Unova Part 14
The next day at Nimbasa City, Ash and Lillie decide to have alone time, so Golly, Iris, and Cilan leave the two alone as they decide to battle at the Battle Subway. Ash and Lillie first check out the Musical Theater, Lillie wants to try out as she dresses up Pikachu, she makes him cuter, as Pikachu is taking the spotlight on stage. Ash and Lillie can hear a lot of people cheering for Pikachu in the end, much to their happiness.
"In this musical, it's not an overstatement to say that Pikachu was the lead role." "The Pokémon used Props to convey such abundant expression, just as if they were actors!"
Ash laughs, "They don't know Pikachu is a real actor in the Pokestar Studios."
"Yeah." Lillie giggles.
Before they leave, Ash has received a yellow prom for Pikachu, it is a rock star costume with Black stripes on it, and Pikachu seems to like it.
At the amusement park, Ash and Lillie meet up with two idols named Yancy and Curtis. They know each other since they have worked once at the Pokestar Studios. They talk a little and they find out that the two of them are dating.
"I'm surprised that the two of you aren't dating considering how often you are together." Yancy asks, and Ash replies, "Well, we want to wait until we go to Kalos or Vigorate Region."
"I see. Those places are romantic, I hope you have a great time, but we need to go now." Curtis says.
Then they bid farewell as neither of them wants to spoil the time being together, after that, Ash and Lillie decide to ride on the Ferris Wheel. Ash says, "Looking at the view, it is beautiful."
"It is. I hope we can have a Ferris Wheel like this in Sevestar Region." Lillie says.
"I am sure my dad can help." Ash says.
"You are kind." Lillie says as she rests her head on Ash's shoulder until the ride ends.
They arrive at the Roller Coaster, Ash says, "This used to be the gym, trainers had to ride the roller coaster to go to the battlefield."
"But this isn't the gym now. What happened?" Lillie asks.
"The Gym Leader is not only a Top Coordinator but also a Fashion Designer. Her name is Elesa." Ash says.
After they have a ride on the roller coaster, Lillie says, "Man, what an experience…"
"Believe it or not, I have a gym experience that also made the gym like a roller coaster in Hoenn." Ash says.
"The only region that I couldn't travel with you because of Team Magma..." Lillie mutters. "But what happened?"
"Pikachu get overloaded when we are facing the obstacles. He defeats the gym leader's Pokemon all with one hit." Ash laughs as Pikachu rubs his head.
"That sounds funny, but Gym Leaders that use Electric Types might have to watch out for your Pikachu of course." Lillie says. "Now that we have our time, how about we go to the gym now?"
"Sure. Maybe I can also get the designer clothes from Elesa." Ash says.
In the gym, Ash and Lillie see that Elesa is having a show. Elesa struts down the runway in the latest Unova fashion, while everyone is amazed by her beauty, even Ash and Lillie are in awe, as they had seen Valerie's shows, but this one is very different.
Elesa notices Ash and his Pikachu, she jumps down and says, "Wow, A real Pikachu, it has been a while I have seen one." Then she sees Ash and says, "And you are Ash Ketchum, the Champion of four regions. I am so glad that you have come to see my show."
"Well, it was indeed an amazing show." Ash says. "I am here to challenge the gym, I was wondering if we can have it after the show is over?"
"Of course you can." Elesa says. "How about we do it now?"
Just then, she turns to the crowd and says, "Folks, since the show is almost over, as usual, I will pick a trainer to battle me. This time, we have a really special guest, please welcome Ash Ketchum!"
When the crowd hears Ash's name, they cheer more wildly. Lillie turns to Ash and says, "Good luck, Ash."
"You can count on me." Ash says as he takes the stage.
As they are standing at the sides of the battlefield surrounded by the crowd, the referee says," The battle will be 3 on 3. Whoever loses all 3 Pokemon will lose."
"This is my first Pokemon." She tosses out a Zebstrika, and Ash says, "Electric is weak to ground, so I choose Palpitoad!"
