Disclaimer: I do not own the universe of Harry Potter, I am just an overly-obsessed fan with nothing better to do.
August 1st 1991
It had been just two days since the Founders had left. Amy cherished her memories of them and their gifts.
Today she would go to Diagon Alley and at Gringotts. There was alot of stuff she had to do at Gringotts, she would check the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff vaults and see what stuff was preserved and what properties or artifacts she had. She would put on the heir ring of Black as an Heir Apparent. And today she would open her own vault and check out the things that her Grandmother had.
Whenever Sirius spoke about her, it was warm and sweet but, Sirius didn't remember much about Euphemia Potter herself and neither did her own father. They both remembered more about Fleamont.
She had many questions about her Grandmother, why did she leave all her belongings to specifically Amy?
She woke up and meditated like always, and then took a warm shower. She put on a casual robe with the Black crest. Her long hair was white today and she put it in a loose bun.
Kuro barked at her from his purple bed. Kuro looked so much older, and she was at Amy's knee now. Amy sat down and stroked Kuro under her belly on her favorite spot.
"Cutie I'll be back at the end of the day, don't make a mess and listen to Raya," She cooed. Kuro bobbed her head, which Amy interpreted as a yes.
Amy was downstairs and Sirius came after her. Harry, Mum, Dad and the Weasley's would join her after she was done with her business at Gringotts.
She would get a new wand but she still missed her old wand and that hum of the Founders magic in it.
"Let's floo to the Leaky Cauldron and then we can go straight to Gringotts Pup." She nodded.
"Leaky Cauldron!" The green flames surrounded her and Amy found herself in the Leaky Cauldron. All the training paid off, and she stood straight and brushed off the soot, making way for Sirius. He stepped out handsomely and they walked to Gringotts.
The alley was full of the Students and their families shopping last minute. Kuro would love to come with her today, but Gringotts didn't allow pets. Amy stepped in behind Sirius and took the lead.
"I wish to access the vaults of Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Vault 310." She said in Goblin tongue.
The goblin bowed and nodded. "Please follow me, I will take you to get a blood test for the Vault of Ravenclaw, but I just have to see proof for the Vault of Hufflepuff."
Amy showed the dagger and the goblin gave a scary smile and nodded. She gave Sirius a thumbs-up and he relaxed, but his eyes followed her and Goblin down the hall.
The Goblin, Karkus lead her down a black hall into a marble room where an old looking Goblin smiled at her. She shivered.
"I hear you are the one, I don't know how you did it, but we were waiting for you. Use your dagger and let one drop fall on the parchment and it shall reveal." Amy followed his instructions and took the dagger and poked her finger, a drop fell and lines grew.
Lady Ravenclaw
Lady Hufflepuff
Heir Black
Conqueror Slytherin
Daughter of Potter
Daughter of Gryffindor
Amy had no clue what Conqueror of Slytherin was, but she assumed it came with the Parseltongue.
"I would like to appoint a Goblin Manager to the houses of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Furthermore, I would like to assume ladyship of the houses. I shall take the heir's ring with my Godfather later. The Goblin Manager will get paid from my own vault.," She declared.
She decided to ask. "What does Conqueror of Slytherin mean?"
"A Conqueror is a Witch or Wizard who has defeated the lord of the house. You have defeated Lord Slytherin and as a consequence the House of Slytherin has surrendered its Magical contents to you. When you assume the Ladyship of House Slytherin, the Current lord Tom Marvolo Riddle- Slytherin will lose the name of Slytherin.
Tom Marvolo Riddle sounded unfamiliar, so Amy assumed that Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw had defeated him in the Past. Ironic that Slytherin's heir was defeated by a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, Salazar would be furious. She smiled and thanked the Goblin for the information.
So she was the Heir of all the Founders after all. Karkus came back with three boxes, a Rowan box, a Holly box and a Yew box. She opened the Rowan box to find a beautiful sapphire encrusted bronze ring, she put it on and it shrunk to her size and fit snuggly.
