It would have been the depth of night when Subaru and Beatrice arrived back. They were gone about forty-five minutes after all, and when they left the sun was already receding fast. During this time there was not much of a discussion between Subaru and Beatrice. They just seemed uneasy. Subaru because he feared what would happen if modern technology of war reaches this world, and Beatrice because Subaru seemed so uneasy about the metal beast. Subaru was weary, knowing that guns plus magic equals a really fucking bad time, and guns are not even the worst thing from his world… Well, either way he was going to make sure everyone knew that it was just a dry lightning strike and there was nothing serious.

Speaking of everyone, Subaru and Beatrice were now in full view of the Milord Mansion. They would walk to the doors, but before knocking Subaru would look to Beatrice to make sure she said it was a dry lightning strike.

"Remember Beako, it was a dry lightning strike."

"Yes, S- Subaru, I suppose."

Beatrice would say, still a little uneasy from Subaru but making sure to keep her cool. Giving one sigh, Subaru would knock on the door. It would quickly be answered by a pink-haired maid with a flat chest.

"You took too long. Go die Barusu."

Ram would say in her usual cold attitude right after she opened the door, as Subaru would just brush it off. All this was just her attempt at hiding her closeness for him, plus Subaru enjoyed this at this point. It was familiar if that makes sense.

"Uh-huh, Ram. Now, where is Emilia?"

"Emilia-sama is currently residing in the hall along with a majority of the other residents and town-folk."

"Thank you, Ram."

With that Subaru and Beatrice would walk into the manner, going towards the halls through the long and big hallways… They were just as big as Roswaal's manner. Ram would be walking right behind them; she must have only come to open the doors for them. A reasonable task seeing as she is the only maid, save for Fredricka's presence. There normally would have been three maids, Rem being the third and the one who did the most work. Subaru would have had his perfect ending if Rem was there, but Gluttony snatched that chance away from him.

On the way back from the attack on The White Whale Rem, Crusch, and many soldiers were attacked by Sin Archbishops of Gluttony and Greed. Subaru was damn sure Sloth was the only Sin Archbishop, but those other sins had to shit on his whole day. Still, this was no time to dwell on the past. He had to now deal with the present, which involved some possibly game-changing things. Speaking of the present, he, Subaru, and Beatrice were now at the doors to the hall.

As he would open the doors Subaru and Beatrice would be brought to a less-than-good sight. Everyone would be at their normal party activities once more, but an aura of unease would surround them all. It seems everyone was a bit nervous about that, but with Subaru's arrival, everyone seems to have lightened up a bit, looking at him curiously. Emilia would run up to Subaru quickly as she would immediately be both delighted to see him and interested in what happened.

"What took you and Beatrice-chan so long you dunderhead!"

"Who even says that word anymore?"

"Stop teasing!"

Subaru and Emilia would laugh for a bit before Beatrice cleared her throat to get both of their attentions.

"All Betty and her contractor found was smoke from a dry lightning strike, I suppose."

"Yeah, Beakos right. All it was, was just a lightning strike. That must've just been the thunder we heard, instead of an explosion."

Subaru would say, referencing the really loud sound they heard that got everyone's attention.

"A lightning strike? Oh yeah! That makes sense!"

Emilia would say enthusiastically, feeling no reason to doubt her knight. Why would he ever lie to her? The rest of the partygoers would breathe a sigh of relief. They must have felt the same way.

Subaru on the other hand would be starting to feel guilty. He lied to Emilia again, he broke a promise of knighthood, but he felt it was still for the better. If this world had to deal with technology, the destruction would be immense!

"'Ats my cap'n for ya! Runnin' to find the truth! So cool!"

Garfiel would be praising his captain, Subaru, as per usual. Subaru would blush a bit, still not the most used to being called 'captain'.

"Emilia-tan, let's all just get back to the party and ceremony now."

"Let's!"

Emilia would take Subaru's hand as they would go back to dancing, Beatrice would go back to Petra, to have their fun, and Garfiel would go back to his bro Otto to help him get a world record hangover.

