to the 1-B student, "then care to explain the one who constantly says that one class is better than the other?"
"Well, we are," Monoma said.
"No… I can see her point," Kendo agrees with the villain.
00:14:49 - 00:15:04
"Considering the state of their prisons, I can see her easily escaping, like the Guardians did" Compress said, recalling the previous film that showed the prison beyond the stars, "probably kill every prisoner there before going after the guards."
00:14:49 - 00:15:21
"And of course, Drax couldn't keep a secret." one of the villains said.
"That being said, the gold people show up." Twice said in a calmful manner, before changing his voice to a more regular crazy tone, "and they want their batteries back!"
And so, the chase with the Guardians and the Sovereigns begins.
00:15:21 - 00:15:42
Shigaraki smiled towards Rocket's statement, liking the idea of 'teaching someone a lesson.' Just as how Overhaul talked down to him, thinking that he's above him when he is completely wrong.
Aizawa sighs towards a twist he could see coming, knowing that villains would be willing to turn against another given the right opportunity. Even seeing the look from the leader of the League of Villains enjoying this fact. He can tell Shigaraki would be willing to do the same.
00:15:42 - 00:15:55
"Or you just can't tell that it's sarcasm." One of the students said, "come on Rocket, you're making Drax look smarter."
00:15:55 - 00:16:08
"And reckless unnecessary murders to his list," Aizawa muttered when Rocket blew up several ships along with his claim wanting to kill them, painting a bigger bad image towards the racoon.
00:16:08 - 00:16:26
The teacher's thought then brought a sudden turn when it turns out the ships were remotely controlled as the scene reveals the Sovereigns controlling the ships.
"Well, that's interesting." Denki was impressed, "they're piloting the ships remotely like a video game.
"A flight simulator arcade to be exact." Shigaraki said, knowing his games, "not my taste and I don't often play cabinets."
"So, you play video games?" the electric student asked, now interested in the villain's interest.
"Of course." He answered, not liking the student but be willing to let out his interests. "They inspire me to make plans against society."
"That explains a lot," Dabi said.
00:16:08 - 00:16:36
"Even though nobody except the guardians would die as a result?" Todoroki questions the admiral's logic.
"Maybe expensive to make new ships?" Momo pointed out, "they all seemed to be made out of gold after all."
00:16:36 - 00:16:45
"Heresy?" one of the students questions the high priestess, "what it's a religion to them."
"This planet is incredibly weird," Hatsume said, "no wonder the gold people are easily offended."
00:16:45 - 00:17:13
"Sounds incredibly dangerous," Kirishima said, listening to Gamora's plan to escape along, hoping that they can get out alright.
"a quantum asteroid field? How does that work? What makes it different from a regular asteroid field" Thirteen asked, curious about the idea.
00:17:13 - 00:17:23
In a proper glimpse at the asteroid field, the audience realized what makes it different and more dangerous than a regular asteroid field.
"So, the asteroids aren't just floating around?" Uraraka attempts to understand, "but they're appearing and disappearing at the same time?"
"Seems that way," Midoriya said, seeing a rock appearing and disappearing, noting it down.
"So, in other words, they are trying to go through a field with numerous projectiles that could appear at any given moment." All Might said, "as Young Kirishima said, it sounds hard to survive through."
"But still awesome if they managed to get through it." The red student said, thinking that if Quill or Rocket can get through the field, it would make them look manly.
00:17:23 - 00:17:40
The following scene shows more of the chase, with Rocket controlling the ship, he guides through the field while the golden ships are getting crashed by the asteroids.
There wasn't much to say about this scene, but rather the thrill of seeing a high-speed chase with so much danger that it excites the audience.
00:17:40 - 00:17:44
"A little too young to fly a spaceship at that age, don't you think?" Midoriya said, noting down the fact that Peter learned to fly since ten years old, showing that he has more experience at a younger age, especially for him since he only started his quirk training at fourteen. "Then again, he was raised in a mercenary group that steals and kills. Probably haven't got a choice and had to learn the hard way…"
00:17:44 - 00:17:51
"Have to agree with Gamora." Midnight said, "you can't be arguing and constantly take control as a pilot while guiding through an asteroid field."
"I'm surprised they haven't crashed yet." Kurogiri pointed out.
00:17:51 - 00:18:11
"Okay, seriously?" Jiro was grossed out along with several others in the audience when Rocket threatens Quill that he would put Drax's turd on his pillow and Drax laughing towards it saying how he has 'famously big turds' leaving a very grossed out discussion.
00:18:11 - 00:18:13
"About turds? Sure, why not? PILLOW POOP!" Twice shouted.
"The Guardians of the Galaxy are very unorganized," Tokoroki said.
"But that's what makes them fun," Toga added, with those who like the humour of space criminal heroes agreeing with her.
00:18:13 - 00:18:22
"And there we go," Kurogiri said, expecting a hit to happen.
While the rest were now worried about the ship getting hit, but only a few care about Nebula's situation.
