The Law of Suprise.
Man of great power stood over a desk shuffling through paperwork, tossing some, crumpling others, it was a mess. Around him, members were arguing and hurling papers at each other as well as insults. This was war, a different time and different age, but war. If the paper were swords, half of them would be dead.
He leaned over with his palms placed flat on the table, ready to silences them all when all the sudden something, a feeling perhaps drew his eyes up.
He froze in place at the figure staring at him from the other side of the transparent glass walls. His lips parted, and he no longer heard the yelling or arguing.
He slowly stood straight up and then gracefully walked around the table and out the glass door. He never took his eyes off the man on the other side.
Suddenly a gaurd came running from around the corner of the sixty two-floor building made of glass. "I'm sorry sir we have no idea how he got-
Touga lifted his hand for silence. The gaurd bowed and backed away fearfully and grateful.
The 'intruder' smiled "Suprise,"
"How did you, I mean-" Touga was never one for lost words up until now.
"The well, the war is now over on the other side," The man shrugged.
"And the well?" Touga asked,
"Safely secured and well guarded but I'm afraid we can never return,"
Finally, Touga looked away "So you have come for payment,"
"I came to see you; It has been many, many years,"
Touga looked at him. He was no longer a young Monk, but a well-aged man.
"Did you hope to go back?" The man asked,
"I always held some hope to return, but I would be lying if I wanted to return now, perhaps if you had shown up ten years ago Higurashi,"
The man smiled
"Do you have a family?" Touga asked,
"Yes, they are here,"
"Do you have a place to stay?"
"All that was taken care off before I transported,"
Touga rose an eyebrow,
"I must confess I have been in this time for more than a decade,"
Touga turned shocked. Had he been so busy that he didnt even noticed a power flux, or feel this monk's present?
"How is your son?"
"Which one?" Then he shook his head, "You mean Sesshomaru,"
The man smiled
"Sesshomaru is Sesshomaru,"
"Which one?" The man questioned "Last I remember your wife refused to give you more than one,"
Touga smirked, "I have a younger son, Inuyasha, a halfling. You?" That topic was a subject for another day, perhaps.
"One daughter,"
Then something clicked in Touga's mind, "You did not come here just to see me," Thought he did wonder why it took his old friend so long to come to see him. Perhaps they would get to that.
"We are old friends even if my house was pledged to yours,"
"You saved my bloodline; I owe you a thousand lives you are within your rights to collect,"
The man sighed; he really was there just to see him.
"You could have let us all die, I have a feeling your fathers before you would have, no matter how loyal they may have been, you are truly my bounded brother and I will pay my debt to you even if it means life long service or handing over this empire," He glanced at the empire which right now was a bunch of mega-millionaire bickering.
Touga was worth billions.
"There is no need for that," Higurashi said with upped eyebrows,
"Then what?" Touga asked. Not every day, the common man would turn down billions of dollars.
"Will it make you feel better if I collect it?"
"Yes," Honestly it would,
"Very well, Law of surprise,"
Touga's eyebrows shot up "Law of Suprise?"
"Does this upset you?"
"Is it enough?"
"Nothing is more important to you heritage than your bloodline, its sacred, protected and immortal I can think of no better way to protect my bloodline and bond us like never before,"
Touga didnt hate the idea, hell the Higurashi and Tashio's went back all the way to be beginning of time and what he was asking for really wasn't all that much.
A marriage of two clans, why did he think of that?
"Very well, I agree to the law of surprise," The demon Lord and the Monk known as Higurashi shook hands. They were once again together, but soon the two houses would be bonded in a way like never before.
All that was left to do was tell Sesshomaru and convince a young Miko that it was the rightful and honorable thing to do. How hard could that be? Perhaps there was a reason no one had thought of it before, of course, the Tahio's never owed a debt much less a life debt.
Touga thought it was an easy debt to be paid.
"I will go talk to my son," Touga bowed his head,
"I will await your call, you will find me by looking up the Higurashi shrine,"
"Very well," Touga smiled,
"To our children's future," Hirashio bowed, turned at left.
"Of all the things he could ask for," He spoke to himself. Of course, the Monk had not seen Sesshomaru since he was a child "Perhaps I should have arranged dinner before agreeing"
Touga shrugged; in truth, he thought he was getting the better end of the deal. He would be gaining a daughter; they would be gaining and cold, stoic unpleasant stick in the mud.
Touag looked back at the meeting room and rolled his eyes. Fools all of them. He should throw them all out the window, but suddenly he was in a good mood.
To bad his eldest son was about to ruin it for him.
