Hello, this is my first story, I decided to make this one about spider man, he is a character favourite of mine who, let's face it, usually gets the short end of the stick a lot. This story will be strictly animated and slightly comics spiderman(no movie versions or characters).
This is a harem fic, but for now it'll be small-ish just so I can focus slightly on the plot more in the beginning, but there will be a lot of smut after at least the first two chapters. This fic will be part of a series involving spider-man and eventually having a massive harem. I mean massive. I still haven't decided on exactly how many there will be, but it will be big. There will also be hints of future harem members in later chapters in this saga. I will write up a harem list in the coming chapters.
This first saga will be mainly about teenage Peter Parker in Midtown High and dealing with his own personal villians as well as organized crime. There isn't really a specific version of spidey here, it's sort of a new universe with a little of spectacular, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spiderman ps4 and the 90s animated series ('cause let's face it they're all awesomely badass in their own way). That's about it for now, so let's just get to the first chapter.
Just a warning; This fic will also go into depth of this universe's criminal world at times, as well as have some intense crime elements.
After all, Spider-Man in New York can't exist without organized crime, because that is what he originally became Spider-Man for, to take care of the crime in the city.
As for the art style for the villains, they'll be similar the ones included in the spider man ps4 video game, though the first shocker suit will be the old style cartoon one.
Quick shout out to alla y'all trapped inside cuz of corona.
Heads up. Italics are Peter's thoughts.
Regular text is everything else.
Be sure to read and review.
Disclaimer, I don't own Spider-Man or marvel
My name is Peter Parker, and I am Spider-Man. I know that pretty much all of you know this by this point, but I'm reminding you anyway.
My story is a long and exciting one, and sometimes even a funny one. Well, at least to me. I'll leave your own opinions up to yourselves.
But where did it all start? When did my life go from amazing to borderline insane by 'normal' standards? I guess it was the day before my Junior year of high school, over five years ago. Let's get into it, shall we?
But before we do... for the miniscule percentage that doesn't know much about him, let's give you a brief history, though I should warn you that it's not entirely how you remember it. We like to do things a little more differently here at Heroverse studios, home of all your fan-fapping, I mean fanfiction needs.
He grew up in Queens his whole life, living with his parents Richard and Mary Parker when he was very young. He remembered their house being fairly big but not really extravagant or fancy, just warm and homey.
Now, he didn't remember when they actually met, but he's known Eddie Brock for as long as he can remember. Eddie lived just a few blocks away so he visited a lot. His parents and his parents were friends, but they met in the park by accident when he was three. Eddie was a little older, but they got along anyway. He was a naturally strong kid, too, and Peter was naturally pretty small and weak when he was little, so Eddie always acted like his big brother and protector, and made sure none of the bullies picked on him. They were great friends even when they were kids.
Then their worlds were rocked when his parents and the parents of his long-time friend passed away in a plane crash. He was four and Eddie was seven. They stayed friends but had to move to different neighbourhoods. Peter moved to Forest Hills to live with his Uncle Ben on his father's side of the family and Ben's wife May. They were a little older than his parents and didn't have any children, but they welcomed him into their home with open arms.
Eddie moved to Sunnyside to live with his Uncle Dylan. They got along and Dylan was a single, hardworking coffee shop owner, and while the man didn't have any kids himself, he'd always liked Eddie and treated him like a son. He was happy that Eddie had someone like that in his life.
Living further apart than before meant that they couldn't hang out as easily as before, but they both still made an effort to see each other and their guardians ended up agreeing to send them both to the same school, knowing that it be better if they weren't separated during this time. They went to the same school but with the three year grade difference they didn't have much to talk about school wise, though he did help Eddie more than a few times with his homework whenever it got a little too difficult. That was a secret that would remain between them.
It took some time to adjust to living with them, but eventually they all got comfortable and while they all knew that they could never really replace his parents, his aunt and uncle still treated him like he was their son.
One friend that he made from the neighborhood was actually the person that grew up to become his bully, but we'll get into that later. (No spoilers, sorry.) That friend, however, moved away three years later.
A little bit later, he entered first grade, where he met two more of his friends; Harry Osborn, the son of a wealthy scientist and business owner, and Gwen Stacy, the daughter of a famous police officer who they said was responsible for bringing down a big-time mob boss. She was also currently his best friend. They, along with Eddie, were his only friends in elementary school.
For his entire elementary school life, his experience was pretty ordinary. He went to school, did his homework, hung out with his friends and just living.
He honestly didn't remember that much about his parents, now. He only knew their faces from a few old pictures and that was the only real proof that he had that he looked like his dad, which he did.
Then, during the second semester of Freshman year, he went on a field trip to Dr. Connors' research laboratory at ESU with Gwen, Harry, and one other person that came into his life right before freshman uear started. Yeah, you know what's coming:
There was a big explosion and everybody died in a terrible accident! Is what I wish would happen to the main characters of School Days.
Anyway, he was bitten by a radioactive spider that the lab had genetically engineered to possess the traits of different species. It gave him super strength, agility, stamina, and a danger sense that allowed him to notice whenever danger was about to happen moments before it actually occurs. It was awesome.
It also gave him a massive libido, which for a single guy was problematic. Let's just say that he didn't subscribe to pornhub, but he definitely went window hopping a few times.
But all things had a negative side as well as a positive. He had super powers, but on the other hand it was tough learning to control his strength and not stick to anything.
A few days after he woke up with his powers, he overheard his aunt and uncle talking about Ben's current unemployment and how their finances weren't that great, so he decided to help in whatever way he could.
With his powers and his knowledge of sewing (thank you, Aunt May, you goddess housewife), he made himself a costume and decided to pursue a career in wrestling to help pay the bills. Naturally he never told his aunt or uncle, because it was illegal for a minor to be involved in wrestling.
He became a hit amongst the small-time wrestling world, earning a few hundred bucks per fight, and he usually fought about once a week. He gained quite a bit of popularity and became somewhat of a regular. He never signed a contract, though, because he didn't feel comfortable revealing his identity. In hindsight, that was probably a stupid decision, one that he'd come to regret.
He used the money to buy parts and build small devices that could store and release high- tensile strength artificial spider silk that he called web-fluid. He called them web shooters. After all, if he had the abilities of a spider, then why not go all out and make webs like one, too?
He started to practice a few hours a day using his powers. Climbing up a wall for the first time was probably the most fun. He practiced swinging on the webs, running on ceilings, jumping several feet onto walls and support beams. It was as much a fun experience as making the actual webbing itself.
He was having the time of his life. He had superpowers, he was making money, and was even growing some muscle. He was having the time of his life as a teenager.
Then, about a month later, he was brought in to fight a pro, with a guaranteed $2000 payout regardless of whether he won or not, but if he lasted at least three rounds then he'd get a permanent slot. He was so excited about it.
