(Continuing From The Previous Chapter, Now With Kuzuku and the Others. . .)
Sounds of battle was echoing and causing the air to vibrate throughout the icy terrain. The ground below trembled from each shockwave that traveled above its surface, causing more of the icy terrain to become ruptured and turned into molten ground. It was a total warzone, one that reflected the great contrast between ice and fire. However, suddenly a group of Saiyans appeared on top of a cliff due to the luxury of Kuzuku's instant transmission. The primal Saiyan looked around, swinging at how quickly the fight escalated to the point that one could definitely assume has gone too far.
"Goku must have his hands full right about now. . .," Kuzuku noted, "However, we better find him quickly and put an end to this before Frieza's plan comes to fruition."
"Not to be rude but. . .couldn't you have teleported us to him in the first place?" Cabba asked, seeing how the technique was practical enough to essentially get around anywhere.
Kuzuku shook his head, knowing the reason why he couldn't teleport directly to them, "I couldn't. The thing about instant transmission is that it gets harder to teleport to someone directly from a large distance, especially whether they are masking their power or there are two incredibly powerful Ki users exerting themselves. With Goku having to go all out and Broly practically out of control, I can't pin-point Frieza's location at that distance without taking a bit more time which is what we lack at the moment."
"That's quite inconvenient. . ." Caulifla commented.
The primal Saiyan was about to reply to that remark until he heard a loud boom from a distance. He turned around, his eyes instantly noticing the litter of shockwaves that covered the ashen sky. Kuzuku focused his vision a bit more, eventually catching a glimpse of Goku and Broly trading fists as they dodged each other blows. However, the hero of Earth himself was smiling as he used his right arm to deflect Broly's fist to the side before landing a firm gut punch that caused him to keel over. The enraged Saiyan's eyes were stunned from the blow before he growled at Earth's defender below him. Blindly, he raised his elbow and brought it down upon Goku with the intent to send him rocketing to the ground. However, his opponent was far too skilled for that attack to land as Goku simply side-stepped his attack while delivering a firm counter punch to across the face. Blood spewed into the air and Broly's eyes were growing blank as he faded in and out of consciousness a few times from the strike.
Before he could recover, Goku thrusted his palm into his chest and focused his energy to the center. It didn't take long for the glowing blue light of his Ki to expand from his hand before it sent a pulsating shockwave that passed through the enormous Saiyan's body before sending him hurling through the skies in howls of pain. Nonetheless, after crashing through an enormous rock structure, Broly managed to regain his composure a bit and stop himself from flying any further away. He grunted, his back facing the ground while his face faced the dark sky above. Blood leaked out from the side of his mouth and as he slowly up-righted himself, his furious yellow eyes were glaring back down at the Saiyan who was smiling back at him.
"ARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Broly screamed, his dark green ki flaring with even more intensity than before.
Despite this, Goku wasn't surprised and only continued to smile at the fact that he was still getting stronger and putting up a fight, "That's it, you're still trying to close the gap. But it's too late, the gap between us is too huge for you to overcome now.". As that thought passed, the enraged Saiyan dashed towards him with so much speed that he left several sonic booms behind him that split the flowing lava behind him. Goku chucked and did the same in order to intercept his attack. The two streams of energy clashed in the center, the light radiating so bright that it made the sun look like a candle in comparison. As it dialed down, it soon unraveled Broly being struck hard across the face while Goku had narrowly dodged his right jab that was meant to stun him. However, Broly's eyes began to grow green: his growls barely escaped his lips as he looked back at Goku's smirk. He roared, throwing another punch aimed at Goku's gut to only have it caught mid-way.
"Sorry Broly, but this is about as far as your raw potential will take you!" Goku chuckled, though his words fell deaf to his ear. He simply kept throwing punch after punch until it ever-so-slowly became an onslaught of never ending assault of strikes with a few kicks in hopes to throw Earth's defender off guard.
Kuzuku watched the fight continue from there, the two warriors going back and forth: commenting in his head, "Goku looks to have the upper hand while Broly seems to actually be slowing down. Perhaps I was worried for nothing. . ."
"That idiot. . .!" A loud grunt intruding upon the group of Saiyans. They all turned to see who owned the voice, somewhat guessing who it was before they really got a glimpse on them. Slightly battered and holding his head as if he had a hangover, Vegeta treaded towards them slowly before finally regrouping to watch the display, "This fight should have been done by now! He's prolonging this on purpose so he can get a kick out of it."
Lottus and Cabba glanced at him with slight surprise, the smaller of the two questioning, "Master Vegeta. . .where did you come from?"
"That bastard caught me by surprise and knocked me unconscious with that sudden burst of strength!" Vegeta growled, unhappy to admit that he let his guard down for once, "I woke up in a cavern only to come back to an entire hell zone. Just what is Kakarot thinking, clearly that guy is too dangerous to continue fighting."
"Well, it doesn't seem like he's having a hard time," Caulifla noted as he saw Goku catch Broly's fist before throwing him over his shoulder and into a pile of rubble. It didn't take long for the wild Saiyan to burst out of the pile and back towards the fight, this time growing a bit faster but nowhere close to catching Goku with a clean hit.
Kuzuku nodded in agreement, "That's true, though I can't help but feel uneasy. If this is the extent of Broly's power then why is Frieza so confiden-!" He stopped mid sentence, alarming his allies as to why he froze. They all walked forward, noticing that Kuzuku was staring below them with a bewildered face. After taking the time to glance at what he was looking at, they all spotted the infamous galactic emperor walking towards the cliff above the sea of lava. He seemed to be smiling despite the fact that Goku was currently winning by a large margin.
"It's Frieza. . .but why is he smiling?" Vegeta asked in curiosity.
Kuzuku's eyes narrowed before deciding his next course of action, "I don't know but he's through. . .!" Without hesitation, the primal Saiyan jumped down along with his allies following suit, the hot winds rustling his fur as they landed one by one. Their descent didn't go unnoticed as Frieza glanced back at them with slight annoyance but simply regained his confidence. He turned around with a smirk, his glowing red-eyes shooting daggers at them, taunting them to come and try something.