00:18:22 - 00:18:38
Relived that they managed to get it under control, there were a few sighs when Rocket mocked Quill about his flight skills.
"Rather what happens when two drivers share the same wheel." Tokoyami pointed out.
00:18:38 - 00:19:00
The chase continues with only one ship left to go, the audience hoped for an asteroid to hit the remaining ship and for the Guardians to escape.
But when Drax moved and went down in the ship, they were curious about what he's going to do.
"He has a plan." All Might said, "what is he going to do?"
00:19:00 - 00:19:13
"Hook and spacesuit," All Might ponders while a few in the audience chuckle when they saw the words 'for fun' on the label of spacesuits that are for emergencies.
The former symbol, however, along with a few who were curious, start to understand what he's going to do.
00:19:13 - 00:19:29
There were several small scenes back at the Sovereigns, with one guy who's piloting the remaining ship, named Zylak, trying to destroy the Guardian ship while people around him is looking at his screen.
"It is really a video game to them," Sero said. "Like when someone at an arcade trying to reach a high score while having an audience seeing if they can get it."
This was interesting for Shigaraki, though a little annoyed from how there's people around Zylak, one of the reasons he didn't like arcades, if he's skilled towards a game, the people cheering around him, the applauses and pleases, he doesn't like them and find them very distracting.
He would rather play a game alone with NPCs than online with other people.
00:19:29 - 00:19:35
The scene cuts back to Drax, who enter through the shield holding a weapon while opening the shield that blocked the hole in the ship.
Nearly everyone knew what he's doing.
"Is he insane!?" Mineta shouted, "he's going to…"
00:19:35 - 00:19:42
But before the purple student could finish, Drax did what everyone expected, he jumps out of the ship and float in space, while a hook keeps him holding the ship.
"What?!" most of the audience shouted in shock.
"Seriously? That's incredibly reckless!" Mineta said, "does he have a death wish or something?"
"It's Drax we're talking about," Jiro said, reminding everyone about the character.
"That's right," Nezu said, expected Drax to do this, though a little surprised that he was willing to do it.
00:19:42 - 00:19:51
"Even if the act is reckless, it worked." Nezu smiled, "with no weapons behind, Drax has to make one using himself. Now they can focus on the guiding through the quantum asteroid field."
"And Drax has to get back on the ship before he gets hit." Present Mic said in worry, "he is seriously going to die out there!"
00:19:51 - 00:19:58
"And that's when I erase them with my bare hands." Shigaraki groans, another reason he doesn't like people watching him play, especially when they make comments similar to what the gold people made to Zylak, the negative ones.
00:19:58 - 00:20:04
The audience became relieved when they see the Guardian ship escaping the field.
"They did it!" Hagakure cheered. "Now they just have to…"
00:20:04 - 00:20:06
"Oh come on!" the invisible student yelled when several Sovereign ships appear out of nowhere.
"Where did appear?" Shigaraki was shocked, seeing this as the game cheating on its gameplay, to his mind, the game should always let the player win, losing is just the game cheating. And to him, the Sovereign is doing the same.
00:20:06 - 00:20:10
"So all this time they could have easily gone around it!?" Mineta shouted.
"I guess so." Midoriya answered, "but if they have done that, it would make them easily exposed to the several ships, going through the field gave them cover and projectiles, dangerous as it seems."
"They are so screwed…" Kirishima said.
"They are so dead…" Bakugo added.
00:20:10 - 00:20:15
Cries, screams and worries came from the audience, as they watch the Sovereign rain fire at the ship. Many look away, fearing that they will not survive.
"And Drax is still out there!" the Uraraka pointed out. "it would be a miracle if he survives this."
"It would be a miracle if any of them survives this," Iida added.
"That's definitely what they need, ribbit," Asui said.
00:20:15 - 00:20:20
And just what they want, that miracle came.
A bolt of lightning destroyed all the ships that were shooting the Guardian ship.
Leaving utter confusion to everyone in the screen room.
00:20:20 - 00:20:32
"That's what I want to know!" Denki shouted, "the lightning was awesome, but what just happened!?"
00:20:32 - 00:20:37
The scene cuts back to Rocket, who notice a strange white orb floating in space, wondering what it was.
"That must be the one who saved them…" Midoriya muttered, curious as Rocket.
00:20:37 - 00:20:46
"A guy surfing on a big orb." Twice said. "Thanks for saving them. Who are you?"
"I might have an idea," Kurogiri said as he and several other people speculate that it can only be one person, especially when the openings hinted towards a second appearance later in the film.
00:20:46 - 00:20:55
"And managed to not die from the rain fire?" Mineta shouted.
"He does have Endurance, Mineta" Momo pointed out, "it's like Kirishima's hardening, but stronger and permanent."
"Have to agree with that," Kirishima said.
00:20:55 - 00:21:10
"And now Gamora is out there too." Mina said, "trying to get the idiot back inside!"
"A little too late for that," Jiro said, seeing the ship so close to the ground.