Though, there were consequences to his new lifestyle. Naturally, his new powers, job and hobby had caused his grades to suffer a little. He rarely needed to actually study for a test, but he started to lose focus and started making mistakes writing formulas that were easy for him to understand and it affected his marks. His Uncle Ben lectured him about his this, but with the stress of his new powers, telling him that "With great power comes great responsibility." ,but his job and keeping up with schoolwork, he lashed out at him and ran out to the fight.
You couldn't imagine his initial excitement over the fight when he'd shown up at the venue, but it was shadowed by the angst and forgot to hold back a little, and knocked him out in the first round. He couldn't believe the happiness he'd felt when he was like all of his problems just went away for a moment.
And then he remembered being disappointed as he'd been to be handed $300 and no contract at the end of it. Apparantly the agreement had only been valid as long as he'd actually lasted 3 rounds. That, and because he hadn't actually signed a contract, then his boss wasn't entitled to actually uphold his end of the deal. Naturally he was furious at being scammed and quit right there, storming out of the office. He was so angry that he didn't notice the suspicious person walking in as he left.
As he was walking out someone actually robbed the office and stole all the money from the night. His old manager came out and asked him to stop him. Peter, feeling petty, just let the thief pass. When the ringmaster asked why he didn't stop him, he just said that it wasn't his problem. He slipped on his street clothes in private and took off his mask, leaving his costume on underneath.
You couldn't imagine how much he'd come to regret that, because when he went outside, he found his Uncle Ben laying on the pavement, a bullet wound in his stomach. He'd been out looking for him after he'd stormed off like a child.
Soomething in him snapped seeing that. He went down into an alley and got back into his costume. He tracked down Uncle Ben's car and found the killer to an abandoned building. He cornered him and held him out of the window. You can imagine his shock when it was the theif he'd let go.
It had suddenly hit him that Uncle Ben dying...was his fault. If he'd stopped this guy, then Uncle Ben wouldn't have been shot. He debated dropping the guy and letting him fall, but he just chucked the guy out the window and webbed him up like a bungee jumper that lost momentum. He swung back home and consoled Aunt May.
After that he started to go around the city and stopping various crimes, such as robberies, assaults and even the odd run-in with the mob.
A few months after he started being a hero he saw an ad online for photos of Spider-Man, because he never stuck around a crime scene and tended to move like a madman. So, he decided to take swallow his pride and started an onlyfans.
Kidding, kidding. He was clothed in the pictures, most of the time. The Lizard left him a little skantily dressed after their last encounter. He started selling pictures of him in action to the daily bugle, once a local paper, now one of the biggest news agencies in the world and this ciy's biggest paper. All of it was run by,
Adolf Hitler...'s distant loudmouth cousin. It hasn't been confirmed but he'd had his suspicions.
The money from the Bugle was good, and he even got free publicity from it. Now if only Jameson could give him some of the good kind, then maybe there wouldn't be so many people constantly bashing him on social media everyday. He started sending photos through email almost every day and got paid pretty solid money
He got a lot of love, too though. There were a lot of people who came forward and thanked him in interviews and online, too. Hell, he saw kids dress up as him for halloween last year. It felt good to have fans.
The end of the year came soon after he started his new job and unfortunately, he and Eddie were only in high school together for one year before his friend graduated and started going to Empire State University, or ESU as People liked to call it. They still texted and called each other often, making sure to keep in touch. It was a mistake he'd made when he got his powers, he started shutting people out, worried that they might find out about his powers and be scared of him, even think he was a freak. He vowed to never shut anyone out again. The fear was still there, but it was much smaller now. He still didn't know how to tell anybody, but if the time came and they found out, he could only hope that they wouldn't hate him for being this way.
He'd worked on himself for a while and had become more confident and accepting of who and what he is now, so he can only hope that his friends will, too, if they ever found out, that is.
Part of his confidence (particularly with women) was mostly all thanks to her, but we'll get into that a little later.
Still, since that day he vowed to never let anyone lose their parents or loved ones if it can be avoided again. He swung through every neighborhood during his spare time to stop any ongoing crime in the streets that he could find. He hasn't and will never forget his promise.
Now, let's get into this crazy story that has absolutely no perverted elements at all. Yep, none at all.
Midtown, Manhattan:
It was early September, that year, that I remembered it happening. The moment when my life was forever changed even more.
It started off as a regular day, another day swinging around New York city, specificly Midtown Manhattan. That's where we find our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. 16 year old Peter Benjamin Parker, who is right now contemplating his life. He could feel the wind as he flew through the air currents created by the skyscrapers.
'I can't believe that i've been Spider-Man for nearly two years now. I mean, so much has changed for me since I got bit by a little radioactive spider at ESU labs and my life was changed for good.
'Right now I'm enrolled in Midtown Magnet High School, home to one of the best tech programs in the city. The place prided itself on having a little something for everybody, hence why even someone like Flash Thompson could accel there.'
So much has changed since that incident. I've gotten taller, for starters. My growth spurt finally hit last year and I'm currently sitting at 5'10", so I'm no longer "Puny Parker".
I haven't really bulked up or anything though, keeping a more lean body with muscles in the right places, though a bit more filled out than before thanks to natural development and constant web slinging. I'm no bodybuilder but I have 8 pack abs, so I can't complain.' As he's thinking this he performs a double front flip, simply showing off his moves and acrobatic ability. 'Unfortunately I still have to hide my physique under baggy clothes at school in order to maintain my secret identity, so Flash Thompson and his goon squad still call me that nickname, but it doesn't hurt nearly as much as it used to.'
Peter starts swinging down lower to get a better view of the street. 'I still work at the daily bugle for now to pay the bills and buy stuff for web fluid. it's not perfect and J. Jonah Jameson still busts my balls as Peter and Spider-Man, although he doesn't really respect me as either one, even after all of the good I've done for the city (not to mention his business) since I started, but I don't have many options at the moment, so I'll manage.
Hey and who knows, maybe I'll invent something that'll cure cancer one day and become richer than Tony Stark. But until then I'm stuck slingin' pictures to old pickle puss.
Where was I, oh yeah.
I still go out web slinging every day and time possible (besides the days I'd stayed in because of injuries from big battles against green goblin or another villain.) during the last 1 ½ years, just so what happened with Uncle Ben never happens to anyone else's family. I don't think I'll ever forgive myself for what happened 1 ½ years ago, but that won't stop me from being a hero, it just gives me more drive.' He thought. he swung past the Daily Bugle and had to stop himself from webbing the billboard his big grumpy face on it.
'I currently have seven supervillian archnemeses of my own; Shocker, Kraven, Mysterio, and Vulture. I know, their names make them sound like a cliche alternative rock band, but they feel very serious when they hit me. There's also Ox and Ricochet, Shocker's partners. They're not really as dangerous as Shocker is, but they're still pains in my ass at times.
The other one is my least favorite to think about. The green goblin, AKA...