"My my, you're back Kuzuku, Vegeta. . .and you brought those monkey's from universe 6 too? Did my son scare you away?" Frieza chuckled, mocking them with an amused look on his face.
Kuzuku smirks, "No, in fact, your son is taking a nice nap right about now. Mainly because of me by the way. Now, you might as well surrender while you still can and we'll make this quick for you."
There was a long silence, the Saiyan group that resided on Earth currently half expecting for Frieza to be shocked at that revelation. However, they were only met with another amusing chuckle before it turned into laughter. They were confused. Why was he laughing? Does he not understand the predicament he was in? His prodigy of a son was out cold and indented into the ground. His manipulated Saiyan warrior was currently getting outmatched by Goku and now he was face-to-face with six Saiyans: two of which can go toe-to-toe with him by themselves. So why was he so confident?
"Did you really think that this was all an unfortunate event for me? That I was once again careless?" Frieza asked, earning a raised eyebrow from the Saiyan.
Kuzuku's eyes widened a bit, "Wha-what?"
"Tsk, tsk, I expected you to return after defeating my son. I knew that the moment you left that he never stood a chance," Frieza admitted, "But, that was simply all a part of my plan. You see, Ize's potential is far greater than you could ever hope to imagine. He's only been freed this month and his power is outstanding. However, with that power came a lust for battle: as revolting as that sounds since it resembles you Saiyans greatly. That's why I needed him to be 'humbled' by one of you."
"Why would you do that? What are you planning, Frieza!" Vegeta shouted in a demand for answers.
Frieza smirked, "That is none of your business, prince. I can't just reveal all my secrets now can I?"
"Even so, that doesn't explain why you are so confident. The current situation you are in is clearly not in your favor!" Kuzuku noted, slightly annoyed at Frieza's aloof attitude, "You won't get the chance to pull off what you're plotting after this! As you can see, Broly's nearly reaching his limit and still hasn't managed to transform into a Super Saiyan! At this rate, Goku will overthrow him and put him down for the count which will leave just you!"
"Is that what you think?" Frieza chuckled, causing Kuzuku to be taken back by his quick response. Is that what he thinks? Does he have another plot that he's been hiding? A secret weapon or transformation that grants him power beyond belief? No, that can't be. He couldn't have done enough training to gain that much power in such a short amount of time. But what could it be? With those thoughts repeating within the group of Saiyans' minds, a sudden grunt of an old man drew their attention. Their eyes wandered towards the direction where the sound was coming from and soon noticed Paragus trying to lift himself up. After a short minute, the old Saiyan finally hoisted himself over and onto his knees before finally standing up to see the destruction that his son had caused.
He grimaced at the sight, the wild and feral sounds of his son's ferocious roars ringing in his ears, "Broly. . ." he muttered silently to himself as he saw Broly swing hook after hook from both sides, only for them to be deflected ever-so-easily by Goku.
"He's. . .far out of my control now. It's over. . .I can't do a thing about it. . .," Paragus mumbled to himself in a defeated tone.
Frieza smiled widely, his sudden grin catching the attention of the old man, "Now, now Paragus. There is no need to worry. I am satisfied by the little field test that your son had displayed. You've done a great job.". The sudden wave of kind words coming from his mouth snapped the old man out of his trance, bowing before the galactic emperor of the universe.
"Th-thank you my lord. . ." Paragus said in a grateful and respectful tone.
Ignoring his formal response, Frieza turned back at Kuzuku who was still confused as to what he was plotting. He grinned, showing nothing but mischievousness and malevolent intent with his glowing red eyes that reflected the lighted emitted from the molten lava, "Kuzuku, I see that you figured out the fact that I wanted to use Broly's power to destroy you through his Super Saiyan transformation. As you see, he hasn't transformed yet which is both expected yet disappointing."
"Where are you getting at Frieza. . ." The primal Saiyan growled, his tone threatening.
"After dealing with you Saiyans for years, I've learned something. . ." Frieza commented, his sinister grin widening while his red eyes glanced back at Paragus, "Strong, uncontrolled emotions draw out absurd bursts of strength and due to that, you gain new powers, new transformations. . .but, how does one draw out those emotions? Making you angry takes a great deal of effort and despair is hard to instill on your iron hearted wills. However, for a person like me, I know the best way to draw out a Saiyans rage quickly, heheheheheh. . . "
Time froze after the last part of his sentence registered in both Kuzuku's and Vegeta's minds. Their hearts sank as Frieza glanced back at Paragus with malevolent intent, the latter being unaware of what he was about to do. Before Vegeta and Kuzuku could so much as take action, the frost demon pointed his finger at the old man and fired a quick beam through his heart. Everyone's eyes widened in shock as Paragus let out a gasp, his body stunned from the sudden piercing of his heart and the sharp pain in his chest. Soon enough, blood leaked out from his mouth, eyes wide and glued onto the frost demon who chuckled at his handy work.
"Lo-lord Fri. . .za. . ." Paragus gasps for his final breath. His body stumbled backwards and bit before finally falling off the cliff's edge that crumbled along with him. The sound of rocks breaking abruptly stopped the fight that was going on from a distance. The two battling Saiyans glanced over to see what was going on until they were both shocked at what they saw.
Hurling towards the sea of lava below was the lifeless body of Paragus who's eyes could only reflect the image of a distraught and shocked Broly. The enormous Saiyan's lips quivered, eyes shaking until he suddenly screamed with a surge of energy as he rushed towards his parent's supposed rescue, "FAAAAATHER!". Broly quickly closed the distance between them just in a nick of time, catching his father's lifeless body before bringing it to the one of the rocks that was surrounded by lava.
He looked down and examined his father's shocked face and lifeless eyes. He could tell from first glance, from the wound on his chest that showed that his heart was pierced with accurate precision to the lifeless expression. He was dead. No pulse, no signs of movement, all stillness and forever unconscious. Broly's eyes shook, his breath becoming uneasy as Goku watched from above. He felt like he couldn't breath, that everything was all but a dream. But no, this was all too real, the coldness of his father's hands despite the scorching heat around him proved that. The large Saiyan gritted his teeth, growling as his dark green aura shrouded his body. Everyone present could feel his strength begin to rise as Broly gripped tightly to his dad's corpse. The winds began to grow fierce, his head starting to spin and exude an annoying headache.