00:21:10 - 00:21:20
"And Baby Groot is just chilling eating sweets," Nejire said, finding the short troubling scene a little adorable, giving a little light towards a big situation for the Guardians.
00:21:20 - 00:22:04
The scene and the flight ended with them crashing, with several trees colliding towards the ship, damaging it so much more. Bringing big worries towards the audience.
But even more when they saw Drax getting constantly hit by branches at high speed.
"Okay, he has to die from that." Shigaraki said, "there's no way he's that durable."
"Don't think my hardening can survive that either." Kirishima added, a little shaken to know that there was someone who can take a hit on something he would die from, "he must be much stronger and manlier than me…"
And with that, and the ship crashing and the title reading the name of the planet, the chase was over.
"At least they got away from the gold people…" Mirio tries to think of the good thing about the Guardian's actions.
"Yeah, but now their ship is completely wrecked." Tamaki pointed out just when a wing of the ship collapses.
00:22:04 - 00:22:12
The strong and durable groups in the audience were dumbfounded as they watch Drax laughing and saying how it was awesome after what happened to him.
"Wow…" Present Mic said, "when the cards talk about his durability, they weren't kidding"
"Now I wonder what it takes to kill the guy," Shigaraki said, hating the idea of someone who can take so much pain that they wouldn't die, especially heroes.
Midoriya meanwhile, take notes on how durable Drax was, surprised that he got out of it okay.
00:22:12 - 00:22:25
"She's got a point." Jiro agrees with Gamora, "survival is more important than trying to impress yourselves."
"Style points are worthless," Tokoyami said.
00:22:25 - 00:22:31
"Rather more like being distracted." Asui sighs in frustration, she's already used to Mineta's pervert mind and attempts, even though Quill's is more tamed, he still speak like a pervert.
00:22:31 - 00:22:41
"At this point, Drax is just sticking to the name rather than the actual one." One of the teachers sighs when Drax calls the batteries 'Harbulary' and not 'Anulax'.
Most of the audience agreed with Quill towards this argument, knowing what they seen, everything started because Rocket stolen the batteries.
"Had he haven't done that, then the Sovereign would of let them go and Nebula's bounty would have been collected" Nezu muttered.
00:22:41 - 00:22:48
"And that's why I can't see you as a hero," Aizawa said hearing Rocket's reason to steal batteries. "Villains often do crimes because as Rocket said 'they wanted to,' abusing their powers and going beyond boundaries that they needed to be stopped."
Meanwhile for the villains, while Spinner didn't agree with Rocket's action as a thief, Toga understood the reason, as she once thought about her reason to go down a dark path, but with a clear mind, she realizes her actual reason.
And knowing what she knows, Toga has a feeling that Rocket has a different reason to steal batteries.
00:22:48 - 00:23:20
"After all this time and he still doesn't want to be called a racoon." One of the students said, listening to the two shouting at each other.
While some just want this argument to stop.
00:23:20 - 00:23:27
Then they stop when Nebula pointed out an upcoming ship.
At a glance, the audience knew what the ship was.
"It's the ship with the little man," Mirio said. However a little confused as to why the Guardians are getting ready for a fight since the ship saved them from the Sovereigns.
Then again, heroes need to always be prepared for surprise attacks.
00:23:27 - 00:23:37
"They give all desperation in an attempt to free and flee." One of the teachers said, who knows so much about villains lying to see through Nebula's attempt.
"Yeah, very sure of it." Kurogiri said, "knowing her, she would attack them if they let her go."
00:23:37 - 00:24:08
The following scene shows the oval-shaped ship making a landing, the Guardians look at it as two figures appear, a female in green and a male in grey.
The man was more focused, as many knew who this person would is.
00:24:08 - 00:24:31
With the reveal and confirmation, the audience was mostly surprised. The opening gave it away, but revealing it here was surprising for Peter because it's the moment for the first time he met his father.
"Ego…" Midoriya said the father's name, writing it down on a new page.
"Well… he finally knows who his father is…" Mina said, a little happy towards a family reunion.
Overall, while the reaction is a little mixed, with a few was suspicious towards Ego, most are delighted that the father mystery is now uncovered.
00:24:31 - 00:24:36
However, the reunion was very short as the scene made a sudden change towards a blue planet. A title showed up, revealing the name of the planet as 'Contraxia'.
"Are you kidding me?" Mina complains, "I want to see more of the family reunion, I want to know more about the dad, and who is the green alien lady that's with him?"
"Probably be revealed later, ribbit." Asui reassured her pink friend, "the film is probably showing this planet for a reason."
00:24:36 - 00:25:23
The next scene shows the snowy planet at what seems to be a party with yellow lady robots, already getting attention towards the perverts in the screen room.
There was also a cameo appearance of a character they haven't seen in the previous Guardians film until the end credits.
"Hey, it's Howard." Mirio pointed out, "seems he got out of the Collectors collection and live a full life. Good for him."
"Oh yeah, forgotten about that duck," Nejire said until the scene changes to reveal another person they haven't seen since the previous Guardians film.