He paused his thoughts as a new one occurred to him. "You know, I still don't know who the goblin is. I've gotta get on that."
Across town.. Oscorp tower:
Norman Osborn sneezed in his as he was reading the latest Oscorp stock reports.
"Sebastian, did you by any chance add nutmeg to my coffee again?"
"No sir, I didn't. Perhaps it's the changing season affecting your nasal passage."
Norman didn't want to tell the butler that ever since he'd taken the Goblin serum, he'd never even been affected by allergies or even gotten sick. "Yes, you could be right." The billionaire said evenly and went back to his report.
Back with Spider-Man...
He lands on a rooftop and crouches. 'I still hang out with my two best friends. One is Gwen Stacy, who i've known since second grade and is daughter of Police Captain George Stacy, who has sort of become my ally on the NYPD, helping me out from time to time and I him. He's one one the only people I know that I can trust as Spider-man.' He continued thinking.
Peter fired another web line at a high rise and continued swinging.
'My other friend is Mary-Jane Watson, or MJ as we like to call her. I've known MJ since she moved next door to me right before freshman year. I've always had quite a crush on Mary Jane. I mean who wouldn't? Red, luscious locks, white, soft skin, emerald green eyes, thin, toned figure, soft curves, long slender fingers, long full lips, not too full but large enough to catch your attention, and D cup breasts. I swear the first time I saw her I nearly passed out with a bloody nose. She. Is. perfect.
But I've never asked her out. Probably because she'd been dating my ex-best friend Harry Osborn for the past year or so, which ended about 2 months ago with him cheating on her and me finding out and telling her, which led to me comforting her and Gwen threatening to shoot Harry's balls off with her dad's gun, which surprised me 'cause Gwen's always been the shy type. This all led to a fallout between Harry and I. I'd gone over there and aked why he did it. He told me it was because she wouldn't put out. This led to a fight between Harry and I, making sure I held back to prevent myself from hurting him too badly. In the end, it was his father who'd broke it up. I walked out with a bruised heart, but Harry walked out with a black eye and some bruised ribs. His father, Norman, surprisingly still likes me. Hell, he even commended me for confronting Harry about it. The most surprising part was that Stormin' Norman shipped Harry off to some boarding school in England. We haven't spoken to or seen each other since.' His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a mugging below him.
Peter disarmed the robber and webbed him to a nearby wall and moved on, but not before returning the stolen purse to the very attractive blonde that he'd rescued it for. She'd given him a kiss on the cheek and an actual thank you for once before running away. This brought Peter's thoughts back to the ladies in his life as he swung back up and over the streets. As he swung away, the woman he saved watched him from the street.
"I'll see you later, Spider. Thanks for the save." Felicia said and she walked back in the direction of her place. Peter didn't recognize her and kept swinging while getting lost in his thoughts.
'I've tried to hang out with Gwen and MJ as much as I could this summer, but every time that I hung out with MJ she always seemed distant with me. At first I thought that it was because of Harry, but her mood still hasn't changed. Also, every time that I try and ask her about it, all she ever says is "I'm fine Peter, really.", and it's driving me crazy. She barely even called him 'tiger' anymore. And every time that I insist that she's not fine she just gives me this pleading look where she slightly pouts and I always drop the subject. It's incredibly annoying, especially with the crazy number of cold showers I've had to take after each time of being alone with her. That girl drives me nuts. I just hope that I can help get her back to the way she was before; brave, confident, and so damn sexy. Okay, THAT part hasn't changed, but you get the point.' He thought.
'Anyways, Gwen's been working at a research lab all summer out of town. We still FaceTime and text, but it's not the same. So, it's been a little lonely, but at least I've got Spider-Man, and hey, Shocker isn't gonna web himself up.' Peter finished his thoughts as he heard a familiar hrrrrnn noise close by and turns to the source. "Speak of the jersey devil."
As he finished that thought he spotted a man wearing a yellow, quilt-like outfit with shiny gauntlet-like objects on his wrists currently robbing a bank. 'Here we go again,' Spidey thought as he webbed his camera to the wall to get a good shot for the bugle and swung down.
"Time to go take out the trash.' Peter thoought as shocker's visor came into view.
"Hey Herman! What's it been, like three days? You'd think that you'd learn to take a vacation." He shouted. Just then Shocker looked up and saw Spider-Man in mid-air looking right at him.
"Awe, not you?!" Shocker yelled as he started firing his sonic blasts. "What's a guy gotta do to get some peace and quiet while he's workin'?"
Let's tell you a little backstory. This guy was Shocker, AKA Herman Shultz, AKA Mr. Banshee Beekeeper. He was a genius engineer who specialized in vibrations. Though, he came up in a poor family and couldn't afford a great university, so he couldn't get the education he wanted and quite frankly deserved. Despite that, he managed to get a full technical scholarship to a decent university and after a few years got a degree in engineering.
Though since no one would fund his research, he decided to pursue a career as a criminal using a vibro-shock suit he created that can not only absorb vibrations but also shoot high-pressure air blasts capable of bringing down buildings. Now if he could just get a good designer to add their opinion to his next suit then people might take him seriously.
Spider-Man dodged and webbed one of shocker's gauntlets. The sound villian used his suits vibration to dissolve the webbing and growled up at Spider-Man. "Work? How hard it it for you to rob a bank?" He jumped and dodged another blast. "I mean, you have the power to cause earthquakes by making a fist. Breaking into a vault kinda seems like childs play."
"If i wanted advice from a comedian in spandex, I'd call Eddie Murphy. So buzz off!" Shocker fired a blast at the wall-crawler who dodged and shot webs that were dissolved in midair by the sonic guantlets.
"What, you're not happy to see me? Maybe if I changed my name to Bee-man you'd like me a bit better!" Peter quipped as he swerved in midair and avoided the next blasts.
"Keep jokin' pal, it just makes me even more motivated to squash you!" Shocker threatened, still blasting.
"Keep dreamin', shocky. By the way, where's the rest of the crew? Supervillian book club today? Peter asked and changed directions in midair as he eyed a perfect spot for a takedown. 'Might as well get some info out of him while I'm at it.' Peter thought slyly and he fired a web at a nearby trash can and flung it at Shocker, who sent it right back to the web-head with a sonic blast. Spidey jumped on top of the can and fired two lines at the pavement, launching himself towards Shocker, slamming his feet into Shocker's chest amd back flipping off, sending the villain flying into the wall.
Spider-Man webbed Shocker to the wall. Herman used his guantlets to break free and blast the wall-crawler, who jumped and fired a web line to get away to a nearby wall.
"They're on vacation. Said they couldn't handle your silk stink any more." Shocker said offensively and stopped firing to wait for the hero to get close.
