Chapter 18
Quick update. Don't know how but I missed spelled Jon name. Unbelievable.
Well this took longer than I thought it would lol. But than it all ways does.
I just have to say can anyone believe I have been doing this story for almost 2 years now. Shit I didn't even think I be working on it for 2 weeks none the less 2 years. So, to all of you that have bared with me in this I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With that said let's get to answering some reviews.
Dzerx I don't really know what will happen to Ice. I mean like you said Lelouch has no need for it so there is really no point and him getting it. Not his style and all that but maybe it will end up in Robbs hands. Who knows?
Colvamoon999 spoiler but ya crazy red lady still alive as far as I know. Lets just say she fuck with magic she didn't understand and death didn't like it. Dany and Lelouch just kind of got pulled along for the ride so to speak.
RyuujinHimari I am having trouble with Margery myself and see is kind of in do to me promising she would be.
Kylnee the last season suck and was a complete waste of my time watching the show just for it to end like that. I don't believe even for a moment that I am the best writer in the world but you could grab any 5 year old and they would most likely give you a better ending than that. I understand why they did it seeing as they ran out of time and material to use but really they could have save a lot of time and money by just doing us a favor and canceling the last season.
Wahyubison I love Robb but he is just not as politically sound as Lelouch. But he is smart so he would get caught flat footed by those who won't side with him or his brother.
bobbya1 right in till I read you review I never even noticed that lol.
Sesshyluhvr don't plan on it.
TehStorm I really can't tell you much on the subject without giving things away but with that said I have had more than a little trouble on what I should do with Ned. I hope I can do it to the satisfaction to my fans that is all I can say.
cleopatra12345 I plan to add something like that next chapter.
Thebestofall great title and will most likely use it. To answer your question no Lelouch can't. To use geass on the Night King would first require he gets close to the Night King which is easier said than done. Plus Lelouch has no way of knowing it would work on a supernatural being like the Night King and wouldn't take the chance of getting to close unless he had no real choice.
duckie288 I plan for Dany to come in to her own. To me every time she succeeded in anything it was mostly luck. I don't like that and what to make it so she can face Lelouch and if not stand on equal ground with him at least be able to say she is close to his level. She has a ways to go but she will get there.
Spike-2416 Euphemia will make as showing this chapter and will soon playing bigger parts in the story.
Zero Stark most likely he was. I really should have added a scene on that. A complete oversite on my part sorry.
BlackArachnid13 thanks for the info on the hot air balloons. I always try to answer all the questions or suggests people leave me.
Command Unit so taking the time to really thank on it I have made up my mind that yes Sansa is lesbian in this story. Who she ends up with I am still no sure but safe to say she most likely wont be staying in Westeros.
On another note in this chapter Arya makes a small showing and would call in to question her sexuality. To cut off any bitching Arya is straight, and her paring is her and Gendry. It was the only thing I did like about the last season, so I am keeping it.
Now on with the story.

-Qarth 299AC-
Making her way back to the palace Daenerys in an even worse mood then she was before she had met Lord Lelouch Stark. She wanted to call him an arrogant condescending ass but couldn't seeing as she knew he was right. As it stood, she didn't have the power to challenge him in any way, shape or form. She saw that now but that didn't mean she couldn't gain power, and she would use Ezio Auditore to gain it like Lord Lelouch suggested. The only question was who would really be using who.
Walking into the courtyard Daenerys is greeted with an unexpected if not welcomed site. There standing in the middle of the courtyard is Ezio Auditore wearing a white hooded outfit with his arms crossed and several armed men and women next to him. Some of the men and women she quickly recognizes from the party days ago but most of them she doesn't recognize and quickly comes to the conclusion that they are most likely Ezio's personal guard. But what is really surprising was seeing Xaro half-naked, tied up kneeing with a gag in his mouth with a completely naked Doreah next to him in the same boat.
Upon seeing Daenerys Ezio smiles and says, "Ah Daenerys it is good to see you again. Can I assume your little trip to the House of the Undying went well?"
"Lord Auditore why am I not surprised to see you here?" And really Daenerys wasn't surprised to see him here. Ezio was a spy after all and she now knew Lord Lelouch had his eye on this part of the world so it stood to reason that he would be here. Most likely he knew about Xaro and Pyat Pree's plans and was planning to use it in some way to help his lord gain even more power in the city.
"What can I say I have a habit of coming to the assistance of beautiful ladies." He smirks and then kicks the back of both his captives and say, "Here a gift to you milady. A traitorous cunt and his whore all tied up for you to do with as you please."
Keeping herself from calling out his obvious lie Daenerys just looks down at the two captives and says, "I already knew about Xaro's betrayal, but do you honestly expect me to believe Doreah has betrayed me as well?"
"Why not ask her yourself." Ezio says as he moves and cuts off the gag in Doreah's mouth.
Once the gag is removed Doreah starts to tell Daenerys that she would never betray her after all they had been through together. Her words however sound of desperation and falsehood to Daenerys ears.
So, looking back up at Ezio Daenerys says the words Lelouch had told her to say to Ezio if she wished for his help. "Lord Auditore il Vostro signore vi comanda per aiutare Lady Targaryen fino a che non si dimostra indegno."
Ezio's eyes widen at her broken Italian, the language his lord had made up and had taught his family to speak. His lord had taught them this made up language for the same reason that he had taught his own family a different made up language. So as to keep unwanted ears from hearing things they shouldn't. And as far as he knew his lord only taught these languages to only those he trusted most. So, the question was how did Daenerys know it?
Could she have spies in his family? No that couldn't be it. This girl was not even an amateur when it came to the ways of the darker world of spies and assassins. So, there was no way she could have learned the language that way. That meant someone had taught her how to speak it or at least told her what words to say to him. Ezio was not so high up in his lord's spy ring that he had access to the information about where the other spies were in the world, so it was possible that she had met one in the House of the Undying. It was unlikely but then he really doubted she would have told him to kill her if she proved unworthy.
Well he guessed it really didn't matter in the end, he could just send a letter to his lord asking for confirmation at a later time. For now, his lord's orders had been spoken and he would obey them. So, bowing his head to her Ezio says, "I hear and obey my lords' orders. So, tell me Daenerys how may I be of service to you?"
"You can start by telling me why you are really here Lord Auditore." Daenerys commands of him in an even tone.
Moving his hand under his chin Ezio starts to think about what to say. His orders are to help Daenerys but exactly how much help and information should he give her, he wondered. He guessed he would just have to be the judge of that and pray that he didn't share any information his lord didn't wish her to know. If he did a knife in the back would be waiting for him.
It does not surprise her that Ezio is taking his time to answer her. From what she could tell from what he said before the orders Lord Lelouch had gave him was to serve her but how much help was he going to give her was something she didn't know. The strange words Lord Lelouch told her to tell Ezio were too short to give any great details on what help Ezio was to give her after all so he was most likely thinking on what he could and could not tell her. Daenerys didn't like it but at the same time had a funny feeling that if Ezio told her something or did something that his lord didn't like then Ezio would no doubt be killed.
