Wanna believe
It really was a beautiful day. The grass was a little greener. The flowers that touched her fingertips as she walked through them were all a little brighter. The water rushing in the river in front of her was louder, as if calling to her need of thirst. Kagome smiled and laughed like a child as she picked up her pace to get closer to the water.
It really was a beautiful day, except it was night time, and Kagome was asleep.
She just didn't know it, at least not yet. Not until she wakes up, and someone always wakes her up right before the good part.
"Kagome, Lady Kagome," Miroku shakes her, and Kagome yawns herself awake "I was just getting to the water," She pouted,
"Sorry, but Inuyasha is complaining that we have already missed valuable daylight,"
Now she was grumpy. What she would not give to roll back over, it was a Saturday after all.
"I told him you needed extra rest after dealing with that woman yesterday,"
"It ain't nothing we haven't dealt with before!" Inuyasha huffed,
"The woman literally tried to eat Kagome," Sango stated,
"Suck my soul off my bones is more like it," Kagome said, kicking off her sleeping back. She was really tired.
"What do you expect when you have the whole jewel and your immune to time!" Inuyasha pointed out.
"Hey, do you want Kikyo to stay alive or not? "Kagome snapped.
They quickly learned that so long as Kagome didn't wish on the jewel, Kikyo lived. In fact, so long as Kagome had the jewel and breathed in this time, Kikyo would live. They now believed that It was Kagome's untrained power that fueled Kikyo's soul to life, so it was natural to assume it was her power, trained with the jewel that kept her alive now, without the use of the soul stealers.
Inuyasha could not argue with that, and the jewel was untaintable inside Kagome.
"We aren't in a hurry anymore, remember Inuyasha, he's dead," As if Kagome needed to remind him.
"One dead, two to go if you ask me," Inuyasha said,
"Two?" Miroku asked looking at him confused,
"Yeah the wind bitch and my asswhole brother, actually make it three,"
"Who's the third person?" Sango asked,
"That mange wolf!"
Kagome sighed, "I'm going home," If she even could, they had not got that far. They thought the jewel would return her, well after making a wish that is. The truth was, Kagome wasn't sure there was a right wish. Any wish could be tainted. So long as it stayed in her and she protected it, it would stay pure. But it left an issue, one that Inuyasha's brother pointed out. She was a walking beacon.
"We will be lucky to make it to the well before nightfall!" Inuyasha huffed.
"Calm down, Inuyasha, relax," Kagome said as she packed her stuff up.
"I can't,"
"Why not?" She asked putting her backpack on "I think we earned that much,"
"How can you even say that?"
She rose an eyebrow, and Inuyasha sidestepped, "We just gonna ignore him?" Nevermind the fact that Inuyasha had been, in fact, ignoring him.
Sesshoamru was leaning against a tree.
"He did help us destroy Naraku Inuyasha," Miroku pointed out,
"Yeah for his own reasons,"
"We all had our reasons for wanting him dead," Sango pointed out, picking up her heavy weapon.
"Yeah, well, that still doesn't answer why he is following us!" He said louder as he turned to look at his brother.
"I do not trust you," Sesshoamru stated,
"No fucking kidding." Inuyasha said flat "Dont you think I know that by now, and that still isn't a reason,"
"Why must I explain," He stopped leaning against the tree "The Miko is a walking power surge, and I Sesshoamru do not trust you as-" He looked his brother up and down "Alpha to this pack to protect the jewel it was your foolishness that caused it to break in the first place,"
Inuyasha sputtered, "I didn't break the jewel!" He pointed to Kagome, "She did!"
"Sit,"
To the morning dirt, he went.
"Also, the wind witch is dead," Sesshomaru stated with no care.
Kagome got a shiver,
"I did not kill her," His golden eyes looked at Kagome as if he knew what she was thinking.
"I wanna belive that," She said,
"I do not care if you believe it, Miko,"
She did believe that.
Inuyasha jumped up, "Hello!"
"So, you were just with her when she died?" Kagome asked,
"Indeed,"
"Now that I think about it Kaugra did seem to pop up a lot when Sesshomaru was around," Miroku smile slyly,
Sango rolled her eyes,
"Killing him, killed her," Kagome said sadly,
"What the monk is insinuating is incorrect,"
"I dont wanna believe that," Miroku said, Sango slapped him in the back of the head.
"She is free," Sesshomaru offered,
"Can we go already!" Inuyasha barked.
"What can't wait to get rid of me!" Kagome yelled,
"I didnt say that!"
And the walking argument began. Sango followed after them but knew Kagome had Inuyasha.
"Hmm, I see the problem," Miroku stood next to Sesshomaru as if the demon wasn't deadly,
Sesshoamru graced him with a glance,
"Powerful, beautiful, Immune to time, one of a kind-
"Get to the point Monk,"
Joking aside "If Kagome cant get through the well more demons like that soul sucker are going to come after her,"
"Indeed,"
"You aren't going to try and kill her again, are you?" Miroku stepped away a bit,
"No,"
Sesshomaru began to walk away.
Miroku wanted to believe him, but if the demon Lord was offering to be her gaurd dog, he wasn't declaring it.
