AN: I don't own My hero academia
Number 1
"This just in. It appears the number two hero's wife has filed a divorce on her husband. Reasons for it are still unknown."
"Our sources say their falling out could be due to differences on how to raise their children."
"The divorce happened just after two of their children were hospitalised. Something happened."
"I don't blame her for leaving you to know. To be married to such a scary guy not to mention cold. He may have a fire quirk, but his personality is anything but warm."
"Breaking news: Endeavour cheated on his ex-wife."
"Endeavour family burns in flames."
"Doesn't he still have two kids with him? How was he allowed to keep them?"
"Those kids must be so scared. I feel sorry for them."
"Why didn't the mother take all of them? Endeavour is not suited to be a father."
The rumours spiralled into a wildfire. No one was surprised by this outcome. The surprise came from mainly how fast and how strong the media was milking this event. A few days after the divorce went public and the usual outlets were writing up a storm. The number 2 hero getting a divorce was the biggest story around. No one could stop talking about it. From the media to civilians everyone was getting in on the action. In daily conversations or online. They were everywhere. Some more malice than others. There were countless baseless accusations about how he cheated on his wife. Or caused the accident that sent his children to emergency care. That one wasn't completely untrue. What was, is this conspiracy theory going around that his adopted son was his illegitimate love child from a mistress. It was all a little much…
Endeavour started to make mistakes. Little mistakes. That rolled into bigger mistakes. Missing paperwork. Miss signed documents. Going into the wrong rooms. Tripping…that ended to be a big one. During a chase, he slipped, and couldn't get up. The villain they were after caused more damage than they should have. It was only thanks to his sidekicks that things didn't get out of hand. More little incidents piled on top of the others. The harsh voices of the world. Grew louder.
"This just in the number 2 slips allowing villains for a quick getaway."
"Sidekicks saved the number 2 hero."
"Endeavour losing his cool. The world is burning around him."
"The guilt is getting to him a tell you."
"This is why All Might is such a better hero".
"How gave this brute a hero licence. He clearly doesn't deserve it."
"Those sidekicks are the only reason why he got this far. Without them, he would have never entered the top 10 rankings."
Those rumours and stories tainted his image. His public approval rating was always lower than other highly ranked heroes despite being second best. The only reason he's up so high was due to his high number of criminal cases solved under his name. All that hard work was completely ignored. Tossed aside as if it meant nothing. His current mistakes were the ones pushed into the spotlight. Any achievements he had accomplished were ignored. All that mattered was that he was a horrible husband and an unsuited father. How could someone like him be qualified to be a hero? Soon the media outlets and people had something else to talk about:
"Number 2 drops five places."
Due to all the negative attention, his little mistakes, it was to be expected he would drop from his second-place pillar. He just couldn't imagine he would drop this low. 6 place…not even top 5. Endeavour held a newspaper in his hands. A report on yesterday's yearly hero rankings. He had held the number 2 spot for years. To fall this much. It was a miracle the paper wasn't ash.
The sidekicks at the agency were on edge ever since the announcement. Of course, Endeavour didn't go to the live event. They could only assume it was too humiliating for him. Then again since the building wasn't on fire. They believed he was taking it better than they thought. One brave soul called out to their boss. "Don't worry, sir. You'll get them next time. This is just a little bump in the road."
The hero huffed and tossed the paper aside. He then stood up and walked away without another word. No one dared stop him. Someone did dare to ask where he was going. Calmly, Endeavour replied in a stern tone. "I'm going home for the day. If you have any trouble, call. Though I'm sure you all are competent enough to deal with anything without me."
No one could tell what was on his mind. Whether his calm face was a fake or he didn't care. All they did know was their boss was distracted. He has been ever since the divorce. Maybe some time at home could help clear his mind.
When Endeavour returned home what immediately caught his attention was Arata and Touya in the garden. Surprisingly or not surprisingly. Arata took his job as a teacher very seriously. Whether it was Izuku in academics or Touya in swordsmanship the man wanted to push their limits. In Touya's case, Arata had upgraded him to dual wielding. Thanks to Touya young and lean body he was able to take on the style rather quickly. Without the need to use his flames once, the boy could potentially take on a variety of villains. Arata has been focusing on him extra hard since the U.A exams will be within a year. Although, Endeavour had promised to help his progression into heroism. Somewhat reluctantly one might add. Touya still needed to prove himself worthy of the recommendation. That much he could do.