"Fa. . .father . . ." Broly managed to choke out, his aura flaring slightly bigger after muttering those words. After a brief moment, the large Saiyan let go of his father along with his sanity. His eyes grew wide and the sclera turned red as he screamed to the skies, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
His screams overlapped the loud Oozaru roar that came with it and in his angst came an enormous eruption of dark green energy that shot into the sky: causing it to spiral around and eventually turn into a full on hurricane that made a category six one look like a joke. Everyone, including the cause of this rise of energy became shocked as Broly's cries of pain resonated with their ears. Kuzuku along with his comrades struggled to maintain their footing, the primal Saiyan barely being able to see what was in front of him while Frieza cackled like a mad man.
"YES! THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE POWER THAT I'VE BEEN WAITING TO SEE, BROLY! HAHAH! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Frieza shouted with joy.
Kuzuku grunted, infuriated at what he had done, "Frieza, you unremorseful bastard! When I get my hands on yo-!" He didn't have time to finish his sentence as he watched another burst of energy pushed against him. He couldn't believe how much Broly's power was rising, almost as if it were never ending. Slowly, the Saiyan in question began to rise from the sea of lava, his pupils cracking before finally shattering to release the final burst of energy. The large pillar expanded so quickly that everyone barely had time to back away, leaving at least half of the ground they were standing on to become completely disintegrated. As each of them landed back on solid ground, Broly continued to rise before finally reaching just below the clouds. He had no pupils and his sclera glowed bright right until they simmered down to a pure white. His already spiked up hair turned into a greenish-yellow that was identical to a certain female Saiyans Super Saiyan state.
"I should have known. . .," Kuzuku growled, earning questioning eyes from the universe 6 Saiyans, "I knew his Ki signature felt similar to someone. This just confirms and explains everything!"
"Care to explain for those who are left in the dark!" Caulifla asked in annoyance at the self muttering.
"Don't you see? His power and distinctive Ki signature is similar to Kale!" Kuzuku exclaimed, shocking her at how worried he was.
Vegeta grunted, knowing full well what he meant by that, "He's right, this just got a whole lot more difficult. That bastard. . .he's definitely THE ancient Saiyan of myth!"
"Saiyan myth, what are you talking about?" Lottus asked with curiosity.
"In universe 7, we had a legend about the Super Saiyans that once existed among us. However, we were probably confused with the real story of the Super Saiyan transformation. The form that we use is probably just the ordinary Super Saiyan transformation, however, that timid woman right here and that bastard must have a unique gene that makes them different!" Vegeta spat, his eyes glued at the enrage Saiyan that continued to power-up, "If this is all true, then the ruthless, bloodthirsty warrior of legend who wielded a Super Saiyan transformation had to have used a form like tha-araaaaaagh!"
The Saiyan prince was interrupted by another burst of energy that shook the ground, rupturing the surrounding area with its immense force. Broly let out another roar, his Ki skyrocketing once more despite how much power he had already gained. Kuzuku's eyes widened as the pillar of light slowly turned into a ginormous ball of energy, "His power. . .it's overflowing at an extraordinary rate! Oh no. . ." He quickly turned around at the universe 6 Saiyans behind him, his expression filled with dread and worry.
"Everyone! Get behind us, now!" Kuzuku demanded. This time, without much protest, the Saiyans of universe 6 gathered behind Goku and Vegeta though readied themselves for what's to come. Wasting no time, Vegeta transformed into his Mastered Super Saiyan Blue, knowing full well that there was no time to be holding back. Broly on the other hand began growling before roaring so loudly that he could probably be heard miles away and be considered standing next to someone. In just a short burst of Ki that caused the sky to glow green, the enormous orb that shrouded Broly began to unleash a large-scale barrage of energy blasts that covered the entire area.
In response, both the Saiyan prince and his primal Saiyan companion extended their hands outwards and immediately created a barrier constructed from their Ki. It only took seconds for the rain of Ki blast to ram themselves into their only line of defense, with each impact cracking the barrier ever-so-slowly. Meanwhile Goku couldn't help but grimaced at the sight before him, his instincts telling him that he should act quickly. Wasting no time, his hands began deflecting one, two, three, before he found himself trying to deflect as many blasts as he could. All the while the entire area was being nuked, painting a scene of true devastation. As the onslaught continued, Broly growled before letting out another roar that caused his barrage to cease for a moment. Everyone was confused as to what he was doing until the giant ball of energy surrounding him began to expand further and further until it finally turned into an explosive wave that obliterated anything in its path.
Cabba couldn't believe his eyes for a moment as the sheer destructive might of his unchained anger came towards him, "Guys. . .I think we should move!".
"You don't have to tell us twice!" Lottus agreed, flaring his Ki almost at the same time as everyone else. Wasting no time at all, the group of Saiyans took off into the sky and flew as fast as they could to get away from the explosion. Goku groaned, cursing himself slightly for not ending the fight in time to prevent this but simply decided to not dwell on it much as he took off into a full on sprint through the skies.
The ensuing destruction behind him was starting to settle down but he could tell that this could escalate if they didn't hurry up and do something. From the corner of his eye, he could see Frieza's stream of light fleeing the scene, the galactic emperor making a clean escape with no one chasing after him. Goku snarled mentally after finally realizing it, "Damnit, Frieza! You planned this from the beginning, didn't you!?"
"Kakarot!" A familiar voice shouted from a distance. He looked to his side as Vegeta along with his other allies were fast approaching towards him, eventually regrouping all together as they were trying to create some distance from the settling explosion.
"Hey, Vegeta! How was your nap?" Goku asked jokingly despite the situation.
The Saiyan prince snarled at him, annoyed at how carefree he was at the moment, "Don't test me now, clown! We have a bigger problem now! I told you that this one was one that we couldn't mess around with!"