Moving his hand away from his chin Ezio finally answers her question, "Shortly after you were allowed in the city my spies in had gotten word that Xaro had set up a meeting with Pyat Pree. Not knowing what it was about I had several spies keep an eye on them just in case whatever it was they were meeting about affected my lords overall plan for Slavers Bay. Then a few days ago I got word that they had planned to take your dragons and kill the council of the Thirteen."
"You knew about their betrayal before it happened and didn't say anything?" Jorah asks in an angry tone.
Looking at the exiled knight Ezio says, "Up till five seconds ago we were not allies, Ser Mormont. Don't get me wrong Daenerys I like you. Truly I do but I had no reason to inform you of what they were planning."
Jorah grits his teeth in anger at this man and wish to kill him and be done with it but looking around he can see that would not be a battle they can win. There were men on top of the roof and walls looking down at them with bows in hand. No doubt they would kill them with little thought if he tried anything.
Daenerys is angry as well, but she can also understand the reasoning somewhat. They were indeed not allies till just a moment ago but at the same time Ezio didn't seem the type to let her just walk to her death. She would have to rethink her thoughts on the man before her now. "That is fine Lord Auditore but I expect you to inform me of any more attempts on my life or on those of my children. Now why was it that you let me walk to my death?"
"Of course, milady and to answer your question it was simply to allow my lord to take control Qarth the gate way between the east and west. Whoever controls Qarth controls most of the trade that comes from the lands beyond the Bone Mountains." Ezio says to her.
Daenerys started to understand what Lord Lelouch's plan was now. It was a pretty forward plan after all. By taking over the city and cutting off trade with the east Lord Lelouch clearly hope to put Slavers Bay in a stranglehold when it came to its finances. How crippling their finances worked to his benefit she was not fully sure of, but she could just ask Ezio at a later time what his lords overall plan was.
Looking over at the men by Ezio's side she takes in their appearances and notices they are not dressed like Ezio are his men. That could only mean they were not his men and most likely were Ezio's allies within the city.
"And are these the men that your lord will be using to take control of Qarth?" Daenerys asks.
Well, well she is learning quickly. Ezio thinks to himself honestly surprised that she had figured that out. "Indeed Daenerys. Let me introduce Zhimden zo Keazn, Rokliz zo Haklor and Modnan na Shogi. They are now the richest men in the city with the Thirteen dead and are the ones that will take over the ruling of Qarth after my men get done with purging any left-over rivals."
The way Ezio says purging any rivals makes it clear what he means, and it sends a shiver up both Daenerys and Jorah's back. Both have killed before or in Daenerys case ordered someone to kill another but never had either of them head someone talk about killing people like it was no big deal. There was no feeling in his voice which to them showed that he could and would do anything in the name of his lord.
"And when will this purge be done?" Daenerys asks as she tries not to show any of the discomfort she is currently feeling.
"On the morrow sometime, I would believe. I am not really sure seeing as it depends on how long it takes for those being attack to stop their attackers or die." Ezio says with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Who are the targets?' Daenerys asks.
"Everyone." Ezio says to her.
Looking confused Daenerys repeats what Ezio says, "Everyone?"
"Yes everyone. The Pureborn, the Tourmaline Brotherhood and the Ancient Guild of Spicers. Anyone and everyone who could hope to stand in the way of these three taking power in the city are being killed off or at least being weaken enough to not pose any challenge to it." Ezio says to her.
"You fool your toss the whole city into chaos." Jorah yells at him.
Looking at the knight Ezio just smiles. "That is the plan Ser Jorah. You see even if only one fourth of the people targeted die tonight that will still be enough for these three to take power after the initial chaos dies down."
"And do you honestly think the people will just let you take over after you have murdered all of their rulers?" Jorah asks the man, now thinking him a fool.
"Of course, after all it was not me or my three friends here who killed them." Ezio says with a smile.
A look of absolute confusion makes its way to Jorah's face. He does not understand what this man means. Of course, he is the one who has committed all these murders. He may not have been the one holding the blade, but he is clearly the one who gave the order. But while Jorah is confused, Daenerys comes to a realization.
"You plan to use Xaro and Pyat Pree as scape goats." Daenerys says in both wonder and fear.
"That is right Daenerys. They were already planning to do this anyway and had people in place before hand, so it makes it easy to put the blame on them. So once again, Daenerys I am sorry, but I can't let you kill him just yet seeing as I need one of the two men alive to play the role but if you like your more than welcome to kill his whore." Ezio says to her.
Daenerys is disappointed that she won't be able to kill the Xaro herself, but she guessed this was just as good. Xaro planned to use her to become King of Qarth but now he was being used by someone else to gain power. An oddly fitting end if you asked her but still, she would not leave empty handed.
"That is fine Lord Ezio but if I can't have his life then I am at least intitled to his wealth." She says to Ezio.
Ezio rubs the back of his neck and says, "Sorry Daenerys I can't give that to you either."
"And why not?" She asks angrily.
"Well to be frank Xaro has none for me to give." Ezio says to her.
"What?" Daenerys asks in a confused voice.
"Follow me." Ezio says as he starts to walk towards Xaro's safe.
It is a short walk and when they get their Ezio takes out the key Xaro always had on his person and opens the vault door. When the vault open Daenerys's feels her rage come back with a vengeance. Its empty, its fucking empty. She thinks to herself as she looks down at the traitors.
"As you can see Daenerys Xaro was not as wealthy as we both thought he was." Ezio says to her.
In her anger Daenerys looks at her ex-handmaiden. Knowing she can't kill Xaro she orders Ezio, "Toss her in the vault and close the doors."
Vindictive little thing isn't she. Ezio says to himself then nods his head to his men who grab Doreah and tosses her in the vault as she begs for her life then closes it without a second thought
When the door closes Daenerys says to Ezio, "I will need a ship and men to man it."
"Of course, but how about instead of a ship I give you a city." Ezio says with a smile.
-Winterfell –
Riding through the gates of Winterfell Sansa had a relieved look on her face. It was good to be home once more even if she was returning back in failure. The plan to get close to the queen so as to find out about any hidden agendas she may have and assassinate her if they proved to not be of any benefit to House Stark had gone up in flames. A true disappointment to both her and no doubt her brother Lelouch. On the bright side at least, Arya was showing her a bit more respect than before they had set out. Her little shewolf of a sister only ever showed the proper respect towards her during her sword lessons and even then, it wasn't much. Now however Arya was actually talking with her without giving her lip.
"I am telling you it's not like that. Mycah and I are just friends." Arya says in the Japanese language her brother had taught her and her siblings.
"Just a friend? Come now sister one does not normally risk the anger of a king and queen just for a friend. Why don't you just admit you like him. It's no big deal." Sansa says in the same language with a teasing smile.
"And I am telling you I only like him as a friend. Besides he is not my type." Arya says to her sister with a huff.
"Then is Wylla more along your type?" Sansa says with a knowing smile.
Arya's face goes blood red at her sister's words. "Wh-what? No, no!"
The smile on Sansa's face grows even bigger and she goes for the kill shot. "Oh, so it was not you two I saw kissing under the training yard staircase a moon ago. I am sorry for my mistake little sister."