"Straighten that back. Do you want to fall?"
"No, sir."
"And keep your feet light. You're dual wielding now. You can't afford clumsy movements."
"Understood, sir."
Touya so focused he didn't notice his father. Even Arata failed to notice. They were both too engaged in their world to even acknowledge him. It was perfect. Just as asked. Endeavour could honestly laugh at himself. Has he fallen so far down that he couldn't even be good enough to train his son? Needed to allow someone else better suited to teach in his place. "Can I get more pathetic?" He asked himself. He soon walked away not wanting to disturb them.
He made his way to Izuku's room. Since he wasn't outside with his brother and teacher, he must be doing something else. That's when he heard it. That infuriating voice. Irritating laughter haunted him every single day. He could never get it out of his head.
"HAHAHA! Fear not! For I am here!"
Endeavour peeked through the doors of his youngest son's room. His back was turned to him. outline by the glow of the screen. The child faced the screen with what he could imagine with great focus. In his small, crisped hands was a pen at the ready along with an open notebook. A study exercise he grew used to seeing. Izuku would watch old or new hero clips and break them apart analytically. The boy scanned through hundreds of them by now. Looks like he was looking at All Might now. Of course, he would eventually. The man was the number 1 hero.
"Amazing," the child said in awe.
That one word sank Endeavour's heart. His eyes hyper-focused on his son's back. He couldn't see his face, but he didn't have to do it. He was very familiar with the boy's look of awe. He had the look for himself for the longest time.
"I can see why most say he's the best hero."
A hand mark burned a print at the boy's door. It took all Endeavour's remaining self-control to look away. Grunting, he marched. His stomps boom with power and frustrations. His fist clenched to an iron tight fist while his mind raced with so many thoughts. Memories. Like a whole film reel of his life was flashing through his eyes blinding his vision. His body was on autopilot. It was even starting to heat up. Rage flames soon engulfed his face. The outburst did nothing to cool his rage. It only made things worst.
Of course, the boy would one day notice All Might. Think his rival was better than him. Everyone noticed the shining symbol of peace. They all know he's better than him in every single way. It's so hard not to consider how damn perfect he was. Perfect quirk. Perfect smile. Perfect hero. Never made a single mistake in his whole career. He was everything Endeavour wanted to be. No that's a lie. He just wanted the title. He wanted to be number 1 and he thought he could. He tired. And tried. And tired but he could never compare the mountain that was All Might. That's why he gave up and decided to place that dream on the shoulders of his children. Live vicariously through them, but it was useless.
Instead of reaching closer to his goal he made more problems. He became a useless teacher. Unable to notice his son's pain or realise he wasn't suited for his style of fighting. Needed to rely on someone far more suitable than him to do the job. He became a useless husband. Unable to stop his wife from divorcing him. Essentially made her a baby maker through his useless sham of a marriage. Throughout all their time together he couldn't love her one bit. He became a useless father. Unable to care for all his children equally. Even with the children he did care about. He couldn't protect them. Both have scars that will never heal. Those scars were his fault. If he could have done things differently maybe it wouldn't have turned out this disastrous. Now he was a useless hero. Unbale to keep his hero ranking or his life together. He was just useless.
Useless.
Useless!
USELESS!
"USELESS!"
Smash! Glass shattered all over the floor. A young Endeavour sat on his keens before a stern-looking man. He gained much of his looks from him. His father. The man used to be a famous glass artist that faded away to obscurity. He then got married to another artist known for her simple but stunning line paintings. Their creative nature made them a perfect match. They hoped to have children to match their artistic abilities. Instead, they got him who had little to no artistic talent.
Because of his flame quirk, his father thought he could become more like him. Become an even better glass artist than he ever was. Bring life to his dying name. How unfortunate for him that the young Endeavour didn't inherit his talents. To him, he was a useless child. A failure he had the misfortune of creating. "I can't believe this. What use is it that you were born with flame quirk if you keep making such lifeless pieces? Such power utterly wasted on a child like you." To add salt to the wound the man kicked the pieces of shattered glass around like they were garbage in his way. It took the child weeks to complete it. Whether the man believed him or not. He tried his hardest on that piece using his heart and all. "Why couldn't be more like your sister. She inherited both your mother's and my artistic talents. It would have been better if she inherited your quirk as well."
