IZUKU POV

The sports festival was rapidly approaching. Everyone was spending any free time either studying or training. Kyoka and Yaomomo decided to do some training on their own. That was fine by me. I needed to focus completely on my training so I didn't embarrass myself.

The three of us had gotten closer since the USJ attack. Kyoka had already known my past but as of recently she has been a lot more friendly towards me. Pretty much anytime we were alone she would coil her jack around my arm. Whether it was intentional or not I just went with the flow, I was just happy she didn't hate me. The time we spent together started to remind me of before I left.

Yaomomo was definitely a surprise to me. She seemed to have just accepted everything as is. Kyoka did tell me she had been asking questions over the weekend. I wanted to answer her questions but I wasn't sure how much I could trust her. We had only known each other for a short amount of time, but we had gotten close. Whether it was because we just clicked or because she had been thrown head first into the torrent of mishaps that was my life.

The both of them now not only shared the secret of my quirk but also the secret that I was more or less adopted by our teacher. That was a long conversation and somehow it was my fault that they had found out. After calming down Pops was surprisingly alright with everything. Apparently Mama Joke had talked him down and convinced him that it was alright. If you asked me I'd say she was just happy that I was finding people I could trust… or she was just excited that their relationship was becoming public knowledge.

I told Pops about what had gone down after class and the deal I had made with a general studies student. Being strangled by his scarf was more or less the reaction I expected; however to my surprise he refused to help train me. I guess it was his form of telling me that I have to handle the situation by myself.

The first week was fairly productive. Everyday after class I'd go to my normal training space. I'd spend a couple hours training strength and endurance. I felt confident in my skills but I'd be lying if I wasn't a little worried. Every year the challenges are different so there was no way to predict what would happen. The only thing I could predict was that Pops was going to be of no help to me.

The week before the sports festival I was given a form that would allow me to use any support equipment if it was approved. Taking the situation at hand gave me an idea. It would be a risk and I didn't have much time to get used to it, but something would be better than nothing.

The final week before the sports festival I spent training with Yaomomo. I had remembered she had mentioned in previous training that she was able to effectively use a bo staff. I figured having something that could give me a little extra reach would be helpful in most situations, also I highly doubted they'd let me use my combat knife.

Our training went well, I felt comfortable enough to make use of it. Yaomomo was even nice enough to make me a special one made out of a mix of copper and aluminum. It was surprisingly durable for its weight.

As the final day of our training came to an end we were making our way back to the dorms.

"Thanks Yaomomo, you were a huge help this week."

"Don't mention it, it was fun and besides I learned just as much from you." She gave a smile as she fixed her hair.

"I guess." I scratched the back of my head. "But you did make this kick ass staff for me."

"That I did." She ran a little ahead of me before stopping. "I guess that means you're in my debt."

I let out a nervous laugh as I walked up to her. "I guess so."

"Well if that's the case I have an idea of how you can make it up to me." She turned to me with an innocent smile.

"And what exactly is that?"

"After the sports festival you tell me everything." Her eyes locked onto mine. There was a look of seriousness and concern behind them.

Letting out a sigh I walked past her. "Sure."

"Wait really?!"

I looked back at her confused. "Yeah, I was already planning to tell you eventually."

"Wait if that's the case then let me ask for something else!"

I let out a laugh as I started walking again. "Sorry about that, I don't offer any refunds." I looked back at her with a smirk. "Come on, it's your group's week to cook so you don't want to be late Momo."

Her face instantly turned flush as she ran to catch up with me. "God dammit, you don't play fair do you Zuzu?"

I felt my face start to heat up a little as we continued our walk to the dorms. "Neither do you."

KYOKA POV

It was finally here. The day of the sports festival. Everyone in the class was excited. I wasn't excluded from the excitement, anyone would be. The UA sports fest was one of the biggest events of the year. Not only for UA, but for the entire nation.

Even with all the excitement in the dorm there was still a feeling of uneasiness. Everyone remembered the bet that Izuku had made. To my surprise it seemed as if most of the class was worried about him. Even though he didn't normally go out of his way to socialize with people I guess they all thought of him as a key part to our class.