It was impressive to Sansa how much her sister truly looked like a fish out of water. What with her mouth opening and closing like one as she tries to find something to say back.
Making up her mind to show her little sister some pity Sansa says to her. "Calm yourself Arya. Take deep breaths."
Doing as her sister says Arya takes deep breaths and then says, "Please don't tell anyone."
Laughing a bit Sansa says to her sister, "Do not worry little sister I won't tell a soul. After all it would be pretty hypocritical of me to tell someone about you kissing Wylla when I have done the same thing with other girls."
Arya's eyes widen once again and she quickly asks, "You have? With who? Was it Shirley?"
Chuckling at her little sister's rapid questions Sansa answers in good humor, "Yes dear sister I have kissed another woman. No, it was not Shirley and its none of your business who I have kissed."
Pouting Arya does not say another word to her sister for a bit before she asks in a hesitant voice, "Did… did you like it?"
Looking at her red face sister Sansa says in a serious voice, "Yes sister I did. In fact, I loved it, but I think the real question is did you like kissing Wylla?"
Sansa knew she still had a lot to learn about what her brother called the human psyche, but she could read people pretty well. So, she knew Arya had asked her that question do to feeling confused on how she felt about kissing another girl. Do to how noble women were expected to behave they couldn't go around kissing men or having sex with them before marriage, well at least outside of Dorne that is. That made it hard for a young girl like Arya to understand how she felt about men and women and which she preferred. They were feeling Sansa herself had when she was her sisters age and was just thankful, she had Diana around to help her understand and make peace with the fact that she preferred women over men. It would no doubt make it easier for her to accept her marriage to whoever Lelouch or her father picked out for her down the road and keep her from feeling bitter about being stuck in a relationship with a man. Arya however didn't have a Diana in her life and so it was up to Sansa to help her little sister with any feeling she may have about sex.
"I am not sure. It was nice I suppose but when we kissed, I kept thinking about what it would be like to kiss a boy." Arya finally says.
"Hmm then I guess that means that you like boys more than girls' sister." Sansa says to her.
Thinking about that Arya says, "But I do find Wylla very nice to look at sister."
Laughing again Sansa says, "You can find another woman attractive dear sister and not want to fuck her."
"Really?" Arya asks with some skepticism.
"Of course, we are not men after all. Who as we both have been taught can barely think without their cocks." Sansa says making her sister laugh.
"Unless your name is Shirley that is." Arya says making them both laugh even louder. Seeing as they both knew their good-sister rarely thought of anything but sex.
-Elsewhere-
"Achooo", Shirley sneezes.
"Are you well sister?" Asks her sister Obara.
Waving off her sisters concern and Shirley says, "It's nothing. A pretty maiden is most likely thinking about me is all."
Obara rolls her eyes at the joke, "You know sister that joke has gotten really old and between you and father always using it, it has gotten really, really old."
"It's not a joke if it is true sister dear." Shirley says in a sing song voice.
Again, Obara just rolls her eyes. "If it was true all the maidens in the kingdom would want to fuck you and father."
"Don't forget Essos as well sister." Shirley says with a big smile.
"Gods and here I thought that after you married your darling Lulu you'd calm down a bit. Whats wrong your darling Lulu not keeping you satisfied?" Obara asks of her.
"Oh no Lulu is more than satisfying me. Despite how calm he may seem sister dear my Lulu is an absolute beast in bed. I just wish he be more open minded to adding some more company from time to time." Shirley says looking at her sisters' body in the swimsuit she made for her.
Feeling her half-sister's eyes on her body Obara says, "You might as well stop eye fucking me sister. I told you already I have no wish to join you and your darling Lulu in fucking."
Giving a pout Shirley says, "Your no fun."
Obara just smiles at that, she had always loved to stomp on Shirley's little perverted fantasies. It was not like she didn't think her sister was a very beautiful young woman, and up till she saw Lady Euphemia she thought her sister had no equal. But she had no interest in fucking the young woman that in her eyes will still be that little girl that made her play with her all the time when she was little. All she wanted, all she cared about was Shirley's happiness. That was why she was in this cold hell in the first place. To ensure her sister would be happy here.
After spending less than a year here Obara quickly realized she hated the North and its summer snow. It was like living in a frozen hell but despite her dislike of the place she now understood why Robb and Theon were so strong. The weak could not live here for the ice of the North would wrap you in its cold embrace and never let you go. Much like how the burning sands of Dorne would swallow the weak who dared to enter it.
"Oh well it's not like I didn't already know you wouldn't want to fuck my Lulu, seeing as you already have eyes for the Grayjoy." Shirley says with a teasing voice.
"Wh..what. I don't have eyes for the Grayjoy boy." Obara says to her sister.
"Sure, sure sister. I guess that is why you send so many letters to him right? To tell him how much you don't like him and how if it wasn't for how drunk you were, he wouldn't have been able to satisfy you with his small cock." Shirley says in a sing song voice.
Blushing a bit Obara says in a cold dead voice that promises violence, "And how do you know what I put in my letters sister dearest?"
With a puzzled look on her face Shirley says, "Because I read them behind your back of course."
No sooner do the words leave Shirley's mouth then is Obara standing over her sister with a menacing look on her face.
Looking up at her sister who is standing above her Shirley would normally take the time to admire her sister's sexy body if it were not for the fact that she was currently cracking her knuckles.
"Haha, now sister remember I am the future Lady of Winterfell. So, hitting me is a no, no." Shirley says weakly as she looks around for an escape.
Giving a evil smile Obara says, "Normally that would be the case little sister but seeing as your husband has given the women of Winterfell permission to punish you when you step out of bounds I see no reason to spare you my fury. For you see sister despite what some people may think I am indeed a woman."
-Outside the pool-
Screams of pain and desperate cries of help could be heard through the doors as 2 guards stood on both sides facing forward. Both of which made no move to go inside and check on what was going on. They had both seen what happens to those who get in the way of Obara when she is looking to punish her sister for something and were not in any rush to get in her way.
Guard A, "Shou….shouldn't we go in and check on Lady Shirley to make sure she is alright?"
"I am not going in there. Besides I am sure Lady Obara won't hurt her too much." Guard B says as he hears a yell for mercy come through the door.
Guard A, "But isn't it our job to protect Lady Shirley?"
Both flinch as they here a smack and cry of pain.
"I think Lord Stark will forgive us for our cowardness." Guard B says back to the man.
-Back with Sansa-
Taking a deep breath Sansa knocks on the door of her brother's office inside the rename Wolf Tower. She would have preferred to put this meeting off a little longer, but her brother was not someone to keep waiting when it came to reporting in.
"Come in dear sister." Lelouch's voice says from the other side of the door.
Giving a sigh Sansa should have realized that he would know it was her. So, walking in slowly she gives a bow and waits for him to speak to her like she always did when she believed she was in trouble.
Giving a smile to his sister Lelouch can't help but think his sister is still as cute as ever when she thinks she is in trouble. And yet by the way she is holding herself up he can see a new type of strength in his sister. Unlike when she was a little girl and couldn't even look him in the eye when she believed she was in trouble she now stood tall and looked him in the eyes without flinching. He must really thank Diana for helping to bring out this new strength in his sister. For if she hadn't than his sister most likely would have sided with the queen over her own family all because she would have thought it would be what he would have done.
