Chapter 6 – Draco
Saturday morning found Harry and Narcissa looking around an outdated but beautiful country manor in Scotland. It was slightly bigger than Malfoy Manor, but not nearly as imposing. The floor plan was open and inviting and filled with light. Narcissa let out a very unladylike squeal when she saw the garden and Harry was equally impressed with the amount of room there was to fly. It had been unoccupied for many years and was a bit dirty, but it was clearly very well taken care of when it was occupied. There was no major damage or repairs needed. They both loved the house and Harry had made up his mind that he would buy it before they even went to look at the other four. After dinner they decided to spend the evening in the library at Grimmauld Place. Harry quickly led Narcissa to the back, where he had found the Black archives after their first date.
"Feel free to take anything that you'd like. I imagine they mean more to you then they do to me. I already found what I was looking for," said Harry as he watched Narcissa scan the shelves. "Or you can leave them all here, and it will give you a reason to come visit."
"You are the only reason I need Harry," Narcissa said sincerely. "But thank you, I will let you know if there is anything I would like to take. What was it you were looking for?" Harry blushed.
"Well, Walburga said you like flowers, but she wouldn't tell me what kind of flowers, so I did some research."
"I see, and what did you find?" she asked curiously.
"That you were named after the flower Narcissus. I didn't know if daffodils were technically your favorite flower, but I figured that they would at least mean something to you," stated Harry. Narcissa laughed.
"I had wondered how you possibly could have known how much I like them. They are in fact my favorite flower," said Narcissa.
"Good, I'm glad I got it right. I would hate to have asked you on a second date with flowers you hate," said Harry. Narcissa looked at him fondly and then walked over and ran her fingers through his hair before pulling him in for a lingering kiss.
"I still would have said yes," she whispered when she pulled away. Harry smiled at her and then brought their lips together again, before taking her hand.
"Here, there is one that I found that I thought you might like so I made a copy of it for you, as well as one for Andromeda," said Harry as he handed her the photo album from the middle shelf. Narcissa ran her fingers over the cover reverently before opening it. She gasped as she flipped through page after page of her and her sisters growing up.
"I didn't realize that mother kept all of these. I saw her taking pictures sometimes, but I never saw them hanging up or anything. I had wondered what she'd done with them. Thank you, Harry, this is a wonderful gift," said Narcissa as she looked up at him with tears in her eyes.
"You're welcome," he said as stroked her cheek lovingly.
"Want to play some more of that strip game?" asked Narcissa. Harry groaned. "I may even let you win a few rounds."
Sunday morning they went to Andromeda's. This time Narcissa was really looking forward to it and made them leave early. She even brought a gift for Teddy that she wouldn't let Harry see. Harry was only slightly surprised by how full his heart felt as he watched Narcissa and Andromeda talk while Teddy flew his new fire breathing dragon around the room grinning at his 'Aunt Cissy' with adoration. He had gotten used to how happy he felt with Narcissa around and moments like this, with the rest of his family, were everything he'd ever hoped for. He felt completely content and at peace, something he had never felt before.
Tuesday morning Harry woke up after another fitful night's sleep. It was getting harder and harder to let Narcissa go home after their weekends together. He tried to stay focused on his work, but his mind kept wandering to his sexy new girlfriend and what in Merlin's name he was going to say to Draco at dinner tonight. 'This is going to be so awkward. He's going to be livid I know it. Maybe I should let him get one or two shots in before I put up my shield, something small like a stunner. Let him get some of the anger out so he'll calm down. Does he even know how to cast a stunner? No, he'll probably go for an AK straight out of the gate, just to get rid of me.' Harry was starting to sweat when he was pulled out of his thoughts by a familiar cough from the doorway.
"We were supposed to meet ten minutes ago Harry," said Kingsley with an amused smirk.
"Sorry minister, I'm a bit distracted today," said Harry.
"I can see that. What's on your mind?" asked the minister.
"I'm having dinner with Narcissa tonight- and Draco," Harry said. Kingsley winced in sympathy.
"Good luck with that. Do you have the weekly reports for me?" asked the minister.
Yes, right here," Harry said as he took them from the top of a small pile of paperwork on his desk and handed them over.