"Yeah, his power is enormous. I honestly didn't expect him to become this powerful. . ." Goku agreed as he dialed in on his increasing power, "It's still rising and even now, he's probably more powerful than all of us combined. I don't even think my Kaioken would be enough to close the gap."
"Tch, you're right! Even my Shinka Blue isn't enough! Dammit!" Vegeta grunted from reading Broly's Ki.
Kuzuku groaned after hearing those facts. There were no other options that they could think of except for one. But as it stands now, someone had to stay behind in order to buy enough time to perform it correctly. Knowing that, Kuzuku knew what had to be done.
"Listen everyone, I think I got an idea. . .," Kuzuku said, his tone sounding a bit unsure as to the plan he thought of. They all turned to look at him, causing each of them to stop mid-air as they were far enough to be safe for the time-being, "It's risky but this is probably the only chance we got."
"Well spill it, it's not like we have much time before he comes after us," Caulifla somewhat barked.
Kuzuku sighed and continued, "His power is clearly far greater than all of us. Which means that we can't fight him as we are now. That only leaves one option left, Goku. . ." The mentioning of his name confused him for a moment, the younger Saiyan already knowing he wouldn't catch on until it finally clicked to him.
"Wait, you mean Fusion?! That's right, how could I forget!?" Goku exclaimed with a wide smile while all of the Universe 6 Saiyans were wondering what they were talking about.
Caulifla raised an eyebrow, somewhat familiar with the concept of fusion due to the Tournament of Power, "Wait, you mean like combining two body's into one with the earrings?".
"It's similar, but this Fusion is performed differently. It's a dance from the Metamorans that allows two beings to merge into one more powerful being. Though there are limitations to it as both users must lower or raise their Ki to equal their partners and the time limit is shorter than the Potara fusion," the hero of Earth explained, earning a small awe at the technique's explanation.
Kuzuku nodded, confirming this was what he was talking about, "That's right, however, with what little time we have I doubt we can perform it properly. Last time I did it, Zugo and I got lucky that we didn't mess it up against Janemba. However, after trying multiple times we couldn't quite get it down."
"That sounds just about right, but if that's the case then what you are saying is that we need to buy time for the fusion to work?" Goku assumed.
"Correct, which is where I come in. I'll buy you enough time to practice with Vegeta. Until then, we will hold them off until you're fused selves get back," Kuzuku confirmed.
However, the Saiyan prince blushed brightly at the sound of him fusing with his rival, "Now wait just a moment, why do I have to fuse with HIM!? Especially with that stupid, embarrassing dance!" The younger Saiyan raised an eyebrow.
"Huh?" Kuzuku replied, oblivious as to what the problem was, "I don't see the problem, Vegeta. Compared to me, the Fusion will be much more stable and powerful since you and Goku are almost a perfect match. Besides, I still have a trump card I can use to stall for more time if we aren't able to last long enough."
"Sti-still! There's no way I'm doing that ridiculous dance with Kaka-!" Vegeta spat before stopping mid sentence. His eyes wandered below him, immediately catching sight of his wife next to the angel who was staring back up at him with a smile on his face. The nervous look he was getting gave way to an opportunity for Goku to sneak in a joke.
"What's wrong, Vegeta? You wouldn't want to risk the Earth alongside your Bulma over something like a dance, right?" Goku teased.
Vegeta could feel his vein popping from the claim he just made, his eyebrow twitching irritatedly for a moment until he finally conceded, "Fi-Fine! I'll do that stupid dance, but only this once! After that, I am never doing it ever again!"
"That's the spirit, Vegeta!" Goku cheered triumphantly, "Now I have the perfect instructor in mind to teach you in no time!"
"Tch, whatever," The Saiyan prince spat and folded his arms.
Kuzuku chuckled at the scene in front of him, unfazed at the fact that they could still bicker like this despite the situation being so serious. Though, he knew they didn't have much time as their moment was interrupted by a loud scream behind them. They all turned to see Broly charging towards them with murderous intent in his eyes.
The primal Saiyan glanced at Goku, "It's about time you two get going. Our friend here looks anxious to bash our skulls in."
"You got it, we'll be counting on you guys until we get back!" Goku happily agreed, grabbing the Saiyan prince's shoulder before placing his fingers on his forehead to concentrate. Before they knew it, the Saiyan duo disappeared in a blink of an eye: leaving the rest of them to fend off their now out of control kin on their own.
As he fast approaches, Kuzuku cracked his knuckles and got into a defensive stance, "Alright, I know you guys just recovered and all but this is one fight that I really can't guarantee your safety in! If anything, I'll be the main one fighting up close! I'll need the rest of you to cover me from a distance and attack where he isn't on guard!"
"Tch, now I'm reduced to a support role? This is some bull-" Caulifla growled as she took her stance along with her universe 6 allies. However, she couldn't finish her sentence as in what would seem like mere seconds, Broly closed the distance between the group of Saiyans in no time at all. Shocked by his speed, Kuzuku cringed at the already ensuing punch that was coming straight towards his face. In response, the primal Saiyan shifted to the left and used his forearm to stir the punch off course. The blow grazed and grinded against Kuzuku's arm, the force leaving a burning sensation as Kuzuku grunted in a bit of pain from trying to skillfully deflect it. Taking no chances of missing an opening, he swung his leg high into a roundhouse kick that was meant to send him flying away.
To his shock, Broly leaned back enough for the kick to miss: earning a small gasp from his furry opponent. But, Kuzuku didn't allow his momentum to be thrown off and simply spun around mid-air before ducking under a right hook aimed at his jaw. Swiftly, he countered with several rapid punches at his stomach to which it left a couple of small cracks in his armor. There was a moment of pause as Broly contemplated what happened before he growled, his voided eyes glaring down at shocked orange ones. Before Kuzuku could react, he felt his large hand grab his entire face before he dragged him towards the nearest rock: the primal Saiyan kicking him repeatedly in the ribs to force him to let go. However, it was proved useless as soon as he felt his back get slammed into the side of some large boulder. He gasped, the pain washing over him before it was all drowned out from the sight of Broly reeling his fist. He grimaced at the sight, though he was still filled with fight in him. Growling, Broly hurled his fist towards Kuzuku intending to slam him through the rock behind him but the primal Saiyan kicked both his legs up and wrapped them around his arm before it could even reach past halfway. As he was shocked, Kuzuku then pushed against the boulder with both of his free hands and began to flip backwards with tremendous power: so much that Broly's oversized body was lifted higher in the air as the two Saiyans practically circled each other.