Spidey placed his hand to his chest in mock hurt. "That hurt shocky. You know, I think I might cry a little." 'Well, might as well wrap this up.' Spidey quipped then thought as he followed that up with webbing shocker's eyes before swiping his guantlets and launching at him with a round-a-bout kick around a light post. "Hey, when you're back in prison, be sure to look up parole, maybe then you'll understand the concept a little better." Spidey quipped and didn't give Herman a chance to give a retort because he was too busy webbing him up in a cocoon and attaching it to a street light.
Spider-Man then heard police sirens and knew it was time to go. The police weren't hunting him anymore, but unless Captain Stacy was with them, he usually just tried to stay out the way of them getting their collar. "See ya, Herman, I'll see ya next week!" Peter yelled as he left.
As Peter left the scene he grabbed his camera and his enhanced hearing could pick up the faintest sound of someone saying 'Damn bughead..'.
Chelsea: St. Peter's cathedral.
As the day went on Spider-Man stopped 3 muggings, 2 rapes, another bank robbery, courtesy of Ox and Ricochet. 'I got a couple bruises from that one' peter thought begrudgingly, and 2 convenience store robberies.
He'd also made a stop at the daily bugle to drop off some pictures for the morning edition. Sure, he had to listen to J. Jonah. Jameson ramble on about menaces and blood pressure or whatever, but at least Betty was there to talk to him and he was able to relieve some of her stress (not like that it's just that thing women do, where they talk to men, try it sometime, k?)
As the sun was setting over the city, Peter was now sitting by his favorite gargoyle Bruce as he took a look around. Almost every night after he'd first started being Spider-Man or even during a patrol, peter would come to this cathedral to think and talk about his problems and Bruce was always there to listen, not that he could respond or anything,it was just nice to have someone who wouldn't judge you. Peter currently had his mask half up, showing his face up to the nose, and tonight the sounds of multiple police cars could be heard heading out on the night shift. "Well Bruce, seems like it's time to head home wouldn't you agree, old pal, huh?" Peter said to the statue. Then he heard a ringing and quickly recognized it as his phone. After seeing the name I quickly answered it.
"Hi Aunt May, how are you?" Peter asked.
When his aunt had first asked where he kept going to on his patrols he'd told her that it was to take pictures of Spider-Man for the bugle. She still doesn't like it, but she allows him to go out nonetheless. But on the condition that he'd make sure to keep in contact with her while he was out. So, he agreed to talk to her at least once a day. She usually texted, but she decided to call him today apparently. Given where I lived and what he got involved in sometimes, he couldn't really blame her.
"I'm fine Peter. How was your day?" May asked, interested in knowing what her nephew had been up to.
"Pretty good. There was nothing really newsworthy today. Though I did get some pictures for Mr. Jameson, so there's that. Things are looking a little slow, but I'll stay out for a little longer just to see if Spider-Man comes out for a midnight swing and then come home." Peter said. His curfew was 10:00 p.m., so he wouldn't get in trouble for it.
"Okay Peter. Just make sure to pick up some milk and eggs before you come home, okay?" May asked.
"K, Aunt May, will do." Peter said, making a mental reminder.
"Thanks, Peter. Just don't be out too late. you have school tomorrow, remember?" Aunt May said.
"How could I forget? It's the start of junior year." Peter said incredulously.
"I'll bet that you're excited to see Gwen and Mary Jane again." May said, slyly on the last name.
Peter blushed. "Y-Yeah, it'll be nice to see Gwen again after these last months." Peter said.
"Oh, so you like her too?" May said teasingly, which caused him to blush harder if possible.
"What? No! I mean, yeah as a friend, but. Uh. " Peter stuttered. The truth is that he did find Gwen attractive. While she wasn't too much to look at a few years ago, she was still very pretty then, and has since matured into quite a woman. The last time that he saw her, she was beautiful.
That got Peter thinking. 'There must have been plenty of guys asking her out since last year, so why has she never had a boyfriend?'
Aunt May then giggled and it was then that Peter realized that he had gotten caught up in his thoughts and that she probably had a good idea of what he was thinking.
"It's alright Peter, I'm not going to judge you. They're both very lovely girls. Just try not to break either of their hearts, ok?" Aunt May said.
'What does she mean by that.' Peter wondered, but before he could think about it more, she decided to speak:
"Alright then Peter. I'll see you later alright. Be safe." Aunt May said.
"Will do Aunt May. See you soon." Peter responded respectfully.
"Bye Peter." May said before she hung up.
Once she hangs up Peter sighed and turned to Bruce. "Well, I better get going. Catch you later Bruce." Peter said.
He then pulled his mask down over his face and started swinging from the large skyscrapers for his usual nightly patrol.
Greenwich Village:
As Peter was swinging he couldn't help but think 'I wonder what she meant by that?'
As he was swinging through the streets he decided to take a short rest on a rooftop on east 4th street. He'd already been out for a couple hours and it was now 9:30.
Peter had been thinking about the implications behind the talk with Aunt May for a while now.
'Just what did she mean "either of their hearts" anyway? I mean, its not like I could ever date both of them, right?' Peter was so immersed in his thoughts, that he didn't notice the large African-American man walking up behind him.
"Who says you can't?" The man said in a deep baritone voice. This caused Peter to jump. What he saw when he turned around was an African-American man wearing a black mask with lenses for eyeholes only covering his eyes and about two inches of his forehead, as well as a black trench coat and black dress shoes. The man's hair was in dreads and was long and running down his back. His hair was mostly a dark tinted grey but if you looked hard enough you could see numerous black strands swimming within.
Peter could also sense the power coming off of this man in waves, but since his spider sense wasn't reacting, he relaxed a little.
"What the fuck!" Peter said surprised. Why wasn't his spider sense working?! This caused the man to hit Peter. "Ow, fuck." Peter exclaimed.
"Don't swear in front of me. Save the dirty talk for your women, would you?" The man said in as if he despised swearing, confusing Peter.
"Alright. Alright. I'll keep it PG." Peter said. Then he realized what the man had said.
"Wait, what women?" Peter asked. "Also who are you?" He was tempted to add a the he'll that question, but he wanted to be respectful. This man was definitely confusing Peter, and scaring him. 'Then again', Peter thought. 'It doesn't exactly take much to do so.'
'No, I'd imagine it wouldn't.' The man said telepathically.
Peter was astounded by that. 'This guy's reading my thoughts? Maybe he's some kind of mutant like on the news or something.' He thought.
"Okay, just who are you? And how come my spider sense doesn't work on you?" Peter asked now completely confused. 'Just who is this guy, and what does he want?' He thought as the other man just stood there, allowing him to finish his thoughts before saying:
"All of your questions will be answered in time, but for now, simply relax your mind." The man said as he placed his hand on Peter's shoulder.
Peter raised an eyebrow and said "Wait, what are you…?" and that thought was cut off by the strange man in a bandana mask placing his index finger on Peter's forehead, and then suddenly,
they were gone…
And a large glowing spider web was the last thing Peter had seen before blacking out.
