Chapter 13

GOTHAM CITY- UPPER EAST SIDE

APRIL 5TH 2008 2000-(8:00 PM) EST

Catwoman POV:

She had only been out and about for a few hours.

She was thankful that her suit clung to her like a second skin, the material matching the ebb and flow of every movement she made as she jumped from rooftop to rooftop.

She'd be lying if she told anyone that she hadn't missed it…the thrill of being suited up.

It had been months since she'd last been in the outfit, and now that she was in it again it felt like coming home.

She had taken a break after giving the Bat the slip once again, though the most recent time had been bitter sweet for her.

She could feel it and knew that on some level he did too…the attraction.

But she knew that neither one of them could afford to let said attraction bind them, because the fact of the matter was that they were just too different.

She'd be the first to admit that she was in this life for herself, and that while she may do some good things for others or for good causes she knew that she could never classify herself as a strictly good person.

At least not for the sake of being good anyway, and certainly not for the same odd self-sacrificing justice that He seemed to do it.

The two of them had been all passion, nothing but the raw fire of whatever their fling could be called; because she'd call it a fling outright but the fact was that it had felt like so much more than just that. It had started out as a game, a challenge. But then it had changed, and she'd be damned if she didn't admit that she liked it.

But it couldn't continue on as it had… and so she had gone on holiday, put herself in a self-imposed sabbatical mode.

She hadn't stolen anything or even plotted a heist the whole time she had been away, hell she hadn't even really considered it even once.

Not that she needed to at this point, as she had more than enough money hidden away and a small team making her more money all the time on top of that.

The fact of the matter stood that Selina Kyle was a reputable animal rights activist specifically for big cats alongside all other feline species, and was also quite the successful investor, and rare artifact collector.

She was good at what she did and was lauded as a rising star… and very soon as things stood her name would be solidified as one of if not the greatest of contributors from the U.S. to the fact that many big cat species the world over that stood on the precipice of extinction would have a fighting chance to Continue said existing.

Over the years Selina had done many disreputable things, but because of them she was able to break free of the way her life had been. It had afforded her a far better life than the one she had been handed from the get go.

Her mother had committed suicide when she was five after her father had been sent to and died in prison for armed robbery, and life after that had been a relatively constant spiral downward.

The group home that she had been sent to had been where she would get her first taste of what she became good at, which in retrospect was funny as she became good at what her father had failed at…robbery.

The matron of the home had employed all of the kids in some way, and she had learned exactly how terrible that was as she had gotten older and developed.

Needless to say Selina had been through many things in her life but there was one thing for certain, her early life had given her the skills she needed to excel.

She had turned her trauma along with some other skills that she had picked up on her own, and turned herself into the famed cat burglar that had prowled Gotham for nigh on five years.

Right now… she was using said skills to traverse Gotham City.

Why? Quite Simple.

Earlier she had received a call from her on and off again ward Holly Robinson.

Holly had been finally getting ready to pack it in and leave Gotham for good, as she was quite tired of the life of being a young escort.

Prostitution while not exactly legal in Gotham, was not something a vast majority of Gotham's police force prioritized as something needing to be curtailed.

Selina in her own time being a part of it, had also come to the crossroads like Holly and had simply decided that she wanted to take back from some of the people who had taken from her.

Holly too had come to the crossroads and had decided that enough was enough, as she was sixteen and tired of the lot life had given her and had decided that she needed to leave and start fresh.

'Crazy girl should have left the first time I asked her to.'

Unfortunately life it seemed had other plans.

Leading up to the fact that Holly while she was on the phone with Selina had been taken.

Fortunately though Holly had had company at the time of her taking, and the girl was smart enough to come up with a way to keep Selina on her trail.

Holly had been carting Selina's newest cat 'Smokey' with her as she had volunteered to watch said cat for her, and had used that fact to her advantage as she placed the small ruby encrusted bracelet Selina had given her around Smokey's collar before she was taken.

Selina had tracked the chip she had on Smokey, and had saved said cat from the literal dive it had taken off the connector bridge that lead into the area of Gotham's Upper East Side.

After saving said cat she had gotten a look at the limo that the two wanna be gangsters that had tried to kill Smokey had gotten into, and knew she had to follow if she wanted to get answers as to where Holly was.

It hadn't been easy, but she had followed after them.

Selina finally landed on what felt like her hundredth rooftop of this chase and slowly made her way closer to the front of it as she caught sight of said limo stopping, and when she saw who got out she felt the blood in her veins go cold.

Cyrus DiMaggio also known on the streets as 'Rough Cut' stepped out of the limo, and instead of just the two goons that she had seen get into said limo out stepped six goons in total putting their total number to seven.

Catwoman knew that she was a beyond competent fighter but the fact of the matter stood that she wasn't bulletproof and seven guns was a lot of potential bullets to try and dodge, even for her.

Even if she could somehow take down a few of them, they had a far greater chance of being able to get away from her and that would not do.

And that was if she didn't wind up having to fight all of the lackeys, only to wind up finding herself too winded or even possibly too wounded and having to then deal with Cyrus himself.

Rough Cut was known for being a smuggler, and he smuggled all kinds of goods in and out of Gotham. He had done three small stints in Blackgate penitentiary, but always somehow found himself back on the street working a hustle again in short order.

How that came to be Selina didn't know, but she did know that Rough Cut was a serious problem. Selina used one of the few bits of tech she had, her green lensed spy goggles; to get a closer look at her target.

Rough Cut stood at 6'8 and was as wide as a linebacker on a professional football team. The crimson suit jacket and pants he was wearing clearly custom made to match his formidable size. His dress shirt and shoes were midnight black, as well as his belt sans the gleaming silver buckle.

Rough Cuts long blonde hair was slicked back, showing his pinched expression. He had a relatively clear complexion, though it showed that he was actually a rather 'rough' looking guy. His large forehead was on display, it being one of his more notable features as it was so prominent.

His dark grey eyes were set above a large nose, both of those things sitting high up on his face over his extremely wide and square jaw.

Rough Cuts most distinctive feature besides his overall size however…was his teeth.

She hadn't had the chance to meet him herself in person, (thank heavens for that) but had heard the stories. He had had all of his normal teeth removed and replaced with ones that were made out of artificial diamond.

Some people would consider Rough Cut small time, though no one she could think of would have the gall to say it to the man's face. He was after all well-known not for just the fact that he was a smuggler, but a cold blooded killer as well.

