Mikoto shook her head. "No, I only knew that Naruto confessed to her sometime when he was 17. She needed someone to talk to about it and asked if I kept it a secret until she came to a decision on what to do."
Hearing this isn't surprising since Kushina and Mikoto have always been the closest of friends.
Speaking of Kushina, she just kept quiet until it was for for her to talk again.

Over the last year however, the redhead wanted Hinata to stay away from Naruto more than anything. If there is one person who possibly had the best chance of taking Naruto away from here during that time. It was certainly Hinata Hyuga.
Luckily for Kushina, Naruto never thought of Hinata in the way. If anything he always thought it was weird how she tends to pass out around him from the simplest of things. It's not as bad as it was when they were kids. But it still happens from time to time. She's a good friend to him, nothing more nothing less.
Though Kushina knows that the Hyuga heiress will make her move against her son soon. If she's anything like her father, the girl will be persistent in taking Naruto away from her.
"She's going to try to take him from me." The redhead stated.

Kushina shook her head. "No, it won't be that simple. For someone who has had their eyes and heart set on one person for that long. They won't give up easily. I just hope it doesn't get to that point, otherwise me and her are going to have problems. I will not hesitate to put her in her place if it comes down to it."

"Naruto-kun, please go out with me!" Hinata asked her longtime crush.
'I did it! I finally asked him, he won't reject me. It's Naruto-kun, he's too nice for that.' The Hyuga heiress thought to herself.
This all started when she saw Naruto walking around town. For years on years she's forced herself to build up the courage to ask him out only to fail every time she's gotten an opportunity. When she woke up this morning, Hinata never thought she would be confessing. Especially when she's hardly seen Naruto around in the last couple of weeks. But seeing Naruto walking by himself. The opportunity was too good to pass up.
Hinata knows that Naruto isn't the fondest of her family, mainly her father in particular. Due to some of the actions of her father during his relationship with Kushina. It's pretty understandable as to why the blond feels the way he does. Even Hinata knows of how protective Naruto is over his mother. It's one of his most endearing traits.
But her father's actions have nothing to do with her and Naruto knows that. Which is why he'll date her. It's not like he's dating anyone else right? Sakura is still stuck on Sasuke, as pathetic as that is. Sasuke is dating Karin. They've been together for 3 years now. Kiba and Shino are dating. Ino and Sai, Choji and Karui. Neji, Lee and Tenten all are in a relationship with somebody. Even Shikamaru is in a relationship with Temari.
In Hinata's mind, this means Naruto shouldn't be dating anyone but her. And if she finds out he is taken which she highly doubts. Hinata will make sure that whoever he's dating knows that Naruto is hers and hers alone.
Unfortunately for the heiress, she never realized that she never had a chance with her longtime crush.
"I'm sorry Hinata but I'm not interested in you that way. You're a nice friend and all, though I only see you as that, just a friend. Not to mention you have a habit of passing out when you're around me for too long. It would be wrong of me to accept your feelings when I know I don't feel the same for you. Truthfully he's genuinely surprised by Hinata's confession. Now when he thinks about it, he should've seen it coming. All the signs were there. He's pretty shocked that he never noticed them with Hinata considering his experience dealing with women.
He won't admit to Hinata, but he wants absolutely nothing to do with the Hyuga clan. Nothing against her, Hanabi and Neji, however he really doesn't like Hiashi Hyuga. Stupid bastard thinks too highly of himself. As well as being a shitty boyfriend to his mother back when they used to date. Oh Naruto still remembers the time he kicked Hiashi's ass. One day Naruto had overheard Kushina and Hiashi arguing. Apparently Hiashi was getting real fed up with his mother not letting him have sex with her. During that argument Hiashi not only threatened Kushina, but he also disrespected her by calling her a bitch. While Naruto didn't know what the argument was about at that point. He didn't give a fuck and showed Hiashi the consequences of his actions. If it wasn't for Kushina yelling at him to stop, Naruto would've put Hiashi in the hospital for longer than just two days.
The bastard didn't press any charges because he knew he fucked up. His situation would have only gotten worse in the end.
Naruto really wanted to go home back to Kushina. He had only left to go buy her a ring and some flowers as a surprise. The ring is just a gift he wanted to give her, he was actually coming from a jewelry store making his way to Ino's family flower shop before Hinata stopped him. Which is only three blocks away from where he's standing.
'Please don't cry, please don't cry, please don't fucking cry.' He internally begged.
"I-I-I s-see…" Voiced a heartbroken Hinata. She's in tears just as Naruto feared.
