[a/n0]polarbear20000's review had a neat addon to #170. Check it out. Magitech's made a good point. Reverse the gender and it changes perspective. There's youtube video of a young boy approaching older passersby to "Be my girlfriend?" A clever commenter wondered how the video would be received if a young girl starred.

Harry Does Different CDV

Postwar Fudge

A man who would not look out of place in early Massachusetts greeted his latest recruits "Mr. Weasley, Miss Bones and, of course, Harry Potter. The first new Aurors since You-Know-Who's defeat."

"Really? The guy in charge of fighting dark wizards? Can't even say a dead guy's name?" the top Auror didn't impress Britain's #1 hero.

Waving off the remark he went on "No need to be vulgar. Gawain Robards and I am the boss here. Miss Bones may have spent a lot of time in this office, but it is mine now. Moving on, I'll give you the 20 Knut tour. Perhaps starting with the court holding cells, which are especially crowded as the Death Eater trials have only just got going."

"Ahh, we'll see the love." Quipped Ron with a elbow to his friend's ribs.

Susan gave the byplay a dirty look and replied "Please Gawain, let's."

"The corridor has been warded, of course." The Head Auror explained as the tour started "No one can get in or out by magic. We have a guard at each end. Hello Bonnie." He returned the salute "And each individual cell has magic suppressants."

Harry, noting one prisoner asked "Even locked up former Ministers?"

"Harry Potter! The-Boy sorry Man-Who-Won!" Cornelius Fudge was weeping piteously.

Ron sneered at him "Seem to remember words like deranged…attention seeker…liar. Need I go on?"

"Way to go!" cheered Susan sarcastically "Think you'll get to ten letter words?"

Harry shot his friend an amused smirk "Get Hermione to help you with that." Then back to the prisoner "So nice to me all of a sudden. Afraid of Azkaban?

"You owe me, Harry! Without me you wouldn't have been able to kill You-Know-Who!" he shouted.

The hero laughed derisively "You? YOU? What rubbish! Remember my underage magic trial? Then Umbridge's detentions. All your fault. You've got nothing I want, except maybe your skin."

"Nuhn-nah." The former Minister cringed in his cell "See reason Harry. Remember, I kept you out of trouble with the balloon Muggle incident."

Harry had to struggle for that occasion, five years is a long time. But he did "Even so, Cornelius, accidental magic is just that. And your prosecutor still tried to hold that against me in a trial that was overblown. So? What have you done for me lately?"

"I…I-I-I" he stammered around for an answer, then grinned evilly "You hate Malfoy don't you? I know where all the skeletons are buried. I could give him to you on a silver platter."

That was when Auror Robards interjected himself "I warned you, Fudge, we've got no use for politicians who sell out to the highest bidder. The only problem will be deciding how you die."

"A moment, sir." Said Harry "Lucius is a slippery snake. He could get off on the old imperius dodge."

The prisoner leapt at that, almost literally, "Exactly! Harry! Mr. Potter! He'd ALWAYS be a threat to you. I'll help you if you help me."

"Sniveling little git, ain't he?" Ron observed, he was much less impressed than he had been of his father's former boss "Reminds me of Pettigrew."

Harry nodded "Truth. And if you'd believed me about Pettigrew and Voldemort maybe Sirius would've been free."

"I wouldn't say he get off light." Susan put in "How much in bribes did you get from Death Eaters?"

The Head Auror was shaking his head "Are you three actually suggesting I go along with this?"

"Sir, you know that's not the way the law works." Harry recently learned quite a bit about the Code "It's the Wizengamot that judges High Crimes and Misdemeanors." He gave an evil smirk through the cell bars "Course, their mood is a little hostile. Especially toward corruption. Lord Greengrass has been voting for The Veil. A lot."

Fudge looked like he had to force his heart back down his throat "Y-you c-c-ant I ha-have i-i-imm-unitee."

Harry countered "I'll bet a ton of Galleons my friend, Hermione, can find some law to get around that. Even if it's true. Tell you what, Cornelius, give you a choice… assuming Mr. Robards supports passing it on… you giveup all your vaults. Don't look so upset! How much of it is bribe money anyway? Tell us where it all came from. Down to the last Knut."

"I would be making enemies. Lots of enemies. Dangerous ones." The former minister quavered.

Robards sneered at him "More dangerous than a dementor or the Veil?"

Susan made a show of tugging the Head Auror away from the bars, far enough to have a brief whispered conversation. Then she addressed him coldly "From what Auntie told me, you're probably small potatoes. If you do everything Gawain and Harry demanded, I will put the full backing of House Bones behind a deal where you can keep one overseas property. Preferably a non-Commonwealth one. You'll have to renounce your British citizenship."

"I had NOTHING to do with Amelia's murder!" exclaimed Fudge.

She shrugged "A dozen years of your neglect. Budget cutbacks. Calling Harry a liar when he said Voldemort was back. All the anti-Auror propaganda. You may not be a Death Eater, but you left the door wide open. If not? Well, those trials …they can go either way."

"Bloody hell. Don't cross Bones." Ron was more than a little awed.

In the end, many more trials went for conviction than expected. Instead of Azkaban, Cornelius Fudge with all his family, landed himself in …rather ironically… Tucson, AZ, USA.
