Unova Part 13

On their way to Nimbasa City, the group is taking a break for lunch. Then they find Meowth unconscious in the bushes. "Is that Team Rocket's Meowth?" Golly asks.

"Something is not right." Ash says as he and Lillie heal the Pokemon. Meowth regains consciousness and is startled to be surrounded by the twerps.

"So what are you doing here?" Ash starts to demand, and Meowth yells, "I am no longer part of Team Rocket!"

He tries to run away, but he is not able to run in his condition, and almost collapses.

"What do you mean that you're not a part of Team Rocket?" Ash asks, still suspicious.

Meowth agrees to tell them the story as they saved him. He explains that he was caught while carrying out an operation, and as a result, Giovanni fired him. Jessie and James soon left him, leaving Meowth alone. With that, Meowth decided to go on his own journey. Everyone pities him, except for Ash and Lillie. Since he has read his mind and finds out he is lying.

"How about we try to have Meowth travel with us?" Iris asks, but Ash and Lillie don't think that it is a good idea.

Cilan says, "But he is currently the only Meowth in Unova, wandering alone might not be safe."

Meowth initially refuses, but Iris says that he will faint again if they leave him. Ash tells Meowth that he can travel with them on the condition that he doesn't do anything bad. Meowth agrees to these terms as he has no reason to do anything bad, seeing as he's no longer a part of Team Rocket.

Soon after, Axew is lured away and captured by an angry Scrafty. Scrafty warns them that if they don't help it in battle, they'll never see Axew again.

"Now what are we going to do now?" Lillie asks with concern, Ash says, "Scrafty is the evolved form of Scraggy, maybe we can have Scraggy help us out."

Then they decide to have Meowth and Scraggy distract Scrafty with negotiations, while Sylveon, Pikachu, Zoroark and Ash will use the illusions to safe Axew. When Scrafty discovers the deceit, it immediately challenges Ash to a battle.

Ash uses Sylveon to battle, and with the Fairy Type advantage, it defeats Scrafty with ease. Scrafty now bursts into tears and then he explains that its den was stolen by a Mandibuzz. Scrafty tried to attack Mandibuzz, but was easily defeated by her Shadow Ball.

When they go there, Scraggy decides to battle the Mandibuzz. Mandibuzz uses Pluck and dives towards Scraggy, but Scraggy manages to dodge the attack. Mandibuzz hits the head in the ground and gets stuck on the rocks. As Mandibuzz tries to get free, Scrafty commands Scraggy to use High Jump Kick, which successfully hits and defeats Mandibuzz.

Mandibuzz is also crying, as it was abandoned by her flock and she had nowhere to go, so in the end, Ash decides to help her out by having her joining the team, and the Mandibuzz agrees, returning the den to Scrafty and goes with the group.

Unova Dex Entry No.136 Vullaby: The Diapered Pokémon: Dark and Flying Type. Their wings are too tiny to allow them to fly. They guard their posteriors with bones that were gathered by Mandibuzz.

Unova Dex Entry No.137 Mandibuzz: The Bone Vulture Pokemon: Dark and Flying Type. Evolved from Vullaby at LV:54. They fly in circles around the sky. When they spot prey, they attack and carry it back to their nest with ease.

As the group continues their journey, Iris compliments Meowth's negotiation skills, to which everybody agrees. Suddenly, Iris decides to capture Meowth and throws a Poké Ball at him. The catch is unsuccessful as Meowth yells at her, claiming that he belongs to no one. He agrees to continue traveling with the group, as long as they don't try to catch him.

As they are walking on the way, they also find wild Purrloin looking at them. Cilan flinches and Ash asks, "Are you afraid of Purrloins?"

"I have a bad experience with it, so I don't like them..." Cilan says.

With Meowth translating, Purrloin tells our heroes that a good friend is trapped in a cave up ahead, and pleads with them to come and help. But it turns out to be a lie and Ash, Lillie, Golly, and even Cillan refuse to believe it, but just before the Purrloin can get away, Meowth manages to persuade the Pokemon that Ash and the others are nice and they will help it if it doesn't lie to them. In the end, Lillie captures the Pokemon.

Unova Dex Entry No.16 Purrloin: The Devious Pokemon: Dark Type. Their cute act is a ruse. They trick people and steal their valuables just to see the looks on their faces.

And that night, when they try to cook a meal for themselves, they find a Beheeyem who offers to make their wish comes true. Tired of camping in the woods, Cilan wishes for a good night's sleep in the perfect hotel, and Beheeyem leads them right to it.

At the same time, Agent Daybreak is walking by as they see a person trying to steal their Pokeballs, and she takes out a Pokemon, Duosion, to be sent into the dream world. As the room is dark, Ash can't see anything and he asks, "Who are you?"

"Don't be afraid." Daybreak turns the lights on and says, "It's me."

"Agent Daybreak? What are you doing here?" Ash asks.

"It is a long story, but you have been deceived by the Beheeyem." Daybreak says. "Did you guys find something missing?"

They realize that all the Pokemon and Pokeballs, including Meowth, all disappear. They chase Beheeyem down the hall when they become blocked off by bars. It turns out that the mastermind behind this is a man named Leon, who introduces himself as a Dream Thief, and then escapes.

"Now what are we going to do? We can't let him get away!" Ash says.

"Relax." Daybreak says, "Ash, command Duosion to strike an exit with a Psychic attack."

As they find an exit in a painting, Ash commands the Pokemon to attack the exit, and then they are back at where they are.

"There he is!" Golly says as they find Leon tying their Pokémon up. Ash has Duosion battle against Leon, but it gets defeated easily.

