When the first sunray fell through the window and reached her face, Astrea slowly started to wake up. She blinked a few times and stretched herself in her bed while moaning lightly. Like in the past, she was always awake very early to greet the new day. Stretching her arms over her head, Astrea yawned profusely, she brought her hands together, tensed up the muscles in her body and shuddered lightly when her body awoke fully. That was something that no one was allowed to see, not even Ryu. Acting laid back like that was something that Astrea would only do when she was alone in her room.
After finishing her little morning exercise, Astrea pulled back her blanket and wriggled her toes, giggling. She wore a long, white nightgown that sat loosely, when the goddess of justice was alone in her bedroom, she allowed herself to be a bit laid back. A pair of fluffy slippers stood right next to her bed, it was one of her favorite items and a gift from Ryu to Astrea´s "birthday". It was something that her Familia did for her every year back in the days, it wasn´t really a birthday since Astrea was a goddess, but they celebrated the date when she descended from heaven.
And since Ryu and Astrea had found back together...thanks to a certain, white haired young man...Ryu gifted her goddess again small things on her "birthday" on behalf of the Familia. Astrea had cried from happiness when Ryu gave her the slippers...it meant so much to her to be reminded of the good times with her children. Sometimes...not so much that it deserved to be called often...Astrea sat in her room with the picture of her Familia in her hands, and cried.
It started with a smile when she looked at the picture, moving along a thumb over the faces of her children. She would remember funny, lovely or even sad moments with her children...but in the end she cried every time. Not just from sadness about losing them, but also out of pride for what they had did, that they stood upright to their ideals to the very end and sacrificed their lives to save their "young one".
"I´m so proud of all of you...I´m sure your souls will return to earth some day...I will look for you...my daughters."
At least once a month there was a day where Astrea cried for her children, since she returned to Orario, Ryu was often at her side and they did it together. There was a small shrine in the garden for her children and Astrea placed fresh flowers every few days at it, together with Ryu. When they did that for the first time, goddess and mortal child had cried endlessly together...it was the first time they could mourn the death of their loved ones together. Astrea was really happy to have at least Ryu...and Orario.
The laughter of people...of children...in Orario was the legacy of her deceased children and Astrea swore together with Ryu to protect it.
For now Astrea lived in the Hestia Mansion since her old home was gone, but she worked on getting the Stardust Garden back. After a long talk with Ryu, Astrea decided to look in the city for future, new members for the Familia. Women that would remember what the first generation of the Astrea Familia had done and protect the peace and justice in Orario. But Astrea wasn´t hasty and took her time to look around, so far she had only found one possible candidate but she would take her time.
Ryu had started to intensify her training and went into the dungeon together some times with Bell and his party.
After Astrea had returned to Orario it was thanks to a certain apocalyptic event where Bell and Ryu had together fought against a giant black beast, that Ryu had been forgiven what she had done and was redeemed. The blacklisting was gone and Ryu was and official adventurer again...but only part times. Her work at the pub was everything to her...and she would never give it up. But that was fine with Astrea, she loved to watch how Ryu worked...especially since she found it was rather cute seeing her dressed like that. And Ryu smiled more often now in her work at the pub...even more when her goddess was there as a guest. But Astrea giggled every time when some men tried to hit on her...especially drunk adventurers...and Ryu was instantly there...very overprotective.
All in all the life in Orario was good these days, sometimes harsh, but not to the extent of the dark days. Sometimes Ryu came to the Mansion after work and stayed for the night...either with Bell or with Astrea. Ryu was way more shy to sleep together with her goddess in a bed than she was to do that with Bell...well Bell and Ryu were married. In the old days, Astrea had sometimes slept side by side with one of her children...mostly Alise.
From Alise, Astrea had took over a bad habbit...bad for Ryu.
When Astrea woke up in the morning of the first day she had slept side by side with Ryu...she found a very embarrassed Ryu when she opened her eyes. Somehow in the night, Astrea had moved over and hugged Ryu...used her like a living body pillow.
Now Astrea could understand why Alise had done that in the past with Ryu or Astrea...it felt really good to hug someone...and the blushing Ryu was way too cute.

