As I said I did post the entirety of Book 2 and boy is it just as bad as the first.
This entire chapter is just devoted to reviewing what the hell did I read and why did I think it was so good beforehand.
Firstly, the villains once again!
Kanako and fucking Tenma are shown to be the worst people imaginable in this fanfic, especially since both want some type of war and conquer the world or some type of BS…
My main problem with this is that if they were to try to conquer Gensokyo it will most likelty end with their deaths or worst sealed for an eternity. The reason for this as Kasen and Yukari would just screw with the Spell Card rules and kill them if it DID happen.
There's also the fact that Vaati INTENTIONALLY made Kanako FORCE Okuu to become a goddess and treat her as a FUCKING slave! That's not what happened and this is a serious problem I have with OOC characters as they make people seem not like themselves in canon. What REALLY happened was Okuu WILLINGLY accepted eating the Yagatarasu and then tried to take over the world, mind you Kanako was there but she just convinced her to do it.
The worst of this is that Kanako was going to be SPARED! WTF?! That's the worst decision you could have made! She should be killed for essentially torturing Okuu and trying to turn her into a slave AND taking over Gensokyo!
Yes while Okuu would have taken over the world but that was because she was a little insane due to getting the Yagatarasu. KANAKO on the other hand is so damn ambitious that she WILLINGLY wants to take over the world with Tenma! That's evil and she deserves death while doing harm to Okuu and essentially breaking the spell card rules.
The Incubators haven't even be touched on AT ALL! Did Vaati just THINK that they would not be a whole species that would not just sit idly by as their magical girl system just dies off? NO! They'll retaliate in a way that would make A New World Yukari actually say it is a master plan! Especially since Kyuubey won't be killed as his consciousness would live on in ANOTHER clone.
Secondly, the SAO characters. I give NO SHITS with them whatsover! Kirito is a gary stu and will always be one in my eyes! And the cast are just bland and dumb on so many levels i just DON'T CARE! Who I really care about is the Puella Magi Magica Madoka characters because AT LEAST they were character developed and I would not even care of the SAO characters died but I would be sad if like Kyoko died which happened in the anime mind you. And ESPECIALLY since saving the SAO characters just shows that Vaati FAVORS them (oh god is the favortisim is back), and SAVES them while not saving Madoka's teacher, her classmates, and her FAMILY. THEY would be better to saved compared to the horrible SAO characters.
Thirdly, the favoritism is back once again! Meiling BECOMES a Hourai Immortal! She's a stage 3 boss I know but AT LEAST give some more screen time to the ones that deserve the screen time such as Remilia, Sakuya, and Flandre so much more. ESPECIALLY since Remi and Sakuya themselves should be involved with the incident as Remilia would more or less join up and LEAD. While it is true Meiling deserves some spotlight but if she STEALS spotlight from other such as the rest of the SDM crew then it is a problem. since Meiling becomes the leader of the SCARLET team when it should be Remilia SCARLET leading as she is the LEADER of the SDM.
The SAO characters are the WORST example of this favoritism as they get a shine in the spotlight while Homura and the other magical girls just are there! There just there! They have no helping I guess and that's IT when it comes to them! Especially since I would have had Kirito be let to die in SAO for being too bland and Gary Stu like to levels of stupidity!
Once again, Marisa and Cirno steal all of the spotlight overall. With Marisa GETTING an Iron Maiden suit from Nitori with her mini-Hakkero powering it! She's a MAGICIAN not one to use technology!
Fourthly, the TERRIBLE writing.
Vaati's own OC, Vaati feels like she is just there to OPEN Koishi's third eye! Like WHAT. THE. FUCK! Vaati feels useless throughout the stories besides magic and her power isn't really helpful in all honesty. Hell. What's STOPPING Koishi from closing her eye AGAIN?! She might remember her very traumatic past and just close her eye again!
Vaati (the writer) also seems to be WAY too arrogant in his writing. He belives himself to be as good as writers who wrote Harry Potter or something! Let me break it to you, but your not on the same level or be able to write the same as the author of the series. What you should be able to do is write your own unique and original stories in forms of different media and express your own thoughts and emotions through them. Plus you Past Vaati keep believing that you are exempt from Mistakes but you aren't and this is what led to this whole mess in the first place.
There's also the fact that the TIME is WAY off in Book 2. It's been TWO years since the fact that the Outside World was DESTROYED and yet NO incidents or other stories have yet to begin?! You're telling me Vaati or past Vaati, that SOMEHOW Kanako doesn't get Okuu to eat the Yagatarasu that ends up starting THREE major incidents that DON'T happen! I'm talking about SA, UFO, and TD not even happening especially that others may have started during that two year long timestap?! By the time there is an expedition in the Outside World, the Taoists and Buddhists would ALREADY be there to explore.
Fifthly, like Book 1, the fight scenes suck BALLS.
They fight scenes always have the favorite character ALWAYS winning! Meiling was able to beat Yuugi and yes while it is true that Yuugi herself is a stage 3 boss like Meiling, that is meaningless as the oni herself is a DEVA meaning she would be able to trounce the gatekeeper like it was nothing! Hell she would be able to kill Mokou multiple times and even knock her out!
That is all that I am going to say about this horrible series that i thought was once good, but turned out to be horrible.
