Kuen spent the rest of the day mostly focused on recovery in the base, with the sheer damage he had taken. Besides that, though, there wasn't much else, though Ren had been chatting with Ryo in the meanwhile. Ren, the most studious of the eight, had picked up quite a bit on the history of the Sword of Logos... though he was mostly entertaining Ryo's stories about Sora. Nora was also listening in with interest.

All in all, they were a good not-couple together.

Waking up in the small room the Sword of Logos had prepared for any injured members, Kuen groaned a little.

Though it was mostly out of the fact that he had to stretch his limbs. His injuries seemed to have mostly healed because of his Aura. He was at the very least, glad for that.

He got out of bed, before he would exit the room. And he was greeted by Ruby, who seemed to have waited behind.

"Where's everyone else?" Kuen asked.

"They've went back to Beacon. Though Weiss was a little cronky? Crinky? How do you say it?"

"Cranky, Rubes."

"Right."

Though, Kuen smiled warmly, a little appreciative that Ruby did choose to stay behind.

"You could have just gone back, you know. You didn't have to wait until I woke up."

"As your team leader, I feel that it is positively necessary!" Ruby was definitely acting more mature than she sounded.

"Fair." Kuen chuckled.

And as they opened the main entrance of the Sword of Logos, they would emerge on the other side, at the side entrance of Beacon Academy. The sun seemed to be almost setting, dipping into the horizon.

"It's not normal that I get to see the sunset like this." Kuen noted.

"Why so?"

"I normally spend most evenings either working or studying, so this is a change of pace for me." He warmly smiled.

And the two arrived at their dorm rooms, though Kuen lingered on something he'd heard earlier.

"Wait, you told me Weiss was cranky, right?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you confronted her about it?"

She nodded, giving a brief 'no', as Kuen would then inquire.

"You wanna go talk to her about it? I figure we could get this over with before it's too late in the night."

Ruby softly chuckled. And they arrived at the dorm room of Team RWBY, as Kuen waited outside. For a brief few seconds, Ruby peeked into the room, asking a question to Yang. And then she would step out of the room.

"Weiss isn't there?"

She nodded in agreement, as he thought for a bit.

"Maybe she's at the classes?"

"Good idea!"

And so the two walked in the direction of the classes. Though, Ozpin seemed to be observing them intently from the confines of his office. How so... was uncertain.

Weiss stood within the Combat classroom, as she swung her rapier around furiously. There was almost an underlying aura of anger to her movements, as she almost lashed out, in a sense. Ruby and Kuen gently pushed the door open, having heard the sounds of Weiss' rapier, which were frankly very recognizable.

"Weiss," Kuen asked politely. "Ruby told me you were a little... cranky earlier. What gives?"

Weiss turned to the two reds, stomping her feet as she walked towards them.

"You!" Weiss pointed to Ruby, speaking with a heavy tone of anger. "You're supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!"

Ruby looked confused. "What did I do?"

"That's just it – you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so!"

Ruby felt hurt, asking, "Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about 'working together'? I thought you believed in acting as a team."

"Not a team led by you. I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. Ozpin made a mistake."

Ruby almost froze, before she began running away, dejected and with tears in her eyes. However, Kuen grabbed her arm just in the nick of time, though he was admittedly reluctant to do so. And as he stared down the heiress in white, he could feel his own anger bubbling to the surface.

"You. Explain. Now." Kuen stated bluntly, foregoing his usual politeness. The situation had devolved, so it was no longer required. "Tell me. Why did Ozpin make a mistake?"

"I believe Ruby doesn't have potential to be a good leader." Weiss scoffed.

Ruby looked much more hurt, but Kuen was quickly coming back with the counter-attack.

"On what do you base this exactly?" He shot back.

"She was goofing off during the teacher's class."

"Are you fucking serious? You know how Port is, and to consider her unworthy just because of that moment?!" He was a little fuming, but he tried to manage the almost-temper tantrum he was having.

"She's childish!" Weiss retorted.

"Joyful."

"Naïve!"

"Pure. Optimistic."

"Ignorant!"

"Aware when you least expect it."

"Uncooperative!"

"Unused to having a team."