After the Pokemon comes out, Ash commands a Mud Shot, but Zebstrika dodges the attack.
"Use Flame Charge!" Palpitoad is hit by the attack and it sent flying, but it stands back up with no signs of damage.
"Use it again!" Zebstrika uses Flame Charge once more and it hits Palpitoad once again, but he stands back up unfazed.
"Why is Zebstrika using Flame Charge? It is not going to hurt Palpitoad much..." Ash thinks, and then he commands a Hydro Pump, but he is surprised at the dodging speed by Zebstrika.
Zebstrika attacks with a Double Kick, but Palpitoad dodges. Zebstrika lands its next Double Kick on Palpitoad, before using Quick Attack to finish off Palpitoad. However, to Elesa's surprise, Palpitoad stands up.
"Now it is our chance! Use Supersonic!" Ash commands, and the attack hits Zebstrika to make it confused, and then Zebstrika is hit by a Mud Shot followed by Hydro Pump which knocks it into the wall and out for the count.
"Lillie!" Golly, Iris, and Cilan have come to meet them. "Do we miss anything?" Cilan asks.
"Ash is just having his gym battle, he defeats Zebstrika already." Lillie says.
"Well, Brother is going to win this in the end." Golly says.
Elesa sends out Emolga next, Palpitoad starts with a Supersonic, but Emolga uses Acrobatics to dodge and then attacks Palpitoad. Ash tells Palpitoad to try again, but Emolga counters using Attract, which works, revealing the two to be opposite genders, and makes Palpitoad dizzy.
"I was just afraid that happened...since I have an Emolga who likes to do that as well... but it is a good thing that Electric moves won't work on Palpitoad." Ash says.
"Emolga doesn't only use Electric moves." Elesa replies. "Use Aerial Ace!"
Ash widens his eyes in surprise that her Emolga learned Aerial Ace, and the strike causes Palpitoad to get knocked out.
"Electric and Flying Type...which means Ground Type is not going to hit the Pokemon unless I use Smack Down...which I can just go for Boldore for that..." Ash thinks as he looks at Pikachu, who looks fired up to battle, and he says, "But because of the Flying Type. The Electric Type becomes Neutral effective against Emolga. I use Pikachu."
Pikachu jumps into the stage, and he starts with an Electro Ball, but Emolga counters with her own Electro Ball, causing both Electro Balls to cancel each other out. Pikachu uses Quick Attack and sends Emolga into the wall, knocking her out.
"Well done, Ash. You have defeated my two Pokemon. But now I should send her out." Elesa says as the crowd starts to cheer, as they can see the Electric Queen on stage.
"What is the Electric Queen?" Golly asks in confusion.
"I don't know, but something tells me that it is going to be Ash's hard time..." Iris says.
And then she sends out the final Pokemon, an Eelektross, and Ash asks, "That is the Electric Queen?"
Deep down inside, he has been trying to find this Pokemon, as it doesn't have any type of weakness because of its Levitate ability.
"Use Acid!" Pikachu gets hit by the Poison attack, and it eventually faints, so Ash sends out Roggenrola as his last Pokemon.
"Use Smack Down!" Ash commands, and the attack causes the Levitating Pokemon to fall to the ground, then it tries to use Flash Cannon, but Eelektross dodges the attack. Not only that, Eelektross can learn Giga Drain, so whenever it takes damage, it just leeches the get back its health.
Just then, Roggenrola starts to evolve, and it learns Rock Blast, knocking out the Eelektross in the end.
Unova Dex Entry No.32 Boldore: The Ore Pokemon: Rock Type. Evolved from Roggenrola at LV:25. When it is healthy, its core sticks out. Always facing the same way, it swiftly moves front to back and left to right.
"Congratulations, Ash. And thank you for having a nice battle, won't everyone agree?" Elesa asks, even though the crowd is sad that she lost, but they all cheer for both of them. Elesa says, "This is the Bolt Badge, you earn it."
