A/N - So, it seems I couldn't keep away for long. It's like an addiction coming on here haha. This is the start of an idea that formed in my head. I thought I'd throw this out to you and see what you think. Most of my fic's have been AU so this is new to me really. Basically, its a continuation of what I would have liked to see when Arizona moved to New York. Feel free to throw ideas my way. They're always welcome and well, I hope you like the idea.

Love Will Keep Us Together.
Chapter 1
As the wheels of the plane touched down on the tarmac, their bodies jerked forward slightly. Arizona looked to her right, a small smile playing at her lips as she gently squeezed the small hand grasped within her own. "OK sweetie, we're on the ground. You can open your eyes now."
The little girls eye lids loosened up, her big brown eyes finally coming into sight and looking out of the window. She let out an audible sigh of relief at seeing her mother was right. Sofia had always hated the take off and landing each time she'd flown back and forth from Seattle to New York. Now, she felt happier in the knowing she wouldn't be having to make that trip again in a very long time, if ever at all. She smiled, a big toothy grin as she looked back to her mom. "We're home, mommy."
Arizona nodded, leaning in to kiss her daughter's head. "We're home." And that's exactly what New York was going to be for the blonde now. Home. She'd taken the leap and somehow, everything seemed to be falling into place.
That night, after the day Sofia had stolen the money for the class field trip and Arizona had found out the reason she'd done it, was so she could buy a plane ticket to New York, the blonde had felt crushed. Arizona had been doing the best she could but it seemed, it hadn't been enough. As much as she loved her job, she would always love Sofia more. If her daughter needed to move back to New York then she knew, she couldn't be the one to stop that from happening. What she also realised was that, she wouldn't be able to let her go alone. She was going to have to make the move with her.
Speaking with Callie later that night, the Latina had been elated at her ex wife's decision. They knew that having both parents living in the same city again would be best for their daughter. Truth be told, Callie had been recently contemplating moving back to Seattle. The only thing holding her back was the fact she was now head of Ortho and she had been given her own research lab within the New York Presbyterian Hospital only a year after she'd started working for them. She had everything she could ever want there and walking away from it was proving hard to do.
Her relationship with Penny had fizzled out just over a year of them making the move to New York. Callie had chastised herself time and time again for jumping in with both feet because after uprooting her life, losing custody of her daughter and almost ruining her friendship with Arizona, it hadn't taken long for her to realise that Penny wasn't and would never be the one. To begin with it had all been new and exciting, living in the big NYC, but within only a few months, the arguments began. Stupid, needless arguments that always ended with Callie walking away and sleeping on the couch in her research lab. She just hadn't been as invested in the relationship as she should have been. Penny had moved out of the apartment which Callie had bought out right and even though they worked at the same hospital, they never really saw one another anymore.
When Arizona had rang her again and told her about the opportunity Nicole Herman had offered her, she knew it was meant to be. She'd been planning of suggesting that she move back to Seattle but after a 2 and a half hour phone call, they both decided that Arizona and Sofia should move to New York. It's where the little girl was happy and at the back of their minds, they hoped the move would mean a complete fresh start for both of them. Whether that be just as co parents and friends or down the line, if it could be something more once again.
What mattered the most though was that both she and Arizona were going to be living in the same city and they were going to be able to bring up their daughter together. She couldn't and wouldn't allow Sofia to become something she and Arizona fought over ever again.
The calls and texts had began happening more and more often after the news the blonde was going to be moving over there. Some of which even came across as quite flirty. Arizona was excited. Excited for the move, excited for the new job and excited for the fresh possibilities New York could offer.
As the plane moved over to the airport building, the blonde reached into her pocket to retrieve her cell. She looked to her daughter as it powered up. "Are you excited to see your mom?"
Sofia nodded enthusiastically. "I'm gona hug her so hard."
Arizona laughed. "I think she is gona hug you so hard too, sweetheart."
"Are you going to hug her too?"
Arizona thought on for a few moments. Truth was, she wasn't sure if she would hug her ex wife or not. Would it be OK? I mean it's just a hug and she had missed her. The texts they'd been sending this morning and before Arizona had boarded the plane had been filled with promise. Callie had been telling her how much she'd missed her and how she was going to take her to see all the sights New York had to offer. Yes, Arizona was feeling excited. In fact right now, butterflies began to fly around in the pit of her stomach at the thought of her ex wife waiting inside the airport to pick them up. Great, now she felt nervous.
"Mommy?"
Coming out of her thoughts Arizona shook her head slightly. "Oh, umm, I don't know, Sof. Maybe. I like hugs."
Feeling her cell vibrate she looked down, her heart skipping a beat as she saw a text had come through from the object of her thoughts. Her hopes however were dashed upon opening and reading the text.
"I am so, so sorry but I got called into an emergency surgery. Please, come to the hospital. I'm just so excited to see you both and don't want to wait another second."