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" Kuzuku howled, his hips and legs rotating in one motion. Evidently, Broly was then slammed face first into the rock that was formerly Kuzuku corner, the impact leaving multiple cracks in the structure as his face was buried inside. While upside down, Kuzuku inwardly smirked as he tried to slow his breathing, though he was soon taken back as soon as he saw green light seeping through the cracks. Catching on quickly, he crossed his arms ready to defend himself from what comes next. A bright flash erupted before Broly unleashed a large beam that shot straight from his mouth. Kuzuku groaned, the feeling of his skin burning as he was sent flying through the air. Though, after a good couple of seconds, Kuzuku flared finally gathered the strength to flare his Ki to form a barrier around himself: thus forcing the energy wave to disperse into multiple directions in which it shredded parts of the ground with so much force that it caused even more lava to erupt beneath them.
The enraged Saiyan grinded his teeth, growling before rocketing towards Kuzuku with giving him time to breathe. The distance between them was closed so fast that Kuzuku was caught off guard until he noticed his fist almost inches from his face. Impressively however, he managed to weave to the left just in the nick of time, his fist only grazing his cheek as both of his hands began to glow along with his eyes. Quickly, Kuzuku slammed his right palm into the enormous Saiyan's chest before following up with another palm strike to his navel to the point that it left Broly stunned. Taking advantage of the opening that he created, Kuzuku proceeded to deliver multiple palm strikes to both areas until he finally reached the 20th consecutive blow, his final strike aimed in-between the chest and stomach.
"Imperial Dragon Dance:. . .," Kuzuku muttered, his tone full of seriousness. He thrusted his final blow into Broly, the strike sending a pulsating shockwave that created powerful winds that ruptured the ground far below, "Ascending Combination!"
The aftershock from the blow left Broly gagging in pain, his feral voice barely seeping through his lips as Kuzuku was ready to retract his strike: confident that he would be able to slow him down considerably with that move. But to his dismay, he suddenly felt a firm grip grab his hand: the touch causing his eyes to widen as Broly's growls grew louder along with his aura. The primal Saiyan couldn't fathom what was happening, "He managed to take all that damage to his core muscles and still has strength to move?!"
Just as that thought passed through his head, Broly let out a loud roar, his fist already decking Kuzuku so hard in the face that the shockwave echoed through the air, shattering the ground and whatever rocky structure that was behind him. If he didn't have such a firm grip on his arm, the primal Saiyan probably would have been sent flying into the sea of lava by now. Though, that would have probably been a blessing as Kuzuku was given no time to process the pain he was feeling due to Broly kneeing him immediately after with at least double the force.
"Gaaaghhhh-!" He coughed, the feeling of his stomach being crushed, nearly knocking him out. However, it was short lived as Broly proceeded to deliver another knee. . .and then another. . .before it eventually turned into a brutal onslaught of knees to the stomach in a rapid motion. Each blow to connect felt twice as painful as the last and Kuzuku was beginning to cough up blood from each strike. He couldn't believe how much more powerful he had gotten, and due to his intense rage: he knew that Broly was out to kill. Especially since the primal Saiyan was close to passing out again until he noticed his enraged opponent reeling another knee. From what he could sense and the aura surrounding the large Saiyan's body, he could tell that this one was meant to send him over the bridge. He clenched his teeth, bracing himself for the pain to come until he heard a union battle cry fast approaching them.
The loud roars snapped Broly's attention away from him and caused him to turn around moments before the collision of two firm shoes slamming into his face. Due to being caught off guard, Broly couldn't help but grovel in pain, his grip loosening on Kuzuku's wrist. Taking the chance presented to him, the primal Saiyan then formed an energy ball in his free hand and slammed it into the side of Broly's ribs before unleashing the energy ball into a beam that sent him flying into the ground. The large Saiyan's body hit the surface hard enough to cause a large eruption of debris to reach towards the clouds though he highly doubt that he'd be taken out just like that.
As he was struggling to recompose himself, he glanced over to one of his saviors with a smile, "Thanks for that, Caulifla. I was sure that he was going to finish me if you hadn't stepped in. . ."
"Well, it's not like we had much of a choice. If you died, who was going to train us?" Caulifla replied in a rather calm tone with a contrasting worried look.
Kuzuku nodded and looked back down at Broly who was slowly getting back up as if nothing happened, "I suppose that's fair, though even from a combined attack from both you and Kale: he still has so much power left that it's scary. Not even one of my best moves was enough to slow him down. . ."
"Then what do you suppose we do? He's so fast that I didn't even see him move. One second we were talking and the next thing we knew he was beating you senseless," Caulifla asked in all seriousness.
Kuzuku thought for a moment as they all regrouped to form a new plan. After some thought, Kuzuku looked over to Kale, "Caulifla and Kale will support me upfront. Clearly he is too much to handle for me alone. Cabba, you'll try to keep him preoccupied from a distance. Don't let him get off any close range Ki blasts that he may fire out of the blue. Lottus, I'm gonna need you to keep your distance and watch for any signs of openings. If you see one, hit him hard with everything you got."
"Wait, why am I fighting him head on? Shouldn't-" Kale started to argue however, she was quickly cut off.
"Because as of right now, you have enough strength to pull your own weight. Not only that, because you and Caulifla are well suited in terms of fighting together: Broly will have trouble trying to deal with you while he's fighting me," Kuzuku noted, giving her the thumbs up, "Just believe in your strength a little more. . ."
Kale thought for a moment, soaking in everything he just said. She looked over to Caulifla who was smiling at her, encouraging her to do the same. After some thought, she nodded and her expression was determined, "O-okay, I'll try my best."