The stories had circulated that he'd killed seven other inmates since his stays in the fabled prison of Gotham, and the stories varied some of them even claiming that he had done all seven of those killings while in his first stint and that he hadn't suffered any consequences from it.

That line of thought alone being enough to send a nasty tingle down Selina's spine, as those were just the killings that were known about. Rough Cut most probably had a tally list longer than both of his arms.

They were currently more towards the South of Upper East End, and that is what made where her current mark was going possible…The Kitty Corner.

The Kitty Corner was an upscale Gentlemen's club, and was one of the finer establishments for such a thing in Gotham even though it was as close to Southern Gotham as it was.

The outside of the Kitty Corner was immaculate grey stone, all looking as if it was made from one piece. The old time theatre box where you paid for admission giving a unique feeling, as if you'd stepped back in time. The windows that were on the place were made of stained glass, made up of all different colors causing flashes of rainbow to glow outward when they were struck by any light. The neon lights above said establishment were ever flashing, revealing a beautiful woman in the transition between positions on a stripper pole as it flashed beneath the pink luminescent glow of the titled words of the building.

The glowing white movie board displays beneath spelled out "Buttermilk Skye", a visiting adult film star who had risen to fame and had actually gotten her start here in Gotham at the corner.

Rough Cut and his goons had already passed through one set of the double doors that would lead inside and Selina knew for a fact that if she tried to do this on her own, one way or the other she would most probably fail.

'Not an option.' Selina thought as she started to pace back and forth on the concrete roof, doing her best not to think the worst of what could have already befallen Holly.

She knew she needed a plan, but she wasn't sure which would lead to a good outcome for Holly.

She could simply phone in an anonymous tip to the cops, but that would most likely either yield no results or unfavorable ones. She wanted to just go for it herself, but she had already weighed her options and again the number of men Rough Cut had with him gave her pause.

This would be one of the few times that she could honestly say she wished she could contact Batman as he would probably have no problem helping her handle this. Though the second the thought hit she dismissed it as she had no way of contacting him outside of committing a crime in the hopes that it would get his attention and fast.

But then a flash past through her mind, because the fact was Batman wasn't the only available option. Gotham had had a Superhero long before Batman, and she just so happened to have his number on speed dial.

Selina knew that her and Ted's relationship was far from normal, and that was only taking into account the fact that he actually knew that she was Catwoman.

Selina had been beaten by her one time pimp way back in the day, but luckily for her and unluckily for said pimp Ted had been right around the corner when said beating had commenced.

There would be no point in saying that she hadn't been hurt badly because she had been, the encounter leaving her with a deviated septum, a crack in the left side of her jaw, three broken ribs on her right side, and a broken left wrist.

She could honestly say that till this day the memory of that man evoked not only a burning fury in her gut but a slight chill in her spine, as that was not the first time he had visited that kind of pain upon her.

One important thing to note however, was that that day was the very last.

Ted had rounded the corner as her pimp had just finished spitting on her downed form, and while she hadn't been conscious to see what had happened she had heard the stories from the other girls she knew back then.

He'd never walk again, and he had spent the next twelve weeks breathing and eating through tubes.

Ted hadn't just stopped there either, as when she had recovered enough to leave the hospital he had been there to take her to her then dingy apartment not even four blocks from Ted's Gym.

From that point forward for quite a time the two of them had been inseparable.

Ted took her under his wing, and helped spearhead not only her recovery but her tutelage.

"You'll never have to worry about a man puttin his hands on you again…I promise you that."

She could still hear his voice as clear as the day he'd spoken those words when she closed her eyes, and it never failed to fill her stomach with warmth.

After a short time during that period, she had come to start to think that maybe she had feelings for Ted. But eventually those feelings faded and in their place she felt something she hadn't felt since she was a small child; the love one has for a parent.

Ted had stepped in and filled a role she hadn't ever thought would be filled, as he became a second father to her.

He not only taught her how to fight, not only helped coach her through her gymnastics, but also helped coach her through moving on into a new stage of her life. He helped her learn basic life skills she had never had the chance to learn before, and she was eternally grateful for it.

They had fought back and forth for some time when he had found out she was Catwoman, but strangely enough he had never once threatened to go to the cops. He would simply argue with her when he would see her after a heist, stating that he was worried about her wellbeing and that he'd be very upset with her if he wound up having to come visit her in prison.

Things were different now though, as Ted also knew that she was on her self-imposed sabbatical and that she hadn't committed a crime in quite some time.

She was simply hoping that Ted would be willing to suit up and help her take these goons down so that she could save Holly.

Selina quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Ted, the phone only ringing twice before he picked it up.

"Hello?" Ted asked as he answered sounding slightly distracted.

"Teddy Bear! How are you?"

"Selina. You're back in town? When'd ya get in? How've ya been girl?"

"Ted, Listen. I wanna catch up I really do. But I need your help first. My girl Holly's been taken, and I've got a way to find her. I've tracked the scumbags who most probably took her but there's a few more of these guys then I'd like to face alone in the more public setting their in. What do you say to throwing on the duds for old time sake and helping this kitty cat get her kitten back?" Selina said as she did her best to keep the existing worry and anxiety out of her voice, trying to keep the more playful demeanor she typically put off more prominently.

"Selina…I don't know."

That…was not the answer she had been hoping for.

"Ted Please. If I don't get her back, God only knows what'll happen to her." Selina said as she let just the slightest bit of worry seep into her voice.

"Yeah I get it. Look… Selina, I'm retired you know that."

"Are you kidding me Ted?! This is me we're talking about! Holly's Life that we're talking about!" Selina said as she started to raise her voice, now letting some of the mounting frustration she was feeling to bleed through. This wasn't the reaction she'd expected…especially not from Ted.

"Sigh."

"Oh don't you give me that old tired man routine…" Selina said as she shifted into a now more decidedly hostile tone as she tried to sway Ted to help her.

"Look…Would ya listen to me?"

"Ted I Need Help here!"

"…There may be something I can do. Let me call ya back."

"Sigh…okay Teddy bear. I'll wait but I can't wait long. I'll talk to you in a bit."

"Okay, Bye."

As soon as the phone beeped signaling the calls end Selina began to pace again, feeling a mounting pressure in her gut. She quickly realized that she had been so caught up in trying to get Ted's help, that when he said that there may be something he could do she had forgotten to ask what he meant by that.

