Chapter 6 - Prologue?
Trusting a devil was my first mistake. Hoping to outsmart and corner one?
That was me having my head up my own arse.
I might as well give you a recap of what happened as I, once again, sit here in the endless void where I was first granted The System.
After I saved and began the second official day in the world. I had started my power trip.
I was practically immortal. I had to save and reload and I could thus cheat the system, the game, and the world. What was there to be afraid of?
Anything that killed me would result in a reload and another try.
This was my true belief until I had gone to my own slaughter unknowingly.
The wedding was done the next day and so was I.
Rias took me to the Gremory mansion where we were to meet my new family and her parents, instead, I found myself alone in a forest as I walked out of the teleportation circle.
This place radiated power to a scale I had no comparison to. Logic would dictate that I Reload and continue again but more cautious this time but I was on an all-time high and wanted to know what was happening and THEN reload. This would after all let me know why I was teleported there.
Big mistake.
I was dead and in the void again and in spectating mode. Turns out, Sona already had my blood samples with her from the time I had passed out. After the marriage, there was no need for me. I was 'free' and so I had no reason to be seen around in the underworld. Plus, since they already had my blood they could sign official documents with blood ink to give themselves the right to govern their own house in my stead. Blood magic was illegal but who would be able to call them on it?
That's not all though, Blood magic is a versatile Magic art for a reason. Sona and Rias would later be able to transform into a male version of themselves and thus impregnate the other except in this case the Male would be using my blood/essence.
After a child is born, the 'free' husband, otherwise known as me, could face a tragic accident.
Now for how I died. It was Lucifer also known as Sirzecks Gremory. Apparently, the power of destruction isn't just a name. One zap from a simple POD spell and not even my soul was left and this happened so fast that I didn't even notice it happening. You can't reload when your soul, which holds the gamer power, is made non-existent.
That brought me out of my power trip fast enough. With the shitty system I had, I probably should have seen this happening sooner or later. Whether by my own folly or by the buggy systems.
Now….now I wait again in this realm beyond time for an eternity which is no more than the present.
'Sigh'

Dark, Depraved, and Destructive magic is what the Black family specializes in. Taurus was the love child of a rather kind and homely muggle and the supposed Black prince Regulus Black. Taurus the ambitious will either take his place at the top or die trying.

All dark magics are derived from the Black Magics, after all, Black Magic is the only evil magic referred to in religious texts.
+15% XP when Learning The Dark Arts or Forbidden Magics.
-50% when learning to purifying or Healing magics
[Cursed Blood] PASSIVE
Over the millennia, the blacks have been cursed and cured of magics of all sorts. This has led to eventual immunity to non-consented Blood Magics and slight tolerance to all curses.
+15% Defence against Curses.

+Metamorph Ability is unlockable.
-Slight issues with mental stability.

Klare Mikaelson
A child of a miracle. Shame she was born to a muggle whore. Daughter to the original vampire, Vlad von Dracula, Klare had quickly found herself alone as her mother was too busy with clients and too exhausted after clients. Klare knew of magic as she had somehow managed to find a way to influence her mother to care more about her than whoring. On her eleventh birthday, she found the world she knew she belonged to.

Wow, this already seems better than the previous one. Then again that shouldn't really be a benchmark.
Also, I like that they have offered male and female characters this time. Not that it matters to me. I was always a fanboy of the house of black so even if the others were 1000 times better I would still go with Taurus. Thankfully they all seem to have their own playstyle and Pros and Cons so it was hard to say which is better.
As I pick my character and go to proceed I get a notification.