"That a girl, now we don't have much time to really prepare ourselves. I rather not get surprised again so. . ." Kuzuku noted as he paid close attention to the Saiyan glaring back up at him. His eyes narrowed in on him, his energy flaring as he got ready to charge, "Let's do this!
With zero fear on his mind, Kuzuku charged full speed ahead, his amber energy leading a stream of several golden ki behind him along with the single green energy that was grouped with him. Broly snarled, his roar unleashing a large torrent of dark green energy that indented the ground beneath him as he kicked off the ground with so much speed that he caused the surface to shatter. In seconds, the auras clash into a blinding flash of light before eventually the sky was littered with numerous shockwaves and afterimages of the fierce battle at hand.
(Now With Goku and Vegeta, Rocky Pillar Plains Biome Close By The BattleGround. . .)
The rocky plains were quiet. . .very quiet in contrast to the now volcanic battlefield hundreds of miles away. The winds were unusually calm despite the elevation being records high compared to most rocky structures in the plains. However, standing on one of the grassy pillars was Piccolo who seemed to be waiting patiently, his eyes closed as if he was focusing on something. But he was soon interrupted by the sound of teleportation behind him, the sound of feet touching the ground causing him to turn to meet who it was face to face.
"Hey, Piccolo! Glad you were close by, saved me the trouble of searching heheheh!" Goku chirped, waving to his old rival as Vegeta stood next to him.
The Namekian was unfazed by his sudden appearance, "Let me guess, you both got your ass kicked?"
"More than likely, yes. Though we don't have a lot of time at the moment," Goku affirmed, "Kuzuku and the others are trying to buy us time but I don't think they can last very long with just him there. We need to fuse and fast, so mind helping us out a bit?"
Piccolo folded his arms and huffed at the question with such an obvious answer, "I don't really have much of a choice. From what I am sensing, they are definitely on the losing end. But don't worry too much, I'll whip the prince into shape so you two can fuse."
"I don't like your tone, Namek!" Vegeta snapped, a clear vein popping to indicate his annoyance.
"Whatever, now let's see your initial fusion. If you're lucky, then you'll both get it on the first try and save us 30 minutes," Piccolo insisted.
Vegeta raised an eyebrow, turning to Goku with a glare that could pierce a hole through a mountain "Wait, 30 minutes? Hey, Kakarot! Do you really think we have time to waste like this?!". Goku chuckled nervously, waving his hands in defense from the look he was giving him.
"Hey, this was the best option anyways! Besides, we should believe in their strength right? I'm sure they can handle themselves!" Goku assured, though the prince of the universe 7 Saiyans was clearly unconvinced. Judging from their conversation alone along with their consistent history of having the inability to work together even at crucial times only made Piccolo shake his head at how difficult it would be to get Vegeta coordinated with Goku.
He rubbed his temples, sighing heavily, "I sure hope you are able to stay alive, Kuzuku. . ."
(Returning Back To The Fiery Battlefield, Ice Continent. . .)
*BOOM!*
A loud sonic boom echoed through the air, causing violent vibrations to rupture the surrounding area. From a distance, a large ring of air pressure could be vaguely seen as a beam of orange light was sent hurling towards the ground. The figure surrounded by the light was literally doing uncontrollable summersault mid-air, his face contorted due to the pain he was feeling after being hit by probably the second hardest punch he has ever taken. Quickly, he finally uprighted himself just in time for his feet to skid across the ground, his martial arts shoes creating an indented trail as he slowed himself down.
Kuzuku groaned as blood trickled down the left side of his lip, his thoughts quickly turning into silent prayers "I really hope they get it on the first try. . .". However, those prayers were quickly halted by the sight of Broly charging towards him, his aura splitting the ground in two in the process. The primal Saiyan narrowed his eyes, patiently waiting for his strike. The moment Broly clenched his left fist, Kuzuku knew what was coming and premeditated his approach. In one swift motion, he shifted his body to the left as soon as Broly threw his fist in hopes to bury him six feet under. Before he could react to his maneuver, Kuzuku immediately followed up with a palm strike but not to the stomach but to the side of his opponent's forearm: causing it to bend his elbow as well as throw off the large adversaries's balance.
"Araaaaaghhhhh!" Kuzuku roared, leaping into the air in a spin to build momentum while Broly was confused and trying to regain his footing. However, it was proving futile as the primal Saiyan slammed his roundhouse knee into the side of Broly's neck. He earned a low groan from the damage he just dealt, though Kuzuku didn't even have a slim chance to smirk. His eyes widened at the sudden glare Broly gave him, immediately taking notice of Broly balled fist from early, already picking up speed towards him in a hook. He quickly leaned backwards just enough for it to miss, irritating the enraged warrior before him even further due to how slippery he was being. Especially since Kuzuku took the chance to flip backwards to deliver a sneaking rising kick in the process.
Broly growled from his chin suddenly being struck to the point where he was forced to look at the sky. Without even looking, he grabbed Kuzuku by the leg to which it caused the primal Saiyan to shiver in fear. He glanced behind him to see a roundhouse kick coming towards his ribs: his body and mind bracing itself for the blow that has yet to come. Though from the corner of his eye, he noticed something approaching at high-speeds and mentally felt relief as in mere moments, the female figure blocked the blow with her knee. Then, without wasting any more time, she spun around and delivered a spinning kick with her heel across Broly's face before suddenly another female figure with green hair slammed her fist across the opposing side of his face.
With the pain washing over him, Kuzuku managed to kick his hand free with his other leg and flip himself onto the ground just in front of the stunned Broly. He looked back, already sensing the upcoming attack and glanced over at the two girls that just saved his bacon, "Scatter!"
His command immediately was understood as the three fighters leapt away in different directions while Broly had just snapped out of his stunned trance. He glared at Kuzuku, his fangs bearing out while his legs were ready to chase him down, however, suddenly he noticed a surge of power that was occurring in front of him. He growled and glared forward as two golden Ki's were currently raising their power to the max.