Astrea walked to the curtains that were nearly closed and pulled them away, after binding the curtains to the side, she opened the window wide to let in some fresh air. A small bird sat on the windowsill and chirped, Astrea giggled, birds often came here...as if they were sensing that the goddess wouldn´t harm them.
"So...time to change."
Since Astrea didn´t had a job in the city for now, she helped with the housework. She took off her nightgown, the only possible obersvers were the birds, and put on her usual clothes. There was only one living person who had ever seen Astrea without clothes and that was Ryu when they had bathed together. It had taken a lot of persuasion to bring Ryu so far...because Astrea missed to bath together with a child of her.
Of course there was someone who had tried that in heaven...but Hermes was punished for his tries more time than once. And Ryu said she would even punch a god if he dared to peek on her "mother".
Not one male had ever seen Astrea undressed...and no one would ever...except...maybe...a...certain...young man.

Astrea still wasn´t used to these new feelings...it had taken a while after she returned to Orario together with Bell and Ryu...but Astrea had noticed that she...saw Bell in a special light. She didn´t understood that at first herself...
but Astrea had...started to like Bell...to...love him. And not in a way a goddess loved a mortal...or a "mother" the husband of her "daughter"...no...Astrea loved Bell...like a woman did a man.
When she finally discovered what her feelings meant...it was the first time she ever felt like that...Astrea was...depressed.
Was she allowed to feel like this? Especially having feelings for this special young man. Over time, Ryu noticed that something was wrong with Astrea..and that she acted weird when she was nearby Bell. It was a long talk they had until Astrea finally admitted to Ryu that she had feelings for Bell.
"Ryu...I´m...sorry...I...shouldn´t...feel...like this..."
Ryu had looked at her goddess and...smiled. "But..why?"
"I mean...he is your...husband and..."
"And the husband of a few more...you know that."

Ryu had placed her hand on that of her goddess. "You are my goddess and mother, lady Astrea...but you deserve to fall in love. And why would I be mad that you love Bell?"
Her eyes widened when she saw how fiercly Astrea blushed by her words.
"D-D-Don´t say that so loud...and openly..."
Seeing her goddess abashed and fidgeting like a young girl in love...was precious even for Ryu.

After the talk, Astrea felt much much better and decided to...well she wanted to wait at first. But for once...Ryu did something she never had before...she gave Bell some hints. Not really surprisingly for Ryu, since she knew Bell well enough, she discovered soon that he saw Astrea also like a woman. It made her happy that her goddess was happy...even more when Astrea and Bell talked alone for a while. To her bad luck, Ryu wanted to check on her goddess if everything was okay with her and she thought that Bell was in his room again...so she silently opened the door after getting no answer to her soft knocks...and saw Astrea and Bell kissing lovingly...
Her goddess looked so relieved and happy, being held in the strong arms of Bell and kissing someone for the first time in her life. Happy and embarrassed, Ryu closed the door again and let them alone. The two were so focussed on the other...and so lost in the others eyes..they didn´t even noticed Ryu.

"Astrea...I love you..."
Bell had gently pulled her closer, Astrea closed her eyes and they kissed again.