Ash takes the badge and puts it away, and then he also goes down the stage to let Elesa finish her show.
Once the show is over, Ash is now at her store alone, Ash asks, "Elesa, is it possible that I can buy some clothes?"
"Sure, but our clothes are female only, why do want it?" Elesa asks.
"Well, I have 6 sisters, so I can give them each one dress."
"I see. You really are a considerate person." Elesa says with a nod.
And then Ash purchased seven dresses before getting back to Pokemon Center to find others. Lillie says, "Wow, you purchased a lot..."
"Well, I want to give it to my sisters, and also one for you." Ash says as he gives Golly and Lillie each one of the dresses, and the two females are so happy that they hug Ash really hard.
Iris says, "Wow, of all the time I thought he is a kid."
Cilan says, "Well, I think we have more to learn."
After that, they decide to continue train their Pokemon, as Lillie and Ash does a Mock Trade to evolve Boldore into Gigalith, and Lillie also uses the Dusk Stone to evolve Lampent into a Chandelure.
Unova Dex Entry No.33 Gigalith: The Compressed Pokemon: Rock Type. Evolved from Boldore by Trading. The solar rays it absorbs are processed in its energy core and fired as a ball of light.
Unova Dex Entry No.116 Chandelure: The Luring Pokemon: Ghost and Fire Type. Evolved from Lampent with a Dusk Stone. The spirits burned up in its ominous flame lose their way and wander this world forever.
The next day, they have to wait as the Driftveil Bridge is under repair, so Ash and Lillie decide to battle Ingo and Emmet in the Battle Subway. Both of them are using Chandelure and Eelektross, while Ash and Lillie go for Gigalith and Darumaka to battle. And Darumaka evolves when battling against them.
Unova Dex Entry No.62 Darmanitan: The Blazing Pokemon: Fire Type. Evolved from Darumaka at LV:35. When one is injured in a fierce battle, it hardens into a stone-like form. Then it meditates and sharpens its mind.
As for Golly and the others, who have already tried out the Battle Subway yesterday, they found a lost Axew and they help her brought back to its trainer.
After entering Route 5, they notice a fair, and Cilan says, "This is the Performers Square, an area famous for musicians and dancers."
"That sure is something." Lillie says.
They also met Trip again, who isn't interested in them and he says, "Oh, it is you again."
"What are you doing here?" Iris asks.
"I hear that Alder is here." Trip says. "I want to battle him."
"Seriously? Maybe we can meet Alder, too." Lillie says.
"Yeah. I can't wait to have a battle with him again." Ash says.
"You have battled him once?" Trip asks.
"Well, it is not like a battle, since he is sleeping in the middle of the battle."
"He surely does that." Iris says with a sigh.
They see Alder who is busy trying to flirt with Officer Jenny. Though Jenny stands her ground and pulls out some handcuffs as she prepares to arrest him, so Alder jumps off and Jenny drives away.
"Mr. Alder, did you remember me?" Trip asks the person, who just thinks for a while and says, "I don't think I remember your name, but I think I remember you. And the same goes for Ash, Lillie, and Iris here. How have you been?"
"We're doing great." Ash says.
Trip demands a battle with him, and Alder agrees to battle him. Alder sends out Boffalant while Trip sends out Serperior as the battle is being refereed by Ash, who volunteers to help.
The battle between Alder's Bouffalant and Trip's Serperior begins with Solar Beam, Alder tells Bouffalant to rush toward Serperior, but Solar Beam is dispelled upon striking Bouffalant.
"So the ability is Sap Sipper…" Trip says.
"That is right, Grass Type attacks will strengthen my Boffualant's attack power. And now Boffalant is unstoppable at this point." Alder says.
"I will show you that I am stronger than you!" Trip says.
"You have to take your best shot, not proving it." Alder comments.
Frustrated, Trip orders Dragon Tail, which hits Bouffalant's afro, but it is once again unfazed.
"Now show me what else you have got." Alder says.