"I'll look these over and let you know if I have any questions or concerns, but I doubt I will. You can get back to running through worse case scenarios," said Kingsley with a wink. Harry blushed.
"I'll see you Friday at that muggle tavern we went to last week, if you're still alive. Feel free to bring your new girlfriend," said Kingsley with a wide smile as he left.
When Harry got home from work that night, he changed into the best dinner clothes he had and took some deep breathes while he stared at himself in the mirror 'Alright here goes nothing.'
He apparated to the gates of Malfoy Manor and walked up to the imposing double doors. He took a deep breath and knocked. The doors opened quicker than he expected, and Harry found himself nearly pushed back down the stairs from the force of Narcissa's embrace. They kissed for several long minutes before Narcissa pulled away panting.
"Sorry, I needed to do that so I could control myself later," said Narcissa with a sultry smirk.
"I don't mind," replied Harry as he pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head gently. "I've missed you."
"I've missed you too. Are you ready for this? I have no idea how he will react. I have been running various scenarios through my head all day, but I have no clue what to expect," said Narcissa nervously.
"Whatever happens we'll deal with it. I just want you in my life Narcissa. I'll do whatever I have to, to keep you," Harry said. Narcissa smiled at him and leaned up to kiss his cheek.
"Let's get this over with," said Narcissa as she took his hand and marched inside, grim determination her eyes.
They walked into the formal dining room and sat down next to each other. Narcissa was nervously tapping her perfectly manicured fingernails on the table with one hand while the other was gripping Harry's thigh tightly. Harry tried not to grimace. They were only sitting there for a few minutes when Draco walked into the dining room
"Astoria will be down in a moment, she is..." started Draco, but he stopped mid-sentence when he saw who was sitting next to his mother.
"No, absolutely fucking not," yelled Draco as he drew his wand. "This is who you have been seeing mother?"
"Yes," said Narcissa uneasily. They both stood from the table and moved slightly apart, but neither of them drew their wands. Although Harry was itching to do so.
"How dare you take advantage of her?" screamed Draco.
"Draco! No one is taking advantage of me. I choose to be with Harry. He has been nothing but a gentleman," said Narcissa firmly.
"And you - you've been," Draco said to his mother as a blush began to creep up his face. He turned back to Harry with renewed fury in his eyes. "FLIPENDO."
Harry let the spell hit him, wincing when he hit the ground harder than he anticipated. Narcissa gasped and immediately ran to his side as he stood up with a groan.
"Does it give you some kind of sick satisfaction to be screwing my mother, Potter?" sneered Draco. "Take out your wand!" Harry didn't draw his wand, he just stepped away from Narcissa, so she was out of the way of any spell fire.
"I said take out your wand!" Draco yelled as he started haphazardly firing curses. Harry was forced to take out his wand to defend himself, and he quickly put up a shield that was large enough to protect him and Narcissa, but he didn't fire any spells. 'I hope she knows how much I care about her. I would much rather be tearing him to pieces right now.'
"It is not like that Draco. I love her, madly, desperately. I would do anything for her, and I plan to spend the rest of my life doing my absolute best to make her happy," Harry said, not fully comprehending what he had just said out loud. He was too wrapped up in maintaining his shield to notice Narcissa's soft gasp, but Draco didn't miss it and the angry fire in his belly grew when he noticed the bright smile on her face at his declaration. The curses started flying even faster then, many of them Harry had never seen before even as an Auror. Luckily, even with all of the anger powering his magic, Harry was still more powerful than Draco and his shield held.
"Fight back you bloody fucking coward! Fight back!" yelled Draco, as he began to slow down, his energy depleting.
"I can't do that Draco, I won't do anything to hurt her," said Harry. Draco paused for a moment, not understanding why Harry wouldn't fight back. His pause was just long enough for Narcissa to cast 'LEVICORPUS'.
"Draco, I told you to wait for me, why did you, ….. oh shit," said Astoria as she came through the doorway to see Draco hanging in the air by his ankles, face red with rage.
"I'm sorry Narcissa we were supposed to come down together," said Astoria.
"You knew about this?" spat Draco. He glared at her intensely for a moment before he turned back to his mother. "Put me down mother."
"Only if you promise to be civil and stop acting like a damn infant," scolded Narcissa.