"Guys! There are two moons!" Lillie exclaims in shock as they look up into the sky, and Ash says, "Does that mean we are still dreaming?"

Daybreak says, "I forgot to mention...if we want to get out of the dream, we need to have everyone realize that it is a dream, Pikachu, Sylveon, Zoroark, Axew, and Meowth are still sleeping!"

Ash, Lillie, and Iris wake up the Pokemon, but Meowth doesn't want to, so Ash has Pikachu shock Meowth, until they find a sign showing the exit and uses Duosion's Psychic power.

Yet again they find themselves still in a dream when Leon appears from a UFO and flies away. Again they attempt to wake Meowth and exit the dream, but still, Meowth insists on sleeping.

Finally, after entering a dream with a giant Beheeyem, they hit Meowth with a combined Thunderbolt, Dragon Rage, and Psywave, as well as force-feed Figy Berries to him which finally causes him to stay awake long enough for them to escape.

Once out, Leon attempts to make his escape, only to be stopped by a cranky Meowth. Leon makes him an offer to become partners, but Meowth refuses after all he was just put through and shreds Leon's clothes with Fury Swipes.

After the International Police comes, Daybreak says, "This man has been escaping a lot of times when we arrived, thanks to you, we finally capture him."

"It is not a problem. I'm glad to arrest one of the evil people that even my Mother had a headache on..." Ash frowns, and he tries to return the Duosion, but Daybreak asks him to keep it, much to his surprise. But he agrees as he welcomes the Duosion.

Unova Dex Entry No.84 Solosis: The Cell Pokemon: Psychic Type. Because their bodies are enveloped in a special liquid, they are fine in any environment, no matter how severe.

Unova Dex Entry No.85 Duosion: The Mitosis Pokemoon: Psychic Type. Evolved from Solosis at LV:32. When their two divided brains think the same thoughts, their psychic power is maximized.

After a while, they also find a lost Cubchoo stranded by a powerful storm, and they soon encounter a group of Beartic and try to reunite the Cubchoo with its friends—but these Beartic don't recognize Cubchoo, and they are not happy with the intruders. As the angry Beartic shower our heroes with Ice-type attacks, a mountain ranger named Cliff and his partner Mienfoo come to the rescue. After getting them out of danger, Cliff explains the situation: there are two groups of Beartic on this mountain, and they don't get along at all. He figures out that the lost Cubchoo must belong to the other group, and they set out in search of Cubchoo's friends.

While they explore the mountain, Cliff notices that all the local Berries have been destroyed by the storm. This seems to be the reason for the Beartic feud: there's not enough food to go around, so the two groups are fighting over it! The conflict puts Meowth's negotiation skills to the test, but our heroes eventually manage to return Cubchoo to its own group, and Cliff offers to guide the hungry Beartic to a forest where lots of Berries grow. But the Cubchoo decides to go with Lillie instead, much to her delight as she wants to be an Ice Type Specialist.

Unova Dex Entry No.120 Cubchoo: The Chill Pokemon: Ice Type. Their snot is a barometer of health. When healthy, their snot is sticky and the power of their ice moves increases.

They finally reach Nimbasa City, they go to check out the Battle Subway System. They meet the bosses Ingo and Emmet, they say that there are ghost trains and they are investigating it, so Ash and his friends leave and go to the Pokemon Center.

At there, Meowth suggests that Ash and his friends take the Pokemon to the vault for rest, Iris and Cilan do it, but Ash and Lillie don't. Meowth can't persuade them, so he just let Ash and Lillie take their Pokemon with them.

"Ash, why don't you put your Pokeballs?" Iris asks.

Ash sees that Meowth isn't present, he says, "Meowth has been lying to us the whole time, saying that he left Team Rocket, that is just want to have our sympathy so he can steal our Pokemon."

"And how do you know it?" Cilan asks.

"Ash is an Arceus, he can read minds of Pokemon and humans." Lillie answers.

True to his words, Meowth shows his real colors and he is standing with Jessie and James, they are taking the Pokemon to Anville Town and hand it to Giovanni there.

Ash and his friends go to find Ingo and Emmet, they explain to them about a location on the subway system map that all subway cars must eventually cross to get through. Everyone goes to find the mail carrier car, to be able to use that to get to the location quicker. Cilan puts on his Subway Conductor hat and begins to operate the car to get them to the location. They stumble upon what looks like Team Rocket's ghost train. Ash decides to try to jump on top of the car, but it explodes gas indicating that it was a fake.

"Have you seen the ghost train yet?" Ingo asks Cilan.

"No, but there is a car heading towards us." Cilan replies.

Team Rocket's ghost train passes them by. Suddenly Ingo and Emmet see numerous more decoy cars entering the Subway System, leaving everyone unsure which one they should follow.

"If I remember correctly, Team Rocket has gone to Anville Town, we can chase them if we go to the path that leads there." Ash says.

"Good idea." Emmet says as they set off.

Ash and his friends continue to run along the tracks with Ingo and Emmet catch up to them on their tram, powered by Emmet's Eelektross. They have caught up to Team Rocket's train, where a helicopter is trying to reach the car full of Iris and Cilan's Pokemon.

When Zager attempts to catch up with them by helicopter, Ash sends out Snivy and she uses Leaf Storm to attack the chopper's main blades. Pikachu's Electro Ball attack destroys the four cargo hooks on the helicopter, forcing Zager to back off. The trio also leaves with the jet packs, Ash and his friends arrive at Anville Town safely.

Ash's group checks out the Anville Town railyard, much to Cilan's enjoyment. Lillie also participates in the town's contest, she uses Zoroark, Sandile, and Absol to win her 3rd ribbon.