He knew Diana would be able to bring out the wolf in his sister and turn her into a woman that few would dare to fuck with. It was why he let Diana sleep with her in the first place. Don't get him wrong he hated the fact that his sister was having sex at such a young age and didn't approve of the relationship because of how young his sister was. But with his sister going about seducing handmaidens and the servant girls of the castle it was only a matter of time before she got found out. And that was a whole other problem he didn't feel like having to deal with. Still his sister was really unfortunate to be born during a time were relationships such as the one she had with Diana was frowned upon. Perhaps there was something he could do for her, however.
"Welcome home my dear sister. It is good to see you are back home safely." Lelouch says as he stands up from his desk and moves to stand in front of it with his arms wide open for her to hug him.
Seeing the smile and the open arms Sansa now knows her brother is not mad or disappointed in her. Which in a way disappoints her seeing as she felt he was most likely not mad do to the fact that she was his sister. None the less she goes and hugs him fondly.
"It is good to be home Lulu." Sansa says then steps back from the hug and takes a seat in the chair in front of her brother's desk as he moves to sit back down.
Once he sits back down Lelouch says, "So tell me how was your short trip outside the North?"
"About as fun as it was shoveling horseshit out of the stables whenever mother and father let you decide on my punishment." Sansa says in a bitter tone.
"Yes, well none of us could have predicted that Prince Joffrey would act so stupidly." Lelouch says to her. Cersei was not half the politically astute person she seemed to believe herself to be, but she was smart enough to know not to start trouble when there was no gain in it for her. She had shown that during her stay here in Winterfell, but Joffrey was not even that smart. So, he was really not surprised that the boy did something so stupid.
"The little asshole should count himself lucky I didn't kill him right then and there for attacking Arya." Sansa says with her arms crossed and an angry look on her face that shows she is still pissed off about what happened.
"Indeed, I am proud of the fact that you were able to hold back. Sure, the guards I sent with you, Arya and father are the best men the Northern army has to spare and could have most likely protected you against any attack by the king and queen's own guards but it would not be good for us to be the ones to start the war." Lelouch says to her.
Sansa huffs like a child and says, "True but I was also a war I could have ended quickly if I had just taken the queens side."
Unlike her other brothers Sansa had long accepted that a civil war was coming to the Seven Kingdoms. The North was far to ahead of everyone for the status quo to stay in place. Even now with her brother more or less removing himself from coming up with new innovations for the North the Academy was still pushing for newer and better ideas on how to make the North prosper. That was something the other kingdoms would not stand to have for much longer.
Shaking his head Lelouch says to his dear little sister, "Don't feel disappointed sister. You did what you felt was right and I am very proud of you."
"Would you have done the same Lelouch?" Sansa asks him.
"it doesn't matter what I would have done Sansa with your own thoughts and values. So, don't ever do anything you feel is not right just because you think I would do it." Lelouch tell her.
That was in truth the last thing he wanted Sansa to ever do. The thought of her becoming like him was upsetting seeing as the path he walked was a dark and bloody road that had no light at the end of its tunnel. Don't get him wrong he didn't have it in him to feel shame for the things he's done to anyone that wasn't his family anymore. He had made peace with the monster that he was but the last thing he wanted to do was turn his sisters or brothers into something like him. That is why he was happy that what happen had happen. It showed him that his sister was still a good person who valued her family above all else.
Smiling because she was feeling somewhat proud of herself now Sansa says, "Thank you Lulu."
"Your welcome little sister. Now why don't you run along and go greet our mother. I am sure she is upset that you didn't go say hello to her first before coming to see me." Lelouch tells her.
"Alright Lulu. I'll see you at dinner." Sansa says as she gets up and goes over to kiss her brother on the cheek before leaving the room.
One she has the door open she hears Lelouch say one last thing to her, "Oh and sister Diana is still in Winterfell till the end of the week. I am sure she will be happy to see you before she leaves."
And just like that any thought of Lelouch not knowing about her relationship with Diana goes out the window and her face turns blood red as she flees the room.
-A month later The Reach-
Sitting down by a balcony Euphie was sipping at some tea the servants had made for her. On the outside she looked like the perfectly calm and composed noble lady but, on the inside, she was anything but calm. Diana had just returned to the Reach a few days ago with news that was not to her liking. When the news came down that Lord Arryn was stepping down from his position as Hand of the King Euphie knew Lord Stark would be the kings next pick for the position. She also knew that when the king went North, he would no doubt ask for Lord Stark's oldest daughter to be betrothed to the prince.
It was a predictable action on the king's part and when the news was let out of the North that the engagement had happen Euphie couldn't have been happier. After all, with this betrothal the possibility of a war happening between House Stark and Lannister went down. The only thing she had not predicted was that the king would agree to marry Princess Myrcella to the 2nd youngest of the Stark boys. But she paid that no mind seeing as she was too happy at the announcement of the engagement between the crown prince and the oldest Stark girl to think deeper into it. Now she had no reason to fear the Reach being pulled into a war, and her sister wouldn't be able to marry that monster of a prince.
Sadly, that happiness didn't last long for no sooner did the word come down to the Reach about the engagement then did the following news come that the engagement had been called off. There were all types of rumors going around for the reason why it was called off but all of them agreed that it was the king who ended the engagement. Of course, Euphie's grandmother and sister didn't care for the reason for its end for all they saw was an opportunity to put Margaery's name forward as a possible marriage candidate. They were being far too short sited if you asked her seeing as King Robert would not have called off the engagement unless something serious had happen. Euphie knew it was important to find out what had happened and quickly seeing as this could very well affect the kingdom as a whole.
When Diana had arrived a couple of days ago Euphie had gotten her answer to why the engagement was ended and the news, she was given was far worst then she could have imagined. To think Prince Joffrey would be so stupid as to pull a blade against a noble lady of one of the Great Houses was unbelievable. Then to lie about it to the king was just plain disgraceful. If there was any hope of peace before, there was none now. Prince Joffrey had even if he didn't know it guaranteed a war between the Lannisters and the Starks.
Euphie had of course told her grandmother of this and gave the opinion that it would be best to look for a marriage somewhere else. Luckily after her father's little mess up with House Martell her grandmother was more willing to listen to her suggestions. So instead of trying to marry Margaery and Prince Joffrey her grandmother was instead pushing her father towards a marriage with Renly Baratheon. This was in Euphie's mind a good match seeing as Lord Renly was spending most of his time in the Reach anyways with her brother Loras. Her father had of course agreed with the match and had even started to talk with Lord Andre about a marriage between Loras and Diana seeing as many people thought they were fond of each other due to how they openly flirted with each other. Knowing that both Loras and Diana's taste ran along the same line her father thought that if they got married, they could both cover for each other and seeing as neither Diana or Loras would care if they fuck someone of the same sex it would be a happy marriage. It was a very smart move and made Euphie proud of her father but with the Andres moving all their holdings to Braavos those talks had come to a halt sadly.