"You ready, Cabba!" Lottus shouted, right hand stretched back as it began to gather ki into a large yellow orb behind him. The universe 6 soldier in question flared his Ki as well, his hands clasp together around his face in a similar manner to his master's technique.
He glared, his aura sparking lightning bolts around him, "Yeah! Take this, Galick Gun!".
"Cosmic Bomber!" Lottus roared in union with his comrades' battle cry.
Broly looked forward in a mixture of shock and anger as a large ball of energy was traveling towards him at dangerous speed along with the purple energy wave that was trailing right next to it at arguably similar speed. The energy attack ripped the ground below them as they picked up speed each passing second before finally coming together to form a thick gold and purple energy wave that was tens of times larger than the previous singularities. Seeing this, Broly growled before letting out a powerful roar: his rampant aura flaring into heights that practically dwarfed his previous outbursts. However, this time it condensed into a round barrier surrounding him that expanded so much that it covered a large radius around him. In little time, the blast collided against Broly's newly formed defense, the two opposing forces struggling a bit as the force generated cracked the surface on the battlefield while unleashing a bright light from the center. Suddenly, it exploded into a bright white flash of light that engulfed the barrier while the two universe 6 Saiyans responsible for the attack were blown away from the combined shockwave.
The feeling of their bones being rattled by the pressure made them grunt a bit, their bodies blown through the air until they were suddenly stopped by the feeling of a rather firm grip on their shoulders. They didn't have time to see who it was but they knew as soon as they felt themselves get teleported to a location that was a good distance away from the explosion. They were panting, their breaths struggling to regain a calm harmony from expending so much energy.
Kuzuku looked forward, letting go of the shoulders as he waited for the smoke to clear, "You guys did good on that attack. You definitely forced him to expend some of that excess energy."
"Ahh. . .hah. . .You sure we didn't take him out of commission on that one? We were going all in on trying to settle this quickly. . .," Lottus jested.
The primal Saiyan sighed as he continued to stare into the cloud of ashes before him. His eyes narrowed, spotting a figure beginning to walk towards them. The figure's footsteps were heavy, almost as if he were stomping his feet before his blank eyes could faintly see. Kuzuku frowned, "Nope, I think you only made him more pissed. You two rest up for a few seconds, I'm going back in!".
Before they could question him on his rash decision, Kuzuku already launched forward: leaving a cloud of smoke behind him. He picked up speed quickly, immediately noticed several large balls of energy blast shot in the sky before scattering into a rain that fell towards the universe 7 Saiyan. His eyes focused on moving forward, his feet planting into the ground for a momentary stop before kicking off towards his left to avoid a cluster of blasts that struck the Earth. Wasting no time, he proceeded with another kick of the ground: avoiding another barrage of blasts that fell from the sky as he glided above the ground. His amber ki could be seen moving swiftly between the raining Ki that was quickly being proven to be inefficient at slowing him down. Out of frustration, Broly snarled as he was about to unleash more energy blasts his way until Kuzuku suddenly closed the distance between them without him realizing it. Before he could react, the primal Saiyan spun around to deliver a clean roundhouse kick to the side of his head in order to force his body to lean towards the right. Then, he quickly dropped back down in order to perform a low sweep in the opposite direction, causing the large Saiyan to lose his footing completely. Broly let out a loud, monstrous growl from the feeling of his back slamming into the ground; however, Kuzuku wasn't going to slow down for a moment's end. Quickly, he leapt into the sky above, gaining a great amount of distance before he forcibly stopped himself. He clasped his hands together and began to gather his Ki as he brought them to his waist.
Meanwhile, Broly was starting to slowly get back up faster than Kuzuku had anticipated though before he could spot the primal Saiyan: he felt a small yet firm fist deck him across the face. Pondering as to what had hit him, he glared at the source of the punch to see Kale's shock expression. He growled, his mouth opening as a green light shown from within. The timid female warrior gasped as she knew what was coming next until shockingly enough, Caulifla came from behind and slammed her knee into his chin: forcing it shut so the two could have enough time to follow up with another attack. That in mind, the two female Saiyan roared in union with their bodies spinning into another kick that slammed into his chest with such forces that it sent him flying backwards. As they touched the ground, Caulifla flared her Super Saiyan 2 aura even brighter as she clenched her fist in preparation to chase him down.
"Let's go, Kale. We'll rush him just like how we fought in the tournament of power!" Caulifla shouted, her feet kicking off the ground first with little to no fear.
Kale nodded, her ki flaring to match the same energy as her big sister, "Right!"
She took off behind her, the two flying through the fiery-surface towards their target. Broly grunted, twisting his body so that his right arm that was closer to the ground could dig into the dirt in hopes to slow himself down. However, he didn't even have time to right himself as he was suddenly struck across the face by what seemed to be a kick from a golden light until another blow slammed into his stomach, this time coming from what seemed to be an elbow to the ribs by a lighter green light that followed suit. Soon enough, the two quick blows suddenly erupted into a flurry of strikes that seemed never ending. Each blow seemed to push Broly back further and further, his one arm that was struggling to defend proving to be useless as his large frame gave him far more openings to be hit than he liked. He could feel the sensations of every strike, a jab to the face, followed by a kick to the stomach by the other. Then another punch across his jaw by the feisty golden hair girl before him that was soon matched with a knee to his stomach. It didn't matter where, their blows were coming from all directions and the damage was starting to add up over time.
Kuzuku smirked from above, his hands still gathering energy, "Looks like that training is starting to pay off. Their strikes are far sharper than before. Not only that, since Broly isn't experienced nor is he thinking straight, it makes it all the more easier for their combo attacks to pile up the damage. No matter how strong one may be, taking blows constantly like that will wear anyone down."
Just as he said that, Broly snarled as another kick from Kale was delivered to his jugular. He was starting to get even more pissed off compared to before so much that he decided to release his grip on the ground in order to grab Kale's leg. Confused, Kale couldn't process the feeling of his leg getting grabbed fast enough for her to realize that Broly was glaring right at her. Before she could react, he hoisted her over his head with a vibrating roar and slammed her face first into an already ruptured surface. She gagged in pain while Caulifla watched in a mixture a pure rage and disgusted horror.