Astrea´s cheeks got a bit warm when she rememberred how she and Bell had become a couple, she couldn´t help but smile when she rememberred the kiss. Sighing happily, she opened her door and stepped outside on the hallway...facing Bell as he was also up early.
"B-Bell?" She blushed more, perplexed from the situation after thinking about him a second ago.
"Astrea, good morning." He stopped by her side and smiled.
He wore his usual armor and looked like he was about to go.
"Are you...heading to the dungeon?"
"Yes."
"O-Oh...s-stay safe.."
"Astrea?"
"Y-Yes?!"
Bell leaned a bit closer to her, smiling lovingly. In a reflex she leaned slightly back until her back bumped against her closed door. Her innocent heart needed a few moments to get ready for what would happen now.
He gently took her hands and placed a soft kiss on the back of her hands. Then he leaned closer, Astrea smiled and closed her eyes with pursed lips. She felt a soft touch on her lips and sighed happily...no memory was as good as a real kiss from Bell.
Ah...happiness...
Astrea´s eyes shone when they slowly separated their lips and looked at each other from a close distance. To kiss the man she loved so early in the morning...the goddess of justice felt very bold at the moment. Never before was she in love with a man and now she kissed him as the first thing in the morning!

Bell was slightly taller than Astrea so she glanced up to him with a strange glimmer in her eyes. Another happy sigh escaped her as Bell pulled her closer for a moment and kissed her again.

"Good morning, Haruhime."

She really liked the young Renard, if Haruhime weren´t part of the Hestia Familia, Astrea would have invited her to her own Familia. Astrea had the feeling that one day Haruhime would become a great mother, from her experience back then, she saw that Haruhime had the right characteristics. And she knew how strongly in love with Bell Haruhime was, even if she was in love with Bell herself, it was always cute for Astrea to see how those two acted around each other. Haruhime acted shy and most of the time as if she had a crush on Bell and wasn´t in a relationship with him. One day when the three had prepared lunch in the kitchen, Astrea had noticed that Haruhime had curled the tip of her tail around Bell´s wrist...as if those two were holding hands while working.

"What can I do?" Astrea went to the side and took an apron from a hook.

After Astrea and Haruhime were done cleaning the house, Haruhime went on to do the laundry and since she preferred to do that alone, Astrea had nothing else to do.

Se was always happy to see Ryu working at the pub, her little girl had found happiness in her live and that was more than Astrea could hope for. Mia had offered Astrea to also work at the pub but she had declined, Astrea didn´t wanted to disturb what Ryu had with her friends.
Watching her as a guest was enough for Astrea, sometimes she imagined how it would have looked if all of her daughters would have worn something like this uniform.
Most of her days went by like this and Astrea was as happy as she wasn´t in a long time...

A few weeks later.
Astrea hummed happily as she walked through the house, today was the day were Ryu had her day off and she would come to visit and spend the day with her goddess. So Astrea had finished her house work early, looking at one of the clocks in the house, she saw that Ryu should be here soon.
There was only one last thing to do for her, she carried her curtains over her arms, freshly washed and ready to be hung up. Since the sun was shining through her window, they should dry soon. Carefully she walked up the stairs and towards her room when she saw Bell.
"Oh Astrea, wait I open the door for you." Hastily he stepped forward and did as he said.

"Do you need help?"

Gods changed slowly or not at all so it took a while for Astrea to get used too it, being in a relationship with Bell.
Astrea stood next to Bell as he got up to his tiptoes, hanging in the rings on top of the curtains into the pole that would hold them. Bit by bit, Astrea handed him the curtains and watched him hanging them up.

She smiled and couldn´t help but blush a bit, she knew that Ryu also loved to do simple housework together with Bell. Soon the curtains were hung up properly and Bell opened the windows wide so that fresh air could come in, due to that and the freshly washed curtains, the room smelled really nice.
Astrea took a deep breath and smiled happily.
"Thank you for your help, Bell."
"Anytime, anything, for you...my love."