'FUCK!' He cursed.
What the hell could he even say? It's not like his fault this is even happening. He just hopes nobody starts looking at them. This is not the time to be drawing unnecessary attention.
The blond released a sigh. "Look Hinata, I'm so-"
Hinata cut him off mid sentence. "But I won't give up! We may can't be together right now, Naruto-kun. But I swear on my name as a Hyuga that we will be together and raise a family with each other some day! So whoever it is you are dating, I will make sure they know that they are only a temporary for now."
Naruto could only look at her with an 'what the fuck?' expression because how else would one describe a situation like this?
"Are you delusional? Did you not just hear what I said?" Naruto asked.
"No I'm far from delusional, I heard you just fine. Like I said we will be together one day Naruto. Which is why I don't accept your rejection." Hinata replied with a smile. A smile that freaked Naruto the hell out.
"...I don't think it works that way Hinata, regardless of what you are saying. We won't be together." Naruto told her in a firm tone.
Hinata giggled. "You'll see Naruto-kun, me and you are destined for each other." She started to walk away. "I'll see you around Naruto-kun."
Too bad the delusional girl didn't realize Naruto had been secretly recording this conversation on his phone. Not that he knew that yet since it happened completely by accident.
"What..the..fuck? Did that really just happen?" Naruto asked himself as he took out his phone.
His eyes widened in surprise. 'Wait did that whole conversation get recorded?!' He pressed the screen to stop his phone from recording.
Shaking his head, he continued his walk to the flower shop. He played the recording over to make sure that the conversation between him and Hinata really just happened. For all he knew he could've been hallucinating as doubtful as that is.
Thankfully he wasn't hallucinating, sadly that conversation actually took place.
'Well at least I have legit proof so that way no one can say that I'm lying. But what the hell am I supposed to do? I don't want anything bad to happen to Hinata, though if mom hears about this…"
He shuddered at what Kushina would do to Hinata. If there's a woman you don't cross, it's definitely Kushina Uzumaki. She will find a way to make you pay.
'I could get a restraining order on her, still how long will that work for? Ugh, maybe Hanabi and Neji can help me? Nah never mind they won't go against family, which I can respect. Hmmm I'll tell mom about it but if the situation gets any worse than I'll let her handle it.' Naruto decided.
Just as he finished his thoughts, he entered the Yamanaka flower shop.
Ino looked up and said her usual greeting. "Welcome to the Yamanaka flow-oh it's just you Naruto. What's up? Need more flowers for your mother?"

Ino rolled her eyes and returned the grin. "It's not like you buy flowers for anybody else unless it's a special occasion. You spoil Kushina-san to the point where you make married women jealous of her." She teased him.
Naruto shrugged. "What can I say? There's no one in my life more important than her."
"Aww how sweet, so the usual set?"
"No, I'm going to keep it simple this time. A single rose should do the trick."
Ino gave her fellow blond a puzzled look before she gasped a moment later. Her face morphed from a shocked expression to a sly smirk. "Well, well so you finally did it huh Naruto? Took you two long enough."
"Did what exactly?" 'Please don't tell me she's thinking I really got this for Hinata.' He internally groaned in annoyance.
"Don't play dumb with me, you would have to be blind to not notice the chemistry between you and Kushina-san. I'm just surprised it took you guys this long to actually get together." Ino poked his chest.
'Oh...well at least she's not talking about Hinata. It's no point in denying it if she already knows.' "Ok you're right, we are a couple now. But please keep this to yourself Ino. If my mother wants to tell people that's fine, however I don't see a reason for me to share that kind of information with you guys, no offense." He replied.
Ino waved him off. "None taken, this isn't exactly something you share with just anybody. I won't go saying anything, I have to wonder though. Does Sasuke or Sakura know yet?"
Naruto shook his head. "No, I haven't mentioned it to anyone yet. Sasuke won't care as long as I'm happy. Sakura might try to kick my ass for being perverted because of how embarrassed she might be to hear the news. But she won't end our friendship over it, she'll be happy for me in the end. I'm more worried about Tsunade's reaction because I really don't want my ass kicked by her again. She's really strong dattebayo."
"There's no way Tsunade-san will reject you guys." Ino retorted.
"I didn't say that, trust me I know that better than you. Still doesn't mean she won't beat the shit out of me though. Hopefully Jiraiya is around at the time so he can take the beating for me instead. Maybe Tsunade will blame him for making me a pervert."
Ino snorted at that. "With your luck, it may work out for you." She went to go grab a rose for Naruto.
While she was gone, he wondered if he should tell her about what happened with Hinata. Maybe Ino can offer some insight?