Somewhere else unknown….
Peter was slowly coming too, although his head was slightly buzzing. He noticed that he was still wearing his suit, including his mask. 'At least he didn't sneak a peak.' Peter thought. He slowly stood up and noticed that the air smelled fresh and clean, not like the smog-filled city air that he was accustomed to breathing.
When he finally opened his eyes he was treated to the sight of the most beautiful forest he'd ever seen. He was surrounded by lush, green tropical trees with tall trunks and rugged and jagged looking bark. The trees had huge leaves that covered most of the forest in shade, with only a few rays of sunlight piercing through the thick canopy. There was unique vegetation that he'd never seen before growing on thick bushes and in the trees nearly everywhere he looked.
He also noticed that he was feeling a bit more energized and stronger than he was before.
'Strange.' the wall-crawling hero thought as he fired a web. His eyes widened as it was glowing like an aurora. 'Even stranger."
He walked over to one of the trees and reached his hand out to touch it. Peter noticed that it's texture was actually quite smooth, though it did have an earthy and warm feel to it.
'There's plant life here that I've never even seen before. This is all unbelievable.' Peter thought.
"I suppose it does seem that way." A voice said and Peter jumped and screamed a little girly before turning around and seeing a man walking towards him. His mask was different, but Peter immediately recognized him as the one he met on the roof top, only now he seemed different.
The man was now wearing a gold yellow yellow bandana mask with lenses similar to his, but made of a more ancient looking material.
The man was now also shirtless, standing at about 6'4 only wearing jade green pants supported by a gold yellow belt and gold yellow bands wrapped from his wrists down to his elbows. He appeared to be in great shape, but what really shocked Peter was the giant black spider tattoo going all over and over his entire torso.
"That is, it should be to anyone who can't fathom what this place is." The other man finished his thought.
Peter just stared blankly at him for a moment.
"It's okay, you can take your mask off, Peter Parker. Relax your mind, I didn't even need to look underneath your mask. Besides, your secrets safe with me." The man said, lightly chuckling over Peter's shocked look.
Peter cautiously took off his mask. He looked for any hint of surprise on the other man's face. Luckily, there was none, and this guy didn't seem to want him hurt, so he should be okay, hopefully.
"Who or what exactly are you, man? What is this place?" Peter asked. He was genuinely confused right now. It didn't help that his spider sense was doing anything to help him right now, either.
"Don't worry, your 'spider-sense' as you like to call your ability is still very much working. It's just working at a much different capacity now." The man said cryptically. Peter just looked at him weirdly.
'I mean, seriously! Is he always like this?' Peter thought.
"Yes, I am." The other man simply replied. 'Oh right, he can read my thoughts.' Peter thought.
The other man just smirked and nodded.
"Telepathy?" Was all Peter asked in response. The other man just nodded.
Peter sighed. At least he was getting somewhere here.
"So, let's go for a big one then. What am I doing here?" Peter asked. Despite the fact that this place was beautiful, he wasn't entirely sure as to why the other man had brought him here. Heck, Peter didn't even know his name.
"No swearing this time. I'm impressed." The large man said.
"I just learn from my mistakes. That's all." Peter answered humbly.
It was true, 'cause not learning from his mistakes back when he first started had caused him a lot of pain in the form of Green Goblin when he first threw down with him. He'd just managed to get out of that fight with his life.
The only reason that he'd won was because ol' gobbie had been uncoordinated back then and he'd been able to outmaneuver the masked monster while using a little misdirection to trip him up.
That was also the first time that Spider-Man had needed help from the police. Since then, he's had a relatively good relationship with the NYPD, both following an unwritten rule; The cops take the streets for petty crime, and Spider-Man takes the rooftops.
The other man simply nodded understandingly.
"To answer your first question from before, the truth is that I've been known by many names and been called many things during the span of my existence. But, you any call me, Anansi. The God of spiders." The man said. That was definitely a shock to Peter's system.
"Anansi, god of spiders? Do spiders even have a god? I mean, why? how? When?" Peter said, and started rambling but was stopped when the man now dubbed 'Anansi' simply raised a hand.
"Now just settle down. I promise that if and when you follow me, all of your questions will be answered." Anansi said as he started to trek into the jungle.
"And back to completely cryptic." Peter deadpanned but then started following the 'spider god' down the jungle path.
'Well, if Miguel and Tulio could do it.' Peter thought as he too began his his hike through the jungle.
They had been walking through the jungle pathway for a few minutes now.
Peter managed to recognize some of the trees and plants as extinct species that he'd studied in agricultural studies last year at school, and he'd mostly been bored by it, but he paid attention to get the grade and maybe learn a few things about agriculture that he could use to his advantage as Spider-Man.
'Who knew that section of science would actually help me here of all places.' Peter thought to himself.
Peter looked to the man he was currently following and briefly wondered If he had been reading his thoughts right then, he didn't acknowledge it.
They kept walking for a few more minutes before Peter started to lose it. He was about to lay into the so called "God of Spiders" for kidnapping him and stringing him along, but his shouts quickly died in his throat when he finally heard Anansi speak.
"If you have a question for me, simply ask, young spider, and I shall reply." Anansi said calmly. Peter was shocked by that statement and simply decided to ask the most obvious question that came to his mind.
"Who are you?" Peter asked again.
"I am Anansi, the god of spiders." The larger man replied simply without even looking at him and yet somehow also seemed mysteriously and all-knowing.
Peter still couldn't see him, but he could almost clearly see the small smirk on the man's face.
The teenage pornstar... (Wait, that's not right. Wrong website). The young hero followed . "I know your name, but just what are you? I've never met anyone like you before in my life., and I'd remember that " Peter said.
This time, Anansi did turn his head slightly to face him. Peter could now see his lens-covered left eye as they walked.
"If we're to talk then perhaps I should show you the true path."
As he spoke the beautiful forest around them began to change and become a scene similar to deep space, the only difference being the black space being a shining light purple colour with only some black colour visable through it. There were also red and blue veins of glowing energy flowing down the path. Peter could see a white light at the end of the tunnel (not that kind).
"You didn't give me any hallucinogens back there, did you?" Peter asked. The god looked back at him somewhat sheepishly.
"No, but I'll admit to using a little telepathy to calm you back in the city, and also about five minutes ago, but on with the story." Peter was about to retort when Anansi started his tale.
"I am the first hero of the spider and guardian of the web of life. I protect the balance of the universe by maintaining the web as well as the natural order of life in the universe." Anansi said. Peter watched as the space around the walls swirled around and shifted into visions of a younger looking Anansi, from climbing walls to lifting boulders, as well as digging large trenches to divert lava flow. He could only stand there with his mouth hung open in complete shock.
"What's the web of life? Peter asked. He wanted to say more but his mouth wouldn't allow it.