"Hey Jirou, are you ready to kick some ass today?"

I looked over to see Kaminari approaching. Ever since Izuku called him out he seemed to have mellowed out some. I gave him a smile. "You know it."

He took a seat on the counter next to me. "So do you think he'll be able to pull it off?"

"Without a doubt." I went back to eating my breakfast.

He looked at me slightly confused before shrugging. "You sure do put a lot of confidence in him."

"Maybe you should try it sometime." I quickly put some food in my mouth regretting the amount of venom I had put into the statement.

As if on queue Izuku walked into the common room. As he made his way past Kaminari and I he took a moment to run a finger across one of my jacks as he went to stretch."Oh sorry about that Jirou." He wasn't sorry I could hear the sarcasm laced in his words.

The sudden unexpected sensation sent a chill down my spine causing me to bite my tongue. Ever since the USJ Izuku and I have been on good terms. We even had fallen back into some of our old patterns of going back and forth. This however was something new. One day after classes he, Yaomomo, and I were studying. At one point Yaomomo brushed against my jack, it caught me so off guard that I let out an involuntary moan. After that the two of them decided to make a game out of it at my expense. I shot a quick glare at him while he just chuckled to himself.

"Hey Midoriya can we talk for a minute?"

I quickly turned my gaze to Kaminari. "Where the hell did that come from?"

I looked back at Midoriya who had an nonchalant look on his face. "Sure, should we go somewhere private?"

"Yeah, don't worry it won't take long."

The two of them made their way to the stairwell. I sat there completely stunned. A sinking feeling started to form in my chest. Focusing on their footsteps I was able to follow them up to the roof. I quickly put my bowl away and did my best to stealthily follow. Keeping a jack still focused on them I knew nothing had happened yet. I made my way up the stairs before coming to stop at the door that led to the roof. Deciding to not risk it I sat down and pressed my jack to the ground to listen into their conversation.

"So what's all this about Kaminari?"

"I don't know what you think you're doing, but it needs to stop."

"I honestly have no clue what you're talking about."

"That stunt you just tried to pull with Jirou."

"Oh that was a complete accident."

"Don't try to bullshit me! I know that wasn't an accident."

"Oh yeah, where's your proof?"

Even though I couldn't see it I had a feeling that Izuku had a shit eating grin on his face.

"Don't use my own logic against me and what's with the weird smile?"

"Called it."

"I wouldn't call anything you use logic."

"Shut up!"

I could hear a sigh from Izuku. "Is that all you wanted to talk about? I still need to eat before the festival starts."

"You should stay away from Jirou."

"What the hell Kaminari!"

"Why should I?"

"Because… because she's…"

"Oh God Kaminari, don't you dare say what I think you're going to." I had to bite my hand to resist the urge to run out there and stop him.

"Because she's my girlfriend."

"Is that so?"

"Dammit Izuku, please don't tell me you believe such an obvious lie."

"Yeah… we decided to keep it a secret since the year just started. You know how people get when the newest drama starts."

"That does sound like something she would say."

"That's because it is. So will you back off of her?"

"Come on Izuku please don't believe him."

"Kaminari, do you like the taste of blackberries on your lips?"

"Oh no, where is he going with this?"

"What?"

"Do you enjoy the sound of rain while sitting in silence? Do you secretly love the sensation of your arm going numb? Do you enjoy the cool breeze that blows at the park? Do you love the way certain lighting can make water look like it's glistening? Do you love to sit by the phone for hours at a time waiting for a call? Do you know the feeling of destroying something you longed for because of others? Because I know I do."

"What the hell does that have to do with what we're talking about?"

"It has everything to do with it."

I had to wipe the tears away that started to run down my cheeks. Izuku was able to see through the obvious lie and even counter it with things from our relationship. Even if Kaminari could answer those questions he wouldn't understand the deeper meaning behind those words. It made me happy to hear him say that. "You idiot." I couldn't help but smile. It felt almost wrong but I knew it was true. "I still love that idiot."

"I have no clue what you're talking about!"

"That's a shame, I feel sorry for you."

