Chapter 26
Two months has passed since Vetto's defeat in the Seabed Temple thanks to the Silver Eagle and Amber Phoenix Magic Knight Squads. Not long after that, Captain Acier Silva officially took the position of Queen of the Clover Kingdom. While her eldest son, Nozel, took his Mother's position as Captain of the Silver Eagles. In addition to these changes, Elf Fana and Valeria Autumn of the Amber Phoenix Magic Knight Squad continued to train the Magic Knights of Clover how to use Mana Method (under the assumption they were at least Stage 3 or higher). At this time, Captains Yami Sukehiro and Charlotte Roselei were heading to Queen Acier's office inside Clover Castle. Once they reached said office, Charlotte knocked 3 times, while Yami smoked his cigar. At the sight, Charlotte groaned loudly while she waited for the door to open.
"Do you have to smoke inside the castle?" Charlotte asked Yami. "Humph. It's quite rude." On the inside, Charlotte was mentally panicking.
Get on Yami's good side Charlotte! O-Oh wait… I believe you were the day you first met...a-and...fell in love with Y-Yami. She shook her head to get the thought out of her head. Yami took the cigar out of his mouth; thus blowing smoke out as he took a breath.
"I don't know why you have a concerned look on your face, Prickly Queen," Yami began. "but I'm wondering why Miss Queeny Silva just called us to her office. I mean come on, there's 8 other Captains to choose from. Why us?" Charlotte relaxed her body and nodded.
"I have to agree." Charlotte remarked. "Out of the 10 Magic Knight Squad Captains, why us 2?"
"I suppose we will find out once she answers the door." Yami replied. As if on cue, the door opened to reveal Acier Silva, now known as Queen Acier Silva Clover (but still prefers to be called Acier Silva) standing at the threshold of the doorway.
"Ah, Yami, Charlotte! Please come in!" Acier smiled as she gestured for the 2 Captains to enter her room. The 2 Captains looked at each other, then followed Acier inside the throne room.
"So, what exactly do you have planned for us?" Charlotte asked as she looked around the throne room.
"More importantly, why did you pick us 2 to go on this mission?" Yami inquired as he crossed his arms. "I mean, it seems kinda odd. Why us 2 Captains? There are 8 others to choose from, after all. Also, why didn't the Wizard King call for us?" Acier approached one of the windows in the throne room so she wasn't facing them.
"Julius is quite busy." Acier spoke up after a few minutes. "Not only because of his little adventures, but also because he neglects his paperwork. But don't fret. This mission does come from Julius."
"The mission being?" Charlotte asked. "Also, you still haven't answered our question about why you chose us 2 Magic Knight Captains specifically." At this point, Acier turned around to face Yami and Charlotte.
"There are multiple reasons as to why." Acier began. "But Julius did want Yami to go on this mission regardless."
"Okay, but why pair me up with Prickly Queen here?" Yami gestured to Charlotte with his right hand. "You could have paired me up with someone who's lived in Diamond. Like say, the newest Magic Knight Captain, Captain Fana of the Amber Phoenix Magic Knight Squad."
"She'd be too emotional." Acier replied. "Plus she has lots of paperwork to fill out, on top of her still being new as a Captain." She raised her right middle finger after she had raised up her right index finger. "And I could have paired Yami up with Jack. And while those 2 get along, they'd just turn it into a competition to see who could kill the most Diamond Kingdom mages." She then raised her right ring finger. "Mereoleona not being paired up with Yami for this mission is the same reason as Jack." She raised up her right pinky finger. "As for Captain Rill, he doesn't have enough experience to be out on a solo mission, or with another Captain for a mission this serious." She was about to raise her left index finger to continue, but Charlotte raised her right hand up to stop Acier from saying more.
"I think we get it, Lady Acier." Charlotte spoke before frowning. "Although, now I wonder why you chose just 2 Captains and not more. I mean, wouldn't it make the job easier?" Her light blue eyes widened slightly. "Oh! Now I know why! Because if you sent more then 2 Magic Knight Captains, then it'd make the Diamond Kingdom suspicious!" Acier smiled at Charlotte's explanation.