Astrea looked up to the sky while she walked through the streets a few days later, she didn´t liked the color. Big dark clouds covered the sky and she heard it rumble again and again, a cool wind came up.
"It looks like it´s about to rain."
"Indeed." Bell who walked next to her nodded.
Today both went into the city to buy ingredients and things they wanted to stock up, like rice. It was one of those days were everyone was out of the house. Bell carried most of the bags since he was stronger than Astrea...and he couldn´t bear letting a woman carry all those heavy bags. But no matter how heavy the bags were, he wouldn´t mourn since the sight of Astrea alone made it all worth. She wore a long white dress, apparently white was her favorie color, and sandals. No one in Orario was expecting rain, but somehow very suddenly a literal army of clouds gathered over Orario.
Some were really confused by that since it was way too fast when it happened. No one knew that it was the accidental fault of lady Hephaistos and two of her children. Welf and Tsubaki accompanied her in a smithing experiment for a special magic weapon that only Welf could produce and Tsubaki wanted to be part of it.
Thunder elemental energy leaked out into the sky while they were forging and that was what triggered a massive thunderstorm over the city.
"Maybe we should go back...it doesn´t look good..." Astrea was a bit worried.
"I think so too...we don´t want everything to get wet."
Astrea was more than a bit unhappy...she and Bell had grown closer and closer and this day was supposed to be a small date. They had intended to buy themself some snacks and spend the afternoon together in the city. But the weather ruined that plan now.
the wind got stronger and stronger, they saw people closing and locking their shops or street stalls. As they hurried through the streets, Bell caught a glimpse of a certain blond girl that ran into another direction, carrying bags over bags of potato snacks. As she saw the approaching storm, Ais had helped the old lady and Bell´s goddess to close the stall and got all the remaining snacks in return for free. So at least one person in Orario was happy about the storm.
"Bell I-!"
Astrea was interrupted when a heavy clap of thunder echoed through the city.
"AAAH!" She shrieked heavily and only ran faster, the first rain drops fell from the sky.
Bell looked at her worried while he followed her...was Astrea afraid of thunder?
The streets were nearly empty, only the few people that had to reach a destination still ran in this direction or that. In another part of the city, the Benevolent Mistress closed the door after the waitresses and a few helpfull customers carried all the chairs and tables inside that were outside earlier. The inside was still filled since many people would rather stay here and wait for the end of the storm than running home in this weather. Mia was pleased with that, it only meant more sales.
Ryu looked up worried as she heard the next clap of thunder.
"Ryu? Everything okay?" Syr stopped next to her.
"With me yes...but mother..."
"Lady Astrea?"
"Yes...she is afraid...of thunder..."
"Oh?"
"I just hope she isn´t outside..."
"I´m sure she is fine, come, we have much to do."

"Astrea wait!" Bell ran behind her, he saw that she wasn´t feeling well.
"Bell?!"
"Come here!" He stopped for a moment.
More and more rain fell from the sky, the storm was about to unleash all of it´s wrath.
"Bell hurry!" She wanted to start running again.
"Argh there is no helping it! Astrea you can get mad at me later!"
"Wh-Kya!"
She shrieked surprised when Bell threw the bags on his back, attached with a rope to his body and stepped hastily behind Astrea. Without waiting or asking for permission, Bell lifted Astrea up in a princess carry and started running towards the Mansion.
"Eep! B-Bell what are you doing!"
"I´m faster than you, hold on tight!"
Despite the situation and her fear...or rather because of that...it felt really nice to be carried like that by Bell. Astrea winced when the next clap of thunder echoed and now the rain started for real. It was a good thing that Bell could run so fast, but he had to be carefull since he carried all of the stuff and a beautiful woman. The streets flew under his fast feet but he wasn´t fast enough for the rain. Heavy raindrops poured down on them and both got more and more wet.
Finally they saw the Mansion in front of them, all lights were out since no one else was home. Bell hastily opened and closed the maingate behind them and rushed to the door. Eventually they were saved by the canopy and came out of the rain.
"Bell...thank yo-KYA!" Astrea shrieked again by the sound of a thunder clap.
He could feel her shudder in his arms, carefully he put her down to her feet and opened the door with a key. When he closed the door behind them, Astrea finally calmed a bit down.
Drip...