"You'll find out soon." Anansi said cryptically. Did someone say foreshadowing?!
When Peter didn't respond again, Anansi continued.
"I watch over the earth and help out whenever necessary. You see, like you Peter, I too was a great hero in my time, and was worshipped like a god. I was chosen by the web to protect the world. I stopped natural disasters, put out fires and killed monsters that would make your mind shatter with disbelief." Anansi said. Peter noticed that the images faded back into the purple coloured space after he finished.
Peter shouldn't have been surprised, the man was a god after all.
"Well you've never faced anyone named the Green Goblin before, either." Peter quipped. He couldn't help it, he joked when he was nervous.
Anansi merely chuckled. "No, I suppose not. Anyway, as you can guess as a fellow hero that there was a lot of saving involved. And the women in particular were very thankful towards me."
Peter blushed at that particular comment but didn't interrupt. "And no, I didn't turn them away. I tried in some cases, but then again the fact that the magic of the web also dramatically increases the spider's libidos probably didn't help my self restraint. This led to me taking many mates during my time of living. A harem, as some people would call it in your world." The god continued.
The space then shifted into scenes where Anansi was in bed with beautiful women, (thankfully covered) before shifting to Anansi living in a large castle with multiple women either cuddled next to him or kissing him.
Peter then spoke up. "Is that why you said women to me when we first met?" Peter asked. He decided to speak as little as possible to allow the god to speak as much as possible.
Anansi nodded. "Yes. It is. You see young spider, it is very common and sometimes necessary for us spiders to be take multiple mates, due to our large libido. Its simply in our nature, that is, to secure strong mates for both pleasure and offspring. I can even make my seed infertile. Also, one of the reasons that I was able to attract so many women at once in the first place was because of one thing; pheromones. that and natural talent. The sticky fingers do have their other uses." The god said confusing Peter.
After that the images began to fade into the purple coloured space.
"Pheromones? What pheromones? I don't have any pheromones, do I? And how did you 'control' which times women got pregnant?" Peter asked as he attempted to think back to his early days of developing his powers and if any memory of pheromones sprang to life. He also blushed while thinking of what other uses having sticky hands could be good for.
Anansi merely stood there and chuckled lightly and smirked at his obvious inner turmoil before responding to his question.
"No, Peter. Relax. You don't have pheromones. At least not yet. You see, i was an adult when the web gave me my powers, so I had access to the all of the more..mature abilities given to me. And to answer your other question all a spider would have to do think and concentrate on your seed being non-fertile and it shall happen."
"You've got to be kidding me? Youre telling me that i can make my 'webbing' so that women can't get pregnant from it?!" Peter yelled, putting quotations around the word webbing.
"Yes, But tell me; you acquired your powers when you were 14, correct?" Peter nodded in response, still flabbergasted over learning the complex reality of what he really was.
"And you believe that since I'm not an adult yet, I'm not producing pheromones yet." The scientist in Peter replied. Anansi nodded somewhat curtly before responding to his question.
"Yes. You see all spiders chosen by the web are given the ability to secrete pheromones. It becomes part of your biochemistry, though it might just be because of how you first obtained your abilities." Anansi stated factually.
Peter was confused again. Did Anansi mean the spider bite. And if so, what about It?
"What? You mean the spider bite? What does that have to do with it?" Peter asked.
He had actually never considered the fact that the spider had played any sort of unique role in his transformation other than the obvious. Mainly because he hadn't needed to. His mind started quickly again but before he could come to a conclusion Anansi began to speak again.
"Well, young spider, it's quite simple. You see, I've watched you from the moment that spider landed on your hand and I believe that the spider actually accelerated the effects of your transition into your adult state. Instead of just magic like I received that added to my own natural strength, your abilities are part of your DNA, making you not entirely human. It would explain how your body developed like it did in such a short amount of time." The god said. As he said this Peter couldn't help but compare the god to Dr. Connors in that moment.
Peter nodded. "I suppose that is a possibility. The spiders were subjected to DNA modification in order to create a new species of 'super spiders' as they called them. That could've affected how my transformation into Spider-man was moved up a few years." Peter said somewhat jokingly at the end, earning a smile and a short, genuine laugh from Anansi.
"Well said Young Parker, I can imagine what had something to do with it. Say, would you mind telling me a story from your time?" Anansi asked curiously as he kept walking. Peter could see that they were beginning to reach the end of the tunnel.
"Well, about 4 months ago I had a little fight in the streets with a villain named Kraven the Hunter, a world class game hunter I've had run-ins with in the past. Though this time around he used some kind of experimental gene altering serum that temporarily made him a real beast. He was a monster too."
"Hmm, I must've missed that fight. Please, continue." Anansi commented, not catching the joke.
"Kraven didn't even bother to try and track me down, he just started trashing downtown and calling me out on live tv. So I did what any spider would, I swung straight into danger. Kraven may have been stronger than me because of the serum, and he nearly killed me." Anansi's eyes widened slightly at that fact. Peter didn't notice that and continued. "I was able to finally beat him by outsmarting him, by having the one thing that he didn't." He said, experiencing a fresh feeling of happiness at being alive.
"Which was?" Anansi asked him, genuinely looking like a curious child at the moment despite his godlike status. Peter reminded himself that he probably hadn't really experienced the world in a long time.
"Backup." Peter answered. And after looking towards Anansi's confused face he continued: "I had the NYPD surround him while I distracted him. I wore him down and they shot him full of horse tranquilizer. With his attention focused solely on killing me, he neglected to watch out for any outside party. The transformation wore off a few hours later. I still don't know where he got the serum from or who gave it to him, but at least I'm alive and can find out." He said, finishing the story.
Anansi was impressed by the resourcefulness and tact Peter had displayed against his adversary, it meant that the young spider had already learned the lesson of how to look past ones large pride in order to accept help. It had taken Anansi several years to learn that one, and Peter was still young, making the feat only more impressive.
This bit of knowledge only gave the old god hope for this generation of spiders. If young Peter was among them, then he had no doubts that the future would be bright.
If the boy agreed, that is.
"Interesting. I think that's enough." Anansi said and snapped his fingers. Just then an opening appeared in front of them. "Come on, we'll talk more inside."
"How did you-?"
"Oh, this?" The god asked as if it were nothing impressive. "I could've made the door appear at any time. I just thought that the walk would help enlighten us both a little." He said a little sneakily. "Now, where were we?"
"The spiders were all killed after their venom was extracted and I kicked Kraven's butt." Peter said, summerizing the whole point of his story.
"Oh, that's too bad. Oh well, I suppose that only time will tell how your body will change over time. Who knows? Maybe that spider will leave you with a few more 'gifts' other than the pheromones, and don't worry. At the rate that your body is developing, your body should start producing pheromones soon." Anansi said as he stepped in front of the white light. Peter then got an idea.