"That's correct Charlotte." Acier nodded. "It's also why I didn't have you 2 distribute this mission to your squad members. Even if the Blue Rose Knights and the Black Bulls did get along enough to complete this mission, it'd rouse Diamond's suspicions even more. With that being said, I want you 2 to travel to the Diamond KIngdom in hopes to get an audience with the new Diamond Kingdom Queen, Evanora Chandler-Whomalt."
"Wait, you mean that lady that almost disintegrated my right arm with her Acid Magic because I almost killed her husband, Mr. Smoky Face during the first Clover-Diamond War?" Yami questioned.
"The Wicked Witch of the East…!" Charlotte breathed. "Lady Acier, are you sure this is a good idea? She could kill us easily."
"I won't deny that." Acier frowned, but it quickly turned into a smile. "But I wouldn't worry. From what Captain Fana has told me after getting in contact with Evanora, her and Mars's mother-like figure, Evanora shouldn't have the Diamond mages attack you 2 on sight. If they do, then someone would have provoked them." She looked at Yami when she said that last part, and Yami's facial expression turned to that of mock offense.
"Me? Oh come on, Miss Queenie Silva!" Yami spoke in a mock pouting voice.
"Yami!" Charlotte groaned. "Address her properly!" Acier laughed lightly.
"It's alright Charlotte." Acier smiled. "This is Yami. So I don't mind what he calls me. Now, any questions before I send you off? This mission should take between 2-4 days." Both Yami and Charlotte shook their heads no.
"No questions from me." Yami replied.
"The sooner we finish, the sooner I can go back to my squad." Charlotte remarked coolly.
But I don't wanna go away from Yami after the mission! Charlotte thought in a desperate tone.
"Great!" Acier smiled brightly before waving them out. "Now off you go you 2! Mission to complete!"
The 2 Captains soon left the throne room and headed back towards the entrance of Clover Castle. Luckily, they had rode their brooms to said castle, so they were outside waiting for their owners. Upon reaching their brooms, they got on them and flew off towards the Diamond Kingdom in silence. After a good 30 or so minutes of flying, Yami glanced towards Charlotte in hopes to break the silence.
"So, why did you accept the mission, Prickly Queen?" Yami asked Charlotte. Charlotte looked over at Yami and humphed.
"Did you not hear Lady Acier?" Charlotte remarked with her own question. "Because she knew no one else would want to team up with you. So of course I took the offer."
"Uh-huh." Yami grunted. "Anyway, we should be closing in on the Diamond Kingdom soon. Should probably tell Julius or Miss Queenie Silva to update the world map. Since the Diamond Kingdom now has the Witches Forest as a part of its landmass."
"We can tell either of them after we complete this mission." Charlotte told Yami.
"Yeah yeah, I know." Yami replied nonchalantly. "Now come on. We're not too far from the Diamond Kingdom's borders." Charlotte made a "Hmm" noise in response as the 2 traversed on foot after getting off their brooms and heading in the direction of the Diamond Kingdom's borders. It didn't take the 2 Captains that much longer to reach the borders. But upon doing so, they had to hide behind a large bush. Several Diamond Mages were permimetering the Diamond Kingdom's Castle.
"Whoa…!" Charlotte breathed. "So many Diamond Mages patrolling the castle's perimeter." She turned to face Yami, using the corner of her right to keep an eye on the Diamond Mages. "What's the plan of action?"
"I dunno. I thought you had one." Yami shrugged as he puffed smoke out of his smoke after lighting another cigar, much to Charlotte's irritation.
"Honestly… Making me do the work to come up with a plan." Charlotte grumbled. "Well, can't just waltz right up to the castle in hopes Evanora will come out. But we also can't attack the Diamond Mages patrolling the castle. Otherwise, they'll think we're initiating a 2nd Clover-Diamond War." She groaned. "Yeah, I don't have anything either."