Even their holdings here in the Reach were going to be sold off sooner or later and moved to some of the other free cities eventually. Diana was still not happy at leaving what she had built in the Reach for her family, but her brother had final say in the matter and it looked like he was not going to be persuaded to keep them. Euphie had also sensed another reason for not wishing to leave but couldn't place her finger on it. She would say it was because Diana was in love with someone but with how many maids, and young noble ladies she was still sleeping with Euphie doubted that.
Whatever the reason her grandmother not wishing to lose Diana as a source of information was trying everything in the book to keep her in the Reach. Going so far as to have her lord father cut the tariff and taxes the Andres had to pay to do business in half. But sadly, it was not working for John Andre had made it clear they were still moving all their holding to the free cities.
This had made her grandmother call Lord Stark and Lord Lelouch fools for the first time in a number of years. Frist, they had let the Auditores leave for Essos and now the Andres, both of whom just happen to be bringing in the most coin out of all the lords of the North save House Manderly. To her grandmother it made no sense to let them leave but Euphie felt something bigger was at play. She had accepted that this Lelouch was the same from her past life and was most likely not a reincarnation like herself. That was not good news seeing as she was sure there was no one as smart or as ruthless as Lelouch was. With that knowledge on hand she knew that letting these two families leave was part of some grand plan that she couldn't see just yet.
If she had time, she was sure she could figure it out but right now she had bigger concerns on her mind. Like Lord Lannister's men crossing the border in to the Riverlands over and over again. Or the fact that Prince Doran Nymeros Martell was rearming his bannermen with wolf steel arms and armor. Their spies may not have been able to get any information out of the North, but the rest of the land was open to them. That is how she knew about the rearmament of Dorne and the fact that more and more men were being moved to the border between Dorne and the Reach.
There were not enough men being moved there that would be of any real concern from a military standpoint but in Euphie's mind it was concerning. But when she had told her father her concern, he had dismissed it as nothing to worry about seeing as he had gotten a letter from Prince Doran months ago stating that bandits had been attacking their trade routes. Her father had of course taken the letter at face value despite the bad blood between their house and House Martell believing that there was no way Prince Doran was planning to attack the Reach do to Dorne supposedly being weaker than them. Her grandmother was more skeptical but didn't believe that Dorne even with their new arms and armor stood a chance against superior numbers. Euphie herself was not so sure about that. She was no warrior and knew very little on the subject passed what she read in books but if Dorne did declare war on the Reach or them on Dorne then there was little doubt the Lelouch would turn his attention to them.
That was something that Euphie wanted to avoid for as long as she could. It was bad enough that Lelouch already had some influence in the Reach do to some of the lords switching to the old gods after Lelouch made his little announcement that he was a follower of the old gods himself. His claim that all his grand ideas came from sitting under a weirwood tree had lords across the land scrambling to get a hold of a weirwood tree themselves in hopes of being given similar ideas.
Now one would think this would have earned him some enemies with the Faith and they would have been right for a time at least. But that lasted only for a short amount of time seeing as that no sooner did Lelouch make his little announcement than did he start building and repairing septs all over the Seven Kingdoms. Whats more he only did this in the smaller outlining villages and towns that didn't have the money or enough money to have them built or repaired. This had won him the love and support of a growing faction inside the Faith called the Sparrows who saw Lelouch as a Gods send. Despite his worship of the old gods the Sparrows were fully behind him and were even spreading a message of religious tolerance and acceptance among the smallfolk. A message that they were not giving before and one that was also slowly gaining support amongst the smallfolk. It was a shrewd move on Lelouch's part. She knew Lelouch was in complete control of the Sparrows and were spreading his message for him. No doubt it was so he wouldn't have any trouble from the Faith.
How did she know he was the one controlling them? Well she had met their so-called High Sparrow some years ago in the slums of the Reach and from what she recalled he was an old man with a very serious disposition. However, the one she had been hearing about now was a man who was more around her father's age who was very charismatic. Now she may not have known the old High Sparrow that well, but she could recall clearly how he had called Lelouch Stark a heretic and an enemy of the Faith. Seeing as this new High Sparrow was sprouting out nothing but praise for Lelouch clearly meant that at some point the old High Sparrow was replace when he no longer fit the mold of the sparrow's message. As for what happened to the old man well Euphie had a pretty good guess at what happen to him.
Still there was even more trouble after that as well. Euphie and her sister had always been big in helping the smallfolk in the slums. There charity work had made them love by the smallfolk of the slums in the Reach so much that they could walk down the streets at night by themselves and not have to worry about anyone trying to do them harm. It was also because of that love that the people were more than willing to talk with them about all matter of things. And that was how she had learned about the organization that was known as Cosa Nostra. Now Euphie didn't know why but the name sounded familiar to her for some reason. It maybe something from her past life but what she did know is that according to the smallfolk this group of men and women controlled all the crime north of the Crownlands.
Her sister and grandmother didn't believe that one bit however and in truth even Euphie herself had trouble believing something like that was possible. But over the last year evidence had come into existence that there was indeed an organization out there that was taking over the crime in the slums. Now crime over all was down in the slums but from what she had been told by the city's watch murder was up by a lot. Feeling the need to investigate this news Euphie had use the love her father had for her to get the information on who was killed and from her investigation a pattern had emerged. The people who were killed were all well-known cutthroats, thieves and brothel owners who had some form of power in the slums. That made it clear that whoever was killing these people were cleaning house so to speak so as to be the only power in the slums.
At first Euphie was going to tell her father about this but then realized that Lord Lelouch was most likely the one behind this organization. The moment she figured that out was also the moment she realized why he was supporting this organization. He was doing it to bring a type of peace to the poor people of the kingdom. She hated violence and though she didn't like the thought of someone coming in and killing all these people, she did have to admit that crime was down due to this group. Before the group came around crime happen everyday and anyone in the slums who didn't have a guard or was name Tyrell was open to being robbed. Now however if you wanted to commit a crime you had to get to go ahead from organization to do so and had to pay them to do it. If you didn't you risk being killed by them and that was a risk few would take.
Giving a sigh Euphie put down her teacup and stood up. Looking over the scenery she thinks "Gods I understand Lelouch is trying to bring about a better world, but does it have to be so bloody?"
-The Wall-
Looking around as he rode into Castle Black Jon couldn't help but wondered what would have happen if he had joined the Night's Watch. Maybe he would have become First Ranger by now or Lord Commander if he had joined up but then it was also likely that he would have been killed by these criminals at some point for being the bastard of a lord who was raised with his father's true children. Well it mattered little he guessed to think about the what ifs of life. The fact was that he was the Governor of Hardhome now and was responsible for its protection. It was also because he was responsible for its protection that he was here to meet with Lord Commander Mormont.
He had heard a rumor that the Lord Commander was attack by a wight just a couple of moons ago. It was a rumor that Jon himself believed especially after his brother had sent him a letter written in Japanese that Ser Gottwald was attack by the others when he was up here investigating the rumors of their return. Now Jon knew his brother was many things one of which was a liar, but he was not one to lie about something that could potentially put his family in danger. Lelouch would lie, tell half-truths and even keep things from them but would never put them directly in harms way. So, with the knowledge that the others were back, and that Lord Commander Mormont was attack by a wight Jon was convinced that a solution about how to deal with the army of wildlings that was camp inside the Haunted Forest needed to be found quickly.