Drip...
Both were completely soaked...
"Mmmh..." Astrea looked unhappy. "So cold..."
"Go and take a shower first, I will put away our purchasing.
"Thank you..." She walked towards the stairs and he saw that she covered her ears against the sound of thunder.
Is she that afraid?
He was cold too but he had to take care of what they bought. Bell walked into the kitchen and put the things they bought on the counter so they could dry again. Surprisingly the magic stone lamps in the Mansion didn´t worked so it remained dark.
Carefully he went up the stairs towards his room, he heard the sound of a shower running from the women´s bathroom. He took a deep thankfull breath as he walked into his room and took off his wet clothes, hanging them up to let them dry. The hot shower afterwards was just heavenly.

Bell had just finished his shower and returned to his room when he heard a gentle knock from the door. The sound of the thunderstorm outside was muffled due to the closed windows.
"Bell?"
"Astrea? Come in."
She opened the door and looked shyly inside. "Ahm...can I...stay...with you...I...ahm...
"Of course, come in."
"E-Excuse me..." She opened the door a bit and came in.
He blinked a few times in surprise...Astrea didn´t wore her usual nightgown or leisure clothing, instead she wore a long sleeved white shirt that was closed with buttons at the front...and nothing more.
"A-Astrea?"
"Ha...I´m sorry...I let my window open...and my closet so..."
"Oh..."
He had a guess what happened to her clothes.
"This shirt...is Ryu´s...I had to use it.."
Ryu had a small closet in Astrea´s room for when she spent a weekend or day off here. Astrea was fidgeting a bit when she walked inside and he saw her trying to pull down the hem of the shirt more. It was one of Ryu´s favorite shirts since Bell liked the sight of her in it so much. For her it reached down to her thighs and was enough to cover everyhing...but Astrea´s body was more womanly than Ryu´s so..

She walked shyly towards his bed and both sat down on the edge. Astrea was relieved that is was so dark in here since Bell only wore pants for the moment. The sight of them was a bit inappropriate, with her only wearing the shirt and panties...
"It is...beacuse of Orario..."
"Orario?"
"Ha...how do I say this... Bell, Ryu told you about the...dark times...right?"
His expression became serious.
"Yes."
"It was...quite common that...something...exploded..."
He nodded, Bell understood what she meant...and what the thunder rememberred her off.
When the next thunder clap rang out over the house, Astrea whimpered and threw herself against Bell´s chest. She put her arms around him and Bell could feel her shudder. Slowly and gently, Bell put his arms around Astrea and just held her.
"Astrea...you are save here...I will protect you and everyone else...I promise."
"Bell..thank you..."
For a while they just sat in the darkness, Bell gently stroked the back of the frightened goddess. Eventually she peeled her forehead from his chest and looked up to him.
"Bell...I love you..."
He gently carressed her cheek with one of his hands. "And I love you...Astrea."
Slowly both closed the distance between them and shared a gentle kiss. Being held and kissed by Bell helped her to forget her fear. The kiss continued until both slowly sunk down on the bed and cuddled there for a while.

That was no lie since Bell was nearly unable to lie...and not very good when he tried...
Her heart grew warmer. "Honestly?"

They entangled their hands as they kissed again lovingly, Astrea forgot her fear about the thunder claps when she was held by him.

She snuggled more against him and sighed happily as he hugged her more, Astrea understood why Ryu loved it so much to sleep like this. But both weren´t really tired since it wasn´t that late, so they just lied there and cuddled.
Astrea thought about the few "lucky" accidents they had in the last weeks...especially...the one in the shower.
"Bell?" She only whispered.
"Yes?"

Authors Note2: Sorry the joke with the shield hero had to be... I can´t say who wil be the next one, maybe Eina or Tiona...or Anya. For those who were hoping for it, I am working on another Riveria chapter on the side. I have about ten different chapter files in which I´m writing and deleting ideas for the chapters. Most of them will be with one girl but there is one kind of three some in there too.
Next one will come faster, I promise.
