Naruto looked around in confusion not understanding where he was. The last thing he could clearly remember was fighting in the fourth grate shinobi war when Madara Uchiha had been able to finally remove the kyuubi spirit from within him and capture the rest of the tailed beast. after that everything had gone dark, but now he was standing in a place of pure white. It was so bright that it hurt his eyes.

WELL ISN'T THIS INTERESTING I NEVER EXPECTED FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU TO END UP HERE

"What!? who said that come out where I can see you!" Naruto shouted as he started looking around trying to see who had spoken.

FASCINATING, DEAD YET YOU FOUND YOUR WAY TO MY GATES NORMALLY I GET FOOLISH HUMANS WHO ARE TRYING TO PLAY GOD

quickly whipping around Naruto came face to face with a strange figure, it looked very similar to a small child the only difference being it was pure white as if it was living light it's body was strangely outlined in gray and it's face was only made up of a ear to ear toothy grin. no nose no eyes just a unnatural large smile and as if the sudden appearance of a strange light child wasn't enough there was now a massive stone gate behind it. taking a closer look at it Naruto saw the gate was carved with an intricate looking fox design and strange writing he couldn't understand.

"Dead!? what the hell are you talking about who are you? what is this place?"Naruto shouted angrily as his temper started to rise and the light thing kept on smiling at him instead of answering his questions.

I AM THE TRUTH, YOU ARE AT THE GATES OF KNOWLEDGE THE ENTRANCE OF GOD'S DOMAIN BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY YOU NARUTO UZUMAKI NAMIZAKE, CHILD OF PROPHECY ARE DEAD

this instantly grabbed Naruto's attention because not many knew his true parentage, let alone the prophecy of the one who would be peace to the world.

"How do you know who I am? No, I. . . I can't be dead, Kakashi-sensei, Sakura-chan. . . everyone is counting on me." Naruto was trying to think, to remember what had happened to him. could all this be a trick by Madara was he trapped in a Genjutsu.

IN THIS PLACE I KNOW ALL I SEE ALL I SEE ALL YOU HAVE DONE AND LIVED THROUGH ALL THE KNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE ACQUIRED IN YOUR LIFE AND WHAT YOU'VE USED THAT KNOWLEDGE FOR

"Kurama! . .Kurama can you hear me!" Naruto called out as he tried to concentrate on communicating with the tailed beast.

THE FOX IS GONE NARUTO UZUMAKI NAMIKAZE NOW WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH YOU

"The Truth was right." Naruto thought as he started to remember more clearly what had happened to him and why he couldn't speak with Kurama. "Wait, what do you mean what are you going to do with me?" Naruto said realizing what the truth had said and looking over at the truth if his growing smile was any indicator Naruto was starting to get a bad feeling.

THIS IS NOT A PLACE WHERE ONE IS MEANT TO LINGER YOU HAVE LIVED AND NOW HAVE DIED IN THAT YOU HAVE EARNED THE TRUTH

"what truth, what are you talking about." Naruto said in frustration not understanding what it meant by truth.

KNOWLEDGE THAT IS THE ULTIMATE TRUTH TELL ME WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO EXCHANGE SO THAT YOU MAY LIVE AGAIN

"Wait you can so that!?" Naruto was shocked silent. he couldn't believe it first you have woken up in this strange place dead, and now you could go back.

"EVERYTHING, ANYTHING YOU WANT JUST SEND ME BACK I CAN'T DIE YET THERE'S TOO MUCH I STILL NEED TO DO TOO MANY PEOPLE COUNTING ON ME!" Naruto shouted desperate to go back to help his friends fight in the war against Madara.

just as the truth finished speaking a low rumble sounded off behind Naruto looking over his shoulder he was shocked to see a identical gate like the one behind the truth was now standing as it started to open Naruto thought that this gate would be his way back home what he hadn't expected when the gate was fully open was for a massive gray colored eye to appear within the blackness.

A LIFE FOR A LIFE

"hey what the hell is this.?" Narutos said as he took a tentative step backwards not sure of what was happening. suddenly dozens of small thin black hands shot out from the gate and started grabbing onto him. it was like Shikamaru's shadow Jutsu.

IT IS THE LAW OF EQUIVALENT EXCHANGE TO GIVE YOUR SOUL A NEW BODY YOU MUST GIVE UP SOMETHING FOR IT

"stop damn it!" there was so many of them that it was difficult for him to struggle as they started pulling him into the gate."Stop!" Naruto was now in a full panic as he saw that the shadow hand s were beginning to rip him apart as if he was some kind of puzzle.

the last thing Naruto saw as the gate was starting to close on him was the image of the truth laughing maniacally at his pain as he was being ripped apart. being pulled through the infinite darkness as he was agonizingly being ripped apart there was a sudden flash of bright light and all around him Naruto saw thousands upon thousands of images. seamlessly flowing together it was a history of the world a history of a world he did not know. knowledge, he was being given pure knowledge

"stop! there's too much you bastard. STOP!" Naruto cried out in pain till everything went black once more. for a moment their was no pain, no sound, no light. he was just there in the darkness waiting then suddenly he was violently being pulled forward towards light and sound.