"Fine," said Draco. Narcissa waved her wand and slowly brought Draco to the floor.
"You can go now Potter, my mother will no longer be needing whatever – services you are providing," said Draco with a sneer that would rival his father's.
"Draco! How dare you! You have no right to make him leave. I did my duty to Lucius and have given everything and done anything for you. You are grown, you have your own life now. I deserve a chance to live mine. He makes me incredibly happy and treats me better than anyone ever has, that should be enough for you," said Narcissa barely able to control her own anger at her son's behavior. Draco watched as Harry walked over to Narcissa and gave her a soft kiss, which she immediately melted into.
"Get out of here," growled Draco.
"Draco! You can't kick your mother out; this is her house," said Astoria, finally getting over the shock of what she walked in on and joining the conversation. "She's the one who owns it and besides it's a horrible thing to do. Where will she go?"
'That's not what I meant. Of course, you can stay mother," said Draco.
"No, if Harry is not welcome than neither am I. I'll go. I know when I'm not wanted," whispered Narcissa. She gave Draco a sad look and then took Harry's hand. "Let's go love."
Harry nodded and they walked past Draco and towards the front door.
"When you are ready to accept Harry I will come back," said Narcissa.
"I will never accept him," said Draco. Narcissa looked like her heart was breaking.
"I sincerely hope that is not true," she whispered and then turned and defiantly walked out the front door, hand in hand with Harry. As soon as they reappeared at Grimmauld Place, Narcissa broke down in his arms. Harry wasn't sure what to do to comfort her, so he just held her and kissed her temple. When she didn't seem like she was going to stop crying anytime soon he carried her up to the master bedroom and gently placed her in the bed before wrapping himself around her in a tight embrace. When he felt her shaking began to lessen, he spoke.
"I'm so sorry Narcissa. I had hoped it would go a little better than that," said Harry. Narcissa sighed.
"It's not your fault. Thank you for not hurting him or letting him bait you. I'm very proud of how you handle things tonight. I can't believe you actually let him hit you with a spell. I know you could have blocked it," Narcissa said with a smirk, but her smile didn't quite reach her eyes. "I wish he was a better man; I truly do wish someday he will stop being so much like his father and become his own man. He is still young, so I suppose there is hope."
"He cares for you Narcissa. He was just acting rashly. I'm a Gryffindor, I know what that's like. He will realize that you are more important than his dislike of me and come around. Just give him some time. We may never be friends, but I imagine with time we can come to tolerate each other," Harry said as he rubbed soothing circles on her back. Narcissa looked up at him with puffy red eyes and smeared makeup. Harry thought she'd never looked more beautiful. She smiled at him, brightly and genuine this time.
"I love you too Harry," she whispered. Harry gave her the biggest smile he had to offer and chuckled.
"So you heard that then," he said slightly embarrassed.
"I did," she replied.
"That's not how I wanted to tell you," said Harry.
"I'm sure it wasn't, it's not how I wanted to hear it for the first time either, but you can say it again now, if you want, and we can make this the first time," said Narcissa shyly.
Harry nodded enthusiastically and then kissed her tenderly. With his hand gently stroking her chin he looked into her eyes and whispered, "I love you Narcissa."
"I love you too," she said as she grabbed the sides of his face and pulled him in for a searing kiss.

When Harry woke up, Narcissa was still sound asleep, so he slowly maneuvered himself out of her embrace and went to the study.
"Kreacher," he called as he sat down.
"How can Kreacher serve young master?" Kreacher asked as he appeared in a slight bow. Harry quickly finished scribbling out instructions on a sheet of parchment, signed it, and then put his house seal on the bottom along with a drop of blood.
"Take this to Gringotts, please. I would like Narcissa added to my vault and the property listed purchased as soon as possible," Kreacher nodded, took the note and popped away. Harry made a quick floo call to the minister and then went into the kitchen and made a light breakfast and brought it up to Narcissa on a tray. She was just starting to stir when he walked into the bedroom.
"Good morning beautiful," he said as he set the tray down on the table next to the bed.
"Hmm, good morning. Did you make me breakfast? It smells wonderful," she commented, as she sat up and took a big whiff of air as she stretched.