"We could always just...hope one of the guards spots us." Yami suggested. "Maybe then we will be allowed inside the castle to see the Wicked Witch of the East, or whatever she calls herself." Charlotte gave a deadpanned look at Yami in regards to his suggestion for a plan of action.
"That's honestly the stupidest suggestion I've ever heard." Charlotte scowled. "So stupid it might actually work."
"Really?" Yami asked. "I was only joking. But if you're sure it'll work, then let's do it." Charlotte scowled at Yami, her irritation at him hasn't subsided just yet. "Though if I remember right, it was you that said we shouldn't waltz right up to them." Charlotte groaned again, this time more loudly than the last. Unfortunately for the 2 Magic Knight Captains, this got the attention of the Diamond Kingdom Guards, who turned in the duo's general direction.
"Clover Kingdom Magic Knight Captains!" A Diamond Kingdom Guard called out. "Call General Dreyfus! It's best that she handles this!"
"You dare see us as weak or something?!" Another Diamond Kingdom Guard growled. "Attack them! Now!" And with that, the Diamond Mages guarding the castle charged at the 2 Magic Knight Captains, who now fully revealed themselves.
"Guess we have no choice." Yami mused as he unsheathed his katana and got into a battle ready stance. "Come on Prickly Queen, ready your magic." Charlotte glanced at Yami, then back at the Diamond Mages, who were firing Lightning, Fire, Earth, and WInd Magic Bullet at the 2. Yami slashed them in 2 with his katana, while Charlotte evaded and used her Briar Magic sword to also slash them.
"So much for a peaceful entry." Charlotte grumbled. "Regardless, we shouldn't kill them. We need to make this visit as peaceful as possible."
"That's going to be hard, Prickly Queen!" Yami called back to her as he knocked out another Diamond Guard with the hilt of his katana. "They don't seem interested in that!" He narrowed his eyes and sidestepped a lightning sword slash towards him. "Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked: Black Blade plus Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked: Lightless Slash!" Several Dark Magic slashes came from Yami's katana as he performed the spell multiple times over. Most of the Diamond Kingdom Guards got hit, but luckily, none of the slashes were fatal blows. Charlotte encased the ones coming after her and the ones Yami missed with her briars.
"Briar Creation Magic: Corpse Hunting Briar Trees!" Charlotte declared as several briar trees with blue roses on them rose up out of the ground and trapped several Diamond Guards.
"Gah! Call for General Dreyfus!" A Diamond Guard called out before being knocked out by Yami.
"It'd be great if these guys would stop coming after us." Yami replied as he used Dark Magic: Black Hole to absorb the spells of the Diamond Kingdom Guards that were attacking him.
"You know that the new ruler of Diamond isn't going to be too happy about this, right?!" Charlotte shouted to Yami over the fighting. "On top of that, we were told not to cause harm to the mages here!"
"Hey, they attacked us first!: Yami shot back. "So I think it's fair we strike back! Especially considering it was out of self defense! I'm sure Miss Queenie Silva won't be too mad about this!" Charlotte humphed in response.
"This is why men are such irrational thinkers. And why women have to take charge of situations!" Charlotte retorted before feeling her face heat up.
N-Not that I don't mind Y-Yami being in charge or a-anything! Charlotte thought to herself.
Inside Diamond Kingdom's castle, Evanora sat upon the throne, with Lotus to her right and Anna to her left. Lotus handed Evanora a glass of wine, which she took and sipped it before placing it aside. She glanced at Anna.
"What's the status of our prisons, Morris and Theodora Enoteca, my Mother?" Evanora asked aloud.
"Andreas and Tantalus checked on him and your Mother earlier today." Anna replied, snickering at Evanora's Mother's name. "I still can't believe the Witch Queen's name is Theodora."
"Yes yes." Evanora chuckled. "Now, I believe it's Lotus's turn."
"Me?" Lotus questioned.
"Come now dear." Evanora smiled. "It's not that bad."
"What will we do with Morris's research and his experimentations though?" Ladros spoke as he entered the throne room, giving Evanora a salute.