Resembool, Amestris. 1893

the small countryside town of Resembool in the country of a Amestris was a peaceful and quiet place. kind of place where one could settle down and raise a family without the hustle and bustle of the larger cities. however on this night the town of Resembool was anything but peaceful and quiet. a violent storm the worst anyone in the town had ever seen or that they could even remember had descended upon them in the dead of night. howling winds, thunder so loud it shook the homes, and rain so heavy one could barely see outside their windows. however in one home the horrible weather was the least of the occupants concern. the young newlyweds Yuriy and Haruhi Rockbell we're expecting the birth of their first child. recently married Yuriy and Haruhi we're both 20 when they had married. Yuriy a native Amestrian post office blonde haired and blue eyes, Haruhi also Amestrian was no exception shorter than her husband she too was blonde haired and blue eyed.

"Your doing great darling." Yuriy said to try to comfort his wife after she had let out another loud cry of pain. they had both been sleeping peacefully during the night strange storm suddenly hit it was at that time that Haruhi started having her contractions.

"Her contractions are much closer it's time" Pinako Rockbell told her son has she prepared to deliver her first grandchild into the world. Yuriy was still studying to be a doctor the delivery of the baby fell to the eldest member of the Rockbell family. " Haruhi I need you to push." Pinako told her daughter-in-law.

"AHH! NAHH!" Haruhi cried out and she braced herself and started to push with all her might.

"that's it, I can see the head it's crowning another push." Pinako said

"you can do it sweetie just one more big push." Yuriy encouraged his wife as he squeezed her hand.

"AAAHHHHHH!" with one last monumental effort Haruhi pushed all her strength. when she felt a new life leave her she collapsed onto the bed exhausted.

"you did it Haruhi, I'm so proud of you." Yuriy told his wife as he leaned over and kissed her on the lips.

"congratulations you two it's a boy." Pinako said showing them the baby she had already bundled up. her own tears of joy freely running down her face. taking his son from his mother's arms Yuriy saw a small patch of blonde hair a top the little boys head.

"hello my son I'm your daddy." Yuriy said his own tears of joy be getting to cloud his vision "there's someone I would like you to meet this is your mommy."and carefully moving closer to the bed he placed the baby into Haruhi's open arms.

"hi my sweet little Naruto." Haruhi said smiling in exhaustion as she looked at her son. at this moment the Rockbell family was blissfully unaware of anything else happening around them not even the raging storm outside could affect theor joyous mood.

"Haruhi! what's wrong?" Yuriy cried out in panic as his wife suddenly started to violently convulse in the bed. luckily he had been quick enough to grab baby Naruto from her hands before the baby could have been injured.

"mother what is happening to her." Yuriy asked not knowing what to do. quickly Pinako move to the other side of the bed and started to inspect the girl trying to see what was wrong. it had been a perfectly normal delivery so why was her daughter-in-law suddenly seizuring. just them the window of the room had been blown open by the storm outside. a great roaring wind rushed into the room bringing along with it the rain. his class flew everywhere Panako through herself on top of Haruhi to shield her from harm. Yuriy unfortunately so focused on his wife did not react fast enough as shards of glass cut into him and baby Naruto.

"Naruto!" Yuriy called out in a panic at the sight of his his sons bleeding face, but the baby did not cry at all he just stayed fast asleep. suddenly the wind stopped, it seemed that the storm had finally passed

"Haruhi. . . oh Yuriy I'm so sorry son." Pinako said as the tears of joy she once had only minutes ago where now those of sorrow.

"What. . . No" Yuriy said quietly as he started to cry. "Haruhi, please god no." he wasn't able to comprehend what happened. just then baby Naruto had finally started to cry.

Resembool, Amestris. 1897

"Naruto I'd like you to meet someone very special." Yuriy said has he introduced his son to the woman he had not only fallen in love with but who had rescued him from a dark place he had been in ever since the night Naruto was born. although only 4 years old in body Naruto was anything but that in mind." This is Sarah."

"Hello." Naruto said politely as he smiled up at the woman. she was taller then him, obviously, but shorter this father. she was very beautiful an had blue eyes and blonde hair that she pulled up to a bun. she had on a blue sundress." Your pretty." he told her honestly.

"Oh, Yuriy he is adorable." Sarah said as she looked down at the little boy. he was dressed in tan shirts and a blue shirt, short blonde hair and had blue eyes like two sapphires. it was the whiskers like marks on his little round cheeks she thought made him look like a kitten. "Hello Naruto, it's very nice to meet you."