Even when he was younger, he was always second best. There was always one other person to who he was compared. His younger sister. She was the artistic one. She was the talented one. She was the favourite. Even during the times, his mother tried to support him. Saying things like he would get better. He would find his style one day. He never did. He learned to hate art the medium his parents were so proud of. He learned to hate being forced to do something he wasn't even good at just so he could be more like his parents. Be closer to them. Most of all he hated being second best in everything. The constant comparison of him and his sister drove him mad.
The boiling point came swiftly. He decided it wasn't worth trying anymore. So, he ran away. Now his parents didn't have to worry about their unless child and focus on their golden girl. He ran and ran with the only money he had. He'd be damn if he would use his parents' cash. This was a stash he saved from small part-time jobs he was able to land in secret. He took himself all over the country. Hoping around doing various odd jobs just to survive. It hardened him as well as tired him. But anything was better than that place. The question remained: what was he going to do now?
Out of all the odd jobs he'd done cooking was by far the one he had a surprising amount of talent for. For a moment he did consider it but even here he was second-best in so many areas. There was always someone better than him. It made him bitter. If he was going to choose a profession it would be one where he would be considered the best. He would have no equal and no one could question his placement. Something that could burn a fire in him. One day he found that calling.
It started with a Yakuza shakedown at one of his old workplaces. When things got heated, he stepped in and calmly took down the group with little effort. He even managed to pacify the group, and no one got hurt. It was strange. It was like he was hyper-aware of his surroundings. In his mind, all that was going through his head as he couldn't allow this disgraceful action to stand. Back then when the customers and his co-workers were cowering in place. He just had to do something. So, he did. Instantly he was praised for his heroic actions, but the big break happened afterwards.
Apparently, one of the people he saved was an associate in the hero association. They extended a hand to the young Endeavour asking if he had any aspiration to be a hero. He said no. His parents always thought the career was too vulgar. Just people violently punching each other in the streets. A complete waste of gifts called quirks. He grew up knowing little about heroes because of this but the more he learned about it. The more he liked the sound of it. Be able to use his quirk to save people and get prise. He could do that.
Soon he was enrolled at U.A under their recommendation and he completely dominated. He studied like a madman to get his grades up and trained his body to utter perfections. No one in his class could even manage a fraction of the dedication he put in. He lived and breathed heroics. He swore to himself: If he was going to be the best in something it would be this. Endeavour fought tooth and nail to reach his position. His daily exercises constantly lit him on fire. He would do anything to finally get out of the shadow of second best. For once he was happy. He enjoyed himself being on top. The envy of others around him.
He graduated at the top of his class. It wasn't long before he climbed the ranking. Higher and higher quicker than anyone his age could manage. He burned his way through the competition with aggression and finesse. It wasn't long until he established an agency to call his own. Sidekicks of all ages would flock to him for a chance in the limelight. Life was good until he was forced to face his greatest challenge.
All Might.
He did everything he could think of. Ensuring his agency and the people who work there was absolute perfection. Any weaklings were cut out immediately. When that didn't work, he tried to train himself. Sculpted his body to resemble more like his heated rival. At first, it was fun. He always enjoyed a little competition. Since there weren't any challengers at U.A the fire within him was not burning a brightly as he wanted it to. Now it did. He flared with such passion it gave him life. Everything was finally going his way. No one telling what he can and can't do. No one looking down on him. No one telling him that he was useless.
Then that passion grew to obsession. As the years rolled and he firmly stuck the number 2 position. No matter how hard he worked. No matter what he did. Nothing helped him improve. It became painfully clear he could never surpass All Might. Once again, he was second best.
What happened next was his last-ditch attempt to do something that could help him surpass that mountain summit. The creation of a strong heir. That too ended up in flames.