"I don't want your pity, I want you to back off of Jirou."

"That's not happening."

"What the hell dude! You know that's some stalker shit right there."

"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but that's up to her to decide. I'm going to go get something to eat. If I were you I'd get my head straightened out."

"Damn… if he's the one telling you that you know you have issues."

"Fine I guess I'll just have to show you during the sports festival."

I heard Midoriya turn and start walking towards me. "Do what you want, I honestly couldn't care less."

Hearing his steps approach the door sent me into panic. I quickly made my way down a flight of stairs and exited the door to not be caught. After taking a few minutes to calm myself and regain my composure I went back to the common room. I found Izuku standing in the kitchen and decided to take a chance.

"Hey Midoriya, do you want to go do something tomorrow?"

He looked up at me before scratching his head. "Sorry I can't, I kind of already have plans tomorrow."

Hearing him say that really hurt. "Oh… ok"

"But we can do it another day, I think it would be a lot of fun."

"Sure thing… Well I'm gonna go ahead and head out. I'll see you later." I walked past him trying to get out. I felt crushed. Even though I know he wants to hang out it hurts knowing he already had plans.

"Alright, see you in a little bit… Kyoka."

I quickened my pace without looking back. It was hard to believe that just one word completely changed my attitude for the day. "God I hope no one heard that."

IZUKU POV

The first two rounds of the sports festival seemed to fly by. The event was an obstacle course. It wasn't too much trouble. I managed to finish in the top ten so I felt confident. Only the first forty-two students to finish were allowed to advance. I was glad that both Kyoka and Yaomomo had made it to the next round.

The second event was a cavalry battle. I was looking forward to pairing up with them but they had already been sucked into other groups. Sure it may have hurt a little but I couldn't blame them. Luckily Uraraka wanted to team up, as well as some girl from the support course. I was opposed to it at first but after seeing what she had brought I figured she would be a huge help. The last member we had was Tokoyami. After hearing the plan I had he agreed and decided to follow me.

The event itself was pretty straight forward. Everyone seemed to chace after the group with the highest point amount. This made them easy to pick off. There was another group that had the same idea, but they made the crucial mistake of pissing off Bakugo. There was something oddly satisfying about watching someone else be on the receiving end of one of his explosions. Only the top four teams made it through to the finals and sadly Kyoka didn't make it to the last event. The bracket had been drawn. Kaminari was going against someone named Mei, Todoroki was against Sero, Iida was against a girl from 1-B named Ibarra, Yaomomo was going against Tokoyami, Ashido was with Aoyama, Uraraka had to fight Bakugo, the last battle was Kirishima against 1-B's Tetsutetsu, and I was going to be in the first match against someone named Shinso.

I looked up at the screen confused. "Who the hell is that?"

"It seems fate has brought us together to settle the score."

I turned around to see the boy with purple hair. Before I could answer him I had my mouth covered by what I hoped to God was a tail. "Hey Midoriya can we talk for a moment."

I looked back at Ojiro slightly annoyed that he had taken me by surprise. "Sure."

The two of us walked off towards the locker room as the crowd dispersed for an intermission.

Once we reached the training room Ojiro sat down in a chair exhausted. "Sorry about that."

I sat across from him. "So what was all that about?"

"I couldn't let you talk to him. If you did, I'm sure you would have lost your match."

I looked at him intrigued. "How so?"

"As I said earlier I don't remember much from the previous round. Everything felt as if I was in a fog. The last thing I clearly remember is him talking to me. I don't know exactly what his quirk is, but I'm sure that it won't work if you don't talk to him."

I took a moment to think before standing up. "Thanks for the help, I was planning on giving him an earful while I kicked his ass but I guess I can hold off on that."

Ojiro stood up and extended his fist. "Hey, make sure you get in a couple hits for me as well."

"Will do."

The two of us exited the locker room to see what everyone else was doing before the finals started. When we reached the field we saw a sight that was a gift from God.

"You know I could die happy right now."

Looking into the field we saw all the girls in our class in cheerleading outfits. Why they were wearing them we may never know, but we sure as hell weren't complaining either. Ojiro and I stood there watching them for a few minutes before I felt my phone go off.