"I did," he said as he leaned in and kissed her. "I love you," he said as he pulled away and sat down next to her on the edge of the bed.
"I love you too," she replied with a smile.
"You know I don't think I've ever said that to anyone before, but I really like saying it to you," Harry said as he placed the tray over her lap and stole a slice of toast. Narcissa's eyes saddened at his revelation, as she kissed him tenderly on the cheek.
"Well I like hearing it, so you can say it anytime you want," said Narcissa. Harry nodded. When she was done with her breakfast Harry led her into a hot shower.
"I took the day off, there is something I would like to do with you instead. If that's alright," said Harry.
"That's fine, but I'm not sure how long it will be until I can go back to Malfoy Manor, so I really should focus on finding somewhere to live. I don't want to impose on you," said Narcissa.
"I promise it's no imposition, don't worry Narcissa we'll work it all out," said Harry. Narcissa moaned as he began to massage shampoo into her hair and slowly relaxed into his chest. When they got out of the shower Harry was glad to see Narcissa looking a lot better than she had the night before. He quickly got dressed and went back to the study to gather the things Kreacher had returned with. 'It's amazing how quickly the goblins can get something done with the right incentive.'
When Narcissa came down the stairs, Harry took her by the hand and apparated them to their destination, pulling Narcissa in for a passionate kiss as soon as they arrived.
Narcissa looked around in surprise.
"This is the house we looked at on Saturday," she said in questioning surprise.
"Yes, I bought it this morning," he said as they walked inside. "I would ask you to live with me, but I know we've only been dating for a couple weeks and I didn't want you to feel forced into anything. I figured you could live here, and I could live at Grimmauld Place, at least until we're ready for - you know - living together," said Harry with a deepening blush. "You can pay rent or something if that makes you more comfortable with the arrangement. I just want you to have somewhere safe to live and know that you are alright." Narcissa's eyes welled with tears as she pulled him to her and held him tight.
"I don't deserve you," she whispered.
"Yes you do, you deserve every moment of happiness I can give you," Harry replied. Narcissa looked around.
"I guess I could ask Kreacher to bring over some of the furniture from Malfoy Manor," she said.
"Don't bother," said Harry as he handed her an old skeleton key and a bottomless bag. Narcissa eyes him curiously.
"This is a key to your vault?" she asked
"Yes, that way you can buy whatever you need for the place. Make it your own. I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever you choose to do," Harry said. Narcissa looked thoughtful for a moment.
"What if I spend all your money?" she asked with a smirk. Harry laughed.
"I doubt you could, but I guess if you do then we will just have to live off of your money," said Harry with a wink. Narcissa smiled at him.
"I'll buy the house elf," she countered. "And pay for all of my own needs once the house is furnished."
"Deal," said Harry easily. Narcissa kissed him passionately.
"I'll still have to stay with you for a couple days until everything arrives," said Narcissa as she took his hand.
"That's okay with me," said Harry as they began to walk back outside.
"Thank you, Harry, for this. I really do love this house," she responded.
"I know, me too. I look forward to the day that I can live here, with you," said Harry shyly. When they got back outside Narcissa asked Kreacher to get her personal things from Malfoy Manor.
"I think I'd like to do the shopping now," she said in excitement. Harry laughed.
"Alright, do you need me to tag along or can I – well – not go?" asked Harry sheepishly.
"Do you want to come?" she asked playfully
"Not particularly," Harry replied. Narcissa laughed.
"Well then, you can go back to Grimmauld Place, and I promise to be done in time to join you for dinner," Narcissa responded.
"Works for me," said Harry as he gave Narcissa a chaste kiss. While Narcissa apparated to Diagon Alley, Harry went back inside and connected the floo to Grimmauld Place and then he was off. When he arrived, he was greeted by a teary-eyed and distraught Astoria standing in the lounge with a suitcase.
"I left Draco. I didn't know where else to go," she said sadly.
"Um – well - you are welcome to stay here for as long as you need. There's plenty of room," said Harry. Astoria nodded her head in thanks. It was silent for several minutes and then Astoria dropped her suitcase and launched herself at Harry.
"Thank you," she said as she began to cry. Harry awkwardly patted her shoulder. 'Do I have some kind of welcome sign for distraught witches lately?'