"Lord Stark I welcome you." Says a calm voice from in front of him.
Looking up at the sound of the voice that has greeted him Jon sees a man he has not seen sense his trial and the only man that Jon could truly say he hated with a passion.
"Lord Bolton what a joy it is to see you once more." Jon says in an angry voice as he gets off his horse as the men of Northern Army that had accompanied him do the same.
Hearing the hostility in Jon's voice Roose just smiles and says. "As it is you Lord Stark. Lord Commander Mormont is waiting for you in the Lord Commander's Keep. If you're just follow me?"
Jon does as he is asked and follows the man towards the keep and as he does, he takes better site of his surroundings. The castle if it could be called that was in far better condition than from what he had heard. No doubt due to his lord father sending both money and men to do repairs on place. The men also looked disciplined and better equipped with the light wolf steel armor that the blacksmiths in Winterfell made.
"You have done a good job retraining the men here Lord Bolton. I had heard that the men of the Wall were more of a rabble then a fighting force and am glad to see that is not the case." Jon says to the man.
"Thank you, Lord Stark. It really only required some harsher discipline measures to get the men in line." Roose says as he points to a scaffold were the dead bodies of three men were hanging.
Jon looks at the dead men and nods his head. His brother had often told him that sometimes an iron fist works better than a soft hand and here at the Wall were 4 out of five men are criminals it is the best way of dealing with them.
The rest of the walk is done in silence till they walk into the Lord Commander's Keep and sees the grizzly face of Lord Commander.
"Lord Commander Mormont it is an honor to meet you. I am Jon Stark Governor of Hardhome." Jon says with a respectful bow of his head.
Standing up and looking at the young lad Jeor Mormont's face betrays nothing of what he felt inside but truthfully, he is glad to see the young man. After what had happened not more than a couple of moons ago, he was glad that someone had answered the letters he sent out about the others rising again. Even if it was only a young man who was in charge of some 5000 men.
"Well met Lord Stark and welcome to Castle Black. I am glad that you responded to my message. Though I did not think you would come yourself." Jeor says with a smile and bows to Jon in turn.
"Considering what you said in your letter I felt that it was necessary for me to come myself to meet you. Were you truly attack by a wight?" Jon asks with no hint of not believing him like Jeor thought he would.
Seeing this gives Jeor a small measure of comfort. Despite being young this young man is still the brother of the Black Wolf of the North and acting lord of Winterfell. A man who had risen the North to new heights of power and who's help Jeor felt he would need in the coming battle against the White Walkers and their wights. So, if he could get this young man on his side, he knew Jon could get his brother to bring the whole of the Northern Army to the Wall.
"Indeed, I was and the only reason why I have not marched out with my men is because I was hoping you could get your brother to send both men and supplies to help fight the enemy of all men." Jeor says to him. Normally Jeor would have just sent a letter to Ned Stark, but news had already reached him that Ned had left Winterfell for King's Landing to take up the position of Hand of the King. So, sending him a letter would do no good seeing as it could take over a month for the letter to reach him.
The look of cold winter that all Starks are said to get in their eyes when they become serious makes its way to Jon's eyes. It is an impressive look to see in one so young Jeor thinks to himself.
"Lord Command Mormont I am going to be completely honest with you. My brother the acting lord of the North already knows about the White Walkers and most likely has known about them for some time now." Jon says flatly.
Jeor and Roose's eyes go wide at this information, though Roose looks less surprised then the Lord Commander.
"He knows? For how, long and why he hasn't done anything about it?" Jeor asks in anger after the initial surprise passes.
"I am not sure for how long he has known about it, but I would bet he has known for years. Maybe even longer than that." Jon says to the Lord Commander.
Jeor's face starts to turn a bit red in his rage at this news and asks, "Does your father know about this as well?"
"Doubtful. My brother does not share information with others unless he thought it was important enough to do so. In truth I didn't even know about the White Walkers being back in till I received a letter informing me of the attack by the wight a week before I got your letter." Jon says to him.
"And how did you find out of my attack before I sent my letter to you?" Lord Mormont asks seeing as he waited a full month before he sent them out.
Shrugging his shoulders Jon says, "The same way he knew about Lord Bolton's attempt at betraying my family."
Laughing a bit at the boy's words Roose says, "Spies on the Wall. How come I am not surprised your brother would go that far."
"My brother never did like the Nights Watch and he does not trust any fighting force that our family is not in full control of. In his own words, when you put weapons in the hands of the worst scum of society you're just asking for trouble." Jon says to the two men.
"A low opinion indeed but a smart move." Roose says.
Despite his anger Jeor has to agree with Roose. He had his own feelings of doubts about the men he was in command of till Roose had shape them up. To say at the time, he didn't trust them that much was a understatement but to hear that the acting lord of the North didn't trust them as well was hard to take.
"I would say the smart move was sending you here Lord Bolton." Jon says to him.
"What do you mean?" Questions Jeor.
Not seeing a reason not to answer Jon says, "This is just speculation on my part but when my brother let Lord Bolton live, I kept wondering why. You see my brother is many things, but he is not a forgiving person. If you cross him, he will look for ways to bring you down, and you Lord Bolton did cross him. So, my guess is he let you live only because he thought once you came to the Wall you would either get the men to mutiny or shape them up into an actual fighting force. Both of which would play right into whatever my brother plans for the Night's Watch."
"How so?" The Commander asks.
"Simple if Lord Bolton were to mutiny my brother would see it as the perfect opportunity to get rid of the Night's Watch for good and hand it over to the Northern Army. On the other hand if the Night's Watch turned into an actual fighting force than it could be used as a 2nd army for when by brother plans to subjugate the lands Beyond the Wall." Jon answers them. He had known long ago about his brother planned to attack the wildlings. He knew Lelouch didn't hate them, but he wouldn't let anything, or anyone stand in the way of the North prospering.
Roose was not surprised that the Black Wolf had sent him here for those reasons. Unlike the Lord Commander who look positively irate he felt like he understood Lelouch Stark. The old ways were things of the past and belong there. The Night's Watch was a perfect example of that and in till recently was little glorified holding area for criminals.
Taking a deep breath Lord Commander Mormont calmed himself. It did him no good to be angry about the what ifs or the fact that the acting Lord of Winterfell wanted to do away with the Night's Watch. The fact was that the White Walkers were back and Lord Lelouch already knew about it. So, the Night's Watch wasn't going anywhere for the time being.
"Does your brother plan to inform Lord Stark or does he have any plans to send help?" Jeor asks.
With a scowl on his face Jon answers in a bitter tone. "No on both parts."
Standing up from where he was sitting Joer asks in an angry voice. "And why not?"
Calmly Jon says to him, "For the same reason that none of the other lords of the North have answered your letters."
"We have no proof of them." Roose says with his own scowl. If he was still a lord of the North, he wouldn't have answered the letter as well seeing as he would have thought them just the ravings of an old man who was losing his mind.
"That is right Lord Bolton." Jon says to the man.
"Then we just need to go forth and find some proof." Joer says to him.