"Kale! Tch, bastard!" Caulifla shouted, her fist already hurling towards Broly's face. However, she didn't even get the chance to land the blow as she felt a firm kick slam right into her stomach. Her eyes shrunk from having the wind getting knocked out of her, inevitably coughing out a bit of blood as she realized that blow may have broken some bones. She dropped to her knees, coughing uncontrollably while Broly's foot retracted itself. The enraged Saiyan glared down at her, his hand extended outwards without hesitation. He growled, the uncontrollable green energy becoming more apparent that it was intended to kill by the second. Kuzuku's eyes shrunk, knowing full well that Caulifla was in trouble. Though before he could act, a sudden energy wave was seen traveling shortly above ground towards them: the wave eventually striking the orb that was hovering in front of Broly's palm and sending it hurling into the sky.
A few short moments passed before the ball of untamed energy exploded in a bright green flash that shook the area while Broly was confused as to what had happened. Subsequently though, he didn't have much time to even react as he suddenly felt a dangerously powerful fist strike him dead in the face. His teeth were clenched and grinding from the blow while his grip on Kale's leg loosened enough to drop her to the ground. His blank eyes glared into rather enraged green ones, the male's teeth grinding together. With one last push, he focused all his energy into one last push that sent Broly hurling into one of the boulders far off into the distance. The impact echoed as Broly slammed so hard that the mini-explosion created a small cloud of dust. Hearing this, Caulifla tried to look up to see who saved her but was suddenly grabbed by both shoulders. Her eyes widened, the surprise more apparent than the blood she coughed up leaking down her lips and off her chin from both sides.
"You alright!?" Lottus asked, his face clearly filled with concern, "Where does it hurt?"
Caulifla grunted trying to move, her voice low yet still sounding irritated, "I don't need your concer-araaagh! Kale is more important than myself right now so go check on her. I'm fine!" Lottus recoiled at how easily she dismissed his concerns and watched her try to stand up. She was shaking, her legs wobbling while her arm wrapped around her stomach and waist. The feisty Saiyan coughed a few times only to collapse back onto her knees once more: this time her eyes widening in shock. She breathed heavily while her hair began to return back to it usual black color.
"Wha-what the. . .?" Caulifla gasps, the feeling of her power dropping considerably, shocking her. Lottus was speechless as she kneeled in confusion, unaware of Kale's unconscious state as well as her green Super Saiyan hair reverting back into her long raven form. Before Lottus could speak, Cabba landed next to them and went over to hoist Kale over his shoulder. He turned around to look at his two traveling companions, wondering what had gotten them so shaken up until they heard a loud yell from above.
"Everyone, get as far away from here as you can!" Kuzuku shouted, his voice snapping both Lottus and Caulifla out of their trance. The universe 6 prince looked up to see Kuzuku's ki flared and ready to go, the orb of energy running rampant around his hands as he glared down where Broly was rocketed into. He gulped before looking back down at Caulifla who was just as surprised as he was though he knew he shouldn't waste time standing around. Quickly and grabbed her by the arm and lifted her over his shoulder, the sudden movement causing the pain coming from her stomach to wash over her.
She groaned and was barely able to snap at him, "He-hey! What the hell do you think your-?!"
"No time, we must move now!" Lottus panicked before looking back at his male companion behind, "Cabba let's get a move on, now!"
"You're right, let's go!" Cabba agreed.
The two didn't hesitate to start running, their pride slightly hurt from being forcibly removed from the battle for this one moment. They took off into the skies at full speed, their bodies pushing themselves towards a safe spot that would be enough for them to avoid getting caught in what comes next. Kuzuku glanced over at the two yellow streams of light that were moving farther and farther away before glaring down at the dazed Broly. He was most certainly more annoyed than ever but the primal Saiyan knew that his opponent has much bigger things to worry about than his temper.
"Alright big guy, let's see if you can handle this! X10. . ." Kuzuku growled, his energy flaring even more than before. The pressure emitted attracted Broly's attention from below, his eyes immediately noticing Kuzuku getting ready to unleash one of his strongest attacks. He scrunched his eyebrows, his only response being a loud roar before charging up at him at full speed. The primal Saiyan watched him rip through the air towards him but he knew it was too late for that. His eyes widened as he felt the energy he had been building up rearing to be unleashed. With one last roar, he shouted, "MYSTIC KAMEHAMEHA!"
The palms of his hand thrusted forward with a short pause in-between. The air around him became distorted and the orb of energy was starting to cause the space to bend. Suddenly, all of the stored energy was released at once into a large red and orange beam of energy that was hurling itself straight towards Broly. The size was massive compared to his previous version however, Broly could only scream in rage as he continued to fly towards the blast. Eventually, the two forces of destruction with one clearly beginning to overpower the other. The large Saiyan snarled, growling over and over as he tried to rush straight through the energy wave. However, all he could see was the bright colors of the wave as it pushed him further and further into the ground. The pressure crushed his body along with the scorching heat burning his skin. Though despite this, he struggled more and more until he finally let out one final roar before being completely consumed by the attack. In that moment, the wave finally connected with the ground. Immediately, a large multi-shaded pillar of orange and red erupted from the Earth as the energy explode upon impact. The area surrounded area and lava were blown away from the shockwave along with the remaining mountains that still stood. From that point, all you could see was a battlefield becoming more scorched than ever as the pillar of destructive energy continued to run rampant.
Kuzuku watched from above as the light of his own attack brightened his face, showcasing the amount of sweat he was having due to exerting himself. His arms flopped over to the side, his breathing slowly easing up as the light slowly began to diminish, "That should keep him a bit preoccupied for now. I should go check on Lottus and the others."
A/N: Phew, this one took longer than I expected. I wanted Frieza to do something more cunning this chapter while also having Broly react differently to Paragus's death such as instead of being outright angry he became more shocked and heartbroken to where it led to the big transformation. Also to add, I could have posted this sooner though I didn't get to edit it because I was actually too engrossed in typing two more chapters after this one. Yeah go figure though I still have to edit those as well. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and until we meet again!