And then, it was almost as if time froze, the room going completely quiet. Ruby was almost looking up to Kuen, considering that he had just basically defended her. And Weiss was stunned, and did not say anything more.

"If that is what you're claiming, Weiss..." Kuen took a deep breath. "Then you're an idiot."

Weiss was just about to argue again, but he overrode her own words.

"First, we've barely been teams for a day. Save your judgment for later, when we actually make it through a few months. Second, Ozpin does make mistakes. Everyone does. Even me. But I don't think that her becoming leader was a mistake." He pointed to Ruby.

And Kuen continued, "Because he sees the potential in her. Hell, you're the one calling Ruby uncooperative when you're the one who's grunting earlier."

Weiss just simply looked at him with a pouty face.

"What, it's not my fault that you're the one acting like it's a chore."

"Well, why'd you even drag us into this in the first place?!"

"I told you already! If I didn't do it now, eventually it would happen. Knowing the Megid, I'm worried they're going to attack more personal targets. And you see the problem with that?!"

Weiss was stunned by that. She didn't realize he actually meant that seriously.

"I don't mean to be rude, Weiss, but Ruby has managed to do quite a bit more kills than you. Sure, it might not mean much to you, but to me, it does."

And Kuen paused, taking a deep breath.

"Now you two; apologize to each other," And he gestured to the door. "Would you like me to step outside?"

Ruby gave a simple nod, and Kuen obliged, stepping outside.

He waited outside of the classroom, figuring he wouldn't peek on the conversation between the two. And as he stared at the Jackun-to-Domamenoki Wonder Ride Book in his hand, he lamented on his situation.

He really was unused to dealing with these types of situations. Dealing with his brother's temper tantrums? Those were still possible, though they were reliant on circumstances. But these? Nope. It was a good thing he didn't put 'counselor' on his college resume back in the day.

As if that mattered anyways.

And as Ruby peeked through the door, staring at Kuen, she would let him in. Kuen smiled softly, entering the room, as the two seemed to have already made it up.

And now he asks the obvious.

"So... you two have already made up?"

"Yep." The two girls responded at the same time.

He kept his smile up, though he wasn't quite sure that this whole thing between them was up and done with... it felt like it was done a bit too fast...

"We should get back. It's already late at night. Besides! I don't want Professor Goodwitch on our ass like this. Who knows what she's thinking if we get found out like this.."

Ruby's eyes widened. "You're right!"

And so the two girls scrambled, though Kuen quickly intercepted.

"You two go first! I need to handle a few more things!"

With that, Kuen was left alone to his thoughts, though he needed to go handle his night prayers, and then some. Having the wind knocked out of him caused him to miss two of them, after all.

And this was an expected, yet completely unexpected encounter. As Kuen returned to his dorm room, he stumbled upon a certain Professor Goodwitch.

"What brings you here at this hour, Mr. Akegata?"

He shrugged. "Nothing much, Professor. Had to settle a mediation early, but it's mostly cooled down right now?"

"Is that why I saw Ms. Rose and Ms. Schnee walking back to their dorm room earlier?"

"I suppose you could say that. Though I had to stay behind because of other reasons."

"Care to explain?" Glynda held her riding crop in her hand.

Kuen was obviously frightened.

"Prayers. There's always a class I use whenever it's empty to do prayers."

Professor Goodwitch nodded, though she wasn't completely letting him off the hook. But since it was already an hour or two to midnight, she'd decided to let him go. He wasn't lingering around too late, after all.

And so Kuen returned to his room, though he simply smiled at his professor.

"Have a good night, Professor Goodwitch."

As Kuen stepped back into the confines of the dormitories, he figured he'd get something over with. He was sort of struggling with Dust studies, and he knew just the right person to ask. Walking to Team RWBY's dormitory room, he gently knocked on the door, hoping that the person he wanted to ask was still awake.

"Weiss? You still up?" Kuen softly called.

His answer was immediately provided by said female, who opened the door, clad in her pajamas.

"What brings you here at this hour?"

"Two reasons. First, I wanted to check up on Ruby. How is she?"

She creaked the door open a little, seeing Ruby avidly studying on her bed. There seemed to be a few books laying on the mattress, as a small lamp illuminated her studying field.