Her lips lifted into a half smile. Even though it was nearly 10pm and she'd been up since the crack of dawn for the wedding, which had been eventful in itself, there was no way Arizona and Sofia would not go to the hospital to see Callie.
"Your mom got called into a surgery but she wants us to go meet her at the hospital. That'll be fun to see where your mom works."
"I've been and it's big. I can show you around."
Grinning, Arizona squeezed her daughter's cheeks. "My little tour guide."

The cab pulled up outside the New York Presbyterian a little while later and after grabbing her and Sofia's suitcase, Arizona and the little girl walked into the hospital. She'd replied to Callie's text on the ride over saying they were on their way and to ring when she was done with her surgery.
"So, my little tour guide, where shall we start?"
Sofia thought on for a few seconds before excitement lit up her face. "Can we go to the cafeteria? I always get free pudding off Annie because mom tells her I'm her best little helper."
Grinning, Arizona nodded. "I wonder if I'll get free pudding too?!"
Sofia giggled. "No, I don't think so, but you can share mine."
Arizona scoffed as she let herself get dragged down a corridor by her excited little girl.
It was almost an hour later when they returned from their mini tour of the hospital. Annie hadn't been in the cafeteria and they were all out of pudding so they'd turned and went to explore the rest of the hospital instead.
As time went on, Sofia had began to flag and as they made it back to the main entrance, they'd set up camp on some chairs and the little girl had fallen asleep within only a few minutes. Now, as Arizona sat idly people watching, her phone began to ring. Answering the call, a smile automatically formed on her lips. "Hey.."
"Hi, where are you?" Came Callie's reply.
"We're just inside the main entrance. Sofia fell asleep a little while ago. I think the wedding plus the flight over has her totally wiped."
"I'm sorry for making you wait so long. I should have let you get yourself sorted. I just, I really wanted to see you both. I've been thinking about it all day."
Arizona smiled down the phone. "Well, can I just admit that I kind of wanted to see you too? Is that OK for me to say?" The blonde could hear in her ex's voice that she was smiling too.
"Ofcourse it is, Arizona. It's nice to hear to be honest." Rounding the corner, Callie stopped and looked across to the waiting area. She saw the wide smile on her ex wife's face as she stroked their daughters head. She felt her skin tingle as she continued to watch the blonde for a few extra moments.
"How did your surgery go?"
Leaning against the wall she let herself secretly take a little longer to look at her daughter and the woman she used to call her own. "He didn't make it."
"I'm sorry." The blonde decided not to ask her anymore questions about it. Her eyes looked up from her daughter and she instantly spotted Callie across the way. A smile broke out on her face while her insides seemed to flip. "Calliope? Are you stalking me?" Callie laughed down the phone which caused shivers to run up the blonde's spine.
"Totally busted." Callie pushed herself off the wall and walked over to them, hanging up the call in the process.
Arizona nudged Sofia, softly telling her to wake up. The girl rubbed her eyes and protested briefly before realising where she was. As soon as her eyes saw the Latina approaching, she jumped up and ran into her mother's arms.
The blonde watched on while getting to her feet. Eventually, they looked at one another. No words were spoken for several moments. An internal debate raged on inside them both. Do they hug? Kiss? Hearts fluttered but eventually, Callie broke the silence. "It's good to see you."
"You too." Without even realising, they both leaned in and embraced. Holding on to Callie for the first time in, well, probably nearly a couple of years was everything she could have imagined and more. She squeezed the doctor, savouring the moment. She could smell the perfume that was distinctly Callie and it instantly brought back so many memories. Some thing's never change.
"You look really good, Arizona" Callie said, pulling back from the embrace.
The blonde laughed. "You're kidding? This morning I looked good, hot even, but after being up since 5am, I highly doubt I look so good."
Callie shrugged. "I beg to differ." Once again, they got lost in each others eyes for several moments. Feeling Sofia squeeze her hand, Callie looked down at her. "Come on, let's get out of here." Taking a hold of a suitcase each, they started to walk out of the main doors. "Are you hungry? We could grab a snack and go to my place?"
Arizona wanted nothing more but she was also so exhausted. "I'd like to but I don't know if perhaps I should let you guys do that and I'll go get checked in at a hotel."
Callie couldn't mask her disappointment. "It's late, Arizona. You can stay at mine tonight." The Latina rolled her eyes when Arizona gave her a look. "I meant, there are 2 rooms." She laughed, out of nerves more than anything. "Sofia can stay with me and you can have her room, or vice versa? The Latina watched as Arizona pondered the offer. "It's just one night. It's after 11 already.."
"Come on, mommy. Let's go. We can have pizza" Sofia said hopefully.
Arizona laughed as she rubbed her daughter's head. "OK. Let's do it."
"Yay" the girl sang with happiness.
Laughing, Arizona looked up at Callie and found that mega watt smile she'd always loved. As the Latina and Sofia began to back away, all Arizona could do was follow.