"Hey, you wouldn't happen to know why I have my spider sense in the first place, would you?" Peter asked suspiciously. Anansi shrugged and waved his hand, gesturing for the boy to drop the matter. He then turned to the young man and smiled.
"Follow me through here, young spider, and you'll learn why you are who you are." The god said cryptically once again before disappearing into the light.
Peter sighed. He was really getting tired of all the doorways. 'Here we go again' he thought as he walked through the light.
What he did not expect was something so breathtaking. The entire area on the other side seemed to resemble an ancient Greek temple of sorts. It had large columns all over for support and for effect. The whole room had high ceilings with the roof solid stone but the same colour as the space outside. He could see an opening leading to a large hallway located in the back, but what had really captured his eye was the large web near the back of the room. The web itself was composed of several luminescent lines of webbing in hexagonal shapes all fitting together like a complex puzzle. It stretched from the ceiling to the floor and stood in between two large columns that acted like posts for a gate.
It seemed to be the center of the entire room, but what surprised Peter was all of the different sets of what seemed like videos seen being played on each if the hexagons on the the web.
"Beautiful, isnt It?" Anansi said. Peter looked to the hallway on the other side of the web to see Anansi walking out of the corridor, now wearing a tight, old style white cotton shirt over his well-muscled torso, giving him a more civilized look. The old god began walking slowly over to Peter, his eyes never leaving the web.
Peter nodded, clearly impressed. "Yeah, very."
"The web is the center of the multiverse. Every reality, past, present amd future. It contains the power and knowledge of every spider who ever lived and ever will live. On your earth or any other." Anansi explained as he walked around the web to Peter's side and stopped.
As Anansi spoke, Peter had unknowingly started to walk towards the web as well. As he got closer, he could start to see the images more clearly. He could see various spider-heroes, like him, though with some key differences.
In one frame Peter saw a blue suited Spiderman with red lines around his mask and body outlining his eyes and running over his shoulders and chest, which was sporting a skull instead of a spider. Sharp red spikes extended from the back of his elbows, giving him a dangerous look. (Spider-Man 2099 for those who don't know the character) He appeared to be swinging down from a vey high building to hit an advanced looking robot, splitting it in two before exploding. The suit sort of gave him a Spider-Man meets Spawn and Nightwing look, and it worked for him. He definitely looked intimidating.
In another Peter could see what looked to be a medieval version of himself wearing a copper coloured suit of armour version of his suit. With large gauntlets sitting on his wrists, and presumably black ink painted over the suit to give it the signature spider insignia. (Look up Spider Knight from ultimate spider man). Peter watched as a sword sprang out from the knight's right gauntlet before being used to cut down some kind of small robotic looking kraken before the knight let out a brown coloured web and swung off.
Peter looked toward a third frame and saw that this one was actually wearing the same suit as him. The only difference being, that it was a pig! And not a pig like being fat pig, but an actual 2 foot tall, large snout and all, pig! (Look up spider ham) Furthermore, the pig was set the moment fighting against an animal house version of the enforcers (just picture them as ricochet as a grasshopper, ox as, well an ox and shocker as an alligator. I just think that they fit, I mean they made Thor a frog in the show, don't judge me) .
Anansi then turned to him. "You have senses that I don't. You call it 'spider sense', correct? Anansi asked.
Peter nodded his head and looked back at him. "Yeah? Why? Does it have something to do with the web? Peter asked. Anansi's eyes and his mouth curled upwards into a proud smirk and Peter knew that he'd just nailed the perp to the wall.
Anansi took in a deep breath. "Actually, no." The god said in a childlike manner. Peter groaned in frustration and Anansi chuckled. " Peter, you see, your spider sense allows you to detect danger because it's just simply part of your biology like you'd already guessed. As for the web," Anansi gestured to the giant web next to them. "It has nothing to do with your physical anatomy. It had already bestowed its powers upon you, because it saw you as worthy, despite your early decisions." Peter instantly thought back to his days in wrestling and his Uncle Ben. He still carried deep regrets about those days, but knew that without them he wouldn't have become the hero he was now. "The instant physical change, now that was the web's doing."
"So, can the web only grant it's powers to one person per reality? Or Is it just ones that the web chooses?" Peter asked.
The god shrugged. "Both essentially. Only one spider is usually needed in one reality. And even if the web chooses more than one champion per reality, there have been those that were granted powers simply to provide a more suitable mate in some cases."
This got Peter interested. "Was there one for me, by any chance?
Anansi just smirked. "Oh, you'll see." The god said.
Peter just rolled his eyes and looked at him questioningly.
"Moving on, how does this all fit into me coming here? I can't imagine that you take every spider here to your private sanctuary?" Peter asked half dryly, half matter-of-factly.
Anansi only chuckled slightly. "No, Peter, you're right. I haven't had a new spider up here in years." The god lightly joked, but Peter could tell that something was now weighing heavily on the god's mind. "You're here for me to teach you."
"To teach me? What would you teach me about?" Peter asked him, confused as to what exactly he was doing there in the first place.
'I'm going to teach you about yourself. Pay attention.' This time Peter could hear a full sentance inside his head.
"Ok, how do you keep doing that?"
"Because I'm telepathic, that's my special power that the web gave to me. I also found that we spiders are able to absorb chaos energy as well as tantric energy; the energy produced during sex. You should be able to absorb both as well. It's how we spiders increase our strength and even gain new abilities." Anansi said.
Peter decided to make a note of the whole energy absorption topic and store it away in memory for later. "That still doesn't explain why you dragged me out of Manhattan." He said, still waiting for an explanation.
Anansi simply looked at him with a slightly tired expression. "It is because you, Peter Parker, have been chosen to become a champion of the web."
"Champion of the web? That's a new title. I've already got wall-crawler, web-slinger, Spider-Menace, you've got the picture."
Anansi chuckled, liking the boy more and more. "Being a champion is no mere title, nor is it mandatory."
"I didn't expect it to be." Peter said simply. That raised the god's curiosity.
"And if it was?" Anansi asked theoretically.
"Then I would do everything in my power to thrash you." Peter said without hesitation. Anansi actually seemed pleased with that answer, making the teen let out an internal groan. He looked upon the god with the sternest look his tired body could muster. "So, why am I really here? And no indirect answers this time."
"I'm asking you to become a guardian of the web of life." Anansi answered immediately with clarity this time.
Peter blinked in disbelief at the quick answer. "Say again? I must've had some web fluid in my ears." He said, sticking his pinky in his ear for emphasis.
"It's no joke, young spider. I brought you here to become a protector of the source of our power." Anansi said, looking back at the web. Peter's gaze followed his and the web glowed. Peter could feel the numerous souls of spider heroes connected to the web.
"So, you brought me here just for a job offer?" Peter asked tiredly and the god nodded. Peter sighed. He was tired from the battle with Shocker earlier as well as the patrol. There was also another concern. "If I say yes. Will I need to stay here?"