He didn't know when he came too. When he did, he found his fist punched through the floorboards. Endeavour was in his training room. The only place where he could vent his anger freely. He spent a small fortune repairing this one room alone. It was pathetic. Why was he angry this time? Guess he got a little jealous. Hearing his youngest son prise his rival like that hit his pride. It hurt to an embarrassing degree. He was second-best in his youngest eyes too…He really was useless.
"Father?" Endeavour turned to the soft voice with eyes that lost their soul. Their fire. Izuku stared back at them worriedly. In his hand was a single mochi on a little plate. "It's not your favourite but it was all I could find." He placed the plate down on the floor in front of him. His father has yet to speak which worried him more. "May I come in?"
There was some hesitation. "Yes…sit down, Izuku," Endeavour patted down a place in front of him. Like a good child, Izuku followed his father's directions and sat in front of him. Even so, Endeavour refused to look the child in the eye. The floor was more interesting to him. "You've been watching All Might videos, I see."
Excitedly yet nervously, Izuku nodded his head. "Yes. I thought it would be good if I watched the current number 1 hero. Is there something wrong with that?"
"Of course, not…" the fallen hero hastily replied. He straightened his body, but he didn't the strength to look the boy in the eye. Or at his direction at all. "So, what do you think?"
"He's amazing and really strong. I can't pinpoint his quirk yet though. My guess it's some sort of enhanced but something not right with that idea. I can't really put my finger on it." He said truthfully with a bright smile.
It hurt. More than it ever should. The fallen hero has heard it so many times. People just loved to repeat themselves with their praise of All Might. He could never escape them. Nor could he ever escape the title that was branded at his back since he was born. Second best. To hear it coming from Izuku hurt so much more than nameless nobodies. "So… he's better than me."
"No," The boy stated firmly. The firmest and confidence caught the man off guard. His eyes shocked open while his head turned to finally face the boy. He was greeted by his pure face. Smiling at him with the same adoration he always had. "No one can be better than father."
Endeavour didn't know what to think. "… but he's the number 1 hero."
"Just because he's number 1 in the rankings doesn't mean he's number 1 to me. Father will always be number 1 in my eyes." His voice was chipperly high with nothing but genuine honesty.
His head lowered once again at the boy's words. How could he say that with such confidence now? "I lost my number 2 ranking."
"You can get it back. Rankings change every year." Izuku argued back getting slightly annoyed. "Father was acting really strange today. Father's been acting strange for a while. No way father would give up like this."
Endeavour's eyes wandered to Izuku's bandaged hands. He bit his lip hard and clenched his fist shamefully. "I failed both you and Touya. None of my teachings was helpful for him, and I couldn't protect you from being burned."
"Arata sensei says everyone need help sometimes and I think so too. Also, some of your teaches can still be added to Touya's fight style. He just needs to be a little careful." Izuku continued to argue back. He then shyly grabbed his hands and tried to hide them in between his legs. "And do worry about this. I'm fine."
"I'm a horrible person." Endeavour finally admitted allowed. He is horrible. That's how he ended up in this mess. That's how he always ended up in this mess. If he was only a little different. If he made better decisions. Then his children would all be together with a mother. None of them would have gotten hurt or felt hurt. Heck Rei would have been better off if she never married him. Izuku would have been with his real parents who would have been better parents than he could be a father. How could he be any different than what he already was?
"Then don't be," Izuku answered the unspoken question simply. "Just become a better person."
Endeavour eyes lightened at the boy's innocent answer. It was so simple and obvious it was laudable. It can't be that easy. Could it? "You can't…be serious."
"I am being serious!" Izuku yelled in a huffy pout. He bounced to his feet so he could meet his father's eye level. His green eyes burning brighter than they ever had. "Quit this nonsense talk already. Need I remind you. You're Endeavour. The flame hero never gives up and gives everything his all. The best hero. I don't care what anyone else thinks." His passionate declaration echoed similar words from the past. Only the roles are reversed and the words were altered to fit. A sly look was mimicked on the child's innocent face. "Unless that's what you want? Do you want to give up just like that without even trying? Is that is, father?"
That wasn't fair. Endeavour thought to himself while he held his breath and the burning liquid stinging in his eyes. How dare this child use his own words against him. Words he said to him so long ago. A near-perfect mimic. Lovingly reacted for him. Even now the child's eyes held nothing but the purest form of love for this mess of a man. Words could not even be to describe the intense emotions flooding his heart. None could come out of his mouth. Only a simple sentence: "I don't know how. Or even begin to be better."
