Chapter 1
(Mamoru's POV)
For four years he has carried them with him. For four years he has waited. He was worried that this day wouldn't come. When Sailor Galaxia had killed him he feared they were lost forever. The first moment he had alone, he reached into his subspace pocket, relieved to find that the soul stones of his friends and generals from his past life were still there.
To this day he still doesn't know how he ended up with them. He didn't remember much of his time in the Dark Kingdom, four years ago. What he did remember wasn't good, he was a real bastard then, especially to the one woman who means everything to him.
Usagi, his Usako. He tried to kill her back then. She never hated him for it though, never held it against him. Her reason for that had always been that he was possessed by evil which lead him to not remember her, and not be in control. Her love saved them both that day. For that, and the many times after that she saved him, he would always be grateful.
As Sailor Moon she has saved him, and the world time and time again. It had been two years since she'd had to don her fuku, and fight. The world has been at peace since chaos was returned to where it belongs, and Galaxia was defeated. Sailor Moon has not been needed. She, her senshi, and he still transform regularly to train, practice, and grow their strength. Tonight he would ask her to transform, not to train, but restore.
Over the last four years he's considered asking Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon, and use the Silver Crystal to restore his friends, but at the last minute changed his mind. He regretted that decision when Galaxia came because he was dead, and couldn't protect her, but it worked out in the end, she won. When he had realized he had the soul stones, he had decided to wait, to allow Usagi to grow in strength, and to have more control of the Silver Crystal. He also knew the senshi were not ready.
You see, these four men were not only his friends, but they were also the lovers, soulmates of the inner senshi in their past lives. At the time that he realized he had them, the girls, Rei, Minako, Ami, and Makoto were only fourteen and not ready. They didn't remember the men they had loved from their lives in the Moon Kingdom. They also hadn't had the time needed to focus on rebuilding those relationships. Enemies, and battles were a constant thing in those years, and these relationships, he knew needed work that his and Usagi's would not. So he had decided to wait until there were no enemies, and the girls had all graduated high school.
Last night they did. Last night he watched his love, and his four friends, who were more like sisters to him, take those final steps out of childhood, and into adulthood. He watched as those five amazing women started their lives. There had been times over the years he didn't think they would be here to reach that moment, or that he would be alive to see it, but he sat among the families of the girls he saw as family, with pride in each of them as they graduated high school. He had celebrated with them long into the night, and talked about each girl's next step in life.
Makoto was little surprise to him. She would start culinary school in the fall. Her goal was to open a pastry shop. He knew she could do it. She was already the best baker he knew. She always provided the best homemade treats for study sessions, hang outs, and just because.
Ami wasn't a surprise either. Her dream had always been to be a doctor, like her mom. She would start at the same college he attended for premed, in the fall. He always enjoyed conversations with Ami as they would spend hours discussing science, medicine, and the latest medical advances.
Rei, slightly surprised him. She had long talked about breaking into singing, but over the last two years she had started talking about going into fashion design. After years of helping Usagi pick outfits for dates with him, dances, and events, she realized she had a real eye for design. She would start art school in the fall with a major in design.
Usagi, his Usako wasn't surprising to him. She had long ago decided she wanted to be an elementary school art teacher. She would be starting college with majors in art and teaching, with a minor in business. When asked about the minor in business she had just shrugged, and said if I'm going to be queen some day I should have at least some clue on how to manage something. No one could argue with that.
The biggest surprise to everyone, except him, was Minako who, after years of talking about breaking out as an idol, as herself instead of her past persona of Sailor V, decided to go to college for event planning. The girls were shocked, but she had waved them off, and said that she already had a taste of fame as the model and actress Sailor V. Only he, his lawyer, accountant, Taiki of the Three Lights, and Minako knew the real reason she lost interest in fame.
During Minako's friendship with the Three Lights, Taiki had approached her about her role as Sailor V, and offered to review her contract if she ever had questions. Together they discovered that her parents were taking 70% of her earnings. She had always known they were living off her money, but not to that extent. In her defense, she was only 13 when she had been scouted, and the contract for her as Sailor V was signed by her managers, her parents. When she tried to discuss redoing the contract with her parents, they refused. Claiming they earned that money just by being her parents.
Right after the battle with Galaxia, Minako approached Mamoru for help. He took her to his lawyer to see what could be done to change her contract. After meeting with the man three times she found out she could never get that money back, but she could cut her parents off. With the help of Mamoru's lawyer she fired her parents, renegotiated her contract with the model agency and production companies, moved out, and filed for emancipation. She still got royalties from her movies, and video games that help her live, but the whole situation left a bad taste in her mouth for fame.