Next, she opened the Holly box and pulled out an amber ring with the same hum of the dagger. It was a beautiful ring and Amy put it on the same finger for it to merge with the Ravenclaw ring.
Lastly, she opened the Yew box and found an emerald ring and slipped it on and it merged with the other two. She thought Hufflepuff and the ring showed up. She nodded, satisfied, and willed for the ring to disappear, and it did.
Amy went upstairs after Karkus and found Sirius waiting for her.
He looked irritated, his handsome features twisted in a very fake smile. He was talking to an old looking Goblin and he looked close to exploding. Amy ran to him with a smile, and he immediately hugged her and checked her for injuries.
She gave him a reassuring smile and he relaxed visibly. "Is something wrong, Sirius? You look pretty irritated."
"This Goblin won't let me get the Heir's ring, saying that you'd have to be here for me to even ask for the ring. I wasn't sure how long it might take for you to finish the rituals, so I've been trying to get him to obey."
Amy nodded and took over. "Greetings Goblin Teller I am Amethyst Lily Potter-Black, Lady Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. My godfather wishes to name me his heir, and we have already completed the heirship ritual. If you helped me with the ring, we would be most grateful."
The goblin looked at Sirius and back at her, he then whispered to a much younger looking Goblin in Goblin tongue too quiet for Amy to make out the words. The young Goblin disappeared and came back with a Walnut wood box.
Sirius took the box and thanked the Goblin with a nod of his head and the Goblin did the same.
"So, Amy would you like me to come with you to your vault or would you like to go by yourself?"
"I think you should come with me Sirius."
A goblin by the name of Bloodfang lead them to the carts. After a very exciting ride Amy and Sirius found themselves in front of Vault 310. The Goblin asked for the key which Amy provided. The vault was open.
The vault was not Standard vault, it was relatively large but still not as big as the Family Vaults. The coins were piled high but what caught Amy's attention was the amount of books in the Vault. The tomes looked Ancient but well-kept. There were little trunks, most likely filled with Jewelry and papers of the Assets from Euphemia Potter. Amy was Overwhelmed to say the least.
She was rich. That combined with the Black, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw vaults would probably make her the richest Witch in Britain. It was overwhelming. She was surprised by just this and it was likely she would faint by the time she saw the Founders' vaults combined with hers.
"Sirius, is this for real?"
"I think so Pup," He said mimicking her expression. He held Amy's hand and they were about to step in, when Sirius felt a jolt of Magic push him back. Amy looked back in Panic.
The Goblin answered the unspoken question, "This vault seems Magicked to only let Amethyst Lily Potter enter and withdraw money and valuables. I suggest that Lord Black would stay back So Madame Potter could proceed."
Amy frowned wondering why her Grandmother would do that but she stepped inside the vault casting a sorry glance at Sirius who gave her an encouraging smile.
The Vault door closed after her to give her Privacy.
She flipped through the books and many were in Latin, which she knew how to read. She decided to have the books transferred to her study in her Quarters.
The jewels would stay here, but Amy wouldn't sell them in case she needed them. They were beautiful goblin-made jewelry that could be sold properly for a fortune at the time of need. Amy fell in love with a beautiful pearl set that had a pendant, earrings and a bracelet so, she decided to keep it at the Manor.
There were many interesting things that Amy found very useful. She found a trunk with an undetectable extension charm and a feather-light charm. With a little repairing Amy would use it as a school trunk. She'd be able to bring her own library to Hogwarts and have some privacy in the dorms. The trunk had enough room for her own library, impromptu potions lab, kitchenette, office and a washroom.
There were exclusive potion ingredients and antivenom. Bezoars, Mandrake essence, boom slang skin, Asphodel ash, Basilisk hide and crushed fang and what looked like Phoenix tears! Amy could be seen grinning like an idiot.
Other things were heirlooms from Euphemia's Maiden house, Meyers. They would stay in the vault with the other things.
There was still a small copper trunk on the shelf, one that looked ordinary but captivating. She opened it expecting to find Jewelry, but she found an old journal with her name on it. It made no sense because her Grandmother died right when Amy was born. Magical Children don't have gender reveals, so, how could her grandmother know her name and fill her journal without ever meeting her? She took the Journal with her and put it in the trunk with all the other things.