A little hand touched his. Izuku's smile radiated through any dark clouds that fogged the hero's eyes. It was blindingly pure. "Then I'll help you. I am your son."
Endeavour bit back his emotions yet again. This child wasn't playing fair at all. How could be possible to argue against such a boy? "Tell me. Why do you think I'm better than All Might?"
"Because father tires and never give up," Izuku said proudly while raising his arms as high as he could. "I've heard and seen many interviews of heroes and others saying All Might's so great. They want to be like him. No one ever says they want to be better. They say it's impossible to beat him but despite all the father still tries. To do the impossible even if everyone doubts him." The tiny grip on the man's hands tightened. The boy's smile and eyes held such fondness for him. It could steal anyone's heart. "That's more cool to a quirkless kid like me that can't do much. Than someone so perfect it's hard to believe they're real." He then stood up and wrapped his arms around his seated father's neck. Affectionately, he tightened himself around him, "but father is real. Father tries his best no matter what. I want to do the same. I want to do my best too. That's my father is my number 1."
At that very second Endeavour cried. He couldn't hold it back anymore. So many emotions bubbled front while the child held him so lovingly. No words could reflect the feelings he was having. It was so overwhelming all he could do was hug back and whispered softly: "Thank you."
He may never made it to that number one spot, but this. This boy in his arms. His loving words and actions. Perhaps it was enough for him. The two of them shared this moment alone for a very long time.
"Ahh Endeavour you're back. I see you brought Izuku with you." Arata greeted once he saw the two of them walk into the garden. It became a secondary training area. The space allowed his quirk to move more freely. At times they would go up to the mountains for more…intense training. Izuku was sitting on Endeavour arms while the man carried him around. They both greeted the man as well as Touya who was close by. "Just in time, Touya has something special to show you." Arata then turned to the boy and nodded his head as a single.
Touya nodded back. He took a deep breath and his face become firmly focused. His arms straightened to his side with his palms flattened out. The boy was barefoot let his toes feel the dirt below him. He counted in his mind. 1. 2. 3. His face sharpened, and a little burst of flames shot from his palms and his feet. The force propelling him upwards a good half a meter high. He twisted his body around showing he could manoeuvre slightly but only for a few seconds. His flames soon disappeared, and he fell clumsily back to his feet. Still doesn't get rid of the fact that the boy could hoover. Even if it was only for a few seconds.
This new fact caused Izuku's brain to spiral in all sorts of directions. "That's so cool, Touya," he prised. Even Touya looked a little smug about it. "I've seen this hero called Jet and he uses this self-powered jet back. It's really cool too. It helps him fly around and stuff. Maybe you can do that with your flames."
It wasn't a half-bad idea. The more Touya thought about it the more he liked it. It would be cool to fly something his father hasn't ever done. Unless running up buildings but melting his foot into them counted. "I jet pack powered by my flames. I like it. I like it. Maybe I can get some rocket boots too."
"Oooohhhh… that could help with balance. Maybe to could increase your speed. Then Touya's moments would be faster! Like changing directions really fast while fighting. No one can hit you that way." Izuku had more to say. So much more. He couldn't think of a way to say it all at once. Or maybe he should say it all at once next time. His mind was racing so much.
"You're stiff," Endeavour interrupted. The attention was suddenly on him, so he had to elaborate. Shuffling, Izuku to one arm, he extended his other one. A burst of flames engulfed his hands. "I used a similar method during pursuits. My flames to propel me forward as fast as possible. You can use it to change directions swiftly but with how your arms are they're too stiff. Your elbows need to be looser for max efficiency." Then the flames died down. Endeavour clenched his hand in thought. "While, I do use this often, it's only if needed. I burn up too quickly if used constantly."
This made Arata hum in thought. "The drag created by your large frame would also hinder your effectiveness but…" his eyes then turned to Touya who looked mildly disappointed. All this talk of control and using his quirk creatively led him to discover this technique himself. The child thought he could show off with a move he made on his own. Rub in in his father face. That's not possible if his father already had a similar technique down. Still, this presented an opportunity. "Touya doesn't have that problem since he's young and still quite slender. He's also getting better at precise control. Making the area he realised his flames smaller for minimal damage yet still packs enough punch. I'm afraid they're not much I can do with him regarding his quirk training to improve this." sly spark shined in the teacher's eyes while they wandered to Endeavour. The hero physically shivered at them. Smiling he said: "looks like your still needed Endeavour."