"Let me show you to one of the guest rooms," said Harry as he pulled away from her and picked up her suitcase. Once she was settled in the room, he sent an owl to Narcissa asking her to come as soon as she was done shopping. He had no idea what to do with Astoria on his own.
A few hours later Narcissa walked through the fireplace with a concerned frown on her face.
"I came as soon as I saw your owl, is everything okay?" she asked as she came over and kissed him languidly and sat down next to him on the sofa.
"Astoria is here. Apparently, she left Draco and didn't have anywhere to go. I offered her a room here. I just - uh - I'm not sure what to do- I'm not good with girl stuff," said Harry. Narcissa laughed.
"I don't know Harry. You did splendidly with me last night. I think you are better with girl 'stuff' then you give yourself credit for," said Narcissa as she removed her shoes with a wince. "Ah, that's much better."
"Yes well, I assumed you didn't want me to use those same methods with Astoria," said Harry. Narcissa turned and smirked at him.
"Hmm, no, I think I'd rather keep those methods all to myself. I'll go talk to her," said Narcissa with a sigh. Harry nodded in relief.
"Oh good, the only thing I have planned is to speak with Kreacher about dinner so I should still be here when you're done. Then, I can rub your feet if you want, if they are sore," said Harry with a smile. Narcissa gave him a soft kiss.
"All the more reason to hurry back," she said as she stood. "I love you, I'll be back soon."
"I love you, too," Harry responded. He grabbed her hands and pulled her back down for a leisurely kiss, then he let go of her hands so she could leave, and watched in satisfaction as she sauntered out of the room.
o – o – o – o – o
Narcissa took a deep breath and then went upstairs to look for Astoria. Only one of the guest room doors were closed so she assumed that was the one she was in. She knocked softly and waited for a response.
"Come in," Astoria whispered. Narcissa opened the door and Astoria immediately started crying again at the sight of her.
"What happened dear," she said as she sat down at the end of the bed.
"When you left Draco and I fought. I was so angry at him for how he treated you and Harry, and he was angry with me for knowing and not telling him. In the morning we kept fighting and he told me that if I sided with you then I could leave too. So, I packed a bag and went to the last location you had floo'd to, hoping it would lead me to either you or Harry," explained Astoria.
"I'm sorry for Draco's behavior Astoria. I thought I raised him better than that. Harry is convinced he'll come around. I guess we'll have to wait and see," responded Narcissa.
"Will you be staying here too?" asked Astoria in embarrassment, thinking about how awkward it would be to be living with her and her new boyfriend.
"Um no, Harry has - helped me find somewhere to live, somewhere we hopefully will live in together some day. We just weren't ready for that yet," responded Narcissa. Astoria nodded. They talked for a while longer and when Astoria seemed to be in better spirits Narcissa took her leave.
"Dinner will be ready at six, dear," said Narcissa as she left.
"Alright, thank you." Narcissa nodded and headed downstairs. She found Harry in the lounge as promised. When he smiled at her and tapped his lap, she quickly went over and sat down, arranging herself so that her feet were comfortably in his lap. She thought about her life now, and laughed at the irony of falling in love with the boy-who-defeated-Voldemort. 'Oh, what would my parents think if they could see me now.' She sighed. 'I hope Draco will come around soon, and want to be a part of our lives, but even if he doesn't, I know my life will be filled with more than enough happiness with Harry.' Narcissa was pulled out of her thoughts by Harry's gentle voice.
"Would you like to come with me to have drinks with Kingsley on Friday? He said I could invite you along so you wouldn't be imposing," said Harry as he began to rub her feet.
"Sure it would be nice to see Kingsley in a casual setting. Would it be less awkward if we brought someone along, you know make it like a double date sort of thing?" asked Narcissa as she closed her eyes in contentment.
"Oh, I didn't think about that. Maybe? Why, did you have someone in mind?" asked Harry.
"Yes, my sister." Said Narcissa seriously.
"Your sister?" Harry thought about it for a few minutes. "Why not, she deserves a nice night out if nothing else. Do you think she'll go?"
"I will do my best to pursued her," said Narcissa. Harry laughed.
"I won't ask." Said Harry. "How long do you think Astoria will be staying?"