She stepped out of the vault, which locked after her and hugged Sirius mindlessly. Her mind was racing, thinking of theories. Maybe it was her Grandmother's journal which was Magicked to change for the heir? But that would be Harry or Dad, not her. She sighed.
"How was the vault," Sirius asked, bringing her out of her thoughts.
"Honestly, it was awesome and I found some really cool things which I've put in this trunk. There was alot of stuff but I found the books and he trunk to be the best of it."
Sirius nodded. "Once we are out of Gringotts I'll ask Lucien to take the trunk to the Manor. Now, we need to get your school stuff with the Weasleys, Harry and your Parents are probably waiting at Fortescues."
"Amy!" Ginny came running to her and hugging her fiercely. "I tried writing to Dumbledore, but he said I have to be eleven to go to Hogwarts. I'm going to be so lonely, like it's so unfair to both of us. We have to be separated for ONE YEAR! I'll be alone and you will be stuck with Harry and Ron!"
"Calm down Ginny! I'll be fine, and I will come for Christmas and Easter. Harry is not that bad but Ron, he's just a jerk-"
"The jerk is standing right here, book nerd," Ron interrupted from behind her, making her flinch. "Oh, make that book nerd and scaredy-cat."
Amy slapped him hard on his arm. "Owie mommy take me to 's!" Ron whined sarcastically.
"Ughh I hate you jerk face."
He smirked and Lily decided it was enough before they started in a public place. "Ok, all the children will be paired with adults, Diagon Alley is very busy with the last-minute shopping. Amy, Harry and Ron will go with James and I. Fred, Percy, Ginny and George will go with Molly and Arthur. We will meet at the Leaky Cauldron at 4pm for lunch. Sirius you can leave now we will bring Amy back for dinner"
Amy pouted, but it was logical that she went with Ron because they were both going to need the same things.
"Mum, I already have my trunk, parchment, quills, ink and the subject books but we can still go to Flourish and Blotts for some new books?" Amy asked on the way to Ollivander's.
"Of course Amy, we still have to go for Harry's books so you can pick out a few books for yourself. We will get your wands first, then we go to the Apothecary, Flourish and Blotts and lastly, Madame Malkins." Lily recited, counting it off on her fingers.
"Can I go first, Mum?" Harry asked as soon as they made their way into the small, cluttered shop. "Of course Harry," Her mum replied, looking at both Amy and Ron for approval. They nodded, so Harry went first.
Ollivander came out from somewhere and began his history lesson, "I have expected you , it seems like only yesterday that your parents…"
He measured Harry's wrist and started pulling random boxes off the shelf. Alot of "Not that one." and "Try this one" later Ollivander came with another box.
"Try this one, it is a peculiar combination of Ash and Phoenix feather core, 11 1/4 inches, nice and supple." Ollivander said creepily.
Harry held the wand and bright red and blue sparks shot out. It gave a final hum of magic before settling down.
"I remember every wand I've sold and it just so happens that the Phoenix that gave this feather was a familiar of your ancestor Godric Gryffindor." Harry beamed and Lily and James looked at the wand respectfully, Ron looked at the wand like it was treasure and Amy, well she just smiled in the memory of Rowan whom Godric spoke of fondly.
"Good job bud, Ron, you can go next."
"It's ok , I already have my wand or Charlie's old wand," Ron said, his cheeks flushing crimson.
"Nonsense Ron, consider this an early Christmas present," James replied in a that's-the-end-of - the-conversation-tone.
Ron's wand was chosen pretty quickly, a Willow wand with a Unicorn hair core. It was Amy's turn. She was nervous that her magic might not co-operate with another wand, but she stepped forward.
Many boxes passed, the pile grew bigger, James transfigured a chair for everyone but, no wand would work. Amy was getting anxious and Lily gave her silent support with a hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, Amy, there is always a wand for everyone and it's a sign of great magic." James tried to reassure. Amy smiled weakly.