After that day Sarah had come to live with them and Naruto couldn't be happier for his father. Yes Naruto considered Yuriy Rockbell his father just as he did Minato Namikaze. after all he was born in to this world Naruto Rockbell, even though he still had the memories of his past life Naruto tried not think about it too much. wishing he was back in the elemental nations was an insult to his birth mother Haruhi Rockbell who had unknowingly given her life from him. that had been the price the truth had spoken of. so he accepted his new life, his new home, and his new family.

he was never a fussy baby growing up nor did he act like children his age would throw temper tantrums. something that Pinako and Yuriy had been quick to pick up on. he ate his vegetables, went to sleep when he was told to. to everyone in the town of Resemboll, Naruto Rockbell was the perfect little boy. in reality Naruto just wanted to grow up as quickly as possible. he had been a child once and even though now he was no longer growing up alone and had the love of his father, grandmother, and now Sarah. being able to reach things was nice too.

Resembool, Amestris. 1899

"Hello Mr. Hohenhiem, Hello Miss. Elric." Naruto greeted the two adults politely as he answered the door to his home. Von Hohenhiem was a fairly tall, broad-shouldered man. He wears his long, golden-blond hair that in a ponytail with two or three loose strands of hair falling over his brow. he had a full beard on his square jaw, and glasses over his gold eyes. like always the man was dressed in a white button-up shirt and tan suit with a black vest. Trisha Elricwas was a beautiful young woman with shoulder-length, chestnut brown hair that was tied into a side ponytail. She had green eyes. and had on a lavender dress that show her large stomach.

"hello Naruto, happy birthday." Trisha greeted as the now 6-year-old blonde stepped aside to let them into the house.

"greetings young man" was the simple response from Hohenhiem. has Naruto showed them to the dining room they were met by his mother and grandmother who were finishing setting up the table.

"Good, you two made it all right." Pinako said as she greeted her old drinking buddy.

"Hello Trisha, Von." said Sarah as she maneuvered around the table careful to avoid anything hitting her large swollen stomach. "please sit down, Yuriy should be home from his shift at the clinic any minute now."

"So Naruto, are you excited for your brother or sister to be born." Trisha. asked the little blonde after she had took in a seat at the table.

"Yeah I'm going to be the best big brother believe it! " Naruto chirped happily as he flashed the big smile at the adults."that's why I can't wait for father to come home he said now that I'm old enough I can start my studies."

"oh my, 6 years old and already thinking about becoming a doctor." Trisha was amazed at what she was hearing.

"The boy is indeed his father's son." Von said with a small smile.

"Not exactly." Sarah interjected with slight frown.

"So your talking about Automail like your grandmother." Von asked thinking that he wished to follow in Pinakos line of work.

"Ha, the boy only has his mind on one thing." Pinako said with a dry laugh.

" I want to become an State Alchemist." Naruto said proudly to the surprise of the two adults. not too long ago he had come to the realization that he he no longer had chakra. it seemed that the people of this world had different ways of fighting. harbor it had been one day in school when he had heard of Alchemy. no longer having chakra or Jutsu learning to harness the power of alchemy was the next best thing for him.

" But why would you want to do that Naruto." Trisha asked the little boy in shock. never thinking the sweet little boy would want to be something so dangerous.

"I want to become and Alchemist to have the power to keep my family safe." Naruto said with determination.

"If that us true then why choose to become a State Alchemist they are called the dogs of the military." Von said

"Because when I'm a State Alchemist I can help keep everyone in Amestris safe." Naruto said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. despite her disapproval of her son's obsession to become a State Alchemist Sarah couldn't help but feel pride swell in her at his word.

"well young man I wish you luck there are not many alchemists in the world with such selfless ambition as yours." Von said has he smiled at the young blonde.

So this is chapter one hope you like my set up. I have been a big fan of FMA: Brotherhood and have been thinking of a cross over for some time. Naruto will be somewhat OC not a lot only because in this world so far he has grown up in a loving home and healthy environment so that of course will affect certain tendencies he had in the anime. also I hope you like the idea of Naruto being a Rockbell, I have seen plenty of fanfics where Naruto is made to be an Elric not that they're bad they're pretty cool and I like them a lot. I just wanted to try something different and hopefully as The story goes on it'll make more and more sense why I had him be a Rockbell.

as always please review with any ideas or suggestions I do have an idea for a pairing but it's always good to hear others and also any suggestions for what Naruto could be an alchemist of and any cool code names you guys might think of.

P.S.LIKE ALL MY OTHER STORIES I'M WORKING ON RIGHT NOW THIS WILL MAINLY BE A TEXT TO TALK PROJECT I'M DOING ON MY PHONE BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS DEAD SO SOME WORDS MIGHT BE A LITTLE OFF I'M ALWAYS TRYING TO PROOFREAD BEFORE I POST AND BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO DO MULTIPLE STORIES AT ONCE AND I'M TRYING TO CRANK THEM OUT AS FAST AS I CAN NOT EVERYTHING WILL BE CAPITALIZED OR PUNCTUATED CORRECTLY BUT I DO HOPE THAT DOESN'T STOP YOU FROM ENJOYING THE STORIES TOO MUCH I KNOW CAN'T BUG ME SOMETIMES.