A blue man, many knew with his powerful whistle-controlling arrow.
"There's Yondu." Kirishima said, "that explains why the guys at this party are wearing Ravager gear."
This caught the audience's attention as it indicates that the Ravagers will have an importance in the film.
00:25:23 - 00:25:52
Seeing Yondu going outside, he approaches a new person, which Yondu called 'Stakar'.
Upon seeing the Ravager, both Kirishima and Tetsutetsu notice the face, the man looks old, but it was the face they recognize in another film, not one in the MCU reality, but one in a fictional American action film they saw before, an icon of a soldier war hero who is incredibly manly.
They weren't sure if it is him, but it would be cool if it was. For now, they're curious who Stakar was, since Yondu fist chest indicates that he respects him.
00:25:52 - 00:26:15
"100 factions?" Midoriya was surprised to hear that Ravagers has factions, believing that it was just a small mercenary group of criminals.
But what Stakar said reveals that it's an organization dived into factions, probably to cover the galaxy.
And based on his words and his decision not to go to the place anymore, reveals that there has been a distrusting relationship between Yondu's faction and the rest of the other factions.
He makes a note of all of this, as it was new information about the Ravagers he never knew before.
00:26:15 - 00:26:34
"They have a code?" one of the students said when Yondu and Stakar shouted at each other.
"it's common for formed villain groups to have a code," Kurogiri said, "either from their clothes code or setting themselves restrictions for their questionable morals."
"And I guess the Ravager's restriction is to not deal with kids." Nezu said, "which Yondu did broke before."
"Yeah, when he was hired to deliver Peter to his father." Cementoss said, recalling a couple of scenes from the previous film, on how Peter was cargo and how Ego was the one who hired Yondu and his group. "that could be considered dealing with kids. Kidnapping and taking them away from their home, even if the client was a relative."
Hearing this, Momo was curious about one thing about the idea.
"Hey, villains." she started, catching the attention of the League of Villains. "do you have a code?"
The villains remained silent, before Shigaraki's real plan opposing their collective mission to change society, they didn't have a proper code towards the group, they might have said things to what they do and not do, but that's all based on their want to change society and not destroy it, nor wanting to destroy the world nor ruling the world. They're not conquerors and they didn't want to be destructors, they only wanted society to change by using their extreme acts as their messages, originally thinking that Shigaraki's plans are those messages.
Perhaps when everything is done and they leave Shigaraki, they might reorganize into a new group with a proper code, one that would stay true to their goal.
00:26:34 - 00:27:24
Hearing Stakar's words towards Yondu, made a sudden realization and large misinformation towards the truth of the Ravagers, that because Yondu was kidnapping and delivering a kid, he betrayed what the group was supposed to be.
"Wow…" Denki said, a little surprise along with other students "guess he knows how Peter feel when he stabbed the Ravagers in the back…"
And with the other Ravager factions walking away, they see Yondu being very conflicted, showing a mixture of caring and not caring, but mostly caring since he shouted at him in the first place.
"He's an outcast of a criminal organization…" Tokoyami describes the blue man.
00:27:24 - 00:27:41
"Another interesting thing." Midoriya said, putting the additional information of Yondu's faction, "since his betraying, most likely the members who would be willing to betray the Ravager code joined him, despite the result of being exiled along with him."
"But since the events of the previous film, it seems they're starting to see Yondu being a weak leader." Spinner added, "like Shigaraki."
The hand villain growled in anger towards the Stain-lizard, "I swear freak, I will kill you at the end of this."
"Not before I do Stain's job and finish you first…"
00:27:41 - 00:27:52
"At least there's some who doesn't see Yondu becoming soft," Kurogiri said, knowing that there would be some who stay loyal to Yondu.
00:27:52 - 00:28:05
All of the sudden, a familiar group appear out of nowhere, making an incredibly flashy entrance.
"It's the gold people!" Twice pointed out. seeing High Priestess Ayesha trotting as her servant unravel the carpet in front of her, making a seemingly royal entrance.
This was once again
"Now that's incredible," Aizawa said in sarcasm, "never seen someone so egotistical enough to pull this off."
"Yeah, it makes you wonder how long they took to walk all the way here…" Present Mic smiled at the scene.
00:28:05 - 00:28:15
Then laugh along with some in the audience when one of the carpet rollers was stuck, embarrassing herself and annoying Ayesha.
"And they said they genetically made these people in the way they wanted them to be." Aizawa said, "knew there would be so slight major errors."
This caused Present Mic to laugh, even more, thinking of his friend's comment as a joke.
00:28:15 - 00:28:37
"A proposition?" one of the teachers said, "you went all this way, got so many of your people and waste so much time rolling carpet and getting there just to give him a job?"
"These people are high in their asses. Aren't they?" Midnight said, angry towards the priestess.
"You said it," Toga agrees with several nods who didn't like the gold people.