She kept pacing for what was starting to feel like over half an hour, when in reality it had only been about five minutes when the phone went off in her hand.

"Teddy Bear?"

"Selina I want you to stay on the line for a few minutes for me. I've got your help incoming." Ted said with what sounded like a smile if his tone was anything to go by.

Selina felt herself confused and hopeful all at once as she tried to listen in on the background on Ted's end, trying to listen if he was moving or not as she figured he was now in route to her himself.

She then quickly realized that she hadn't told Ted where she was, and brought it up but was surprised by the response she got.

"Ted wait you don't even know where I am how are you gonna help me?"

"Ha! First off I know exactly where you are girly, you think I can't track a phone? Secondly I already told ya I'm retired. But that doesn't mean that I don't know a guy!" Ted said with what had to be a shit eating grin as he sounded quite happy in his proclamation.

Selina found herself in the midst of attempting to formulate a response of some kind to that, as she listened to Ted's slight chuckling.

When silence settled upon the line she started to feel uncomfortable but Ted cut her off by saying that her help was nearby and she wanted to ask him more before the line cut, whether it be to ask how he knew how to track where she was, or as to who this so called help was.

She needn't have asked anything though because the sound of another pair of feet landing on the rooftop caused her to drop the phone and put herself into a defensive stance, immediately thinking it was Batman and that she'd have to defend herself.

Once she had a moment to take in who was standing before her though she was tremendously surprised.

Gotham's newest hero was standing opposite her on the roof and if she was being honest, he was a bit shorter than she thought he'd be.

Overall All Might looked just as she'd seen from the news clippings she'd glanced at, as well as the clips she'd seen of him on the internet, or even the footage that aired on the news. His outfit while not overly bulky showed that it granted personal safety, while maintaining a great deal of functionality. On his back was the same shield that she had heard he used to great effect in taking down criminals.

He was of the same height with her at the very least, that or he was just slightly taller than her though she had thought he was much taller. His posture seemed relatively relaxed, though she could tell from his right hand that he was slightly anxious as he seemed to be flexing it ever so slightly; showing that he was either feeling a bit of discomfort or was simply coming down from the adrenaline high of having to get to her from wherever he had been.

"Catwoman. I understand you need some help?"

"…"

It took everything she had, but she eventually lost the fight and started to laugh.

Granted it wasn't hysterical laughter or anything like that, but she definitely had no qualms about laughing in his face at the slightly overly dramatic voice he had thrown out. She had heard him over the recordings she'd seen, but it was a whole other thing to have him directly speaking to you in the clearly fake tone he was using.

All Might was either doing his best to emulate someone he had heard talk like that, or was simply worried that his voice would be recognized by someone in his personal life and was taking this as a step to keep others from recognizing him.

'Smart. But still…very goofy.'

He had already changed his posture and she could tell that he was clearly in a mixture of being put out and annoyed, and while that in itself was funny in its own right as she loved getting under people's skin she actually needed him at the moment; so she decided to reign in her laughter and took a few steps forward and stuck out her right hand to shake his hand.

She noticed him eye her hand as she had stuck it out and while part of her wanted to be offended at his hesitance, the other part of her was impressed. She could tell it wasn't fear that was holding him back, but the fact that he was trying to get a read on her intentions.

Clearly he understood that she was to be taken seriously as he was questioning if she had an ulterior motive to the exchange, and if he had been anyone else she would have been doing just that.

But fortunately for him, he was her out of a bad set of odds so he'd get the freebie of her not actually messing with him like she had done many times to Batman.

After a few moments of eyeing her and her hand he finally reached forward and clasped hands with her. Once he did she was able to study his face a bit more and gauge him from his handshake, and it was in that moment that it had hit her.

She recognized the jawline, the slightly slim nose, and the dark brown eyes.

"…Jack?!" Selina asked not being able to keep the incredulity out of her voice.

'All Might' let go of her hand as if he'd been scalded by hot water, and was obviously trying but failing to keep his visage calm.

"…I don't know anyone named Jack Catwoman."

"…Really? The helm doesn't cover you're whole face kid. I may have only gotten to spend so much time with you but I know your looks, and I definitely know your voice." Selina said as she crossed her arms slightly under her bust and leaned on her left leg cocking her right hip outward as she looked in the young Hero's eyes.

If she wasn't going off of all the things she just listed, his reaction to her shift in her stance did the trick. Jack turned slightly to keep himself from ogling her, as clearly the kid was a hot blooded male and he was doing his absolute best to be respectful and not stare at her body.

'Still easy to tease. Gotta love it.'

Her wearing the skin tight leather outfit did not make avoiding looking at her an easy thing, for anyone especially a hot blooded young male.

'Definitely him. All manners this one.'

All Might had moved his sight and the moment his vision had landed on the Kitty Corner she could see a change come over him, his jaw setting into a firm line and his eyes going cold.

Clearly the kid standing before her deserved some of the chatter she had heard picking up through her underworld contacts, as when he turned back and faced her fully his face and tone(while no longer in the overly dramatic voice) were both hard as stone.

"Yeah it's me. But we can worry about that part later. Right now you need help right? So walk me through this, what's going on and how can I help?"

His voice had come out steady, and he was no longer fidgeting at all. She had to admit she was impressed as she had expected him to try and keep up the act or even try an throw her off, but instead he had just went with it…which showed that at the very least he had spirit.

She'd have to sit down with the kid and Ted eventually to get the whole story.

But at the moment she was just happy to be bringing someone on board, especially since said person being brought on board had defeated two of Batman's rogue's in single combat. Not to mention that he clearly had already dealt with armed gunmen during the bank heist he'd debuted dealing with, it left her more than confident that he'd be able to help her settle the situation.

"Well... we're dealing with a pretty serious thug. His name is Rough Cut…"

GOTHAM CITY- KITTY CORNER

APRIL 5TH 2008 20:45

Rough Cut's POV:

Cyrus DiMaggio aka Rough Cut was in a pretty foul mood. Earlier with taking that little broad who had seen his boys taking two of the other girls that he was shipping out had thrown a wrench into his plans, though if he was honest it was gonna work out in the end so he was doing his best to relax.

'That sheikh said he liked em young, so I guess I'll get that bonus after all.' Rough Cut thought as he passed into the strip club.