Gulping, Endeavour shifted his gaze to his eldest son. The boy was glaring at him with nervous but intense hopeful eyes. everything about the boy from his twitchy but straight posture to his mildly quivering bottom lip told one thing. He really wanted this. Endeavour couldn't say no. "I suppose there are things I can still teach." The comment made the other boy smile.
"Yeah," Izuku cheered along. "If Touya can't beat father physically then he can beat him in speed."
"I'll be better than dad in no time! Especially now since he dropped so low." The boy at the slyness of eyes that pointed to the fallen hero. Oddly, his father didn't see visibly effective, but he did look stern. Smugly, Touya grinned while taunting his father. "What's the matter. The great endeavour doesn't think he can reclaim his second-best title."
"I'll reclaim it alright." Endeavour huffed. He gave wandering to the happy Izuku in his arms. It was impossible to not smile back. "I can't give up yet. I still need to get that number 1 title. The right way this time. With my own strength. Even if it seems impossible or if I can never make it. I can at least try my best. I can't make it easy for you."
Touya raised an eyebrow of doubt. "You're still on about that? I thought you've given up already. Isn't that way you got with mom in the first place?"
"Father will never give up." Cheered Izuku completely allowing that last statement to fly by his head.
Arata soon stepped in with a hum. He could honestly not care less about the man's issues. What he has done in the past was irrelevant to the now. He had one job and one job only. To ensure his students' succession. For that to happen Endeavour needed to play his role in their lives correctly. "I love the enthusiasms Endeavour. Really, I do. And if anyway can wipe that dumb smile off that fool's face it's you. Still, that obsession is concerning. Now more so since you're a single parent with two young kids. I'd think they'll need a father figure more than a hero in their life."
"Enji."
Arata had to do a double-take. "…I beg your pardon?"
"Like you said my…obsession is concerning, to say the least. Because of it, I've done things I shouldn't be proud of. Perhaps the karma of my actions is catching up on me. It's time to take full responsibility for all of it." The man looked at his two children. He then settled Izuku down and beckoned Touya forward. Once both of them were in his sights he kneeled to meet them both in the eye. They were flickering with the light of sincerity as well as the darkness of guilt. "I know I'm not the best person. Like hell, I have any right to call myself I good father but I want to be." He then grabbed both of their hands and joined them together in his. He had a declaration both of them needed to hear. "I'm going to try to become that's what I need to be. Enji Todoroki. A father. I hope I can become someone you'll both be proud of."
His eldest stared at him in disbelief. He jumped away pulling Izuku with him. Then he pointed a finger gun at the man. "Ok, the alien swap theory is back on the table. Where's our real dad you alien version of him."
"What on earth are you talking about." Their father yelled with his usually furry back. His how his head was set ablaze. There was no dough it was him.
"Just kidding." Touya cheekily said. He then rushed up to the man he jumped at him with a hug. It was a surprise, but his father accepted it and held him close. It was such a new and wonderful feeling. He couldn't remember or think of a time they did his. That thought didn't run in the feel. "I'd like to have a dad too. Instead of the hero Endeavour." His eyes grew cheeky again while he had to stab his father one last time. "I'm still going take that number 2 ranking of yours. If you can make it back, there that is."
Then Izuku popped out of nowhere wanting to be a part of this family moment. "And I'll help…somehow."
"You'll be my ultra-special cheerleader, Izuku." His brother encouraged.
"Cheerleader, Yay!"
Heartily, their father laughed. He swiped scooped up both his sons and held them close in each arm. There was with a light tone of mischief his yes eyes while he glanced back and forth at his two sons, "You two aren't going to make it easy for me. Huh."
Arata laughed with him. Perfectly fine with his role on the side-lines. Now the man got his attention. "Well, Enji. I look forward to seeing you raise as both a hero. More importantly a father."