Mama Joke: "I know it's a great view but atleast try and be inconspicuous."

I couldn't help but laugh to myself after reading her text. I put a hand on Ojiro's shoulder before walking back into the tunnel. "I'm gonna go prepare for the fight, make sure to enjoy the view for me as well."

Once I made it to my assigned waiting area I pulled out my phone to make a call.

"Izuku I'm so proud, you made it to the final event!"

"Thanks Mama Joke. I didn't realize you were gonna be here."

"Are you kidding me! I wouldn't miss it for the world. So are you excited for the first match?"

"You could say that… there's kind of a lot riding on it."

"What did you do this time?"

"Why do you assume I started something?"

"Izuku… really?"

I let out a sigh. "I may or may not have made a deal with him that said if he makes it further than me then he gets my spot in the hero course, but if I go further then him he drops out of UA entirely."

"Dammit Izuku what the hell were you thinking?"

"You didn't bullshit he was spouting off or the things he said to Jirou. He's lucky I didn't hit him then and there."

"So you were standing up for your friends?"

"Yeah… I guess so."

"Well I guess you better kick his ass."

I let out a small laugh. "Don't worry, I will."

"Hey if you do end up losing you could always come to my school."

"Could we refrain from putting even more on my mind to worry about?"

"What's on your mind?"

"It's nothing serious. I just think I may have upset Jirou somehow?" I heard a knock on the door. "Hey I gotta go, I'll talk to you later."

After I hung up the door opened up to reveal Yaomomo and Kyoka sadly they had changed out of their cheerleading uniforms. They closed the door behind them as they sat down across from me.

"Are you doing alright Midori?"

"Yeah, just a little anxious." I stood up and went to my locker to grab something.

"Do you have a plan?"

"Yeah thanks to Ojiro I have a good idea of what to do." I sat back down with them.

Kyoka locked eyes with me. "What are you going to do?"

"I plan to send a message."

"Combatants in the first match of the first round please make your way to the arena."

I stood up as I took a deep breath. "Well, wish me luck." I tossed my phone to Kyoka as I headed towards the door. "Hold onto that for me until I get back." I made my way through the door. After the door finished closing I quickly poked my head back in. "Also you two should definitely save the cheerleading outfits. I may need some cheering up if this goes wrong or possibly a reward for winning the whole thing."

With that taken care of I made my way to the arena and awaited further instructions. I was standing in the arena facing off against Shinso. He had a smirk plastered across his face.

"I hope you're ready to hand me your spot in the hero course."

I didn't answer him, I just stared at him.

"Don't worry I'll take good care of that bitch that slapped me."

I switched my gaze over to Ms. Midnight who was the referee for the day. It was still odd to see her not in street clothes.

"I'll show her what it truly means to be blessed."

I clenched my fist I shot a glare at him. I looked up to the student section and I could see a look of worry and disgust on Jirou's face. I shouldn't have been surprised that she heard everything he said. Taking a deep breath I reached into my pocket and pulled out the case for my contacts. I carefully took each one out and set them in the case. I could hear the crowd start to talk about what I had just done. A smirk spread across my face as I walked up to Ms. Midnight.

"Would you mind holding onto these? I'd really hate to lose them." I wasn't trying to be subtle with the sarcasm and cockiness in my voice.

Ms. Midnight took the case from me. "Are you sure about this Midoriya?"

I looked into her eyes and activated my quirk momentarily so that my eyes flashed black. "I don't plan on being gentle with him."

Ms. Midnight bit her lip. "If only you were ten years older."

I gave her a wink as I went back to my corner. "Wait a couple years, I love a woman who's mature."

"Alright everyone the moment you've all been waiting for is here! First up we have the pride and joy of general studies Hitoshi Shinso!"

The crowd exploded into cheers as he kept a deadlock stare at me.

"And his opponent is a blast from the past. He's the first quirkless student to make it into the hero course at UA, it's Izuku Midoriya!"