His mood was why he had come into the Kitty Corner, even though he knew he had a shipment of girls going out tonight; he needed this…a small distraction.

'Besides maybe I can grab another one for the next shipment.' Rough Cut thought as he and his boys walked through to head towards the front table nearest to the front of the stage where the main stripper pole was.

Rough Cut had been through a lot in his 28 years of life, and at the moment he was just glad to finally be getting his business back in order. The diamonds that he was having shipped in from Southern Africa were coming at a decent rate and were allowing him to build up his start up capitol again, and since he had met his new contact from France he had started his new operation with pulling girls off the street.

It was giving him more business then he'd ever had, and he was seeing plenty of return for it.

Gotham was a big city after all and there were more than enough 'working' girls with no one waiting for them at home at night for him to take, allowing him to build his revenue even faster so that he could climb the ladder and get to where he wanted to be.

At the very top.

Right now the foul mood he was in was mostly attributed to the fact that once again Turk Barret, Black Masks little errand boy had come calling. The Mask thought he was big shit and that he was gonna rule Gotham's underbelly with an iron fist, but to do that he needed everyone else to fold in.

'Fat chance I'll be folding in to that deformed freak any time soon.'

Rough Cut wasn't dumb, and he knew for a fact that he wasn't the only hold out. Old Sal Valestra had told Mask to go pound salt, and there was no way in hell that Rough Cut was gonna get outdone by that old bastard. Valestra and his toadies were old school, and while he too thought they needed to be put out to pasture he could at the very least admit he respected the old man's spine.

He had done the same too, even going as far as to tell Barret that he'd kill him if he didn't fuck off and that he'd make sure that he'd get sent back to his boss in bits and pieces.

The piss ant had taken off real quick after that, though that's when shortly after they'd run into the issue of the little red headed broad with the cat; and that had given him a whole other headache.

The last thing he needed was someone finding said cat and having a clue that the owner of the bracelet around the cats neck was missing. Rough Cut knew it was a long shot but he didn't wanna take any chances.

They'd made it to the front and one of his boys had kicked the schmuck out of the chair at the front table, and thankfully it had been just in time.

Buttermilk Skye was on stage.

She stood at around 5'7 thanks to the three inch cherry red heels she had on her feet, which accentuated her lace underwear and pantie combo nicely. She had curves in the perfect places and was buxom as all hell, and Rough Cut liked it.

She had already done a few spins and turned and climbed up the stripper pole, and then fallen only to catch herself with her legs. The girl was talented, her blonde hair and light grey eyes being offset by the cherry red lipstick she had on.

He couldn't keep his eyes off her and smirked when she bent over at the waist as she took her top off. She had a nice pair of cans on her and he hoped that when he nabbed her for a private dance in a bit she'd be more than agreeable to him.

She then approached the table and did a small gyrate routine right in front of him, before she made her way back on stage to work the pole and finish her song. He went ahead and tossed her one of the diamonds from inside his jacket pocket and took in the small coy smile she put on her face as she did a full split to pick it up.

He'd enjoy taking her for a ride before he sent her packing off with the rest, and couldn't help but run his tongue over his teeth again as he thought about it.

The song had ended and it had been a few moments and Skye had already flittered off stage and it took a few seconds but the music hadn't started up yet, and Rough Cut was starting to get impatient. He wanted to see the next girl and see if she was worth his time, maybe giving him a chance for a two for one deal along with Skye.

The lights finally started to dim and then the larger spot lights clacked on and centered on the entrance to the stage, and there he saw her. She was a sight to behold, decked out in what had to be the most convincing cosplay of Catwoman he'd ever seen.

The girl was fit and lithe and busty, the suit clinging to her body perfectly leaving almost nothing to the imagination and yet covering up all the good parts leaving him and everyone else wanting more if the applause was anything to go by.

She danced around the pole and smirked and then her deft looking fingers went to the black loop ring at the center of her suit and started to slide downward, revealing the expanse of her cleavage and almost letting her breasts out for all to see.

She had reached into her suit and actually pulled out a whip wrapping it around her neck pulling the suit slightly taught at the top, which gave her the chance to bend over at the waist pressing her lower back and full looking ass against the stripper pole.

She was in the midst of bending over to give everyone an even better look at her chest and Rough Cut started to lick at his teeth for what felt like the tenth time tonight, he definitely wanted to get his hands on this one.

'This broad and Skye might be better suited as pets for myself.' Rough Cut thought as he eyed the woman up.

His plans would be all for naught though as he heard a small shout towards the entrance, and though he decided to ignore it he couldn't ignore the fact that two of his guys had been hit by something and thrown out of their seats onto the floor around the table a second later.

He also couldn't ignore that it was the cat bitch that had used that as a chance to use her whip to lash two of his guys in the face, knocking them backwards and out of their chairs.

He also couldn't ignore the fact that one of his guys had pulled his piece and tried to draw it on the broad but had had it knocked out of his hand by her whip and that shortly after he had been sent bodily into his last guy and that both had flown into another table and stayed on the ground.

Rough Cut did his best to keep his cool though he felt a scowl wanting to break out on his face, and looked up at the broad who was obviously the real Catwoman; who had now shot the piece that she'd stolen into the ceiling said shots scaring the rest of the patrons and the workers out of the strip club.

Turning his eyes to the left to see if any of his guys were still conscious is what brought him the biggest surprise he'd had all day though, because standing there was All Might the new hero of Gotham; and he was standing with his right foot on one of his downed guys with his shield in his left hand as green lightning danced around him.

'They took all my guys down. They planned this. That little bitch isn't worth all this god damn trouble.' Rough Cut thought as he turned his eyes back towards Catwoman.

"Somthin I can do for you Pussy Cat?" Rough Cut asked as he tried to keep All Might in his vision while talking to the cat burglar.

Catwoman reached into her suit again with one hand while the other went back into the metallic ring and pulled up, closing the suit as she pulled out the damn glittering gold bracelet that had been on the cat that had clearly (not been iced) gotten away.

"I'm looking for the owner of this." Catwoman said as put the bracelet slightly forward, her eyes narrowing into slits behind the green lenses of her goggles.

'God dammit.' Rough Cut thought as he looked her dead in the eyes.

He tried his best to weigh his options but the fact of the matter was that All Might was already standing here and the bitch had probably already told him enough to make sure that he'd be going back to jail in short order.

'Might as well just let it play out. I ain't goin back without a fight.'