Kuen couldn't help but softly smile.

Weiss then interrupted the moment.

"Can we talk about this in private?"

"What is this about, Weiss?"

"Like I said, in private."

"Right..."

The two headed to the balcony at the end of the dormitory wing. The scenery was, as always, an absolute marvel to behold. But that was not why they were there in the first place.

"I wanted to apologi-"

"Don't worry about it, Weiss. It's up and done by now."

"Wait, what?"

"If you no longer have anything against Ruby, well, I have nothing against you."

The two chuckled.

"Though, I do have something I would like to ask." Kuen added.

Weiss raised an eye.

"Dust studies. I don't think I'm going to be the kind of guy who'll understand it exceptionally well... so well. I need a tutor, and it turns out you're the Dust maestro. You can see where I'm coming at."

"So you want me to teach you?"

"To put it bluntly. Yes."

"I mean... sure?"

Suddenly, their moment was interrupted by Kuen's phone suddenly ringing.

"What the- who's calling at this hour?"

Kuen fished the phone out of his pocket, as he answered the call. Though, it was an unknown number, so... well.

"Yes? Eh- Shindo-san? Mhmm? You need me to pick up something from the Northern Base? Right. Right. I'll be there soon."

And he ended the call, placing his phone into his pocket.

"Well," Kuen sighed. "I need to go pick up something from the Sword of Logos base. Must have forgotten it earlier. Wanna follow?"

Weiss looked confused. "Dressed like this?"

"I didn't say you were required to follow." Kuen noted.

"Right."

And Weiss told Kuen to pause for a brief moment, as she quickly ran to her room.

'This is so unlike her. What the hell is going on?' Kuen wondered to himself. 'Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Or something.'

And as quickly as she ran, she returned, now somewhat more casual for the night. It was still in her pajamas, but with her normal suit on top.

"You confuse me."

Weiss looked confused.

"Never mind." Kuen added.

And so Kuen pulled out the Book Gate Wonder Ride Book from his pocket. Finding the nearest door, he would push the Wonder Ride Book, linking it to the door.

BOOK GATE! OPEN GATE!
ブックゲート!オープンゲート!
Bukku Gēto! Ōpun Gēto!

And as he opened the door, the two stepped into the portal, casually travelling through. A minute later, they were unsurprisingly already at the Sword of Logos Northern Base. And stepping through, they were greeted by Rintaro, who seemed to be already waiting for them. Though, there was another unfamiliar face he didn't recognize, though the yellow sword in the individual's hand seemed to give away something...

Kuen awkwardly bowed, as politely as he possibly could. Immediately, however, the one wielding the yellow sword would smile, chuckling a little.

"Pardon the odd interactions. I'm Kento. Kento Fukamiya."

Kento extended his hand out for a handshake. Kuen figured that it wouldn't hurt, and so he shook the other's hand, the smile turning from awkward to normal.

And as the brief handshake stopped, Kuen turned to Rintaro.

"So I took it that you needed me to pick up something? ...did I leave something behind earlier when I fully recovered?"

Sophia emerged from the bookshelves, as she smiled softly.

"Nothing of the sorts. There was something we figured Daishinji should be making, considering his skills in the arts of sword forging."

Kuen paused.

"Wait, you're telling me the one in the robes was the blacksmith of the Sword of Logos?" He blinked. "Interesting..."

And Daishinji emerged from a door located next to the base's infirmary, holding a yellow sword in his hand. Kuen was caught by surprise, as he noticed the two swords' similarities. Daishinji would toss the sword to Kuen, as he caught it in his hand.

"I made it on the behest of Sophia-san. Something about how your world needs more swordsmen to defend. Not sure why it's necessary, but hey." Daishinji explained.

Kuen held it in his hand, though the sword whirred to life, yellow thunder emerging from the blade.

"I see potential in one of your party members as a swordsman."

Both Kuen and Weiss looked at each other. They clearly knew who she was referring to. Maybe Nora? Probably Nora.

At the same time, Daishinji would then toss a yellow Wonder Ride Book of some kind to Kuen. He held it in his hand, looking at it confusedly. And slowly, he would open the book, noticing an illustration of a yellow lamp with a pair of glowing blue eyes.