Shinso's face went pale as he heard the announcement. The crowd began to mumble in confusion. It was hard to pick out but I could tell most of the people that UA was crazy for giving someone like me a chance.

I got into a fighting stance as the smirk spread across my face. "Perfect."

"Alright fighters… Begin!"

The moment the bell rang signaling us to begin, I took off in a sprint towards Shinso. I brought my right arm back as I got in range. He put his arms up to block his face. The smirk that was on his face disappeared as I sent a jab into his stomach with my left fist.

The punch wasn't exceptionally strong but the surprise factor was what I wanted. Shinso bent over trying to catch his breath. As he was trying to catch his breath I sent a knee straight to his face breaking his nose and causing him to fall to his knees.

I backed off of him to give him a moment to recompose himself. Shinso stood back up as blood ran down his nose. He wiped away some of the blood as he locked eyes with me again. Shinso decided to try and take the offensive and rush me with a flurry of punches.

Thanks to all the training I did with Pops his unrefined attacks were easy to read and dodge. I decided to have a little fun with him and back up as if he was actually applying pressure. Shinso stopped his rush and brought his right hand back for a strong hit. Before he was able to get his punch off I countered with an uppercut straight to his chin.

The hit left him momentarily stunned. Grabbing him by his shirt I spun him so he was closer to the edge. I sent a kick straight to the center of his chest causing him to stumble towards the edge.

"Could this be it folks? It looks like Shinso's momentum is going to send him out of bounds!"

I charged after Shinso with my fist pulled back ready to deliver the final blow to end it. Our eyes met as I was just a few steps away from him. I could see the fear in his eyes and his demeanor showed that he had given up.

"God dammit why are you just giving up? Fight back dammit! I thought you were going to take my place!"

I reached out and grabbed his shirt stopping him from falling out of bounds.

"What are you doing? Aren't you going to finish it?"

My answer for him was a punch to his face before throwing back to the center of the arena.

"What's going on? Midoriya just stopped his opponent from falling out of the arena. Could this be due to Shinso's quirk?"

I walked back over to Shinso who was still trying to get up. I sent a swift kick to his face, knocking him on his back. "He has such a kickable face."

I grabbed him by his collar and pulled him up. His eyes were starting to go blank. It was time to make sure the message was sent. I activated my quirk and I saw a yellow orb appear around Shinso that said sports festivals. A smirk spread across my face as his eyes looked into my cold black ones. I let him go, causing him to fall onto all fours. Deactivating my quirk I looked up to the stands and could see that those in the student section were taken back. I looked back to Shinso who was barely moving. I brought my leg up and sent an ax kick to the back of his head, sending it straight into the concrete floor.

He wasn't moving anymore, I made sure that last hit had knocked him out. I was confident he wouldn't remember that the color of my eyes changed and even if he did it didn't matter since he was no longer enrolled at the school. I made my way up to Ms. Midnight to grab my contacts.

"And that's the fight! Izuku Midoriya from class 1-A is the winner!"

She handed me my contacts but stopped me from continuing. "Was that really necessary Midoriya?"

I didn't look at her. "I told you I wasn't going to be gentle."

I made my way back to the tunnel and once I was under the covering I put my contacts back in. I'd be lying if I said what I had just done didn't feel good.

"Don't you think you took that too far Izuku?"

I looked up to see Mama Joke standing by the waiting room. "I had to send a message."

"But what kind of message do you think you just sent?"

"Don't mess with the people I care about."

She narrowed her eyes. "It looked like it was personal to me. You saw some of the old you in him didn't you?"

"Maybe so, but the students now know the difference between the hero course and general studies."

"Even so there was no need to finish it like that. Just letting him fall out would have been enough."

"If I just let him fall out they wouldn't have accepted it. The message would have been I got lucky. The majority of people would have seen it as a fluke."

"Izuku you need to put more faith in people, don't always assume the worst in them."

I shot a glance at her before starting to walk away. "Just how I put my faith in you and Pops that one night?"

She put her hands on my shoulders and turned me around so I was facing her. "You know it wasn't like that!"

"Do I? All I know is that when I needed you most you weren't there."

