Day 31

Guard duty is boring. I probably hadn't even passed my first hour when I saw a tumbleweed drift by. Nyx on the other hand was perfectly content sitting in the shade of a building. Journal, I am not meant for long periods of nothing.

Nonetheless I suffered in silence until the afternoon when Greentitan and the night elf Laryne popped up out of nowhere. I am not a fan of sneaky giants trying to give me a heart attack. Nope. Not at all. The elf even had the audacity to smirk at me! Though to be fair he had awesome green hair and a perfect beard. Beard jealousy...

Anyway after shaking off my shock I waved in greeting. "Hello Greetitan, Druid Laryne. What brings you to my new place?" I started to repeat myself in Common before Laryne interrupted me with laughter.

"Understand most Orcish. Speak less. Am friendly, yes?" The dude had a voice worthy of an audiobook and and I gave him a friendly smile. "Greentitan understands little Common."

"Indeed my knowledge of Common is lacking, but that is not why we are here." Greentitan gently shook his horned head. "I came to thank you. The druids in Moonglade indeed have several spells like you asked. Unfortunately we are unable to share the spells though we may practice them."

"Ok but why are you thanking me?" My own rough beard greeted my finger as I scratched my chin. "I haven't done anything."

"Laryne and I are going to experiment with the spells ourselves. This is the most peaceful fun we will have had in years." The tauren chuckled and waved a hand in the air. "We cannot agree on where to start however."

"Uh, do you want a list? And maybe some seeds and saplings, before I forget." What, of course I'm gonna empty those. Bye bye seedlings.

"Yes," Laryne answered with a nod.

I produced the seeds and saplings from my bag and they were promptly shoved into one Laryne carried. "Well for starters unless you want to purify harpy taint you can't use the Northwest Barrens. Might be some demon taint up there too, the air looks foul when the heat rises. The goblins are being little shits in the Northeast, the centaur control a huge area, and the bugs, Quilboar, and dwarves are to the South."

"That removes a large amount of land, do you have any more suggestions?" Greentitan seemed amused at the time so I mentally shrugged.

"Mulgore? Stonetalon, especially if you remove the goblins and spiders. Thorn Hill has seen the quilboar removed so that area might work." I laughed before giving my last idea. "Getting the Warsong to allow the druids to grow their lumber? I don't suggest letting dryads help with that."

Once the druids departed I swiftly went back to boredom but now I had visions of the Warsong clan attempting to harvest lumber and the forest coming alive. That kept my brain busy for the rest of my shift. Once free I called Nyx and headed for the blacksmith.

I made a fair sum of money off the normal weapons but my fellow orc Tatternack Steelforge wouldn't touch the magical stuff. Said it wouldn't be a fair trade to either of us. I guess that's an excuse to pop over to Thunder Bluff ones of these days. Kinda worried about being that far up around people that can send me flying however. Might just head to Orgrimmar instead.

I couldn't afford to upgrade my armor yet and the rest of the town didn't have a lot to buy so I took Nyx on a walk after that. She had seemed to be a bit tired from the travel yesterday but was happy to be on the move with me. I let her get all the scents she could handle while I wandered around and watched with amusement when she greeted everyone.

I did spot a couple of youngish tauren adults making eyes at each other from a distance. It was kinda cute so I slipped the lady some coins when the guy wasn't looking and told her to make him something. Bull lady with a gleam in her eye has made it to my nightmares now. I hope all goes well.

My legs ache tonight Journal. It was foolish of me to go for that walk after we arrived and I spent hours on my feet. I'm getting used to it but I'm not happy about that!

AN: As I mentioned last week, the Mon-Wed-Friday schedule will be starting on the Fifth. I had quite a stockpile when I started posting but find myself too busy now that things are opening up to keep to the old schedule, sorry. Bit of story trivia, Greentitan actually was Laryne for most of an expansion. Enjoy the weekend!