"Who knows. They are both stubborn. She has left before, but I have a feeling she won't be going back this time," replied Narcissa.
"That's too bad, I was really enjoying having sex in whatever room we wanted, whenever we wanted," said Harry with a smirk.
"Well, you can come visit me whenever you want Harry. We haven't christened any of the rooms in the new place yet," responded Narcissa as she nudged Harry's hands to tell him to move to her other foot.
"I look forward to it," he said as he kissed the top of her foot gently.
Astoria came down to see Narcissa relaxing into the arm of the sofa with a content smile on her face while she talked about some shopping she had done today, and Harry massaged her feet. The thing that surprised her the most was that Harry was actually listening to everything Narcissa was saying, like really listening, as if he was interested in what she was saying. He was asking questions and sneaking longing looks at her while she talked. Their happiness together practically radiated out of the room. 'Why would anyone want to get in the way of that.' Astoria sighed. 'Draco was never like that with me, not even in the beginning. He never really seemed interested in me like that. Narcissa is a lucky woman.' She stepped into the room and Narcissa smiled over at her but kept her feet firmly in Harry's lap.
"Hello dear, is it time for dinner already?" Narcissa asked.
"No, I was just - bored I guess," said Astoria. Narcissa nodded and moved so her feet were on the ground in front of her.
"Well, have a seat, I'm sure we can find something to pass the time," said Narcissa kindly.
o – o – o – o – o
The next morning, Narcissa went to Andromeda's once Harry left for work. Andromeda scowled at her when she frantically opened the door.
"You know it is considered rude to show up at someone's house without sending an owl," said Andromeda firmly.
"Just let me in Andromeda. I'm surprised, I thought you would have grown out of being so grumpy in the mornings," replied Narcissa with a soft smile.
"Fine," huffed Andromeda as she turned towards the kitchen to make some coffee. "Why are you here?" Narcissa smirked at her sister.
"To ask you to go on a double date with Harry and I tomorrow night," Narcissa said simply.
"What are you Madam Fyndu now? I don't need to be set up. I am perfectly happy as things are," said Andromeda defiantly.
"Really? Chasing a toddler around all day, by yourself, is your idea of fulfilling companionship? Come on Andromeda, I even did the work of finding you a very good sitter. Come with us, get out of the house, have a little fun. If you don't like the guy fine, but hopefully it will at least be a fun night out. Please, for your favorite little sister," said Narcissa as she fluttered her eyelashes.
"Now your begging? Isn't that unbecoming of a woman of your stature," said Andromeda, but Narcissa could see the hint of a smile and knew she was getting through. "Who's the sitter?"
"Astoria, Draco's fiancé -well ex-fiancé I suppose, maybe, long story, but she's living with Harry for a while and said she would be happy to watch him at Grimmauld place or come here if you prefer," said Narcissa.
"I'm sensing there's an interesting story there, tell me every sordid detail and I'll go." Said Andromeda with a smirk.
"Very well," replied Narcissa with a melodramatic sigh. Andromeda was looking at her in stunned surprise by the time she finished.
"Harry said he loved you? He just blurted it out like that, in the middle of a fight with Draco, wow!" Andromeda exclaimed.
"Yes, I don't think he even realized what he'd said right away. He told me that he was disappointed that's how I found out, but he said it again later and it was perfect that time," said Narcissa with a glazed look and fond smile.
"As was the sex afterwards?" said Andromeda knowingly.
"Maybe," said Narcissa blushing.
"Gah, you're right I really do need to get out. I refuse to live vicariously through your sex life with someone half your age" said Andromeda with a chuckle. " I can't believe he basically bought you a mansion to live in and then gave you unrestricted access to his vault."
"Me either," replied Narcissa.
"Wow, has too much sex and declarations of love turned his head to mush?" Andromeda asked. Both women laughed. When Narcissa got home she sent Harry an owl letting him know that Andromeda accepted the invitation and then waited for the furniture that was being delivered that afternoon.
o – o – o – o – o
When Harry got Narcissa's owl he immediately sent a department memo to the minister letting him know Narcissa was bringing a friend and to dress to impress. His return memo of "Is she hot?" went ignored.