Reading through them I realize that was a hint to the player and just proceed for now. I'll think about that later. I wanna get started already.
"Mister Black, Are you ok?" An old man with a long white beard asks me.
It takes a second for me to take everything in and understand what was happening around me.
Professor Dumbledore sat there on the sofa opposite me, with the famed letter of acceptance to Hogwarts in his hands.
"Ah. Yes, Professor, I am fine. Just a bit astounded is all." I reply to him with my best shy look.
He seemed to have bought it or hasn't and is just letting me entertain the thought that he has. Wait...what am I saying?
Doesn't matter.
He seems to be talking again, better pay attention.
"YAdda yaDDA!" the old man spoke but this was all I heard. He seems to be rather entranced by his own voice, doesn't he?
"TAURUS!" mother shouted at me. Seeing no reason for her shouting at me, I gave her a questioning look. Before anything else though, Dumbledore speaks up.
"Ah hahaha...my apology, young man. I wasn't speaking so much that I was entranced by my own voice.`` His voice sounded more amused than offended. That alone may have saved me from my mother's lecturing. One look at her tells me that I will not be going to bed without at least 2 to 3 lectures from her.
Don't get me wrong. There seems to be a deep love for her within me for her, perhaps from the character I had taken over from. She had a certain importance to me. Even in my relationships tab, she was labeled as The Anchor to my Emotions. Which further meant that I would lose myself further to insanity should anything happen to her.
She was my weakness and I will make sure no one knows it or no one dares to exploit it.
Coming out of my sudden grim thoughts I see that Professor Dumbledore had been talking to my mother and handed her a note with a name on it.
Soon after he had left telling me that a teacher will come to collect me in three weeks' time to go diagonally to do my Hogwarts shopping.
Sigh."What am I going to do with you?" my mother asks me rather affectionately. Seems she was already accustomed to my bouts of 'mental instability.
The following lecture that I was expecting never came and was replaced by a hug. "I love you, Rus! But I want you to remember one thing. In life, there are easy choices and Hard choices, make the ones that let you live without regret. Whether it be a hard choice or easy, good or bad in the end it's all relative to the person and situation. What matters at the end is whether you are happy with yourself or not." That was a rather unexpected lesson from my mother and the somber tone was rarely ever used by her.
"I am going to make a choice now, Taurus. With which I can live without regret." The more she spoke the more uncomfortable I felt at the foreboding words.
"I promised your father I would never speak of this before you finished Hogwarts but…." she trails off.
"When one does not know what it is, then it is something. When one knows what it is, then it is nothing." she breathes out in one breath.
"..." I already know the answer, I'm just confused. Was this my father's way of leading me if I searched further into his demise?
"Do you know the answer?" She asked me nervously. It must have been a burden on her for a while now.
"I do," I reply ambiguously. Hoping that mother would drop it here and consider this matter done.
All was in vain as she asked me to inform her and as to what I know.
"A riddle. That the answer and the Clue" I try again to dissuade her from asking what may lead her to be involved in a mess she is not built for.
"That was meant to be the clue to your father's killer. That was the last thing he told me to help him with. He wanted me to give you this riddle and if you got the answer correct then you would be able to find your fathers murdered. I….I failed to convince your father not to go on tha..that day but he didn't listen" Mother sobbed.
Crying people were beyond me but I knew I had to come clean here.
"I will find him and I already have a clue. Plus I have 7 years in magical school and even after that I will have my father's old family to help me with the investigation. Like you said mother, ``Easy or hard I will make all the choices needed to find the killer." Making a promise to her.

For now, I will help my mother to bed and sleep. I do need to learn my new system and check my character more thoroughly tomorrow.
A/N: I was planning to go even slower in the DXD world as it was meant to quickly turn into the main character's personal Hell and eventually humble him, then lead him to depression and lack of confidence. This was meant to be some sort of character development arc where he goes from overconfident to loser then eventually over the next jump, he starts to gain that confidence back and earns power he knows the limits off and is less likely to have a power trip.
However, it seems that the prologue would be too long that way so I have tried to change and progress the story. Sorry if it seemed rushed at points but at some point, even I realized that the story was going nowhere fast and that was bad. Hopefully, now I can start going with this story where I want and keep it somewhat paced. Again, this story was inspired by The Sorcerer's Ambition by The Dark Wolf Shiro. therefore, you can expect some crossover stuff and Dark themes.