Her voice was starting to falter. "Are you sure you're still talking about Shota and I?"

"Shut up dammit! You're not my mom so stop trying to be something you'll never be!"

I felt a sting on my cheek. She had just smacked me, it was the first time she had ever physically disciplined me. I could see tears running down her face and I could see how much it hurt her to do it. I knew what I had just said hurt her. I wasn't mad at her, I was mad at myself.

Her maternal instincts immediately took over. "Izuku, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to."

She let go of me and reached to where she had hit me. I knocked her hand away before turning and walking away from her. As I made my way down the hall I could hear the faint echoes of her crying.

After stopping by the locker room I made my way out of the stadium and sat hidden in trees next to it. I could still hear everything going on through the speakers. My next fight was going to be against Kaminari. Apparently the universe just felt like throwing everything at me today.

"Wow you really fucked up."

I grabbed my combat knife from my bag.

"No one really ever cared about you."

I rolled up the sleeves of my gym uniform.

"You really are all alone."

I slide the razor sharp blade across the underside of my forearm three times. One fresh cut for each of the voices. "Just shut up for a little bit alright."

I pulled some gauze out of my bag and wrapped it up. It was a pretty sloppy job but it would have to do for now. I cleaned my blade off and put it back in my bag before heading back into the stadium. Over the speakers I heard that the second round would be starting shortly. After stopping back in the locker room to drop off my bag and grab my bo staff, I made my way into the arena.

Facing off against Kaminari was something I wasn't worried about. However I was still pissed off about everything that had happened this morning and for what happened in the first fight.

Once we locked eyes he started to smirk. "This will be fun. That last fight wasn't very satisfying so I hope you can forgive me if I go overboard."

My dead eyes looked up into the crowd. I could see Kyoka and Yaomomo both worried. "Dammit I upset them as well." I looked back at Kaminari as I sighed. "Do whatever you want, this fight won't take long."

I could see some sparks starting to fly off Kaminari. He was planning to use everything and end it the moment it started. Taking my staff in hand I prepared for the fight.

When the bell rang Kaminari threw his hands in the air. "The last time we fought I wasn't able to give you a taste of my electricity, so let's see how you like it." He slammed his hands on the ground. "Indiscriminate shock two million volts!"

I took my bo staff and slammed it into the ground as the electricity started to surge towards me. "The last time I checked a fight required the other person to give some resistance." I stepped back as all the electricity was directed into the bo staff before it disapated. "I would call our last time an annihilation and I'd do the same for this one."

Kaminari had completely fried his brain from his attack. Pulling my bo staff from the ground I charged at him before taking a clean strike to the side of his head. The force of the strike knocked him off his feet and out of bounds.

"And it's another untouched victory for Izuku Midoriya! Can anyone stop him?"

As I made my way back into the tunnel I looked at the screen that displayed the bracket. I was going to fight the winner of Todoroki and Iida. I set my bo staff in the waiting room and decided I should finally go sit with the rest of the class. As I left the waiting area I ran into Todoroki who was heading to the field.

We locked eyes for a moment before he continued to walk past me. "Don't expect your next fight to be as easy as the first two. Something put me in a foul mood today so try not to hold any grudges."

I turned to face him. "Is that supposed to be a threat?"

He looked over his shoulder as he kept walking. "Consider it a warning. I don't understand why but I feel a strange form of kinship with you."

His final statement left me with a feeling of unease. Shaking my head I made my way back to the tree I had sat at earlier. "They can wait a little longer, I need to clear my head."

The break between fights was shorter than I wanted it to be. It didn't leave me much time to form a plan, but whether I was ready to not it was time. The semi finals were about to begin. Todoroki and I were both waiting for the bell signaling us to start.

When the bell finally did ring, Todoroki sent out a wave of ice, freezing the floor entirely. I didn't think he would use that trick again and because of that misstep I found myself stuck. He made his way across the ice towards me preparing to end it. As he drew closer I took my bo staff and used it to break myself free from the ice. Freeing myself was the easy part, the hard part was going to be maneuvering on the ice covered floor.

