Kagome was concerned when Inuyasha returned with Sesshoumaru draped against his back. Had the taiyoukai suffered a set-back? But no. His stripes were a calm blue. And Inuyasha carried himself—and Sesshoumaru—with new confidence.
"No trouble." Skipping past further news and niceties, Inuyasha crouched to settle Sesshoumaru, then suggested hunting down breakfast.
While he and Kohaku made plans, Kagome glimpsed a peeved and petulent green.
What could be making Sesshoumaru uneasy?
Was he in pain, after all?
Leaving Kohaku's side, she bent to ask Sesshoumaru if he needed anything. But before she could, he caught her wrist. And tugged.