Anansi shook his head. "No, you'll stay in your home universe, which I'm sure you won't object to. I'll return you once you're ready." The hero looked confused at that.
"But what about the web? How am I supposed to protect it alone and away from," Peter looked around and only saw marble walls and columns. "Whatever this place is." He gulped. Anansi chuckled lightly.
"I will summon you back if your services are needed. Other than that you're free to live your life in your city however you wish." Anansi said uncaringly.
"So, I take it that you can't fight for the web yourself, then?" Peter deduced as he stared at the god blankly.
"What gave me away?" Anansi said in a caught tone, surprised that he'd figured it out so quick.
"The fact that a literal god and legendary hero is asking someone for help defending his own home, it wasn't that hard." Peter clarified. The god sighed in response.
"Yes, its true. While I can venture outside the confines of this realm, I cannot remain outside of it or even defend it's threads myself. It's both my honor and my curse." Anansi looked ashamed of himself for a second there before he composed himself and shook it off. "I have no choice but to rely on other heroes to assist me."
The word heroes stirred something in the wall-crawler's mind. "You've recruited others, haven't you?" Peter deduced and Anansi simply smiled, not directly answering the question.
Peter got the feeling that he wouldn't get anything else out of Anansi during this meeting, which posed the question as to how they'd get into contact with each other again.
Anansi chose then to speak.
"Don't worry, I'll only speak to you if it is absolutely necessary. I have no intention of uprooting your life, Mr. Parker." Anansi said. Peter looked relieved at that. Anansi however, wasn't finished. "So, do you accept?"
Peter thought it over. Not finding any real reason to say no, he sighed. "I accept, but only because you showed me a world full of farm animals." Peter joked weakly.
"Good, now that being said, I will be watching you, the same as all the other spiders, but don't worry, I won't be watching you all the time. I'm nowhere near that perverted. A man is entitled to his privacy, after all. I'll just enough to keep track of your progress with your powers and only intervene if absolutely necessary. I'll also make sure to stay out of your thoughts as well." Peter just sighed at that and lowered his head.
"Fine, I guess I'll have to take your word for it." Peter sighed and rubbed the back of his neck in a tired manner.
"Excellent. I'm glad to have your support. Now I can send you back." Anansi said happily.
'This has been one strange day. And I still need to buy milk and eggs.' He thought. That still left a question, though.
"Why did you tell me about my powers and your history if all you wanted was to ask for my loyalty?" The younger hero asked curiously.
"So you wouldn't be unprepared and do something stupid once you grow into them." Anansi said harshly. Peter sighed and turned his head away.
"Oh, and what you said before?" Anansi said. Peter whipped his head up so fast it nearly gave him whiplash. "Who said that you'll be doing this alone?" Anansi said smirking at him.
"What do you….?" Peter began to ask but before he could Anansi simply waved his hand and Peter was gone.
Anansi simply smiled and said to himself "And he's supposed to be the smart one. Humph. I suppose he'll learn over time."
Greenwich Village:
Peter found himself supposedly back in New York. A quick look-around confirmed that it was the same rooftop. He reached up and felt that his mask was back on and looked around. From here he could see the sign for east fourth street. He used his enhanced hearing and could hear the sirens of a police cars on patrol. He could also hear the faintest sound of a woman screaming at her husband.
"Yup, I'm back in Manhattan alright. Besides, only one place smells like smog and chili dogs, you know, besides the school cafeteria." Peter said and let out a shudder.
Peter took out his phone and put in his password 'JJJ 666' and looked at the time. to his surprise it said 9:30 p.m., and the date was the same.
"Well, that's pretty convenient." Peter joked dryly. He knew that Anansi must have used to webs power to manipulate time for him.
Peter sighed. Just thinking about his encounter with the 'God of Spiders' was giving him a headache. It had only lasted about an hour or so, he figured, (He didnt really keep track.) but the sheer amount of knowledge learned was invaluable nonetheless.
He learned that his powers actually came from magic and that he was connected to arguably the most powerful source of energy in the multiverse.
Which begged the question: what exactly is the threat that Anansi had told him about. I mean, hello, the man's a god.
"But maybe this is just out of his hands." Peter said under his breath.
His thoughts were interrupted, however, by his phone vibrating in his hand. He looked and saw that he had a text from aunt may. He read it:
'Going to sleep. Don't forget eggs and milk. See u soon.'
"Oh, right." Peter said. He'd completely forgotten about that. "I'll have to swing by the store later and pick it up." Peter said to himself.
He also saw that he had a text from Gwen and MJ. He read MJs first.
' Ey Tiger, I'll meet u at school in the a.m. . My aunts droppin' me in. Just snapped u my schedule. B sure to meet at our spot k? c u 2morro.
Peter responded ' k, meet u dere. C ya MJ.
He then read Gwen's text.
'Hey, Pete. Just got back 2night and wus hoping 2 see you, but Aunt May said you were out looking for Spider-Man again. I'll c u soon, Gwen.
Peter smiled and replied 'glad ur back. Can't wait to see u 2moro. Say hi 2 ur dad 4 me.'
With that Peter put his phone in his pocket and let out a web line and swung off into the night.
Forest Hills, Queens:
It was around 10:45 by the time that Peter had gotten home. Normally he'd be out a lot later but he had school tomorrow and he didn't want to fall asleep in class on the first day… again. So he'd just decided to do one last sweep of the city before heading home. He stopped two more muggers and another rapist before calling it a night.
He'd also stopped briefly at the convenience store to pick up some eggs and milk at a corner store, stopping a robbery in progress in said store while he was at it.
Peter used the front door this time around and silently put the eggs and milk in the fridge before heading upstairs. He'd already eaten before he left, but his incredibly fast metabolism required him to ingest a lot more calories than he used to. It was one of the big reasons why he worked for Jameson. The least he could do with his big mouth was use it to feed him, right? Peter laughed silently at the picture in his head of a little bird Jameson flying into a billboard screen.
He took a brief piss in the bathroom and brushed his teeth, then walked to his room.
Once inside Peter opened his Snapchat and saw a new snap from MJ and two from Gwen.
Peter opened the first and it was a picture of Gwen in a pair of glasses with her hair up in her ponytail, holding a copy of Moby dick. He snapped her back a picture of his new textbook for the semester and opened the other one and saw that it was Gwen's class schedule.
He opened the one from MJ and it was just her class schedule.
He snapped his class schedule to both girls, plugged in his phone and crawled into bed.
'What a day.' Peter thought as his head hit the pillow. He only hoped that tomorrow would turn out to be relatively calm and simple.
Ya know, a normal person day?!
But most likely something was going to ruin it like every other school day.
Let's just say Peter didn't even know how wrong he really was.
First chapter done, so far so good. Whoo, that was a long one.
A collar is an arrest in police terms for anyone who was wondering and didn't Google it.