Serperior uses Leer to lower Bouffalant's defense, then jumps into the air and attacks with Dragon Tail. In his mind, Trip states that his strategy was to purposely activate Sap Sipper so that Alder and Bouffalant would let their guard down. Though Serperior is airborne, Dragon Tail strategically hits Bouffalant's unprotected underside, knocking it away. However, Bouffalant lands on its feet, surprisingly unscathed by the attacks.
"Usually, your power, speed, and strategy can easily take out any normal Pokemon. But not me." Alder says.
Alder orders Head Charge and Bouffalant charges forward. Trip desperately tells Serperior to dodge, but Serperior is struck and knocked out, giving Alder the win.
"I lost…" Trip says. "What have I done wrong?"
Alder congratulates his Bouffalant as it happily licks his face. He turns to him and says, " You haven't done anything wrong, but tell me, do you care about your Serperior?"
Trip nods as Serperior nuzzle him.
"Then if you truly feel the bond, and learn your past mistakes, you can show your Serperior's true strength." Alder says.
Trip nods and asks if they can battle again, Alder nods. After that, he leaves the group, while Alder has asked the group to have lunch with him.
"So what have you been on your journeys for?" Alder asks, and Ash says, "It is obvious, we are going to be Pokemon Masters."
"Then what about after you reach your goals?" Alder asks, "And how about how you will reach your goal?"
Lillie says, "That is to become stronger and stronger."
"Are you sure it is going to be that simple?" Alder asks, and they are in deep thoughts.
Nurse Joy runs in and tells them there's a wild Gigalith on a rampage through Performers Square. They run over to find everybody running away from the Gigalith, and Officer Jenny struggling to contain the situation.
"Stay back and let us handle this." Alder says as he sends out his Bouffalant.
He looks at the Gigalith and realizes it's quite agitated, so he offers it an apple. Gigalith starts running toward Alder, but he just stands there, sure it will stop before running into him. It doesn't, and Alder ends up on a pillar.
"I guess it is up to us..." Ash says as they try to interfere, but Bouffalant steps in front of it. Alder says, "I figured out Gigalith's problem."
He steps in front of it and braces himself. Gigalith charges toward him, but he catches it and flips it over. Alder bends over and pulls a nail out of Gigalith's foot. Alder sprays a Super Potion on Gigalith's foot and gives it a stone to eat. It flips itself back over, making it much happier.
Officer Jenny still insists on arresting Gigalith for property damage. Alder tries to reason with her, but then a pillar starts to topple right on top of Jenny. Gigalith leaps into action, bearing the brunt of the pillar and rescuing Officer Jenny in the process. At this, Jenny agrees to not arrest Gigalith, and Alder sends it on its way.
"So if Strength is not required to reach a goal, what is it?" Ash asks.
"Friendship between humans and Pokmeon is the most important key to reach your goals." Alder replies, and the others nod in agreement, captivated by the thought, after that, they bid farewell to the Former Champion as they leave.
As they continue their journey, Lillie captures a Maractus as it has a hard time dancing, and both Ash and Lillie agree to help her out as they have been practicing a lot with the Contest moves.
Unova Dex Entry No.63 Maractus: The Cactus Pokemon: Grass Type. When it moves rhythmically, it makes a sound similar to maracas, making the surprised Pokémon flee.
And while training, Ash evolves his Deering into Sawsbuck. Much to their surprise, the Sawsbuck can change its forms whenever he wants.
"Wow, this is the first time I see the Sawsbuck that can change forms regardless of the season." Iris says.
"Indeed, this Sawsbuck is a special one." Cilan says.
Unova Dex Entry No.93 Sawsbuck: The Season Pokemon: Normal and Grass Type. Evolved from Deerling at LV:34. They migrate according to seasons, so some people call Sawsbuck the harbingers of spring.
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, Ash gets his fifth Gym Badge and also some new Pokemon in the team, as well as meeting the former Champion Alder, as Iris is the current Champion in this story. I hope you like it.