"Ah, Ladros." Evanora greeted the muscular young man. "To answer your question, I want to kill Morris for his crimes, along with destroying all of his research."
"But you can't bring yourself to do it." Anna frowned knowingly. Evanora glanced at Anna and nodded.
"Yeah, I can't." Evanora admitted.
"But you should at least destroy his research." Lotus pointed out as he took an apple slice off the plate next to him.
"I have Andreas already on that." Evanora replied. "Now Ladros, if you and my husband would please go check up on Morris and my Mother."
"Of course Your Majesty!" Ladros bowed to Evanora, while Anna snickered in amusement and Lotus just grinned sheepishly.
"Sure thing Evanora." Lotus retorted as he followed Ladros out of the throne room. After they left, Anna went to one of the many windows and looked outside. To her surprise, she saw Yami and Charlotte battling against the Diamond Kingdom Guards. "Huh… Odd."
"What is?" Evanora asked as she got off the throne and went to the window so she was next to Anna. She immediately took notice of Yami and Charlotte. "Yami Sukehiro and Charlotte Roselei. Both are Magic Knight Captains for the Clover Kingdom's Magic Knights." She turned to Anna. "I know this seems like something lowly for you, but can you go down there and see why they're here?" Anna laughed before grinning.
"Ha! You know me too well!" Anna grinned. "Yes, this is lowly, but I was going to do it regardless if you told me to or not." Evanora couldn't help but lightly smile.
"That's good to hear." Evanora spoke. Anna stretched, then turned on her heel.
"Well, I'm gonna head out to meet those 2 Magic Knight Captains." Anna remarked. Evanora nodded in approval and watched Anna walk out of the throne room.
Outside the Diamond Castle, Yami and Charlotte had finished knocking out and trapping the Diamond Guards. Yami brushed his hands to clean off any debris on them.
"That's the last of them." Yami noted. "Let's head inside to talk to Miss Diamond." Charlotte nodded, then gaped as she felt someone else's mana. "Yami! Look out!" Yami didn't even look up as he leapt backwards so he was standing next to Charlotte. A blast of magic exploded and made a small crater in the spot Yami was originally. A second later, a woman with brown skin, black hair, and red eyes appeared in front of them. She wore a regal red armor with a long dress and ladylike gloves and adorned with a black fur coat (since it is what most Eight Shining Generals - both Old and New Generations wear) that has the symbol of Diamond Kingdom on its back.).
"You're…!" Charlotte began, as if recognizing the woman.
"Ah, Yami Sukehiro, Charlotte Roselei." The woman remarked. "The name's Anna Dreyfus. One of the Eight Shining Generals of the Diamond Kingdom. Now tell me, what brings you 2 here?" Yami was about to speak, but Charlotte spoke first.
"We are here on a mission." Charlotte began. "We request that you allow us to see Diamond's new ruler." Anna glanced between Yami and Charlotte, her arms now crossed. Her longsword in her right hand.
"Oh? Why should I?" Anna inquired.
"It's just to confirm something that Captain Fana told us after her mission to the Witches Forest with the Silver Eagles." Yami chimed in. "She told us that Evanora had said that she wouldn't be attacking Clover ever again after she became Diamond Kingdom's ruler. Is this true?" Anna stared at the 2 Clover Magic Knight Captains before chuckling. Then proceeding to outright laugh.
"Why are you laughing?" Charlotte finally asked as she raised an eyebrow in confusion by Anna's antics. Eventually, Anna stopped laughing and her lips formed a smile.
"The fact that your Wizard King and Clover Queen don't believe Evanora's words to Fana at that time speaks volumes." Anna replied coolly as she got into a battle ready stance. "Because of this fact, I won't allow you to see Queen Evanora." She pointed her longsword at the 2 Magic Knight Captains. "If you want to see Evanora, you'll have to defeat me in combat."
"I figured…" Charlotte groaned.