"Never seen it before." Rough Cut said placing a small sneer on his face.

The whip was fast and he hadn't seen it, but he did feel it as it wrapped tightly around his neck before he was pulled down forcefully onto the table as Catwoman stepped one foot onto it anchoring the whip under her foot.

"Take a closer look!" Catwoman said as she leaned down to look him in the eye and make him take a look at the bracelet.

'She knows. Fuck it.' Rough Cut thought as he slammed his palms on the edge of the table causing it to lift and make the cat broad jump back up and onto the stripper pole clinging to it.

He went to take the chair he'd been sitting in and toss it at the pole after the broad but it wasn't to be.

He watched as All Might's shield actually collided with the chair and carried it off course away from the stage, and the second he'd turned to try and catch sight of All Might... he did.

But now All Might was standing right in front of him and the kick that caught him square in his chest took him off of his feet sending him flying over another chair onto his back, knocking the wind from his lungs leaving him slightly gasping as he tried to stand.

When Rough Cut finally looked up all he saw was All Might's scowling face as the green lightning danced around him erratically.

Jack's POV:

They had talked about how Selina had wanted it to go down, and it left him feeling a little unsettled. He didn't like that she'd be center stage with that many guys with guns nearby, but he also knew that he wasn't gonna be able to change her mind.

Batman couldn't control Catwoman, so it stood to reason that he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of doing so either.

So Jack did the only thing that felt appropriate, and he jumped the gun.

She had wanted him to come in once he had heard shots going off, but Jack wasn't a fan of the idea of any one of the goons getting the slightest chance to fire off a single shot.

Less chance of a civilian casualty that way.

That and a far less chance of Selina getting herself hurt too. Win-win.

Jack had waited exactly three minutes from the time he'd seen Selina go in through the back door of the building, and then he amped up to 10% of 'One for All' and made his way to the front of the building.

As he was speed walking with purpose the operator of the ticket booth got a look at him and first balked, seemingly caught in a state of disbelief. He did quickly try to recover and stop Jack, though Jack wasn't having any of it.

He had cleared the double doors while the clerk had been awestruck but then heard the wooden door to the booth open behind him as he advanced through the atrium to the single door that would lead into the club.

"Hey wait you can't Just…"

Jack turned around a half step and leveled his most unimpressed stare at the man.

"Sir. Just Don't." Jack said as she watched the man fall into his best impersonation of a fish.

"Get back in the booth. You're closed for the evening. No one else comes in. Call the GCPD and ask for Detectives Yin or Bennett. Tell them there's a shooting in progress." Jack said as he turned and walked away not even waiting to hear if the man complied with his order.

As Jack passed through the open doorway he saw many patrons turn upon hearing the murmuring from the scantily clad waitresses that had stopped in their delivery of drinks to stare at his arrival, and he noticed that the lone bouncer was now walking towards him.

"Halloween's not until October pal Your Outta…" was as far as got before Jack slammed his shield into the man's gut before checking him in the side of the head with it.

One of the waitresses shocked at what just happened shouted out in surprise, as Jack pulled the large bouncer up a bit and set him up against the light lavender wall next to the exit.

"Enjoy your break pal."

Jack turned back to the front and noticed that Selina had all the men's attention and took it as his chance to help get a leg up on the situation.

He wound back and tossed the shield and mentally willed it to hit the guy second furthest on the right in the head before it bounced and hit the guy furthest on the right before it returned to his hand as he was lready mid blitz at the group on the left.

He shield charged one of the guy's sending him bodily into another, and they wound up crashing in a heap on the floor with the table they'd collided with falling onto both of them apparently knocking them out as it hit them in their heads.

'Wow... that was lucky.'

Jack turned and saw one of the guys attempting to get up, so he stomped on his chest and ground his heel into him a bit that action seemingly being enough to get the guy to be still.

Jack then listened to Selina as she tried to interrogate Rough Cut and the second he flipped the table Jack knew it was go time.

Using 'Danger Sense' and his own intuition he knew Rough Cut would throw the chair at Selina so he chucked the shield at it at 15% power knocking it off course, and then quickly blitzed into Rough Cuts personal space and slammed a Spartan kick into his chest.

The man went ass over tea-kettle over another chair and landed on his back, though he surprised Jack by quickly turning onto his side in an attempt to get up though he was groaning and wheezing all the while.

Selina jumped off the stage and started to walk forward and Jack went to move forward as well, but then quickly jumped between Selina and Rough Cut thankful that he had already been summoning his shield back as 'Danger Sense' flared up again.

Rough Cut had pulled his gold plated desert eagle out of his jacket, and started littering Jacks shield with shots. Thankfully Jack had already caught it and the shield was more than capable of taking the hits, simply letting out the loud ringing sound that Jack had become accustomed to as he had grabbed and held Selina as close as he could to keep them both safe behind the shield.

"I Ain't Goin Back You Freak!" Rough Cut shouted as he back pedaled himself towards the exit still shooting at them, before he ducked himself through the door.

Selina quickly worked his arm off of her as got up to run after him.

"Catwoman Wait!" Jack shouted as he stood to his full height.

Selina didn't even glance back as she yelled while running for the door.

"I'm not letting him get away All Might!" she said as her voice still rang strong even as she too passed through the doorway out of the club.

Jack held in his frustration and quick as he could grabbed all the downed goons and piled them on top of one another before popping two of his glue capsules, and with that done bolted for the door.

As he passed through the main entranceway he saw the booth man coming out and he quickly got into his personal space.

"Did you call the police? And did you see which way Catwoman went?" Jack asked as he did his best to keep his tone professional and calm.

The attendant could barely look All Might in the eye though, and it seemed that hearing the gunfire inside had shaken him up.

Thankfully Jack didn't need to rely on the man giving him any answers as he heard a shout from just outside the glass pane doors, followed by the burn out of a pair of tires.

"HEY! THAT'S MY BIKE!"

'Really?!' Jack thought as he quickly passed through the doors leaving the attendant behind to find a leather clad biker kneeling on the ground, as he shouted at a red crotch rocket that was speeding off into the distance.

Jack was about to prepare to book it after Selina, (who had obviously stolen the guys bike) but held as he heard sirens and caught an unmarked cop car pulling up in his peripheral.

Thankfully it seemed the universe was on his side because out of the unmarked stepped Yin and Bennett, and both quickly walked over to him.