"We cannot do so as it stands Lord Commander." Jon says simply to the Lord Commander.
Looking at the boy Joer says, "I am the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch boy. So, I say what we can and can't do. If you shell not join me and mine, then so be it but I will ride forth and find proof."
Taking calming breaths like his brother had taught him and counting to ten Jon says, "And have you forgotten about the Wildling camp that is right at our doorstep?"
Those words make Joer pause. He did indeed forget about the wildling camp that was just Northeast of the Wall inside the Haunted Forest. By many reports the number of wildlings was some 50,000 if not more. They had no idea what the real number was but from what those wildlings who have been abandoning the wildling host in favor of swearing allegiance to House Stark have told them the numbers could be as big as 60 or 70,000. It would help if these barbarians could count but he would have to take what he got.
As Joer was thinking this Roose was having different thoughts. Right now, the amount of men at the wall accounted for a little over 700 men after he had to purge a lot of the men who would not shape up. Depending on where they attacked and how the Wall could be held with just that number easily. But could Hardhome be held was the real question?
"I believe the Wall could easily be held with our small numbers Lord Stark but can Hardhome do the same?" Roose asks.
"It should prove no problem. My brother has sent over 20 cannons to Hardhome to help in its defense as well as something he calls grapeshot shells." Jon answers the man.
"Grapeshot?" Roose asks in a questioning tone.
Joer and Roose had known about the cannons for some time now having been given a couple of them to be used as they saw fit. The weapons were indeed very powerful and could easily tear a man in half if hit by one of the cannonballs, but against a force of some 70,000 desperate men and women he didn't know of how much use they would really be.
Shrugging his shoulders Jon just says, "According to my brother the grapeshot shell is made up of a hand full of smaller cannon balls that are pack together in a bag and fired all at once. Once the bag is fired it opens and the smaller cannonballs spread out like a volley of arrows. The only difference being that they are fired straight at the enemy at point blank range."
Both Joer and Roose pale a bit at the thought of getting hit with a handful of small cannonballs. It was hard to say which was worse. Getting split apart by one big cannon ball or being riddled with smaller ones. They just hoped that a day where they had to be on the other side of such a thing never came.
Speaking up Joer says, "We have gotten off topic. I will concede that we can't go out to find the White Walkers due to the large group of wildlings, but can we count on your brother to send reinforcements if needed?"
Giving a sigh showing already what the answer will be Jon says, "No we cannot count on reinforcements." Before either man can say anything Jon continues, "And the reason being that my brother has informed me that the kingdom is heading towards a civil war."
This news shocks both men and Joer says, "Civil war? Is he sure?"
"He is. After your betrayal Lord Bolton my father had made up his mind to hit back at Lord Lannister for daring to try and help you by unleashing my brother on him. For the next couple of years after that my brother waged a secret war against Lord Lannister by undermining him and sabotaging his land in whichever way, he could. Of course, Lord Lannister found out about this but due to my brother leaving no trace of him being involved there was little Lord Lannister could do about it. My brother has long sense stop now but anyone who knows Lord Lannister knows he will be looking to get even. Just last year he has been building up a significant military force and has been crossing the border between the Westerlands and the Riverlands with scouts." Jon says to both men with a grim look on his face.
Both being military men themselves it doesn't take much time for them to come to the conclusion that Tywin Lannister has all but declared his intention for war with the North by scouting out the Riverlands.
"I cannot believe that King Robert would allow this to happen. Surely he knows about what Lord Lannister is up to." Joer says.
"If he does, he has done little about it. And the news only gets worse." Jon says to him.
"How can it get worse?" Joer asks not really wishing to hear the answer.
"From what my brother has found out it looks like the king is dying." Jon says.
Both Roose and Joer frown at this news. If Lord Lannister is indeed looking to start a war with the North, then no doubt the only thing holding him back is King Robert. If the king dies, then there will be nothing holding him back anymore.
"An enemy at your front and an enemy at your back. Both of whom you know are planning an attack on you but one of them you don't know when. We won't be getting any reinforcements for the foreseeable future." Roose says in understanding. Lord Lelouch can't fight on two fronts and when the Westerlands and the North start to fight it won't be those two houses going at it. No, the rest of the Seven Kingdoms will have to take sides one way or the other. When that happens Lord Lelouch will have to focus on the South do to it being a greater threat.
"We can hold off an army of wildlings, I am sure of that, but I doubt we can do the same against an army of the undead." Joer says.
"I agree and if it comes down to it, I will abandoned Hardhome and bring all the fighting men I have to the Wall. And if my brother still can't send reinforcements then we will have to pray that we can hold off the Long Night." Jon says to them for really that was all they could do.
-King's Landing-
From the moment he stepped foot in this shit hold of a city things had gone from bad to worse for Ned. First he had been told that the crown was well over 6 million gold dragons in debt even after Little Finger was killed. Prince Joffrey despite his best efforts had not been able to find the money Little Finger had stolen and had been trying to make up the debt ever sense. He may have not like the boy, but he did have to give the boy some credit for keeping the debt as low as he did. With Roberts over spending on the construction of the Winter Rose Bridge and Prince Joffrey's poor management skills when it came to being Master of Coin, Ned was honestly surprised it debt wasn't worse.
It only got worse from there, however for no sooner did he arrive in King's Landing then he started looking into what Lord Arryn had told him about. He still found it hard to believe that Robert's children by the queen were not his but after looking into it he found much to his own sorrow that it was true. Robert had a number of bastards running around King's Landing alone and after checking in on a few of the ones still in the city he had found that they all resembled him. The queen's children however didn't look anything like Robert which made it clear they were not his.
Ned didn't care whose children they were and didn't begrudge Queen Cersei for being unfaithful to Robert, but this news was still horrible. After spending so much time around Lelouch it was like he would say a predictable action on her part and in many ways a justifiable one. In the past he wouldn't have thought so but again Lelouch had told him you can't blame someone for not being faithful to you if you yourself are unfaithful. To think otherwise would make you a hypocrite and the lowest form of intelligence.
Now Ned may have had to agree with his son's way of thinking but Robert sure as hell wouldn't. Ned knew his friend to well to believe that Robert wouldn't kill Cersei and her children as soon as he could. The only truly safe one was Princess Myrcella who was under Lelouch's protection. He would get her out of Westeros long before Robert could get to her. As for Cersei and her children they won't last past the first day of Ned telling Robert.
That was why he had called the queen here to talk with him. His honor dictate that he warned her about what he found out and give her a chance to run away from Roberts fury. It was a foolish thing to do and his son Lelouch would tell him as much. But he was not his son and nor his son him. They were each their own person. But Sadly, Queen Cersei would not listen to him.
-Flashback moments before-
"When you play the game of thrones, you win, or you die. There is no middle ground." Cersei says to Ned Stark with a condescending voice.
Giving a sad laugh Ned shakes his head and says, "The game of thrones? You really have no idea what is going on do you?"
Narrowing her eyes at the man Cersei asks, "What do you mean?"
"If I know about your children not being Roberts then you can be sure that my son Lelouch does as well. In fact, I would be willing to bet he has known for years if not longer." Ned says to her as he just now realizes what his son's plans were.