"Knowing Yondu would of accept whatever she's offering, I would find it funny if he said no." Hatsume said, chuckling at her thought, "really shows the b*tch how much they waste her time looking pretty and golden."
00:28:37 - 00:28:49
"That is also what I want to know." Todoroki said when the scene changes back at night time where Ego explains his deal with Yondu, "there's no good reason for Yondu to keep Peter, so why not finish the job?"
00:28:49 - 00:28:57
"And let's not forget they were about to eat him," Compress said.
"Not entirely true, however." Kurogiri said, recalling the real reason, "perhaps they used that excuse to keep him around."
All Might meanwhile, listening to the explanation, on how a criminal uses a kid for their crimes, raising them to be bad. He didn't like the idea.
Turn to see Shigaraki, from their last conversation, he learned that All For One raised him in a time when he had problems, turning him into the person he'd become.
Then again, would it be better for him if he was there? From their conversation, he wasn't sure.
In the end, what AFO did to Shigaraki is similar to what Yondu did to Peter.
00:28:57 - 00:29:27
"At least they mention it!" Compress said, "and again, what he did to Peter is completely awful!"
"Said the guy who can trap people into marbles," Todoroki said.
Hearing Peter's comment towards Yondu, Shigaraki had mixed feelings, he remembers his treatment when All For One came to help him. it wasn't as horrible as his father treated him, but it was tough, when he didn't like doing things, his Sensei claims that it would be all right or that it makes him stronger. Taught him about All Might and Heroes, making him hate them, he wasn't sure where he would be if Senesi didn't come or if a hero showed up before him. probably sent to juvie for what he did, even if he had no control over it.
Was he grateful for having All For One while growing up? Maybe not, but he believes it was the best for him.
00:29:27 - 00:29:42
A few in the audience chuckle when Ego called Rocket a 'triangle-faced monkey' with rocket not offended but touching his nose, which what made it funny.
00:29:42 - 00:30:01
With Ego going to 'take a whiz', there was a mixture towards the father. Most of it being nice, but some are still not trusting the man, though agree that he is Peter's blood relative.
It was them curious about Peter's heritage and the special place. Which will be revealed later in the films. Overall, the audience was okay with the father, and not liking Yondu more because he pretty much kept a child who wasn't theirs, to begin with, and raised him to become a criminal. A tragic life for someone even in their reality.
00:30:01 - 00:30:11
"He's not buying it?" Mina was a little confused, "but he is your father…"
"We know he is, but we don't know what his deal or what he's planning," Asui said, who wasn't sure about Ego, but would see a bit of good in him.
00:30:11 - 00:30:30
While Ego takes a whiz, the scene changes with an interaction of Drax and the girl who was with Ego, now known as Mantis, making a weird smile while saying what she knows about the smile.
This weirded out the audience, except for three.
Midoriya and Mirio, who knew someone who doesn't know how to smile.
Eri can understand what's going on with Mantis, remember when she doesn't know how to smile, it wasn't until later she managed to learn how and she was pleased with what she did.
00:30:30 - 00:30:41
"So until now, she never talked to people?" one of the students said, feeling a little sorry but understand why they were weirded out.
Those with social interaction issues could feel the same for Mantis, though she would be a special case and it shows a bit about where Ego was from. Making them think that it's an isolated planet where there was nobody but him and Mantis.
For those who are unsure about Ego, this brings more suspicions.
00:30:41 - 00:31:14
"Yeah, she certainly never interactive with people before." Hagakure said, as she and the rest of the students were unsettled on how Drax made a practical joke on Mantis and it ends with her laughing that she was almost bitten by Rocket.
"There's socially awkward, socially nervous and then there's… whatever this is…" Tokoyami wasn't sure how to describe Mantis social skills and Mantis overall.
Shy, but willing to interact.
00:31:14 - 00:31:28
"Those can be possibilities," Aizawa said, pleased that Quill is being cautious towards this.
Some, however, did not, though can understand that without clear evidence, it wouldn't be easy for someone to show up, tell them they're their father and them accepting it, just like that. So there would be a state of denial.
00:31:28 - 00:31:31
"Zardu hassle-what now?" Nejire said.
00:31:31 - 00:31:44
Hearing this, they didn't understand what Peter was referring to.
"Is he talking about some old American movie or tv series?" one of the students asked.
"Probably," All Might said, as he hasn't heard of the show and most likely didn't exist in their reality.
(Yes, the Author is suggesting there's no Knight Rider in MHA, probably replaced with something incredibly different if following his timeline headcanon.)
00:31:44 - 00:32:09
Hearing Peter, Midoriya couldn't help but feel similar to him.
Just like Star-Lord, Midoriya grew up without a father and like him, he never got to play catch with him.
For a brief moment, he wondered about who his father was, but shaken the thought as he later learned to move on, he wasn't there to see him grow up so why should he care for him?
This feeling is probably the same reason why Peter is suspicious of Ego.
00:32:09 - 00:32:30
"Fair point." Toga said, "if this dad turns out to be bad, then murdering him is the best way to go."