"Hey Might!"/"All Might." Were the respective greetings he got from both detectives as they stopped only a few feet from him.

Knowing he didn't have much time Jack sprang into action.

"Detectives. There are six perps inside each of them were armed, but are now secure under capture foam. I've gotta go. Catwoman is in pursuit of Rough Cut." Jack said as he looked at both detectives in the eye before he half turned to take off.

Surprisingly it was Yin who took the lead after Jack had spoken.

"Dammit. We'll secure the perimeter and the perps here All Might. You have our numbers, as soon as you catch that son of a bitch call us and we'll bring the cavalry." Yin said which prompted Bennett to nod and start barking out orders to the other squad cars that were showing up on scene.

Jack gave a brief nod and went to dash off.

"All Might…Be careful."

Yin's words and tone had actually caught Jack flat footed, and he hesitated for a split second, but he quickly composed himself and as he started to take off threw up a thumbs up as he then darted down the road.

The wind was whipping by him as he ran beside cars and trucks, scaring the heck out of some of the drivers as he went; though he'd hear some of them yelling words of encouragement as he'd book past them.

The taller skyscrapers and high rises were starting to fade and lower as they were headed towards the southern connector, which would take them towards the highway and towards the southern docks.

As he went he had found the trail to them easily enough, as it seemed Rough Cut was using an AK-47 which was leaving a veritable trail of expended shells on the ground; not to mention some of the scattered cars and trucks that had clearly had minor accidents in an attempt to not be riddled with bullets.

Jack after making a slight right turn in his run was now fully on the over-under connector bridge and could clearly see Selina and Rough Cuts limo, as well as take in the sound of the rapid gun fire.

Jack was slowly closing the gap and was glad that he had arrived when he did, because he watched Rough Cut throw the AK off to the side and pull his sidearm again.

He took aim and actually took out the front tire of the bike Selina had stolen, causing it to go into a front flip spin. Thankfully Selina had the wherewithal to bail and land relatively safely, though her costume did have some indication of road rash.

Jack skidded to halt beside her and quickly slammed his shield into the pavement in front of them so that he could pull his kit, where he then started to try and look Selina over.

"I'm Fine! We have to get after him!" Selina shouted her tone seemingly fraying at the end, her worry finally bleeding to the forefront.

Fortunately for both of them circumstances aside, other than a few minor gashes in her suit Selina seemed unharmed.

Jack quickly re-secured his back kit and the shield, and proceeded to grab Selina in a bridal carry much to her protest. He amped up to 15% and vaulted up onto a passing oil rig truck which was making towards the same right hand turn off that Rough Cut's limo did.

Jack after settling from the landing set Selina down, and quickly set his lenses down to see if he could magnify and catch sight of the limo. Fortunately he caught the tail end of said vehicle as it made a right turn on the set of streets just below the connector they were on, and the straight away that it was on led straight for the docks.

Jack glanced at Selina and realized she was staring at him with a bit of incredulity, seemingly unable to understand what he'd just done.

"I know you've got questions, but let's hold off on any of them. We gotta get your girl back." Jack said as he looked Selina in the eye.

She held his gaze for a moment and then smirked a bit.

"Oh trust me, you and Teddy Bear have a lot of explaining to do." Selina she then turned her gaze toward the straight away as they were about to pass it.

Not wanting her to try and break off on her own and do something crazy Jack grabbed Selina and put her into a bridal carry again.

"Ya know if I didn't know any better I'd say you were trying to catch a chance to grope my goods."

"No Ma'am. Just gonna save us a bit of time. Hold on tight!" Jack said cutting off any chance she had at a rebuttal as he kicked off the top of the tanker and they soared straight at the side of one of the taller brick buildings in the area.

He felt Selina tense and realized that she was tucking her face into his neck, obviously doing her best not to cry out in fright having not known that he was gonna take them there this way.

With them falling down at an angle Jack curled them up and faced them towards the way they'd come from and used the shield as a minor stopper to collide with the wall, which allowed them to check off the side of the brick just enough for him to then use his legs to push and vault them to a roof that was nearby.

Skidding to a stop Jack set Selina down and made his way for the fire escape ladder that was nearby. Thankfully Selina had gained enough of her composure and had kept pace with him, which allowed them both to climb down the first rung and then vault to another low roof which led in a line towards the docks.

They had ran across five or so rooftops and Jack still using his lenses saw the white limo pull into a warehouse that sat at the head of a concrete pier, and using the zoom function in his helm Jack could see that a small cargo ship was inbound.

"We've gotta move. Rough Cuts probably shipping Holly and whoever else he's taken out tonight, and us confronting him is most definitely speeding up his timetable." Jack said as he glanced at Selina retracting the lenses up into his helm.

Selina didn't say anything, she simply nodded and both made their way down the side of the building, finally touching down on flat ground across the way from the warehouse.

Jack pulled his phone and sent a quick text to Bennett and Yin, letting them know that they were at pier 3 warehouse 43.

Jack offered to pick Selina up and book her across the road but she declined, saying that she was gonna sneak around the back of the building. Jack decided that a pincer maneuver was the best course of action and said he'd go with it, also deciding that he needed to make sure that no one tried to hurt the hostages.

Jack zipped across the two lane road and was already halfway in the parking lot, when a loading crane pulled out and was gonna make the turn towards a large stack of blue shipping containers.

Jack not wanting to give the operator a chance to load anything (or possibly anyone) up and vaulted landing on the hood of the crane and spun with his shield in his right hand and busted the windshield open in one hit showering the operator in glass. Jack reached in and grabbed the flailing operator by the front of his shirt and pulled him forward and out through the hole he'd made in the windshield.

A quick head-butt knocked the man unconscious, and Jack dropped him onto the hood of the crane before popping a glue capsule on him.

Jack dropped down to the floor and ascended the side of the cab and pulled the keys out of the crane, and proceeded to chuck them into the nearby bay. He then booked it towards the open front gate of the warehouse and was glad he'd shown up when he had.

He saw Selina coming flying out of the doors only to crash into the side of a parked black Audi where she fell onto her butt, though Jack would give credit where it was due as Selina displayed her toughness and got right up and somersaulted away from Rough Cut who came barreling out and had slammed a punch into the car door where she had only been just a second beforehand.

If Selina hadn't have moved she'd either be unconscious or under Rough Cuts not so tender mercies, as when he'd thrown the punch he'd actually dented the door.