After hearing the story from Naruto and listening to the video recording herself. Ino wondered what the hell is wrong with Hinata? That kind of behavior is far from healthy. More importantly, why does she even still have a crush on Naruto? Literally they hardly hangout like EVER. How does Ino know this? Simple, her and Naruto have been close friends since they were kids. They are basically family to one another. So she would know if Naruto had the slightest of feelings for Hinata.
"And you say this happened before you arrived here?"
Naruto nodded. "Yeah she caught me about three blocks away from here. What should I do Ino?" He asked his longtime friend.
"Pray to kami that Kushina-san doesn't toss her around like a rag doll with a broken nose and possibly worst." Ino kept it honest.

Ino sighed, not that she could blame Naruto for his actions. She wholeheartedly agreed with him, it's just that sometimes he can act a little reckless when it comes to somebody doing anything negative to Kushina.
"Anyways back to Hinata, if I were you I wouldn't worry about it until she actually does something. Keep the video and tell your mother what happened. Hopefully Hinata won't be stupid and test her luck."
"I think it's too late for that, she already tested it."

'What a weird day.' Naruto thought to himself while walking inside of his home.
Going down the hallway, he saw that his mother was sitting on the couch in the living room. The tv is on though she's not watching it. He can see she's more focused on whatever she's knitting in her lap. Whatever she's knitting, it's made up of orange yarn. Sitting down next to her. "Sorry I would've been here sooner but some unexpected events came up. Here I bought you this rose from Ino's family shop while I was out." He handed her the wrapped rose.
Taking the rose, Kushina kissed him on the lips for a solid minute before pulling away. "Thank you, you're such a sweetheart ya know?"
Naruto kissed her back. "I've been told." He smirked.
"So what happened while you were out?" Kushina asked.
She became confused when her son started chuckling sheepishly. "Naruto?" She raised an eyebrow.
Sighing. "Well…it all started when.." He told her what took place with Hinata and showed her the same video he showed Ino.

Naruto flinched slightly at the sound. After explaining everything to his mother, that was the sound she made. The sound of her knitting needles snapping in her hand from her anger. If that wasn't proof enough that she's pissed. Her hair is flowing in her infamous nine-tails. A key sign of her unleashing the red hot habanero onto her target.
"Ummm mom?"

"Calm down mom, she's facing a losing battle that she doesn't want to accept that she lost already. It's not worth your time. As long as she doesn't try anything else, for now let's not worry about it. Ino said to keep the video in case she does try something." Naruto tried to get her to relax.
Thinking on what her son just said, it did help her calm down a lot. Still it's odd how she knows has to watch out for Hinata when she and her friends were just talking about the girl earlier today.
"Fine but she gets one time, one time to fuck up." Kushina stated.

Dinner went by smoothly, now the blond is relaxing in a nice hot bath. He was originally going to take a quick shower then decided against it at the last second. In his hands he's fiddling with the ring box that contains the ring he bought for his mother earlier.
"I wonder when should I give it to her?" He asked himself.
He had thought about giving it to her during dinner, sadly the right moment never seemed to present itself. His next best choice is to do it once he gets out of here. Why is he even thinking so hard about this? He only got it for her as a gift, not a special occasion.
