I feel myself getting engulfed by darkness that completely blocks out all of the outside world. I see what appears to be an endless emptiness. Suddenly in front of me appears a massive purple eye, in the distance countless others start sparkling into view like stars in the night sky.

"Leave" thousands of voices thundered out at once.

Before I could even speak the world was filled with a purple glow overwhelming me and making me pass out.

Upon devouring the human the black horde started making its way back into the depths of the wilderness they came from. Slowly a purple light appeared in the middle of the ocean of black. It's intensity grew more and more each second. All the grimm around froze and turned to look at it, sensing the emotions seeping out from the light's source. Soon a geyser of pure, unbridled rage and bloodthirst flew out.

A scream rang out through the forest. The purple light turned to mist and gathered in one spot. The mist started swirling into a humanoid form it's limbs snapping into place. The purple hue disappeared, skin and clothing taking its place. John Smith was back and furious.

Pov restored woosh

For some reason those beasts seem frozen and are all staring directly at me. Well their mistake. I launch myself at the nearest grimm, which seems to be a young beowolf. I instinctively try to melt it with acid but that doesn't seem to work for some reason. Instead I decide to go with a simple decapitation via arm blade. The attack hits and the head slides off showing a clean cut beneath. The grimms corpse turns into dust that floats over to me, making me physically stronger. Something I didn't initially notice because I was too busy with my rage induced slaughter. I started rapidly dashing from grimm to grimm, culling the weak, killing them either with a well placed hack or jab with my spider legs.

After killing what felt like twenty-ish beowolfs I noticed different grimm types in the horde, standard ursa and boarbatusks, some grimm that I don't even recognise but that doesn't really change much does it? They will all die at some point during this battle. The first enemy that manages to dodge one of my attacks is an ursa minor, well to bad. Jeff's legs took care of him immediately after, well he got half a second more of life. My slaughter speed's up as I start to use more and more of my weapons, I begin to resemble a hurricane or a blender that raveges more and more grimm. Even without my acid jets the appendages and blades are more than enough. The first bit of actual resistance I encounter is a group of humanoid grimm with an exposed rib cage and deer antlers.

I try to kill one of them the standard way, attacking it with my blade and appendages at once, but when I hit my target it dissolves into mist. "Fucking illusions? Really?! Fine I'll just have to find the real ones by killing them all then!" I say filled with frustration as I start increasing my pace of attacks and the amount of spider legs on my back. As I continued killing more and more of those illusions I felt a sharp pain in my side. I looked down to see one of the fuckers stabbed me with his hand. "You bitch." I grab and crush the stick-like arm of the grimm. This time it didn't turn to mist. I bring it closer and turn it into swiss cheese with my spider legs.

"Jesus Christ that fucker was annoying! Boys, are any of you up for a dance?" I yell out spreading my arms open and spinning slowly waiting for an attack. There seems to be a few responses to my taunts, mostly a few ursa preparing to jump me. Reading my stance and spider leg's I stand and wait for their attack. They all jump at a similar time, the first one gets sliced in half by my blade, the rest well…. hang from my appendages like Christmas decorations.

Before I can throw the corpses off they turn to the same dust, all other grimm did. As I started looking around to choose my next target I noticed a dust cloud rushing towards me through the sea of grimm flinging some that were unfortunate enough to be in its way into the air. When it gets closer I get to see some of its features. The creature resembles a bulkier beowolf, but only uses its hind legs for movement, it's about the size of a small house. It's mask extended into giant antlers, to ease its charge it utilizes one of its arms, that seems to be bigger than the other one, as a battering ram.

The grimms charge changes into a leap, the creature now soaring through the air. It smashes the ground with its tree trunk like arms as it lands making the ground shake.
ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAR
The creature lets out a bone chilling roar turning its gaze to meet mine. "You want to be next that badly huh, come get me then." I taunted which made the monster start charging at me. I dodge to the side and attempt to stab it with my spider legs, the attempt resulted in barely any damage. I need to somehow make up for the size difference otherwise any damage I can do without getting torn apart isn't enough. As soon as I thought about increasing in size I started growing bigger and bigger, in the end matching the horned grimms height. Well that should certainly help.

"Try again big boy!" I call out to the grimm that's basically eye level with me now. It charges at me again this time with its arms raised to its face. I try to stop the charge by grabbing its arm, which drags me a few feet back leaving trails in the dirt carved by my feet scooting back. I pull open its arms and ready my appendages only for it to headbutt me using its antlers.

"Feisty fucker!" I shout while I let my spider legs rip it to shred's. Its body changes into dust, when it reaches me I grow even more. I bend over and place my hands on the ground and move back. One leg is in front of the other bent at a 90 degree angle, the other is behind it completely straight. Then I push myself off the ground and start sprinting right into the grimm.

I stomped on grimm after grimm growing bigger and bigger after each kill. When I reached the height of a tall hill I noticed a black oily liquid appear, absorbing all grimm and rapidly moving towards something? I trace its path and try to see its destination. I notice a grimm standing there, it seems to be an Ursa Major? A pretty well armored one at that. It's that FUCKER ISN'T?

"No, no no I get to kill the fucker you hear me I!" I started rushing over towards it seeing the black waves swallow the bear too but it didn't melt like the others. It started gaining mass and increasing its size.