"But because you just trapped and/or knocked out the Diamond Kingdom Guards, I will be aiming for the same." Anna added before smiling lightly. "But that doesn't mean I won't make you bleed a little." Yami pointed his katana at Anna.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Yami asked, a grin on his face. "Let's fight!" Charlotte gave Yami a look that said "Are you for real?!".
"Great!" Anna grinned. "Let's start!"
"Ugh…! Guess I have to bail you out of this mess, Yami." Charlotte replied with irritation in her voice, yet she too prepared to fight Anna.
"Breaker Magic: Piercing Blast!" Anna declared, firing a beam of Breaker Magic from the tip of her longsword multiple times towards Yami and Charlotte. Yami tried to block them with Lightless Slashes, but the Breaker Magic beams destroyed the dark slashes. Yami and Charlotte gaped in surprise, then leapt out of the way of the remaining Breaker Magic beams that made small explosions on the ground where Charlotte and Yami originally stood.
"Tch…!" Yami grunted.
"Modified Briar Magic: Blue Rose Paradise!" Charlotte declared. Several briars rose out of 2 magic array circles that Charlotte made on the ground around the castle that soon surrounded the 3 of them. Anna on the other hand leapt into the air and landed on her broom just before the briar vines could touch her. Yami glanced at Charlotte and nodded before turning his attention back to Anna, who was now in the air and out of Charlotte's spell's range. A light smile appeared on Anna's lips.
"Hmm… I see." Anna noted before grinning. "But no matter! Breaker Magic: Arhat Spread Shot!" Several Breaker Magic beams fired off from her longsword towards the 2 Magic Knight Captains, a red magic circle surrounding each beam.
Dark Cloaked: Black Blade. Yami thought as his katana got imbued by Dark Magic.
"Now Dark Cloaked: Lightless Slash!" Yami swung his katana several times to unleash several Lightless Slashes, unfortunately, all of the Dark Magic slashes from his katana broke apart into several pieces upon making contact with the Breaker Magic beams.
"Dammit…!" Charlotte grunted in irritation. "No matter what spells we use, she can just break them into multiple pieces with her Breaker Magic…...!"
Charlotte is right. Yami thought as he and Charlotte evaded more Arhat Spread Shots and Pulverizing Blasts from Anna. We can't fight her from a distance.
In which case… Charlotte thought.
We have to fight her at close range! Both Charlotte and Yami thought. Charlotte waved her right arm subtly so her briars could raise her and Yami up towards Anna so they'd be on equal height/footing.
"You 2 may be Magic Knight Captains, but not even your magic can defeat mine!" Anna told the 2 Magic Knight Captains, a mocking smile on her lips. "The only Magic Knight Captain capable of going toe-to-toe with me is Jack and his Severing Magic!"
"You know Jack, huh?" Yami questioned as Charlotte maneuvered her briars to evade Anna's attacks.
"I do, yes." Anna replied. "He and I have fought before. It's how I got my chest wound. Granted you can't see because my clothes cover it, but it's there." She looked at the 2 Captains before adding, "It was thanks to him that I no longer see myself as invincible. And so I've learned when to retreat. However…" She pointed her longsword at the 2 Magic Knight Captains. "I will not retreat against you 2 in my homeland!"
While the fighting was going on outside the Diamond Kingdom castle, Lotus and Ladros headed down the dungeon of the castle. Eventually, the duo reached the dungeons,where Morris, and to there surprise, the Witch Queen, were chained up and inside cells.
"Whoa...!" Ladros breathed. "I knew Lady Evanora would have Morris locked up down here, but I didn't expect the Witch Queen as well."
"Perfection…" The Witch Queen muttered. "Perfection...must be obtained….."
"Uhh…" Ladros raised an eyebrow.
"Ignore her." Lotus remarked. "She's been muttering that for the past 2 months now." He glanced inside Morris's cell. "We're here for him." Upon looking into the cell, Ladros could see a blind, blonde-haired man, wearing a white lab coat, a black shirt underneath, as well as black pants. The man known as Morris looked up at Ladros and Lotus. Though he was blind, he could still make out there body shapes. Morris's lips formed a dark smile.