Friday evening after work Harry got to Grimmauld Place only moments before Astoria did. They gave each other a nod and then both went upstairs to change. When Harry got back downstairs, Narcissa was there checking her appearance in the mirror and talking to her aunt while she waited for Andromeda and Teddy.
"Hello beautiful," said Harry as he approached. Narcissa looked over at him with a bright smile.
"Hello, my love," she replied as she leaned up and gave him a searing kiss "How was your day." Harry shrugged.
"Uneventful. How was yours?" asked Harry as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.
"It was fine, the last of the furniture was delivered and I have gotten a house elf, so by the time I return everything should be in order," said Narcissa.
"And when is that?" asked Harry.
"Pardon?"
"When do you plan to return?" clarified Harry as he tried to hide his disappointment.
"Well, that depends on whether you want to stay the night with me tomorrow night. If not, I will go back Monday morning," replied Narcissa.
"I'd love to stay with you," said Harry with a beaming smile.
"Good," said Narcissa as she kissed him chastely, but Harry had other ideas and when she went to pull away, he tightened his hold around her waist with one hand and moved the other up her back as he deepened the kiss. Eventually they were forced to pull apart when they heard a knock at the front door.
"About time," said Walburga grimly. "I thought you were going to snog all night." Harry rolled his eyes and went to answer the door. He was nearly knocked over by the force of his godson throwing himself at his legs. Walburga began to scream at the sight of Andromeda, but she was quickly silenced by Narcissa.
"Grandma says I get to stay the night at your house tonight," said Teddy excitedly.
"Yah buddy, my friend Astoria is going to hang out with you and then I'll be here to make you breakfast in the morning," said Harry.
"Yay," Teddy yelled as he ran into the house. The adults followed him into the lounge where Narcissa introduced him to Astoria. Astoria was great with him, and they seemed to hit it off well, so after watching from the doorway for a while they felt comfortable enough leaving that they each gave Teddy a kiss and then headed out.
Harry apparated all three of them to an alley in London and then they walked towards the muggle pub Harry and Kingsley had discovered the week before. They liked it because it was busy enough that they could blend into the crowd and not be noticed, but not so busy that the service suffered. They got a table in the corner and Harry went up to the bar to order everyone a drink. When he returned Andromeda took a few sips and then excused herself to the restroom. Kingsley walked in a few moments later.
"Sorry Harry, I got held up," said Kingsley as he sat down.
"No problem Kingsley, we understand. Nice outfit by the way. I'm not sure that's what I meant by dress to impress" said Harry, smirking at his borderline 60's hippie outfit. Kingsley just ignored him and gave his attention to Narcissa instead.
"Miss Black. It is a pleasure to see you again. I hope you are well," he said.
"Yes very well, thank you minister," replied Narcissa.
"Please, Kingsley tonight, or Shacklebolt if you must, but no minister. Tonight, I am just Harry's friend meeting his new girlfriend," said Kingsley.
"Very well - Kingsley, then I hope you will call me Narcissa," she responded with a cordial smile. Kingsley nodded.
"So where is your friend?" he asked looking around with interest.
"She went to the restroom; she'll be back shortly. What are you having Kingsley?" asked Harry. Kingsley shrugged.
"Surprise me."
"Very well, dragon piss coming right up," Harry said with a smirk. He kissed Narcissa on the cheek then stood up. "I'll be back." Narcissa and Kingsley looked at each other awkwardly for a moment before Shacklebolt broke the tension.
"It is nice to see Harry so happy. I am glad he has found love with you Narcissa. I hope you will be very happy together," he said.
"Thank you, Kingsley," said Narcissa with a genuine smile. They talked amiably until Andromeda returned from the restroom, eyes wide as she noticed who her 'date' was.
"Kingsley?" she whispered.
"Andromeda? It has been a very long time. What a pleasure," he said as he moved to pull out her seat for her. "How did you- oh right - sisters."
"Yes, apparently I am not capable of getting my own dates these days," said Andromeda with a flirtatious smirk as she looked over at Kingsley.
"Well you're in good company, I'm apparently not either," said Kingsley as he took back his seat. Andromeda laughed and Narcissa smiled into her drink.
A/N I will be holiday for the next ten days so it may be a couple weeks until I post again, but I will go back to posting as regularly as possible when I return. Thanks for reading!