I turned my gaze back to Todoroki. "It's good to have someone that will actually put up a fight."

Using the bo staff to help maintain my balance I decided to take the suicide charge approach. I didn't have anything to fight him at long range so my only option was to get close, or pray I can dodge him until he tires out. As I got closer to him he shot out another wave of ice. Using the bo staff as a base I lifted myself off the ground to dodge it.

Surprise was etched into his face after I successfully dodged one of his attacks. I was just as surprised when I landed safely on the ground without falling. A small smirk spread across my face as I took the opportunity to counter him.

Taking the bo staff in both hands I sent a rapid flurry of four hits to his chest causing him to stumble briefly. Hoping to finish it off with a big hit I swung back but quickly lost my footing slipping and falling right at his feet.

Todoroki, taking full advantage of the situation, pinned me to the ground while twisting my arm behind my back. I struggled against him but he tightened his grip.

"The only way to get out of this is to give up or dislocate your shoulder. The choice is yours."

I continued to struggle against him each moment he tightened his grip more which sent more pain to my shoulder. "This is gonna hurt like a bitch, so I better make it worth it."

While activating my quirk I turned my head to the side to hopefully see when a potential memory was located. Once I found a good one I took a deep breath before twisting to reach the memory. As I twisted I felt my shoulder pop followed by an unbearable pain. My decision to dislocate my shoulder caught Todoroki off guard. Pushing through the pain I was able to reach the orb I wanted.

~I appeared in a traditional styled house. It was dark outside and the hallways were dimly lit. Nothing I noticed made it seem like this would warrant a black orb. Looking around a little more I found what seemed to be a Todoroki as a child, but he didn't have a scar. "Oh shit…" I watched the younger version of himself peak into a room. I followed him to the room and looked in as well. A woman that I assumed was his mother was sitting on the phone having a conversation. She seemed to be in distress. The sound of a whistling kettle could be heard as she turned to Todoroki. I had to turn away as I saw her grab her soon and begin to pour the boiling water in the kettle on him.~

When I came back, I felt a sudden surge of heat. Flames emerged from Todoroki's left side as he screamed. "Get away from me!"

I tried my best to roll away from him before he shot a burst of flames at me. It was obvious I had brought back a memory he wished to forget. As I stood up to face him the pain in my shoulder seemed to be replaced with one of heat. Looking down I saw that Todoroki's flames had caught my jacket and undershirt on fire. Not wanting to add another burn to the collection I ripped both shirt and jacket off. At the moment I didn't care that everything was on display. From the distance everyone was at they would only be able to see the scar on my chest.

Today has been a giant collage of bad decisions on my part. Taking a deep breath I decided to add one more. "So this is the power you've been hiding from us."

Todoroki glared at me. "So what if it is? I refuse to use that bastard's quirk. It brings nothing but pain."

After seeing what Todoroki had been through and hearing what he thought about his fire side, I also felt a kinship with him. "You may think that but it's a part of you. Why don't you just accept it? It's a part of you, own it and make it your own."

Without even looking I knew a certain group of people were either face palming or staring a hole through me. With my luck it was probably both at the same time. I couldn't help but laugh at myself internally. "Talk about the pot calling the kettle black."

Holding my arm trying to keep it a comfortable position I decided to throw more wood on the literal fire. "Everyone here is giving it their all while you just half-ass it. Hell I wish I had half of your quirk."

That was the wrong thing to say. The lower half of my body was immediately covered in ice. I tried to get loose but I couldn't move. Ms. Midnight made her way into the arena while putting her hand up signaling for us to stop.

"The match is over, Izuku Midoriya is unable to continue!"

Ms. Midnight eyes were a mix of proud and disappointed. She broke me free of the ice and caught me so I didn't collapse. Leaning into her she spoke to me in a whisper. "You did well today, but we are going to have a long talk tomorrow about that."

I didn't even have to look to know that she was inferring to gauze wrapping on my forearm. Thankfully I had changed it out before the fight so there was no blood on it. "Alright."

"Good, now get some rest. I'm sure you don't want to feel what's coming next." A pink mist started to form around me as I drifted off to sleep.