"If your son knew then he would have said something by now Lord Stark." Cersei says to him with confidence in her voice.
"You are just like everyone else you know that. You all think my son is an honorable man but like everyone else you would be wrong. My son cares little for honor and will do whatever he needs to do to ensure the safety of our family and the North as a whole." Ned says to her.
"Then me and your son have something in common." She says with a superior tone of voice.
"No, no you're not." Ned says simply to her.
"Everyone thinks to highly of your son or are afraid of him Lord Stark. My own father tip toes around him like he is some great beast to be afraid of, but I do not. I am not afraid of the Black Wolf of the North." She sneers at him.
Looking at her coldly Ned says, "You should be. Take your children and run. Even if you escape Robert you won't escape him but if you run now I well guarantee my son does not follow."
Not wishing to hear another word Cersei walks off not planning to heed Ned's words at all.
-Flashback end-
Perhaps war really was inevitable at this point. Ned couldn't see Tywin Lannister taking the removal of his daughter as queen or the removal of his grandchildren from the royal line laying down. All Ned could do was tell Robert when he returned from his hunt and hope to stop the man from killing them. Maybe he could even convince Robert to hold them hostage so to keep the old lion at bay.
-Kingswood-
Today was a good day to hunt Robert thought to himself as he slowly tracked a boar on foot. He was at first hunting a white hart but had run in to some boar tracks and decided it was a much more worthy pray for someone like him. It felt great to be on his feet and hunting like a true hunter again. How he was able to stand sitting on a horse or just standing in an open field as servants and dogs scared the animals towards him, he didn't know but this, this felt right.
"My king the tracks are leading Northeast." Ser Barristan Selmy says to him.
Looking over at the man Robert nods his head. Robert would much more have liked it if he could have gone on this hunt by himself like he did as a child, but a king could not go any where's without a guard accompany him. Fuck he was just lucky he could take a shit by himself.
As Robert is thinking this, he feels his body become stiff and rigid. The war had made it so his instincts sharp and strong and right now he could feel something was not right. With his hand gripping the hunting spear in his hand tightly and readies himself to use it at a moment's notice he checks his surroundings. The men around him all seem relaxed and loose except for Ser Selmy who is doing the same as himself. Fucking greenhorns Robert thinks to himself as he locks eyes with Ser Selmy who looks back at his king with a knowing look. They are in danger and most likely surrounded, and these fuckers don't realize it yet.
The sound of an arrow is heard in the air and strikes one of Roberts men right in the neck as Ser Selmly yells out. "Men to the King!"
Men in light armor rush Robert and his men with weapons drawn. But Robert is ready for them and takes aim with his hunting spear and throws it with all his might. The hunting spear sails through the air hits that man Robert was aiming for right in the chest pinning him to a tree.
"Draw you blades your cunts. Fight, fight for you lives." He yells out as he draws his short sword and rush towards the closest man.
The men at their king's words draw their steel which are short swords, daggers and hunting spears. No one expected that they be attack this day and everyone was wearing light armor. The enemy on the other hand had better equipment than them with spears, long swords and bows. And worse yet they were outnumbered from what they could tell.
Quickly things turn into a melee as men cross blades and arrows fly through the air. Robert of course does not shy from battle and quickly shows why he is known as the Demon of the Trident as the first man who crosses blades with him is cut in half. Even with just a short sword instead of a war hammer Robert's physical strength is too much for your average man to handle.
"Keep the men attacking between you and the archers you fools or your end up as pincushions." Robert yells out as several of his men are taken out by the archers.
Killing another man with his dagger Robert picks up a discarded spear next to him and quickly takes aim and tosses it at one of the archers impaling the man in the head. Taking a moment, he looks around as the enemy keeps coming. Fuck how many are their Robert asks himself as he runs a man through the eye with his dagger. Spotting Ser Selmy he sees the old knight cut down man after man but for each one he kills another run pass the old knight towards him. These are no mere bandits, and this is not just some random attack, this is an assassination attempt Robert realizes. That's why there seems to be so many of them, they are all aiming for him.
"You want me you cunts well here I am come and get me." Robert yells as he cuts down two more men in quick succession.
He then turns quickly to cut down another man but this one has a small iron shield and blocks Roberts blow. Roberts short sword brakes on contact with the shield but being a veteran of combat Roberts pays this no mind and kicks the man in the chest knocking him down. Now without a sword Robert looks around for a weapon and spots a poorly made war hammer and picks it up than smashes the man's head in who was still on the ground.
It is not his hammer, but it will do he thinks to himself as he starts striking and stabbing anything that tries to attack him with his dagger and war hammer. Man, after man falls to the Demon of the Trident as he showed his fury. Robert had not felt so alive in gods know how many years, but this was what he needed, this was what he lived f…
Feeling his chest tighten up Robert bends over and coughs up a wad of blood. At the same time a man charges at him with a spear and thrusts it forward. Robert is able to put his hand out and is able catch the spear, but not soon enough to stop it from piercing his stomach.
Time feels like it has stop for Robert as he looks down at the spear that pierced him. He can tell the spear has gone to deep. It is a death blow and as soon as he removes the spear he will bleed out in a slow and painful death.
"My lord an old soldier knows when his time is up and accepts it. Chrestan knew it and now so do I but I will not go without a fight." Robert hears Old Tristan's voice say in his head as he continues to look down at his stomach.
"So, this is how it ends is it? Alright Old Tristan I understand now, but like you I won't go without a fight." Robert thinks to himself then gives out one last war cry then raises the war hammer in his hand it brings a mighty blow down on his attacker's head.
"You what me death? Then come and get me!" He yells out as he removes the spear and charges the next man tackling him to the ground as he feels another blade stab into his body. This does not slow him however and he brings his hammer down on the man's chest like a blacksmith would a sheet of metal.
A man with a short sword runs towards Robert looking to finish him off but Robert turns in time to bring his war-hammer around and hits the man in the knee. The man falls with a scream, but Robert ends his screams with a final blow to the man's chest.
Looking to stand Robert feels another blow but this time from an arrow hitting him in his own chest. The war hammer falls from his hands as he looks up at the archer who shot him. Looking around himself he sees a spear and picks it up. Powered only by his rage Robert picks it up and throws it with all the might he has left and hits the man square in the chest killing him.
Robert feels a slash to his back but still he does not fall and instead he turns to face the man how has slash him and tackles him to the ground. The man helplessly tries to fight off Robert, but the king is too big and powerful. Blow after blow from Robert's fists start crashing down on to the man's face and the helpless man screams in pain till his face is completely caved in. But even after the screaming stops Robert keeps hitting the dead man till the world around him goes black and he hears a voice call out "To the King."

And end.
Wow that was long.
So, tell me how you all like this chapter. I hoped you liked it because it took fucking forever.
For those who will question yes Ned made the same fucking mistake as in the show, but he couldn't help it. He is a honorable type of person and his honor dictate that he says gives Cersei a shot to flee. What happens to him next I will leave you wondering.
I really hope you guys like what I did for Robert. I really wanted to give the old warrior one last fight before he died.
Like always leave a review. Till next time bye.