"a little extreme, but defeating him and stopping his true intentions is best advised," Momo added, seeing Gamora's point aside from the killing part.
Mina meanwhile smiled when she saw Gamora holding Peter's hands and letting go when she notices, "soon you'll be closer." She grins.
00:32:30 - 00:32:34
"He's a racoon!" Eri said, a little annoyed that the people around Rocket are calling him by different animal names instead of his actual animal name, but even that name upsets him.
00:32:34 - 00:32:50
Those who find Groot cute was a little sad when they see Groot sad, but a little happy with how Gamora talks to him, reassuring him that she will be back.
"let's hope nothing bad happens, like Ego turning evil!" Twice interrupted, killing the mood.
00:32:50 - 00:32:59
"More like they complain a lot," All Might muttered, soft for nobody to hear, but enough for Recovery Girl to notice, proceeding to smack All Might with her cane.
"Watch what you say," she said as the blonde hero move his hand on the back of his head after the hit.
00:32:59 - 00:33:19
"Just like Shigaraki over there." Toga points to the angered leader of the League of Villains.
"I don't hate you Rocket," Eri said, holding her plush Rocket toy.
00:33:19 - 00:34:02 (Song: The Chain)
The following scene and song are Peter, Gamora and Drax entering Ego's ship leaving, Rocket, Groot and Nebula at the wrecked ship.
There was also a song being played, a rock song with a good beat, Jiro, along with a few students and teachers ended up nodding their heads towards the drum beats.
The song itself has a mixture of upbeat sadness, but also engaging with the words about never breaking the chain. It wasn't a brilliant song, but it was one that fits well with the scene.
During the scene, there was also a moment where Peter pulls out a piece of paper that has an image of a guy, most of them assume it's the Hasselhoff that Gamora was talking about earlier.
00:34:02 - 00:34:13
"Then you are incredibly lucky till this point," Tokoyami said.
00:34:13 - 00:34:34
"Obviously Peter is going to win that," Asui said, as she indeed sees their question about Mantis' antennae being personal, recalling getting questions about her frog appearance. The other mutant-types also had felt towards their appearance and how people judge them by their looks, making their features feel personal.
But this does bring an interesting question about Mantis as the antennae stand out and probably has a purpose, a few speculated that she has an additional ability, a similarity of a mutant-type quirk.
00:34:34 - 00:34:58
And that speculation comes true, as Mantis explains that she has empathic abilities.
"That's interesting," Midoriya said, writing everything down on his notes, "so it's like an emotional sense quirk, she can feel the same feelings as someone else upon touch."
"It does sound like something that can exist in our reality." Todoroki said, "wouldn't be surprised if there was someone who has the same quirk as Mantis."
00:34:58 - 00:35:11
In her demonstration, the audience watch as she touches Peter's hand and the tips of her antennae lit up.
"Her quirk is activated," Midoriya said, noting down the fact, now knowing that the antennae lits up when she uses her powers.
"I wonder what Peter is feeling…" Nejire said as others lean closer to see what Mantis is feeling through Peter.
00:35:11 - 00:35:15
"Love…" Uraraka said, curious yet cautious, even seeing Peter being a little shocked.
00:35:15 - 00:35:24
"You already have a crush on Mantis?" Denki was a little misinformed by Mantis response.
However, many have a feeling about what Mantis is feeling, causing Mina to smile more and Uraraka to shake a little "please don't tell me…"
00:35:24 - 00:35:27
"Oh my gosh!" Uraraka blushed, a little shocked when Mantis, by a simple touch on Peter's hand knew that he has feelings for Gamora. Making her a little cautious and hoping that she wouldn't meet someone who has a similar quirk to Mantis, one touch from them and she would be embarrassed when they find out her true feelings towards a certain boy that made her heart twist in love.
"That is such a powerful quirk to find crushes!" Mina said, causing Uraraka to cover her face.
00:35:27 - 00:35:40
Then a mixture of laughter and confusion when Drax reacted in exaggerated laughter, laughing madly and pointing at Peter.
The audience were either couldn't react much or chuckle with Drax.
Mina especially joined in with the laughter.
00:35:40 - 00:35:59
"Agree…" Aizawa said, having a big headache from this with Mantis joining in with the laughter when she touches Drax and felt his laughter.
00:35:59 - 00:36:06
"Yeah, best to not use it on Gamora," Jiro said as the laughter died out.
Overall, Mina loved Mantis in this film, as her time already revealed a ship that she wanted since she saw the two together listening to 'fool around and fell in love.
She can even see her being her horn buddy, even if Mantis has antennae and not horns.
00:36:06 - 00:36:38
"So it's not just touching feelings." Midoriya peaked up, interested when Mantis explain another use of her power, "she can alter someone' feelings for a short while, along with making them fall asleep… this is good power and has many potential uses for a hero, especially for both villain attacks and rescue operations, it can calm down a rampaging villain or cheer up a frightened innocent. It might not help in physical strength, but has potential for so many other…"
"I know you haven't mutter in a while, but please shut up!" Bakugo shouted at Izuku. "and who gives a sh*t about calming down villains?"