Earth. The world Subaru came from and a dangerous one at that.

Kenichi and Naoko had been mourning for some time now, with the disappearance of their son. Naoko barely talked much anymore, while Kenichi tried to lighten up the mood, though even he was internally hiding. When the security cameras of the convenience store were reviewed, it showed the strangest thing… Subaru just disappearing. Gone out of thin air. It was said by the police to be just a mere error in the video recording, and his parents believed it. They blamed themselves, and for months they mourned.

In the political world though, something big had been happening. Over Japanese soil, an American helicopter disappeared mid-flight, gone from any video feeds or ground control feeds. America was understandably pissed believing Japan had something to do with it, but the Japanese leader denied all responsibility. They also had reports of things disappearing from them, including a seventeen-year-old boy a few months back and a baby giraffe only days ago. Both just gone, even in the cameras both just disappeared mid-video. Now, America and Japan knew something was up at this point… What's worse is that they knew if something like say, a Chinese submarine, disappeared in Japanese waters, it could mean a declaration of war… And as such research began on both the Japanese and American sides, to see why things were just disappearing.

"Are you sure you want to go on this trip Subaru?"

Subaru, Beatrice, Garfiel, and Otto were about to go on a trip to the capital. Subaru gave the excuse that he was going to get his gate checked out, but he and Beatrice knew the real reason they were going. To tell Al about the helicopter situation. As a man also from the original world, it would be for the best that he knows, and he may even know what's going on for all Subaru knows. He had been here for nearly two decades at this point, so he knew significantly more than Subaru did about this world.

"Yes, I'm sure Emilia-tan. It breaks my heart to have to leave you, but I have to make sure my gate is fine."

"Don't worry lady boss! Cap'n will be fine with my amazin' self with him!"

Emilia would just sigh, giving a parting smile and waving to them.

"Fineeeee! Don't be gone too long you four! Treat Subaru well Beatrice-chan and Garfiel!"

Garfiel would give a heads up as Beatrice would give a pout.

"Betty would never let anything happen to her contractor!"

"Natsuki-san, we need to go now if we wish to make it at sunrise tomorrow."

Otto would warn Subaru, trying to hurry up their introductions. Otto would be sitting at the driver's seat, with Fruofoo and Patrasche in front of him, he was going to be the one driving this trip. Noticing they had to hurry up, Garfiel would hop in the back, with Subaru and Beatrice following suit. Subaru would give a wave goodbye to Emilia.

"See you in a few days, Emilia!"

As the wagon and ground dragons started moving Emilia would wave goodbye and continued to do so till they sunk over the horizon.

It would be nearly a day later when they were getting close to arriving. The sun would be just peeking over the horizon as bags would be under Otto's eyes. He was clearly tired! Everyone else, even Beatrice, would be fast asleep in the cart until suddenly the cart would come to a halt. Garfiel and Subaru would still be fast asleep, but Beatrice would immediately wake up, being new to sleeping and all. Why would he do that? They weren't at the capital yet… But the walls were certainly in view, maybe a mile away,

"What was that I wonder!?"

Beatrice would ask, clearly very annoyed about being forced awake out of nowhere. Suddenly, Otto would cut in quite loudly at that. He seemed nervous… Scared even.

"Natsuki-san, Garfiel-san, you need to see this!"

Subaru would wake up quite groggily but would immediately go fully awake once he noticed how Otto seemed quite nervous. Garfiel would do the same as Subaru before both of them would go to the front along with Beatrice.

"Is that a…"

All three would say in unison. After that though, it was like a shouting contest to put out what they believed was in front of them. Beatrice, Garfiel, and Subaru. Otto would just be sitting there with the reigns in his hand, confused, scared, and tired,

"Baby giraffe!?"

"'abeast!?"

"New mabeast species, I wonder!?"

Hey guys! I originally planned to have Al come in this chapter, but due to limited time and this chapter already getting a bit long, I went against it. I hope you guys liked what I did when I gave a small view into the OG world. Anyways, as per usual I'd be happy to take any constructive criticism, ideas, or suggestions.