"Well, if it isn't Lotus and Ladros." Morris remarked. "I'm glad my experiments were a success." He then frowned. "A shame that Kruger betrayed Diamond though."
"Actually…" Lotus began. "It was you who betrayed Diamond. Turning the children into your mere toys disgusted me, as well as it did my wife. We knew eventually you'd aim to take our 3 daughters away for said experimentations. So when someone arrived and had you arrested, it was a blessing to us. Now with you locked up, you're pretty much powerless." Morris on the other hand, just laughed.
"That's what you think, Lotus." Morris replied. "But soon, someone will come to get me out of here. You'll see."
"Uh-huh, sure." Ladros remarked before turning on his heel. "Let's go, old man." Lotus chuckled at Ladros's words before following him back up the stairs. Though Morris is blind, he watched them leave, a dark smile on his face.
"This is getting good!" Anna grinned as she clashed her sword with Yami's katana.
"Yeah well, we're getting tired of fighting." Yami retorted nonchalantly as he looked at Charlotte. "Isn't that right, Prickly Queen?" Charlotte snapped out of her thoughts and looked back at Yami before nodding then turning to face Anna.
"It's best that you just let us talk to Evanora than to drag this out." Charlotte chimed in before scowling. "This is an unnecessary fight between us 3. Just put the sword down so me and Yami can finish our mission."
"And it's as I said." Anna replied. "The fact that your Wizard King and new Queen of Clover speak volumes when they don't trust Evanora's words to Fana back in the Witches Forest."
"Hey, we're just taking it with a grain of salt." Yami retorted as he parried another sword slash from Anna with her longsword. "If we just believed it, then who's to say that Evanora could have taken her words back and attack Clover anyway?"
"That's exactly right, Yami." Charlotte added as she launched Corpse Hunting Briar Trees at Anna thanks to her briar sword-whip. Anna narrowed her eyes slightly, then they reverted back to normal.
"As much as I'd love to continue fighting you 2, this has to come to an end." Anna told the 2 Magic Knight Captains. Suddenly, a Breaker Magic aura began to surround Anna. "I'll make you 2 go flying back to Clover with this spell! Breaker Magic: Aura-!"
"Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked: Lightless Blade Storm!" Yami interrupted Anna as she was slashed several times by Yami's Dark Magic coming out of his katana. Anna cried out as she fell off of her broom and landed on the ground. Which unfortunately for her, was still covered in Charlotte's Blue Rose Paradise spell. The briars immediately reacted and bound Anna before lifting her up so she was eye level with Yami and Charlotte, who had now returned to ground level.
"Nnngh…!" Anna grunted as she struggled to break free from the briars; blood trickling down her face and places where Yami had torn her dress. "I lost? In my home country to boot? This can't be possible!"
"Well it is." Yami replied nonchalantly.
"We knew we couldn't beat you from a distance." Charlotte explained. "So we had to get in close to be able to fight back against your Breaker Magic.
"So are you going to allow us to see Evanora or not?"
"Tch…!" Anna grunted at Yami and Charlotte's words before smiling. "I may be bound, but I still have enough mana to fight! In other words, I haven't truly lost yet!" The Breaker Magic aura Anna had started early began to reappear. "It's as I said, I'll launch you 2 back to the Clover Kingdom where you belong! Breaker Magic: Aura-!"
"Acid Creation Magic: Shield of Corrosion!" Suddenly, an acidic shield appeared in front of Yami and Charlotte.
Huh? Yami and Charlotte both thought.
"That magic…!" Anna thought as she looked up to see Evanora on her broom. "Evanora?! But why…?!" Evanora, now wearing the crown of the former King, as well as wearing a purple dress-gown, looked down at Yami, Charlotte, and Anna. Evanora didn't answer Anna's question right away. After a few more seconds, she finally did.