" , I want you to try this wand." It was an ancient looking wand and Amy picked it up. A shower of gold and silver sparks fell out of the wand. The warmth was like her old wand, but this wand felt more comfortable. It felt like a part of her.
Ollivander looked into her eyes with his piercing silver gaze, and she flinched. She didn't even notice the Privacy bubble that Ollivander had conjured.
"This wand is not my own, but I remember every wand, , this wand is the wand of Avril Ainsworth she had a strange affinity with animals, but she went so deep in the world of Magical creatures that she went insane. She committed suicide to live in the spirit world and be free with other careful, history repeats itself."
She also had a strange affinity with Magical Creatures. What did this mean for her? Amy was lost in her thoughts until James took her arm firmly.
"Amy what happened? Why did Ollivander conjure a privacy bubble? Are you ok?" He asked quickly.
"I'm ok, its just Ollivander was under a privacy oath because my wand is a used one," She lied smoothly, looking at Ollivander who nodded at her with a creepy smile ignoring Lily's shouting.
"Let's go, children," James said, casting a suspicious glance at Ollivander who ignored him.
They ushered out of the dingy little shop and into the Apothecary where Lily made Potion's kits for the three children and they paid. Amy was still lost in her thoughts, ignoring Ron and Harry's comments on how gross Potions were.
Flourish and Blotts was successful and Amy found alot of interesting books on Astronomy and Herbology, though the CoMC creatures and Potions section only had books she already owned. She bought a whopping 96 new books, her trunk already seemed very useful.
Her mood was improved with all the books she got and she bounced to Madame Malkins half-dragging Harry and Ron who acted like they were completely exhausted. Harry caused quite the stir at Madame Malkin's, where people actually had the time to look up from their shopping.
An act of convenience though blatantly unfair, Harry and with him Ron and Amy were allowed to skip the waiting. James got Ron new robes too as an Easter gift.
Amy had hers fitted to be easier to move in, the design of the girls school robe prevented easy movement for them and overall it was impractical. She changed hers to be a little tighter around the sleeves for easy brewing. She also had it charmed waterproof, Potion-proof and tailored to fit her if she ever did mature that it wouldn't look to odd.
When she was done, Harry being the Generous hero he was decided that he would sign autographs and so Amy decided to look around. She saw a familiar patch of blonde hair tucked away in a corner.
She approached him, "Hi, I'm Amy, remember?" He flinched away and she frowned.
"Hello, I do remember heir Black, from the funeral," he responded, looking around.
"It's ok, you don't have to be formal Draco, I may not be a proper Black but you can still count on me if you need something," she responded rather awkwardly.
He gave a weak smile and finally looked into her eyes, and she saw a flash of hope in the silver, but he quickly looked down.
"So, uh, what house do you think you'll be in at Hogwarts?" He asked, surprising Amy.
She smiled, so her meddling was having some progress."I don't really know but, everyone thinks I might be a Ravenclaw, I think I might be a Hufflepuff, but my whole family has been in Gryffindor and so it's confusing. What about you?"
"I think I'll be a Hufflepuff but I want to be in Slytherin."
Ron saw who Amy was talking to and decided to come and give some unwanted advice. "Amy is that a Malfoy?"
"Yes, Ron," she said, giving him a warning glance to not say anything stupid, but he decided to do just that.
"Well then what are you doing with a pureblood bigot? Oh, wait, I guess Junior death-"
"Ron Shut Up! That's it-"
"No, Amy, you shouldn't be alone with these type of people, they are dangerous." He took her arm tightly and lead her to the other side of the store. Amy got his very tight grip off of her and glared at him.
"Ron, why do you always have to be such a jerk. Draco is a nice guy, I went to his house for his Mum's funeral! He is shy and stopping judging people by their family lines. Sirius is a black! You honestly disgust me!"
She stomped away, but Draco was gone.
A/N: VERY long chapter, but it was necessary. Next we see more of Draco and the Hogwarts train. There are so many things I still need to introduce to the plot, but you guys have been waiting for Hogwarts for too long.
Thank you for reading!