By the time I reached the grimm it rivaled me in size. Its massive form was covered in even more armor than before. I stopped inspecting its body and met its gaze only to see the familiar, smug and challenging fucking grin. That sight sparked something in me, a primal rage as I threw a punch right at its face. It returned the favour and did the same. Then we just kept fucking going punch after punch getting smaller and smaller as chunks of each of us were torn off. I started using my appendages and blades, while it started using its claws and sometimes chomping off the appendages.

"THAT'S ALL YOU GOT?!" I yell at the bear while still keeping up my barrage of attacks. "AFTER ALL THAT?" I shout, speeding up my assault. More and more chunks are flung off each of us making us both smaller and smaller. As we reach our original sizes the fucker kicks me square in the chest which results in me flying back.

As I start getting up I notice the bear is laughing at me, it stretches it's arm toward me. Then it fucking guestured an invitation to attack at me. The fucker is asking me to come at him? All-fucking-righty then. I rush at it in a full sprint before it has a chance to react, I chop the taunting arm off. This seems to break its cool, its eyes flaming with pure rage. The prey it was toying with fought back, playtime is over. It started swiping away at me with new found ruthlessness and anger, shredding the armor and some flesh off my torso. I respond by shooting a web at it's eyes, dodging the blind slashes. I slash across the beast's chest leaving a huge gash in the armor. In that time it managed to get the web out of its eyes. I try to decapitate the Ursa but it catches the blade in its fucking teeth. Most of it shatters from the pressure the jaw applied, before I can get my hand away it clubs me in the head sending me falling to the ground. It has a predator-like grin on his face, out of desperation I try to punch him.

"AUGHHHHHHHHH!" I let out a horrified scream as I feel my limb start tearing off from the elbow down. The creature has a cruel look in its eyes as it begins to chew on my arm. As a last ditch effort I thrust my sword into its chest, an attempt filled with despair and rage.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" I yell enraged.
The blade shines a bright purple and disappears as the energy moves into the bear itself.
ROOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
It let out a pained cry towards the sky, from its eyes and mouth erupts a bright purple light illuminating the sky and turning it a purple hue. It then promptly stops as the bear falls to the ground with a heavy thud.

"I-I…did it." I barely manage to whisper before I fall on my knees. My eyelids start to grow heavier, soon after closing.

-xXx-

I wake up and try to rise off the ground, only to slip because of the apparent lack of one arm. After a more careful and methodical rise I stand up. I inspect my surroundings and notice a strange sight, a massive bear-like creature is standing atop a pile of grimm corpses ripping a beowolf apart. I start walking towards it to see its features.

The creature is covered in light blue-ish armour plates, under it resting a constantly shifting black and gold mass, it has purple scale-like skin. Its eyes are an eerie white hue that gives off the illusion of glowing. It's claws and fangs are long and a deep purple colour with the ends a glittering gold. It has a giant purple gash across its chest which seems to be glowing. One of its arms is made up of different shades of purple with spikes at its joints, one on the end of the elbow and multiple on the shoulder.

Wait, it kind of resembles a void corrupted grimm. The only ursa I know that had similar damage as this one was that fucker. The monster noticed me, it jumped down from the pile and landed right in front of me. The next thing it did confused me greatly, it knelt. I start connecting the facts, the flash was an activation of void corrupt, the grimm corpses must be grimm he was defending me from. I honestly don't know what to think about this.

"You're the Ursa Major from before right?" It nods at my question. "And you killed all those grimm to defend me?" Another nod this time more eager. "Okay you can stand up now, I still don't like you after what you did but without you I'll most likely die, so you can stay for now." I say pouting, the grimm smiles at that. "I might as well check if I still don't have mana, status." I mutter.

"Wait, Voidling hivemind what do you mean?! System explain!" I say confused.

Your race has changed from human to voidling hivemind after your 'death'. Didn't you find your ability to manifest weapons weird?

"So I'm not human anymore?" Noticing my sad reaction the bear gave me a comforting pat on the back. "What do you think you're doing?!" I exploded at it. "You don't get to be all buddy buddy with me after killing everyone I knew!" The creature visibly recoiled at my exclamation.

"But wait does this mean I get to keep the absorption ability I got?" I ask hoping something positive comes out of my race change.

No. That ability was a temporary boon from the 'watchers', I believe it was an ability related to the 'hunger' aspect of the void and it's abominations.

"Skills." I say trying to distract myself.

Huh, the new skills will certainly be useful, some of them I already utilised and they proved pretty effective. Killer Instinct will be incredibly helpful if I have to fight a huntsman, I seriously need to work on getting aura. Cold reason is as good as it is dangerous. If I give it bad instructions I could pay in a more permanent way.

Now I need to decide where to go next. Vale is out of the picture there is no arguing about that. Vacuo, Mistral, Atlas and Meanagrie are my options. Vacuo is out because of the headmaster's association with Salem. I know too little about Mistral. Meanagrie could be dangerous especially if faunus are able to determine my race. That leaves Atlas. I could work with that, they desire two things: Scientific progress and military power. With my Eidetic memory and knowledge of technology from earth I could provide both.

"Bear, do you have any idea where the nearest town is?" It looked at me for a second with a thoughtful expression, then started nodding. "Well lead the way then." It sniffed the air, catching the scent it needed. It spun in a direction and started walking, with me closely behind it.