"I was wondering what was going on and decided to check it out." Evanora replied, crossing her arms. "But I didn't think this would escalate." She glanced over at Yami and Charlotte. "I apologize on behalf of Anna and the Diamond Kingdom Mages that attacked you." Her lips formed a small smile. "In all honesty, I, and I take it the Diamond Mages that attacked you 2 expected you 2 with your squads. If that had been the case, then this would have been more than a mere knock 'em out and trap for you 2 Magic Knight Captains. Bloodshed would have been unavoidable."
"I'm glad you understand." Charlotte spoke as she deactivated her Blue Rose Paradise spell; thus freeing Anna, who rubbed her wrists before glancing at Evanora, then at the 2 Magic Knight Captains.
"You know something?" Anna asked Yami and Charlotte. "You 2 have really good chemistry when it comes to battling alongside one another." Evanora chuckled in amusement.
"Yes, I felt it too." Evanora laughed lightly. "It makes me wonder if they're an item." At that remark, Yami gaped while Charlotte's face became dark red.
Nonononono! Does she know my secret?! Charlotte thought, internally panicking. Yami took notice of Charlotte's dark red face, which got Evanora and Anna to laugh.
"Hahaha! Miss Roselei loves you, Mr. Sukehiro!" Evanora laughed. "Oh now I remember fighting you! After you nearly killed Lotus in front of me! I nearly got your right arm destroyed by my Acid Magic!" Yami gave Evanora a deadpanned look.
"Yeah, whatever lady." Yami spoke. "Can you just confirm for us that you won't have Diamond attack Clover ever again?"
"Sure." Evanora replied before snickering. "But only if you 2 go on a date.~" Charlotte at this point wanted to faint, Yami had a confused expression on his face, and Anna just laughed along with her friend.
"Haha!" Anna laughed. "You got them 2 good!" She stopped laughing upon realizing that Evanora was serious. "Oh. You're serious, aren't you?"
"I am." Evanora replied simply. "Though we might want to get Miss Roselei some water or something. Her face is as dark red as a bright tomato."
"This is ridiculous." Yami grunted. He quickly changed his tune upon noticing Evanora's "innocent" smile-glare. "Oh alright, fine." At Yami's words, Charlotte passed out, but Yami caught her before she could hit the ground.
"Now I can say with confidence and genuineness to your faces." Evanora spoke. "I swear that I, Queen of the Diamond Kingdom, will not attack Clover ever again." She paused, then added. "Oh, and since you 2 are here, you can have your little date here, too."
This can't be happening! Charlotte thought, still panicking.
"Relax Prickly Queen." Yami told her. "They're not going to attack us anymore."
That's not why I'm panicking, you dolt! Charlotte thought, a bit furious at Yami's "obliviousness" to her true feelings for him. Evanora turned her broom around and flew back to the castle. Anna naturally follows on foot. After several steps of walking, and realizing Yami wasn't following, she stops and turns slightly.
"Come on now Sukehiro! Chop chop!" Anna clapped her hands. "Though it'll take you awhile because you're carrying Charlotte."
"Heh… That's fine." Yami replied, a grin appearing on his face. "It just means I'll be able to push my limits more now." Anna just laughed as she turned around and continued to walk back to Diamond Kingdom Castle.
Within the throne room of the Spade Kingdom Castle, Eva Zogratis observed the Eye of the Midnight Sun via monitors. She waved her hand to show William walking through the spatial portal Rhya created for him. She put a hand to her chin, a dark smile appeared on her lips.
"Fascinating…" Eva mused as she pulled out a communication device after looking at another monitor, which showed the vastness of the Earth Grand Magic Region. A sparkling light shone within one of the caves. "But the location of the magic stone is just as fascinating." She pressed a button on the communication device. "Time for a little chat…Captain William Vangeance…"
0713MM: And that does it for Chapter 26 of The Silver Valkyrie! I apologize in advance for how long it's taking to get the chapters done. In all honesty, it's the heat in the summer. It makes me feel unmotivated/cannot concentrate on writing for the chapters. But once summer ends, I can almost guarantee you chapters will be getting posted way more often.