"Well… it would… cease further destruction…" Midoriya stuttered in fear.
"The only way to stop a villain is by beating them," Bakugo said.
"I'm sure for the most part… but there can be other ways…"
"What did I say Deku!" Bakugo interrupted, "shut it or you'll die!"
Midoriya remained silent, not wanting to anger his best friend.
00:36:38 - 00:36:50
"That was instant…" Sero said, surprised by how quick Mantis made Drax sleep.
"Following on by Midoriya," Momo said, "a quirk like that can also be useful to make villains pass out. enough time to restrain them."
"Sounds like a powerful quirk." One of the students said, which most didn't realize how someone who can feel and alter emotions can be powerful.
"That being said, it would be hard for someone like that to touch a villain in that situation." Momo added, bringing up con with an empathic power, "they have to be fast and reactive."
With that, the audience had thoughts on Mantis and her powers, finding it interesting, with her sleep abilities explain why she was with Ego. An indication that he isn't much of a sleeper that she needs Mantis to help him rest. Making most of them think that Mantis, though shy and not understanding much, very kind as well.
00:36:50 - 00:37:16
The scene returns to the crashed ship at night, with music that was so faint, Jiro couldn't make thought towards, it.
But suspected the song to go louder, as she and the rest of the audience saw a couple of familiar figures.
"Looks like the Ravagers found the ship." All Might said.
"I wonder…" Nezu spoke in through, having a feeling that the racoon is going to outsmart the mercenaries.
00:37:16 - 00:37:35
Everyone, especially Koda, was frightened when they saw a spider and one of the Ravagers eating said the spider. "That is so gross!" Uraraka said.
Asui was completely unfazed by the spider-eating and focused more on the number of Ravagers that surround the ship.
00:37:35 - 00:37:52
A little worried for Rocket and Groot, they were confused when the one who ate the spider step on a red light, then suddenly knock out darks fired on them.
Nezu was delighted by the design and liked how Rocket planned for an ambush, if he was in Rocket's shoes, he suspects ambushers to come and he would have been ten steps ahead of them thanks to his high specs.
Now more excited to see more.
"The predator becomes the prey," Tokoyami said.
00:37:52 - 00:38:00
"The voice was a decoy," one of the teachers pointed out, "probably intentional to lure them into his traps."
00:38:00 - 00:38:24
The following scene starts with Rocket giving away his position, with the Ravagers shooting him.
"Good." Nezu smiled, "he's making them stop by their tracks."
"But isn't that bad?" one of the students asked the principal.
"Not if they're in the right spot."
00:38:24 - 00:38:57 (Song: Southern Nights)
And as the mouse-bear principal expected, Rocket activates the trap, what he didn't expect was what the trap was.
To his surprise, along with others, it was gravity pushing mines, lifting them above and plummet to the ground.
"That certainly knock them out," Kirishima said, right when Rocket activates another mine and flew another group of Ravagers in the air as the song becomes clearer.
"Now this song makes this so joyful," Mina said, smiling and chuckling towards the bad guys getting flung in the air and back to the ground, even the villains love the scene as they found it hilarious, though tedious if it happens to them.
Jiro listened to the sound, and it was good music towards a soft country-rock, music that fits with someone having fun while the bad guys are getting hurt or to have a dance with.
Nezu was joyed towards seeing this, seeing bad humans and some aliens getting hurt all thanks for an animal like himself. He even ended up moving along with the music as he watches Rocket's actions.
00:38:57 - 00:39:23
The next scene showcases more of Rocket being a step ahead, with another group of Ravagers trying to seek him out, only for him to jump on each of them and attach something on their heads, after going through all of them, he activates the devices and everyone was electrocuted.
"Damn!" Mina said, turning to the electrical person she knows "he's making your electricity look bad in comparison."
Denki had to agree, if he would do the same, he has to be in the middle of the group and charge enough to stun them, not accounting for them getting out of the way or shooting him after he appears.
Nezu saw Denki pondering and smiled, happy to know that Rocket is showing them ideas and possibilities, as he does feel these films are showcasing what it takes to be heroes. with Rocket being the one he learns from as they share similar backgrounds
00:39:23 - 00:39:38
"Guess he didn't plan ahead," Cementoss said when two ravagers come out of both sides. Making the audience a little worried for Rocket.
Nezu was the only one on the hero side that wasn't worried, as he expects Rocket to have a plan.
00:39:38 - 00:39:51
"Small sizes do have their advantages," Nezu said, pleased towards Rocket's fast action that knocked both of them.
"Agreed," the short student said, not just thinking about being a smaller and faster target for villains but other reasons.
00:39:51 - 00:40:00
But with a whistle, many jumped in surprise, knew what's going to happen before they saw it. The one big problem that came to their heads made them wonder how Rocket was going to counter it.
But unfortunately, he didn't take it into account.