'Okay that's not normal.'

Rough Cut didn't stop there however as Jack watched him actually rip the door off of the car, and he turned trying to find Selina's retreating form.

Jack was only a few feet away and again saw what was coming next, so he took his shield from his magna plate and tossed it lodging it into the door that Rough Cut had thrown at Selina's retreating back.

Directly after tossing the shield and hearing the wrenching sound of metal on metal as the shield intercepted the door, Jack wasted no time and ran and vaulted up wrapping his ankles around Rough Cuts neck; proceeding to use his immense speed and the momentum it gave him and used a hurricanrana and took the massive man off his feet for the second time tossing him a good few feet away.

Jack kipped up and summoned his shield back to his left hand, but when he turned back to face Rough Cut it was his turn to be surprised as the large man was right in front of him and brought both of his arms down in a hammer blow.

"GAHHH!"

Jack used the shield to intercept the hit and while it was strong and shook him just a bit that was all it did.

Rough Cut took a hold of the sides of the shield with a massive grunt trying to remove it from Jacks hands, but Jack had unslung his arm and cartwheeled while holding the shield keeping it in his grasp before he wrenched it from Rough Cuts surprised grasp.

Jack teep kicked Rough Cut again and took a second to take in the man.

Selina had clearly done a number on him as his suit jacket had dozens of lines marking it, showing that she'd clawed the hell out of him with her retractable claws. He was also bleeding through his cut open dress shirt, showing that she'd actually hurt him badly leaving many deep marks, and Jack was willing to bet that the marks would scar up nice.

Rough Cut was breathing kind of heavy and had sweat pouring down his forehead, his blonde slicked back hair now looking very disheveled

Jack went to speak but was cut off but Cyrus.

"I don't know what the hell it is with you freaks, but I ain't goin back to Blackgate. I'll offer you the same deal I offered the broad, keep your mouth shut and I'll cut you in for 10%." Rough Cut said as he reached up and wiped his brow, also taking the time to wipe some errant hair off of his face.

At Rough Cuts mention of Selina Jack looked slightly to his right and saw her slightly limping her way out of the warehouse, clearly having hurt herself a bit with the dynamic movement she'd had to pull to keep from getting knocked out a bit ago.

Seeing that only made Jack's gut churn and stoked the fire that had been building in his belly.

"Pass." Jack said as he blitzed Rough Cut.

He had moved so fast that they had been at least twenty of so feet apart, but within a second Jack was in front of him and had slammed the shield off of the left side of Rough Cuts face causing a ton of his shining diamond teeth to fly out onto the ground with a nice helping of blood.

Jack then pivoted and spun behind Rough Cut and slammed his shield into the pavement, which he followed up by jumping over the man and as he rose back up to his full height Jack caught him in the midsection with a picture perfect sidekick.

Coupled with the shield being behind the back of his legs Rough Cut hit the ground with a loud groan, though it didn't end there.

Jack was standing over top of him in an instant raining down lefts and rights, catching him in the face and the upper parts of his chest even.

Jack was starting to get really annoyed as he hadn't knocked this goon out yet, and he was terribly curious why.

He got his answer a moment after the thought as Rough Cut actually had the wherewithal to catch one of Jacks arms and he used his even now considerable strength to throw Jack off balance.

Jack had stumbled a bit to the right, but turned around and had already settled himself back into a proper boxing stance when he saw Rough Cuts face as his hand felt at the inside of his mouth.

He saw the thug's visage change from slight horror straight into irate rage.

"YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THAT YOU FUCKIN FREAK! I'LL KILL YOU!" Rough Cut shouted as he reached into his Jacket pocket and pulled out what looked like a beige cigarette patch.

It happened within a second but by the time the thought dawned on him it was too late, so he did the only thing he could do and dashed to his shield and pulled it from the concrete.

Rough Cut had just dosed himself with a Venom slapper.

The patches were the newest variant in the drug that the infamous Bane sold worldwide to the highest bidder, and while not as potent as having a constant direct supply it still gave one the strength of at least five grown men in one even if it only lasted for a short time.

Putting that into the system of someone like Rough Cut who was already decidedly large…was worrying.

Jack slung his shield at Rough Cut as his entire body bulged just a bit causing all of the tears that Selina had made in his suit to open more, his jacket now almost completely useless.

Rough Cut actually swatted the shield out of midair and took large strides towards Jack.

'Okay then. No more playing around.' Jack thought as he reached back onto his belt and dropped two capsules into his hand.

Rough Cut was only six feet from him when Jack tossed the capsules at Rough Cuts chest and watched them go off, sending stored volts of electricity out and into the lumbering oaf.

They didn't do as much as they should have, but they did slow Rough Cut just enough.

Jack slid into his personal space and jumped up to hit him with a one two combo to the face before he backed off again. That obviously annoyed Rough Cut and while he didn't cry out from the hits outside of the growls he was letting out Jack had felt the give and knew for a fact that he'd broken the man's nose.

That was confirmed a second later as Jack could see the blood spilling down the man's face, though it didn't stop him from rushing at Jack again as he tried to throw heavy swings that he was sure the man meant to use to knock him unconscious.

Jack danced around his swings and circled around him and hit him with two very hard hits to the kidneys, that he then followed up with a kick to the back of the knees and then the head that put the man fully flat to the ground again.

The man laid there for a moment and seemed completely out of it, leaving Jack to think it was over with.

That had been a mistake.

Selina had cleared the distance with her limping walk and went to roll the man over.

"Your gonna tell me where she is Rough Cuuuu…."

Rough Cut had swept Selina's legs from under her with one arm, and then proceeded to roll over top of her and then rolled again having wrapped one of his beefy arms around her neck.

Selina had been smart and had tucked her chin, but because of his enhanced strength the defense hadn't lasted.

"You die you dumb bitch!" Rough Cut grunted out in a garbled mess.

Fortunately Jack hadn't stopped to gawk and ran forward and punted Rough Cut in the right side of his face, eliciting a sickening crack.

He had dislocated the man's jaw.

Surprisingly though all it seemed to do was incite more anger from the man, as he didn't let up.

Jack reached down and used all of his own enhanced strength and pried at Rough Cuts left hand, which he broke the thumb and pointer fingers. The man still hadn't budged but let out a gurgling scream, all the while as Jack watched Selina's cheeks change from ashen white to a now almost blue color.