He was proud of each of the girls for all they had accomplished in school, and in life, as well as senshi. They had worked hard, risked their lives, even died to protect this planet time, and time again. The words thank you never seemed to be enough, but he hoped this would be. He hoped restoring their loves, and soulmates would show them just how much they were appreciated, and that they more than deserved to have the love, joy, and happiness he already shared with his Usako.
He knew Rei would be the most difficult to accept her lover and soulmate back. Ami would be logical about what had happened in the past, and would work with Zoisite to rebuild what they once had. Makoto would be glad to have her sparing partner, and taste tester of old back. Minako, oh Minako would be thankful to have the love she gives returned.
He knew each of the men would have work ahead of them though. That was why he choose now. The girls were done with school for three month. Plus he and Usako were leaving the following day for a month long trip to America. Her parent's, and his graduation gift to her.
He was very excited for the trip, and the fact that tonight started a lifetime of falling asleep next to her every night and waking up next to her every morning. In four years of their relationship they had only ever spent two nights together, but both had been so emotionally charged with the events occurring in the world, neither had been able to enjoy being able to sleep in each other's arms. He had also waited on other things due to her age, and feeling that the time wasn't right, but those were thoughts for another time.
At the moment he was waiting on Usagi to arrive at the training spot they had found years ago. It was a secluded area of the woods just outside of Tokyo. It had plenty of tree coverage, but there were a lot of wide open areas, far from the road, and people. He had chosen here for this so they weren't seen, had time, and privacy. He had yet to tell Usagi what they were doing, but he hoped she would agree, and to do this not only for him, but the girls too.
He smiled when he saw Usagi, transformed into Sailor Moon, jumping across trees toward him. She stopped at the tree closest to him, nodding at him, and smiled. He transformed, and quickly followed her across the trees to the clearing 5 miles into the woods, where they usually trained. Nothing was said between them, but both enjoyed the trek any way. When they finally stopped Usagi turned to him, and smiled.
"One last training session before we spend a month traveling?" She asked.
"Not quite. More of a hope." Mamoru answered.
She looked at him questioningly. He took a deep breath, sent out a silent prayer that she would do this, and pulled the four stones out of his subspace pocket. When he held them out to her, she blinked then looked at him.
"Are these what I think they are?" Usagi asked quietly, staring at him.
"They are." Mamoru answered.
"How…How long have you had these?"
"Four years. I found them in my subspace pocket right after Ail and Ann left. I don't know exactly how I ended up with them, but I have them."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"At first I didn't know what they were. When I first felt the life slumbering in each one, I knew. Then everything happened with ChibiUsa and The Black Moon Clan, The Death Busters, and all of it. The time was never right. Life was never calm enough."
"But the last two years things have been calm, and peaceful. No new enemies."
"I know, but for that first year I wasn't here, and then this last year all of you have been so busy with school, and preparing for college. You all needed to focus, and this, well this could be a major distraction."
"True. More for the girls than anything. So what is it you can do?"
"That's the problem. I can't."
"What do you mean?"
"The Golden Crystal, my crystal can heal and restore life to the planet, and plants, but not to people. I have no way to restore them…."
"But the Silver Crystal, has the power to restore lives. You want to use the Silver Crystal to restore them?"
"I can't. I can't use the Silver Crystal. Only you can."
"You want me to use the Silver Crystal to restore them? How do you know they are no longer evil?"
"I know because I can feel it. I can feel them. I can feel the lack of evil. When you eliminated Metalia you eliminated her evil completely, from everything, and everyone."
"I guess it makes sense that you can feel them."
"I am asking you to do this not only for me, but for the girls too. They deserve to have what we have. Please Usako, do this for us."
"I never said I wouldn't do it. I agree with you. I am just not completely sure if I can. I will try though. Please don't be disappointed if it doesn't work."
"I understand. Thank you for being willing to try."
"Place them in a semi circle, far enough apart that they aren't falling all over themselves if this works."
"Thank you Usako."
Mamoru kissed her quickly than placed each stone about 4 feet apart from the other, in a semi circle in front of him and Usagi. He then took up a place directly behind her, prepared to lend her his strength if she needed it. Then he waited.
He watched as Usagi took a few deep breaths, then remove the Silver Crystal from her broach, holding it between her hands. She raised it above her head. After a minute or two her clothing changed to the royal white dress with gold trimmings of the Moon Kingdom. She lowered her arms and pointed the Silver Crystal at the four soul stones. The entire clearing was suddenly engulfed in white light that bleed into pink. He placed his hands on Usagi's shoulders, and sent power to her, when he noticed her slight tremble. He was suddenly blinded by a bright flash of light, and pulled Usagi against him when he saw her start to collapse. When he looked up to where the stones were, he wanted to cry. There stood the men who had been his generals, his companions, his confidents, his best friends 1000 years, and another life ago. She had done it.