No truer words could be said at that moment. Today marked the day the hero Endeavour takes the second position. While Enij Todoroki takes centre stage in his life alongside his two precious sons. "Just watch me."
AN: I can finally call you Enij now. Anyway, there we have it. The end of season one. When will I start season 2? I have no idea. Probably after I complete some of my older works which could take a while. So don't expect it to be too soon.
Anyway, confession time. This might already be obvious, but I really like Enij. I can pinpoint the moment when I started fall for this character. That one panel page of a down hearted Endeavour foolishly failing to build a bridge to get to All Might's level. It showed he was more than a genetic evil father figure. The more he developed he more I couldn't help but want to root for him. Is he a terrible person? Yes. But unlike others he has recognised that and tries to change. Is he late? Yes. This change happening sooner would probably be better. Yet despite all that he continues to fight. He endeavours through any hardships that 100% deserves all those hardships as the consequences of his bad choices. But I couldn't help but wonder how he ended up the way he did. We don't know much about his family life but for him to become why way he is I can only see too paths. He was perfect and the best at everything and when that stopped, he grew bitter. Or he was always second best and got really tired of it. This sounds more like him. He just screams like the type of person that has had a hard life from the start and got tougher and angrier as it went along.
Also, I'll probably start answering comments directly now. Maybe not all of them but most of them. this is just so my word count won't go too crazy. You guys have been really great and sweet in the comments. Don't know how it will go since I've only done this a couple of times. So don't be too surprised by that. Anyway, do the final reviews in this style:
ReDestrobo – well you're going to have to wait a long time for Shoto. He'll be kind of cold yet not at the same time. You'll kind of see what I mean when I get there. As for Rei way too angry. Not only at Izuku but Endeavour as well. While I have plans for U.A I don't know if I'll have the energy to do them. It all depends on how I'm feeling because that will most likely be a squeal.
Harleking31 – you're both very far and a little close with one tiny detail. Other than that, wait see in season 2. Another thing while Touya agreed to train with Arata what he wanted last event wasn't all traing related. As said Endeavour had become distant at the time. Him asking his father to train again was his way for trying to close the growing gap. That was the only way he could think of to get close again which kind of failed. Endeavour demanded Arata to take over traing completely by the end. Taking himself out Touya's life for the most part.
Also, as interesting and hilarious this would be given some already planned plotline it would make things more complicated than they need to be. So many things are already going to happen in season 2 that this just won't fit. I have feeling this will be the longest season. And the final season 3 (unless I follow through with that squeal plan) is just a whole bunch of complications. Adding Rei back into that mix like this would make things way too messy in my opinion. As guilty as she was to begin with the saying 'out of sign out of mind' plays here. she has been banking on the hope that Shoto has a better life now and just focusing on surviving her own life. Which are now pieces, but I digress. She really doesn't want to get involved with Endeavour again if she can help it and just start fresh leaving everything of her old life behind her. Sadly, that also means give up on Shoto completely. Which she was prepared to do in the start although not a completely sane at the time. the again the past as a funny way of hunting you…(serious I have so my ideas for that squeal. I just don't know if I'll have the energy for it.)
Dreamer-Sara – I see. Well hopefully you're feeling a little better and not so disappointed that this has come to an end for the time being.
Liziliza – well he kind of has in away. Honestly, I feel like Endeavour always had insecurity issues. Even in cannon.
A friendly dude – I wouldn't say dark as it was more so 'god damn it Endeavour.' anyway that's all. See you next season.
For those of you who have read this far or have noticed this. A little fare well for now treat.
Bous teaser for season 2 –
Everything disappeared right before my eyes.
Scratch
All that remained was dusk.
Scratch
I did a bad thing didn't I?
Scratch
That's why no one looks at me.
Scratch
That's why they all turn away from me.
Scratch
That's why I'm so itchy
Itchy itchy itchy itchy
This is it. I can't move anymore. I don't have the strength. I feel so heavy. I can't even get up.
Won't someone help me?
"Are you ok?"
I opened my heavy eyes. There a saw a hand reaching out to me. This was the first time someone has reach out to me. My eyes travelled upwards. There they meet a pair of wide green eyes. There was another boy behind him with curious but cautious eyes.
"You look like you need help, kid."
Who are they?