Jack proceeded to kick Cyrus in his left elbow which caused him to loosen his grip, giving Jack his opening. He dropped down to his butt while holding onto the man's wrist and used his feet to push against the man's side to let him extend the arm all the way out to the side.

Selina thankfully had seen her opening and dug one of her clawed hands into Cyrus's right hand forcing him to fully let go as she rolled off of and away from him allowing Jack to bring his legs up and lock over the man's chest.

Jack wasted no time and once he was set up right even though the man was trying to grab at him with his right, Jack bucked his hips straight up with a deep wrench.

The pop and following gurgled scream were horrible, and Jack did his best to remind himself that the man absolutely deserved it.

He kicked off of Cyrus's side and rolled back to stand up to his full height and watched as the man curled in on himself holding his ruined arm close.

Jack summoned his shield to himself and approached Selina.

"Are you alright?" Jack said as he got close to Selina to look at her neck.

Selina smiled at him hearing the concern in his voice as she rubbed at her sore neck and greedily took in deep breaths.

"I'll live. Thanks Kid." Selina said as she patted Jack on his right shoulder.

Jack pulled four glue capsules from his belt and popped them on Rough Cut securing him to the ground.

'Hopefully that'll be enough to hold him.' Jack thought before he turned shield raised as he heard approaching footsteps from off the far side of the pier where the boat had moored up.

Two men dressed in black fatigues with AK's were moving towards them and Jack was immediately in front of Selina shield up, ready to defend.

"You two freaks are done!" One of the men shouted as he took aim with his gun.

Jack was about to try and talk the gunmen down but he needn't had to, as the sound of sirens took the goons attention from him.

"I'm gonna check the crates and find Holly." Selina whispered in Jacks ear as she backed behind a close stack of boxes and disappeared into the shadows.

Jack could only slightly nod as he kept the shield up and watched the two gunmen contemplate taking aim at the police.

"Whatever you're thinkin go ahead and re-think it." Jack said out loud in his sternest voice the sparks of 'One for All' still present.

Fortunately for the two goons they seemed to have more sense than most, as they slowly put their weapons on the ground and got on their knees with their hands laced behind their heads.

Jack swore as he placed his shield on his magna plate and approached the two that he heard one of the muttering.

"Ma was right, I shoulda just went to culinary school." That statement almost making him chuckle and telling Jack that at least one of the two had the chance to not be here, and had done the foolish thing and taken the wrong path.

'Serves ya right pal.'

Jack could only shake his head and waved down both Yin and Bennett as they walked over from their car. He briefed them on all that had happened and then proceeded to help them remove the foam from Rough Cut, so that they could apply a special straight jacket that had been supplied to the police by Wayne-tech. Said jacket being used upon those that used the illicit drug like Bane did.

Jack then followed the detectives over to the shipping containers and found that a bunch of women were standing around the opening of one, eyeing the approaching police and himself pensively.

Jack was trying to see if he could spot Catwoman, when his attention was caught by Yin.

"All Might. You said that Catwoman was involved. Where is she?" Yin asked as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Jack knew that Yin was concerned that having Catwoman back would be a serious problem for the police force, and if Jack was being honest he shared some of that worry.

But tonight Selina had done the right thing whether it had been for her own reasons or not, and that was what shone through for Jack.

"I don't know where she is. She said that she had someone she needed to look after. I guess since she isn't here that means her work is finished. Or at least I hope so. Don't worry detective, if I see her again I'll deal with her personally."

Yin looked him in the eyes and he could tell that she had more to say, but in the end she rolled her eyes and let out a huff of a breath.

"Don't make me regret trusting you All Might. And…Thank You. Again." Yin said as she started to walk more towards the group of women, leaving Jack with a small smile as she walked away.

Jack went to turn and leave but stopped as a young girl with light brown skin, hazel eyes, and puffed up curly light red hair approached him. She stood at about 5'3 or 5'4 and was wearing a light blue halter top, light blue jean shorts, white high tops, pearl earrings, and a dark blue hair band right at the front of her hair line holding her fluffy hair out of her eyes.

"All Might! Hi! Listen. Selina asked me to give you this. She says thank you. And so do I. Thanks for helping save us from those creeps." The girl who could only be Holly said as she leaned in and whispered a part of it before backing up again smiling at Jack as she had handed him a note.

Jack looked down at the small piece of paper and saw some neat scrawl on it.

'See you soon hero. We'll do lunch XOXO.' –S

Jack could only smirk before he crumpled the note and stuffed it in one of his pants pockets. He turned his sight back up to Holly, and addressed what he hoped would be his last worry for the evening.

"Are you gonna be alright? Do you need me to follow you anywhere to make sure your safe?"

The girls smile turned impish and she leaned in quickly and pecked Jack on his right cheek catching him off guard.

"No I'll be okay. I'll catch a ride with the cops. Thank you again, for everything. Especially keeping Selina safe. She's the only family I've got." Holly said as she looked off towards where the police were helping the other girls.

She waved at Jack lightly one last time and gave him a wink as she turned and walked that same way.

Jack could only let out a sigh and shake his head a bit, hoping that things turned out better for Holly. He then turned and saw both Ethan and Ellen talking to the gathered girls and he took a steadying breath, knowing that they'd all be alright.

He turned towards the front gate and amped to 10% and booked it away from the pier, not realizing that he'd had a pair of eyes boring into him the whole time.

'I'm Gonna get you for this All Might. If it's the last thing I do Imma get you for this.'

There Ya Have It Ya'll! I really hope you enjoyed this chapter. For reference this chapter was inspired by the animated Catwoman short which coincidentally you can watch on YouTube for free! (wink, wink.) I did this because there are long term plans, as I'm sure you can tell by the ending. There are other things that will come up later, but I'll save that for then. I hope the format is a lot better now with the lines separating stuff and the listed POV's. I'm not gonna lie this chapter was meant to be longer but it felt like a good plus to cut it off. Please do et me know what you thought of it all. Without giving away too much the next chapter should be giving you a new character or two to look at, as well as some of whom have already been referenced. I can't believe this story is over a year Old! Thank ya'll so much for being here with me for it! Another point of reference that I should mention is that the next chapter will be the first in what may be the first Arc set of this story. I really hope ya'll enjoy it. Till next time guys stay safe, happy, and healthy! Sojiro Out!