With the arrow shown and pointed at Rocket, many knew that Rocket's plan failed and he can do anything since the arrow can easily kill him.
This made Nezu smile faded. Even with his high specs, he has no possible way to counter the arrow and would too go in a dead end.
The principal sighs, "oh well… it was fun while it lasted."
00:40:00 - 00:40:23
"And she doesn't want to do it personally because she thinks too high to herself." One of the students said, hearing the summarized reason Yondu and his gang is after the Guardians.
00:40:23 - 00:40:36
The scene made a sudden cut, with Nebula telling Groot to free her, saying that if he doesn't, they will kill Rocket.
The audience knew what she would do, but know that Groot was too young and innocent to follow her word.
"Don't do it…" Uraraka muttered, hoping for the blue villain to still be restrained even if the Ravagers take away Rocket, but even then, it would have been more difficult for Groot alone to deal with the mercenaries.
There was no other choice.
00:40:36 - 00:40:43
"Hold it…" Midoriya said, a little confused, "all this time, they could of easily track and find the ship at any given moment?"
This made Midoriya a little curious, seeing how the Ravagers have many reasons to kill the Guardians, mostly due to the Guardians breaking the deal when they did a switch-a-roo with the orb. Even with Yondu threatening to hunt down Peter if he double-crosses him.
So that leaves him a question, why now instead of before?
The only answer Midoriya could come up with was that he was waiting till someone hired him to hunt the Guardians, that way he can earn profit out of it.
He was eager to listen to Yondu, having a feeling that there is more to his relationship with Peter.
00:40:43 - 00:41:01
"Wait… so they're not going to take in the Guardians?" one of the students were confused.
"Maybe the batteries are worth more than their bounty," Momo suggested.
00:41:01 - 00:41:06
"Oh…" Momo said when the ugly looking Ravager said that the bounty was higher.
Then cringe when he gave off bad math.
00:41:06 - 00:41:14
"Oh, my goodness," Momo facepalms along with the smart parts of the group.
"Geez," Denki said, "even I know a quarter is half of a half."
Momo moans hearing the electrical idiot, "close enough…"
00:41:14 - 00:41:23
"He does have a point." Spinner said, "since the Guardians saved their planet, they wouldn't be happy if something bad happens to them unless they break the law again and most likely go after the killer."
"At least Yondu is the smartest in the group." Monoma said, "Probably the only one keeping his group from tearing each other apart."
00:41:23 - 00:41:38
Though it was hinted before, Kraglin speaking up gave the audience a little feeling of mistrust for the Ravager group, with him speaking out that would tip them off the edge.
Kurogiri sighs, knowing about villain groups falling out, either over greed or choice in leadership. Already seen at the cinema with the remaining members planning to leave the group once they return to their reality. Knowing Shigaraki, he would attempt to kill them, if that happens, he would be the one to calm him down, as he was his assistant and he would remain loyal to him.
But for Yondu's case, with Kraglin seeming to be Yondu's first mate, a similar position to Kurogiri's and now he's upset with his leader.
Something he wouldn't do unless Sensei told him to.
00:41:38 - 00:41:49
"And so the falling out of thieves and killers begin…" Tokoyami, seeing the Ravagers pointing their weapons at each other.
00:41:49 - 00:41:58
"Better to get out of dodge and watch the baddies kill each other." Toga said, hoping for a bloodbath between the Ravagers.
00:41:58 - 00:42:08
The audience was getting ready for the mercenaries to fight each other, knowing Yondu, they expect him to be the sole survivor in this battle due to his arrow.
But a surprise attack occurs and knocking out the thing on his head that controls the arrow, taking him out of the battle before it even begins.
The shooter reveals to be Nebula.
"Well… that's one…"
00:42:08 - 00:42:13
"Never mind…" Hatsume said when Nebula stuns Rocket as well. Most expected her to do this, knowing that she would rather help the ravagers than go against them since they outnumbered her.
"Now half of the Guardians are in deep trouble," Midoriya said, curious to see what will happen to Rocket, Groot and Yondu since most of the group is turning against him.
00:42:13 - 00:42:27
"Gamora and Drax did warn you." Present Mic pointed out as Nebula spat out the fruit. "Should of follow their advice."
With that, things are interesting for the space criminal heroes in the MCU. half of them captured by the Ravagers while the other half is going to Ego's planet, making them think this would be a split story for the group. With one side going see what Peter's father has in store while the other half has to deal with mercenaries.
Overall, they were glad that they get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy once more, as it shows more sci-fi space adventure than superheroes. Sometimes they forget that they are even part of the MCU as the look and places are so different and alienated. But were designed that way since it takes place away from Earth.
In their part of their adventure, things are setting up and there are still many questions, mostly for Peter's Father, making them wonder who he is and why after all this time, he showed up. They have yet thought of an answer, but the ones who have a bad feeling towards Ego are suspicious.
For now, they resume watching the film to see what happens next, if there was one thing they all can agree on.
Baby Groot is adorable.
To be continued…
